Dr. >> M >> here >> Mrs. Song Mr. Sharp >> here >> Mrs. United States of America and to the republic for it stands one nation under God indivisible and justice for all to approve the agenda as Mr. >> Mr. H. >> Yes. >> Dr. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Young. >> Yes. Public participation. We have Catherine. Sorry. Who'd like to go first? All right. So I'll um kick us off with uh just an overview of academics and instructions from the primary of the high school. So the primary um recently the second graders went on a trip to the Franklin Park Conservatory which was a really great success and also the first graders went on their field trip which was also imagine quite enjoyable. Um they should the primary should be receiving butterfly kits soon. So

the whole building will be partaking in this thanks to the PTO. Um preschoolers had their um art show in which they had different themes including pop art, ocean art and space art and they had a great time with that. Uh the PBIS tune outs were completed after Easter break and it reminded the students of what the AC way was and encourage them to continue to work hard. This week the primary is celebrating month of the military child by recognizing active duty and veterinarian families. So on Friday they will be doing stations including proper flag holding PT obstacle course, dog tags and military gear. Moving on to the elementary Ohio State. Um the ELA state test began yesterday and continued on through today for their third grade students. And then fourth and fifth grade um students

will be taking the ELA test beginning tomorrow and continuing on to Friday. There is a military lunchon on April 30th from 12 to 1 for any active military families. Also, third graders placed 32nd in the country and 94th in the world. and the man and then the fourth graders placed 27th in the country and 80 88th in the world and the fifth graders placed 32nd in the country and 94th in the world. They also had a recent production of Milan Jr. and they did an amazing job with that. Moving on to middle school, um the middle school um dance is coming up soon which is very exciting. Uh the third quarter instead of trip is currently in the works and more information about that will be giving out soon and the students will also begin

state testing in the next few weeks. Within the high school, state testing begins next week with the sophomore state and English language arts test. And in the week of the 27th, the biology, American, and history, and government state test will take place. Moving on to student life and extracurriculars within the high school, the high school drama club recently on put on a production of the box. It was spearheaded by Julie Reynolds and it was a great success. The band is currently gearing up for their spring concert on May 5th by working through their four songs and making them sound the best they can. within the hope squad. Um they have recently kicked off their duck hunt with multiple ducks hidden across classrooms and hallways throughout the high school. Once a duck is bound, it can

be returned to Miss Nef and the students entering a raffle for gift card. I heard some of them include um Chipotle, Cabelas, and Chick-fil-A. So really, really competitive out there for them. Um the track and field teams recently attended the Federal Hockey Invitational um this past weekend in which both the boys and girls team play second out of 10 teams. The next meet is tomorrow at Alexandria. Tonight, the varsity girls and boys um softball and baseball teams are currently playing a way up in Carol. Both teams have just begun their seasons and are looking strong. >> All right. So, I'm just here for the from the FFA. We're just kind trying to report on some events that happened since last board meeting. So, since last board meeting, we've sent some of our senior capstone welders

up to Columbus State for their exams. Emma Strickler, Catherine Buckley, Harley Dean, Alen Dun, Stephen Ferguson, Chase Hannah, Mason Jones, Gary Kimberly, Abby King, Malachi, Landon Slo, and Mic Tipple all became certified welders from that. And then our chapter also got to go to the Logan Square dance. That was a lot of fun. Really got to put our dancing skills to the test. And then we also have been this past month working up to our spring skill CD states competition. So we've attended a couple invitationals and have done pretty well at that. Along with that, four of our members went out to Washington DC for the National Association of Agricultural Education seminar. Emma Strickler, Riley Strickler, Kate Buckley, and Grace Martin. They went to advocate for career tech and agricultural education in Ohio. While out

there, they got to meet with senators John Houston and Marie Moreno, as well as multiple housews. We also got to see ACFA alumni member Josie Mik, who works for the House of Committee. And then our chapter finally recently got the opportunity to put all the exhibitational to work at the state skill CD competition in a mechanics. Our team placed 18th at state. Aonomy placed 11th. Equin placed 33rd. Livestock placed 17th. Poultry placed 16th and nature interpretation placed fifth. And then along with nature interpretation, Greece helmet actually placed second individual in the state. These are really big accomplishments and we're really proud of our members. And then we've also started our spring mulch sale. This is a great fundraiser. Kind of helps raise money for the chapter. So if anybody here would like to buy some

mulch, feel free to reach out to Mr. Tilly or any ACF member. And then we have also been working toward our annual award banquet. Our banquet will be held May 9th and it's a great opportunity kind of just to recognize all the hard work and dedication our members have put in over the year. So along with that, I also have some invitations for everyone if you guys just want to take one pass. Thank you. So, we have a lot of activities coming up and we just wanted to thank the board and administration for everything you guys do. >> Next on the agenda is [laughter] >> okay. Curriculum council update. Would you like to update that? >> Um, so curriculum council tonight. Um just before this meeting four broad categories that we tackled Miss Nef gave

a an update on financial lit literacy and the curriculum. It's a structured curriculum um that is for juniors and a few seniors that pick it up later in their their time here. But it is a structured curriculum which you really emphasized was um kind of a new thing. Kids start out with a vision board where you want to go and then jump into big broad areas like emergency fund, cash for cars, building wealth, loans, financing, budgeting, taxes, savings. We were looking through the the actual workbook is pretty extensive. Everything that's covered, you know, from credit to insurance and how the real world works once you get it from your mom and dad. Uh, which is um really fundamental, I think, for for the kids. Miss Cochran updated us on career day. This is going to

be for all middle school um kids. Um thus far, 17 career presenters. Uh kids are going to choose their top five and then get grouped from there into three sessions in the morning and they'll get to kind of rotate through different presentations and really get a real life perspective of what it takes to be a welder, what it takes to be, you know, a banker or a respiratory therapist as an example. Um the second part of the day in the afternoon, the sixth and seventh grader is going to go to a career oriented movie. You said hidden >> as an example. Yeah. Um, and then the eighth graders are going to go do real world, real money, real world, which is essentially uh the game of life and they got to work their way through

real life situations and realize they can't go to what is it seven brew I believe that's anyway um letter gave us a update on career explorations which is a required semester for sixth graders and gives them a chance to explore careers and career career clusters and we were actually looking at the website while she was presenting. So how the Ohio Department of Education Ohio means jobs 16 career clusters and I was looking at it's actually a pretty impressive website. I mean you can really shepherd kids through you know how to get there so to speak. Um but they work with career kids um to complete activities within certain career clusters. Um and then they have a monthly speaker that comes in. And then lastly, Mr. Sharp gave us an update on a and a education

for next year. So we are moving from two a teachers to three um which gives us an opportunity to marketkedly expand our offerings within those courses. Um so Gavin Eep and Bryce Bennett will be joining us next year. um Bryce through a cooperation with the the career center >> satellite >> the satellite yeah and so he'll be stationed here but his FTE will be through them but both of those gentlemen will be bringing a new kind of new curriculum especially within animal science and then forestry I think would be >> is that bunch of things >> a whole bunch of things whole bunch of things and then Mr. Sharp gives an update on FFA and all the wonderful things that continue to happen within that space. >> Next is legislative report. >> Um so legislative

uh report um is actually kind of quiet right now. Um not a lot going on in the legislature. um our two governor um candidates are making a lot of promises right now that will probably never reach fruition but you got to promise first and so um Rahwami is proposing to roll back property taxes it's pretty vague but that's what he wants to do there are estimates that we would lose about $6.6 6 billion in funding. Doesn't really address that, but it's a promise right now. Uh, two House bills right now. House Bill 611 and House Bill 745. 611 will ban name, image, and likeness. 745 will allow name, image, and likeness for high school students, but with guard rails. Okay. So, they're actually two sides of the same coin. One banning, one allowing. um they'll

have to do it get out over the next you know few months in committee for one or the other comes to the floor. So they're both sitting in committee right now. One other thing which I thought was interesting which is kind of a sidebar on legislative OSAA is going through their bylaws and constitution right now. And so some of the interesting things that would affect us, um, issue 2B from OSAA would allow public to public transfers for students who sport does not exist at one school would allow them to transfer to another school just for that sport. You can go and correct me if I'm wrong, Dr. Edwards, you can go private to public. >> Yes. >> But you can't go public to public. And so if you want to swim, but Fairfield Union has

the swim team, you could theoretically with permission from both superintendent transfer. If that passes, um issue 6B, which that was I feel like this is the Iron Rule. Um parents must fully relinquish all responsibilities to previous residents before a kid can transfer in. So, you can't just rent a house in Taz Valley and Westfall and Chilikopy and Loganel and have your kid go to each one of those schools. You have to fully relinquish your address. Either sell your property, relinquish the lease, and it's pretty expensive. You can't just jump around with a new address every year. Um, I thought that's kind of interesting. And then issue 7B allows transfer student eligibility to be restored immediately with a memorandum of understanding from superintendence that the transfer is necessary for physical or mental well-being. Um I call

this the Justin Fields rule because Justin Fields transferred to Georgia to Ohio State because of the mental anguish of being Georgia and it was the forerunner of essentially the transfer portal. This [clears throat] is the baby steps towards transfer portal. So, >> do they educate anybody? >> Well, I don't know. I [laughter] just I just thought that was very interesting because that's how the transfer portal at the college collegiate level started. We could transfer because I I'm sad at Georgia. I want to be happy at Ohio State. So, just some interesting things that are coming down. >> [snorts] >> One of the things that uh you talked about the transfer from public public, you know, office work that was actually played in by a public school superintendent or proposed, you know, public school superintendent and

it was to basically give public school students the same opportunities that >> Yeah, it was it Mansfield. They they called out Mansfield because Mansfield and Lexington had different sports and they weren't able to go public to public and maybe that's I'm not sure but the part of the team >> I think it's a good idea. I mean, we've had FCA kids wrestle here, you know, because FCA doesn't have wrestling. If a kid wants to swim [clears throat] and we don't they're going to be here. I just think it's a good idea to >> just for [clears throat] [laughter] I don't even think that's part of it. the legislator did it for everybody. >> And I will say it would give schools, especially in more rural districts that can only offer, you know, football, basketball, baseball.

Some of those kids may want to play soccer. They may want to play golf. There's a lot of small schools in southeast Ohio that don't have Southwest schools like football. So I'm sure somebody that's [clears throat] Thank you. Uh, building principles report. Who would like to go first? >> Awesome. First preschool [laughter] up. All right. So, our preschool students, they are wrapping up the end of their year. Um, it's great time for them. So, they're showing their way. Um, recently they had their art show. Um, and the preschool really blew it out of the water. I was really impressed like went up over and beyond. um they've really worked hard throughout the school year making this artwork and then they displayed it. They had um kind of kind of different things happening here between 24

classrooms. So um there's the pictures of some some of their their artwork displayed. Um they had a really good turnout with the families to to take a peek at that with the what the students have been up to. Um, and then they also engaged in an Easter egg hunt in the day of play last week or a few weeks ago, which is a big deal for them to work on gross motor and that piece because that's a huge component in their little world. And then, um, last week they did have the opportunity to have a visit from repres representative Miller and so he got to kind of pop through and I know in Dr. Edward's newsletter, there's a picture of the kids and um of him visiting one of the preschool classrooms and um they

really enjoyed that time and it was kind of neat for the preschoolers kind of go oh this is you know really important person but I don't know how he's really important. Um but they they knew that they were able to recognize that and you know eventually hopefully they you look at those pictures and like oh when they start putting all the pieces together that that that was really um a significant opportunity in their life. Um looking at data for preschool, our preschool teachers are completing the um um expected early learning assessment. So that's an assessment that we have to do by the state for set up to quality. So they have to use a rubric and go through every single kiddo and assess them. There's 32 questions and um score those kiddos where they're at

academically and motor skills and social emotionally um for that piece. So we're going [clears throat] to wrap that up soon in May. And then for stay tuned um the end of year celebration is in the works. It's in planning. So, I know it's a big deal to preschool and so we're putting that together for them and preschool will be taking a walking field trip to the library. >> Nice. Um, so over at ACP, uh, the students have been working hard on their ACES way. Um, we will be doing our showcase of prizes again this year at the end of the year. Um this year we've given out over 3,000 of our orange tickets um to students that are just taking care of business and um meeting the expectations of of what we set for them.

Um we're looking forward to some exciting things next year. Our PBIS team has been um talking and throwing out different things um including um some real life superheroes that can come and visit the kids and talk about what the ACES way looks like. Um and also um transition our second graders to aces bucks um and just a whole system we can do where um they earn aces bucks and then they're able to kind of purchase prizes um throughout the school year. So the team is super excited about that. Um as far as data, it's hard to believe but in a couple weeks we will be doing end of the year assessments and that just doesn't even seem possible. Um so we are super excited just to see the fruits of our labor. Uh attendance for

the month of March, kindergarten was 93%, first grade 96% and second grade 95%. Overall ability, we're still hovering right around that 95 um 96%. Um so they're doing great. Uh stay tuned. Um you'll be seeing some different things from our uh month of the military child um in the next couple weeks. Um this morning we were able to meet at the flag pole and do the pledge of allegiance and um present our active duty and our veteran um kiddos with certificates and do the pledge of allegiance. Um we currently have 38 kiddos at the primary that are either have active duty parents or veterans. So there were quite a few kiddos up there today. Um today is the purple of power day. Um and purple is the uh the color for the military child. and

just a few different pictures um I have linked here if anybody's interested in checking those out of our kiddos that received their certificates today. And um there's always just something pretty awesome about 450 kids um around a flag pole and out in front of our building. Um we did the pledge of allegiance and um there was a happened to be a trash truck driving by at that exact time and you could tell the two guys were like like what what do you do? like the one had stopped for a second and he looked and he was like, "Do you going do we stop?" Like, but that's just what 450 little voices saying agents will will do to somebody. Like, it really helps your stop. So, I linked it in here. If anybody wants to click

on it and listen to it, you're more than welcome. But, um, you got it there. I just love it. All right, here we go. Thank you. [clears throat] So the second graders only sp >> I always laugh because when we do it all together the second graders finish on Q and then the first graders and then the kindergarters and the preschoolers. So it's kind of it's kind of nice. Um yeah. So, um, but we've been super excited to celebrate them. And then we always just discuss how green is not free. Um, and you know, we have some students that parents are currently deployed. So, just remembering that. So, thank you. Now, on to the elementary. Thanks. Um, so you heard earlier at the elementary you just finished up for World Maths Day and she did

mention about the classes, but I did want to um let you guys know about our specific top students for each grade. So third grade we had Aiden Heset and he was 95th in the country and 429th in the world. So out of all of the schools that did or that competed in World Maths Day, that's how he ended up. Uh fourth grade, Hudson West open. Hudson was 38th in the country and 122nd in the world. And then [cough] grade, which is the most impressive, Jason Dor, he was 11th in the country and 66th in the world. So yeah, that's that's pretty awesome. Uh so I just wanted to highlight that. Um our data at the elementary, our March attendance, third grade was 95%, fourth grade 96% and fifth grade 95%. So they've done a really

good job of our our target has been 95%. Um, I know we kind of set it high, but we wanted to make sure that, you know, we're setting [clears throat] that that goal at what the expectation is. So, um, they they've done a really really good job. We've been at 94 some, but they've overall they've done a really good job of making sure that they're at school. Uh, we are state testing. We started yesterday. Uh, third grade ELA part one was yesterday. That was when they had to write their multi-page paragraph response. Multi paragraph. Yeah, multi. Um they had part two today which was 30 some multiple choice questions. Um tomorrow, fourth and fifth will take their ELA part one and fourth and fifth on Friday will take their ELA part two. Next week is

math and then for all three grades and then science for fifth grade will be column and then we'll be done >> at the middle school that refresh that I think there's two different slides. I add hers on there, too. I have to skip one. I can't read it anyway. So, [laughter] similar to last month, um just kind of went through um the on the left side under way highlighting students that earn perfect attendance. So, again, our student council sponsored gift cards um to per grade level and we um issued those gift cards this week. So out of our student body, we had 29 sixth graders, um 25 seventh graders, and 23 eighth graders who earned attendance for the month of March. Um and um six students received gift cards. So I um highlighted those students.

As far as our March attendance, um sixth grade just for the month of March was right at 94.6%, seventh grade 93.8, and eighth grade 94.7, which as a building puts us at 94.3%. So again, above our 90% um where where we should be at 90%. Um as far as like below benchmark um percent as a building, we're already at 13.4% of students that are below the 90% um which is about 45 students um in the middle school who are below that 90%. Um and again, some of those kids at TER every week they're right out at 89 90% 91%. So, um it can it can vary week to week. Um as far as um upcoming items, um we have one more month that we're going to recognize perfect attendance winners in. Um again, we've got

districtwide incentive with our seating party. Um Mrs. McFarland and I met today. I middle school counselor and talked a little bit about master schedule planning. So, we're kind of starting to get those items um in place to be able to build our master schedule. We met with um the A teachers last week um to talk about what Mr. Sharp shared with you guys tonight. Get that organized for um our different pathways that we offer to students. Um the end of the year ELA remediation. So it's another thing that we talked about uh for incoming sixth graders. We are going to um assess them. It's a really quick assessment for tier three um just to make sure we don't miss anyone. I can say this year in a couple SLT meetings um some students were not

in tier three that made sure that that had moved in so they weren't assessed. Um so we're going to hit all of our fifth graders here after everybody gets through state testing. Again it's a really quick assessment just to make sure um you know we're not missing anybody that's transferring up to to sixth grade. And then last but not least um a big day that's coming up is our career day just like that Dr. roughly mentioned in the curriculum council update. So, we're really looking forward to that kind of finalizing something that >> we're going to have a high school presentation. Yes, there >> Mr. Dennis shared this um which he goes over the office for grade level there. Here's the freshman dominating that again. I think that he typically the the trend is is

following the same as the middle school with um still the attendance rate still hovering right around that 92% 91.3 for this past month overall for high school seniors are starting to lag a bit falling under the 90% mark about spring testing they will be upcoming and that they are doing a lot of work right now for scheduling for 26 27 getting feedback from students on the classes that they're looking at and on the schedule. >> Thank you. Um the only thing that I have tonight is uh related down any consent agenda number one to accept the minutes from the previous meeting on March 11th. approve the April substitute list for Fairfield County and Poy County and to accept a donation from Mr. Gerard for an athletic donation. Do I have a motion? Dr. Duss. >>

Yes. >> Mr. M. Yes. Treasurer recommendations. Financial status reports given by the treasur. Okay. Um, our general fund revenue is 3,17,000. Um, our real estate taxes came in a little differently this year. Um, so we did have um, I believe one more advance um, in March and then our settlement isn't until April. We've already received it. So, it was kind of spread out quite a bit this time. Um, we received three advances and one settlement. So, four total deposits for our real estate taxes, which makes our monthly summaries look a little awkward um because there's additional revenue in some months and less revenue in other months. Uh we also received excess costs um in the month of March. Those are um the monies we receive. that's kind of traded back and forth district to district

uh based on the students residents um residential district um and it's for a special education. So we calculate it by um figuring out what the costs actually are for the student and then we subtract it's done through the state foundation system. um what we've actually been paid for that student and then the district that is responsible for that student actually pays us the difference and we pay for our students as well. So it's just money swap back and forth. Um they the state gives us all the revenue in one lump sum, but we pay out um throughout the rest of the year. We'll pay out our um the actual cost of what our students work um or ones that are residential to us. Sorry, that wasn't very well explained. Um and then we also received

income tax sharing. Um I if you recall last year from the Google property needed the agreement with the city of Lancaster um and that um there is a tremendous amount as I put my notes of construction going on. Um so that was much higher than what we had anticipated [clears throat] moving forward in the forecast. We probably will go back to what we calculated to begin with um with not knowing how much construction in their construction schedule. There are four buildings total on on three I'm sorry on four parcels um on that property. Um I don't think the second building is occupied yet. Um and the so until it's occupied it really doesn't enter the CRA. Um so there is that. [laughter] Um and then we also had investment earnings. Um our investment earnings actually

were high this month. they were $80,226. Um that is mostly due to um the way that we receive dividends and interest off our investments with Red Tree. Um we'll have some high months and some lower months. So we'll see that vacasillate quite a bit. Um, in a presentation yesterday at the conference I'm at, there was an economist there who really was pretty sure the Fed's not going to move anymore and our interest rates will will follow whatever the Fed does. So, we should be good for 2026. Um, they're not expecting them to drop interest rates anymore. Um, but in case you didn't tell, um, there's going to be a new chairman. Maybe he is a certain senator or something. Um, so that will probably have some effect too. Um, if there is a new chairman

board installed. So, we shall see if that happens. Um I guess the existing chair will stay as long as the the nominee is not confirmed. So um so our revenue even though we did receive more revenue um than actually anticipated um was down about $1.4 $4 million from last March and that was only because of real estate taxes um and how we received this again interest earnings to remember about 80,000 um our very very last cops um investment interest um of $817 was um realized in this month and so all of those accounts now are all closed from the construction projects we don't have anything else um for those um so our expenditures were about $1.7 million almost 1.8 eight and total checks written for the month were 2,41,000. Um again the checks are written

from all funds. So most of the reporting we do is general fund. I like to always point that out because that's one of the reports you receive the dispersement report. So whether it's spent in the general fund or not, you should see every time it's written throughout the month. um our expenses are very close um to March of um 2025. We are down slightly about 185,000 but that's in purchase services which typically is timing with how we receive invoices for special education um depending on where students are placed um which are biggest expenditure in purchase services. So overall, our general fun revenue exceeded our large our expenses by $1.3 million. Salary and benefits continue to be our largest expenditure. Um this month because we didn't have a lot of other expenditures was 81% of our

monthly total. Um typically ours runs closer to 70% when you look at the full year. Um the current general fund balance is 13,387,000. We have incumbences or POS of 1,743,000 separates our available cash balance to 11,643,000. Um we still have um 7,823,000. Um in the 070 capital projects fund um we have [clears throat] POS open for 398,000 which leaves our uncover balance at 7,424,000. Our carryover balance policy um reflects 45% of our projected expenditures for I didn't say that right. Our carryover balance is 45% of our projected expenditures for fiscal year 26. Um so we calculated that by taking the unencumbered general fund balance and then dividing it by the projected general fund expenditures. um from the February forecast. Um again, I was talking about this in January um where we were below the threshold

that that's highlighted in our cash policy. Um and this month we're above um that threshold. We probably, and this is just guessing, we'll probably be above next month too and then we'll start coming down. So, um, our lowest cash point is always January, um, into February and then in March it starts building again because we receive tax advances and then by the end of April, um, we'll receive another deposit for interim tax. Um, so that's why I think April will be high too probably and then we'll start that'll start coming down. I don't think at this point it's something where the board should take action on anything. um with the change fiscal year 26 um with the way our reappraisal fell um we received more tax revenue in 26 and then 27 it's going to

come down um some property tax reform. So we'll see that it's kind of even back out um at this point. Did anybody have any questions on um any of the reports that I provided? I added the um forecast report um that we received monthly at the end. It's just a really quick easy read for this is what's going on. Um forecast also talks a lot about change. Um so sometimes the the the graph you see is really about the change of what happened versus the actual number. So I just want to say thanks for answering my questions earlier and uh also thanks for uh including the the new version that shows more the annual or year-to- date expenses and yearto date revenues. It's kind of a a better apples comparison rather than the swing of

one person next to timing issues or something like that. Thanks for including that. >> Do I have any motion to approve the financial discussion? [laughter] Roll call, please. >> Dr. >> Yes. >> Mr. Hannah. >> Yes. >> Mr. S. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Yes. >> Item C is approve the amended appropriations for fiscal year 26. Do I have a motion? any discussion? So, I did provide um a report so you get to see the ones that change. Um typically after we do the permanent and this is the first amendment we've had to appropriations this year um after we do the permanent appropriations in the fall usually in September. there's usually not a lot of changes. It's usually just the grant funds because we don't always know the money we're going to get in. We don't

always know the money we're going to spend. Um and that goes also with sometimes I mean we pretty much know food service, sometimes athletics will be that way um depending on if we have to replace something that we didn't know we were going to have to replace. And then um so as you can see we have the 019 fund is local grants. So that's Hustler and um Pine Grove and then also and I take that back. It's not hustler host but it's Pinro and then we usually get South Central. Um we don't always know we're going to get those. So sometimes that can be off and as you can see we had to add some appropriation um to that because we did get some grants we anticipating at the beginning of the year. Um the

workers comp and tournament fund that's one also that we had to increase the appropriation for and that was because we hosted more tournament games and what we thought we um the OHSA would be having [clears throat] here requires us to segregate those funds um because it flows out to them. So we collect ticket money and then it goes straight out to them so it doesn't go into um our athletic fund. Um the workers confidence I know that is something that's pretty predictable also usually come back about correct um capital projects fund those are projects that you approve um I do not appropriate those until you approve those um so those um the $2.2 $2 million is higher than normal and that was from the construction project because we did not approve. We did not [snorts]

when we went into the project the money that was in the O4 fund which was the money we financed we did not finance the entire project. There were some expenses that we knew we were going to have um above that. Now with that said it wasn't $2.2 million. So it wasn't like that was We've a lot of items. I run a report monthly um on the 070 fund. If that's something you guys would like to see every month, um we could do that which um for example kitchen equipment a lot of times we'll buy we'll use that fund. Um we bought some floor scrubbers that were um they were quite pricey like 13 $15,000. um those types of things. Um and they add up quickly. We've been replacing um quite a bit. Um buses, we

also the car buses probably as well. Um student activities and I won't go through these the student activities funds. There's definitely we have no idea what those are going to be because we do ask for budgets and things but they don't always know what fundraisers are going to do it and um FFA does such a great job year. So we did have to increase appropriations um some for that there and then um two of our grants. How often do you do an overview of this appropriations? Is it like twice a year? You said you did early. >> Um, no. I look at the appropriations daily, every other day. Like I if something went negative, I'll look at it. >> But the overall >> I do it as often as we need to. We are statuto

try to do a temporary budget to the year budget in September. So July probably in June budget have got the permanent budget in September and then we have to do a final budget not be in June. That's all we have to do. A lot of districts only do that because that's what's required. I would like to do in between keep a little more so it's not as much work at the end. But either way is acceptable to the auditor. I just like to give them a little bit more. I'm not working so hard to figure out what happens. That makes sense. What's required versus what is done. So the process is um if you guys approve these this evening, I already have them loaded into the um county auditor site. I will upload the resolution.

[cough] The budget commission will see these at the end of the month. They'll send me back. They'll send me a certificate. They'll bring the certificate in and it just sits there. So, that's it. >> Thank you. Mr. Sharp. >> Yes. >> Mr. Har. >> Yes. >> Dr. Buckley. >> Yes. >> Mr. John. >> Yes. Consent agenda number two, [clears throat] personnel. Carolyn was hired as a cook in 2020 and prior to that served as a substitute for five years. She's given many click schools 11 years of service and we have a couple resignations. Do I have a motion? >> Mr. Second Discussion. >> Um so we're excited that we've made made it this far in the process. Um this is what I presented at the last meeting. Um kind of the beginning steps and the the framework of where we're going with strategic planning. Uh we've currently been in conversation with Allerton Hill. Um they are working with us to compile our final product um that I use as an example throughout this process

a lot of times um with various schools um at no cost to the district. I want to point out um they are working at providing that assistance for free. Um the next piece that we are working on is right now we're finalizing our three-year plan or step plan that goes to the state and we're kind of marrying these two together. So that's where once we have the final product it'll have more details about what specific we are looking at doing each year um particularly the first three years of that fiveyear strategic plan. So again, this is a a living document as we as we move forward and um going back to those key pieces that you're hearing tonight, vision, mission, core values, um and those ACE actions, support ACE actions. So um it was it

was interesting whenever we had some teachers they were went back and they were talking with within their uh teams and you know they were able to talk about for first they said peanut butter eggs and then they said uh purpose belonging and excellence. So um a lot of planning for next year to uh deploy our strategic plan and really make it part of what we're doing every day. Um again trying to pull our different pieces together uh into alignment. So sign the next step. >> Thank you. >> Mr. Sh. >> Yes. >> Mr. Hon. >> Yes. >> Dr. Bley. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Y. >> Yes. Item B is approve the contract with Northern Buckeye Educational Council Internal Connections Components from July of 26 through June of 27. Do I have a motion? Dr. Mr.

Discussion, please. Uh, one of the things the questions that was asking leading up to this, um, these next three, um, contracts are related to our rate funds. Um, every five years, correct me if I get the piece of wrong, but um, every five years the federal government essentially um, sets an amount of of funds that you can use for certain items related to technology connectivity. Um, there are two different categories. One's a category one, one's a category two. Um and certain components are in each one of those two buckets. Um these are related to category 2 funds. Um this goes along with our technology plan of of um updating you remember last year we worked on updating switches. Um and then um also over the summer we ran new wires uh connectivity wires connecting to

wireless access points and and throughout all of our our buildings in the district. So upgrading those from um a bigger an older version to a newer version um a lot of what you're finding is now technology you have to have more power um that flows over your Ethernet ports your your cat 6 cat six cables um so anyways this particular contract is associated with upgrading the access points throughout the district um so you know increase in uh coverage and increase in you know that that power that's associated with pushing that out. So this one and the next two we usually get we usually pay about 30% of what the total amount is um on we have a rough estimate of 30%. Um and then the other 70% comes from the rate funds. So we have

a specific bucket that we have of funds. We come up with a plan of how to spend those that bucket of money over the five years to go towards reducing the cost towards those pieces. >> Date stands for education rate. >> Mr. Sharp. >> Yes. >> Mr. Haron. >> Yes. >> Oh, sorry. Let me start it. Dr. Buckley. >> Yes. >> Mr. Haron. >> Yes. >> Mr. Sorry. >> Yes, >> Mrs. Young. >> Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions about that that you rate. Yeah, it's great that utilize as much of that as possible. >> Item C is to approve the contract with Logically Certant, Inc., which is internal connections components. Uh, this contract runs from June of 26 through June of 27. Oh, no. July of 26. So, next school

year. >> Do I have discussion? >> This is associated with firewall. >> Firewall. Thank you. Um, roll call, please. Mr. Sharp. Yes, >> Mr. Haron. >> Yes, >> Dr. Bley. >> Yes, >> Mrs. Young. >> Yes. >> Item B, approved 5-year contract with Logically Certent, Inc., a managed internal broadband services from July of 26 through June of 2031. Do I have a motion? >> Discussion. [clears throat] This is the management of um that goes along with the firewall. >> Lots of components go in cyber security. >> Roll call please. >> Mr. Har. >> Yes. >> Dr. Be. >> Yes. >> Mr. Shar. >> Yes. >> Mrs. >> Yes. >> Uh item E is approve elementary tutors as listed. Do I have a motion? >> Second >> and Dr. Bley second discussion. >> Um this is

Roll call >> Mr. Yes, >> Mr. Sharp. >> Yes, >> Dr. Buffley. >> Yes, >> Mrs. Young. >> Yes. >> Item G is to approve a differential for the custodian maintenance um as listed um the two different buildings based on in fact one building's paper. Do I have a motion? Dr. Call >> Dr. Bley. >> Yes. >> Mr. H. >> Yes. >> Mr. Sharp. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Jones. >> Yes. >> Item H is

to approve staff leave without pay as listed. Do I have a motion? >> Second. >> Mr. Sharp. >> Yes. >> Mr. Harris. >> Yes. >> Dr. Buckley. >> Yes. >> Mrs. John. Yes.
