It comes through on one of >> Yeah, it comes through on the public. >> That's the one. >> That's just usually I am. Hi. Good e evening everybody. Oh my gosh, this is loud. Dean. Okay, I'll hold it out here. Um, apologies. Uh, we have some audio uh challenges this evening and Declan has been working really hard to get it up and running, but it's not up and running and we don't want to make folks wait. So, we're going to get started and call the meeting to order this evening at 6:33 p.m. Uh, beginning with the Pledge of Allegiance. Okay. Uh, first up, we want to do a few recognitions. Um, as always, like to recognize students and staff um or community members who have gone above and beyond, who have done some amazing things.

Uh this week we have a meeting every week for a few weeks. So this week um we are happy to uh note and honor um the announcement of our validictorian and our saludiatoran and I believe they might both be here or at least a member from the family. So, um, so congratulations to our validictorian for 2026, Paige Crop, and our saludiatoran for 2026, Declan O' Conor. Couldn't be two more deserving students. So, congratulations, Declan and and Paige. And Paige's dad, who I saw earlier, send her her our congratulations. Um the next thing I wanted to uh note is that today was the annual meeting for elevating student voices and we had four student representatives from Dwayneburg. It took place at Proctor's and of more than a hundred participants. Our very own Santino Bailey gave the

opening remarks. So congratulations to Santino. Well done. And then finally, uh, last week we had our second annual, I believe in the row, uh, talent show on the 22nd. Um, we had about a dozen acts ranging, uh, from elementary school to high school. And so, we are, um, we're thrilled that our our students came out and shared their talents with us. So, thank you for that. We do uh, have a couple of agenda changes or just one. Is that right, Serena? Do I have to pass? Hold on. Do you want to tell me and then I'll say it? Okay. So, the senior we're going to go out of order. Um and the senior class of 2026 is going to present first so that one of those representatives can run to their next obligation. Um and

I think that's the only change. Correct. Okay. So, um, be it resolved based upon the recommendation of the superintendent, the board of education approves the agenda for the red, excuse me, regular meeting with a Bosey's vote for this evening, April 29th, um, 2026. May I have a motion? >> Motion. >> Thank you, Francis. A second. >> I'll second. >> Thank you, Alyssa. Thank you for raising your voices. Um, comments or questions? All in favor? I. >> Any opposed? Any abstensions? Any need for board discussion of the minutes? Um or I'm sorry, of the agenda. My goodness. Okay. Uh then our next item is the acceptance of the board of education minutes. Um be it resolved upon the recommendation of the superintendent. The board of education approves the minutes of the regular meeting. Um adopt the

budget on April 21st, 2026. May I have a motion? Thank you, Tony. A second. Thank you, Ray. Comments or questions? All in favor? I. Any opposed? Any abstensions? Uh, all right. So, we're going to move right into our presentations and reports, and I will invite the representatives of the class of 2026 to the podium. All right, guys. Uh, we're the senior class of 2026. You go, Nate, because, uh, you're kind of the president and Centino. >> All right. Do you guys want to introduce yourselves? >> Yeah. >> Uh, I'm the president. >> I'm the other president >> and I'm just the treasurer. So, but I'm here. So, we're going to present. All right. So, for graduation, uh, I had to sign a bunch of documents cuz we ordered our cap and gowns and our stoalls

for the class officers, valadictorian and saludiatoran. And, uh, it's cool that we got those cuz everyone likes to have more drip for their graduation. All right. So, important dates. >> All right. Um, so on May 11th, we're going to have a DWI presentation from our That's our RCO or whatever. Yeah. SRO. Um, and then on May 16th, it's our prom. Uh, the walk-ins are going to be at 5:15 right here. And then the prom will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. And everyone's going to have to be there by 6:30. And then on May 18th is going to be the Balora on at Christ Episcopal Church at 7 p.m. And then June 15th, we're going to do a walk through at the elementary school. And then we're going to do a lunch and I think

we also get to play on the playground. Um, and then June 26 is going to be graduation rehearsal so we don't mess everything up. Uh, and then rehearsal will be is going to be at 8:30 and we're going to have breakfast which is pretty cool. And then graduation will be on that same day. Doors open at 3:30 and then the ceremony will be at 4. Oh. So, um, some of the details for our prom, the money for tickets and stuff, that's due, uh, this Friday along with, um, the prom contracts and guest forms, which are due by May 18th. The venue will be, uh, at W's Edge, the lighthouse. Uh, you can see some pictures up there. It's very pretty. Everybody's very excited. And the menu is going to be buffet style with um, our

class. We held a vote at class meeting to decide the options. So, that went pretty smoothly. And you want me to just keep um some of the fundraisers we did this year which were very profitable. We had the crispy cream at the beginning of the year, the bottle drive which we've been doing throughout the year and the Louis barbecue at the open house and all of it collectively have made for a very profitable year that will allow us to have a great prom and cheap tickets uh subsidized by the class. And that that's about it. Uh, any questions? >> Any questions? >> Like Declan on the mic instead of behind the mic. This is entertaining. >> Okay, I have a question. Uh, Santino for you. Um, how does it feel to be accepted to Cornell

University? >> I'm putting you on the spot. >> All right, Santino. >> It's pretty good. feels pretty nice. Yeah. >> Yeah, it's pretty cool. >> Uh there >> questions. >> Anything else? >> Thank you, gentlemen. Appreciate it. Okay. Uh I'm now going to invite the class of 2029. That seems impossible. Uh so I think that's our ninth grade class to come up and present with Mrs. Goal and Mrs. Don. Okay. Hi, we're your class of 2029. Um, this is our president, Lily. This is our vice president, Lucy. I'm your secretary, Anna. And our treasur is not here tonight, which is Quinn Walsh. So, our fundraisers, we did our Halloween bash that was held at the elementary school in October of 2025, and we raised quite a bit of money with that. And we also had

Crispy Cream, which was more recent in March of 2026. And Chipotle we just had in April, which was good as well. So, we made about a little over $1,700. We um we did exceed our goal, so that's really good. And money is good. Um community give back. We volunteered at the Dansen Fire Company um on December 7th and March 29th, and those were both very fun. All three of us were there and Quinn who's not here, but we all helped out there which was very fun. Moving on to our pictures from there as well. Um yeah, so the pictures we were helping ser or set plates and stuff and uh deliver food, things like that. And those are some pictures we got. It was very fun and I think we should all do it again

next year. Yeah. We're also going to try and encourage more people to do it next year as well. Um, so our goals for next year is like I said before, try and get more people to participate in the community give backs. Um, we h we did have a large number of people participate this year, which is great. That's fantastic, but it was mostly the same students. So, we're going to try to have a different group of people do it again next year. um and coordinate more fundraising opportunities. So, we've done repetitive fundraising opportunities. We've done a lot of the same ones both this year and last year. And so, we're gonna try and switch it up next year. We're gonna see what works. And yeah. >> Yeah. Oh, yeah. Any questions? >> Hi. Um, I

have to say I I really am a huge fan of the goal to try to get more people involved. That's great. >> And, uh, be sure to shout out and see if you can >> if you need any help with that, let us know. >> Thank you. >> Oh, does anyone Okay, GREAT. OKAY. My goodness. All right. Next up, I will invite the class of 2028, our 10th graders, and their adviser, Mrs. Hunter. Hello and good evening. You've heard from some class presidents, some vice presidents, some treasurers, and it's just me. I am none of those things, but I'm here to represent the 10th grade. So, the class of 2028, we've done a couple fundraisers this year. One was the Hoffman's car wash which was very profitable. We did that last year and it was

a success as well as this year. And we are currently selling uh bund cakes. We have a couple more cakes to sell to reach our goal of $500. Uh the fundraiser is not over yet, so we do hope to achieve that. Um we have a couple of givebacks we've done this year. Um, we will be collecting non-p perishable food items for the Our Lady of Fatima food pantry, which is actually something we did last year as well, uh, which was, um, a very successful endeavor. And this year we will be making cheerful cards for the friendship cafe, um, which will be actually also held at Our Lady of Fatima. We did a similar idea last year. Um, again, really successful. And as always, our goal for our fundraisers is to uh get a lot of

money for our class so we can have a nice prom. And um additionally, we want to continue giving back to our community with our community give backs. Mrs. Hunter, you have anything to add? >> Thank for coming. Our class, unfortunately, is all in spring sports, so she stepped up for us today. >> Thank you, Gwennavir. That was very kind of you. >> You're welcome. Does anyone have any questions? >> I don't think so. Thank you so much. >> All right. Thank you. >> Okay. And then last but certainly not least, we have the class of 2027, our junior class, and Mrs. Sagand. All right, we are class of 2027. I'm Drew Paluti. I'm the secretary. This is Connor Crop, our president. And then our vice president and treasurer couldn't be here sadly, but it's Olivia

Campbell and Evelyn P. Our fundraisers for this year were uh Smith's pies and coming up we have the budget vote and barbecue bake sale. For the Smith's Pies, we were very successful uh making over $1,300. And for the budget vote and barbecue bake sale, we look we're hoping to make around a thousand a little more. And I encourage everyone in here to come to the barbecue bake sale because we could use the money. Um, this is our community give back. In December, we made holiday cards for the Our Ladies of Fatima. Our second giveback this year was a pet food drive for the Skari Animal Shelter. And looking forward, our potential fundraisers are the back to school barbecue sale, crispy cream donut sale, and bottle can drive. And hopefully we've we're trying to just figure

everything out, but our prom will be May 15th at the Tater Barn. And that's the prom that last year's class had of that. So they like having proms and it's a good fit for us. >> That's all. Any questions? >> No. Okay. >> Wait, wait. So So you guys are going to become the seniors? >> That's true. >> You you're you're moving into the exciting things of like senior picnic and then the So, have you started thinking about larger plans past the prom throughout the year? >> Uh, yeah. So, actually, I know you just said past the prom, but to bring back up the prom, the choice of the Tater Barn was so we could have more money for events like the picnic and other things because it was very cost friendly. Not that it's

a bad venue, it's a very good venue, but it was our best our cost friendly option so we have more money for other events. Okay, >> Louis. >> Mr. Luwendowski, the one and only. >> Uh, any other questions? >> I really thought those pies were fabulous. The toll house when you put it in the oven for a little bit, it was a huge seller at my Easter dinner. So, I hope you guys pick that up again or somebody does. >> I think somebody will. I think that was a great fundraiser. We made a lot of money off that and I had a few pies myself, so they're pretty good. >> Thank you, gentlemen. Appreciate it. >> Okay, excuse me. Next up for reports, we have our student board members. >> Pass this down to you

guys or Oh. Oh, never mind. Thank you, Dean. >> All right. So, um we haven't had uh much happen since the last time you gave a report, but um for what has happened, there was a robotics meeting. Uh Declan, he uh he was in that. They did quite well. Um they didn't make it to the next stage. However, um I'm told that their robot did perform exceptionally and everybody had a fun time. Uh I know on the way back from a track meet, we uh the track team rode with them, the robotics team on the way back from the competition. That was a joy. Um and also uh many uh students and parents would know that with state testing going on in the Joe Bennett Hall, we've had to make arrangements for the lunch situation.

Usually we eat in here, but with testing, we've had to eat in classrooms and um teachers and administrators have been going around with a cart to give out lunches, which has been working out quite well, actually. Um so there have been no problems with that. It's um been handled very well. Uh and a lot of people working hard behind the scenes to make everything work with the you know, the construction situation and stuff. And all right, what do you have? >> Yeah, so um in addition to all that other stuff, it's also field trip season to the great displeasure of every teacher who teaches a region's class. Um we've had a couple field trips in the last few weeks. I know sports management has been on a couple. They went to the Tri City Cats

and got to see behind the scenes. If you saw the pictures on Facebook, it looked very cool and I was very jealous. Um, they also went on an esports field trip to Burn to see their like esports setups that they have there. And then the junior class went on a trip to Coopertown to go to the Hall of Fame and that was really fun. It was like it was last Friday and it was like a beautiful day. So that was really great as well. Um, also for just miscellaneous stuff, this is kind of old news, but we got new SRO's a while ago, but they just recently came into all of our English or history classes, and they introduced themselves, and they talked about some uh opportunities for kids who are interested in um being

police officers. So, that was cool. And it was nice to meet them officially. Um, and it's also been spring sports season. Um, I know a lot of people are there tonight. Um, so track's been starting up. Santino's been loving that. And, um, we're right in the heyday of meet season right now, which has definitely led to us to some problems. Like I think Santino mentioned, we had to pick we went to Still Water for Invitational and then on the way back we had to pick up the robotics kits which I felt really bad for them because we'd been in the sun for like eight hours and I would not have wanted to get on that bus. But um we've been definitely figuring it out. We've been having creative solutions to many of our problems. But

yeah, so those are those are our updates. Anybody have any questions for our students? Thank you guys. Appreciate it. Okay. Uh, next up we have our public comment. And as as always, I'll just um review the the uh expectations and and requests. Um that public comments section section is an opportunity for residents and residents only to address the board of education. Um people wishing to address the board must indicate their desire in advance on the sign-in sheet. Um we are not able to address any specific questions or comments, but we certainly may ask your name and contact information in the event that we think a follow-up is necessary or you're asking for a follow-up from us. Um, and we do uh remind everyone um that public session discussion involving individual personnel or students is not

permitted in open in open meetings. Um, so if there is someone wishing to discuss matters involving individual personnel or students, they should present their comments to uh the appropriate administrator. Um, with that uh I have one person on the list. If there's anybody else, I will certainly come back and ask. But Marceline Good evening. I'm Marceline Fuseler of Dwayne Road. Thank you for the opportunity to speak. At the last meeting, I asked about the district's use of outside consultants, including approximately $30,000 in spending. I appreciated receiving additional materials in response. After reviewing those documents, I still have a question about how success is being defined and measured. The reports describe themes, experiences, and planned activities, but I did not see specific measurable outcomes or benchmarks. As a community member, I'm trying to understand how the

board evaluates whether this work is effective and whether it is a good use of district resources. Could the board clarify what metrics or indicators are being used to assess the impact of these consulting services and when that information will be shared with the public? Thank you for your time and consideration. That was the only person that had signed in. But there is there anyone who had wish to make a public comment before we move to the next part of our agenda? Okay. Thank you. Okay. Uh so Oh. Oh. >> You have something to say? >> Oh, it's just Yeah, we'll pass it around if we need to. Yes. Thank you, Dean. Um okay. Uh we have today is a a um a not our normal day of the week um and uh not our normal

time of of of in the month for us to meet but we are here tonight um in explicitly because we are voting with regard to the administrative bud budget for Boseies because we are contingent district within um capital region boies and on the Boseies board election. So um given that we don't have a lot of items our on our agenda this evening I think I'm going to read these separately. So our next item 6.01 is the Bosey's 2627 administrative budget. Be it resolved that the board of cooperative educational services of Albany Scohharis connectity saratoga counties be authorized to expend the sums set forth in the administrative budget document in the total amount of 16,94,723 during the school year 2026 27 and to raise such sum by assessments to component school districts, non-component school districts, other

Boseies and other sources as required by law. May I have a motion? Thank you, Alyssa. A second. >> Thank you, Francis. Comments or questions with regard to the Bosey's budget? >> Uh, yeah. So, this is a vote on the administrative budget for Boseies um for cappa region Boseies and their uh capital budget. So, it's their buildings and it's the use of their information technology systems and their administrators and and everything along with that. It's not for programming. It's the system in place to make the programming possible. Uh, of the $16 million budget that includes their capital investment and their administrative fees, Dwayne'sburg is responsible for about $97,000 because it's based on our population as part of the overall capital region shape. Um, larger districts, Burnt Hills, North Colony, they pay Skenctity, they pay significantly more

because their population It's a pretty much flat mat is sort of the way it all kind of works out. I just wanted to explain that real quick. What exactly we're voting on. It's not it's not whether or not um our kids get to go to Boseies. It's whether or not essentially we're choosing to continue supporting that system. Thank you, Francis. I appreciate that. Any other comments or questions? Okay. All in favor? >> Any opposed? Any abstensions? Okay, next items I think I can do together. So, we have financial items. Um, health and wear. Oh. Oh, I'm sorry. Thank you. Okay. Uh, next item is 6.02. Um, which is the Boseies board election. Um, be it resolved that the Dwayneburg Central School District Board of Education hereby cast its vote for the following candidates to fill

four vacant seats on the board of cooperative educational services of Albany Skharis, Skenctity, Saratoga Counties for the term of July 1, 2026 through June June 30th, 2029. Uh those board election board of board of education candidates are Nancy Delprao, Naomi Hoffman, Sheila Keel, and Katherine Lewis. Uh may I have a motion? >> Thank you, Tony. A second. >> Thank you, Sarah. Comments or questions? I will just comment that um at the annual uh meeting Bosey's meeting that many of us attended a couple of weeks ago um we were able to hear from these four uh these four candidates. Um three of them are returning uh candidates uh to the board and and one is new and they all have very very impressive community service resumes. Um and they have devoted uh one of one of

the board members retired at 36 >> last year. One was 40 years of board service at Boseies. So these are folks that that devote their lives to public education. Um so it was nice to hear from them. All right. All in favor? I. Any opposed? Any abstensions? Now I will move to financial items 70.01 and 7.02 which are both health and welfare agreements. So be it resolved based upon the recommendation of the superintendent that the board of education approves the health and welfare service agreements 7.01 and 7.02. May I have a motion? Thank you Sarah. A second. Thank you Ray. Comments or questions? All in favor? Any opposed? Any abstensions? Okay. Next item is instructional personnel. Uh and the item is to accept instructional resignation. Be it resolved based upon the recommendation of the superintendent.

The board of education accepts the following instructional personnel resignation. Mr. Mark Gilmeister, special education teacher. Effective date 6:30 2026. Uh may I have a motion? No. comments or question? No, a motion. Oh my goodness. Thank you. Thank you, Francis. A second. >> I'm gonna give it to Ry this time. Thank you, Ray. Comments or questions? >> Um, I'd like to to thank Mr. Gilmeister for his time here. Um, I've gotten to know him pretty well over the past year. Uh, and he's he's really his dedication to the students in the school is amazing. Um, and the D&D club he's built up has really sort of created a place for those that that are interested in alternative ways of play. So, I really I think it's it's a huge loss to the district and I wish

him the best moving forward. >> I would like to also add that um uh Mr. ago, mister. Um, he advised that he was leaving the district not because of dissatisfaction, but simply because he found a place closer to his house. Um, and his family um and needed his support a little bit more. Um, he'll be missed and I'm I'm glad that he um found a um not I'm not going to say suitable, but a closer um employment uh continuing as a teacher that's Thank you. Any other comments or questions? Thank you, Mr. Gilmeister. All in favor? >> Any opposed? Any abstensions? Okay. Next item is with regard to uh CSE and CPSSE minutes. Be it resolved based upon the recommendation of the superintendent that the board of education hereby approves the cse and CPSSE minutes

from the meetings held on February 9th, 10th, 24th, 25th and 27th, March 4th, 5th, 6th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 16th, 17th, 19th, 23rd, 25th, 27th, and 30th, and April 1st, and 13th, 2026. May I have a motion? Thank you, Tony. A second. Thank you, Alyssa. Comments or questions? You must be exhausted, Danielle. It's that time of year. Having gone through this too, it's amazing because everybody gets individualized attention, too. So, it's really incredible how you built up the system. >> All in favor? >> Any opposed? Any abstensions? All right. Okay. Let's see. Um, next items are think I will do those separately as well. Um, approval of the 25 No, the 2526 school calendar revision. That's right. I'm sorry. Is for this year. That's right. >> That's right. So, um, be it resolved that

the board of education hereby approves a revision to the 2025 2026 school calendar to reflect that June 24th, 2026 and June 25th, 2026 shall be designated as early release days for students in UPK through grade 6 rather than UPK through grade 5 as previously approved. May I have a motion? Thank you, Tony. A second. Thank you, Sarah. comments or questions? >> Why are we keeping the sixth graders here longer? >> So, normally when um kids are combined for regions exams, um if we were a singular building, they wouldn't be here. But moving the sixth grade over here to create the middle school, um we received an email from state ed u few months back, right? I think in December. um unsure where it was solicited from, but said um we had read on your website

that sixth grade students weren't going to be in attendance during regions exams in January and they cited regulations that that only is for grades 7 through 12 and that we would have to demonstrate significant hardship for us not to have them come here. So it will be a time for um those students to maybe go on field trips or have other activities that we can plan for them. So if I was princess for the day and I could make the rules at SED, I would have said it's better to have the building empty. But when you get a direct email from state ed, you follow the rules. >> Thank you. Any other questions or comments? Okay. All in favor? >> Any opposed? Any abstensions? Okay. Next item is a proposed scholarship award. Be it resolved

based upon the recommendation of the superintendent. The board of education approves the proposed Dwayneburg Basketball Association leadership scholarship. May I have a motion? Thank you, Ry. A second. Thank you, Sarah. Comments or questions on the scholarship? only to say thank you to offer that to our students. Um I know it was a yeah I know it was a scholarship that was offered within their organization but they've now opened it to students. So um okay all in favor I any opposed? Any abstensions? Okay. Our last item uh is is justformational not a vote. um just to announce that the board of education is going to be hosting a community forum to give an update on the um discipline audit. The forum is scheduled for May 7th, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. and it will take place right

here in Joanna Hall. The forum will provide an opportunity for community members to engage in discussion and ask questions and share feedback regarding our audit. Um so we invite anyone um to come and I know that we're having a similar meeting for uh faculty and staff earlier that day um so that everyone has an opportunity to ask questions um oh oh yes can I add that even though it's not on the agenda asformational? Okay. Um we had uh on Monday evening we had a feedback session with the community for the code of conduct. We got some really great feedback. Um had a very lengthy conversation um very very helpful uh with several members of our community. So we are very appreciative for them for being there um and for offering that feedback. Um teachers and

fac faculty and staff will be meeting having the opportunity to meet and give feedback tomorrow afternoon after school. And uh once we take that feedback into consideration and and make some edits in the document, then we are going to open another uh forum to review it again. Um probably including everybody at that point um rather than separately. So to be to be determined as far as the date um time will probably be 6:30. Um but um but that was really great and and we we're going to add another one once we get feedback from our faculty and staff. Okay, I think that is all we have for this. Um I do know that we are going to go into executive session for the well I'm going to say that in a moment again for the

purpose of of contraction contractual negotiations. Um, so to let everyone know, we will not be coming back into open session. So, effectively, this is the end of our public meeting. Um, may I have a a motion to move to convene into executive session for the purposes of contract negotiation discussion at 7:11 p.m. Thank you, Francis. A second. Thank you, Tony. Comments or questions? All in favor? Any opposed? Any abstensions? Thank you everyone for being here. Appreciate it. >> You should all go look at the new windows in the cafeteria. They're beautiful.
