Huh? Where's the noise? I put my little notes to make sure I Are you ready for us? Tell them what I got. Hello. All right, you guys ready to get started? All right, welcome Carl students and parents to the CRA 2026 award ceremony. I'm Karen Grooms, the treasurer and I'm here on behalf of the Carile Educational Recognition Association, CRA. I want to say congratulations to students for academic achievement and being eligible for CRA. I want to al also thank um all the all the people who made it possible for us to be here today. You are receiving a CRA certificate today from your community who want to recognize your academic achievement and say how very proud we are of you. 002Stewart, vice president and social media coordinator. Once we read your name, um please come forward and receive your your certificates and go back to your seat. Now, I would like to introduce Marilyn Brown to provide more information about CRA and why we're here to honor you today. Good morning again, seventh and eighth graders, parents, and other relatives. Uh let me again welcome you to our CRA awards ceremony for 2026. We're so happy to

be here to recognize your academic achievement. Again, I'm Marilyn Brown, president of CRA, and Karen Grooms, our treasurer, and our helpers, uh Janelle and Emma. Janelle was a member of CRA back in the 90s. I want to send out a big thank you to Mr. Turner for allowing us to have the ceremony here today and a big thank you to Angie for sending out our invitations via final forms and to Quinn Hammock for recording the ceremony today. So, seventh graders, you you were sent an invitation via final forms this year and you probably thought, "What is this? What is this organization? I've never heard of it. And eighth graders, you probably thought, now what is this organization again? I forget what it's all about. Well, let me tell you a little bit about our organization.

CRA stands for Carlile Educational Recognition Association. The purpose of the organization is to provide recognition to students in grades 7 through 12 who make honor or merit role for three of the last four grading periods, but one of these must be honor role. We use the fourth nine weeks of your previous grade and the first three nine weeks of your current grade to determine eligibility. Another purpose of CRA is to award scholarships to eligible seniors. Any senior that has been a member of CRA for six years is eligible to apply for the scholarship. Applications were given to 35 eligible seniors and 12 students completed and returned their application in essay. A group of 14 people ranked them and the three students that received the highest score will be awarded a scholarship at the high school

awards assembly on May 13th. CRA has actually been in existence for about 60 years. My own kids were in CRA about 30 years ago and a lot of a lot of the parents in the audience may have been a member of CRA back in the day. At that time I was involved in the organization as a parent and a teacher. About eight years ago I discovered that CRA wasn't an active organization anymore. So, a small group of ladies have been working since then to revitalize the organization. We started with no money in 2018. We've had several fundraisers over the last eight years to change that situation. We have also received support from various businesses which are located on the back of your program. So, please, please, please support those businesses that want to support your

academic achievements. Our current fundraiser is taking orders for watch me grocerers for incoming kindergarten students. And we've had some other fundraisers selling and sman week for the teachers. Last year we gave out 430 certificates and awarded two scholarships. This year we will be giving out 397 certificates and awarding three scholarships. Students, be sure to share your certificate that you received today and your program with your parents. You should be very proud of your accomplishments and we are very proud of you. Keep up the good work. Students, also let your parents know that the pro that the ceremony is being recorded and will will be played on Carlile's YouTube channel. I think that's enough information for now. So, let's get on with recognizing those seventh and eighth grade students that are now a member of CRA.
