on a Tuesday night to bring you this greater Cleveland Conference matchup between the visiting Cleveland Heights Tigers and your Brunswick Blue Devils. I'm Paul Zan along with former Blue Devils sharpshooter Ethan Jean and we'll bring you all the action in this boys conference matchup. The Blue Devils enter the game 14 and3 overall, 9 and0 in the GCC. The calendars now flip to February, which means it's the second time through conference opponents. It's always tougher to beat teams the second time. The Blue Devils found this out Friday [music] night. First game against Strongsville was a running clock in the second half. Blue Devils had a much tougher fight on Friday. >> 100%. I mean, Strongsville second time around, especially playing at a place like Strongsville. Very rowdy environment. Very, very a lot of fans. A lot

of fans that are shooting and hollering, talking at you. A lot of fans that are very loud environments. It's very tough to hear your coach, hear anyone that is trying to talk to you and especially late in that game when you need a lot of coaching with a lot of different pressures that Strongsville was throwing at them. Very tough for the Blue Devils to be able to hear and comprehend a lot of that. So tonight, Cleveland Heights will bring in a 9 and6 overall record. They're 4-4 in the GCC. Uh Blue Devils had a tough time at Cleveland Heights, uh winning 4947 back on January 6th. They didn't have Trey Drexler in that game, but still a very talented uh Cleveland Heights team coming in tonight. >> No matter what, Cleveland Heights is a very

physical, a lot of football guys, very physical team that's not afraid to throw you around for a little bit. But the addition of Trey Drexler for the Devils, able to get him back, get him back in his groove right here, especially second time around. Going to bring a lot of different problems for the Blue Devils. >> As I said, we're we're in February now, so there's two things happening. Blue Devils trying to lock up another greater Cleveland Conference championship and try to make a long postseason run. >> 100%. G obviously first you want to win the conference. That's a big thing that coach Mackey always preached to us as a team. You got to be able to win the GCC and then once you win that you keep building from there and a big win

here tonight on their home floor be a great way to get on track to win that GCC title. The other thing Blue Devils will hope to do in the next couple of weeks heading into the tournament is get healthy. They'll be playing without Drew Mattis tonight. Um, we also seem to think maybe something happened in the JV game. >> We'll discuss this as the game goes on, but right now we're going to turn it over to the public address announcer for tonight's introductions. >> Extending each of youelcome. We are pleased you are here tonight. Bruins High School and Cleveland Heights High School are members of the Ohio High School Athletic Association and abide by the standards of conduct competition and relations with member schools. In order to make tonight's contest as enjoyable as possible, please

represent your school and community in a positive and respectful manner. That means follow the rules, speak and act responsibly, and show courtesy and respect for your fellow fans, the officials, coaches, the administrators, authority figures, and of course, your team and opponents. Let's make tonight's game great by remembering to respect the game. Thank you. And now, ladies and gentlemen, we ask that you please stand, remove your hats, and direct your attention to the north end of the gymnasium for the playing of our national anthem tonight. Sung by Kayn Holder and Grace Wild. So proud we [singing] were the sing. Oh, save us at our home. >> [applause] >> The officials assigned to this game have been selected and assigned according to the procedures adopted by the Ohio High School Athletic Association and the Greater Cleveland Conference.

The officials for tonight's game are Frank Male, Brady, and Ruben Dilla. >> And now, let's meet the team. >> First, the starting lineup for the visiting Cleveland Heights Tigers, led by head coach Jr. >> Brown forward 65, senior number zero, Noah Blue. and forward a 63 senior number 12 Deion Solomore number two at guard of 65 senior number one Deville Stevens and a guard of six senior number three boy And now the starting lineup queen. And forward a 64 junior number 11. And forward a 65 senior number zero. [screaming] [cheering] and forward a six foot senior number two and guard a 510 number 11 Hamilton [music] and guard of St. Senior number three led by head coach Joe and [music] Garland blue in basketball. It's time to make [music] some noise. [screaming] >> All right.

The introductions are done and we're ready for basketball here on the campus of Brunswick High School as these two GCC teams match up here in February. Joe Mackey's got his team ready to go a little short-handed like I said. >> Yes, >> Drew Mattis missing and uh we noticed that that Prince Abby also missing on the bench tonight. >> 100%. Those are Drew Mattis was a starter for him. Obviously Blake Hamilton stepped up big time at Strongsville. Nailing a bunch of threes for him there at Strongsville. But Prince is very good defensively off this Brunic bench and not having him tonight. He's going to be going to be a big test for the Devils to step up defensively. >> So what that always means is that next man up mentality. We'll see who that next

man is tonight. We're ready for the tip off. Blue, >> pardon me, Stevens and Barnett on the jump controlled by the Tigers and we're underway. Drexler on the defense. Tigers swim it. Swing it around the perimeter. Get it back in the hands of Stevens. >> Drives. Can't get it to go. Barnett up high for the rebound. >> Drexler pushes up. >> Very good rebound by Barnett there. Going to need that a lot tonight out of him. >> Yeah, we'll see what strategy the Blue Devils go off to start. Sometimes they like to put Barnett down in the post. Tonight he's hanging out on the perimeter. Three in the air and it's in by Aiden Ever and the Blue Devils score first. >> Just a very good pass there by Blake Hamilton. A very tough pass

to make, especially as a freshman and coming in doing that is very spectacular. A good sign to see for the Devils. >> Ball up and in by Noah Blue. Noah Blue is the leading scorer for this Tigers team. He's averaging 12.9 points per game. So that's who the Devils will look to shut down tonight. Three in the air again by Ever and he starts off with a hot hand. >> He's been hot. He's was very good at Strongsville shooting the ball and is now keeping that momentum going. >> Ball inside. Shot no good. Hamilton with the rebound. Blue Devils will quickly bring it the other way. >> Drexler brings it into the paint. Shoots it out to Hamilton. Hamilton to Barnett. Barnett fouled on his way to the basket by Jamal Stevens. [clears throat] >>

Looks like the Tigers right there look to send a double team at Drexler trying to get the ball out of his hands. Last time he was not here for this game. It's going to be very different, very different for the Tigers to have to deal with Trey Drexler tonight. >> Cleveland Heights goes to the bench quickly. Charles Butler now on the floor. Ball into Drexler. They'll set up the offense. gets it into the hands of Ever. Ever dribbling on Solomon. Does the ball knocked away. Gets it back. Gets it to Barnett. Barnett tries to go baseline. Cut off. >> Gets it out to Drexler. Blue Devils reset. >> Coach Mackey >> calls out the offense. >> Tigers. >> Nice pass by Drexler. Evan has the ball knocked away. Tigers come the other way. Quick three

in the air. Rim no good and Ever up for the rebound. >> So early on, Ever doing a little bit of everything. Has six points, a couple of rebounds. >> 100%. They're going to need that tonight. Big game out of him means big things for this Brunswick team. >> All right, back up top. Ever sets the screen for Drexler. Drexler three in the air and he hits it. >> Such an impressive player right there. Just very good. All Ohio, all all everything. Just very good player right there. >> Quick foul there on Barnett up top. >> His first first on the Blue Devils as a team. If you're not familiar with the rule change a couple years ago, each team gets five fouls in a quarter and then they go straight to two free throws.

So the uh one and one is no more in high school basketball. And there's a turnover there forced by Barnett. >> Very aggressive defense there by Barnett. Going to need him tonight defensively and offensively. Very high for Shawn Barnett. Going to need a big night out of him tonight for a very good Tigers team. >> Tigers with a timeout. 519 remaining first quarter. Blue Devils up 9-2. >> So obviously you played in Joe Mackey's system. You're currently coaching in Joe Mackey's system. >> Quick timeout like this. What's Joe looking to do? >> Looking to try to keep the hot hand going. You got Trey with the three. And you got Aiden Ever with two threes. You know, trying to maybe look to go to Aiden here. Keep him the hot hand. Or if you see

they drew a double there. Drexler right on that ball screen. Send two guys at him. If he's able to just draw two and just make a quick swing swing. Who knows? You could find Hamilton or Barnett with a wideopen look in the corner. >> Yeah, that's the tough thing about these Blue Devils. If if you key on Drexler and Barnett, Ever's going to hurt you. Hamilton's going to hurt you. So, pick your poison >> 100%. >> All right, back in action. Barnett drives in the paint, kicks it out to Hamilton. Hamilton takes the dribble, goes around Butler, >> who hooks him. >> Foul call on the Tigers number. >> His first foul, second on Cleveland Heights as a team. Blue Devils will inbound right in front of us. Stella gets the ball up top to

Drexler. >> Drexler comes off the screen by Ever. >> Dribbling on Stevens, drives inside, puts it up. No good. But he draws the foul. >> Very good little twoman game there between Drexler and Aiden. Just kind of playing off each other. It's really good there. One thing that Troy, me and Trey, always did very well was playing off each other. Playing off each other, setting good screens. >> Drexler hits the first. >> He's an excellent free throw shooter. He's one you want at the at the line at the end of a game. He hits those two. Five points now early on for Drexler. >> Not want him to get a hot hand. That would be a very tough guy to guard. Blue thinks about the three instead. Passes over to Boyd. Boyd drives on Ever.

Puts it off the glass. Puts it in. 11 to four. Blue Devils on top here in the first quarter. >> Very good take there by Boyd. Able just to get around Ever going to need some help side on that backside for the Devils. >> Three in the air by Ever. That one's a little strong. Rebound taken down by Stevens. He is their leading rebounder. Seven rebounds a game. Ball inside. >> Jamal Stevens gets it to go. Great strength there by the senior. >> It's a very good finish. It's one of those ones where no, you're going to get fouled. It's just how are you going to find a way to finish it? And he found a way. That's a very good finish there by Stevens. >> All right, Stevens will try to complete the three-point

play. rim, glass, and in. Blue Devils lead cut to four at 11 to seven. A little pressure on Drexler here by Stevens. >> Gets it over to Ever. Hands it off to Barnett. Barnett thinks three. Passes to Ever. Everett kicks it out and they'll reset the offense. Barnett takes a deep three and hits it. It's really tough to guard him. You think you got him on the first close out and a one dribble side step for Barnett. Just really tough to guard. >> Blue Devils playing some good defense on the other end, but Solomon fights it up and in. >> It's a very good finish there by Solomon. A very strong finish there. >> Initially had it tipped away. Got the ball back. Made the Blue Devils pay. Drexler puts it up front of the

iron. No good. Rebound by Stella Barnett on blue. [cheering] Zero on zero here. Barnett luckily kept that pivot foot still and we've got a blocking foul on Dion Solomon. >> Notice right there, Barnett drawing a lot of the defense. Wouldn't mind to see Hamilton shoot one or two of those right there. try to get a quick one off at some of these taller guys closing out at him with Trey and Shawn drawing so much of that defense to get tight in that paint. Force him to kick it out. >> Second foul on Solomon. So he heads to the bench. Messiah Williams takes his place. >> Barnett on the block. Pumps goes up with it. Has it knocked away by Blue. >> Nice little great defense there by Blue. doing a nice little dig there by

it looked to be Stevens I think on that dig there on the double in the post. >> Drexler inbounds to Hamilton. Hamilton thinks three, dribbles in, puts up a floater, no good. Tries to get the rebound, knocks it out of bounds. Tiger ball. >> Don't mind the aggressiveness there by Hamilton. You know, especially with when you need that second guy with Drew Mattis kind of being that third or fourth option for the Devils, you need Hamilton to step up, get a couple points there. Not a bad shot there. The freshman missed a little bit of time earlier in the season with an injury. He's been great since coming back. >> Williams goes up strong, draws the foul. That's a second foul on Barnett. That's exactly what the short-handed Blue Devils don't need tonight is one

of their top players getting in foul trouble. >> Thousand%. You cannot have Barnett get in foul trouble, especially with how much he brings on the offensive end and rebounding the basketball. going to need him to be very smart here in these next two minutes and 30 seconds. >> All right, Drexler dribbles across the timeline into the fourourt, gets it to Barnett. Barnett doubled, hands it off to Stella. Stella to Hamilton. Hamilton in the corner. Ever puts up the three. Rim no good. Rebound grabbed by Stevens. He'll go pace the other way. Puts it up. Puts it in. [cheering] Boy, I hope this isn't on Barnett. I >> think it's going to be on Drexler, I think. >> Yeah, they gave it to gave it to Drexler. >> Sigh of relief there cuz Barnett was the

other defender on the play. >> Blue Devils have been getting threes from beyond the arc. This will be the third three for the Tigers from the strike. >> And very good coaching here by J.R. Bremer putting number one Jamal Stevens on Trey Drexler. A lot of length, a lot of size on Drexler. Going to be very tough to get shots off if you're Trey Drexler. >> Nice ball fake by Drexler. >> Drexler going to make me meet my words there. Very good move there by Drexler. >> Yeah, your former teammate said, "What did you just say?" >> Good defense on the other end. Evan comes up with the ball. Stella drives, kicks it out. Drexler has it. >> [cheering] >> dribbling on Williams. Scoops, scores. You >> see that little stop there by Drexler once

he got into that paint to really get him on his back. Make it a very easy finish there for Drexler. >> So just like that, Blue Devils retake the lead. 1815, 125 left. First quarter. >> Stevens gets it up top to Blue. Noah Blue dribbles on Stella. Loses the handle. Ball goes out of bounds. They say the ball went off of Ever. >> Looked like it did. It looked like when he lost it, Aiden tried to grab it and just flew right through his hands. >> Unlucky one there for the Devils. >> All right, Tigers will inbound from the corner. Messiah Williams with the trigger up top to Boyd. Boyd on Ever. Drives, kicks it out. Blue puts it up. Little strong. Barnett with the rebound. It's one thing Shawn needs to do all game.

Aiden Aiden will grab a bunch. But if Shawn keeps flying in there, it's going to make it very much easier for Shawn. I mean, for Aiden to go in there and fly in and grab a couple. >> All right, 50 seconds remaining. Devils up by three. Drexler with the ball. Fakes high off the glass. No good. Gets his own rebound. Kicks it out. Hamilton. No good. Scramble for the ball. Stevens comes up with it, turns it over. >> Barnett tries to make him pay, misses it. Hamilton there for the put back. >> Looked like on that last possession looked at they might have been faceguarding Shawn Barnett, looking to take him away, not let him get started, but a great rebound and follow up there by the freshman. Very good out of him. >> Great

position that time by Blake. >> Looks like the Tigers will go for the last shot. Boyd takes it. No good. Barnett strong for the rebound. He's got time to get off a shot at the other end. Puts it up. No good. After one quarter, your Blue Devils lead 20 to 15 over Cleveland Heights. >> Pretty good first Pretty good first quarter there by the Devils. Got some great looks there. A couple offensive rebounds that have been huge for them. If you notice one thing, Luke Stella always in there looking to get an offensive rebound, get a tip out, get a little something, little something extra, try to get an extra possession there for the Devils. It's little things, but those little things in this type of game is going to go very far away. >>

Yeah, Luke Stella does a lot of the dirty work. A lot of stuff that doesn't uh appear in the box score, but he's a very vital part of the starting five for Blues. All right. So, over in the huddle after what you've seen, what does coach Mackey send them out doing here in the second quarter? >> It looks like they're doing a lot of switching on the defensive end. A lot of guys there looked like right there on that last possession. Might have had a little bit of a miscommunication. Looking to just clean that up real quick. But outside of that, think just kept telling them keep playing hard, keep playing physical. It's going to be a very physical game versus Cleveland Heights team. They play a very hard style of basketball. It's going to

be a very good game here tonight. >> Blue Devils starting five. Played all eight minutes there in the first and all five of them back on the floor to start the second quarter. They begin with the ball and a five-point lead. Drexler brings it up against Williams. Gets the ball to Ever. Everett, nice pass to Barnett. Initial shot doesn't go. He's fouled. >> Number two. >> Looked to be a nice little back door there. Play drawn up there by the Devils. Very good action there by co a very well-known coach and Joe Mackey was one of my favorite coaches I've ever had. >> Chance Nixon on the floor now for the Tigers. He commits the foul. Barnett hits the first of two. You know, everyone always talks about Shawn shooting threes and being able to

light it up from the three-point line, but one things he's really improved on this year is getting downhill, getting to the rim, finishing through contact. He hits the pair. Blue Devils up by seven. Just underway here in the second quarter. Ball in the corner to Nixon. Nixon dribbling against Drexler. Drexler cuts him off. Sends it out top. Butler in trouble now. Gets the ball back to Nixon. >> Nice defensive possession here by the Devils. Got to finish this one out. >> Up top. Three in the air. In and out. Blue has not found a shooting touch so far, which is good news for Brunswick. >> Able to finish out that possession. And Luke Stella, just as we were saying, doing the little dirty work, doing the rebounding. Looks like it might be a face guard

here on Drexler by number five. >> Stella gets the ball to Everett. Ever drives in the paint, kicks it out to Hamilton. Hamilton back to Stella trying to find that shot. Barnett on the handoff, puts up the three back of the iron. No good. Ball knocked around. Hamilton with great hustle gets it out to Drexler. His three is pure. >> It's unlucky there for the Tigers. Playing really good defense force. Kind of a tough shot there for Barnett. Just you got to find number three. He will light you up tonight. >> The freshman making impact plays here in the first half. Nixon takes the three. He can't get it to go. Ball in the hands of Drexler. >> Another good rebound tipping around by Aiden, by Ever and Barnett. is so good for them two

to stay aggressive on the glass. [applause] >> Drexler called for the offensive foul. Moving screens, >> his second foul. >> So he and Barnett each with two fouls. >> Coach Mackey did not like that call. >> Tough little 50/50 call there. Just two guys colliding. I think right there he just let him play. It was two guys that just collided. Don't mind. Don't mind the call. But I think right there he just let that one slide. >> Chase Boyd on the dribble. Gets it to Blue. Blue against Stella. Gets it inside to Stevens. Stevens puts it up. This time they don't get it to fall. >> Ever [snorts] called for his second foul. >> So you have three big scorers each with two fouls here. there the second quarter. >> Got to be very smart

here. Trey, Shawn, and Aiden. It's about 80 90% of your points right there with two fouls here with five minutes. Almost 6 minutes to go here left in this second quarter. It's going to They better be smart here. Cannot pick up a third one here in this first half. >> All right, Stevens hits the first, eyes the second. Puts it up. >> We've got a lane violation. >> Oh, wait. No, foul called. Aiden Ever called for his third foul. >> I thought for sure they were calling a lane violation there, but he called him for a push. >> I'm not mistaken. It looked like they It was Blake Hamilton who might have got the foul, but I think they're going to give it to Aiden. It looked I thought it was Blake. It looked like

they said 11 to the table, but looks like it's going to be on Aiden. So that's three fouls on Aiden and Ever. >> That's not the position you want to be in. The the good news is you're up by nine. The bad news is your fouls are on the wrong people so far. 100%. Especially if Aiden comes out, you're going to need guys like Drexler might need to sneak in there and grab one. Sean, if if Aiden's going to come out here with three, if he picks up a fourth here, they're definitely going to have to go away from Aiden Ever. But if he does come out, there's going to be not a lot of guys that need to step up and rebound this basketball. He is the best rebounder on this team. Blue Devils

up 256 here in a greater Cleveland Conference matchup. Coach Mackey is still talking to the referees about the last couple of calls. He's he's going back to the the Drexler call down here at the other end. Yeah, especially I mean this is one thing about coach Mackey's. He will care for his guys like no other coach in this world. He will treat these guys like he's his own family. He will fight for these guys. There's no part of this that is surprising to me. He is going to try his best to to get his way. And I and I 100% agree. Very tough 50-50 call there. And especially with Trey picking up his second very tough call there that you got to talk about it with him. >> Coaches got to roll the dice. Ever

still out there >> with three fouls. Inbound pass to Blue. Blue against Hamilton. >> They swing it in the corner. Nothing there. >> Looks like a little zone work here by the Devils. >> Three ball is short by Butler. >> Ever with the ball. He's being double teamed. Oh, miscommunication there as Hamilton and Drexler run into each other trying to get the ball. Turnover gives it to the Tigers. Just an unlucky one right there. Aiden, great job to ev evade the trap right there. And just an unlucky one right there for the Devils. All right, Brunswick stays in the zone. Tigers looking to break it. Blue puts up the three. >> That one was right on target. Blue now with five points. >> Blue a very good shooter as I played him last year. A

very good shooter. Shawn Barnett's got to close with a lot of urgency right there, especially on a great shooter like Blue. >> Yeah, you got to hustle up top in that zone to make sure they don't get those open looks. >> Stella has it low. Tries to kick it out to Drexler. Knocked away by Boyd. Lucky that wasn't a turnover there as Boyd couldn't keep the handle. >> Wouldn't mind Stellar right there trying to trying to score that one. Draw some contact. Pick up a foul there on Butler. A very good player in Butler. And don't wouldn't mind trying to pick up a foul for him right there. Get him his second of the quarter. Second of the half. >> Drexler drives into the paint. He's cut off. Kicks it out to Hamilton. Hamilton on

the dribble. Gets it to Ever. Ever drives paint. Cut off. Drexler will put up the three. Got it. >> Drexler for one. >> He is just a very good player right there. It's very good contest there by Stevens. Just such a good shot there by Drexler. >> Drexler with 15 first half points. Devils up nine again. Long three. No good by Charles Butler. Barnett brings it the other way. >> Another good rebound there, Barnett. as I keep saying it. He keeps doing that all night. Devils have a very good chance. [cheering] >> Barnett wows the crowd with a dribble move. Defender falls down. Couldn't make him pay. Assessiah Williams can't get the three to go. Offensive rebound put back up by Boyd. That won't go. Another offensive rebound. Second chances right now for the Tigers.

Now they'll set up the offense. >> Scary there forever. Got to be careful down there. I know he likes to battle and grab some rebounds, but with your with three fouls, very tough right there. >> Messiah Williams goes up strong, can't get it to go. Hamilton with the rebound. Kicks it to Barnett. He's fouled by Boyd. >> Mackey frustrated with not a lot of calls there, but as we said earlier in this game, Cleveland Heights a very physical team. It's going to be like this all game. Obviously, sometimes you want to get the call there, but a very physical game is going to be this Tigers team. >> Deion Solomon back on. He picked up two fouls in the first quarter. >> He replaces Williams. Played well off the bench. Ever up top, hands to

Stella. Stella dribbles around. Cut off baseline. Nice kick out to Hamilton. Back to Stella. And now the ball up top to Drexler who lets a long three go and he has 18 points in the first half. Blue tries to answer at the other end in and out. Barnett goes up strong for the rebound. >> Nice hustle play there by Hamilton. Was almost under the basket and was able to close out to the opposite corner. Very incredible. >> All right, Blue Devils with their biggest lead of the night. Drexler has the ball knocked away. >> Bodies all over the place. Unfortunately, it looks like Ever's hurt. Ball out of bounds. Belongs to Brunswick. But Ever really got his ankle rolled up on. Watch it on the replay here. Scramble for the ball. You can see him

go back. That is >> and immediately grab for that ankle. Lucky >> is up right now and walking. That is huge. But I mean that's just one that is just it's unlucky. You're fighting for the ball and just just getting rolled up on. Wouldn't mind seeing a foul call and something right there. I mean >> Stella got decked on our side. It's just going to be a physical game. We got to respond to it. It's going to be tough. Got to find a way to answer to this. Going to be a very physical game. Devils are going to have to match this here in this coming rest of this first half and all this second half. >> All right. So, Coach Mackey has no choice now but to go to the bench brings in one

of his seniors. All right, Barnett on the dribble. >> Gets it over to Hamilton. >> Hamilton guarded tough. Loses his footing. 30 seconds out. >> Coach Mackey unhappy with that sequence. He's got to burn a timeout that he didn't want to use or lose possession. So Brunswick with their biggest lead of the evening, 3119 here in the second quarter. Physical game. Drexler with 18 is going to need some help. >> 100%. And you saw right there on that last play, Stevens just kind of denying him. He's Drexler's one of their main ball handlers. Gets him in a lot of their offense and especially if you can take that away and force someone else. If you're the Tigers, force someone else to get them into their offense and take away Drexler. It's a pretty good game

plan in there by coach J.R. Bremer. >> Yeah, Barnett's got five. Ever came out, hit a couple of threes, but right now we'll have to see what his status is with that ankle. It's like a double here on Drexler. >> Hamilton fakes, drives, [cheering] kicks it out. He's got to have a little need to have a little more confidence shooting the ball tonight cuz they're going to need him, thousand%. Hamilton very good three-point shooter as you saw at Strongsville. if anyone was there, lit it up there in the first quarter. I think having almost three, I think it was three three-pointers in the first quarter to kickstart that Devil's run. I mean, very lengthy team here in Cleveland Heights that can close out and block some shots on a shooters, but Hamilton's got to be

confident. He's got to step into a couple of these, knock down a three or two right here, get them going for the night. >> Dion Solomon picks up his third foul. >> [cheering and applause] >> He's their best shooter percentage-wise at 51%. >> But he's got to spend a lot of time on the bench here in the first half with those three fouls. >> It looks like they're going to just send a double on Drexler with whoever whoever Brandt Ali is guarding. It's going to be very tough. Brandt's got to come to the ball, make some plays. >> Almani puts the three in the air and nails it. >> Big shot there by Brandi. Got to make make them make him guard him. If they don't want to respect him, he's got to show him

that he can shoot the ball at a very high clip. [cheering] >> It's an easy defensive lapse when you see that guy come off the bench for the first time. So you you challenge him to shoot and Almani made him pay at the other end. Tigers knock one down, but they're still down by 13 with a minute left here in the half. Especially with Ever out Stevens and be able to use his size, get downhill and a very good finish right there. Just right right through Hamilton. It's just very tough there for Hamilton just sizewise. Barnett up top against Blue. They double Barnett. He gets it over to Stella. Stella back to Barnett. Barnett drives, kicks. Almati drives inside, tries to get it to Hamilton. Ball stolen by Williams. >> Sent that double team again

with Brent Sky. Got to figure out a way to get around that. [applause] >> Messiah Williams pass a little bit high for Nixon. >> Now Sam Watkins coming in off the bench. >> He spells Elotti. >> Sam Watkins JV player, but he can shoot it. He was on scout team. He was always their shooter. He could light it up from anywhere. They cannot double with him. If they send this double, Sam Watkins will make them pay. >> There's the double. Ball in the hands of Watkins. Drives in, gets it to Stella. Blue Devils playing for the last shot. Stella on the dribble beingounded [cheering] by Nixon. Offensive foul. Wow. Just like that. Almati back in. >> Well, I'm going to be honest. I I didn't really like that call. If there if two if number

two >> number two for Cleveland Heights is going to be physical, Stella's going to Stella's getting physical with him. I think they let that one go. >> All right, Tigers. Last shot put up by Blue and it is counted. So, Blue got it off just before the buzzer. So at the half, >> Blue Devils up 3423 five for the Blue Devils out there. >> Let's take a look. Yep. Deion Solomon also starting out there for Cleveland Heights. So, uh, we'll see if either team decides to go after these guys that are in foul trouble at the beginning of the third quarter. >> Yeah, looks be ever left ankle going to be taped up here with three fouls. See how he plays. See how aggressive he's going to be here to start this half. Looks like

>> Cleveland Heights will start with the ball. >> Boyd kind of out of control in the lane there. Lost his footing. >> Foul goal on the Tigers. Number three. >> Boyd is called for the foul. >> His second. Boyd with two points on the evening. >> Great job there by Stella just to wall up. Kind of gave him some room. Looked to try to draw some body into Stella and walled up and kind of just flew right by him. Very good defense there by Stella. >> Barnett gets in in the paint, puts it up, no good. But he's fouled on the play. >> Foul Tigers number 12. >> Solomon picks up his fourth foul. 29 seconds into the third quarter. >> It's big there. >> Sometimes you just have those nights where things just don't

go your way. And I think right now that's what Solomon's run into. >> 100%. >> Just it's just one of those nights where just in the wrong spot at the wrong time and just kind of get a foul call there. It's tough one there for Solomon. But I mean he's he's very good. He's been very good for them so far today in the limited run that he's had. So hopefully Bremer will bring him back in here in the fourth and give the Devils a good run here. Yeah, like I said, he leads the team in field goal percentage at 51%, but he hasn't had a chance to even get things going tonight due to the fouls. So, 3623, Blue Devils up by 13. Blue with the ball against Hamilton. Swings it over to Butler. Butler

puts his shoulder into Barnett. Puts it up. Puts it in. >> Very impressive finish. Strong. Shawn Barnett. Not a small kid by any means. It's a great take there by Butler able to use his strength where Shawn very tough right there. >> So Drexler bringing it the other way. >> Butler Charles Butler kind of put him in an arm bar as he tried to dribble along the sideline. His second foul already. Three team fouls on the Tigers and we're just a minute into this half. >> Very tough to keep up with Drexler. It's really tough especially as a quick guard like him. Such a very twitchy player. So tough on Tigers Heights and Everett gets it inside to Barnett who puts it up and in over Butler. >> So Barnett returns the strength favor on

the offensive end against Butler. Late whistle there on the shot. It looks like they're going to get >> Blake Hamilton. >> He picks up his first to the line for the Tigers. Number one, Jamal Stevens. >> Stevens will go to the line shooting two. >> Tough there for Hamilton. They switched him on to number one. It's ever was on him in the first half. No, it's just a big size advantage, but Hamilton battling down there. It's a pretty tough shot. He gets rewarded there with only one point possible now. >> Stevens leaves the first one on the front of the rim. They'll try to split the pair. get his team a little bit closer. That one's too strong. But the offensive rebound by Messiah Williams, he gets the ball back to Stevens. Three, no good.

Then Stevens commits [cheering] the foul. >> Coach Bremer >> not sure why that foul call was necessary. >> I honestly agree there with Cleveland Heights. Obviously, as a Bronx alum now, you want to root for the Devils, but it's I mean, right there, that's just kind of one of those ones. A little contact, just let it go. But ref looks to be calling a lot more fouls this half. >> Hamilton three in the air. Little strong, no good. Stevens out, lets the ball [cheering] at the other end. Blue goes into the paint, >> knocks down Stella. Stella called for the blocking foul. So Noah Blue will go to the line with two shots. >> It's also Stella's second as well. So that's >> three starters right there. Four. Four starters, matter of fact, that have

two two fouls. Luckily, right here in the third quarter, two fouls isn't the worst, but it's when you get to that three to four range where it gets really tough. You got to lay off the brakes a little bit. >> Blue misses it. Ball in the hands of the Blue Devils up by 11. 38-27. Just over 6 minutes remaining here. Third quarter. to be a little zone pressure here by the Tigers. [cheering] >> There's another foul called on the drive on Jace >> Boyd. Tigers number three. >> So now we're in the bonus situation. >> So for the 559 in the third quarter, every foul, unless it's an offensive foul, the Blue Devils will be shooting too. I mean, the refs let a lot of stuff go in that first half. Didn't seem like they

called very much and now all of a sudden we're two minutes a minute. Only a minute. Oh, no. Two minutes into the sec this second half and got seven total fouls within two two minutes. >> A big big story to see through the rest of this game. How the refs are going to call this one. As a player who played through the change, >> how did you like the change to the, you know, automatic two shots in a quarter versus the one in one? >> I don't I honestly liked it personally. I think it just like gives players a lot more time to rest right here. Like obviously this is shooting foul, but or but if Devils get fouled any other time and like kind of gives you a second to catch your breath. I

never I I honestly never really like the one in one. And I think always two shots is just the right thing to do if there's any sort of foul. But I I do really like I really like the change. I think it's a it's different one. A little different, but I enjoyed it. >> Boyd hits the second. Blue Devils up by 12. Like Hamilton picked up his second there. That's five of your starters now with two fouls, which isn't the worst, but just got to be smart for the rest of this ball game. Drexler slid a little when he stopped there. >> Barnett fakes the three, takes it into the paint, puts it up against two guys, has a shot blocked. >> Ever of course there for the loose ball. That's what he does best.

Drexler on the drive. Puts it up. No good contact. No call. Oh, that's a travel. I >> was going to say I was going to say hopefully they saw that one. Little couple too many steps there by Stevens, but you got to love his aggressiveness there. I mean, especially in that type of break. You got Drexler down. You got Barnett who went in there for an offensive rebound. And Ever, who you don't know is kind of 50/50 right now. Tough right there. But got to got to appreciate this aggressiveness there by Stevens. >> Yeah, Stevens looked like he got caught between thinking three and thinking drive and then just walked >> thousand%. >> Drexler three in the air. Has it blocked. Barnett grabs it, tries to get the ball back to Drexler. [applause] The two

officials on the far side had no idea. The official on the near side saw the tip Blue Devil ball in front of their own bench. >> If you want me to be completely honest, I think three of these rests now are panicking. They realize they let this first half get a little too aggressive and now they're just kind of calling a couple things. >> Barnett with a nice move in the paint off the glass. gets it in. Barnett all of a sudden has 13 points. >> It's very big. >> Stevens gets the roll. Jamal Stevens answers at the other end. He's now with double digits with 11. >> Very good player. Very lengthy. Great way to finish around the rim there by Stevens. Devil tried to go a little bit of a two or three

zone there. Tigers broke it very easily. Cannot let that happen all this half for the Devils. Everett gets it into Barnett. Barnett [cheering] >> puts it up. Foul on the floor. >> Noah Blue. >> It's called for the blocking foul. >> There's two shots right there. Just like that. Simple one like that. Don't mind the charge attempt there by Blue. But you got to know with the cost that if this happens, he's got two free throws no matter what. >> Blue's arguing that Barnett was holding his jersey. Not exactly sure. [cheering] >> So, Chance Nixon is back in. >> I think they have six guys on the court right now. Should be a technical foul. >> Yeah, I'm I'm not sure why why they're even subbing on the first of two shots. Anyway, >> I

was going to say this should be a technical foul. >> So, I mean, sometimes it's the ref's thing, but I mean I think this should be a technical foul. I don't unless the ref told him to go, but if not, it should be a technical. >> The the wheels have fallen off here for the referees, unfortunately. >> 100%. Looks like a little lost right now, but got it all under situation. >> All right, now officially Chance Nixon into the ball game. >> Barnett hits the first. He's got 14. One shot coming. Barnett hits the pair. >> All right, Tigers have to do something. Down by 14. >> Little 131 here by the Devils trying to throw him a couple different looks. >> Wow, Jamal Stevens. >> Tough shot. >> Very tough shot there by Stevens.

Looking to try to get a foul too there. I don't think so, but it's a really good shot there by Stevens. All right, Stella brings it up. Hands it off to Hamilton. Hamilton guarded by Stevens. >> Jump ball called. >> Jump. >> Possession arrow belongs to Brunswick. So, Barnett will throw it in right next to coach Mackey. >> I honestly don't agree with that one. I think it was just two guys being physical and think he just let that one go. >> Looks like we got another foul called. this time on Chance >> Nixonig. >> So now you've got three players with three fouls for the Tigers, one with four. >> Yeah, very tough to do that, especially a physical team like Cleveland Heights. I mean, makes them back down a little bit, which could

favor the Devils. But I mean, for Cleveland Heights, you still got to play, you still got to play physical. Well, that's your style of basketball. You got to work with that. >> Drexler at the line. Hits the first. Second up and is also in. Trey Drexler now with 20 points on the night. Blue Devils maintain their 14-point lead. Nixon against Hamilton. Gets the ball up top to Butler. Butler back to Nixon. Three in the air. No good. Rebound by Stella. quickly gets it to Barnett. He'll dribble up against Stevens. He's doubled. Gets the ball to Stevens. Back to Barnett. Stella up top. Swings it around. Now they'll reset up top to Drexler. Double team comes for Drexler. He drives in the paint. Kicks it out to Stella. Stella gets fouled on the drive by Charles

Butler. Now Stella will have his chance to get into the scoring column >> from the line. >> Just like that. Butler's got his third as well. I mean, it's it's a lot of fouls here for this Devils team. And it's just tough for Cleveland Heights to play this physical if they're going to call all these fouls. And then you just got two free throws right there. And and during our practices, we always make sure we practice our free throws and make sure we're a good shooting team from the free throw line. Yeah, we did not uh have all these fouls in the first half. So surprising that it was allowed to be a little more physical in the first half, but it is what it is. You adjust and you play. >> Boyd gets the

friendly bounce. >> Nice little double screen there by Cleveland Heights. Boyd with a very nice pull up right there right in the lane. Very good shot there for Boyd. All right, Drexler against blue. >> Fadeaway jumper. Bottom of the net. Drexler. >> That was pretty incredible shot there by Drexler. Boy, that's a nice pull up on this end. Drexler responds. Two number threes going at it in the mid-range. Love to see it. >> A blue puts a three up. Iron no good. Offensive rebound by Boyd. He can't get the shot to go. Barnett comes down with the rebound. Blue Devils with pace the other direction. Drexler drives, scores. >> Another incredible finish there by Drexler, especially with the size of Stevens coming down the lane. >> Drexler with 24. They have a foul at the

other end. >> It's going to be on Barnett. It's going to be his third. All right, Barnett, >> called for the foul. >> For some reason, he thought they were shooting, so Barnett was all the way at the other end of the floor. Only the fourth team foul on the Blue Devils. Ball into Stevens. Use that length right there. Drives. He's fouled by Stella. >> Foul called the Blue Devils number two. Luke Stella his third Blue. >> Coach Mackey pleading with Stella to get his hands up in the air. >> It's all tough love at the end of the day. Can never hate on it. >> Tough love is definitely the the way to describe Coach Mackey. >> 100%. You You can take it. You can you can act like it's a different story and

act like he's yelling at you cuz he doesn't like you, but he's yelling at you to encourage you, get you fired up, get you going for this game. Stella, although also with three fouls, so something to monitor. Ever Barnett and Stella with three fouls. See if Mackey goes to his bench at some point this time. >> Wow, he misses both free throws, but Nixon comes away with the offensive board. [applause] Blue Devils get the offensive foul >> on Nixon, >> so it doesn't hurt them. >> That'll be his fourth as well. But >> yeah, I've uh you I've been doing announcing here for over 16 years, >> and I've I've seen the the Joe Mackey glare, >> and I know you you never want to be a player on the floor, be the recipient of

that glare, >> 100%. >> Because he he'll stare right through you on your way down the court. Little scary, but at the end of the day, he's all doing it because he believes in you. He's doing it to make you tough, make you a great basketball player. >> Wide open. Hamilton left it a little short. Couldn't get the bounce. Rebound brought down by Messiah Williams. Quickly the other way. Jamal Stevens drives. Can't get it to go. Hamilton with the rebound. >> Great job by Ever there to wall up. Put his two hands in the air. If he would have swatted down there, definitely would have got him for his fourth foul. Big big time big time there by Aiden Ever. >> Three in the air by Stella. Nails it for one two. >> Back at

the other end. Messiah Williams puts up the three and answers. >> That's the Devils. That's just unexcusable. That cannot happen. It's one of those ones. Get Stella to knock in a big one and bust this open to 21 points and then they come back and drill a three on their end. Well, that's what Cleveland Heights needs now is stops and threes. They didn't get the second part there, but they did get the offensive rebound in the third quarter. >> Now they'll try to cut into this Blue Devil lead. 5537. >> Boyd with the jumper. Gets it to go. >> Second time there. Boyd's kind of pulled up right in that free throw line area right around that mid-range area. Looks to be his go-to shot there. And it's been pretty efficient. Two for two on

it so far. Great shots there by Boyd. >> Boyd now with seven. Cleveland Heights calls a timeout to try to discuss how they want to play out the end of this third quarter. They've got to cut into this lead that currently sits at 16 points. >> I think it's tough here for the Devils, too. You got you got your three best rebounders and Stella Barnett and ever with three fouls. So it makes it tough for them to get aggressive. Try not to pick up a foul here, especially late with 41 seconds left in his third. If you could get them with three fouls going into this fourth quarter, you can kind of tell them, "Hey, turn and pack up that aggressiveness. Get in there. If you pick up your fourth, it's okay. You can play

smart for the rest of that fourth quarter." >> One of the big differences in Joe Mackey's team this year is their stamina. I mean, the fact that these five have played almost the entire game and you don't see the tired legs on the jump shots, you don't see them lacking on the defensive end for the most part. You know, there's always going to be a breakdown here or there. Uh, but they just have great stamina. >> 100%. Some of that goes to our strength coach, Mr. Lamozi. He's works us all off season. This has been very known thing. He's worked us super hard. Good shot there though by Ever. You got to shoot that one. Very good look. >> Stevens at the other end. >> It's going to be Barnett's fourth. That is not good

for the Devils. You cannot have that, especially late in this late in this quarter. Cannot have Barnett pick up his fourth right there. >> Two two Blue Devil starters with four fouls. You got Ever Barnett. >> 14 seconds left here. Stevens misses the first. Dom Fenton will make his first appearance >> for the Blue Devils. Number five, >> wants to get Barnett out so he doesn't pick up that fifth foul >> in the waiting seconds of the quarter. >> Strong player like Barnett, sometimes you get worried. You get him on that post and he bumps the kid a little too hard and the kid falls. Ref might call a charge there. You just you don't want that to happen and pick up his fifth in a very not orderly fashion. >> All right, Blue Devils

will want to score a last. Stella shot blocked. Williams throws it down court. Three in the air at the buzzer. No good by Stevens. >> So the Blue Devils will go to the fourth quarter up 15 5540. That's the good news. The bad news is you do have some foul trouble. Uh you've got Ever and Barnett with four and then you've got Stella uh with three. Uh on the board they've only got Ever with three. But I don't know, maybe they sneakily gave a foul to someone else, but you're the Devils. You can't complain about that. >> We'll take it if that's the case. >> A thousand%. But Barnett with four is big. his offensive contribution and his defensive rebounding. It's one thing that a lot of people don't see a lot of Shawn Barnett.

You think of his threes, his scoring, but his defensive rebounding is a huge part of this Devil's success. If he can rebound the ball at a very high clip, they are going to be able to blow this one open. >> All right, we've got 8 minutes left in this Greater Cleveland Conference matchup. Blue Devils looking to go 10 and0 in the conference. I believe after this, I think they've got five conference games left. >> So, there's still a long way to go to win the GCC crown, but this is one of the teams that that could have been a speed bump, thousand%. a lot of these Cleveland Heights games, these that Shaker Heights, those Cleveland Heights, those Yuka, those very physical Cleveland teams that are they make their success off being a very physical and

strong team and they come into your house and it's very tough sometimes. You got to figure it out when the Devils are weathering this storm very well tonight. >> All right, Tigers start the fourth quarter with the ball. >> Blue gets it down low, has a shot blocked by Hamilton. >> Great job by Hamilton. >> Great block there by Hamilton. you know, very little small in the size compartment compared to Blu to take away those two points. >> Elmati starts the quarter. >> Oh, there's a goalending call. Asia Williams got way up there. Unfortunately, just got there a little late. >> That's impressive. It's one of those ones where it's like it's sucks you let up the two, but kind of cool to get those blocks right there. >> Yeah. Yeah, I mean it was

more exciting to see him get that height than watching a a simple layup go in. So [laughter] I think we would have got the two points either way. >> Thousand%. >> Three in the air at the other end. A little strong by Butler. >> Blue Devils not in any hurry. Looks like the Heights going to send some doubles here at everyone. Try to force some turnovers. Speed this one up. Ever with the ball. Kicks it out to Hamilton. Hamilton drives baseline, gets it back to Everert up top to Elmatti and they'll reset. >> All right, here comes the double on Drexler. Able to evade it. >> He gets to the foul line, puts it up, left it a little short. >> Stevens with the rebound. >> Not a bad shot though if you're Trey Drexler.

It's really good look right there. >> Blue goes in and puts it in over Hamilton. 11 points now. Only a four-point half so far for Noah Blue, the Tigers leading scorer. >> Like Barnett going to go to check in big time there for the Devils. Get him back on this floor. >> Have Almani will play the first couple of minutes here of the fourth quarter. >> And the Blue Devils still holding a big lead. So he did his job. th000%. Now the Devils just taking their time here offensively. You got no rush. Up 15 here in the fourth. They make them come play defense. That's okay. You could take a long possession here. You're not worried about that right now. >> Yeah, the Tigers need stops and buckets on their end, but they can't get

a stop. The Blue Devils don't put the ball up. Drexler step over three. Nails it. Trey Drexler now with 27 points. Blue Devils up 6042. Blue at the other end answers. >> It's one of those ones where get you get that three celebrating a little bit and then you just on the other end just can't leave a good shooter like blue with that much space. >> Great save by Hamilton but the Blue Devils still turn the ball over. I don't know if Stella just lost it or might have got fouled there, but >> I don't know. I don't know. He might have got fouled. Might have a little bit of mix of both. Very physical game. >> Sometimes just a sweaty hand to let the ball get away from him. >> Yeah, I mean at

this point of the last quarter we had almost eight fouls at this point. This time we got zero. Referee's calling it a little different here. Letting that physicality go here in the fourth. >> Barnett checks back in for Brunswick. So starters back on the floor. And that's what the lineup has been for most of this game. Blue gets it up. Rim no good. Nice strong rebound by Ever gets the ball to Drexler. >> Nice little two-3 zone there by the Devils. Slow the Tigers down. Make them take those long possessions. Make them pass it around. That's a minute possession for the Tigers is not what you want right here. >> All right, double on Barnett. Gets it inside to Stella. Stella kicks it out to Everett. Back to Drexler. [applause] Drexler will slow it down

up top being guarded by Boyd. Tries to go by him. Boyd cuts him off. Good defense by Boyd. Ever baseline drive. Tries to go for the slam. Has the ball knocked away by Messiah Williams. Blue the other way. Doesn't get it to go, but he's fouled. >> That'll be Stella's fourth, but especially with four minutes left here in the fourth quarter. A lot of lot of fours in that sentence, but You know, four fouls here in the fourth quarter. Not the worst thing in the world. >> No. And and definitely stopped the basket. Cleveland Heights uh has missed several free throws so far this evening, so it's not a bad gamble to take. >> Yeah, especially just make it tough for him. Make him very tough. Make a couple tough shots. Stella didn't do a

bad bad job there of walling up there, but it's right there with Stella that just when he turns his body the other way, refs are going to get him on that every time. Doesn't matter if you're straight up, if you're swatting down. If you turn your body, refs are going to get you every time on that. >> So far, it works out as blue misses the first, hits the second. >> Chance Nixon back on the floor, replacing Charles Butler for the Tigers. They'll go full court. >> Looks like Williams a little there at Ever. Ever keeping his composure. It's what you need there as the Devils. Don't get it. Don't get a stupid technical right here. >> All right, Drexler dribbling up against Boyd. Kicks it over to Stella. Stella dribbles back out, gives it

to Barnett. Barnett tries to go baseline. He's cut off, gets it back to Stella. Stella drives, kicks it out to Hamilton. Hamilton a three, no good. Williams goes up high for the rebound. >> Hamilton not shooting that ball well tonight, but it's still one thing. He's got to find a way. Makes impacts, which he has been so far this game. But especially if Hamilton's not going to shoot the ball well, find a way. Go get an offensive rebound. Find a way. See something go through. Maybe once you get a layup in there, you'll find him be able to get a get a three ball going. See something go through the net. >> The other end. Jamal Stevens drives and scores. He now has a team leading 16. Drexler at the other end puts it in.

He's got 29. With 319 remaining, Joe Mackey calls a timeout. The Blue Devils up 6248. >> That's one thing you can't draw up as a coach right there. Just watching Trey Drexler do what he does. He's he's Brunswick leading scorer for a reason. He's able to score the ball at such a high clip, especially with 29 points tonight. I mean, especially last time when you watch this film when Cleveland Heights and Brunswick watched the film of their game at Cleveland Heights, you don't see Drexler out there. So, this is it's very tough to game plan for a guy like Drexler as what one thing I like to call him. He is a threelevel scorer. He can beat you at all three levels. He can beat you in the paint, he can beat you in the

mid-range, and he can beat you on the perimeter. He has all three of those capabilities at a very high level. Yeah, just over a month ago he set the alltime Brunswick scoring record and he's still got a lot of games to go. That's going to be a tough record to beat anytime soon because nights like this 29 points he just keeps piling it on. >> Yeah, especially it's it comes with all the hard work he puts in. That is one thing that people will not see but behind the scenes especially we have shooting periods where he comes in, gets shots up, is always in the gym. That is one thing and it shows off right there when you when he's able to do that stuff. Working with trainers, being able to have that little twitch,

a simple workout, getting shots up, stuff like that, getting those reps in on especially a taller player like Stevens who was able to send that off the glass. It's just it's a very good finish by Drexler right there. >> Yeah, IU Indies getting a a great ball player and a very hard worker. >> Blue puts the three up in the air. He hits it. Blue 43 >> Devils >> very quietly has 18 points. [applause] >> Foul. >> Blue very good shooter, but this Devils zone. They keep going to this two-3 zone. I don't I don't know if it's been very effective. Blue has been kind of sitting in that corner right there and he's he's hit a couple there. So, if you're the Devils, you kind of got to slide that zone out. Extend it

out. Keep it keep that guy on that low guy in that 2-3. Keep him kind of closer to Blue. Blue is a very good shooter. Yeah, he's made them pay in that zone a couple of times tonight. Messiah Williams was called for that last foul. >> His first team's first. Very different quarter than the third quarter. They only have two fouls called with only 245 left. All right, Hamilton on the dribble gets it to Barnett. Barnett being guarded by Blue. Barnett with the left hand drives dishes to Hamilton. Back out to Stella. Once again, they're starting to face guard Trey Drexler. It's going to be Williams. He's got the assignment of face guarding Trey Drexler. Cannot let him touch the ball. >> That's all right. The rest of the Blue Devils are doing a good

job on the dribble, keeping the ball away from Cleveland Heights. Running some clock down to 215. Wide open drive for Stella. He'll take it. >> That's one thing Drexler realizes so well that not a lot of people will see. It's right there when you're getting face guarded. When Drexler becomes a screener, if Drexler's able to set that good screen right there, you guys saw it right there. Able to clear up so much space there for Stella. >> That's going to be Barnett's fifth fifth foul with with the way that this quarter has gone. I'm I I'm not surprised that Joe Mackey's upset because there was very little contact there on the drive and when you've only called two fouls the rest of the quarter for that to be the one you foul out one of

the best players in the game on >> I think they're just one of those ones two physical teams that are going to battle each other. Let a couple slide here late in this fourth. Nice hustle there by the Tigers. Get the ball in the hands of Williams. His three is no good. >> I believe Blue's going to get called for the foul to fight for the rebound. That is the case. >> Great box out there ever. It's a little thing right there that is able to pick up that foul if he clears him out. Makes him reach over and makes him have to foul him right there if he wants to find a way to get the offensive rebound. Williams again called for a foul. >> Williams in second. >> He's just trying to keep

Drexler from getting the ball. >> Y Hamilton going to get fouled there. >> Hamilton looking to take off. Nothing foroul >> Nixon had to foul there. If Hamilton got free, I mean there was no one behind him. Hamilton just a wideopen >> layup. for Carl Cumber. >> So Nixon is now fouled out. So one for each team on the bench now with five. Stella looking >> gets it in to Ever. Ever to Drexler. Elmani is checked in replacing Barnett. [cheering] Drexler one dribble gets it to Stella. Stella looks under the basket. Elotti was wide open. Didn't feel comfortable with the pass so held on to it. Right now it's just all about killing time and not turning the ball over >> thousand%. I was just about to get to that. Devils look to be in

their delayed game. Take our time. Get a good shot. [cheering] >> Drexler got poked in the poked in the face that time by Jamal Stevens. >> That puts him in the bonus. So >> for the rest of the 113 Devils will be shooting two. I >> think the referees up there. Yeah, you got to come out if there's blood on your jersey, which sucks there. >> Blood on him. >> Was just about to get to that. Hopefully he was hoping Trey could tuck his right arm under there. Hide that away for the Devils cuz especially Cara's not got to come out take care of that. At least they're stopping the game right here. or Mackey. Mackey will take a timeout here, especially to keep Drexler on the floor, which is very smart there by coach

Joe Mackey. >> Well, that's definitely who you want at the free throw line. The lead is down to 13, which seems insurmountable, but not not in this game of basketball. These guys can shoot the three. They're long. They can get some blocks. If you miss the free throws, anything is possible. So, you want you want your best free throw shooter at the line >> 100%. I mean, Drexler has just been so efficient this game. I don't know his field goal percentage, but I feel like every time Drexler shoots it, it's going in. It's been one of those games for him. As you can see, he's got 29 points on the contest. It's It's very good. It's It's stuff you can draw up all these plays and stuff, but at the end of the day, the

players have to go out and make some shots, and Drexler has done that at a very high level tonight. Very strong game by the Blue Devils against a very strong, athletic, uh, well coached Cleveland Heights team. Uh, they just unfortunately have run into Trey Drexler on a night where he's scoring from all over the court. >> Thousand%. I mean, you you can draw up all you want for Drexler, but it's just really tough, especially with how much he moves, how much he has the ball in his hands. It's very tough to face guard Drexler and fully take him away. >> And of course, you can watch all kinds of film, but you didn't play him in the first game. You didn't see him in person. You didn't see what your guys could do against them.

So, it was a little harder to prepare for him having not played him the first time. >> Thousand%. And that's where the coaching staff comes in. You got guys on this bench, especially guys that I've helped that have helped me a lot through my career. Coach Mattis, Trevor Mackey, Mrs. M. Coach Garm and Coach Sabula who's on the bench now. But it's been guys like that who they help. They know that Trey is going to get targeted. They know they're going to try to go at. They are going to throw whatever defense they will at him. And though that coaching staff right there is all over that and picking that up, seeing whatever they need. >> Drexler can't get it to go quickly the other way. >> Might have missed a travel right there on

Stevens. Stevens and Boyd can't get it to go. >> Drexler gets it across and now the Blue Devils should just be able to hold the ball. [applause] Nope. They're going to [cheering] Coach Bremer says, "Nope, we're going to keep going." Nope. [cheering] There's technical [applause] >> Messiah Williams with just a little a little push. >> Yeah. >> Don't know if that was the smartest play, especially with how much physicality he's been this game. Just doing stuff like that. Any little thing like that, you just cannot let the temper get to you like that. >> All right, Drexler to shoot the technical. That gets him to 32. >> Like the Devils going to get some of their guys in. Make sure no one gets hurt. >> So 33 points for Drexler. >> Dom Fenton and Sam

Watkins come in and they'll get Drexler and Everett out of there. [cheering] >> Drexler with just an exceptional night tonight. You can't put it any other way. 33 points from one of the best players in Ohio. It's It's what you expect. But very good there by Drexler and the Devils tonight. Weathering a very physical and good Cleveland Heights team. >> A team that came in with some confidence again because they only lost by two to Brunswick at home. The Devils pull away tonight early and finish with a 6853 victory, moving their record to 10 and0 in the Greater Cleveland Conference and hoping to keep that train going for another GCC championship. >> Thousand% obviously as last year we won it. I was on that team. >> We were able to clinch it at home vers

Madina on senior night. It was a very special night for a lot of us. very special for our seniors to be able to win a GCC conference on our home court. And especially, it's one of the main things, as Mackey always preaches, go for that GCC title, secure that, then let's move on to the tournament. Let's make a good run. Let's get back to that Elite 8. I was part of that team my sophomore year. It was very imp. It was a very fun team. My my junior year, excuse me. Just a very fun moment for us. It was just really fun, especially going down to Ken with all those fans. It's just one of those things you live for as as a player and as a coach like especially for coach Mackey. A very

fun thing like that. >> Well, here's hoping that the Blue Devils can have another GCC Conference Championship this year. >> We'll be back with you with another live stream on Friday the 13th, I believe, against Mentor. >> So, join us then. >> Thank you, Ethan Jean, for joining me tonight. >> Of course. Thank you for having >> to hear your insights from a person who's played in the program is now coaching in the program. Good luck with your team few games that you have left and uh great having you in the broadcast. >> Thank you, man. It was great sharing it with you. Great time tonight. >> All right, once again, your final score for Brunswick High School, Blue Devils 68, Tigers 53. >> Good work, man. >> That was awesome. Good job.
