[Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] Thank you so much. You know, I think the fall concert might be my favorite concert of the year. Um, because the freshman come in, particularly the concert, because the freshmen come into class and on the first
day that we play, I say, "Okay, let's play through as many scales as we possibly can." And they all look at me like, "I don't know scale," which is the first scale they learn, by the way. And uh, that of course is untrue, but they all freak out and they all go, "Oh, I made a terrible mistake in staying with band." And then by the end of the first week, they know everything they're supposed to know. And they come so far. And uh I just it's so cool to watch how watch them go from being eighth graders to being like true ninth graders now in high school. Um that piece uh called for winds is like a staple of the windb band literature. It's quite hard. It's a piece that we play in honor bands.
Like if anybody in this room has ever been to an ECMA or I'm sure you've played it. um as is the next one um which has five flats and for those who are not musicians um that's hard. It's really hard. They do a great job. So this next tune um on a hymn song of Phil Bliss uh and it features our woodwin section and our brass section. Enjoy. She's [Music] Hallelujah. [Music] Hallelujah. Heat. Heat. [Music] How are you? [Music] Hallelujah. [Music] Hallelujah. Heat. [Music] Power. [Music] Hallelujah. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] I know. Thank you so much. Um, we're going to switch over to Corell here in justify just a second, but we're actually going
to take our photo first. >> Shoulders facing this way. >> Nice. >> Parents, feel free to take pictures, too. Fabulous. >> Is this working? >> Yeah, it is working. >> Is this all right? I don't want to touch it. I don't want the screen to get too hot. Uh, >> is the brightness down on >> I don't know how to turn the brightness down. You're asking me to do phone things, you know? I don't know how to do that. Is it silicon? [Music] I thought right now. None of the [Music] I think that music with Naomi, but I really like my house. That's really not nice. I was going to stand up, but Everything looks good. Take a Those green. That's cool. [Applause] Let's go. [Music] praises [Music] unceasing thy [Music] Northward we shall be
ever faithful to thy meories when we leave [Music] for his light us on our [Music] Need to factory. [Music] [Applause] [Music] this school and I'm so excited to welcome you to the high school this year. So proud of this music department. I arise from dreams of thee. By mercy, I shall. I arise from dreams of thee. In the first sweet sleep of night, when the Winds are breathing low and the stars are shining bright. I rise from dreams of thee and the spirit of my feet have fled me. Who knows how to thy chamber window sweet the wandering airs they faint on the dark the silent stream. The cham hath odors fail like sweets in dream. The nighting gale's complaint dies with un heart as I was thine. Oh beloved as thou art. Oh, let
me from the grass I die, I fate, I fall. Let thy love and kisses rain on my lips and the island is pale. My cheek is cold and white. Alas, my heart is loud and fast. Oh, press it close to thine again where age will write at last. [Applause] [Music]
