Mrs. Curtis, come right down and join us in the front. The next question is for everyone else in the room. Mrs. Gargan, you ready? This is your favorite slide. >> This is my favorite. 006photo with the board of education and Dr. Maloney. We're going to begin this evening with Mr. Orllo. In a world that often moves too fast, Pedro was the steady hand and the warm smile that reminded us all to slow down and care for one another. He wasn't just a security officer. He was the guardian of our community spirit. A man who transformed a job into a calling. To see Pedro at work was to see a masterclass in dedication. He took his responsibility to protect the students of Basher with a gravity that commanded respect. Yet he did so with the grace of a true gentleman. Whether he was standing watch or monitoring the halls, there was a profound sense of safety in his presence because we knew that he cared for our children as if they
007were his own. Pedro has a rare gift for connection. Possessing the unique ability to see the individual within the crowd. He was the gentle soul who knelt to com who knelt to comfort a crying kindergartener having a hard time and the patient helper who offered to steady arm to an elderly grandmother walking and struggling to pick up her grandchild. He catered to everyone with equal respect, bridging the gap between the school community and our families. The children's instinct for his authenticity was clear. The constant waves that he and and enthusiastic hugs that they showered upon him were the greatest honors he could have received. His bravery and selflessness were woven into every fabric of his life. As an Army veteran who served as a wireman in Vietnam, Pedro understood the true meaning of service and
008sacrifice long before he walked in our halls. His heroic spirit remained vibrant throughout his career, earning him a well-deserved award for his quick thinking and decisive actions that helped save a colleague in heart failure at Mary G. Clarkson. He was a man who didn't just watch over the building, he watched over our students and faculty. He we will deeply miss Pedro for his tireless work ethic, his profound compassion, and that gentle sense of humor that could brighten even the most difficult of days. He taught us all that true security is more than just about safety. It's about making every person feel seen, valued, and loved. He will be greatly missed, and his legacy of kindness will forever be etched into the hearts of the Beayshore community. Congratulations, Mrs. Monica Adisani. >> Monica. >> Now, I
009just want to point out the photos that you see in our presentation were after our retirees declared their excitement for their retirement and delivered their retirement letter to my office.
