I'll second that. >> We will take that to a vote then. >> Mr. Claus. >> Yes. >> Mr. Schlike abstain. >> Mr. Fuber. >> Hi. >> And Mrs. Summer. >> Yes. >> Mr. Hillsman. >> Yes. >> The vote is ab extension. >> Okay. Vice president. >> And the next word we need to nominate a vice

Or >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Guess what I'm doing? >> Going fishing? >> I'm going fishing. >> Would there be any problem if we bump that up to 50? >> We'd have to go the other way or the other way. You're in, so I would prefer to go later than earlier. >> Okay. Did anybody have a problem with the 29th? >> Okay, we'll move that to the 29th. There's not a school schedule agenda or meeting issue is there on the 29th. Okay. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> Any other conflicts? Can I make a note just too on those locations is typically in those uh the months of June, July and August,

005we hold those at the ed complex and one thought was to see if we might be able to host those meetings in different locations um associated with our district for example Tristar. So I just have to be determined on here at this point because I'd like to check with um Tim and Paula at Tristar to see if there would be any conflicts. I was going to suggest the media center at the elementary school, >> too. It's a good idea. >> Thank you. So, we can we can set those locations and then make sure that we get those um publicized once those are confirmed. >> Okay. Well, before we agenda, I want to thank Mrs. Damian Ben for bringing her class here with us. The she is the teaching professions instructor out at Tristar. And ladies,

006thanks for coming this evening and um >> sit in the front row. >> Yes, sit in the front and any questions be around after we answer them for you. And Mr. I think you're legislator there man. Now Michelle, does that go over to you now? This is just the authorization. >> Okay. So, so this is just standard procedures and not >> Yeah. So, these are the treasures authorizations and also then our superintendent authorizations. Anybody have any questions on that? >> I did not see anything new. There isn't anything new, is there? >> And the board authorizations change. They are the same appears to be. So, okay, we have we don't have any questions. Can I get

Julie, thank you both. >> Mr. Clouse, >> hi. >> Mr. Schler, >> yes. >> Mr. Huber, >> hi. >> Mrs. Summer. >> Hi, >> Mr. Billman. >> Hi. >> Okay. This is the declaration of if we want insurance or not. So, we would have to each um make it known today if we would like the health insurance, dental, or vision. So, I'll just read down through the names. Mr. Claus, >> no. >> Mr. Huber, >> no. >> Mr. Goldman, >> no. >> Mr. Schler, no. And Mrs. Summer? >> No. >> Thank you. I'll make a motion this meeting. I'll second. 009board meeting. This meeting is a meeting of the board of education in public for the purpose of conducting the school district's business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There is time for public participation during the meeting as indicated by the agenda. We'll call to order and roll call. Mr. Claus >> here, >> Mr. Schlanker >> here, >> Mr. Cuber here, Mrs. Summer >> here, >> and Mr. Gman >> here. Okay. Is there anything that needs to be changed on this agenda before we set it? >> Okay. Can I get a motion to set the agenda, please? >> I'll do it. >> Julie, second. >> Thank you. Vote, >> Mr. Claus. >> Hi, >> Mr. Schler. >> Yes. >> Mr. Huber. >> Hi, >> Mrs. Summer. >> Hi, >> Mr. Phillips. Hi.

010Okay. First up is Cherry Sherry or Trese. I don't see either one of them here this evening. So, and I don't see Joanie also. Uh, Phil, can we get a facilities update? Um, here. All right. So on paper, um the progress is just more of the same, but when you go into the building, it's starting to take on more of a finished appearance. I mean, there as rooms are being done, you know, it's no longer a big open space with just studs, you can start to see classroom, classroom, classroom, office, you know, um media center, you know, so on so forth. So, um it's really, um start, you can start to tell exact spaces as you go through the building. And then as they start again, they finish from the top down and from the

011inside out. So, on the third floor, um painting is being completed. Um they're actually putting floors down in the science room. There's a resonance floor going down. So, you start looking at finished floors. All the ceiling grids are in. Um third floor they're starting to put um uh put the ceiling pads, lights, all the light just like these are going into the trays. Um so like I said all the rooms are starting to take on you know classroom identity. Um which is really kind of neat. Um finishes are going through drywall now the second floor first third floor is being painted. Second floor drywall is complete. They're starting to paint the second floor and now they're finishing on drywall on the first floor. So again, they're working their way down um the finishing, you know,

012all all the finishes are coming through into that area. Um then as you go back through um the painting, just more painting going on, more drywall being installed. And then the last of the nonstructural masonry is going in. So if you look at the north end of the building, um kind of up in that area, there's a career tech comes around on the west side and in the north end is a music department. And all those walls went in. There's a lot of offices and practice space. So, a lot of that big space got chopped up into individual practice rooms, little ensemble, rehearsal rooms. So, that part's getting done. Now, they're coming on the east side from the north to the south, and they're finishing up all the masonry coming along those, which is all

013the locker rooms. So, what was a big open area has now been subdivided down into um the locker rooms coming off the competition gym, and they're finishing up lock rooms off the auxiliary gym. So masonry is being completed that way. They're now working down towards the legacy hall and um conversation every day with um Kelly Williams. The last to be done is going to be athletic director's office. So they're working their way, you know, back to get that all that finished up. But the stage is just is amazing. Um projection. They've got all the the tall story the tall space um block walls were done. and they're finishing out drywall, you know, up to the to the ceiling in that area. Um, so just making some massive space. You start to get the feel where

014you see through animation. Um, seating's going to go here. Operable walls are going to go here. You know, the precinium for the stage is I just it's beautiful. Changing room, storage rooms, lifts, and stairs and all of that is just being added and completed. And, you know, you really get a feel for what for how it's going to develop. Um the the next thing or the the next piece I'm very excited about. I don't know why we didn't do this any sooner, but um I contacted the media arts, Mrs. Ball's media arts class, and they do the bulldog beat. They're all the time videotaping some stuff. So, we're down to a great point. So, she dedicated a group of about six students that's going to come through and they're doing a progress video segments um

015that we're going to push out. We'll release. They send it out to the schools. So, I'll push it out to you guys. We'll plug it, you know, to website. Uh, we got to get all that through Peterson as they're doing, you know, taking a look approving all their videos and stuff. Then, we'll start pushing that out. And what these what these young adults have done, they've overlaid kind of the animation of what things are going to look like. So, they reshot the animation as they're walking through. So, you can see here's what the entry is going to look like. Here's where it is today. So, they're working their way kind of back around, you know, simultaneous um video taking place and then they're going to they've got a lot more ideas. I won't spoil it

016because they have a lot more ideas of, you know, interviewing workers and talking, you know, taking existing space, you know, and and laying it adjacent to new spaces and and a lot of those ideas. So, it's going to be a several week project. We'll introduce it segments at a time and then they'll throw it all together into one, you know, big running video when it's done. So, >> any idea when that first segment comes out, Phil? >> Um, they they shot it and I looked at it. They want to add um they want to do a little commentation with it. So, they're going to um overlay some of the introductions a little bit. You know, they're going to put a few pieces I'm hoping in the next week. Awesome. So, we'll get that. So, but

017yeah, there's some progress photos. Other than that, um I'll send those out. Where things stand kind of slowed down. They took some time off over Christmas break. Um but otherwise um jump over to the elementary pre uh the elementary building. They were working on brick. Um and they did take a little break from that as well. They got pulled off to go to another job. They're going to wait till it warms up a little bit and then they'll come back and finish. I think they've got all the um call it demo work. They they've removed all the the broken ground broken all the cocking you know everything was falling apart. So they removed everything. Now they need to go back and finish a little we'll regrow a lot of the mortar joint or add mortar

018back to the mortar joints and then um coaul around all the openings where we're getting some water issues. So they'll be back on that here in the next couple of weeks. Oh, I almost forgot. Last thing back over within the next 2 weeks. And I'll I'll reiterate this if there's anybody that um because the kids have asked as well. There's still those large plywood openings that are at odd places. One's out there facing Wayne Street. and it looks like this set of double doors off of a third floor into nowhere, but that is so that they can continue to load material. They've got massive tool boxes. They've got scissor lifts and other equipment up there that they'll pull down. Um they're also in the next couple weeks, we'll start putting our case work or all

019of our built-in cabinetry. We'll start being loaded into that space and then distribute across the third floor. The second floor comes in from the ends and they'll do the same thing. And then once they get that done, they'll relay that masonry and reinstall those window units and go back in. So, not going to be there for a minute. So, any questions for Phil? Cool. >> Phil, thank you. >> Yep. Thank you. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So, January is school board recognition month. Um, and I think it important just to take some time to acknowledge what our board of education does as individuals and as a collective and for our future educators in the room. Um, just so you recognize that I hope that when it comes time for you to pursue your career and find

020a district, it's important that you also look for a district that has a supportive board of education. Because what these folks do is they put themselves out there. they they changed their roles in a way from community members to liaons. And so um you know it looks like one minute you can go through Walmart and you're just a community member who's shopping and the next as a school board member you could be going through Walmart as a community member but now you're a board member and you might be approached to answer some questions. So, you put yourselves out there, right? Um to to take those questions, to have those conversations, some of them um pleasant, some of them more challenging, and that's what helps a district move forward and function. Um and I know that

021Michelle and I um are fortunate to have you as our board members uh and the support and dedication again being active in your roles instead of passive. So, thank you for that. You >> Thank you. Okay, on to public participation, >> Teresa. >> Okay. In your way, then walk up there. >> Yeah, it's all right. I can walk around it. Well, good evening. I'm Teresa Hick. I am I live on 7531 State Route 197 here in Salon. Um before I miss misspeak, uh Michelle, and I know I'm supposed to address Adam, but um on your list of payables, your checks that went out, that first number there, is that the check number? Yes. Okay. Cuz I have a question about one of the checks. So, check number uh 17507 for Bob Rogers travel. Um it's

02234,925. I was um I was just asking is that for the DC buses coming up or is that for something else that >> I would have to check, Teresa, but I'm assuming that's for the DC trip coming up. >> Okay. because I see where >> I'll I'll let you know for sure. >> Okay. Because I see where um two of our businesses donated $15,000 a piece for the DC buses. So I I just >> Bob Rogers pay that's the whole trip. >> Okay. >> So we pay Bob Rogers whatever that is per student and they handle the whole um package. to speak. >> Does that make sense? >> Yes. Um I also noticed that the uh elementary school received a donation of a washer and a dryer >> and I was just wondering is that

023something new or we always had washer and dryers in the in our school system or I'm I'm I'm just looking at Adam. I mean I don't need a I don't need an answer unless you want to give it to me. Cory, do you want to speak to that? >> Sure, Teresa. We received a a newer than what we had, but yes, we've always had those in our buildings. Not every building. Um, for example, the old elementary had one washer and dryer, and that was just exclusive for cafeteria, but we also had some that we could utilize for student clothing. Um, we brought the best one that we had over from the three buildings to our building, but in reality wasn't great shape. So when this donation came from it was used. It was from the

024family. >> Um but it was nicer than what we had. So >> right, >> we were happy to accept it. >> Where do you normally locate those? And um I'm just asking cuz I've never heard of a washing machine and dryer. >> Elementary school mechanical rooms. >> Mechanical rooms. Okay. um if the student population were to grow and we would have to um you know add on to either one of these brand new schools being built or built. Is there room for them to be expanded without building new schools? Was there any planning in in that? >> Do you know Carl? >> Yes. Yeah, there is expansion room on both facilities that there was room designed in to add extra classrooms on. >> Okay. Can you can you get me the location of where I

025mean as far as I knew there was no >> on especially the high school there on both west and east end there's addition room. >> There's on both ends. >> Yes. >> Okay. What about the elementary >> story editions that were capable of being added on >> so that you can go up and out. Yeah. Well, on the ends. >> Oh, the ends can go out. Okay. What about the elementary? >> I'm trying to remember there the design layout it was, but it was on believe it was on the west end going out towards the playground. >> Okay. >> Extending out that way. >> Okay. And my last question, um, the competition gym floor. And the only reason I'm asking this is because I saw a right state playing, um, the Golden Grizzlies today. I

026saw a big old Golden Grizzly on the middle of the floor. What are our plans for our competition, gym, as far as flooring and embellishments? And do we have we gotten that throw in the plan or >> I don't know. I can't honestly tell you. I know what the center looks like yet. >> Phil could answer that question. >> He might have the answer to >> if you go to the interior animation link. It's in the IT'S IN THE INTERIOR. I'LL SHOW YOU. THERE IS a bulldog in the center for um line of bulldogs around the perimeter and then there's obviously no names going on it. >> The court of course. >> Excuse me. The court is not named. So, >> oh, I wouldn't expect it to be named, I guess. >> Yep. >> Okay.

027>> So, there the question was asked. Reason I say that the question was asked whether we're going to carry the name from the fieldhouse court over to the competition. That was a question. And >> what's on the fieldhouse? I don't remember. It's been a while. >> Dean White. It's Dean White. Okay. >> All right. All right. Thank you very much. That's all I have. >> Thanks, Teresa. Okay, Michelle. on to the treasures report. >> Okay. Um I ask that the board approve the minutes from the December 8th meeting to approve the cash summary from December showing revenues of 2,366,73916 and expenditures of 6 million424,57264. also to approve the cash reconciliation report for December which shows 33,863,168.13 is for excuse me for the building project out of um 58,217,42811 approve the checks written for the month

030drinks for CHS students and staff. Donation from Trul Equipment for a John Deere engine valued at $4,750 to the TriStar Egg Industrial Tech Program. That's a lot of wonderful. That is that is amazing. >> We got an awesome community. >> That is amazing. We're so fortunate. >> We are. >> And that is all I have. Does anyone have any questions? >> Okay. No questions for Michelle. Can I get a motion, please? >> I'll move to approve. >> I'll second. John Carl. Thank you both. >> Mr. Class. Hi. >> Mr. Siker. >> Yes. >> Mr. Hi. >> Mrs. Summer. >> Hi. >> Mr. Smith. >> Hi. My turn. >> You're up. >> All right. First item underneath my report, I'm asking the board underneath letter A for personnel um to accue to approve rather um the

031list of personnel who has listed on the attach. Um, as you can see, um, tonight we'll make official the welcoming of Chelsea Jumpkins, who's our CBI teacher, um, who is located here, uh, at the high school. Um, we also have subs. Um, I would like to bring the board's attention to our, um, some of our retirements. We have some folks who and and I think this will hold true for our retirees moving forward who have dedicated um the majority if not all of their careers to our district. And so we have uh Lin Ray, we have Terresa Hoy. Um and we just you know Rose Post, we appreciate all the time and effort that they've spent. They've seen a lot of changes in our landscape um in our profession. And so we we thank them

032for um all of their support and effort to make the district a better place. So I didn't know if there were any questions of any of those for the attachments. Um I'm also asking the board um for the next piece underneath there. Um, we have an executive secretary compensation plan. And what this is, it's not a no change in in uh monetary value, but it's aligning our practices with benefits with uh what we um what we have in the compensation plan. And this is specifically for a Tristar network specialist position. Um and it's something that we just uh need to make sure again that the board approves that what we've been doing we are we are able to continue doing as far as benefits but no other no monetary increase or decrease in that regard

033for that position. And so that's it for letter A personnel. >> Any questions? >> Can I get a motion to approve please? >> I'll make the motion. Julie a second. >> I'll second John. >> Thank you. >> Mr. Claus. >> Hi. >> Mr. Schliker. >> Yes. >> Mr. Huber. >> Hi. >> Mrs. Summer. >> Hi. >> And Mr. Hilson. >> Hi. >> For letter B. Other business. There is no um action for the board to take, but this is an opportunity to share a draft of the U proposed 2627 uh calendar. This is tenative. Um this calendar is um reflective of the work that our labor management committee um puts in to bring teacher perspectives to the table as well as bring administrative perspectives to the table. And so this is uh a collaborative effort.

034And so this is um what we uh will likely propose to the board um to take action on in February. Um and again this is predicated on the fact that we do not have any significant changes in construction that might shift us um unexpectedly. So um to that in May of we are proposing that we end our 712 um year sooner than our K6. Um and that's reflective of of a fall of 2027 movein. So again, not to take action on tonight, but just to share with the public and um and with the board for consideration for February. So for letter C for head start, I'm asking the board to um approve the reports, the attachments A and B as provided. >> Any questions on B or C, guys? Okay. If no questions, can I

035get a motion, please? I move. >> Mark in the second. I'll second it. >> Carl, >> Mr. Claus. >> Hi, >> Mr. Scher. >> Yes, >> Mr. Cuber. >> Hi, >> Mrs. Summer. >> I Mr. Hills. >> Hi. >> We don't have anything on the agenda for an executive session this evening. If there's nothing else, can I get a motion to adjourn? >> I'll make a motion and a second and mark. All in favor say I. I. >> All right.
