Um so, thank you to all the voters and all the people who pushed cuz there are several of you. You, you, you specifically. That was amazing. But, I think that
and we kind of talked about this last night, the vote was still close. So, we still have work to do every single time we have one of these every year. Every budget we need to work that hard. Um and everybody here helped big time. So, thank you for that and we appreciate you voters. We appreciate the no votes and the yes votes because the no votes give us something to work toward every single year because if it was yes, yes, yes, it doesn't really give us anything to push against. So, we appreciate that, too. All right. So, I need a motion to approve consent agenda items as listed. Make it second. Uh discussion? No? All good? Okay. All right. Uh all in favor? I. Opposition? 008comments or discussion wise or otherwise? All right. All in favor? I. Opposition? Abstention? So moved. Congratulations again, sir. Oh, we did that part. So, we are up to Madam Superintendent known. Why did we skip the walk? No, that's right here. Why did we skip the furniture? Oh, because we had done the walk on before. That's why we're so We'll check that. Good back. And you left with as we did the walk on the >> [laughter] >> So, we were doing that before. I am. Brian has a I lied. Brian, update All right. So, just on the capital project, we have been working I've been working with Brian Broster, AD, on our weight room so that's part of the project. Um so, we have been working with Dynamic Fitness um for equipment to revamp our weight
room. So, these are just going to be some shots and we do have an actual drawing rendering. So, looking at some bench and squat racks with a nice ingrained Germantown logo so that won't fade. It's not a sticker, that's going to peel off. It's actually three layers of metal. So, each color is its own layer. So, it's cut out with Germantown I think we got to use that somewhere. Like, that logo won't fade, right? >> [laughter] >> So, it's just giving you a snapshot of that angle. Our weights will be logoed with our school name. And zoom in on that a little bit. Just for that. So, this would be is a layout of what the weight room will look like. So, just to give you guys kind of an orientation. This side is currently
where you would enter um the door is kind of technically right here in the corner. We're taking out this chunk to go into the maintenance garage. Um the weight room actually probably right with this upright bike is where the wall currently stops. So, they're kind of just losing this little chunk of weight. But, we start out with walking in, we have three treadmills, three two ellipticals, and two stationary bikes. This is a vertical squat rack. So, instead of it kids are sitting in an upright better than laying on their back and doing squats or doing leg presses. It kind of helps them get ready for they're actually free weight squatting. Um we have two free weight squat and bench setups. We actually currently have our own. That's why it's grayed out. So, we have one
piece of equipment that we are keeping in that area. So, we'll have three set up there for them. This is a row and lap pull down machine. So, they can sit on the floor and pull or pull straight down. Over here is called a fitness trainer. So, those are like the It's not bands, but they're all cables and you can pull do either arm rows or however you want to do it. Um this is our own leg press and leg extension machine that we are keeping as well. And then brand new the dumbbells that are all the same sizes or not same size, but the same layout. Each from 8 to 80 lbs. So, we don't go anything heavier than that. Um or 5 to 80, I'm sorry. And then from 5 to 30, we
actually have double set. So, if you have multiple multiple. Every piece of equipment that we're getting that is free weights comes with two sets of each size. So you have 445. So you could pull from another one if you had somebody who could bench or squat much more weight. And we are keeping our 45s and all of our other plate weights. Um What are the bar weight for the weight for the the bars? I believe they're the standard 45 lb bars. Yeah. Um we can if there I I That's actually one thing that we didn't actually physically ask, but we can confirm and get a smaller and build for the other group. And each of these machines that are standard they also have pull down like pull up bars on them. Kind of see that
a little bit right there. So just where we're at. So I will say we did budget 50,000 in this. We got it to $50,400. So this is right there. That is turnkey. We buy it, they assemble it, put it all together, and we just go use it. So Um What's the square footage? Do you know roughly? I'm just trying to get an idea of Actually, I'm here somewhere. >> bigger than my apartment. Yeah, where was it at? Yeah, 1,540. Yep. So we we utilized all of the funding that we allocated towards it and really all the equipment that, you know, we Bryant felt the school would need for its sports teams. What about the flooring on there? It's um a rubberized flooring. >> Okay. Is it tile or It's I believe it comes in sheets.
So it's rolled out it's about I'm going to say maybe 5 mm 6 mm thick. I have a sample in my office of it. Um we'll be a we're working on the final coat of it cuz what we and Bev originally picked was a solid black with red speckle in it. That I believe is for some reason discontinued, but they've brought a couple more that I'm just waiting to get those samples. But it still will be black base and might be white and red speckle on the side of it. So fun. We're with the school colors. Yeah, okay. Yeah. Any questions, concerns? From the board, is there going to be electric running for the plug-in all those? >> Yep. Yep, we have all of the layout for what the equipment needs. The only things that
do need plug-in are the ellipticals. You can plug-in I mean for the treadmills, you can plug-in for ellipticals and the bikes for like a TV screen if they wanted to watch something or, you know, if they wanted to put like some sort of exercise and motivated thing on there for them to watch. >> Yeah. Like, "We're going up a hill now." Thank you. Um yeah. Great. That's great. So, Ryan's really stoked about this. I think this is going to be awesome for the kids. So, we're ready for it. Um so, we'll have slip covers for the benches. Our plates will be logoed with our school and our ship. And then, you have a red, white, and black. There's that logo. That's again three different pieces of metal all cut into it. Those colors go through.
There'll probably be some kind of cleaning agent right there. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Oh, well, the kids can't use technically any cleaning. So, it would have to be up to the teachers and custodians. Okay. So, we can't have students use >> Just something to wipe it down. >> Yeah. Yep. Yep. We have a peroxide-based cleaner that we use throughout the building, which is safe. So, Yeah. That's what we'd probably be using in there. Even what they have at a gym, students can use. Like, I can't let a student use anything with with like a chemical in it. Yeah. Okay. Vinegar and water. >> [laughter] >> And will they be able to use it like before school? Um well, it has to have a staff somebody in there to supervise. So, But, could potentially,
right? >> Yeah, so if the coach is there, All the kids go to the gym before school. >> Yeah, so if there's a coach that wants to set up like a weightlifting class before prac- before school starts for practice or something like that, yeah. So, I mean as long as there's an adult in there supervising them. Yeah. Thank you, Ryan. No problem. >> Appreciate it. We're all set, thank you. So, that keeps going with us. Thank you, guys. Great. So, I guess you know, we are live streaming and I thank you Ryan for making that happen. So, I just want to personally thank No, I'm going to do it. I just want to personally thank our community and school community and larger community and the board. It has been quite an experience and uh I've
learned a lot. You know, I learned a lot and I don't take one of those votes for granted. And we recognize the fact that that was a hard decision to make for many of our voters and we know um the economy is not wonderful and we asked a lot this year. And we will follow that up. We will perform at our very best and continue to aspire to be better each day uh and live up to that trust that the community put into us. So, I just want to say thank you and to your point, we just have to keep working that hard and continue to be transparent and be good listeners of our community. So, I thank the community for that trust. Appreciate that. And in keeping with trying to always be better, I
am so proud of the three new hires we have for today like Stacy's not in her head back there. We worked really hard to find these three good candidates. Our interviews were very um stringent and we had wonderful candidates in all categories. Um so, I'm really proud. I feel like they're bringing bringing the best to our district and it will only be better because of the three of you. So, thank you and welcome. You are officially Clippers. Um and we are holding elementary teacher interviews uh tomorrow. Uh so, that will continue. Uh we are getting really close to naming a special education hire, a teacher hire, and we have a few more positions up there still but that but most of them closing up so that's great. We have our book fair happening this week.
A big shout out to PTSA and Gabe Balkan for all of that hard work and for making that better every year. I'm thankful Ryan has already earned several PTSA volunteer hours this year. He was volunteering at the book fair. Yeah, and I got tattooed today. Just notice that? You're bigger than you used to be. >> [laughter] >> I like to do it in scrambled. No, I got tapped. Um, Stacy and I are visiting Windsor Central School District in Windsor, New York outside of the Binghamton region next Tuesday Thank you. Wednesday and Thursday. So, we're attending the Future Knights Conference. Windsor Central School District is the recipient of many state and national awards for being up on the forefront of new and cutting programs from a pre-K through 12 system and it's a wonderful product. Rural
school, smaller. So, we're going to learn as much as we can to see what we can bring back to our district. So, we'll be there for those two days next week. Friday is a give back day. It is one of our snow days that wasn't used. The district will be closed both Friday and Monday and we'll return on Tuesday. So, thank you. Thank you. They will change the meeting. Uh, public comment on non-agenda item. >> [laughter] >> Um, I just came from the middle school high school awards night and it was so great. It's always really nice but it's really lovely. The community was so supportive. Like the kids were really cheering for each other which was exciting. And every student who had, you know, award after award stacked up, got like even more ovations.
So, it just felt really good to see them so happy about it. Um, and we had a bunch of great volunteers who worked there. So, I just wanted to say thank you to those guys. Anyone else? All right. Do you want to motion to adjourn? So moved. Second? Second. Any discussion? No. All in favor? I. Any abstention? I'm abstaining.
