Okay, we are going to call this regular board meeting uh to order on Tuesday um here March 10th. And I think we're do the roll call. >> Mr. Bman >> here. Mr. F >> here, >> Mrs. Lindamman >> here, >> Mr. Napier >> here, >> Mrs. Winger >> here. >> And if I could um entertain a motion to adopt the agenda. >> So move. >> Second. >> Mr. F. >> Yes. >> Mr. Napier. >> Yes. >> Mr. Bowman. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Lindamman. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Winger. >> Yes. >> So pretty straightforward. We're only approving one meeting. So number four, I would entertain a motion to approve the minutes from our regular meeting um on February 10th. >> So moved. >> Second. >> Mrs. Winger? >> Yes. >> Mr. Bowman? >> Yes. >> Mr.

F? >> Yes. >> Mrs. Lindamman? >> Yes. >> Mr. Nier? >> Yes. >> I don't believe we have any public participation. So, we'll move past number five and move into number six, our special accommodations. I don't know that there's ever been a board meeting that there's not been something um under this category. So, we always want to celebrate these. Um the first one that you'll see there, this is pretty cool. Michael Chapman family donated a used eye gaze to the special education uh speech particularly um at the original value of $16,000. We have some donations um PTO from uh towards the field trip for the fourth grade to the Ohio bird sanctuary. I love the Ohio bird sanctuary and I love that we our kids get that opportunity. They come in school but this one

is probably offsite it looks like which is great. >> Never been to the Ohio bird sanctuary. Check that out. Um, day of service donation from the National FFA to district's FFA chapter, $500. Um, Mrs. Hartley, Michelle Hartley donated 250 to our drama department. We have some donations here from FEA um for boys basketball senior night um towards the dog shelter drive and donuts for the staff as well as um a donation to our elementary student council. And then I'm going to butcher this last name. Elizabeth >> Quantity >> donated some classroom supplies valued at $20. If I could have a motion to accept those special accommodations. >> So moved. >> Second. >> Mr. Bowman. >> Yes. >> Mr. Mr. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Mrs. >> Okay. And number seven is our treasures report. and then

Heather will move into number eight, the treasur's consent agenda. >> Uh revenues did exceed uh expenditures in the month of February due to property tax advancements. We received a total of two uh one for 2.2 million and another of 900,000. Um though we'll get the final true up for tax advancements in actually this month. Uh we did have several large expenditures um all the carpet for the K12 and um in the admin building and we uh made our first uh payment for the track and field to DNK Hathaway. We made our final payment for the bus garage. So that is um done. Um I was very It's really to have that one done and off the books now. uh the normal special ed and then we did we purchased a new mower which we do

every um four years. We trade in our old mower to get the new mower and then we get a credit then we get government pricing. So we bought a brand new mower for 12,000 and and this year we did get where we're able to do the striping on >> the on the ground. >> So um that made Stu very happy. >> Yeah. Um the other items that I do have for you, I gave you a big um a lot of numbers for our self- insurance fund. Uh as of right now, the self- insurance fund this, as you can see from the numbers that I gave you, we're um at the lowest balance we've had um in the last 10 years. Uh medical insurance is there for a reason. And I'm so happy that we have

such a luxury package that we do that does help our staff and the family members. Um I am expecting between an 8 and 10% increase uh on medical cost and I will get that next month. So I'll be taking um that amount to the board next month for approval. Uh we've had in all the claims you can see that we had some very large large months and um I'm just happy that it's there for the staff members that we do have that insurance for them. That is everything for February. It was was a long but short month all at the same time. It was just kind of wild. Um part of that we're already in March. Uh the other two items that I do have on my agenda, we did receive um a Knox County

Chamber of Safety Grant in the amount of and then the um I used to call it the one net and I know it's not one net anymore. Now they call it the K12 network subsidy grant. We usually get about 5,400 a year. This year we got an additional $774. So that's the reason it's on my estimated resources and appropriations. Um, so both of those grants did come through for this year and that is all that I have. >> Okay, I'll entertain a motion to approve the consent agenda for the treasure and then we'll have some questions or discussion. >> Second. >> Any questions or so? You said less. We got less of those, right? >> No, >> the seven seven >> $774 more than than last year. >> Oh, more than Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.

Thank you. >> We'll take that. Yeah, no questions about that. >> So, safety grant, what are we spending that on? Just curious. >> We actually I've already spent it. Um, >> what do we >> um supplies for down in the custodial area. Uh, we are to be using it for well, we did replace some of the lights that could be used to expense. So, a portion of it went for that and then a portion to upgrade and maintain um ladies restrooms. >> Yeah. >> Any other questions, discussion? >> Ready for roll? >> Mr. P. >> Yes. >> Mr. Nier. >> Yes. >> Mr. Bowman. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Lenderman. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Winger. >> Yes. Thank you. >> All right. Number nine and number 10 are superintendent report and then into Mr. Chapman's consent

agenda. >> Good evening everyone. Welcome guests. Appreciate you being here for March board meeting. Uh just have a couple items here. Our administrators, our principles, they are down at the building though. Um we have our middle school and high school choir concerts this evening. So they will not be here. However, though I did put their most recent uh family newsletter in front of you there for your review as well. So, a lot of information there. Also that you will have in front of you is the draft of the March uh Freddy scope. Um we're hoping to get that to final print uh later this week and then mailboxes next week. Um if you do just take a if you have time, take a moment to peruse that. If you see anything there that is out

of place or you have questions about, please let me know before that goes to A lot of information in this one. A lot more words than pictures. So, but it's still hopefully. >> Welcome class of 2039. >> Don't let that shock you there. >> I think so. >> That is that's a hard one there. So, I see that. But, no, good information there. As far as some other updates there, I want to just spend a little bit of time updating you on the uh field and the track. As far as the resurfacing project, the curb right now, the in interior curb, which would also the drainage piece of that is complete. Uh, if you have time here, especially with this nice weather, just go down and take a look at it. But that's installed, which

then allowed for them to remove the plates um across the track. They removed those yesterday. So, um, as you know, our our spring practice has already started out there. Um, but it's they have now we'll have access to the whole track. Um, and also fences down. They've taken that out. Um, and I have a meeting on Monday with DNK uh, Hathaway Construction regarding the placement of the irrigation. So, the tile's already in. A lot of the drainage is, but we have a meeting Monday morning just to review that and get that irrigation in. Um, and then as far as uh you have item E on the agenda here, some change orders, uh, which would we want to put those to the board here, but you'll see that the goalposts have been taken down. Uh, so

part of those change orders would include replacing those goalposts. Uh, flagpole as well. Um and then also um paving the Dzones. Um they were scheduled to be top soiled um and natural grass, but due to looking at that and to clean it all up up there. Once we um put the first coat of asphalt on the track, they will also asphalt the Dzones be the north and the sorry be the east and the west ends of of the field there. Um, as far as some with the other change orders that are included in there would be the pull vault. We all know where the current pull vault pit is. That'll be moved to the east. Really, it'll replace the long jump pit. It'll be now located there. Um, the existing when we rip that up,

uh, we'll just have grass seed back there. But really that's for spectators so they can see it better because it's hidden behind those visitor bleachers. So now it will be moved. We will move the long jump pit and a new box down to the west end in the D zone down by the flag pole scoreboard down there. So those are some of the changes there that we be making um with that. Uh as far as on time and on schedule get that get you know it's soggy right now obviously but if we can get the irrigation in which is right now that's how they have had it planned. uh they will not do anything with the D zone especially on this east end because that's where the high current high jump pad is and we

are planning on that that that won't occur until at the end of the season uh towards the end of May there. So um that's really where we are with that whole project. Um battling weather as you you know would expect but otherwise uh it's it's where it should be as far as schedules is concerned. So Any questions with that? >> Just just for clarification on those change a lot of that stuff couldn't be done in place. department field that Yes. Thank you, Paul, for that. Um, what we'd like to do is then put a reconstruct one of those field posts on the east end of the practice field that we're utilizing as well down there. So, but yeah, it's not me. We again, our track coaches, um, athletic director, Mr. D, Mr. There's been a

lot of hand there's been a lot of hands in this and and it takes you want a lot of counsel wise counsel in making these decisions and so uh we continue to work through those and as things come up talk through them but just really really appreciate everybody's uh participation in this and willingness to play a part so that's huge when you have that >> it's been good to see I mean anytime the weather is good like this morning when I dropped Lee off at Somebody was I could only tell that they were sitting in the I shouldn't know skid seat or whatever it was. Um because they had a bright colored shirt on, but it's like you can tell like I mean they've really put us on the priority list to get >> which

is good. >> Yeah. Which is great. Anytime and anytime they can be working that are working. >> This is what we expect though, right? >> True. >> Nothing wrong with that. >> Um yeah, I just wanted to give you an update on that one. And then of course item F is a motion to approve the triad architects um as far as a criteria architect for this fieldhouse and stadium renovations which be ongoing conversations as we go. So but thank you. I'll move into superintendent's consent agenda if you will. And we have the first what four items are resignations or retirements uh from Melissa Midcap Spanish teacher, Marshia Shock, elementary cook, Rachel Erit as an intervention specialist, and Robin Mcclelay as elementary teacher. As you can see there, Melissa and Marca and Robin, there's quite a

few years of experience right there walking out the door. So, congratulations to them. that retirement and for their service to Fredericktown schools and our students over the years. We also item E is the one I mentioned the change order amounts of 61,000 and 37,000 with DK Hathaway. Also item F is the bid of 30,485 for Triad Architects as the criteria architect. Item G several policies there. Thank you to Mr. Napier and Mr. default for policy review. This would be a first reading of those policies. Item H would be then employment for a transfer there as as far as Mrs. Darth has requested to go to elementary local music but that position vacated by Mrs. Overhaul uh which the board acted on last month. also um some other employment there recent contract and then also um

again the classroom and field trip uh chaperone volunteers for the 2526 school year. Quite a list there. And item K would be the Tri County Educational Service Center. Uh that's for annual approval of our Medicaid school program coordination for the next year already 2026 also approval of uh vol or I'm sorry supplemental contracts as you see presented there and wow okay and no additional items to vote on that includes the superintendent consent agenda entertain a motion to approve the superintendent's consent agenda. >> So move. >> Second. >> Any other discussion, questions? >> So we're rescending supplemental for Tom. Are we replacing that? >> We we oppose that. We have um we already have somebody that we've talked to that to get out there. Um, that is something we we are hoping to have them out

there today. I don't think that happened. I don't know for sure, but I we got to post it here and then as soon as I get that confirmed, let you guys know. >> Okay. Yeah, that's a critical position. >> Yeah, >> we got to have that especially spring >> right there. >> And then with Mrs. Same kind of I guess thing is with Mrs. Durk moving down that obviously opens up high school. >> So that's posted then posted internal. Are we out are we externally? >> We are now. We're able to post it all external as well as Spanish as well. So those two will be posted external today. >> Okay. Sorry, I'm making notes here. Anything else? Anybody? Okay, I think we're ready for roll. >> Okay, Mrs. Winger. >> Yes. Mr. Bman, >>

yes. >> Mult. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Lindamman, yes. >> Mr. Napier, >> yes. I'm telling you, pretty basic agenda tonight. All right, we're going to move into our um what are they called? Something reports. You see that? I got my paper folded. So, I got >> committee committee committee reports. Okay. Um I'll kick us off with a couple. So, I will admit that I skipped the career center board meeting. I decided that girls basketball senior night was where I wanted to be. So, um I did not attend, but I I did just want and we shared it on our social media. Um but we have two Freddy's, Payton Blakesley and Elizabeth Sports and Trooper that are heading to Nashville, Tennessee in May. Um they have qualified for the Business Professionals of America, which is pretty

cool. um several of us along here have judged that at one point or another and that's a great accomplishment. I'm super proud that they're both have that opportunity to do that. So there was nine I think total from the career center and um two Fridays. So just wanted to make mention I'll be attending um no girls basketball. I can't get out of the career center meeting this this month. So I'll be attending that this Thursday evening. Um, as far as um, FCDF, Frederick Town Community Development Foundation, um, we had our annual dinner. Um, Thursday, February 26th, it was well attended. Mr. Chapman was there. It went well. We're pretty excited about what that looked like. Um, Jim Fox, there was 12 founding members of of FCDF back in 1980 and two of them are still

living and one happens to still be residing here in Frederick Town. That's um, Andy Fox's dad. And so he shared a couple opening remarks and um that's pretty that was pretty cool. So we had that. Um we're going to be moving into FCDF is going to be moving into spring with a banner change out. Start to see not until like May, but start to see some flowers and hanging baskets and planters full of flowers and all of that. So hopefully kind of the streetscape coming alive. We're excited about all of that. Today's like today makes you want to think it's May, but we're not going to rush that. Um, our deadline for advertising in the 43019 magazine's coming up and we're making a little bit of a shift um particularly with um the school. Our

Freddy Flash um class, journalism class at the high school. It's an online publication. I would highly recommend jumping on there. It's pretty fun. They do a little bit of podcast and they do some articles. um they're going to actually do a a hard copy article and I've um asked Monica and Gary for two pages so we can kind of get get them in there for the May edition. So I'm looking forward to them helping to contribute. We need some, you know, exciting, relevant, engaging um articles and so who better than our students to help with that. So I met with the class um and Mrs. Graham and that was a lot of fun. So it's good. They're excited about it. At least I'm telling myself that they're excited about it. But um >> they are.

So um Mrs. Grim's telling them that they're excited about it, too. It's great. Yeah. Um today I actually attended um I'm serving in the president role right now for FCDF. And so I got to meet with the president of the Danville organization and the Centerberg organization down at ADF. and we're just kind of brainstorming some ways um that we can kind of collaborate and do some things together um throughout there. Maybe having a a marketing class for all of our businesses that are members of all three organizations and kind of collaborating in that way. So, good things happening with FCDF. We have a meeting this coming Thursday as well. And I think that's all I have for this section, Mr. Bowman. >> All right. Um, we had a workdev meeting on February 25th. Um, I

got a couple highlights here. Um, I shared about it, I think the last meeting or the one before, but the, uh, Founders Food Hall project, uh, that will be opening in April. So, there's going to be seven kitchens, there's a bar, and then there's, um, two lanes of duck pin bowling. So, >> pretty cool setup there. Um Sam shared that it's going to be open Tuesday through Sunday uh 11:30 to 7:30 with later hours on the weekends. Um so that's their plan at this point. Uh the common seating area can seat about 160. So that was pretty cool. Um Mr. Shoemaker has information about Knox aspect. Um they're planning on running that again um in April. So that'll be up and rolling. uh he may have students that have already signed up for that. Um

I shared at the last meeting about uh the Knox Educator Manufacturing Boot Camp. So we were told that the program was awarded uh $10,000 from the Knox County Foundation. Um and that will be running in June. So there shouldn't be a cost um for educators for that. And Mr. Shoemaker will have more information on that um as we get as we get closer. That'll be good. Um, and then the last thing, Knox County Behavioral Healthc Care Partners. I will share a PowerPoint um with you guys so you have it. Um, but uh they they wanted to highlight some of their services. So, they do have an urgent care uh near the Blackjack facility and a mobile care now clinic um as well. So, um, those were highlighted and there's some other, um, information in the

PowerPoint that I'll send out so you have it. So, our next meeting is coming up in about two weeks, March 25th. So, that's all I've got. >> Awesome. >> Yep. >> That report is going to be awesome. >> Yeah, we've met in there a couple times. It's I think it's going to be I mean, it's much needed. I think it's going to be a hop in place. >> Yeah. >> So, and they're going to have a variety I don't off the top of my head, I can't break it down off the top of my head, but they're going to have a variety of food um in there. So, good for Knox County. >> Yeah, it's great. >> Yep. >> That's in the old Mount Vernon News building. You might have already said that. Like the

>> Yeah, I I didn't say that in this meeting. I the last one, but yeah, is in the old >> Mount Vernon news building. Yeah. >> Yep. >> duck pin bowling. Two lanes. >> That's right. Yeah, it's pretty cool. >> Okay. Well, this this month you guys have some share out maybe policy. >> Yeah. So, >> um yeah, we met that the um there was a lot um regarding job related expenses. You can see that there. um kind of somebody somewhere must have done something for us to get this amount of policy that hits administration staff. The big one was the AI uh I thought for me uh the AI policy we left it for engineering and basically we made it so the person anybody can basically anybody can that's our and didn't hamstring ourselves

or anything like that to adhere to. So that was uh a little eye opening um just what what is recommended by OSDA or I'm sorry and what we accept. So it it was it was a good meeting. Um one of the lighter policy for sure. >> Awesome. >> All right. And oh, legislative. I almost skipped you again. Sorry. On purpose. >> Yeah. Um All right. So, I do have some stuff this month. Um because the general assembly is back in session. Um and they have been working. Um so just a couple things that have been passed that were passed in the house um the last week. Um so I'll just hit all these quick uh because they still have to go through the Senate. Um House Bill 25. Um, this this is actually one that

was introduced like way back at the beginning of 25. Um, but didn't really receive much action at all really until this year. It's called the Fostering School Success Act. Um, it it's a bill that aims to improve educational support for students in foster care. Um, so there would be some requirements for the district if this would pass, including uh designating a local foster care education liaison and then um each building would appoint a staff member as the foster family navigator um and they would serve as a primary point of contact uh for any students in foster care and their families. Um and then of course uh the department of education and workforce would have to supply training for those people. Uh, House Bill 437, also passed by the House, called the Healthy Cardiac Monitoring Act.

It basically just expands Lindsay's law provisions. Um, so that one's also headed to the Senate. And then House Bill 500 passed by the House. Um, those are two more recent bills. Um, this one permits a school district that offers a junior RORTC program to designate that program as um, CTE program and get uh, funding for that. So, um, then there's a few that haven't um haven't had any voting recently, but I still just wanted to bring them up because they're they're talking about them um, and having hearings. Uh, Senate Bill 19. Um, this is one that I've talked about recently was in introduced back in November. It has already been passed by the House. Um, but now it's um the uh or no passed by the Senate. So now the House is having hearings. Um

this is the one that um kind of focuses on math improvement. So there's some some different pieces to that including uh providing evidence-based academic intervention services free of cost to students that demonstrate need there. Um, and then review like the Department of Education would be reviewing core math curricula. And then, uh, it also would require that districts automatically enroll students, um, into eighth grade algebra if they demonstrate accomplish or advanced skill on seventh grade math assessment. Um, House Bill 455. This is a pretty lengthy bill. Um, back in September. It's also been passed by the House last year, but again, it's um it's receiving quite a bit of activity currently in the Senate. Um it was really hard to try to summarize this one um because it has a lot of little different pieces to

it. It revises or eliminates a series of programs and provisions um related to the DEW and public charter public and chartered non-public schools. It revises performance measures used to calculate performance ratings for the state report card um and the college career workforce military readiness, graduation and early literacy components. and then it eliminates some obsolete provisions in the regarding the state report card. Um, still lots of bills out there right now that mention property tax um measures uh even with all of the recent reform measures that were passed at the end of last year. Um I think probably the most important one to mention right now is the House Joint Resolution 7. Um this was introduced uh in February um by Mark Hiner and I think this is the one that you heard about. Yeah. Is

that right? Yes. Um, so it's a it's a proposed constitutional amendment that would exempt owner occupied primary residences from property taxes uh starting in 27. Um, so uh basically it's kind of like I guess the light version of property tax abolishment kind of because it it would not exempt um nonowner occupied residences or commercial agricultural or public utility properties. But of course then any owner occupied um properties would be exempt from property tax. Uh that has to be the way these house resolutions work. They have to be approved by three5ths of the members in both chambers. Um if that would happen it would go to the it would be submitted to the Ohio Secretary of State. Um it would go on the November ballot. >> Um it's about a10 billion. >> It's huge. >> That

happens. It's 10 billion. This is major major major tax reform. >> Um yeah. So anyway, that one is currently to a house committee uh where lawmakers will have hearings um and review the fiscal impact of that. Um, and like I said, it's kind of being pitched as like a narrower like alternative to property tax. So, something to watch for sure. >> Anyway, >> thank you for all that. >> Yeah. And I don't know if you did you have anything to add from what you heard this week or last week, I guess it was. Yeah, that and that really I ended up just kind of popping in a Axe Ohio tax property. Axe Ohio tax the founders. Um they were presenting in Apple Valley and so I thought, well, I'll just pop in there and see

what's shaken and um what that looks like. And um Rep. Heiner was there. He did not end up he was I thought he would share his I mean it was out there um he was there and had kind of you know I don't say promoted but had you know people attending it was really interesting to to listen to um just trying to kind of take it in and digest it and right now there isn't seem to be a plan for what to do and they would tell you this there's not really a plan for what to do to replace property tax. Um, I think schools are getting kind of the the brunt of that just because that's, you know, a big primary source of our funding. Not that we chose that, but that's just the

way that the state has always funded us. And so, um, there seems to be a bit of, you know, just really scrutiny and looking under the hood and then working, you know, just there's a lot of concern there. So, um, yeah, we'll see where this I think everybody, it seems like, especially we're kind of in a, you know, we've got people that are campaigning and so there's just a lot of conversation and people throwing bills at stuff and joint resolutions at stuff. And so, I haven't watched yet, but today was the governor's state of the state will be his last. That was at noon today. Um, they are definitely busy down at the state house. There's hours worth of legislation if recorded on the Ohio channel if you so choose to watch that versus something

else. It's very interesting. Um but just yeah keep our eye on it and do the best we can and go from there. >> Sorry have to all that too. >> That's good information. Thank you. >> Yeah. Well, Don and I we haven't had finance because we're not on track to do that right now. So, we're I mean we're always in finance mode. >> Finance board. Legislative boards have a finance committee. >> Very true. Very very true. >> Any other >> actually I'm going to not comment on legislators to support me. It would be required for change. I know >> I'm gonna take him with me next time though. >> Sure. >> I think it's just like you said, it's a wait and see. Yep. >> Just hope that Sad has for sure. >> Um, any

other shout outs? Um, I'll just say that the district was nominated and then made it to a finalist for um I know we've been talking a lot about the engineering manufacturing lab, but um made it to the like I said the finalist stage and so a few of us got to attend the chamber dinner and we were in a really tough category with work dev actually which those kind of actually kind of tie together and the um developmental board of DD and They actually won the award which you know they touch a lot of folks too but it was the award they have a bunch of like business awards and one of them this one was you know impact on the future. So that was pretty cool. I you know I don't think you see

school systems typically maybe getting to that stage of the game for the chamber awards. So that was really kind of cool to be there and be a part of that. Um, I promise I don't just go on the property tax circuit, but I did attend a panel discussion that the Knox County Foundation, I've talked about it in this meeting before, Jen Williams from Williams Nonprofit Consulting, um, is contracted with the foundation and she does a lot of work on advocacy and legislation and um, so I attended a a panel discussion and I was really through FCDF. Um, and it was kind of neat. Bill Cedar was there. They had like all the buckets covered. So, Bill Cedar was there from Mount Vernon Schools talking about education. Um, Zach Green helped me with some of these

if I mess them up on who's who, but Zach Green from Knox Public Health was there. Um, Steve Oster from board of DD. I don't remember Kay's last name, but she's mental health and addiction. Um, and then Jason Booth, who's administrator for the commissioner. So, it was just a panel. that, you know, Jen moderated it and just kind of asked questions. And I think that that's, you know, again, not it isn't always just education that's affected by that. And so looking at it from a county perspective and if something was to happen with property tax, how that would affect us as a county, I know here in Frederick County, we're really close to a kind of a snapshot that would show, you know, I know we see it all on our on our tax, you

know, bills, but um kind of just show what that would do to Frederick Town. So, um that it was a great panel discussion and was good to hear some good information. So was able to attend attend that. nothing really earthshattering that came out of it except because we've all been following it so closely. But >> I think that's >> Yeah, I just give I was going to say the the ribbon cutting ceremony on the 27th was extremely well done. I know there's a lot of work put into that. So kudos to everyone for their work >> on that ceremony because >> it's a great turnout um >> from everybody um >> you know so >> we are super blessed with support of our community. >> Yeah. >> Yep. >> Yeah. That's fantastic. >> All right.

Well, Mr. Cafudo, >> I have three more reports to get. So, I'm glad there's plenty of time. Just kidding. Um, I'll start out with student services and um go there. This is I want to make sure just give for an update on kind of where we are a little numbers numbers. Okay. Nothing concrete just you know 40,000 foot view as we look at finishing up this year and really services we're already looking at next year. Okay. Um I've shared before we have our transition meetings for our preschool to school age students. That's with mass high education service. So most of those kids are students uh with disabilities on IEPs. We have specifically nine students who are receiving services on IEPs but four who are at risk. That number was three before. That's up to four.

So um that's a little bit significant because we had six last year. Okay. Um we're looking at staffing for the next school year regarding educational aids. Intent letters come out already for the ESC staff only and we've already got two that are not coming back. Two folks that have done a really good job for us and they're both going on to do their student teaching and experiences somewhere else. So that's that's good for them. Um the uh we did have one of the we have 2.6 2.3 2.5 reg registered behavior therapists in the district two at the elementary and one at the middle school high school level. One of them resigned. I think I shared that out before may or may not have. And we're still trying to look at seeing how to replace that

person. She resigned on the 6th of March. Those are um as far as our MTSS system, our multi-ter system, support system, intervention system in all the buildings in the district. At the elementary, we've referred 14 kids for evaluations. Uh we've not completed all the evaluations on those kids yet, but so far all of those kids are have ended up qualifying for services. Um Hannah does a really great job MTS system. She and I both really love that system. Um, so she's doing a real good job. We're getting ready to transition uh for next school year. We're already thinking about next school year, not for just student services, but from the building perspective, the elementary building. Um, so we'll have 14 kids that will be um looked at very hard right at the beginning of the

year with interventions put in place right at the beginning of the school year. Um, so see where I am here. Um, and we have three students at the middle school through that MCSS system that we're going to be referring for additional supports as well. Now, I say that with you just to keep everybody in the loop, but we also have kids coming all the time in and out of the district. We also have kids that get re-evaluated on a threeear cycle. And many times those students then get dismissed from services as well. Um we do have four students in the district that I'm looking at additional supports in a more restrictive setting. two we've recently met on at the elementary school who require additional supports um that we have to look elsewhere for and one

at the middle school and one at the high school that we're currently working on as well. So, it's good that we have a lot of needs that we can work through my department to help support kids. Uh but kind of just to paint a little bit of a picture that we do have a lot of needs in the kids with our kids. Um the last piece that I wanted to share districtwide, um yes, we've had some meetings at the elementary school for some of the medical needs with kids. Um but we have medical needs K12. Um more than I've seen ever, okay, in a variety of things. I couldn't pinpoint one particular thing, but there's plenty of kids that have action plans to help support them through um student services, through the nurse through our

nurse um from that perspective. So, um we're constantly looking at those things to help support kids. That is it a little bit mostly for um student services. A lot of times these things do cross over into the building pieces. as you can see as I'm talking some of these things are are are building pieces also. Um but specific to the building at the elementary from working with with Hannah Taylor at that level um we just finished up the Cherova testing today that was for our fourth and our second graders. Um we're gearing up for OST testing and uh working with teachers to make sure we have all of our accommodations set up for um our kids in April for that. Um as far as kids coming into kindergarten, we currently are a little bit on

the low side for our kindergarten screening dates. Uh and we're at 60 60 as of today. includes the numbers that um I shared with you for preschool transitions. Um that was the 22nd and 23rd that will be doing their screens. Um I do want to say also congratulations to all the folks that are retiring. I think I don't want to quote myself on this that I think that I hired Robin when she came back here >> and she has been Robin Mlay just such an awesome teacher. Academics u socially creates boundaries for kids really knew how to take care of kids on such multiple levels but all those teachers congratulate them and all of our other staff but um Robin those are some big shoes to fill that um I also remind folks the kit

new hotes Thursday and Friday I'll be going up there to help support them on that. Um, and I know we had some great things happening in the building that Mr. Snider will probably be sharing out here in a little bit as well. Anybody have any questions for the building or for the student services for me? So I I saw I actually saw on social media already looking for aids and so does the ESC also they have a Facebook page >> they'll share them what what typically will happen is I'll ask them to post it and then I post it on our site as well. >> And are all those pay rates the same across all of our county schools? >> No. I can get those figures for you if you would like for your next

board. I would love to see or like what we pay versus Mount Vernon and Bando and all that. I'm sure you guys all have that. You've probably seen it before, but >> I'll be happy to share. >> It' be awesome. I'm sure they're paid fairly. Their rates probably great. I'm just kidding. Sorry. >> Anybody else questions? >> That number does that include any that will include include everybody and again u we'll probably I talk with Britney and Hannah both that really want to look at those open enroll numbers um there was one already that was in didn't even need to bother Mr. chat about they were coming from a district from a far away land that I won't mention and they wanted to entrance. So that's a hard number. So um but yes, we're looking

at all this and we usually have a very large amount. This is lower than what we typically have at this point of the year. Very true. >> What's our open enrollment deadline? June >> April 1 to May 15th. >> Oh, it's a it's okay. April one. You knew that right off the top of your head. Okay. >> Any other questions for me? >> Thanks. >> Yeah. >> All right. I know one lovely teacher over there. I love it. Um so we started with the district night and it was well attended. Lots of fun put on by Amber Perry and D and many teams got prizes and once again Mr. Wolf's team came in first place. You went first. >> Anyway, so anyway, it was a good time. >> Yes. Uh, and then last week we

just finished up across America with our theme of game one. Um Matt kicked us off by dressing as a referee school year and we had daily dressings. Um one was dressed as your all featured around board games. So we had the game of life as your career. Guess who we dressed as um favorite character. So we had a lot of participation for those two days of course with the was another successful one definitely. And then we also tried to incorporate something a little different this year, encouraging a daily reading skill challenge for teachers to focus on a particular reading skill and then do an activity around that. And if the students um the game then they were given a prize or candy to go along with that. Um at the end of the week everybody

got a free book and a book to choose that they wanted and we also incorporated guest readers once again students and my class had the opportunity to listen to both of them. We had oneonone stay at home on Thursday and I will let you know my students were disappointed that on Friday we did not have a guest speaker. They were like do we have one coming today? So anyway um and I I really enjoyed listening to the conversation that we had with the students. It was very engaging and they enjoyed it. Um and then we also had dinner night on Tuesday and we had over 169 people It was packed and put down tables and chairs student council once again sessions for us and then proceeds FBA will make another donation to the student and

upcoming events tomorrow we're having a presentation for our members by compensation to talk about how to plan for your retirement and we will having a spring bouquet event next week, next Wednesday. >> Well, the kids are so well behaved. I mean, at least group I was I had first, second, fourth. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Back to All right. So item number 12 is for us to um I need a motion for us to enter executive session. Um motion disc session is to discuss personnel and matters to be kept confidential by federal law or state statutes and there is no action to follow second >> yes Yes. >> Yes.
