comment. So, we're just going to move right to strategic planning. >> Yes, thank you. >> Thank you, Jason. >> Um, so again, we just try to give you updates every month about our strategic plan and some of the activities that have occurred in the last 30 days and what some things are coming up. So, I wrote down four things as it relates to our strategic plan. One is that as a district leadership team, we reviewed last month and we did some rising to our year 2 strategies connected to our strategic plan and that's actually part of our discussion later. So we'll talk through that. Um we um Chris Mallaloy, our data guru, and I continue to work with Derek from school perceptions to better align our student and parent engagement surveys for the spring. And
when those are more complete or when they're less drafty, we'll bring that here to this committee to review before we do anything else. Uh each month I work with the the district leadership team around uh our strategies for strategic planning. So um the last week of October we spent about 45 minutes looking at strategies and then outlining what to-dos as a team will take action on the next 30 days and we do that once a month. So that work is continuing to to keep that top of mind. And then it's not directly outlined in our strategic plan, but I'm excited about the data systems that Chris Mallaloy and I have put in place. And November is actually our second month. And so the system that we have now is that the first Monday of the
month uh we share some data set uh with our director team, the district leadership team and we look at that data as a group. Then the next uh Tuesday we share that same data with our cabinet which is district or building principles supervisors and we have an activity where uh we we put people in small groups and look at that data. Chris and I have now created a district-wide data team. And so the second week of the month that data team gathers and looks at that same data uh through their lens. It's mostly teachers from every building across the district. And then third week of the month, we asked uh those those lead teacher leaders and principles to do something with that data at their school. And the fourth month, when appropriate, we bring that
data to the board. So this month, we'll bring some school report card. And so we're really excited about um learning and revising our initial plan, but we're excited about those systems and data sets will bring each month to those groups. That's what I have for strategic planning. Any questions? >> What would be a typical that what would you expect them to do with the data? >> It's a great question. Um our I guess it depends on the group. Our principles we've really asked to use we when we bring it to cabinet for example we bring districtwide data and then we share it with them their building data when they leave and we really ask our principles to to use that data with their like building leadership teams the district data team will really try to
model the collaborative process of looking at data and understanding the data and then developing plans based on the data. So we really want them to start replicating those conversations at their classroom level and knowing that it'll spread from there. So really urging that. >> So this is a new process. They really haven't spent much time there. >> I would say that our district for I don't know how many years but years have talked about professional learning communities. Okay. And part of that is certainly looking at data, but now we're really trying to systematize it and commonize it across the district. It's a great question. >> Um Jason, I was wondering as these surveys are coming in and there's going to be, you know, verbiage that is extrapolated from the surveys themselves. Will that be available
to you to kind of introduce them to the different teams that you have there if if there seems to be a general theme that they need to know and hear about? >> Sure. Are you are you speaking of our parent and uh student engagement surveys? Is that what you're >> No, the community survey pre-referendum. There's there's room for like all kinds of people to write >> Oh, >> stuff. So, if there's topics that come up that have to do with >> shared data, I'm wondering >> what um I haven't been in every discussion around that community survey, but what we've seen and what I've seen from school perceptions in the past is that the comment section comments what they do is look at school perceptions looks at that and gives will give us an executive
summary and that executive summary is around patterns that they see in the data. That's certainly that if something data related pops up, we we'll attend to that for sure. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Thank you. >> Anyone else? >> All right. Take it away with budget communication updates. >> All right. Thank you. Ditto here, right? It's just updates and then uh some things that I wrote down wrote down. Four things again. One is that uh we've been promoting uh the survey and uh one of those ways we've been promoting the survey is we have this really newsletter that goes out to about 70 people across the district every Friday morning. It's called the Friday Flyer and we put uh Melissa and I have crafted a message as a reminder to our building leaders and others
to really encourage uh folks to engage with that survey and then we created a blurb for them to put in their newsletters. Um, we took it a step further and Melissa, I think last week created an infographic around the survey, pushed that out to principles and asked that for that infographic looked much better than our blurred u just aesthetically to be put in newsletters. Uh, we worked with uh Dr. Burke and President Wartman to craft a co-authored message around the survey that I believe is scheduled to go out uh later this week. Is that right? And then most recently, like in the last 24 hours, we worked on a co-author letter between Dr. Burke and President Wartman uh that schedule would be scheduled to go out after the close of the survey thanking people reminding
them what we're going to do with the data now and look for uh where where they can look for that data. So those are the four things that I worked out on those fronts >> that co-authored message written or video. >> It's written. Okay. >> Both of those. >> Okay. questions or >> No, I don't think so. That sounds good. Thank you very much. >> All right. So, Sam, you're going to do the Robert's rules of order. >> Yeah. And I'll keep it real brief. Uh we met uh a while ago back in uh October, first week of October, I want to say, and we went through a Robert's rules of order training. Uh I thought it was great, conformative, I think we learned during that time has been doing too bad procedures rules guideline.
It's not something that you have to follow by law and it's really something that's there to help you have healthy and functional discussions. And in kind of our Q&A with the fellow who is leading our Robert's rules, um we asked him some questions about, hey, should we do things this way or that way or what do you think would be best? Uh I I thought that what we found was that most of what he recommended was the way that we were already operating as a board. So um highly functional uh and I think that you know that's been reflected in a lot of our meeting times too is we tend to have our communications and then we get to the bottom of what we're thinking and we move forward. So it's a good time. Um
honestly I mean I don't know if he I don't know if he does anything else but if he ever comes back for anything I think you'd enjoy talking to him. All right, >> that's everything I have there. >> All right. And then we're moving into the board of education communications discussion. Um I believe it's it references the the school board in 60 seconds, right? That's the >> you know there's two pieces. Uh one certainly could start with that for sure. I can take it away if >> Oh, please go right ahead. And so, um, just for context and remembrance purposes, uh, I believe it was Tammy, Melissa, Julene, and myself met >> two months agoish. >> And Dan, thank you. Two months agoish to think about ideas of how to uh, better engage our community
uh, around some of the discussions and topics that the board is navigating. And at that time two two ideas really surfaced as something that the team was excited about. One was you know these community engagement pieces and I'll talk more about that after this. And then the second one was uh doing some short videos after the monthly board meeting. And so, um, further discussion about that was, uh, I think I think Tammy gave an update at the board meeting just solidified that that was the right the right move from the board. And so, Melissa and I tried to put some ideas around what that could look like in this document. And so, uh, school board in 60 seconds. I won't ever read things to you, but I think some of things that I underlined are
important to highlight. And then the discussion tonight is any feedback, questions, comments. We want to get closer and closer to making this our reality as soon as possible because I think it's a good idea. And so I'll just quickly go through this and then uh open up for discussion and feedback. Uh we always uh I always think about the why, what, and how. And so I always frame things in that way. And so uh four bullets there about our why, right? We want to I won't read things but some of the things and number one that I underline that are really important to me is around uh just informing folks about key discussions, decisions and celebrations. Number two is and I think one through four are equally important but number two speaks about just being
open and accessible and actively communicating in a in a strategic way. Number uh three is is really to humanize the work of the board. Right? People think of the board as this entity, but we're humans and we want to um make sure that's part of our why. And then the last is really forward thinking and thinking about how do we uh connect it. I think this really speaks to connecting it to our strategic plan using you know tradition, innovation, transformation as the foundation of that. Then we think about that's, you know, we we want to be grounded in our why, but what does it look like? And so the what and the how are kind of uh intertwined, but I'm just outlining some ideas that Melissa and I surfaced. Uh certainly want to have have
it be really short. You know, the the age of long videos is long gone, right? People uh get their information in short pieces of of of video. And so we want to be short. We want to have some warmth uh high impact u highlights and then some closing with connections and gratitude. Again on the top of page two just kind of further flushes out some ideas. This is really draft drafts or any feedback but uh things like want to record these within 48 hours of board meeting. It'll be really timely. Uh we we thought Melissa really surfaced this idea about 60 seconds to have a little bit of fun with it. You know, whoever's creating the video is could be challenging themselves to keep it 60 seconds or less. Uh the format really just conversational
and approachable. Really want to be authentic. We talked about, you know, there's times where we could use a backdrop. last year for the referendum we used that vestibule with all the pictures of the different mascots but if some background that is common and people expected um I don't know much about it but uh Melissa knows much more about this thing called hashtags and so we'd want to have a hashtag so we could push that up in folks feeds I think it's called but have a common hashtag that we put out on our social media Um, collaboration is again just being on the same page of those messages. And then consistency really leads into that script for that purpose, right? Kind of a common opening, common closing and and the 60 seconds is where that information
is coming. And so we put together an example script, you know, a introduction of who it is, what's their role, last night's board meeting. The summary is like again, let's start the clock, you know, some excitement or challenge there. 60 seconds and then some common uh way to outro the video every time. There's a super a former superintendent that has made a business around his 60 seconds walk to work and he ends it with go crickets. That was the district's like our and so I mean he's a retired superintendent. is on the on the circuit now writing books and it's but people know that like go crickets right so we want to have a common ending to this uh in a similar fashion I've done too much talking what questions feedback ideas to make this
even better please >> anybody >> I know you had uh thrown out like four or five really great titles of this >> um board briefings I thought I don't know I mean I are you calling it something Or >> did that did the title go away? >> No, we I mean we we put the title here board school board in 60 seconds, but the title catchy title would >> I didn't know that was the title. Sorry. >> No, no, it doesn't have to be. But that title would end up in our hashtag as well. >> Okay. It's still a draft for sure. For sure. >> Got it. >> Y >> Okay. I have a couple questions, >> please. >> Okay. So, I'm assuming that this is just like a general outline, right? because we had
discussed where it wouldn't always be Craig, it would be other board members. I just want to make sure we're still on the same page with that. >> Absolutely. >> Um, and as far as uh I thought we weren't doing scripting. Is there any reason why we're moving to a scripted like I thought that we were going to like set on whatever topics were going to be discussed, but I thought we were trying to move away from a script. So >> I would say, please correct me if I speak incorrectly, but the word script there to me is really the commonization of the intro and the outro, but the the meat of that is not scripted, if that makes sense. >> It's like book ends. >> Right. Right. So people have become comfortable whether it's Tammy,
Dan, Craig, they have a common intro to it and they know how it's going to end. But the the the meat of the information is not scripted. >> Okay. It is not. So I guess I'm just wondering how that will go if the board president is to review and approve the final script before filming. >> Well, I would assume that I have notes, you know, in a not a form of a script necessarily, but >> but yeah, like what you're going to talk about or whatever. I was just wondering because it says here that the board president will review and approve the final script before filming. >> Yeah. So I just don't know if there was further discussion and maybe they wanted it scripted just to avoid full pause. I'm not ex like if there
was further discussion after we had discussed >> maybe just you know so so intro is great and the intro does not count against the 60 seconds. Okay. So the clock starts as soon as you've introduced yourself and then maybe it would just be something collaborative collaboratively between whoever's speaking or the board president to know what like the five or six quick topics are that are going to be highlighted. Okay. just in case, you know, like maybe Craig, you know, if you're speaking, Craig's like, "No, can we add one more to it?" Then you would have that input in that. But really, it's like we want this to feel really organic and like you're just kind of firing off the information for the 60 seconds and then you come to your closing. >> Okay. So, is
there any way that we could have it where the board president and the whomever is going to be presenting both need to approve whatever they're going to discuss? >> Absolutely. you know, where it's like like if it's Dan that's going to be presenting that day in the 60 seconds, then Dan and Craig have to work together to come up with what is going to be presented during the video. >> Most comfortable for the board. Absolutely. >> I'm just wondering how you guys feel about that >> because then Craig's right there immediately, you know, that would be good. >> Yeah. Yeah. I think having uh I think I think having both people involved throughout the process would be the most expedient way to handle it. I'll also change that to approves final like topics versus script.
>> Okay. Linda, did you have >> I was just wondering Melissa, will you be shooting the video then? Is that or who would? >> Yep. So, we have two options. One is we can do that here. iPhones and Canva make great videos or we do have a standing offer to use the Watertown TV um studio at any time and they're a little fancier in graphics than I would be for a video. So, um it's an offer that's been made to us. We would just have to make an appointment, you know, standing appointment when we're going to film them if we do use Watertown TV studios for this. >> And then could there be ever two people going back and forth? I mean, if they're short and to the point or or prefer one, >> I
think this is really open for the board to make decisions. Melissa and I, this is an attempt for Melissa and I to keep the ball rolling, right? Sure. >> Be supportive. And I always like to develop systems that allow us to be effective and efficient but also live beyond us, right? And so for 10 years from hopefully someone's still using this, right? So that's the goal. But this is this is draft draft draft. Okay. >> Yeah. I don't think it would be a problem to have two people if it would work well with whatever the topic's going to be, you know, like if you made like some little 60-second skit or something >> just to make it, you know, it is humanizing it and just make it interesting to >> Yeah. I think that the
best way to go about it is to hop into them, start working on them and you'll iterate over time and, you know, you'll make we'll make better and better videos as we go on. I think keeping it organic is important and part of keeping it organic is experimenting with how you make the video each time you make it. I think all the notes you wrote down are awesome, Jason. I think it's a really great foundation. And I think, you know, after uh after the 17th, we could hop right in and have Craig do the first one >> as a as a summary, you know, and just kind of throw that out there the first time. And we don't have to worry too much. If there's something we want to change, you don't have to keep
the videos exactly the same, especially not the first four or five videos. >> Yeah. I'm hoping after some time look back the first one say, "Oh, >> exactly." That's what you want. You want that refinement. >> But the big question is, do you want a ticking clock graphic to be in the background while this is all playing? >> Oh, yeah. Definitely. >> Work on that. That would be fun. >> I think that would be very cool. It it kind of goes along with our open board meetings. There's a clock going on for the hearing because we're the we're the public then speaking. So, >> any any thoughts about uh doing a really authentically and organically kind of here or this building or tapping into the city? >> Uh I think doing it on school property
would be the better way to go personally. um just because I think that's I think that's most fitting. >> Or even like school events like if somebody like if there's an event the day after the board meeting they could go to the swimming event and like film it at the swimming I don't know if you'll be there already like taking pictures so it might actually I it depends on how you that would work with your schedule. >> Is uh is Jordan still at the city? Jordan Westber is he still working at the city? He's >> not. Okay. I was just curious. >> Evan Heisy is is there is there a videographer who does all the really cool videos of the mayor? >> Yeah, definitely. Well, I mean, I would say, you know, reach out to
them because, you know, maybe we film things on location, but if they're willing to work with us on that, I'm sure that they have some equipment that would be helpful that would make the entire production a little bit little bit more uh digestible. Um, I'm thinking of like audio, you know, I mean, the recording raw audio on your iPhone or your Samsung is not going to be nearly as nice as if you have a boom mic. So, >> um, or or a shotgun mic. So, yeah, something like that would probably be a good idea. >> I like that idea. >> Go ahead, Kyle. >> Has anybody ever done this before? >> I mean, we we looked at uh Melissa, I don't know if you knew the district or just Google it, but we saw one.
It was it it did not feel authentic at all. It felt like a big video production, you know, with with uh scripts and slides that were sliding in and out. It just didn't feel like what we were trying to get at. Um the only thing I've seen again is his name is Joe Samippo. He was in Fall Creek, I think, >> and he's, you know, he's on all the social medias. He would do these one minute walks to work. He lived down the block from central office. And so he would do something about leadership and then he end it with go crickets and it were literally like 60 seconds. And so that you know that's the only example. I've not seen board updates in that man. So >> did you ever game against the fighting
crickets? >> No, but I know who Joe is. >> He used to play ball. >> Yeah, he's retired now. He does like engagements and books and speak engagements >> play for climbing. >> Yeah. I'm good with it. I think it's a great plan, guys. Thank you. >> Yeah. >> Did you do we want to attempt uh in November? >> Yeah. >> I think that'd be very doable. >> Okay. >> I will reach out to Evan at city hall. I really like the idea of that partnership and I I can't speak for him, but I bet he'd be willing to meet us on site because he has the technology to make it look a little more fun and he probably adds the clock. I'm not quite sure if I I it might take a little bit
of work to figure that out. I could um but I know I could be a real polished product of the city. >> Perfect. Thank you guys so much. >> Would we uh want Craig to do this first one? Uh yeah, I believe that was like Craig being the board president should introduce it to the community, so to speak. >> Okay, I can reach out to Craig just to keep him in the loop and remind him if he doesn't come to meetings, we give to-dos. >> Um he's he's on the meeting. >> Okay. >> So, I think he's listening. >> Excellent. >> Just follow your crate. >> Yeah, I can hear you. >> We will work with you to make it uh really successful. Excellent. >> Thank you. >> Any other thoughts about that? >> No.
>> The only other thing um as it relates to board communications is I know that Lyn and Melissa have this board community engagement sign up. I just have it up on my screen. There's a litany of opportunities from now until March. And so, thank you for your work. And if there's anything that I or Melissa can do to help, please let us know. >> Questions about >> um I am good for the 11th, by the way. >> Uh no, I don't have them. >> Nope. >> I'll keep checking out the uh keep checking on it as it goes. All right. Thank you. I can go to taglines if that's >> Oh yes, please. >> Yep. And so uh just again for context and and remindering uh last year when we started thinking about a referendum
at that time we were working with Donovan Group uh with from our strategic plan. And so Don and the group did a lot of work uh with our leadership team about um planning out the communication for the referendum Q&As's formatting of of literature and developing a tagline. And so as as you may remember our work with Don Group has sunseted. And so Melissa and I have been thinking about talking about how do we fill that uh that gap we're done and helped us last year. So we're trying to be uh as early planning as possible and one of the things that we have done is thought about a tagline for referendum if we were to go to a referendum. And so what you see here, I think there are six. The list started with, I
don't know, 30ish tagline, possible taglines. And Melissa did a wonderful job of saying, "Oh, 20 of those are really bad, Jason." Something of that nature. But we brought 10 uh taglines to our cabinet, that cabinet that I mentioned. And so we brought 10 of those to the cabinet. ALS also uh gave folks an opportunity to create one on their own if they have a better idea. And so what came out of that was I think four that really were uh um tallied often, right? They were high selected and two that people helped us create. And so what we have here is six possible taglines for a referendum if we were to do so. And um I would just appreciate any feedback, anything that really resonates with the team or if there's something different um just
want to again be ready as possible for that endeavor if we do that. So thoughts, questions that really resonates. Carl's got a question. >> Go ahead, Carl. >> Has anybody got any feedback from the questionnaire yet? the the survey >> the survey >> I have not seen any data from that survey yet. >> I think that just opened up like last Friday. So, we're probably going to have to wait another couple of weeks. I said they I think what they said was that they weren't going to close kind of unofficially close the poll until the 18th, right? Is that what they said? >> And then then they're going to I guess consolidate the information and present it to us. So, that probably won't be until December. >> Well, I have a little problem with it.
What's your what's your treasure? >> My problem is they they had my name on it. They had all your names on it that were on the board of education, >> but they put treasure on mine that I was the treasurer. You're the clerk. >> And I wish they would have done that because my phone has been ringing. >> Oh, I'm sorry, Carl. >> My phone has been really ringing. >> Well, and matter of fact, I had two people that are retired that uh came right out and said, "How do you want me to vote for you?" >> Yeah. Well, welcome to the club. >> And that in my opinion is not the reason for the refer for the questionnaire. >> The questionnaire is how do you want me to vote? That's flip the question right
back on them. That's what I >> And that's that's just what I tell them. I said, you know, >> be honest about it and vote the way you want to vote it. But the biggest the biggest thing is from every one of them that I've heard from and I've heard from a lot of them >> Mhm. >> is the mill rate and what it's going to cost them that that's all this is water town folks and it it that's the big thing. It's what's it going to cost me. >> Well, I'm glad to hear you're getting feedback because I want to hear from the entire community uh when we talk about this. I want I want to make sure we get good feedback from the whole community. So keep on encouraging them in that direction
and if that's where people are thinking I think we'll get some really good feedback as to what they want. >> I wish they had put your one qu that question that you pursued on there and how did you vote last time I wish that would have been on there. >> Well, you know, I mean we'll see how it turns out. You know, obviously I wanted it to be on there, but that's water under the bridge now. So I understand that still be good feedback. >> I think that would have been a very important question. that that for gauging how many people are going to change their mind, you know, from what you're getting on there, the information you're getting off of it compared to what people thought last time. >> Mhm. >> Are we opening
up the information for these people? And I the questionnaire I think is >> it's moving in the right direction. >> Um I think we're going to talk about that. I think a later agenda item is going to be well actually I guess uh this kind of falls under this item. Um but uh yeah, no I I think I think it's moving in the right direction. I think there's a lot of different elements as far as the taglines go. Um I'm I I think uh they all look pretty good. I would say that I prefer ones that focus have kind of I guess a a positive focus. So, I like number four. Uh although I'd probably say that I like six, two, and one the most. I guess going backwards on the list, 6, two, and
one are probably the ones that I like the most out of these three. Um and and I personally like three because it's incorporating the community first. uh telling them that they do have a say so on this. So it's your voice the pronoun their future. So it removes us and puts us back in the community. >> I don't know. But I like I do like all of them. I think you narrowed the 30 down 12. >> I would really like to see the original list of 30. Jason, >> you have good ideas. So I would like to see what bad ideas from Jason. Barely not 20 of them. >> Um, I agree with you, Linda. I like three. >> Any other thoughts? >> Yeah. What do you guys think, Dan? Carl? >> Yeah, three is
fine. Three is that's the real question. >> The one the one that I like the best was the one my wife disliked the most. >> So, how is that? We're going to try to influence the community. We're not going to use number five. >> I think number five is a little bag. I'm not sure why your wife disliked it, but um that would be my thought. I think three is good. My only concern about three is that um it does have a little bit of a transactional tone to it. Your voice, their future, and it's almost like are you going to support their future? And I think maybe your voice empowers their future or something like that is maybe maybe a little bit less potentially hostile. >> I I think I was trying to balance
the pronouns. That's what I think. >> I No, and I agree with you on that. I do really like that element of uh number three. be uh your voice empowering their future. >> Yeah, that was that was my thought. But I mean, what do you think about that, Linda? Think that do you think that takes away from the brevity of the of the statement of the tagline? >> Um I mean, I think empowering their future still is memorable. Like you want something that they're going to hang on to, you know, >> your voice empowering their future. But what if >> what if it is your voice creates their future? That that might be a little >> So are you gonna are you going to create the future from Terminator or are you going to create
>> true? Yeah. No, that's not Yeah, I don't think that's the idea. But um >> your your voice supporting their future. >> Well, actually if we're talking about it's your voice determines because if they're if they choose not to. >> Well, I think that really guilt trip. >> Yeah, exactly. I don't think and I don't think that people >> right >> people are not people are not by a matter of fact obligated to vote for a referendum and telling people they're obligated to do something or implying they're obligated to do something right >> is a great way to you know and I think that was what a lot of people struggled with during the last referendum is when information was going around at least a number of people I talked to felt like there was
an obl like there was a sort of attitude of obligation um and I think it's more it should more be like Jason always talks about it should be an attitude of gratitude. Um, if someone's willing to vote to give their hard-earned money to the district, that's something that I'm grateful for because it means that that person thinks that the district is headed in the right direction and doing what it's supposed to. And that's not a certain thing in this day and age that a person would think that about a public school district. So, um, I think your voice, their future works. And I'm, you know, I like that's kind of why I chose the word empowers because I didn't think it was I didn't think it had that accusatory or potentially judgmental tone to it.
And I think it's important to keep a positive tone. Um, >> another strategy we could do is uh the team here tonight could reduce it to three and then bring three to the full board as well. >> Yeah, that'd be good. >> I think that would actually that's good. I would say one, three, and six would be my vote for that. My my my tally on there. I don't know what you guys think. >> I do like one to also. >> What do you think that? >> I say just one and three. >> That seems those seem to be getting the most votes here. And we have with five people. >> I was rewriting one. I'm sorry. >> Rewriting number one or >> number one. Okay. So, like just to play what if number one
was strong communities create strong schools that bring bright futures. >> But I don't know if that's two word. >> It's too wordy. Taglines are how what's the what's that rule? There's taglines are a certain number and under. >> I don't know. Okay. >> If if we get Craig's voice on this, we have six people throwing in already. >> Oh, yeah. I mean, I think that, you know, I think Delane, David, Lori would all probably have something valuable to contribute there. I think the idea of shrinking it down to the three and then having the board vote on which one they'd like to go with on the 17th would not be objectionable in my opinion. >> What What about flip-flopping one? Strong communities, strong schools, strong future. >> Yeah, I think that sounds >> communities and
schools flip-flop. Is that >> flip-flop community and and schools? >> I like that a lot. Linda, >> what if you have the equal sign? Strong community plus strong school equals strong future. >> Yeah, I like that. You know, I'm a fan of math. >> Okay. It's kind of on the school >> fundamentals. >> So, strong schools. >> So, so strong community plus strong schools >> equals strong future. >> Okay. >> I like that one, Linda. >> Very good, Linda. >> Hey. >> Yeah. I would say bring that and three to the board and see what the board says about it. 17th. >> So the revised version of number one and then number three as is? >> No. >> Okay. >> You got any other thoughts on it, Dan? >> No, I I'm not married to
any of these and I uh I do like those But that together we build tomorrow is it just reminds me of Disney World, you know? >> Yeah, I like I like the first one with the adjustments, Linda. That was a good suggestion. >> Yeah, thank you. >> Well, what do you think? Should we move on to the uh next agenda item? >> Yeah, it's unless anybody has anything else to add? >> Nope. Then we're going on to the strategic plan year two strategies. >> Yes. Thank you. So again, uh just uh for context and putting us all on the same page, we start off here. What this document is is long obviously. Um but the start of it is is is this uh should be very familiar and so um strategic plan was I believe
approved by the board last fall early fall and part of the strategic plan process was for us to identify some priority areas and so that first gray uh out box there are priority areas and again I will not mean things to you, but we want to um talk think about our academic excellence and student growth. All in team really speaks to our human resources and serving and supporting the humans, the adult humans that really support our learners. Connecting as community is really how do we reach out to uh our students, parents, community intentionally? Intentional resource allocation is really how do we maximize and leverage our dollars to uh be good stewards but also support learning at a high level. And then we want to think about innovative facilities use and how do we create spaces
that support learning. So those are our priority areas. Next uh grayed out box there are goal areas. Again this is um just the context here but we really have five role areas. One in mathematics one and literacy postsecary preparation or those certifications postsecary prep and our credentials with our core values. And so we have those priority areas and then our goal areas. Then the the meat of this is really the uh first of all there's some data there. Skipping ahead too far. So there's some longitudinal and fresh data that uh Chris Malloy and and I and the director team presented in I believe it was July. And so that's uh 24 25 goal and then the actual litter goal or reset goal for the year. And then the rest of this document really outlines kind
of the to-dos or action items. We call them strategies that have uh were really fleshed out a year and a half ago, but we know that we don't want our strategic plan to be set it and forget it, right? And so I think it was late September when I brought this document to our leadership team for the district and just talked about anything that we need to update change. And so thought it was a good time to bring it to this team and just keep keep it fresh top of mind. And so the areas that are yellow highlighted are pieces that were updated by one or more directors. So, Angel has uh I think page three up, you see yellow and it's still on the pacing guides. And so, that's something that I believe Jenny
Boris added to that. The yellow indicates something that has been added. And so, uh I won't ever read things to you, but you can see that the strategies are are are columnized by those different goals. And so the inspired academic excellence, those strategies as you work across are categorized under math, literacy, postsecary, and core values. On page uh four, there's two areas that are highlighted at the bottom of page four and I believe top page five. Those are that's some work that I believe Sarah O and Jenny Forest really taken on. It's really speaks to developing those multilevel systems of support for u intervention in math and and elementary at the elementary and middle school level. And then AC the column next to it really speaks to thinking about what are the most common strategies
that support SWD or students with disabilities. So Sarah has really spearheaded this work thinking about what are those uh evidence-based interventions that go hand in hand with the column next to it. So I feel like I'm doing a lot of talking. Let me pause there. If there any questions regarding priority areas, goal areas, goals or strategies thus far. So that root cause that was just recently added, how do you have any idea, Jason, how long that would take to get to the root cause? >> Yeah, I what I I don't know every working piece here, but what I believe is happening is >> Sarah O >> um is are working with the team at RMS. calls on IRMS. Yes. To to think about what are the uh root cause causes and then subsequently what are
the interventions systematically that we can put in place to support students that that need some extra learning support. And so this is definitely a work in progress. These are you know these strategies really look at a school year or a calendar year. And so that work is in infancy stages, but that's the work that a small team at our does. >> So, so um like initially Okay. So, I'm sorry because I thought that was just for the elementary, not the middle school. So, that helps to understand. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. >> Any other questions about really kind of pages one through four? >> Yeah. the postsecondary preparation. Um, this is thinking outside the box, but I wonder if we would uh try to get people credentialed and certified with CDLs. >>
Yeah, that's something that Yes. Right. We can think about it. As you know, Sarah Tarpy does some wonderful work in that area. >> Yeah, >> I can bring that topic to her for sure. I remember that uh Sam, you probably remember that Jared said one time um they were encouraging coaches to get their CDL so they could drive the buses to and from their going there anyway and that would be there'd be a savings there if we could get one of those 18-year-old seniors to drive the bus if we could find somebody responsible. So >> I know what you're thinking, but it's just a possibility. There's plenty of 18-year-olds that I do trust to drive and I've met 18-year-olds that are better at driving than some 45 year olds I've met. But I'm wondering just
about policy and law and whether or not you run a foul of something like that if they're enrolled at the school. Can they? You know, I think if someone gets through CDL training, you've got some pretty good you got some pretty good skills there. I think that that's a little bit of a proof of of ability to drive safely generally. I guess we don't always know that for certain, but yeah, I guess you'd have to look into that. That's very good. You are you do think outside the box. That's for sure. >> Yeah, I think adding to the menu of uh certificates that students can earn is always a good idea, right? It doesn't have to necessarily end. And they do have Beaver Dam. I know. I don't know if they Can I chime in
just a minute here? >> Um, I actually do have a CDL and I do know that some insurance providers require individuals to be at least a certain age before they um before they drive. And um like you say Sam, regarding policy and procedures, I think that's all I think that's all up to the bus company to a degree as well. So uh having having students drive might not be the best solution. Just a thought. >> But making the opportunity for students to work on getting their CDL or helping them with that would be excellent. And I certainly think that that's a great idea. Okay, >> I I'll start the conversation. Sarah, sounds good. >> Any other thoughts or questions regarding kind of pages one through four? >> No, it looks good. >> Okay, thank you.
Just going to turn us to kind of final pages there five through eight. And again, the the the strike through are are pieces that um were taken off and in these areas. I believe Margaret uh struck through those and um I I apologize. I don't know why at this time. Those are pieces that she removed from plan for this year. I'm sure it's through HR lens. Uh page six um is an addition at the top of page six again stem from Margaret's work finalizing the salary program operating guidelines was an addition versus something that we took off the list on pages seven page seven is really untouched and then page eight there was a couple strength one strike through that really impacted number of columns and then I want an addition. And so on the
last page there, what we see is Sarah Pel's work really striking through leveraging common school funds. Again, I apologize. I don't know why that, but added that project planning for the 10-year capital improvement. And so that's just an addition that I wanted to highlight. And so again what what we've done uh and I think with success we'll do it again this year is that as I mentioned earlier uh as a director team we look at our strategic plan and our action items every month think about what are the action items we can accomplish in the next 30 days and then we reflect on that and then June or July we uh typically will bring a full end of year uh comprehensive book the accomplishments are connected to our strategic plan and the data and we
would do that again this year. >> Okay. What does P stand for? >> Uh that's the facilities group >> page eight. >> Yeah, it's the architects. I don't know their last >> Thank you. >> Hey Jason and team, this is Jared. Um just wanted to talk a little bit about the striketh through on page five I believe that Margaret put through. Um and the reason uh administratively we've said hey we need to shelf this. Uh we discussed this last year. We did a study last year. Um I think Bender Carlson or I can't remember the exact name of the company. um did a did a research on our our current system of paying our certified staff. Uh and uh we also looked at a couple of different options about what it would be to change
that uh based on some of the questions that staff had about, you know, thinking about what they thought would be um you know, an interesting program. and and we just know we don't have the resources to really um further that discussion right now, especially in light of looking for a referendum. Um but should we have a successful referendum, I think we do need to have those next steps or discussions. Um it's just timing right now is not the best time for that. >> Thanks, Kurt. >> Thank you. >> Yep. Um, so on, so this is jumping a little bit ahead of page five, but on page six, we talked about commu connecting as community. Um, I think that we're already doing some great stuff on the board end with that engagement signup that we discussed
already tonight. I was wondering, especially because you're here tonight, Melissa, what can we do to branch out and try to move into spaces that are not like specifically like district associated? Like, can you get us into various can you not get us into, but can you um get in the list various uh social events that are happening in town and things like that, especially as the holidays come up? I know that there's going to be more opportunities. I would imagine if we were in Okanom Walk, there'd be a good opportunity to go to the uh the Christmas market like they do down by the lake there. So, I know we have things going on in town as well. So, maybe as you're already going to be communicating with uh what did you say his name
was, Eric at the city? >> Evan. Sorry. I remembered it started with an um you already said you were going to be communicating with Evan. So, if you'd be able to uh reach out and connect with the city about some of those events that are coming up, I think it'd be great to have the opportunity to communicate with members of the public out there. Um, anytime we can sign board members up or, you know, a board member and a member of administration to go out and talk to people, I think that's great. I think it's good to keep out there and have those opportunities for back and forth communication. >> Certainly. Um, I will take a look at the list. I know the last community event on there was Boo Bash, but there are more
coming up and I'm happy to have those. >> Awesome. Thank you very much. I appreciate that. >> Anybody else questions, concerns? >> No, I'm just thinking about what Sam just said. Um, the people we want to reach are voters and they go to vote at the town hall in their townships. If there's some way they're, you know, I mean, they're comfortable going there because they vote. So maybe we could have some meetings there. >> So >> yeah. No, I think that'd be a great idea. I think getting out into the townships especially would be awesome. Um so I suppose that would apply as well. And then maybe having a little bit more signage that talks about that. I know we already have some signage that goes with us when we set up at, you know,
one location or another, but maybe having a little bit more communication that that's happening. I think sometimes flies under the radar a little bit as we're getting out into non-d district spaces, as we're getting into those community spaces, I think that that communication and advertisement becomes a little bit more important. So, I mean, again, I would assume that you're already thinking about these things, so I'm not like I'm not saying, "Oh, hey, how about this?" But yeah, uh keeping that in mind I think would be great. >> Other questions or thoughts about updated year two strategies here? >> No, I appreciate the update. >> Yeah, >> very thorough. Thank you. >> How do you feel you're doing with staying in line with >> Yeah, I I'm very comfortable with the the strategies and keeping that
top of mind. Um, I also I would say that, you know, as Melissa and I, Dr. Burke and others are communicating, I think we're doing a better job of making reference and connections to our strategic plan. So, I I like that a lot. >> Okay. >> And um I just think I'm always thinking about how do we how do we assure that this is is not something that is new for our students, staff, and parents. just thinking about ways to to to to have this strategic plan be something that everyone as many people as possible are are familiar with. So that's what I'm always thinking about. But the strategies I'm very comfortable with. >> Okay. >> On page seven, you're talking about developing a coalition of community, business, city, district leaders. How's that going? >>
Yeah, that's a great question. Thank you. Um, one of the districts that we looked to as a model was uh, Burlington areas. I think it's Burlington Area School District. And I don't know when it is, but it's in the next week or two that Dr. B, I believe Melissa and I are meeting with the superintendent of Burlington and others from Burlington to talk about how they developed that very uh, committed to group. And so that's kind of our starting point there. Doing some research about how how to develop that, what was their why, their how, their what. And so, um, let's go ahead right now. >> Go ahead, Carl. >> I hate to say this, but the people you're going to have to get to are the tavern people, and you get to them through
>> the local tavern league. And I I I know this for a fact because this this is going to get discussed heavily in your local saloons and there's going to be some pretty heavy arguments. And the way you can clarify that if you ask for somebody to go and speak before the tavern league, you know, the local tavern league, >> uh that would really be helpful. >> Can you help us arrange that because I'm not Well, I I can uh Well, >> what about my Christmas party? >> You know, and because Watertown has a has a name for itself, you know, being at one time it had the most taverns of any community in the state of Wisconsin. I mean, per capita. And uh I don't know if it's still focused that much in reference
to the community like it used to be, but usually these were the things that were discussed. >> I mean, I witnessed it myself personally many, many times. >> Well, can you get us an audience at the tavern league or what, Carl? >> We'll try. >> Okay, perfect. >> We'll try. >> I think you would be the guy who would have the best in there. Yeah, I definitely although I never belonged, I quit because I wasn't because of some moves they made. But yes, I I know the people that are in control yet and we'll see if we can't get to them. >> Okay, that sounds great. Eric and Ken, if you could just keep listen. Well, thank you very much. >> Would that also include bowling bowling alley? >> Oh, yes. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. your
bowling proprietors are all members >> to the best of my knowledge most of them are members of the >> tavernly but there's only >> well I think what do we have two bowling alleys left in town so >> the same party bones both of them so >> I think that we have to be also mindful of ramping up if we do go to referendum we want to ramp up our presence as we get closer and closer to April and so some of those uh pieces we can get closer to April as well. You know, last year we >> we had a a really ugly chart that I made of places and phone calls and asking folks to allow us to be there. And so, you know, like I know for a fact Mark gets the
former principal at Lincoln went to both bowling alleys and we, you know, had common literature just like we're doing this year, >> very informal at forcing folks to talk about being available. >> And so, I think as we as we continue to add events and places, we think about just ramping up as we get closer and closer to April. And a lot of those leagues are ending, you know, right around that time. So that might be a great time March to >> Yeah. >> I would also say that we're probably going to have a better experience if we go to referendum. It'll be better if we talk to people before we actually put the question out there. So getting to these places, going into the bowling uh the bowling alleys and going to the various
taverns would be really great if we're going there before we're saying, "Oh yeah, can you vote yes?" We want to talk to people, hear from them, connect with them, and then that way if we are going to ask them to vote any which way, we're asking them to vote for something that we already heard their feedback on and we have already established that communication, that conversation with them. >> Totally agree. >> But we should have permission from the owners. Well, yeah. I'm not just going to go to Tavern Lake. >> Yes. Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. >> Prior to the referendum, we we reached out and had conversations with the owners of all the businesses that we had materials in or I had board members or um people were helping to get the word out. We always
make sure that that was okay with them, they were comfortable with that and we let them know exactly what they'd be bringing as well for marketing materials. >> Yes. We really had two kind of formats. One was like a formal presentation kind of like the Burns briefings last year and the other version was we're just going to come and eat breakfast and have some literature. Can we talk to people? >> And so we did both of those last year. >> I think you know adding to the list now was a great idea. >> Yeah. >> Again, I think ramping up but starting now was great. >> Yeah. seeing if we can do it before we vote to go to referendum. If we can at least get like a spot or an opportunity to go into
those places, I think that's that's awesome. >> Please, Carl. >> Well, I got a back door in with the Chamber of Commerce, so if you want to make connections there, I know the person to contact that. >> Yeah. Any contacts you have would be appreciated. I would say we have a great working relationship with the chamber. >> Um, they've been supportive of any messaging that we've asked for or helping us to get into places as well. But if you have more information, you can funnel it to make the contact and or funnel it to Melissa. It' be great. >> Do you think it would be possible to have a table at the hospital craft there? >> I can check on that. >> I just don't know how they would feel about that because it is
I'm assuming it's like a paid table scenario for the craft fair. You know what I mean? >> Right. Yeah, I'm happy to check on that. And then I know that there's a list that Watertown Tourism published of all the area craft fairs. We can look at that as well. High school will be doing one. >> Okay. >> In November. And then also we have our um stuff the bus happening on November 22nd. That's during women's only weekend. And since that's a school sponsored event, you definitely have someone there. >> Okay. Perfect. Thank you. Getting back to the U community and I said this last year when when we had community members coming in and Jared giving the briefing when we needed to get that new high school through that referendum. It was a community member
who stepped up and took the lead and really sold it. And so I think it's really important to get those designes, you know, to get on board and and sell it. But that of course is going to be after we find out the information from the survey. >> So if we we have to identify those key people and uh you know recruit. >> I agree. We just need to be really mindful, right? like the the district as a whole uh can provide information but we can't say no either way. So we just need, you know, we just need to be mindful of communication >> and you know earlier I mentioned Donovan group and last year December, November, somewhere around there. I think we were meeting once a month or once a week for, you know,
just a quick check in. And so Melissa and I have plans to do very similar work starting the beginning of December, really mapping out a plan and then executing that plan. So, we have a draft draft draft of a timeline, but I need some more work, but we'll be right. >> Okay, perfect. Any questions, concerns, anything else to add, guys? >> Well, thank you guys so much >> for all the effort. >> Yeah, >> I I do have a question. >> Please. Uh do does the board uh want us to think about um getting any communication support from a communications source or not? Because now would be the time. Now would be the time for us to either engage in that or uh get bids or have discussion around would we want to should we
pursue a referendum get some extra communication supports from some uh company >> like Dunovan Group. >> Yeah. Or or DND like uh we did for the audit or I mean there's there's a couple of agencies out there that we could you know get get some support from. Yeah, I mean I think uh putting out for information on a bid is not a bad idea. We don't have to use it. It depends on how things go. So I think that looking for that right away is good. >> Okay. >> Yep. We uh we can uh start looking into that then. >> I mean what would they sorry Jared, but like what would they um what would they offer that we don't already know about? >> So this >> Yeah. Go ahead and and Melissa, you can
certainly share the support that you you get from a group like that. >> I was just going to ask if you think that it would be necessary to hire on some extra assistance for communications during the referendum roll up or if you think that >> um so this would be my my second goound. Okay. I participated in referendum. I was very grateful to have Donovan Group last year because they they led all the preliminary design work, okay, which takes hours of time. So, I saved everything that they made for us knowing that um if we didn't have them as partners or another group, I would kind of just be following the same format of what they created timing updating the look of it and the messaging. >> Um so, it's helpful that they have provided
all that, but again, um >> I'm one person. Yes. And this, you know, this is going to be really important for the school district. It's going to be a tremendous amount of work. Um, so I I um I will of course leave it up to you all to decide and to our administrative team, but but again, I'm I'm one person. I'm still relatively new to to school referendums. >> Graphics and things. Is that what you're saying? >> Donovan Group did did all the preliminary design work for the referendum. They designed the posters, the flyers, the marketing materials, the mailers. um assisted with most of the messaging. Um so there were things that I that I did in support of that and I did in the house. Um I did a lot of the printing, the
distributing of all the materials everywhere. Yeah. >> But but they primarily they're they have a whole design team. Okay. They did all the big heavy lift graphic design work for the referendum. >> Got it. Okay. >> Lori is missing something online. >> Go ahead. >> Hello. Hey. Um are you interested? I know somebody who uh who helped do the last uh the 2008 referendum that was successful and uh she called me and had some uh suggestions yesterday. Would you be interested in her help? >> Sure. >> Yeah. I don't know who it is I'm happy to talk to. >> Okay. Um I'll send you I'll send you her name >> and contact. Sure. So, so the other thing a group like uh you know uh any communications group what what they do is they also
um you know put all of our communication meetings together. Um so that would be something that you know uh you know if we don't have that Jason's going to be taking the lead on that. But the the good thing about that is they're they're the ones who make sure that we keep to that schedule. Uh we keep to our communication schedule. We're informing. We're we're making sure that you know things like hey numbers of flyers and everything else going to this group's going out here next group's going out there next all of those things having somebody who can help organize all of that uh has been very helpful in the past they take all the minutes of the meetings and make sure that they're reshared back out and and that everybody just kind of keeps
going right um without somebody like that we Jason will certainly be taking on um that role Thank you for further explaining. >> Y >> that's why I said at least put out >> at least go out and check out bids because it's not like it's going to hurt anything and it would be very helpful and it will likely be something we need depending on the outcome of the survey. >> And if it doesn't come to pass, I'm like I'm mentally prepared. Jason, I know how I want this to look. You know, we'll be able to handle it. It will just be a tremendous, you know, a tremendous lift for the school district. We'll be even with a consultant on board. It's a huge thing. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Thank you for the guidance and we'll
get going on that. >> Thank you, Jared. >> All right. Any anything else for the strategic plan discussion? All right. So then we'll move to action items. >> I wrote down seven that I could share. I was like make sure I got them all. First is review I'm sorry revise the first tagline to strong community plus strong schools equals strong future. And then the second thing I wrote down is I will work with Lynn to bring that revised number one and number three tagline to the full board meeting. Okay. I think the sub team. >> Third thing I wrote down is uh Melissa and I will work with President Whartman just to make sure that video that 60 video uh he is in a position to be really successful for that first one in November.
Number four is I wrote down that um Melissa will work with Evan I believe his name is from the city just to get some support collaboration around those videos. I will check in with Sarah Tarpy about is is CDL credential something that is even something we can work towards. I wrote down that Melissa will work to add some community events to our our our spreadsheet uh including townships and the tavern league and any other great events that we could build towards April. And the last one I wrote is Dr. Burke and I will work a referendum communication getting some bids for that. >> Okay. Uh just to clarify on that um on the community engagement and communication um not only connecting with the chamber, the tavern league, etc., the craft fairs and so on, but
also even if they're not going to do like a in-person community, maybe they don't have the space or it's just like it's a little bit too much for them. Even if they'll take the flyers and cards and they'll put them up, that would still be a big deal. You know, I I think that our goal should be to create top of the mind consciousness and have like at least one opportunity to have this information going out during a high traffic period at these locations. So, and I mean, you know, you don't have to be the person who goes out and does all that either. If you call me at least and or you send me an email and you're like, "Hey, pick up these flyers, go to these places this week," I'll go and drop
them off at the places. You know, just let me know. I I I know how hard it is to hit more than two places in a day. It can be tough. It's there specific things you like obviously we don't want to give people a wall of text on a flyer. Yeah. >> So if you want to give me some ideas of like what you would like to be highlighted on there because it'll be post but it'll be post survey and still kind of a little early for referendum. So some of the the highlights that you would like mentioned on the survey to be out you know during the month of December and January in these places. >> Yeah. I think that once we get the survey back we'll have better ideas. But even now in
the next couple of weeks, if you have the opportunity to get some of those locations and just tell me where to go, I'll I'll for you and I'll talk to people. I like doing that. >> Is there any way that after the survey you could create something so we can inform the community on those flyers? Like how the community voted like >> I think that's kind of what you were talking about, right? Yeah, you know, then that would be the flyer we'd present to them prior to if we vote for a referendum, that information, we could let the community know this is what we heard and >> you know, >> and and uh the Spanish version for those grocery stores that mostly cater to Spanish speaking. >> Yeah, definitely. Definitely. I think that's a great
idea. Yeah, definitely. We should follow up on that. We should probably do that. I don't know if we need a subcommittee or an extra meeting or something because we won't meet in December for planning. I would say maybe we should meet in December for planning because we're getting closer and it's getting a little bit more so to to check in on that and to update some of those things. That might be a good idea. What do you guys think? >> I know is so overloaded. I'm sorry to say that. >> I'm happy to connect. Um I think from a from a logistical standpoint, it would be a good time because we I'm hoping we have some bids at that time, right? And even if we don't have bids, Melissa and I will start our our
regular sessions with the leadership group. >> Uh these committee events will be important. So if the team is open to it, >> I think policy meets though on that same, you know, if we're going this same day policy on that date, so it would have to be a different Well, if anything, I mean, it would totally be up to the board, but could we combine the HR and planning meeting together in December and just run them both? I don't I don't know if that's common practice, but it could be a way to since HR is already scheduled in the December calendar, we won't need a new date. We could just do planning and HR together. >> We've also done that with policy, doing planning before, after. >> Yeah. um just you know piggyback. >> Yeah,
I think doubling up meetings. I think the important thing would be try to stay away from taking a meeting that's going to have like an hour and a half of strong discussion and then pairing it with or planning because I'd imagine that planning is going to be some pretty robust discussion. >> I can discuss with Margaret. I'm not sure how full HR is going to be in December and we could do HR and planning on the same day if it's not very heavy. What what might that um date be? >> Um give me one second. I think I might have it written down already. >> Oh, I I know the contact lady to get a hold of >> something to HR. It's not They're all moved up because of >> Lynn hasn't sent the invites
out yet. Give me one second. And I got to find the >> the PDF document that was created for >> the meetings. >> I mean, we could loop back on it and we could work on that at a later date. I don't know. >> While you're looking that up, I just a piece of information for you guys and uh it saves me an email. Um there were 476, I believe, uh surveys turned in by 2:40 today. So, we're we're already well on our way, you know, getting there. And, >> um, they haven't even hit every home yet. There's a couple uh by Thursday or Friday are are still uh going um batch by batch through the postal service and out to families. So, just want to give you that update. >> Jared, are people coming
to the district to pick extras up? >> Do you know? Uh I believe uh we were at by end of day 31 or 32. Is that right, Melissa? >> Correct. >> So >> thank you. >> Yep. I I found the PDF that Tammy mentioned and human resources is scheduled for December 8th and uh policy is um scheduled for December 3rd. So we could tag under one of those. >> Yeah. Um yeah, let's let's see whichever one looks lighter and we'll go with whichever one looks lighter. I think that's as far as I go. I don't know if you've got any uh travel restrictions or whatever, Linda. >> No. >> Okay. >> So, it would be Wednesday the 3rd of December or Monday the 8th of December >> for planning. Tim, Tim, do you want to
u make that decision or you want me or you and I or >> Well, I don't want to I want to touch base with Margaret first to see how she suspects the HR agenda will look. I I think it will be lighter than policy just because I believe we'll have to do the Miola updates in December in policy Sam like the updates that were coming through. Yeah, I believe that's what we're aiming for. I guess Jerry, can you give us a little bit of insight on that? Are we looking at doing the further nola updates on the third? >> Yes. Uh, we are. We've got uh we met with Scott uh Brown yesterday. So, um just you know, short answer, yes, we'll have we'll have some more updates. >> Good stuff. >> Okay. I'll get
an email out to you and Margaret, Jason, just for us to figure out if we want it like like how Margaret anticipates the projected >> sounds good >> agenda to be in December. >> September 9 agenda I or to-do I just wrote Tammy will connect with Margaret around the HR December agenda and then Tammy and Jason will schedule the December plan. >> Yeah. And I'll loop you in Sam. Sure. If it needs to be added to the policy date. Yeah, definitely. Thank you. >> And is it fair to say that December's planning m planning committee meeting would predominantly be around referendum planning? Is that right? >> I believe so. So, we can have updates like if you got your quotes back for the communication or if you have some uh information available for like community
events or um at that point you might have a prelim some preliminary information in regard to the survey. I don't think it would be finalized because it's so close to the cutoff, right? I'm not sure how long it takes um school perceptions to get that data, you know. >> So, I don't want to say we'll definitely have it. >> Well, we weren't even going to meet in December. >> Correct. >> Yeah. So, that's the only thing we have. >> Yeah. Just verifying. Yeah. >> So, I wrote number 10 action items. Jason will start a December planning committee and share with Taylor. >> Perfect. All right, >> our past action items, I think we pretty much have taken care of all of them, Jason. >> I believe so. >> Okay. And then future agenda planning the
0972025 2026 calendar. >> That's a hold over. I have that on our list. I don't know if you and I we could talk about I don't know if we need that anymore. >> Okay. Okay. >> All right. And the next meeting date is going to be either December 3rd or 8th was it? Depending on >> Okay. For sure. January 14th. All right. And then all in favor of adjournment I >> I All right. So we adjourn at 651. It's a >> record. Woot woo. Guys beating you down.
