001Good evening and thank you for joining us tonight. Can I get someone to approve the agenda? Action 1.02. >> Move it. Second. >> Is that >> Yes. >> All those in favor? >> I opposed. Abstaining. Passes 600. In the event of an emergency and we need to evacuate the building, we have two points of exit in our room. You can go down the stairs out the building and move away from the building as far as possible. Could you please join me for the pledge of allegiance? >> I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. This evening for public forum, we have one community member, Joe Arlene. >> Ready for warning already? >>

002We're ready for it, Joe. Good evening. >> I just about got you out of myself. >> Yeah. >> So, I'm Joseph Arlene. I've been elected to the legislature 22nd district set up for the Swiggle County. It uh contains uh second board and third ward and it goes all the way to an account and dog county line of the south. So that'll be the first of the year. But I got a question on attendance. How's uh your attend your uh district school attendance going? School attendance for the students? We normally don't uh do back and forth conversations during public forum, but um I don't know if you have that information with me. >> I don't know off the top of my head. I know we we're seeing um improvements in attendance as we've been looking through

003our data this school year. So, it's my understanding with a constituent that I talked to is that with the uh district, the soy county social service, >> okay, >> recipients, their children don't attend school. There's some reason there's some reason for that. Is there some reason that that the school district and DSS isn't coordinating to find out if these kids are coming to school or not? I don't think that's accurate. Uh we actually have quite a few conversations with DSS and and coordinate with them often. >> So that's like on a daily, weekly, monthly, >> uh all the above depending on the situation with the student. >> Yeah. [clears throat] >> Joe, do you want to leave your contact information so that Mr. um Lawrence can uh answer any of your questions that you might

004have on that? So, I mean, it's my understanding that I mean, they don't always attend. They stay home. These are recipients that are these are people that are on our tax dollar. Their kids should be in school. I don't know how accurate it is. This is what I got from one of the constituents and she's a teacher. >> So, again, I I'm more than happy to give you a call. We can talk about this. Um, I will say for all of our students, there's no guarantee that all of our students, depending on if they're on social services or not, are attending every day. We try to make sure that they are. Um, so I wouldn't throw a a a net at one group versus another and saying this group is attending while this one isn't.

005That's not accurate at all. [clears throat] >> That's what I got from her. >> Sure. >> Yeah. So, if you can give me a call and we can talk about it. >> Sure. Would you rather me talk about it in private or >> We typically don't even do this during a meeting. So, this is not typical for us to go back and forth answering questions in in a public session. So, >> how would you go about it? >> Uh, it's a great question. We really shouldn't be right now. >> Well, what it is is that's why I asked you to give your contact information because now that the team knows what your question is. >> So, should I call you direct? >> You can always for sure. Definitely. And this way they can get uh

006the information that you need to you because I mean right now they don't have those numbers sitting in front of them. >> 100%. >> Yeah. So, but I do appreciate you here. 33.6%. >> And the 3 minutes is up. I don't know if you want to continue, but the 3 minutes is up. >> Okay. Well, we'll definitely have Mr. Lawrence give you a call back to further discuss that. Thank you, Joe. All right. Can I get someone to move action 1.06 to approve the November 25th regular meeting minutes? >> Move it. >> Second. All those in favor? >> I opposed. Abstaining >> here. Passes 501. Um on our president's report, we do have a couple of meetings that have been postponed. Um our Central New York School Board Association meeting tomorrow night. um this time

007of year uh has been very busy for that committee and so they're going to postpone that virtual meeting until uh next month. Um and I believe on the 17th our policy committee meeting has also been cancelled and we will uh at this point you're looking at the January meeting for the next one. If that needs to change, Mr. Lawrence will let us know. So we have health and safety meeting coming up. Um our holiday recess we have two weeks this year. Um, and then January 12th, title one family engagement, the in person and the virtual, which is nice to hear that you guys are getting a little bit more u coming in the evening and the virtual part has been successful. So, uh, we'll continue board members to please pass that out to the community

008about that uh, to get some of our parents um, to come to those meetings as well. Uh, we have regular board meeting on January 13th, our health and safety meeting, policy meeting, and another regular board meeting on the 27th. um our lobby day still we don't have a time but usually that's all day we would set up something with our >> We do have a time now we have to it came after I already >> what time is it >> 8 to 4 >> in Albany >> so if anyone is interested in in doing that we could set up some car pooling uh routes uh that is on February 11th it'd be a great opportunity to get in and talk to our Congress people helping to especially on that small city school formula um and

009different things that we need here that we feel we need for our district. It's a great opportunity. Um I do know that Swiggo County School Board's association with Central New York will um be trying to set up uh a meeting with Mr. Barkley. Um usually that's in early. That's usually before uh the lobby day, but um I will keep you guys posted on if and when we get that that date locked in. Um you guys had your DCC meeting last night. We had a nice turnout. >> Yes. >> Very good. Very good. All right. Uh and with that, we're going to pass it on over to the superintendent. >> All right. Thank you. So, we do have a a few items on on the agenda this evening. Uh the first one, we're very excited to

010hear from Mr. Ell and and Mr. Kenny who's along with him um to get an update on our fall athletic and uh seasons and celebration of our our fall athletics. and we hope to continue with a a winter update and and a spring update as those seasons wind down throughout the year. Mr. >> So, thank you for inviting me in tonight. I always like to come uh and, you know, give some of the highlights uh for all of our athletes that we have here. Um I do I did bring a student. Um it's always great to have a student here because we can get a student's perspective. So, I'm going to turn it over to Mason. Mason Kenny's a senior this year. Uh plays soccer, indoor track, and lacrosse. uh captain on probably all three

011but soccer for sure. So we just finished that. So Mason's going to go through our slides here and then we we'll have some time to ask Mason some questions at the end. Uh as a student it's nice to meet everybody. My name is Jason Kenny. I was invited here by Mr. O. So I want to say thank you. Um I threw together a little slideshow to highlight the athletes in all of our high school. There was a lot of good things that were done this year. So in this first side you can see Brandon Coleman on Fton's varsity football team waiting for the play to start. And in the background you can see Mason went, Aiden Holidayiday, Kobe Drake, and Will [snorts] Dome. They were all selected to first team honors. Um this is the

012varsity girls volleyball team. Um on the photo on the right you can see Maline Lee about to serve the ball. I would like to say congrats to the team for um making scholar athlete. Bailey Frost was selected to player of the year and Claire Dempsey was selected to first team all which is pretty impressive stuff. >> The entire team made calendar. >> Yes. >> So this is my team. This is the varsity men's soccer team. And on the photo on the right, you can see me, number nine, and my friend Chase Spoon. And we are the team captains. And our record this year was 97 and1. We hosted the first sectional home game in seven or eight years as well. Um, I was selected for me and Chase Boon actually both people in the right

013photo were both selected for second team ally as well. and Ken Ceden was selected for first team. >> Sorry. [laughter] >> Oh, wait. Go back. >> Oops. >> So, yeah, that's pretty much what I just [laughter] said. >> I was going that one. >> Oh, and the whole team made uh scholar athlete. >> What does scholar athlete mean? >> So, scholar athlete is what is it? Um, so that means that 75% of the team has an average of 90 or above. >> That's amazing. >> Yep. The coaches, I'm pretty sure across across the board, all teams prioritize making sure that kids grades are up to date and if they're not, they don't practice and they do homework. >> And Mason, do you say how many teams made scholar athlete football? >> I'm not sure. >>

014How many? >> All of one. >> All but one. >> Yes. >> Good. >> Okay. >> That's awesome. It's impressive. >> So, this is the varsity tennis team. Um, you can see Claire Briggs in these photos and she is serving the ball to start the match. Their record was 8 and8. Um, the team is scholar athlete as well and they qualified for sectionals for the first time which is very impressive. This was the men's golf team here at GRV. Uh they made the um the team made scholar athlete honors as well. Miles Kits made or took fifth overall and qualified for states. And I will say section three golf is very competitive. [snorts] So that was very aggressive. And and just just so everybody is aware, states is actually in May for golf which is

015a little odd. It's a split season. So, they qualify in October and then they actually play in their competition in May. >> Okay. >> So, this is the cheer team. Um, in the photo on the right, you can see Bella Caukins and Gianna Allen or I'm sorry. And the cheer team made the scholar athlete team as well. >> I feel like I should have asked now. >> No, it's awesome. It's just amazing. It's absolutely amazing. This is the varsity women's soccer team. You can see the defender Claire Murray clearing the ball out of the back. So, they made um the scholar athlete team as well. Gianna Thurlo was first team and all-star team. So, big shout out to Giana Thurlo. That's very impressive. And Elena Stewart, Aubrey Bush, and Lilia Thurlo were um second team

016honors as well. This is the varsity cross country team. Um, the team made the scholar athlete. I'd like to say congratulations to Jocelyn Canteen for making the state meet and placing 33rd with a time of 19.22. And congratulations to Thomas Wood for making second team all league. >> 19.22 for court distance. We had two division one commits on our fall signing day. This was Allison Maidville. She is headed to Yukon that is in Connecticut. And Cali Shaw and she's head to Wagner. And I believe that's in Rhode Island or >> Staten Island. She's down to Staten Island, >> New York. >> And and both of those were for um across. So, so I'm gonna I'm gonna uh jump in here for a minute because uh Mason's not quite up to date on this part. So,

017um this is part of the student athlete advisory committee. Uh they had a training day at section 3. It wasn't at section 3. It was actually, if you could see, it was at the dome this year. So, um that was in club uh 44 at the dome. Hayden McAuliffe um he was uh selected this year um to represent the unified athletic program. Um first time he'd ever been to the dome. um huge smiles on his face. Uh there he is. There was uh 40 students from 35 35 different school districts. Uh they learned about sportsmanship. Um and that photo on the far right on the the gentleman in the black is one of the top basketball officials. He g gave a great presentation on sportsmanship uh and how student student leaders and student athletes could,

018you know, promote. Uh they also had a a a discussion about uh teen gambling and the dangers of it, signs of it. Uh recruiting um and it was a great day. It was a full day for for the kids and uh there was a lot of lot of different items there. Um at so during our our training there was a uh section 3 finals uh football game going on and at halftime they called down the 35 or the 40 students and they named and listed off each single one of them over the loudspeaker on center field. >> So Hayden got to hear his name by the SU announcer um Bolden you know GRB. So yeah he was he was all smiles all day. Um he got he got free gear. Everybody's wearing shirts and they

019got jackets and so it was a great day for all of them. So >> excellent. I think that could be it. >> That's it. Excellent. >> Any questions? >> No. Just wow. >> Yeah, >> that's great what your athletes are doing. [applause] How do you get them all to study so hard? >> How do you get them all to study so hard? >> Um so we so that is you know we do preseason meeting with the coaches. Um that is one of the goals. Um you know we talk about that all of our all of our coaches need to submit goals and that is you know one thing that we promote is like they they should all make student the scholar athlete program. Um and I I know like at the fiveweek mark uh for

020for the fall sports we only have the fiveweek mark to work with. And as as the grades start coming up, they they're like, "Hey, get your grades in. Get your get your work in. Do your work. Get school on time." And um if if the kids aren't in school on time, you know, our coaches really work on that. >> If you're not there, you don't play, right? You know, the whole care getting them to do what they want to do. So >> that's wonderful. >> I just remember >> years ago in the in the past, not is uh you know, well, football players get away with things. You know, they don't have to study as hard. They're on the community. So, all those states are gone. >> Yeah. >> Mr. S, is there um programs

021that you're seeing just a huge growth in enrollment? >> Growth in enrollment. So, so it's funny you say that because I do have the enrollment numbers. We didn't put them up this this year. We're just >> just mixing things up a little bit. I can get those for you if you need. [clears throat] >> So, so the numbers are really about the same within, you know, three or four from each team. Um >> well I know like golf I've over the past few years there's been a dramatic increase. I did that also different programs. >> So so yes so some sports are going up but then the other ones go down. Right. So our numbers are staying about the same overall like our modified football this year. The last two years we had 60 last

022year and we had 51 this year. >> Um so [clears throat] you know the you know football numbers are definitely increasing. um you know when we're we're always promoting some of our our other sports such as you know cross country like everybody gets to run like there's no playing time issues right everybody gets to run and >> you know if you're running 30 minutes or 19 minutes like they cheer just as loud sometimes louder if you're running 30 minutes right so like we really encourage you know cross country we encourage some of these you know we call them off sports right that that really get them out there and get them in good shape it's lifetime activity and you know you could have dedicated runners like dazzling or you can have kids who want to

023get in shape for wrestling and that's exactly what we have. Yeah. >> So, it's good >> and and I'm hearing too that at the modified levels we have some pretty um ambitious coach coaches who are really pushing these kids and doing some fun like with the cross country, you know, doing some things that you wouldn't normally have seen in the past which are making them and want to continue to do it at the high school level. So, um that's that's great that we have those coaches starting them off down there. So, so at Cross Country this year, just so you know, they they did a a fun run, a night run, um, and they they ran through the the pallet area around Lanigan. Um, and they had glow sticks and they had glow >> paint,

024right? And they they decorated themselves and they had a they had a ball, right? >> And and a lot because the >> coaches were so enthusiastic about it and really got them to buy in. They're still running. Like the season's been over for over a month and they're still running. there, but they went on Sunday down the down the down the Destiny. I think they did an eight mileer. So, you know, they're really they're out there and they're really >> uh the kids are starting to buy into the program, too. >> And it's treadmill season now because it's cold and these kids [laughter] are still out there putting the miles in. >> I don't even want to walk to the car, but >> Oh, well, that's great. Thank you so much both of you for

025sharing everything that's going on in our athletics. >> Great. >> Thanks, guys. Great job. >> Thanks. >> Sorry, Doug. You got to follow up with that one. >> I know. >> It's usually cases that [laughter] >> so into the uh exciting uh world of policy. So, um I know we've had a few conversations just about our the state of our policies um as a district. Um our policy committee in our last meeting, we we had a pretty decent conversation about um some options for us as a school district and and looking at the state of our policy. So we and and looking at just in general um some of our our policies seem to be dated or haven't been updated in in quite some time. Um and really looking at where where we stand as

026a district with our policies that came uh forward that so we have a a NISSBA policy base. Our basic policy manual was is a NISBA policy manual but for quite some time we've been using updates from Eerie 1. Um, so really the the updates we're receiving as a district don't really jive with the policy base that we have. Um, so over time I think our our policies just overall have have kind of gotten out of whack a little bit. Um, and it's put us in a place where it's hard to determine what needs to be updated, what has been updated or or how has it been updated. Um, so we've taken some time. Desire's helped tremendously wi with this and getting us some some costs. on on what it would be look at look like

027to a do an audit on our policies and then b um look at different policy manuals. So uh Erie 1 and NSBA are the two main groups that would provide uh they're really competitive very very uh similar in what they would provide for school district policies. Um the difference between the two of them costs are very much the same. About $3,000 to do an audit, about $10,000 to just completely um change over our policy manual and and kind of start over, start fresh. Uh the the big difference between the two, and this is really where our conversation went as as an audit committee was um the aid on through Eerie 1. So, uh, if we switched over to an Eerie one service completely, any work that they would do, we do get aid, um, back

028on that. Um, we'd be looking at most likely a 2-year process to do this. Um, so they really would come in, help us chip away at this, set, uh, a new, um, base for our policy manual. Um, in this case, I think it does make sense if if we did go through Erie because of that aid back Erie one. um you know, I want to have a conversation with them about do we even have to do the actual audit itself >> if we're just we know that we need to go through and and um that might save us a little bit of money as well and and not doing that. So, I haven't had that conversation with them yet. Um I first wanted to put that out to the board that this is something that

029I I think we really need to do as a district and and it makes sense and and I'm not sure if anyone has any questions about that. Like I said, we did have some conversation about this in in our um policy committee as well. >> Does does this um do [clears throat] they come in with a uh a set a base and then each individual district I'm wondering how would will our district then fit them? We go in and look at those policies and fit them to our district. How does that does the wording differ? Does >> would every district that deals with Erie one have the same wording? They they do. So So typically it's it's a kind of a base set of policies that they have in their manual. Um we might have

030a few like I I know over the past couple of years we've had some updated policies that or or regs that are really specific to our district. >> Um so we would as a policy committee want to go through and take a look at okay we're going to earmark these policies that we want to make sure that they do fit our district. Um, I know in my prior districts though, it it really those updates that we would get from Eerie 1, which we were starting to notice. I was questioning a little bit some of the updates we were getting weren't coming with the same red line that we were receiving in in my prior district and it was [snorts] because kind of the level of service that we had bought into wasn't um at their

031highest level. [snorts] So once we get this base policy manual set up, Erie 1 really does a nice job in going through here are the policies that you should be looking at and updating each. It's really monthly. They they can send them to us uh based on what's changing statewide. Um and they really they highlight for you this is exactly the language that needs to be changed and they give a rationale as to why. So it would change our policy committee meetings a little bit and that it they really would give us the rationale as to why the policyy's changing and if there's something very small that we would need to tweak we would but I don't think we would be doing the work of redlinining ourselves anymore which I think may have been happening

032in the past with the group >> um where this uh Eerie one would be doing that work for us and um it's that's all done by attorneys so it's it's really vetted So then so they come in for let's say the 10,000 or whatever and then is there's a an ongoing expense for them to update or it's a onetime shot and they update us forever. >> So the 10,000 would cover them providing us with that new base policy manual. Um any updates from there there's a service that we would buy into annually and then depending on the level of service that you buy into that's kind of what they provide you. So I I would recommend going to that higher level. So we we are receiving the updates from Erie 1 that you know they

033think really we need to keep up with. >> It's important to reiterate like what [snorts] Mr. said was that with the area one it's aidable so we'd be getting and what the policy in the past I've been under several years is we would have a lot of questions and then we'd have ask our superintendent to clarify with the lawyers that would an additional expense >> and that I think it's a cost savings going this way really significantly because of the amount of input we had from our lawyers previously in the past years now how would a little bit kind of. >> So, so we were using Eerie 1 for our updates, but they were updates to NISBA policies. So, I think that's where there was a little bit of a breakdown and maybe confusion and

034looking at >> here's what Eerie 1's telling us we should update, but the policy didn't really match. So, I think there was a lot of work to try to make the two match. >> Yeah. >> and so technically, we already using Eerie 1. [snorts] So, this is just >> adding on. Yes. Just wanted to clarify that. >> Yeah. And how do those because I know some of the superintendent regulations go along with the policy. So what happens with those regulations? >> Yes, we would want to preserve those regulations. So I think that would be a lot of the work we would end up doing in the long run is making sure we're a preserving them and then also making sure they align with >> policy manual. Yeah. >> All right. >> Okay. >> Anything for

035a background for everybody? We've been talking about it the last three years. We have a lot of policies. >> Yeah. >> And you really there are only what about what 80 to 90 that are actually required by law to have, >> right? >> So a lot of the other ones are to help you know more specific or dealing with different things that aren't. But again, we've had Eerie one advice on those. It's just making it consistent across the board. So when you know people go on and look, they can say, well, it says check out this, but this doesn't exist. So making it easier for the public to understand what's going on, making it easier for us when we need to go in and look when someone brings something to us. So I think that

036that, you know, cleaning up why that's so important, especially with policy being kind of the guidelines and laws of the district. You don't want something half done and leaving it up to chance, >> right? >> No. Yes. >> Yeah. So I think this is perfect opportunity for us to >> make a switch and and try to get this cleaned up as much as possible. Yeah. Okay. >> All right. >> Do we have to vote on it or what's do >> No, this is more information me sharing. Um not something that we necessarily have to take a vote on. Um I think it just again makes sense for us to move forward. >> Y >> and with our I like it. >> Yeah, I think it's a good idea. Now, the policies that we have that

037aren't required, are those things that over the years the district has added for a reason and do they go then go away because they're not part of the base package? >> Correct. So, that will be part of the work once Erie One provides us with that base package and then we would want to look at okay, what isn't included in this and is it redundant? Is it something that's even necessary anymore? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> And if it's something specific to our district, you guys would work on that to keep it >> correct. And I think that's where you talked about the ear marking, right? So if there's a policy we want to keep and it might not look the same once gets their hands on it, but still we need the policy itself. >>

038Yeah. >> Fine. Okay. >> So I'll provide more updates as we move along here, but um really next step for me is having that conversation with Erie one to see what what makes sense. Do we even do the audit or is it just a working to update the policy manual al together. So >> more to come. >> Then the third item that we have, so our ski club is looking to take a trip here in in February. Um Saturday, February 7th to Sunday, February 8th, they're looking to go to the Hely Valley Resort, which is out in Elicateville. Um, so it's it's zero cost to the district. The the club, the students would be paying their own way. Um, they would be looking at a group rate because they're planning this with Mexico as well.

039So, it would be a joint trip to hopefully save some money for students from both schools. Um, looking to take a charter bus out to the resort. Um, would obviously be staying a night there. No cost to the district. Um, we do whenever we even use a charter bus, our transportation department would be checking that bus to make sure that it's safe and it's okay for our students before they leave. Um, we just need to make sure that the the board is on board with this um, prior to them going. So, I figured I'd give you a little more uh, I guess background information before you have to make any decisions on that. So, I guess are there any questions on the trip itself? >> Where is it? They're going >> um it's to Holiday

040uh Valley Resort, which is out Elicateville. It's kind of south west of Rochester, right down the >> Buffalo. >> Yeah, Buffalo South. Yeah. >> And I think I asked you, this does not impact their school day, correct? >> It does not. It's a Saturday to Sunday. Okay. Yeah. >> So, they should be back fine. Obviously, if we run into major weather issues, then that would impact the the trip, but >> Yep. >> That's it for my >> All right. Thank you very much. All right. We move on to 4.01. Um, this are reports [snorts] from Gwen, our student rep. Thank us. >> Yes. I had posters, but I left them at home and accident. Um, so what you see on your page is Future Business Leaders of America, FBA, annual family fun night, which will

041take place on December 12th, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. And upon admission, which is 5 and under free, um, 5 through I guess 6 through 18 is $5 and then 18 up is $10. You will have a movie in the auditorium for free which will be 30 minute increments for the first hour and then an elf movie for the second and then we have free ornament making free cookie decorating and then we have art club joining us for kids. So that is Friday December 12th and then the next thing we have is national honor society. Currently we have 29 members in our chapter. This year we will be introducing 47 students in one singular year. >> Wow. >> And you have 29 >> right now. >> We're bringing in an additional 47. >> Yes. >>

042That's fantastic. >> You guys are doing something. >> Yeah. >> That is great. When is [snorts] did they do the induction night already or when is that? >> Uh it's sometime in January. >> January date. >> I think as it gets closer. >> Okay. Well, I'll keep mentioning it if there's people meeting as it gets closer. >> That's great. Everything else going well? >> Yeah. >> All right. Any concerns that we might need to know about on our end? >> Okay. Perfect. Thank you. Action 5.01 accept financials. >> Move it. >> Second. >> All those in favor? >> I opposed. Abstaining passes 61 or 600. There's no one this time. [laughter] Action 6.01. Approve committee on special education. >> Move it. >> Second. >> All those in favor? >> I opposed abstaining. Passes 600. Action

0436.02 to approve the overnight ski club field trip. >> Move it. >> Second. >> All those in favor? I >> I opposed abstaining. Passes 600. Action 6.03 to accept the memorandum of agreement of the Fulton Teachers Association. Move it. Second. >> All those in favor? >> I. >> Opposed? Abstaining. Passes 600. >> All right. Can I get one of my colleagues to batch personnel action 7.01 to 7.04? Move it. >> Second. All those in favor? >> I >> opposed. Staining. Passes 6 0. Start with our board forum. Miss Pearl, would you like to start us off tonight? Um, yes. I want to say thank you to Chris and Mason. It's fabulous what you guys are doing. And Mr. Ardawini, congratulations on your win for the legislature. We hope to see you around. >> I'll I'll

044be around. >> Good. Um, thank you, Gwen. And thank you guys. I I have to tell you, me personally, I was sitting around last night. I'm thinking, I got to get out, go to the DC, and I and I went, you guys, you guys do so much. I just God bless you. [laughter] That's all I can say. >> So, the me meeting was worth getting out in the cold. >> It was. It [laughter] was. >> That's wonderful. That's wonderful, Mr. D. more. >> Well, uh just want to thank you, Mr. Als, and uh Mr. King. Uh yeah, I'm impressed. I'm impressed with the number of student athletes. You know, I'm trying to think back when my kids were in school, whether or not there were that many. Uh Gwen, the the honorable I mean, from

04529 and adding 47, if my math is right, that's >> a lot. A lot. [laughter] get your abuses out. [laughter] 76. >> I was a product of Fton schools, too. [laughter] [clears throat] >> But yeah, uh thank you uh Mr. Lawrence and your staff. I mean, it's those numbers are are just impressive. It's hard to believe that we have a attendance problem if if it's in fact out there. Um I like the idea of everyone. I like getting those. I mean, I remember being on the policy committee and going through those line by line by line. Wonder did we make any progress. Um, Mrs. Holland, Miss Mrs. Ms. Hollandbeck, thank you for all you do over at the school um and bringing us all the information and and the uh I'm looking forward to the

046fundraiser. Um, and um, Mr. Erene, congratulations. Thank you. >> I think you live over by me. Are you on you on Daisy Lane? >> Wow. >> W. Okay. >> We said third words. I do have a heart of wing behind me. Phil. >> Congratulations. >> Thank you. >> And that's >> Thank you, Mr. Connor. >> Uh I think again this the sports what an accomplishment to have all these scholar athletes. I think, you know, it's great to see not only taking on sports, but be able to balance that, you know, with uh with education. I think whatever you go into in the future, the ability to balance all these different things is going to help you with everything you end up doing. So, I think that's great to see. I'd also like to say after

047being at the dcc meeting last night, I thought it was really great. You know, specifically we looked at kind of comparing students at the younger the older level. Then we did, you know, parents and teachers responses and we tried to look at where were their connections, where were their disconnections. And it was really nice to see the areas where everybody was actually feeling, you know, whether it was 80% 90% doing well. And some of them it was interesting to see because maybe it wasn't up in that top bracket of 80 to 90%. But it might have been 20% better than we were before. So there's growth in different areas. And I know we don't have the exact on all of that yet, but there's still is the survey still out? >> Yes. Yes. So maybe

048one of you can throw out where to find that as officially if anyone wants to get out there and do that survey still because we're still taking in answers and want to hear what you have to say. But having all that information and continuing to figure out ways to not only reach out to more people but to synthesize that data so people understand what's going on in our community. Thought you guys did a great job. Just so everyone knows I was sun on snow was my choice last night for optimism. We all have to do an icebreaker going [laughter] in. And uh so I just felt like that was important to share out there. You know, some people wear those curtain of the trees, but I got to say me, Sun on Snow. I don't

049know. What were you Lori? >> I'm sorry. >> What were you for your choice? >> Sun on Snow. Oh, um the optimistic one. >> Oh, you and me both. Optimistic on the board. >> And I think that's all I got for tonight. Congratulations again for everyone tonight who spoke out. All right, Mrs. Hutchinson. >> Um, I What can I say? My colleague said it all. Um, Mr. Ardwini, I just want to say thank you so much for coming tonight. I think um when Mr. Lawrence gets back to you, you'll be very relieved and impressed with his um information. If I can remember, >> I'm sure we can work it out. I'm easy. >> I think um the last time when we were talking about absenteeism, I think we had a 91% attendance rate. Um we

050I'm sure once Mr. learners gets a hold of you and talks about all of our hard work our home school leaison do and all the work that goes even into our Mckin Vento students. We really have a lot of outreach and um programs here. Uh Mr. L's, thank you so much for your presentation. I've said it once, I'll say it again. I think you have one of the hardest jobs in the district. I do not wish to be you, but you do an excellent job. Thank you so much for all of your presentations um and all of your hard work with our student athletes. I mean, you know, those scholar athletes, no wonder why we have 47 going into the honor society. >> Um, DCC was great last night. I mean, we had really some

051fantastic conversations. Um, we're just doing a lot of hard work there. So, thank you for our admin team for working so hard for that. And that's it for me. Have a wonderful holiday, everybody. Did we get more um parents involvement at the DCC and and and we had quite a few students show up too last night? >> Yes. I I think between last year and this year, I think we have um more comfort level and sharing their thoughts and feelings too. Like I think in the past we've seen um participants sort of sit and watch and listen. But now I think there's active conversations and I think that's and the students I think are feeling much more comfortable. I think >> me and my son may have given some suggestions. Liam Liam slid his principal

052a note. I was like he's like things teachers can work on. I was like that did not come from me [laughter] and he slid it and Mr. He goes this is really insightful. But it was all of the conversation that we were talking about that um was excellent. Excellent conversation. >> Well that's great that we're seeing more um [clears throat] input and you know this will be helpful to your team. So yes >> that's great. That's great. Thank you. >> Of course he's helped the students. >> Yes. And Mrs. Cooper was my son's favorite person. [laughter] At least take it to >> Mr. O'Brien, you all have really said it all. [laughter] Um, but Mr. Arwini, congratulations on your new election. And Mr. Els and Mr. Kenny, thank you so much for your presentation and

053your hard work. Um it's it's amazing to see how there's balance with with excellence in athletics and excellence in academics. Um, and I'm happy to see the open communication that's being had at these meetings and that with with talking about moving forward with um our policies and just it it it's great to see that we're taking you feedback and [clears throat] we're looking for feedback. Um, and I look forward to see how the district and we decide to move forward with it and and bring Fulton forward. >> Thank you. >> Um, I know that cold season is starting to hit because we had quite the week last week with um a delay and early dismissal all in in one day. One day. >> Um, and [laughter] I have heard [clears throat] from parents that things

054were handled well. Um, and then I know we uh had like a little cold building there for a little while. So, all of those fun thing that things that old man winter throws at us um hearing that the district is handling well um as they come up. So, hopefully no more snafoos with our heating elements and different things and >> we're still working on some of [laughter] that. Yes. >> And um I I am I'm thankful for uh your team's action and getting our kids to and from school safely. do. So, that is wonderful to hear as well. Um, with that too, this is a really crazy time of year for our teachers because we only have what, another couple weeks of school. So, our kids are going to start getting a little bit excited

055about uh the holidays and and all the sugar. I'm sure that we'll be going around with celebrations and stuff, but I do hope this is our last meeting of the year. So, I do hope that everybody has a wonderful holiday season. Um, that December does not throw tomorrow's weather. that's going to be nothing. So, I'm [clears throat] I'm hoping that, you know, we don't get too much more of the old man winter weather quite yet and that we can all enjoy the uh season coming up. Um, thank you, Gwen, for uh joining us this evening. And, uh, we look forward to what you bring us in the new year. >> And, um, Joe, we look forward to seeing you at future meetings. And, um, Olivia, correct? No, >> no, I'm Jolene. >> Jolene, sorry. Sorry.

056Sorry. I um I'm so glad that you joined us this evening. and uh you be working with Gwen. It will be great to to see what you guys bring to us um next year. So, uh with that being said, we are going to go ahead and move on to our second public forum. So, if there is anybody out in the audience who wants to join us, Mr. L, do you have anything else to to share with us? [laughter] >> All right. Um with that, we will then move into our executive session. Mr. Lawrence has asked to enter an executive disc executive session to discuss matters about related sale or lease or property owned by our district. Um Tim, so that's Tim and Fallon. All those in favor? >> I opposed abstaining. Passes 600. Thank you

057so much everybody. All right. Thank you. Could somebody please move action 9001? [laughter] Anybody else? And all those in favor? >> I opposed abstain. Passes 600. Thank you everyone and have a great evening.
