001do not happen by accident. They are the result of hard work, support from family and staff, and a mindset focused on growth and opportunity. To our scholarship sponsors, thank you for your generosity and continued investment in our students and our community. Your support provides opportunities that will have a lasting impact on the futures of these young men and women. We are truly grateful for the partnership and the commitment to education. So once again, thank you to all of our donors here today, scholarship partners. To our seniors, this recognition is only the beginning. As you move into your next chapter, share with you the confidence, experiences, and lessons you have gained during your time here. Continue to lead with integrity, serve with purpose, and approach life with curiosity and determination. At this time, your senior class

002president, Miss Payne Smith, will lead us in our pledge of allegiance. If you could all stand. >> All right. I Oh, shoot. I forget. Hold on. You guys, I forgot how I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> All right. Okay. Now for the Zeus Memorial Scholarship, Shelby Howard. >> The Carile class of 2013 created this scholarship in memory of our classmate and dear friend, Zach Richards. Zach got his nickname Zeus by a middle school football coach. Um he was known for his positive outlook um his perseverance through his battle with leukemia which he unfortunately lost the battle in the um fall of 2013 following our graduation. Um he was a

003a goofy guy. He was fun to be around. He always had a smile on his face and had everybody else smiling around him. To know him was to love him. We had a great group of applicants this year. Um, thank you all for applying. The student that we picked this year demonstrated perseverance through or resilience and perseverance through um, tough times while maintaining a positive outlook. And the winner of the Zeus scholarship this year is Payton Smith. Okay, now for the Carile Baseball Association Scholarship, Luke Lawson. Hello, my name is Luke Lawson with Carile Baseball Association. And for 70 years, Carlile Baseball Association's been a part of the community. And uh in that time, thousands of men and women have donated their time and efforts to enriching the lives of young people in the community.

004Um and in 2022, we decided to start a scholarship to give back and invest more back into the community. And that scholarship is a student volunteer of the year uh scholarship. and this year's scholarship winner. Uh each year they tell us about their volunteer opportunities and how it's enriched their lives, how they've given back to the community uh themselves. And this year's scholarship winner is Maya Howard. for the Carile Alumni Association and Best Attendant Scholarship, Randy Winkler. Good morning and congratulations to the seniors getting ready to to graduate and go on to bigger and better things. I wish you all the best in whatever your path takes you. Uh have a scholarship here or a uh attendance award and the attendance award this year goes to Zack Cobb. Just just have one more thing here.

005The we do have an alumni association. We we have a dinner once a year. It's currently held over in Shiakwa. and we'd like to invite the seniors since you will be the newest graduates to the alumni dinner this year. We'd appreciate it if you could if you could come. I also have one other thing I get asked a lot. When was going to start building? Um when are they going to open? So on and so forth. So I found out the last part of that comment there last night. McDonald's is scheduled to have their grand opening on July the 11th. They are they are currently they are currently hiring and looking for good people to work. and they gave me a flyer to bring over to the school that has a QR code on the

006bottom. And if you are interested in working for McDonald's, they would like to employ all of their people from the Carlile area. So these will be in the school. Uh from what they tell told us last night, they pay a pretty good hourly wage with a lot of benefits. So if you're interested in working for McDonald's, they'll be opening up here very early in July. Okay. For the Bruce Walker Memorial Scholarship, Allison Anderson and Sue Walker. Good morning and congratulations to the class of 2026 and the rising seniors, class of 2027. you've made it to the top. Um, I think it's funny that there's a McDonald's because I graduated in 1989 and we didn't have a traffic light. So, we're moving up. Anyway, my name is Allison Anderson. This is my mother, Sue Walker. And,

007uh, my sister, Christy Thompson, couldn't be here today. She's class of 1991. Our father, uh, Bruce Walker, taught mathematics starting in 1969 until the day he retired in 1995. um he passed away from cancer, we'll say heart disease in 2016. So, we're celebrating the life of Bruce Walker um continue to celebrate and we do that by the ninth scholarship um award for this uh and and and Bruce, my dad, um loved his students a lot. Um, so don't discount the the love you feel from your teachers because it is it is true and you've had good teachers here and and remember them for a long time and just like I do with my mom who taught here as well gradu or retired in 97 and 98 98. So this year's recipient showed a lot of

008perseverance as well um as a recipient of the Zoo Scholarship and she represents the class well I believe and this year's recipient is Jessa Blair Thank you very much and good luck to you all as you move on for the Angela I don't know how to say that angle breakfast scholarship. It's Patty and Becky Ren Pro. Good morning everyone. Um, congratulations to all of the 2026 seniors. I hope all of you had some great memories in high school. Um, but do remember it is definitely a great point in your life, but it's also one point in your life. You're going to have many more journeys in your life. And I hope that you take what you learned here and use it in in the next part in your life. As you graduate, remember that whether

009you're going to college, a trade school, maybe you're going to join the armed forces, maybe you're going to take some time off, maybe you're going to go in the workforce, maybe work for McDonald's. Either way, make sure that you enjoy it. Work hard for what you want. Know that even if you decide something today, you may change your mind of what you want to do tomorrow. And that's okay. Find that great support system and make sure that they're there to help support you. Because trust me, a great support system is what everyone needs in this life. Don't forget to thank those people around you who have helped you get there along the way. your parents, grandparents, other family members, your teachers, and your friends, and anyone else close to you. Make sure that you say

010thank you because trust me, thank you goes a long way. And always be respectful to everyone that you meet. You never know when they might just be having a bad day and you just might be saying, "Hello, how are you?" might brighten their day. On to their scholarship. So my sister Angela Inglerech Angie was once a Carlaro High School senior. She graduated in 1998 in the top five of her class. She was the embodiment of loving music. She took piano lessons at a very young age and she made playing piano look so easy. Her and I would sing. We'd harmonize together all different kinds of songs. Especially she liked Phantom of the Opera. She had what was called perfect pitch. That's where you could sing a certain note and as soon as sun as somebody

011played it, she could sing it. She was blessed with just many talents. She was also very involved in her school. She was in the choir as well as all of the marching concert pep jazz bands. She played saxophone and later learned to play the bassoon, which she played at Capitol University where she pursued music education. Not only did she love music, but she loved kids and loved inspiring them. when she was um taking a being um her um helping to like learn to teach and she would join in a class, she those kids just absolutely loved her. They just loved her bright smile, the way that she would just help them, you know, just enjoy the music and learn it as well. She did complete some of her student teaching while getting her degree and

012like I said, the students absolutely just loved her. She was caring, she was gentle, and music just shined right through her. In November of 2011, Angie was diagnosed with stage 4 colarctal cancer. She continu continued to work as much as she could and had a wonderful work ethic. Three short years later, before Thanksgiving in 2014, Angie did passfully but very peacefully. The scholarship we present today is in honor of her memory for music teaching and all of the young people that she inspired and obviously hope to inspire in the future. So today we are presenting this to Danica Isaac. for the MVCTC Awards. Jessica Good morning. I'm Jessica Mumal, one of the principles at Miami Valley Career Technology Center. I'm here to present the principal's award. This recip this recipient demonstrated a strong work ethic

013and a commitment to academics and attendance. She has already received her award, but please join me in congratulating Madison Friends Frenzer on her accomplishment. Okay. Um, National Award of Excellence, the Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award, and OSAA Scholarship Athlete Award, John Augustine. >> Good morning. I have three awards. Um, as voted on, two of them are voted on by our coaches, varsity coaches. First is the National Award of Excellence. It's presented to the high school seniors, male and female, who've exhibited qualities that embody good citizenship, good character, good sporting behavior. This year's NFHS Award of Excellent recipients are Haven Gooling and Jackson Macintosh. Our second awards, uh, the Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award. This award was created by Ohio State legend Archie Griffin in an effort to recognize student athletes that exemplify great sportsmanship. This year's OSAA

014Archie Griffin Award winners are Maya Howard and Luke Richards. Our last awards, the OSA Scholar Athlete Award. Uh, this award is given to the student athlete, male and female, that have achieved significant success both in the classroom and through athletics. This year's OSAA Scholar Athlete Award recipients are Jessa Blair and Drew Conger. for the kindness matter scholarship. Jill French. So on the first day of school, students usually wear a first day of school t-shirt. They cost money and we take all of the money that is raised in that project and split it between two seniors. We have a senior who nominates another senior based on their kindness that they have exemplified. So, um, Annalie, if you want to come up here, I want to read what Annalie wrote about one of her classmates, um, and

015how they exemplify kindness. Says, "Growing up in a small school, I got to learn a great deal about people's personalities and morals. Being surrounded by these people my whole life, I've learned about their true character. However, out of the 104 people in the class of 2026, there's one person that best exemplifies kindness. That person is Abby Turner. Abby and I may not be close friends, but when you share the same last name with someone throughout grade school, you can't help but develop a close bond. For as long as I've known Abby, she has always been an incredible role model of how to treat people. Whether it's complimenting my outfit, giving me some words of encouragement, or helping with an assignment I don't understand, Abby always has a positive attit attitude. I have a vivid memory

016of Abby that illustrates the kind of optimism that she puts out in the world. As someone who gets really nervous when they get in front of crowds, when I had to present my summer project for English 11, safe to say I was a nervous wreck. Abby gave me encouragement before and after my speech and provided me with positive feedback about my presentation. She was able to make a very stressful situation into a calm and memorable learning experience. Princess Diana once said, "Carry out a ra random act of kindness with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you." This quote is exactly how Abby treats the world. Nothing but kindness with no expectation of reward. She is an undeniably kind person, one of those people that

017gener genuinely doesn't have a mean bone in their body. Even if it's just giving you a quick smile in the hallway, Abby fills every room with a kind of positivity and warmth that I have never witnessed before. I believe that kindness can take you as far as you want it to. So, I have no doubt that Abby will be successful in the future. I can't wait to see what Abby does with her life and how many more people she can affect and change with her kindness. Thank you both for being kind and for recognizing that. for the CR scholarship. Marilyn Brown and Cynthia Tusano. Good morning. I'm Marilyn Brown, president of Carlile Educational Recognition Association or CRA. And with me today is Cynthia Axiotus Tuscano. This will be our seventh year to award scholarships since

018reactivating the organization in 2018. It should be our eighth year, but we didn't get to have it in 2020 when the year was cut short. But we did still keep records. As a lot of you may know, CRA was started about 60 years ago by a group of community members that wanted to recognize student achievement. Some of you here today may have been members of CRA sometime during those years. We have been able to fund our awards ceremonies and award scholarships the last seven years through fundraisers that we have had and through donations by individuals and businesses. Feel free to check out our CRA Facebook page in a few days and see all the businesses and individuals that have supported us this year. They were listed on the back of our program booklet that we

019handed out at our awards ceremony May 4th and 5th. Parents and students, please, please, please support those businesses that want to support your academic achievement. A little over a week ago, we recognized 397 students into CRA. At that time, there were 14 people judging the applications that had been turned in for the three scholarships that we were offering. To be eligible for a scholarship, a student must be a member of CRA for six years. Applications were given to 35 qualifying seniors and 12 students completed the application and wrote an essay on the topic. How has your Carile School experience influenced your goals for the future? Let me say that we are very proud of those 12 students that were motivated enough to fill out the application and write an essay. The judges said that the

020essays were extremely good this year and they had a difficult time ranking them. The names on the applications were whited out, so the people who were judging did so blindly. They voted for whichever application or essay they felt was most deserving for whatever reason they chose. We will be offering three scholarships today. The first recipient receiving the third highest score from the judges and receiving a scholarship in the amount of $500 is Brooke Lakes. Congratulations, Brooke. The second recipient receiving the second highest score from the judges and receiving a scholarship in the amount of $750 is Genevieve Miller. Congratulations, Genevieve. The third scholarship we are awarding is a very special scholarship that honors a 32-year veteran teacher, Mrs. Eleanor Axiotus. Mrs. Zaxiotus shaped the lives of nearly 1,000 students over the years, many of whom

021went on to become educators themselves. Most of Mrs. Axiotus' years were spent teaching third and fourth grade here at Carlilele. Mrs. Axiotus' family is honoring her by awarding a thousand scholarship through CRA. Her daughter Cynthia is here today to award that scholarship. The third recipient receiving the highest score from the judges and receiving a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 in honor of Mrs. Elellanar Axiotus is Lucy Knap. Congratulations, Lucy. Again, congratulations to all three of our winners and a big thank you to all that applied. Let me finish with this. Teachers, you should feel very proud of the job you are doing. There were several teachers that were named in the essays, but I would say just about every essay mentioned what great teachers Carlile has and how they have helped them in their

022journey. So, pat yourself on the back and take pride in the job that you are doing. CRA wants to wants to congratulate all the seniors that will be graduating in a few days. Best of luck as you venture out in the world as a 2026 Kurly High School graduate. Good job. Now for the Edna Chamberlain and Virgil Davis Awards, Miss Conger and Mr. Turner. Okay. In 1975, Carlile High School established the annual outstanding girl athlete Edna Chamberlain Award to be presented to the girl having excelled in athletics and sportsmanship during that school year. Janet Brown was the first recipient. Miss Edna attended Carile Schools, graduating with the class of 1900. She then attended Jacob's Business College in Dayton, Ohio, graduated from McFadden College of Physical Culture in Chicago in 1912 and was director of recreation

023association in Middletown in 1923. In the spring of 1921, she organized and trained the first Carile school athletic team to participate in an intercolastic event. She took this group of elementary students to the Warren County track and field meet held at Harmon Field in Lebanon, Ohio, where they became the 1921 champions. This started the tradition of excellence in athletics in Carlile schools which was followed by county track and field champions the following three years and these by many athletic championships in succeeding years. The background makes striving for and winning the Edna Chamberlain Girls Athletic Award an honor to be most cherished as a highlight of attending Carile High School. As the 1995 recipient myself, it is my honor to present Maya Howard as this year's recipient. First of all, I'd like to say congratulations seniors.

024We wish you the best of luck. I'm here to give up the Virgil M. Davis Memorial Athletic Award. It's presented to a worthy senior male athlete from each graduating class on the basis of enthusiasm, sportsmanship, citizenship, and scholarship. This award was established by Miss Virgil Davis in April of 1964 and this year marks the 63rd annual Virgil M. Davis Memorial Athletic Award. The family established this award hoped it would encourage very high school boys to strive to greater heights in using the pillars of enthusiasm, sportsmanship, citizenship, scholarship, and regardless of the obstacles they may encounter. The recipient is chosen by all the head coaches in the athletic department and is considered one of the most respectable athlet athletic honors. As a 1988 87 recipient myself, it is with great pleasure that I recognize Mr. Drew

025Congert. >> You got to give him a hug first. Go ahead. >> Okay. >> This might be the first mother daughter who won or mother mother sons. I'm sorry Drew. Congratulations. Thank you. Drew, I truly apologize. I did not mean to say that. So, okay. I'm here. I'm gonna give away another scholarship. The Musmansburg Moose uh lodge number 1645 gives away a $1,000 scholarship to any student whose parent or immediate family is a member of the Moose. and we had uh several uh people apply for it, but this year's recipient is James Paul Moore. The Valley Real Estate and Church in the Village Family Extra Mile Awards is Craig and Eric Clarkson. At Valley Real Estate and Church in the Village, we believe that people who make the biggest impact are those who lift others

026up, support those around them, and help make others better. Whether in the classroom, on the field, or in everyday life, these individuals lead through their actions in the way they treat others. Today we are presenting two awards to to students who consistently demonstrate these qualities. This award is not based on stats, resumes, essays or test scores. It's actionbased. It recognizes students who put others before themselves, encourages those around them and make a positive impact on their pe peers and community. We are proud to honor two students who truly represented these values through their career and their character and their actions were present every day. Those two students are Lily Mclofflin and Brook Lakes. The staff at Carile Local School District is truly an exceptional group. From classrooms to hallways and everywhere in between, our staff

027members work every day to create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for students and families. As we celebrate our students and our seniors today um in this important milestone, this is also a time to recognize the amazing staff who helped guide, encourage, and support them along the way. Um, at this time, Valley Real Estate and the Church in the Village will present three awards to recognize staff members and individuals who go above and beyond in making a positive impact on our school and community. We're going to do these one at a time because I believe the staff here is a better than anywhere you'll find. And I think these these individuals are deserving of a McDonald's is coming to town type of applause. So, uh, our first award winner is Miss Nicole Meyer. Our second

028award winner is Mr. Kendall Peek. And a few months ago, I was uh walking through the halls. I think I was doing interviews for uh Mr. Brown, and I had a conversation with a teacher. And this teacher took the extra time to um educate me on a lot of history that I had no clue about. Um and so this award winner goes to Donnie Ritinger. on behalf of me and Craig, uh, class of 2026. Um, you guys are some of my favorite people. Um, Some of these football guys know what I'm getting ready to say. If you just continue being who you are, you're going to be all right. All right. Congratulations. >> The SE scholarship is Kevin Baker. Uh again, congrats class of 2026. Uh being another community program, say soccer in Carlile has

029been around a very long time and it was at one of these one of a meeting we were at. We like we need to start giving back to our students as well. Uh putting in the time playing. Preference to this from future moving forward. This is our first year of doing this is going to be soccer players, female, male. Um and then after that we would look at other sports but in what have you done previous years youth growing up giving back those type of things was in the essay and this year's the first recipient for the say soccer scholarship is Jessa Blair for the Pam Phyllis Goings Memorial Scholarship. Jenny and Amy. Good morning. This scholarship is presented in loving memory of our mom Pamela Phillips Goings, a beloved teacher at Autumn Brown Elementary

030School for 35 years and dedicated her life to education in the community Carlile community. This award honors her legacy by supporting a graduating senior who reflects her values of kindness, education, and community involvement. Congratulations to this year's recipients who reflect her values of education, kindness, and community involvement. Jackson Macintosh and Maya Howard. Now, the Jewel Foundation Scholarship, Jill French. Okay. Um, the Jewel Education Foundation was unable to be here, so I'm going to present this scholarship on behalf of them. says, "The Juul Education Foundation partners with seven Warren County schools and the Warren County Career Center by awarding one student from each high school a scholarship to help with their first semester of higher education. The Juul Education Foundation was born from a passion to unite Warren County to provide the best education for the

031future with the hope of our students returning to live, work, and invest in Warren County. The Juul Education Foundation is pleased to award Jaden Messer the scholarship. Okay. And then I have one more here. Um, two years ago, the state of Ohio created the Governor's Merit Scholarship. It is d designed to incentivize Ohio's top graduating high school seniors to attend a college or university in the state to stay in Ohio. The Governor's Merit Scholarship is offered to the top 5% as determined at the end of their junior year of graduating seniors in each of Ohio's public and non-public high schools. It is $5,000 a year for four years as long as you attend college in Ohio. This year's Governor's Merit Scholarship was offered to, and if you guys could just stand while I call your

032name, Riley Alman, Jessa Blair, Drew Conger, Maya Howard, Lucas Richards, and Cody Sparta. Congratulations, guys. for the Orioles Nest Scholarship. Joe Overton 45 years ago exactly what I was thinking. It goes fast. Goes real fast. And life is precious. the Orioles. Uh 1910 is when we started and what we do is we give to the community and to our members. Uh we're up around $600,000 donated. Um we were invited into the Carile family by Brian and Erica Sprle. You may know them. They're not here today, but we thank you guys for accepting us. We were proud to be a part of your track, your new track. That is awesome. Um, yeah, let's the track. I've probably hired nearly a thousand people in my life. Uh, so I know a little bit about what you need

033to do uh to be successful. And success isn't money. It's enjoying your life. Um, so probably you could have skipped all the schooling and just came to me and I'd give you some advice here and you'd be ready to go. Get up in the morning and make your bed. You're going to start the day doing something positive. Drive careful, show up, and don't let anybody tell you you can't do anything. Do what you want to do. Um, we have a small group of people that choose our recipients, and we had our first recipient and we felt like we needed to have another. Um, so I run a business and I went to that business and uh we came up with some more money. We have two scholarships, $1,500 each. Um, awarded to students that uh

034excel in life, not just in academics, although that's a big part of it. Um, we want to congratulate the award winners this year. And then I have one other thing I want to say after they come up. Um, Haven Gooling and Jackson Mintosh. Jackson, you're going to Ohio Northern up in Ada playing some football up there. Congratulations. You're going into nursing at Miami Hamilton, right? All right. >> Uh had the great fortune of hanging out with an individual this past weekend up on the lake. We didn't do great fishing for walleye. Um, Donnie, I think you're back there, right? You want to stand up? This guy's a great fisherman. He handles himself well on the boat. Puts up with a lot. Um, the Orioles will be donating $2,500 to your girls softball team. So, we

035wanted to let you know we'll have that money to you u by the end of May. Thanks, everybody. for the Carile Athletic Booster Scholarship. Kelly Milligan and Erica Brown. All right. Good morning. Um I'm Kelly Milligan. Erica had uh had to run off real quick. Um we'd like to first uh say thank you. Uh congratulations to the class of 2026 seniors. Um we are um we are very proud of your accomplishments. Um each and every one of you have achieved. Each year the athletic boosters has the pleasure of awarding two scholarships, one male, one female for um a few different achievements um not just in a athletics but in grades as well as good sportsmanship and characteristics and community volunteer. Um the decision is based on points. Um this year winner recipients is Maya Howard

036and Jackson Macintosh. Franklin B. Walter scholarship recognition, Robert Fiser. All right, good morning everybody. Uh, first one, we're just going to have this individual stand to be recognized. Uh, but earlier in April, uh, this award was taken care of. So, Carlile Local Schools would like to recognize and congratulate Drew Conger. If you could please stand. I'm being selected as the Carile Local Schools and Warren County recipient for the prestigious Franklin B. Walter Award. The Franklin B. Walter Award uh honors students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and citizenship. And Drew was formerly recognized, as I mentioned earlier, during the April 10th awards program where he received a $500 scholarship for being the uh Carlile Local Schools recipient, but also a $1,000 scholarship uh for the Warren County recipient. So $1,500 total. So again, congratulations, Drew.

037And I also get to do the Carile um scholarship employee scholarship. So each year the Carlilele staff members come together uh to support our students not just in the classroom but also through generous contributions to the Carile employee scholarship fund. Applicants are asked to share their plans for the next five years and reflect on the teachers or staff who've had the most influence on them. Uh there are three uh winners this year. They will each receive a $500 scholarship. And the following winners are Drew Conger, Danica Isaac, and Brooklyn Lakes. All right, congratulations to all of our winners and congratulations to the class of 2026. the Jackie Boy Memorial Scholarship. Kenzie Hammock. Jackie Boy was an educational aid at Carile High School where she assisted students with special needs. She passed away unexpectedly on June

03829th, 2010 after nine years of service at Carile High School. Jackie was an avid supporter of the fine arts programs here at CHS and she always encouraged students to participate in the fine arts. She knew how transformative the self-expression, empathy, and community cultivated in the arts can be in a young person's life. She left behind a legacy of love, dedication, and connection, specifically in the fine arts. And it's an honor to continue her legacy with the Jackie Boy Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship selection committee is comprised of Carlile High School alumni that participated in theater, choir, band, and visual art. Each year, our committee selects a graduating senior who has been heavily involved in the fine arts and who best embodies the principles that Jackie stood for. It's with great pride that I present the 2026

039Jackie Boy Memorial Scholarship to Riley Mitchell. The Carile Band Booster Scholarship. John Oliver Good morning. Uh, the Bayoosters are a parent support organization for all of our band and guard programs. And this year we have a scholarship. Let's give it up for Danica Isaac. Okay, well, we've made it. This is like my favorite part of my job is getting to share what the class of 2026 plans to do when they leave this place. So, um, I have a list as they reported to me, um, about what their plans are after graduation. So, we're going to call them up one by one. Guys, if you just want to line the stage, we'll probably have to make two rows so that we can all welcome you to the world of adulthood and what you're moving on to

040do. Um, underassmen, listen to all of the cool things that they are doing. they are.
