All right, we'll go ahead and call the meeting to order. Before we stand for the pledge, um like we do every board meeting, we have a student come in to lead the pledge for us tonight. We have Adley Mackey. She's a third grade student at Lutz Elementary. Um so, thank you for coming in. and you can step right up here. And if we could all stand for the pledge of allegiance, please. >> I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. All right, roll call, please. >> Mrs. Bloom, >> here. >> Miss Layman, >> here. >> Miss Lewis, >> here. >> Mr. Nally, >> here. >> Mr. Price, >> here. >> I get

a motion to approve our minutes from our regular meeting held on March 9th, 2026. Please. >> So move. >> Second. >> Motion by Miss Lewis, second by Mr. Nally. Any discussion? Roll call, please. Miss Lewis, >> yes. Mr. Nally, >> yes. >> Mrs. Bloom, yes. Miss Layman, >> yes. >> Mr. Price, >> yes. Motion's approved. >> Moving on to our legislative report. Don, >> um, yes. I' I've got about five points I wanted to cover this evening and uh try to move it along here. Uh the first part before I get into the specific ones, I just want to talk about right now what we're experiencing is from our state level with the legislators. What what I'm seeing is they're putting a lot of proposals together that are affecting us in the sense of additional

work. And you know, if work provides a good product, that's one thing. But I think what we're experiencing right now, um, and I and I'll give you an example. Um well, it it kind of takes away the the right that we have to vote what we want uh to be in place. Uh for example, right now uh in the House uh Ways and Means Committee, um our representative Click uh Mr. click uh has is one of the co-sponsors of HB420 and what that does uh is tries to eliminate uh continuing levies by 2030. My concern there is what we're experiencing is the legislature because of what they're doing with funding, it's causing not not us right now, but many districts throughout the state to go back to their voters for additional funding. And one of

the only two sources is property taxes. And you know, we have property and we have income taxes. My concern is when if we take away if the legislature takes away that opportunity for us and then we as voters uh don't have that, what's going to happen is we're going to have to go back to the voters more often. If our voters say 10 years is fine or continuing is fine, that should be enough. we're, you know, looking at taking away that right and that that has me very concerned. Uh so, uh the other thing is when we talk about a continuing levy, it's one amount that pretty much that amount stays the same and static throughout the years. It's not that it's continuing to uh grow or increase as the years go on. So I

am concerned about that particular um item. Also, um maybe you guys uh athletes here may not want to hear this, but there is a still a push on the uh NIL um and that's in a fifth reading to uh not allow um name uh and likeness to be in place for middle and high school students. and that's happening at uh the state level. Uh number three, the house technology and innovation which is government expenditure database. Um, one of my concerns there and and and it's going through the process right now, but uh, one of the my concerns there is basically if that data does not again produce a product, all we're doing is creating additional workloads for our treasurer and that department. And if we have to continue to get those types of um uh

laws put into place, what does that mean? That means we have to have uh more space. We have to have more people to do the work. So, you know, those types of requirements uh again concern me. Um the other the other one, the House Judiciary, uh there's House Bill 203, which is uh to increase fines for vehicular assault and homicides. Uh and I think when we we had talked uh several meetings back about people who are not paying attention to buses, you know, that I look at that and they, you know, and if they scoot around a bus that should be stopped and a kid's trying to cross the street, you know, um they're putting something in place to get people to think a little bit more so that those types of uh accidents do

not happen. Uh and then my fifth and final is uh with the vouchers. Um I think just plain and simple the way I look at it, if somebody approaches me and says uh uh questions, why is why are the vouchers a big thing? I I boil it down to something real simple beyond the money. It's in our constitution. We've talked about that before. It's in our state constitution and providing funding to private uh private entities uh religious schools goes beyond what our constitution states. If that is the intention, then Columbus or somebody needs to push for an an amendment to our constitution to say, "Let's do that." Uh, and like I've shared before throughout the country, there's been several times when that particular issue has come up and and it's resoundingly where it's been voted

that the money should be for public education, not for private or other entities. So plain and simple, vouchers go beyond our constitution. And that is, I think, a plain and simple way to respond. People may not totally agree, but um just wanted to share that. And unless anybody had anything to add, that's all I had about my report. >> Thanks, sir. No walk-on items tonight? >> No, sir. >> Uh, moving on to the community portion. Um, if anyone would like to address the board about anything, they can uh step up to the podium, state your name and address for the board. >> Everybody's here for good later on in the agenda. So, we'll keep moving. >> Yep. We'll move on to the superintendent report. >> Thank you. Good evening, Mr. Price, board members, u, Miss

Parkhurst. Um, this evening I would have asked Mr. Chris Ward to join us. Um, Mr. Ward is the principal at Atinson Elementary. And this being our one of our work sessions, he is going to highlight and give a look for you as well as our community into some of the daily workings at Atinson Elementary. And he will pull that in a little bit of how that resembles our strategic plan. Um, so just a nice little opportunity for you to get a a feel for Atinson Elementary. So, Mr. Ward, thank you for joining us this evening. >> Go ahead. >> Good evening board members and uh Treasurer Parker and Superintendent Hurt. I appreciate the time here um tonight and would like to just highlight uh something that came about back in January. You know, and part

of our building plan is that you know set alone or let alone with the academic piece of our building plans is always trying to motivate students to increase those academics. Um and we all know that you know as far as academics goes that there's also students that are dealing with who knows you know at home. Um so a piece of that you know along with our climate committee and our PBIS um incentives that we have is this actually came about when I was sitting in a in a room uh doing an evaluation with a teacher >> and I was sitting in the back of the room and a student answered a question correctly and I saw another student you know give that student uh an accolade you know and and gave them a high five

and I just kind of jotted a note to myself thought I wanted to recognize that student later for doing that. And then the more I kept thinking about it, I wondered like why are we not doing this more? You know, why are students not motivating each other? Why are we not being more encouraging? Um I think that we say a lot of things and we want students to do that, but I think there's a the difference between saying it and modeling it. So that became uh a topic of discussion at the next PBIS meeting with our with our committee and how could we get students to take more of an initiative with their peers. So with that being said, what we did was we came up with some challenge expectations that we presented to the

students. Um and the incentive was is that they would each month we would offer some type of reward for the students, but there's some qualifications for that. Um that there's no office referrals or detentions for that. No more than two absences or two tardies and they must be excused absences. They must not be failing in any subject area. They must be encouraging, kind, and not caught putting down others. Must not be in a continuous trouble during club meetings. So we also included our clubs that you know that we hold them to a higher expectation you know that they're in a leadership role. So make a difference club, men with manners, I mean Ram TV, doesn't matter what it is. Um they are part of this um as well. Um they also must not uh receive

more than five reminders to stop talking within a month which can be a challenge obviously for some kids. So, and also the some of the teachers have some of their own directives that we allowed them a little bit of freedom to to add to that and then they keep track of it through through a spreadsheet. So, with that being said, what we were trying to do was um I went around to each class along with the assistant principal and we kind of kicked this off. We were trying to highlight students that we want you to be kind of our cheerleaders within the classroom. Um, after kicking this off in just a couple days, we actually witnessed, you know, in our one of our pods, one of our studios, the students were all clapping and we

happened to stop in and walk in and it was for a student who actually had been struggling for probably weeks um, one um, with language because he came from a different country and he is very very fluent now. And they were recognizing this student because he had some behavior issues to start with, but some of that was because of a language barrier. Um, which would make sense. And when we walked by, we saw the student standing up in the studio and the teachers were already modeling that and all the kids were clapping for him and cheering him on. So, kind of rallying it around him. This was in first grade. So, that was one of the things that we first experienced. And then um just recently I wanted to see if I could catch someone,

you know, in this. This was our first reward. You know, we had a a movie reward. We had about 215 students that earned that the first time. So next month it's it's an ice cream party. Um so we are pushing this even more. Um we've already had a whole chunk of students that could tell they were upset that they didn't earn this. might have been from a couple small little things, but um they've been reminded what it takes to to get them there. Um this student in particular, the one girl in the the pink there was just a recent one. So last week, knowing that I had to come to this to present to you guys, I kind of walked in and out of the classrooms and sat at the back waiting to see if

I could find somebody exhibiting this positivity. And sure enough, this girl Brin in in pink there, she a student in front of her um answered a question correctly. The student the teacher had them all on the floor and um he's a student that's actually not even in the classroom very often. He goes out and has, you know, several different teachers, but he answered the question correctly and she leaned over and she actually went to give him a high five and he actually didn't even see her. So then she tapped him on the shoulder and then gave him a fist bump. And I just I told the teacher afterwards, I said, "That's exactly what I was looking for." I said, "We're trying to get that to happen even more." Um, and it's starting to spread throughout

the building. Not foolproof. I would say K to three doing amazing. Four and five a little bit more of a struggle that some of them think they're a little too cool for some of that, you know, to >> recognize their peers, but we're working on that. But, uh, in addition to that, I actually brought her down to the office, too. I put her on our cafeteria screen, you know, made a big deal about it and gave her a couple big prizes from our prize box. But, um, we're looking forward to, you know, pushing this, you know, and I think it it reduces office referrals. It reduces, you know, the need for, you know, a a bullying discussion or anything like that. And I and we're hoping that this can becomes contagious, you know, with our

students. So, that's the Marcher word is the ice cream. And um like I said, we're looking forward to it. It's been very very um I don't want to use the word positive because that's what it is, but it's um we've been able to highlight something almost every single day and staff are coming down as well telling us that this kid who normally doesn't recognize others or has been kind of um the student that's a little bit hardened, I would say, is becoming more of a leader. So >> great. Any questions on any of that? >> When's ice cream? >> It's the ice cream. Um, for be for the month of March. So, that would be April 7th, I believe. So, >> I I think it's a great idea and it, you know, it's uh being

creative and using, you know, the students to support each other. And that's a big thing, you know, just as they grow up and even as adults, you know, I I remember before the meeting giving uh Sarah a pat on the back because last meeting she ran, she did a great job and you know, and I think, you know, if we continue that, you know, it it it adds up. >> Thanks, Mr. Dy. Um, what has the feedback from the the students been? Like, do they express anything about feeling better about their school day or safer in their environment? >> We we're going to do a survey in about 3 weeks. Um, we haven't other than that, we've had actually had a lot of kids too coming up because, you know, they know there's a reward

too there. You have the younger ones that are coming up and telling you that they did something special because they want to be recognized. Um, but I think it's it's a good incentive for them. Um, but we're waiting to see if we get some feedback. So, we haven't got the survey. We haven't done that yet, but we want to make sure we're getting some information from them to see if it's being effective, I guess. >> And there's a trickle or another additional piece of that on the playground, too. We have a little peer mediation thing we started from this, too, where if they have a conflict, they actually have to go through a set of questions. they stand across from each other um and try to resolve that issue themselves as well too, which is

part of this challenge. >> Very good. >> Nice. Nice. >> Mr. Ward, I would also just encourage you if you have fourth and fifth graders that are just, you know, too cool for school, um we have some amazing high school student athletes that would be awesome role models and come to visit. >> Many of them are present right now. Um and and just to be able, you know, sometimes if it's if they see the high school kid >> providing those acclimates and helping out each other and supporting each other, um it all of a sudden looks really cool. >> Yeah. >> So that might be another >> I know Mr. Matt has been trying to do some of that too and it's very >> Yeah. >> So just a thought. >> All right. >> Well,

thank you. >> Thanks, Chris. >> Thank you. >> All right. Um if you're okay, Mr. Price, I'll continue. >> Yep. We'll move on to recommendations. >> Thank you. Um item number one this evening I have two donations um for you this evening. One to Atinson Learning Center for Mr. Ward to utilize in the building and the other a very generous uh donation from the Fremont Area Foundation um that is providing us a donation to the district to assist us with some um reworking um at our football stadium. We will be redoing some painting, some lighting and some flooring um throughout those locker rooms and those meeting rooms and that area and our Fremont area foundation that supports the entire community in a wonderful fashion is on our agenda this evening. >> Again, a motion to

approve item one, please. >> So move. >> Motion by Mrs. Bloom. Could I have a second? >> Second by uh Miss Layman. Reading something in a second. Any discussion? >> What What a meeting for you guys to be at. Like you hear all this fantastic news. That's awesome. >> All right. Roll call, please. >> Mrs. Bloom. Yes. Miss Layman. >> Yes. >> Miss Lewis? >> Yes. >> Mr. N? >> Yes. >> Mr. Price? >> Yes. Motion's approved. >> Thank you, sir. Item number two. Um, we have a contract with resilience therapy. This is for the extend some extended school year services that will take place over the summer for um some of our students. I have a motion to approve item two, please. 024second? >> Second by Mrs. Bloom. Any discussion? >> Roll call, please. >> Mr. Nally, >> yes. >> Mrs. Bloom, >> yes. Miss Layman, >> yes. >> Miss Lewis, >> yes. >> Mr. Price, >> yes. Motion's approved. >> Thank you. Item number three is an additional contract with PT services. Um, again, this is for some summer uh extended school year. This would be providing some occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech services. >> I have a motion to approve item three, please. >> Motion by Miss Layman. Could I have a second? >> Second by Mr. Nally. Any discussion? >> Roll call, please. >> Miss Layman, >> yes. >> Mr. Nally, >> yes. >> Mrs. Bloom, >> yes. Miss Lewis, >> yes. >> Mr. Price, >> yes. Motion's approved. >> Okay. Wonderful. Thank you. Um, item number four

keeps us moving through summer. Um and we I would ask your approval for our summer elementary intervention program. Um a little different this year. We will be only servicing and providing that summer intervention to grade three students. Um giving them that opportunity to take that state level test um as needed um for that full promotion to grade four. >> Have a motion to approve item four, please. >> So moved. >> Motion by Mrs. Bloom. Could I have a second? Second. >> Second by Miss Lewis. Any discussion? >> Roll call, please. >> Mrs. Bloom. >> Yes. Miss Lewis, >> yes. Miss Leman, >> yes. >> Mr. Nelly, >> yes. >> Mr. Price, >> yes. Motion's approved. >> Thank you. Item number five is summer uh program. This is for our Ross High School students who are

credit deficient in an area and need some recovery time to make sure that they stay on that pathway for graduation. >> I have a motion to approve item five, please. Item number six. Um, finishes up with those summer programs. And this is for my high school students who are in need um to have an extra attempt at those Ohio State tests that they need for graduation that are so very important um to make sure that they can show their competency. >> I have

a motion to approve item six, please. >> So moved. >> Motion by Mrs. Bloom. Could I have a second? >> Second. Second by Mr. Nally. Any discussion? >> Roll call, please. >> Mrs. Bloom. >> Yes. >> Mr. Nally, >> yes. >> Miss Layman, >> yes. Yes, Miss Lewis. >> Yes, >> Mr. Price. >> Yes. Motion's approved. >> Thank you. Um item number seven moves us into our staff component of the agenda. Um first up, we have some resignations and um the first item that you'll see there is Dr. Lorie Pierce who is our currently our head principal at Lutz Elementary will be retiring at the end of this year. Just to note, she was hired in the district in 20145 school year. So she has been with us for a bit. She has served in

the roles of principal at Krogan and at Lutz um and throughout the time frame has even done some summer programming for us and given a little bit of extra. Um that section um for item number seven ends with Tanya Leune who is also having a uh serving a retirement at the end of this school year. She has been a nurse in our system since 2016, serving us at Fremont Middle School and currently serving us um as a Fremont City School staff member in the Bishop Huffman Catholic School System. Item number eight, we have some appointments um for some substitutes which we know are so very important. Item number five or I'm sorry, item number nine is our first uh teacher appointment if you so grant for the 2627 school year. Um Mrs. Parker at Fremont

Middle School is the first to come to BAT. Um and Mr. Anderson will be joining us as a middle school ELA teacher. He is currently student teaching here in the building and doing a fantastic job. So, we are very happy for him to continue and join us in Fremont. Um, item number 10, this is for this school year, uh, for an offseason volunteer coach for Gabrielle Grant. Um, item number 11 are some additional offseason coaches. Um, beginning in item number 12, I'm going to move us out of summer and talk a little bit about fall. So in item number 12, you will see that we begin the fall coaches for the 202627 school year. Um I would like to note that in that list that you see in item number 12, many of those coaches

are returning to us. Um but we have two new to these roles for Fremont City Schools. We have Mark Shidler joining us as a head cross country coach. Um Mr. Dr. Schneiderler is no stranger to Fremont Little Giant Athletics. He has currently been serving the district as a girls basketball assistant coach as well as a track coach. Um, but this will be his first time as a head coach joining us for cross country. So, we are thrilled. Um, and also in item number 12, we have Mr. Kenneth Wyinners that will be joining us for the head football coach position for Fremont City Schools. Um, Mr. Winters comes to us with both middle school and high school experience. Um he has been a head coach since 2016 at Washington local and very proudly he is returning

to his home field as an alumni of Fremont City Schools. So very excited. Welcome very much. Um item number 13, uh this would just solidify um the rest of our fall coaches for next year. You see a couple more there that are listed. Um, item number 14 is an IEP writer. Uh, Michelle Hamilton will be doing some extra work for us outside of her day and we would like to compensate her for that. Okay. Can >> I get a motion to approve items 7 through 14, please? >> So moved. >> Motion by Miss Lewis. Could I have a second? >> Second by Mrs. Bloom. Any discussion? >> Coach Wyers, I welcome you on to our uh team over here. I was very happy to hear that you were the pick for our football team. Um,

just watching you coach all the years. I mean, my son graduated in 2019 from here, my oldest son. So, quarterback, you know, whatever. I I to watch you coach to watch your team. I mean, you guys were at the tops and I know you guys went I I'm not sure how far you guys went, but you guys are doing really good there. And it was, you know, your name was out there and everybody knew Coach Wyinners was one of the coaches of Northwest Ohio, you know, so it's I don't know. I'm I'm really excited to see what you have to bring to Fremont. I'm glad that you're back home. Um I think it's definitely a good decision. We're going to miss Chad Long, but I'm definitely I'm I'm willing to see what you got. I'm

super excited. I know Fremont is super excited. So, welcome to Fremont and I can't wait to see I I think you know you got some of your boys here. Are I'm assuming you're all here for him, right? Are you guys >> They're not here for the regular board. >> I don't think so. You guys should be very excited. He's going to be a good leader for you guys. You know, he's got some good things up his sleeve and I pretty much just happy to see the seasons coming up here. So, I'm sure you guys are happy, too. I'm assuming. Uh-huh. All right. Yeah. So, he's going to be the coach. You're going to be the players. So, you're going to have to put it all together and unfold it on the field. Well, we'll all

be up there rooting you guys on one game at a time. >> All righty. >> Can we ask coach winners to maybe step up? >> I was going to say we'll put you on the spot, coach, if you'd like to. >> Do we just for the live stream? Yeah. Do >> we need to vote first? Go up to the discussion. So, we're good >> either way. Yep. either place. >> No, I mean I I I thank all of you for entrusting me with the keys of this program because it's a very storied program and it's always been my dream um to be the head coach at Fremont Ross. I played here uh graduated obviously here and um always had that dream but it just didn't have the opportunity a couple times. I just missed uh

having that opportunity. Um, and when I stepped away from Whitmer, uh, you know, I said the only place I'd ever come back and go on the sidelines would be at Fremont Ross. I didn't think it would happen this soon. Um, but I'm glad it did. And when it things kind of started to fall into place here in the last month or so, um, just got really excited and, um, really honored to be here. Um, again, it's a dream come true and, you know, I'm going to do my best to put my stamp on this program and, um, I'm just excited to get started because I've been in limbo this last week and I'm just itching to work with the kids and and and meeting them and, um, just ready to get started. So, thank you.

>> I think you have a great great start and a great great group of kids here and, you know, I think that'll add to your opportunities for success. >> Absolutely. Very good. Thank you, coach. >> Thank you. All right. Roll call, please. >> Miss Lewis, >> yes. >> Mrs. Bloom, yes. Miss Layman, >> yes. >> Mr. Nally, >> yes. >> Mr. Price, >> yes. Motion's approved. >> Thank you. Item number 15 is just um status change. Um contracts were issued for some of these coaches that were correct, but the agenda previously was just off. So, we just made the adjustment here as a status change. Can I get a motion to approve item 15, please? >> So move. >> Motion by Miss Layman. Could I have a second? >> Second by Mrs. Bloom. Any discussion?

>> Roll call, please. >> Miss Layman, >> yes. >> Mrs. Bloom, >> yes. >> Miss Lewis, >> yes. >> Mr. Nally, >> yes. >> Mr. Price, >> yes. Motion's approved. >> All right, moving on to report of the treasure. >> You may all leave. I'm boring. If you guys want to go and talk to your new coach. >> Yeah. No, >> thank you guys. >> You guys are good. Thanks for coming in. >> Thank you, gentlemen. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. >> Come on, Megan. You're not >> the subject matter is boring. That was her song. >> I mean, I find it highly interesting, but I know that is not everyone's thoughts and feelings. All right, now it's back to my turn. Good evening. Hope you all had a wonderful walk in this with

the snow tonight. It was just so beautiful and I'm sure we all loved it and enjoyed it. >> There was no meteors, so we're all good. >> Yeah, there was no meteors. >> A little bit, was it? pretty much the last March is kind of our slower time in the office. We're just kind of going through the motions. It feels like working with the state auditors, wrapping up the audit, getting them all the information. Nothing real um exciting otherwise going on in the next couple months. Then we'll start gearing up for the closing out of the year, which seems insane to me to be even be saying. Um, the next couple months are going to fly like no other. Um, be different cuz I already have my 5-year forecast done, so it'll my May look

a little different for me, but >> yeah. With summer programs and fall coaches and you get to this point of the year and it gets fast. >> Yeah. all of a sudden it's like warp speed till June. >> So, not that I'm wishing time goes faster because I feel like I don't have enough time as it is. So, but tonight I have the for or the not the forecast. Oh my gosh, the financials for the month of February. February is pretty uneventful. We're still waiting on the final real estate settlement. So, we you will notice that our cash balance is low at February. normally depending on when real estate um tax advances come in and whatnot, but we had a pretty we start to dip down either January or February and the lowest and this

year it happened to be February, but um March will bounce back up with that real estate collection and have the final numbers in that. You all also noticed in the report that our income tax collection was up for this year. We also still have our Medicaid um one-time payment inflating our revenue a little bit just due to we received a large one this fiscal year and I did finally just get back the one for next year and that will be large as well. So, we'll see that again next year as the same. Our interest revenue is running flat. I've been saying this for I don't know how long. We were happy when it was up, but we knew that it was going to start coming back down. So, we've finally hit that and running pretty

flat in that area. If we flip over to our expenses, salaries are up um just around 2.3% for eight months into the year, which I think is pretty good for us. We're in a people business, so we got to keep our quality people. um our supplies and our equipment lines are a little um I don't want to say unrealistic, but they're a little bit deflated this year versus last year just because last year we paid for some we had a curriculum purchase that came out of supplies last year that we're not foreseeing having to do this year. And last year we also um moved some not moved but utilized some general fund money to um make some purchases in our equipment line as well that we're not foreseeing this year. So overall for the month

of February, it's pretty nothing's really too illuminating or um exciting, which is great for me. I'm okay with that. exciting and the fun world is not where I want to be. I'm okay with the status quo for the month. So, but in the month of March, we'll see more of that real estate tax collection and what that actually looked like for the full year now. So, I will be excited to bring that back next month. So, if you want to move on with the recommendations, Mr. Trace. Uh I have an a motion to approve item 16 which is our monthly financial report. >> So moved. >> Motion by Mrs. Bloom. Second. >> Second by Mr. Nally. Any discussion? >> Roll call, please. >> Mrs. Bloom. Yes. Mr. Nally. >> Yes. >> Miss Linton. >> Yes.

>> Miss Lewis. >> Yes. >> Mr. Price. >> Yes. Motion's approved. All right. Moving on to board member communications. Uh Lori. >> Um well, congratulations and welcome aboard uh Mr. Wyinners, Ken Wyinners, the head coach for the football team. I'm sure the boys are all excited and everybody's was sitting on the edge of their seats trying to figure out who is going to be the head coach. Um congratulations to uh Mrs. Pierce on her retirement. I know she'll be missed there. I know Grayson was talking about her cuz somebody was asking about LUT school and he was going over teachers and principles and whatever and thank you for the donations and thank you to Mr. Ward for the presentation. It's pretty neat that they uh have started recognizing other students and getting them involved and

getting them to to give pats on the back. I mean, it makes everybody feel good. It'll really help the ones that are struggling. So that's it. >> Okay. Um, I had the pleasure of visiting uh last Thursday or no it was last Tuesday the Finley Pod over here. Um, eighth graders Green Bay Packaging came and I was uh there and they gave like a presentation and it was basically about well first off before after the presentation they're going to be going there in May I believe to tour the the factory. So, so the um girl printing on the presentation was basically just telling them the importance of uh let me put my glasses on. I wrote some notes just so I can get it right. Um basically not being afraid to go after your dreams.

A lot of kids want to listen to what their kids or what their friends are saying. And you know, not everybody's built for college, not everybody's built for nursing, not everybody's built for whatever uh banking, but to basically broaden your horizons and you know, check out the local factories, check out this that start from the bottom and work your way up. There's great opportunities. You know, this is the stuff that she was putting into the kids and they were listening. And um so basically in May they they're going to go there and see it with their own eyes, you know, what the company has to offer. And it was just like a morale booster and just to get them motivated and driven and get their brains thinking and and you could tell it was working

in the room cuz they were kind of throwing out ideas and you know it was just it was something to be you know something to be in the middle and be a part of. Um, but you know, like I was standing there listening to her and I thought, you know, we never had these opportunities when we were in high school or the middle school. Not that I remember. I mean, I don't remember us being able to go to factories, too. I've never walked in a factory. I think if I would have had that opportunity, I would have >> just to see what it looks like. Um, so I so that was kind of the things that they were saying, you know, just the good opportunities they have. And I thank them for taking the time

to come to the school to talk to the kids because I think that's important. So even if they pick not to go to a factory, the conversation was had. Like I said, it's getting their minds going and it was just a good exercise for them >> as that is in the middle of it. So I'm anxious to see how it turns out in May when they go in there and they can actually see hands-on what Green Bay Packaging does. So Laura, I appreciate you bringing that up. Um, that communication and partnership between Fremont Middle School and our business partners in our community is a direct correlation from our business advisory team. Um, our business advisory council that we are part of um, regionally with North Point Educational Service Center. um they do a a teacher

camp that allows for our teachers to be present uh over the summertime in many of these partner partnering organizations and companies within our area and Mr. Anway during his opportunity to be present um at the teacher camp um made those connections and then brought that back as his project and implanted that into this building so that each grade level, each team is partnered with not only with a college and university um to give those experiences to students but also to a business partner in our community. >> And then it's just what you just said. So the business partners come in, they meet with our kids, they talk with our students, they talk to them about the variety of jobs that take place in their establishments and how do you get into those jobs and what

do you need to continue to grow in those jobs and what do we do in our community. Um, but then they also have that opportunity for the students to then go on that field trip and actually see that place in action and it has just been an amazing uh win-win opportunity. um all the way around, but is directly aligned to those business partners that we work so hard to achieve. So, I appreciate you bringing that up and and highlighting that. That's it's a great opportunity for our students >> and it's a good age. It's a good age to start with because after you leave here, then it's going to be high school. We know how quick that flies. >> But in high school, you're you're having to think, >> what am I going to be

doing? What kind of things am I looking for? So, targeting the eighth graders, >> that's like the perfect age to start it at. So >> it gets their brains thinking a little bit. >> Definitely because it's things they have to think about. They're going to be facing that. So >> yes. Well, thank you. >> Uhhuh. >> That's it for me. >> Um just for the the rest of the board and and for the community. Um Mr. Price and I did um evaluations with our superintendent and treasurer last week. Um they went very well. Um great conversation um with both of the leaders of our district. Um lots of positive um feedback and and just communication about um things that we can all always improve on. Um so I just think that was important to note.

uh the community needs to um or should take comfort I should say um and knowing that our district is in very very good hands um with our superintendent and treasurer. So, thank you for allowing us that time um last week to converse and set fresh goals for uh moving forward. Um the only other two things that I have um are just plugs for things that are coming up. Um we have superintendent hurt. Do you know when the musical is off the top of your head? >> We have the spring musical coming up. >> I believe it is I want to say it's like two weeks after spring break. I I think you're right. >> Um I believe that uh Bishop Huffman Catholic Schools is on the calendar first um in that cycle. Then we do

have Spring Break there in the middle and I believe then um the Ross Spring musical is after that, but we'll have a date here in just a minute for you. >> Sure. >> Um talking. >> I Yeah, I'll keep talking. But um it's just a nice opportunity to support um our students in that way. Um, we will also have the music and art showcase. Um, that will be on Friday, May 15th. So, mark your calendars now. Um, from 5 to 8:30. This is a free event. Um, this is an event that we have annually um with the music boosters. Um, it has historically been just um the the music programs. uh 6 through 12 in the district. Um but this year they're doing things a little bit different and including an art showcase which will

showcase art from our K12 students um in the district. Um and instead of being on a Saturday afternoon, it's on a Friday evening this year. So things are a little bit different. Um I think I think it's going to be an amazing event. Um, so definitely put that on your calendars um to enjoy some music of all kinds from kiddos in our district and also art of all types um from kiddos in our district. Um and then the sports uh the Freeman Ross Sports Hall of Fame banquet is May 16th uh here in the pack. Um, I would assume I know the tickets are $50 a piece and I would assume that they could see Mrs. Moore in the finance. >> If they contact Ross High School, they will be directed to the right location

to make sure that they could purchase those tickets. >> What she said, >> and I do have those dates for you. >> Thank you. >> Um, our spring musical will be April 24th to the 26th. >> Perfect. So there will be a Friday, Saturday and Sunday um showing for for that >> lot of great exciting things going on. I only had um I had read I can't remember exactly where I read this, but I copied it down because I thought it was kind of neat and it had to do with one of our wrestlers and who was interviewed and basically it was uh someone asking what is a little giant and Kaani paused for a moment before delivering a response. uh and basically said, "A little giant, they are tough. They don't give up." And

I just thought that was kind of a neat a neat thing that was said by one of our students. >> So that's all I had. >> Um amazing. We're already hiring fall coaches. >> So thank you for coach Winners for coming here tonight and everything. in. So, spring sports though are happening, games and everything. I know there's been a couple baseball or softball scrimmages. So, um track meets and baseball and softball and tennis will all be right around the corner if we don't have any more snow like we had earlier. Um this is ridiculous, but it's spring in Ohio, so usually that means wearing your winter stuff out to watch an outside sport. So, uh good luck to all of our teams this spring. Um, thank you for the donations, especially the Fremont Area Foundation.

Um, all the time and effort and money that they have put into our community, uh, not just our district, but all over, um, over the years is absolutely amazing. Um, what they have accomplished. So, thank you again for helping us out at the stadium. Um, with that, there's no reason for executive session. So, could I have a motion for adjournment, please? >> So, move. >> Motion by Mrs. Bloom. Could I have a second? >> Second by Miss Lewis. Any discussion? >> Roll call, please. >> Mrs. Bloom. >> Yes. Miss Lewis? >> Yes. >> Miss Layman? >> Yes. >> Mr. Nally? >> Yes. >> Mr. Price? >> Yes. Motion's approved. Meetings adjourned.
