At this time, I would like to move on to the election of officers for the coming for the coming calendar year 2026. I'm opening the floor to nominations for board president to nominate Wayne. I second that nomination.
>> I also >> not necessary. Do we have any other nominee any other names for nomination for president? >> In that case, can I have a motion to close nominations? >> So move a second. >> Second. >> Okay. So at this point, we'll take a vote for the position of president. Miss Longberg. >> Yes. This is voting for Mr. D. I apologize. Just to clarify as president. Miss Orsy, >> yes. >> Miss Diaz, >> yes. >> Mr. Van Stone, >> yes. >> Miss G, >> yes. Miss Wise, >> yes. >> Miss Hill, >> yes. >> And Mr. D. >> Yes. >> Congratulations, sir. >> I happily hand the gavl over to you. Thank you much. Uh I'd like to thank everyone for your confidence in me and holding this position for at least another. Uh
so with that I'll uh open the floor for nominations for uh vice president of the High Point Regional High School Board of Education. >> I'll second Are there any other nominations for vice president? Seeing none. Okay. Uh could I have a roll call, please? That uh Allison Horson be named vice president of the High Point Regional High School Board of Education. >> Miss Longberg. >> Yes. >> Miss Diaz. >> Yes. >> Mr. Van Stone. >> Yes. >> Miss Hill. >> Yes. >> Miss Wise. >> Yes. >> Miss Gall. Yes, Mr. Dun. >> Yes. >> And Missy. >> Yes. >> Congratulations. >> Thank you. >> I know. >> Excellent. Um I guess we'll uh we still have to do a roll call for president. >> Correct. >> Mr. Anderson, Miss Longberg. >> Yes. >> Mr. Dunn.
>> Yes. Uh present. >> Miss Orsy. Present >> Miss Diaz >> present Mr. Van Stone >> here. >> Miss G here. Miss Weiss >> here. Still >> here. >> Dr. Ripley >> here. >> We have a quum. >> Uh I do not believe it's necessary to enter executive sessions. So I nine and 10 entering and exiting executive session uh will not be necessary. So we'll move to public comments on agenda items only. In accordance with the open public meetings act, we will open for public comments at agenda items only. At this time, each speaker should state his or her name and address. We have three minutes to address the board uh which will be timed by myself. We will limit the section no longer 45 minutes. Please be respectful and mindful that your comments are
being recorded. I don't see anyone in the room. Do we have anything on nothing on our uh virtual portal? So, may I have a motion to close public comments? >> So, move >> and a second. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? Okay. Um, moving on to appointments. We didn't get a chance to talk about this. So, I guess we'll discuss this as we go through. Uh, the first one is a recommendation um that someone is appointed as a delegate to New Jersey School Boards Association. Um, I would like to uh place my name in as the delegate. Um, I have attended it as a delegate in the past. I did not attend the last delegate assembly. It's twice a year and it usually takes place uh in um the Mercer
at Mercer County Community College just out outside of Trent. Um, it is a very formal affair. Takes about half the day. Um, I can't say it's extremely interesting, but it is very it is very formal and they do Robert's rules the right way. Um, but I would unless there's somebody that's very interested in attending that. Um now so what it means is we we also uh will appoint an alternate delegate that can attend um with or instead in the in the place of the delegate if uh the delegate is unable to attend. So um we'll be looking for somebody is an alternate delegate in the next place. takes place. >> It's a Saturday morning in April and I don't recall when the one is. >> I might be Yeah, it might be. >> No, it's
it's separate, but I think it's before I think it's early October if I recall. Yeah, >> September. >> So, um, so if there's if there's no issue, I would like to move that, uh, that I, Wayne Gun be the delegate in New Jersey association. >> I'll second it. >> If no comments, >> comments, I'll take call on that. >> Okay, >> Miss Longberg. >> Yes. Miss Orsy, >> yes. >> Mr. Manstone. >> Yes. >> Miss G, >> yes. >> Miss Hill, >> yes. >> Miss Wise, >> yes. >> Miss Diaz, >> yes. >> Mr. Dunn, >> yes. >> That passes. >> Excellent. >> Okay. So, the second item is the alternate delegate. And for this, I will solicit any uh anyone that is interested might want to uh serve as the alternate delegate. Doesn't mean
you have to. We do have to have a name. I believe uh in this place. >> I'll do it. >> Okay. >> Sure. >> That was >> Yes. >> Um, seeing none those, I believe we can proceed to a roll call. So, the motion is to recommend Heather Hill as ultimate delegate to New Jersey School Boards Association. >> I'll second it. >> Okay. >> Second. Sorry. >> Yeah. Yes. >> Miss Diaz. >> Yes. >> Miss Golf. >> Yes. Miss Weise. >> Yes. >> Mr. Redstone. >> Yes. >> Miss Orsy. >> Yes. >> Miss Longberg. >> Yes. >> Miss Hill. >> Yes. >> Mr. D. >> Yes. >> Passes. >> Okay. >> Um, third item is the recommendation for a delegate to the Sussexus County School Boards Association. Um I have no particular need to be
the delegate. Um myself uh I >> I I intend them all. So I'm happy. >> Yes. Um I would like to uh recommend myself in the discussion with Blair Longberg. Um I will be there myself as the sitting president of the Sen County School Boards Association. I don't believe I need to also be the delegate there. call. Um, if there's nobody else is interested in that delegate position, I'd like to recommend Mr. Blberg. Can I have a second for that? >> Second. >> No other discussion. Roll them. >> Miss Tia. >> Yes. >> Mr. Stone. Bam. Stone. Sorry. >> Yes. >> Miss G. >> Yes. >> Miss Wise. >> Yes. >> Miss Hill. >> Yes. >> Missy. >> Yes. >> Mr. Dunn. Yes. >> Longberg. >> Yes. >> Passes. >> And item four is a
recommendation uh to appoint an alternate delegate to the Sussex County School Boards Association. Anybody? >> I would be interested in that. >> Okay. May I have a second? >> Okay. Any other discussion? Okay. Uh, so the motion is to uh appoint Annette Diaz as alternate delegate to the Sussex County School Boards Association. >> Miss Hill, >> yes. >> Miss Wise, >> yes. >> Miss G, >> yes. >> Mr. Ben Stone, >> yes. >> Miss Diaz, >> yes. >> Miss Orsy, >> yes. >> Miss Longberg, >> yes. >> Mr. Dunn, >> yes. >> Passes. >> Um, I probably should have mentioned how frequently those meetings happen. They're a little more frequently than twice a year. Um, however, some of them are virtual. So, >> next one. >> We'll make sure I everybody I believe gets gets
notices about them by email. >> A thousand emails. A thousand emails. >> Okay. >> Um, anyway, >> as much. >> Moving to item five. This one, I believe, is a twice a year meeting. uh the Sussex County Edge Services Commission. We also need to appoint a representative and we are required to attend at least one meeting, >> two meetings a year. Um >> I'll do it. >> Oh, wonderful. >> This is letting everyone else volunteer. >> The end of the table. We're doing good here. >> Dr. Ripley and I have have gone to those I think Dr. Ripley a lot more than I have. Um, and it was uh not the not the most fun experience, but it's it's necessary. >> And we only it's basically you only have to attend the first portion of
it unless you get pulled into being on the uh uh executive team there, right? Then you have to >> I found it quite similating and uh food was actually quite good and the engagement with a very large a group of people from the around the county who I've gotten to know over the last 30 plus years was actually um was something that I actually enjoyed. So I just wanted to speak in that capacity. >> Yeah. >> So should the occasion arise where I attend in the future, I have no problem. >> And and it is a necessary thing. We do uh receive services from the Suss County Ed Services Commission. Uh and all uh districts are required to have a representative, right? Um could I have a second for that? >> I'll second that. >>
If no other or nominations, uh so the motion is uh to recommend uh the board appoint Dana call as representative Sus County Ed Services Commission. >> Miss Hill. Yes, >> Miss Wise. >> Yes, >> Mr. Bstone. >> Yes, >> Miss Diaz. >> Yes, >> Missy. >> Yes, >> Miss Longberg. >> Yes, >> Miss G. >> Yes, >> Mr. Dunn. >> Yes. >> Passes. >> Okay, we should go quicker now. Uh, six is a recommendation that the board declares its committee structure as follows. uh athletics and transportation, buildings, rounds, curriculum, finance and instruction, personnel and policy and negotiations as needed. Um I'll make that motion. I have a second. >> Second. >> Any discussion questions? Okay, >> Miss Lindberg. >> Yes. >> Missy, >> yes. >> Mr. Van Stone, >> yes. >> Miss Wise, >> yes.
>> Miss Hill, >> yes. >> M G. Yes, >> Miss Diaz. >> Yes, >> Mr. Dunn. >> Yes. >> Passes. >> Okay. Um seven. I'll move separately uh is a resolution uh whereas open public meetings act chapter 231 public law 1975 requires certain public bodies to comply with the provisions of section one of said act. Our proposed meeting schedule is as follows. And those dates are our dates for the uh upcom the current calendar year plus our reorganization meeting uh January of next. Um >> wait >> the um January 27th is is that the county board meeting >> January >> I had seen two dates floated >> uh for the county. it it's possible. >> That's the only one I've I've not experienced one that has been in conflict with >> and they rotate the
county meetings purposely for that. >> Okay. >> Um I don't believe we we should be changing our meeting for that. I'm saying that as city both positions. Um but thank you for letting me know that I may have to uh I believe that's virtual though. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Well, okay. Um, any other comments or dates that people have concerns with? Notice that the January meeting is set to the fourth uh Tuesday of the month because we have this meeting as the reorg meeting in the beginning rather than have it in our the third week. So, it does give us a little more time before our next uh public meeting. Aren't our meetings always the fourth? I was say >> are they always the fourth? sometimes on the third >> except for second March and
>> so we went the other okay then correct >> we certainly do the third Tuesday so >> I don't know that it makes a difference unless you have business needs that require >> folks went through this >> the only the only dates that really that matters with is March budget hearing and the presentation the public hearing of budget in April. So those are the only two dates they have required to fit into a particular window. Otherwise, it's at your discretion. >> Um do we have a date for graduation? >> We do not. >> There's there's we've had two snow days. >> Yes. >> I would never suggest that you want more. >> So >> Okay. Um, >> I can look and see what the current last day is. >> It's before it's before the 23rd.
>> Certainly. >> It may end up being the 23rd. >> Tenative last day currently is the 16th. Okay. I would likely not go beyond the 19th and take days away from spring break if it appeared that we would extend beyond the 19 to so we can we can change any of these dates moving forward with sufficient notice. Correct? >> Yes. We don't have to abide by them. Exactly. If we if we have a need for changing or even um >> we would have to revertise them. So if there's a concern for this list as a whole, it's better I think to discuss that and come to agreement on that now. >> Okay. I don't know. Is there any disagreement as a whole? >> No. >> Or maybe the November one is ready for Thanksgiving. >>
Is that a Tuesday? Yeah, I think we did that this year though. >> We did that this year. >> And and the July and August ones um tend to be problematic because of vacation schedules and such. um we have had in the past um cancelled one of those if we needed to as well. How about this? if if January 27th works except for the one conflict burden of it. Um let's take you know a few days and go through your own personal schedules and if you see any conflicts we can >> send notices out before we advertise. >> That's perfect. >> All right. But with that so uh I'll make the motion to uh accept it as is at least to get the vote. >> Have a second. >> Second. Any further discussion? >> Miss
Hill. >> Yes. >> Miss Weise? >> Yes. >> Miss Golf? >> Yes. Mr. Van Stone? >> Yes. >> Miss Diaz? >> Yes. >> Missy? >> Yes. >> Miss Lungberg? >> Yes. >> Mr. Dunn? >> Yes. >> Passes. >> Okay. Um item eight. Uh I is a recommendation that the board approves the code of ethics for school boards rules of order and parliamentary procedures for all meetings as follows. I'm not going to uh read that in its entirety. It's our code of ethics. Um we with any luck may have some training on that in uh the next couple months. Uh anyway from New Jersey school boards. Um so I'll make that motion to accept that uh resolution. May I have a second back? Any discussion? >> Miss Longberg? >> Yes. >> Miss Orsy? >> Yes. >>
Miss Diaz? >> Yes. >> Mr. Stone Bandstone? >> Yes. >> Miss Golf? >> Yes. Miss Weiss? >> Yes. >> Miss Hill? >> Yes. >> Mr. D? >> Yes. >> Passes. >> Okay, let's move these together. I will move 9 through um 9 through 18 together. N is recommendation to designate the New Jersey Herald and Sunday Herald as official newspapers. 10 is recommendation to designate Provident Bank as official depository. I'll make that motion. May I have a second? >> Second. >> Any discussion on those? >> Miss Wise? >> Yes. Yes. Mr. Ben Stone, >> yes. >> Miss Orsy, >> yes. >> Miss Longberg, >> yes. >> Miss Diaz, >> yes. >> Miss Hill, >> yes. >> Miss Gaul, >> yes. Mr. Dun, >> yes. >> Passes. >> Okay. Uh, I will move the remaining items together. 19 through 24. 19 is a recommendation to approve all bylaws, policies, and regulations that they be hereby continue
in force through December 31st, 2026, subject to revisions as recommended by the superintendent. 20 is a recommendation that the board approves all job descriptions subject to revision as recommended by the superintendent through December 31st, 2026. 21 is a recommendation to recognize the following bargaining units and contractual agreements. May I have a second? >> Second. >> Any discussion on any of those items? >> Um, call. >> Miss Gall, >> yes. Miss Diaz, >> yes. >> Missy, >> yes. >> Miss Longberg, >> yes. >> Mr. Van Stone, >> yes. >> Miss Wise, >> yes. >> Miss Hill, >> yes. >> Mr. Dunn, >> yes. >> Passes. Okay, we have no action items for the evening. Uh, so we have our second public comments section of the evening. I'm just going to look to see if we have any that came through virtually.
