We'll just >> any other nomination. >> If

there's none, then I'm going to read resolution 26-01-002, which is to close nomination of the president. So you're just closing at this one. Good. >> Um can we go on? >> Yeah. Okay. >> Uh approval for consent agenda. >> So resolution 26-01-00006 is approval of consent agenda. >> Can I get a motion? I'll make the motion. >> I'll

second it. >> Any comments? >> Um if it's a you want me to run through these real quick? Okay. >> Yes, please. >> So the first um well be I guess we established meetings. We typically have held our meetings local re lately I should say we've been holding them here in our shared space and they're at five o'clock on Mondays. Um if you turned your page during the next section you will see when the meetings are scheduled essentially the first and third or second and fourth Mondays of the month. Um on occasion we don't have a a work session so you'll see those are missing some cases. For example in the summer we don't often have one. We can call one if we need one. We also don't have it in December. The other dates

want to call your attention to our May 18th that wouldn't follow normal cadence because the work session would fall on Memorial Day. So we pushed it a week earlier earlier. And then also um the July meeting we moved back to July 9th which is a Thursday evening which is atypical. The reason for that is for employment purposes in the state of Ohio it's been codified that uh staff who are under contract contract prior to July 10th. So we try to get a board me before that, not after it. That is often helpful in case there's any last minute action that needs to occur. Other than that, it follows the schedule. So I don't know if there's any questions about dates. I think the board members have all to put those over. So any concerns about

the dates that are there? Okay. And um I've been asked the question before that what happens if something changes? We've tried to accommodate schedules to make sure we have a quorum of the board and So, there have been times where I'll check with you if there's something that happens and we need to change dates, but otherwise, this is what we will publish if the board approves it. The next item are board action items, and I won't go through all this because you can read it um in front of you, but these are items that are typical. There's quite a few of them here. Um newspaper authorizing the you know, our communication streams for newspapers, authorizing the treasurer to pay bills, obligation, payrolls, payroll. Um sometimes the treasur needs to adjust balances. These are all matter

of fact items. Um again there's an issue in there if you have questions about blankets, purchase orders, what they call super blankets which are codified. Public records designation um also provides the treasur the ability to invest um and to look at how our cash flows including interim funds. Um we have a credit card compliance officer and uh the treasurer appoints that position. It then then moves to the superintendent as a purchasing agent which is our check and balance in the system. So you're a fiscal agent and purchasing agent between your treasur and superintendent. We approve and and uh try to get all grants federal and state to the board of education. Um there's also a tax incentive review commission that we sit on some of us and we'll bring updates. Those are typically for TIFFs

or CRAAS and we'll give updates to the board on those. Those typically happen in the latter part of the summer. Um there's a service fund if the board needs anything. For example, if you were to go to OSBA and you wanted to participate, I think a couple of you um Mr. CPO and Mr. Frager, I think you're going to go latter part of this month, the board can pay for your training and also those are things like that as well as other things that can make sense um for the board and their development. um anything that's minor like coffee or um some light meals for any kind of meetings that are considered part of board action. Um we have some insurance bonds or shy bonds that we make sure we participate in. And then we

have some purchasing cooperatives. They're all listed there too, but basically those allow us to um we don't have to go through a bidding process if they've gone through the state process. So it lets us go at a faster pace while also knowing we've done our due diligence. So records commission there will typically have well typically we'll have a meeting once a year and Mrs. Drum will help with that. We use legal counsel as you would expect. So we have some legal counseled there appointed there you can read um and we use if something changes you know we'll um let you know if we need additional legal counsel. um Ohio School Boards Association. Our participation there um part of that membership includes transportation supervisor subscription which we use um on some minimal basal assistance fund. So

board members have questions about legalities. That's a very inexpensive way to go and a lot of times they've been through the process. We we often use them too. You probably do more than I do. There might be I don't know three to six times a year for kind of common peruncter things. You think Um there's a um an R and S there. It's uh important those because it allows me to hire staff before board meeting. You know, we talked about board meeting days. Inevitably, it always happens like we'll have a board meeting and the next day something happens from a personnel standpoint. So I have the ability to hire staff and bring it to the board at the next reason um next regular meeting. And then we also have also to accept resignations from staff

too. That's helpful too because then we can set resignations and start the personnel process on the board updates about those things if that becomes an issue. Um Ohio Education Policy Institute is there. That's the group that helps a lot with school funding and um Mrs. Dummy and I sit on that. Um there's also the Lick Region Educational Service Center. So we have an agreement with them. I think that covers everything that gets sent as fast as I can, but also giving you some context and happy to answer any questions if you have any of that that we covered over quickly. I know the board has looked over that in advance. >> Yeah. Any questions? >> All right. Call the RO. Mrs. Thomas, >> yes. >> Mr. Benton? >> Yes. >> Mrs. Davis? >> Yes. >>

Mr. Frasier? >> Yes. >> Mr. CPO? >> Yes. >> Um, the next section is appointing of committees and leazison appointments. So, um we have different committees there and I know I've sent the board some information. Last year we had eight committees. Um we thought that it might make some sense to consolidate some of the committees like for example last year we had a buildings grounds and safety committee and we also had a strategic planning economic development and construction project and sometimes there would be overlap in the construction project and the buildings and grounds. So through some of our la work last year you can Now we're recommending three committees here. So we have buildings, ground safety and construction projects. So we have our athletic projects. We would wrap those inside of the um previous buildings,

ground safety, construction um curriculum, athletics and extracurriculars that is also collapsing two committees. The idea with athletics coupling it um and extracurricular with curriculum is really more about overnight trips and all. That's what a lot of that was processing. There's really other things that were more personnel related typical come finance. So we really have standalone athletics items. So we thought rather than have separate committees, we push those together and see how that works this year. Finance would stay the same. Um insurance would stay the same. Policy would stay the same and technology. And then what we're looking for some discussion from the board about um who would sit on which committee. Um, I did have the opportunity to talk to all five board members and get some thoughts and um, we came up with some

suggestions. So, I don't know how you want to proceed from here if you want me to. >> I think we can just start at the top and >> Okay. >> Um, I'd like to remain on the building's ground safety and construction project. >> Okay. >> And other board members who >> Yeah, we have to jump. >> Okay. So, we have Thomas and Steve Frasier for building ground safety construction. >> And so we usually do you know a lead person and then a second which um you know the lead person will help with note takingaking reporting out etc. We do some shared duties with that. Um but then also we can have an alternate if for some reason either you are unable to make it. Uh we have a list of alternates which is helpful. >>

So anybody wants to serve as like a third person if someone's >> sure I'd be interested in that. I guess through that one. >> And you also I mean I I in the past we haven't always had alternates. It's just you know who's who's available, you know, whatever. >> Usually it's kind of crazy something up for like trying to detect. >> Yeah. It's just really who can be there. Well, in the past, what we've done instead of having alternates sometimes all the years kind of blurred in my mind, but what we've done is if the two people can't make it, if one of the two can't make it, they normally will talk to the president and then we'll find out who can make the meeting. >> Yeah. >> Is what we've done in the past.

So that way most of the time we schedule everything so that everyone can be there, right? Because when the committees meet, we we typically call the committee members to make sure were available at that day and that time. So it would be an unusual event when the two people that are assigned are not actually physically there >> and we try and accommodate schedules if we can again if something happens you know >> we'll certainly go to our third person. >> Um the next area is curriculum athletics and extracurricular again that's the new combined committee but curriculum is still the core >> I'd like to remain on that same and then come in with the athletics and extracurricular off that >> so is going to be the least person. >> Do you have any preference? No.

Okay, I'll be >> do we want a third person there as an alternate just in case anybody interested in curriculum athletics? >> Yeah, I would be if no one else wants. >> Okay. Okay. >> And again, that's not set in stone. I mean, if someone can't make it and Allan can't make it, we'll certainly reach out. Others, >> next we have finance. >> I would like to remain on the finance committee. >> Yeah, Alan was previously on that. So I think that that's smart to have a >> you were lead on finance last been there. Okay. >> And I'm h I'm happy to take the second spot. >> Okay. Do we want an alternate for finance as well? >> I'll do I'll give you the alternative finance. I'd be interested. >> Great. >> Put on

insurance. >> I'd like to step down from >> Yeah. No, I I just want to say one thing. Not that I don't like it. I want to say that I think it's evolved. I like the group. >> I I like the group before, but uh it's a good time to step away consultant. Um and Corbin's not with us now and it's a good time to step away, but we have a good group of people meeting and I think new eyes on it. >> Yeah, I had talked to Mr. Cop, Mr. Frasier about doing that. It also there was discussion. We talked on Friday we some prep work for today and we talked about even in finance and how this actually is a >> large aspect of our financial >> package and all too. So, >>

and it'll keep you busy. There's several meetings that we think the first one's scheduled for February. >> Yeah, because we we will have some data coming in from the end of the year. So, >> so yeah, like I'd be interested in doing that. >> Okay, Mr. Fraser, are you good, sir? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. And do we have a third person who I was gonna say maybe >> I could alter this >> and then if I we'll start to watch for pattern if maybe two core people aren't available and Ann's being called a lot we'll know why. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um policy. >> Um >> yeah I would like to step away from that one. I've been on it for years. >> Okay. So >> I actually would like to remain on policy.

>> You were the lead on policy. >> Yes. And Jesse and I think had a great conversation. I think he'll be a good addition. >> Yeah. >> Who wants to serve as Gohead. So I have Amanda and Jesse. >> Yeah. Should be >> I can Okay. >> Okay. >> Um who do we have a third person that can back us up on policy in case we end up with an alternate? >> Do you want to do it or you want me to do it? >> I'll do it. >> You'll do it. And the last official committee there is um technology. This committee doesn't meet often it's typically once >> maybe twice but >> yeah it's pretty well set up. We have a budget that we in a good state >> and we we look at

replenishing our assets computers copers you know those tools for projectors boards. So, I'd like to stay on that if that's okay. I've been doing that for years, too. But, um, but the board has to establish a budget for us to work for. So, you have really the board really has control over what we can do. >> Yeah. And I can say a second. >> So, Alan, you were lead on technology, Amanda. Um, how about serve as an alternate on that if we need it? Shouldn't really be an issue. I could be an alternate on that because sometimes I think you guys met when you did meet and it uh joined with the curriculum not joined but it would be meeting times. >> We tried to package meetings if it makes sense for the board members

so that you know you could come for a block of time and possibly >> if somebody else wants to do it then. >> Okay. >> So I'm going to read down through committee assignments just to make sure I have it clear. So buildings ground safety and construction. I have Annne Thomas as lead Steve Frasier as second and then we have alternative Jesse CPO. Tell me if I'm I'll go through quick but correct me if you see something different. Uh curriculum athletics extracurriculars I have Amanda Davis and Thomas and alternate is Alan Benton. Uh finance we have Alan Benton Amanda Davis alternate is Jesse Cppel. Um, insurance we have Jesse Cpple, Steve Frasier, alternate Anne Thomas. Policy we have Amanda Davis, Jesse Cppo, alternate Steve Frasier. In technology we have Alan Benton, Amanda Davis, and alternate

is Thomas. I get that right? >> Yes. >> Yated. Um, the one thing I didn't talk about um before I missed something. >> I got my order wrong. No, this is why we do that. >> Yeah. Um, we'll put it up on the board agenda. We'll get it formalized tomorrow. Get it on the board website, too. Um, one thing I didn't talk to you about before was the OSBA capital conference delegation. Um, we really haven't had to do much with that in the past. I think that, um, yeah, there's been very little responsibility there. I think we had be a capital conference delegate. Was that Amanda or >> I think it was me. Yeah. All right. I'll I'll do it again. >> Okay. It's it's there's very low >> our legislative person is. >> Yeah.

That's I've been that we've done nothing. >> Gave you a long list. >> Well, this is if they ever asked. I mean capital conference they usually had they had alternate I'm alter. >> Okay. Daisy had the board president doing that. Um, legislative on I think and I think you were the legislative. >> No, I think I think I was. >> I was, but we've never >> anybody interested. >> Jess, are you interested in that? >> Yeah, I could be interested. >> Okay. I I really don't think there'll be much here, but in case they ask for it, we haven't had anything in years on this, but >> Jesse down. >> Anybody? I put Jesse down. We have an alternate for legislative de delegate for OSBA. >> I thought that was Jesse. >> No, I put

him down as >> legislative. There's an alternate >> I didn't do the alternate. >> Anybody interested in alternate for legisl but it is important to >> and then how about student achievement? We had >> I've met in the past. >> Okay. >> Davis. How many times have done that? >> Just me. Sorry. Sometimes she calls. I know. I do that. Sorry. >> Um Okay. I think that completes our board committees. Any questions. There are good um what we'll do um is I'll start I'll work with Mrs. Drum and then I'll also work with Mrs. Low and we'll get you ready on any committees that are coming up. We'll probably need policies in time the latter part of this month and we'll check with your schedules. >> Do we need to do a motion to approve

committee? >> I think we kind of did that already. >> No, but I think we kind of jumped ahead. >> Okay. didn't want to miss anything. >> Motion to approve committee appointments. >> Take a motion on that. >> Oh, yeah. >> I'll do it after. >> I'll motion. >> Okay. >> Second to approve committee appointments. >> I'll second it. >> Okay. You don't need me to read those again. We got N. Okay. Okay. Call the roll. >> Mrs. Thomas, >> yes. >> Mr. Benton, >> yes. >> Mrs. Davis, >> yes. >> Mr. Frasier, >> yes. >> Mr. Coff, >> yes. >> Board comments. >> Okay. >> I don't really have anything either. So, have to welcome our two new board members. >> Yep. >> Welcome our two new board members and then um we'll get

to our next So resolution 26-01-007 is adjournment of the organizational meeting. >> I'll second it. >> Ready. Got it. >> And call the roll. >> Mrs. Thomas, >> yes. >> Mr. Benton, >> yes. >> Mrs. Davis, >> yes. >> Mr. Cole, >> yes. >> Mr. Frasier, >> yes. 536. >> We're going to our regular meeting now. So if everybody wants to stay, you're welcome. But if you wanted to go, it's up to you, too. >> Yeah. >> Start with another do it all again. >> Do it all again. All right. Well, we will start our regular session board meeting with a moment of silent prayer. and stand for the pledge again. I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God,

indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Yeah. >> Her computer needs to refresh. It's totally fine. All right. And take call. >> Mrs. Davis >> here. >> Mrs. Thomas >> here. >> Mr. Frasier >> here. >> Mr. Cppel >> here. >> Mr. Benson >> here. >> And the reading of the notice. This is a public meeting of the board of education for the purpose of conducting the school district's business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There's a time for public participation during the meeting as indicated in the agenda. Each statement made by participant shall be limited to three minutes. Upon request of the superintendent, the district shall make reasonable accommodation for a person with a disability to be able to participate in this activity. Recording shall be made of each

meeting of the board as administrative aid and shall be preserved as public documents of the board. >> And do we have anyone Allan signed up? >> She went all the way around the room. >> Okay. >> All right. And additions or deletions. >> Um I do have three changes to the board agenda. If you look to consent and you look um item B, it'll be classified employment. And I had a TBD in there to be determined. I'm going to strike that. Um one of the things that we have to uh go through is um pre-employment procedures and we thought that we would have everything ready by this meeting and it it wasn't available. So, I'm not going to put someone in front of the board until we make sure that all items are met. So,

we'll bring them to the board at the next meeting if they complete everything's completed. Um, the next item is C pupil activity employment and we have Jim Langerfer there now as high school assistant track coach. I also want to add, and this was just a clarifier on our part, want to add Ed Zack as varsity softball assistant coach. that ZK or CH Z >> Z AK Edward he goes by actually Zack Z AK and it's varsity softball assistant coach and per our collective bargaining agreement he would be in group three step zero and this would be for the 25 26 school year. So again he would come in under C right below Jim Langer for there and then the third change um is if you turn toward the end of the agenda just issue. Um,

we have executive session number nine, board comments 10, and superintendent comments as 11. Just want to change that order. So, we'll make board comments number nine, and we'll do superintendent comments as 10 and then number 11 will be executive session. That way, you know, people aren't waiting to hear what needs to be shared. And then we'll go into executive session at the end. And when we get there, I'll read that. But other than that, those are the only changes I have to the agenda. >> Okay. Can I get a motion to adopt? >> Second. >> Doesn't matter either way. >> Either way. >> Mr. Mr. Benton. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Thomas. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Davis. >> Yes. >> Mr. CPO. Yes, >> Mr. Frasier. >> Yes. >> Um, board of education member recognition. >>

Yes. So, for presentations, we'll spend just a few minutes here. Um, every year the Ohio School Boards Association sends certificates of appreciation. So, we have those tonight to share with the board members and even our two new board members. you get recognized for being at your first meeting. Um, more importantly though, um, last year we started to produce this, so we got one that's has your name engraved in it. So, we have one for each of our new board members. And, um, I should note that this is laser engraved from our high school. Actually, we have, uh, we were able to get some donations a couple years ago. Sorry, the t of a co cold here. Um, we got some donations and we have some steam equipment and we use it for the the staff

help with this. So, I'm gonna get the name engraved in there. >> Isn't that nice? >> And our other board members. Um, >> I was gonna say, wait a minute. You got yours last year. >> I know. I know. >> Well, the video These are certificates of appreciation from the Ohio School Boards Association because this is school board. Um >> um so that's school association. Just a small token you know we spent a lot of time at the last board meeting so I won't spend a ton of time today because we certainly recognize Tim and but really as I said um in December that's really a tribute to the efforts of the board and that's been accomplished. So, we do appreciate working with all of you and look forward to this uh calendar year 2026

ahead. So, that's all I have unless there are questions or comments. >> No. And um board committees, I don't >> Yeah, we don't have anything to report except that as Mrs. Thomas said, insurance will meet on the February 26 and we'll um we'll get with our insurance representatives and make sure everyone's invited as they should. That meeting has been scheduled for some time. That's the only reason why it's up there is because we have we'll be able to look at how we ended the calendar year and then we're transition to our new um insurance year and then local professional development committee. Um I don't have anything to report there either. Our next meeting will be on the 20th. So it's coming up. So in the February meeting I'll have an update there. Otherwise, um, like

I said, if there's other committees that are needed, I'm going to try to get our curriculum athletics extracurricular together this Thursday now that I have my two representatives. And um, what's going to be important there for Mrs. Davis and M. Mrs. Thomas is um, we have some trips we need to look at. um softball is requesting one over spring break and then there's a band trip um in December, which I know we talked about a little bit um last month, but it's coming up um December 26th. So um having some people come in and meet with us at that time and I have some more details and questions we can go through. Okay. Other than that, I don't have any >> um updates for the that section. >> All right. And consent agenda. >> Yeah,

consent agenda. Do you want me to run through this real quick? Okay. So, consented agenda 26-01-009 request first and second. >> Motion motion. >> Second. >> I'll second. >> Okay. I'll run through these real quick. Okay. Um, as I said, remove B from uh that from this section as I said. So, we'll go right to uh C. So, we have supplemental employment and we have the Jim Langer for who's on there, but then also Ed Zack and then pupil activity um employment actually he's covered there you can see that's where Zack should be listed. Um and then we have volunteers I won't go through all the names but what you see there are the schools where they'll be volunteering their general responsibilities and their dates. Just so you're aware, we go through a background check

process for any for the two new board members, anyone who volunteers in the schools, especially if there could ever be among the children's rare, but we make sure that we go through a background check process. So, their names are listed there and then the buildings as I said and the dates of when their validity would or validation would expire. Next, we have volunteers for softball and you see there's four names there. We have board committee meeting minutes and that's from our last meeting on December 18th. Monthly finance report that's attached and shared with the board. I believe that's everything for consent agenda is relatively short this month. >> Y any questions or comments on those? >> All right, call you have something. >> Oh, go for it. >> We always thank our volunteers. want to

thank them and thank uh the individuals that stepped up to coach our student athletes. >> Now, >> Mrs. Thomas, >> yes. >> Mr. Benton, >> yes. >> Mr. Frasier, >> yes. >> Mr. Coppel, >> yes. >> Mrs. Davis, >> yes. >> Treasurations. >> Yes. I saw you clicking. Okay. Resolution 2601-10 would be to approve the donations. And we have a donation from the Mary Bcock Foundation for $2,900. Can I get a motion? >> I'll motion >> and a second. >> I'll second it. >> Just like to thank the Mary E. Foundation for providing this monetary donation for the guest speaker. I understand it's at the JMS speaker. >> Yeah, it's JMS, but he'll also be able to speak to our high school and intermediate students. It's a motivational, inspirational, >> school. Yeah. >> Mrs. Thomas,

>> yes. >> Mr. Benton, >> yes. >> Mrs. Davis, >> yes. >> Mr. Cppel, >> yes. >> Mr. Fraser, >> yes. Resolution 26-01-011 authorize the real estate advance tax um advance. >> Can I get a motion motion? >> A second >> question. I would just add um this is just asking that the county auditor fund whatever they may have collected on tax bills that as they collect that money they forward it to the district. We're not borrowing. >> That's right. >> Yeah. >> Right. >> Mrs. Thomas. >> Yes. >> Mr. Frasier. >> Yes. >> Mr. CP. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Davis. >> Yes. >> Mr. Benton. >> Yes. >> Superintendent recommendations. >> Recommendation resolution 26-01-012 club sport indoor track. >> Can I get a motion? >> I'll make the motion. >> Second. >> For some

background for the board, this is the second year we've done this. And the season typically runs from the first week in December to the first weekend in March, which is the state meet. Um, but the coach has been keeping us updated and this year it officially started January 3rd and the end date is supposed to be March 7th and none of our athletes have yet competed. So, >> call the roll. >> Mrs. Thomas, >> yes. >> Mr. Frasier, >> yes. >> Mr. CPO, >> yes. >> Mr. Benton, >> yes. >> Mrs. Davis, >> yes. >> Resolution 26-01-013 are volunteers. >> Can I get a motion? a motion. >> A second. I pulled these out um specifically because it's Melissa Dyer and Jim Langader and they would specifically be the volunteers for this club sport. So

that's why we pulled them off. We wanted to make sure they were recognized and we appreciate what they're doing for indoor track. >> We certainly appreciate them and their efforts. They're very energized for running track and participate in the community. Mrs. Thomas, >> yes. >> Mr. Frasier, >> yes. >> Mr. Benton, >> yes. >> Mrs. Davis, >> yes. >> Mr. CP, >> yes. >> Resolution 26-01-014, Eagle's Wing Academy Purchase Agreement. >> Can I get a motion? >> A motion. >> Second. >> Thank you. >> Um, I don't provide any detail about this, but this is for student with special needs. So, we The board approve it as a separate contract. It's beyond our typical threshold. The dates of service are there in your in the resolution. >> Mrs. Thomas, >> yes. >> Mr. Frasier, >>

yes. >> Mr. Cppel, >> yes. >> Mrs. Davis, >> yes. Mr. Benton, >> yes. >> Next, uh, resolution 26-01-015 is second reading revised policies. >> Can I get a motion? >> I'll make the motion. >> I'll second. I'm going to go through a lot of policies here in these next resolutions and I know you saw some of this in the weekly report we call the Friday report. But what this means now when these revised policies the board approved this tonight there's no changes then those will become part of our policies we start to implement those become official policies. >> Alan lost his motion buddy. >> Yeah I know. >> So it's always been Amanda and I but we're good to go right. >> Yep. All right. I think Steve was at the last meeting. >>

Yeah. >> Before he was a board member. It's open public meeting so anyone can come to any of our committee meetings. >> So he joined us at our last policy meeting. >> Thank you Coral. >> Mr. Benton. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Thomas. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Davis. >> Yes. >> Mr. Frasier. >> Yes. >> Mr. Coppel. >> Yes. >> Resolution 26-01-016. Second reading to resend the policies. >> Can I get a motion? >> I'll make a motion. >> Second >> on these policies. If you look to the next resolution, there's a lot of duplication there. What happens is if there are multiple revisions to a policy, rather than bring them to the board and say, "Let's do multiple um revisions. We just resend them and then whatever is effective, we reinstate as a new policy

just a way to do things." So what you see listed there are um all polic that are recommended to be rescended. Like I said, then some of those will come forward in the next resolution. >> Any questions? >> Mr. Benton? >> Yes. >> Mrs. Thomas? >> Yes. >> Mr. Frasier? >> Yes. >> Mr. CP? >> Yes. >> Mrs. Davis? >> Yes. >> Resolution 26-01-0177. This is the second reading of replacement policies. >> Can I get a motion? >> I'll make a motion. >> Second. Second. As I said, these some of these tie in with the ones you just recended. >> Call >> Mr. Benton. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Thomas, >> yes. >> Mrs. Davis, >> yes. >> Mr. Coppel, >> yes. >> Mr. Frasier, >> yes. >> Position 26-01-018, second reading of new policies. >>

Can I get a motion? >> Second. I'll second. >> I know you've seen this a second reading. questions. >> Mr. Benton, >> yes. >> Mrs. Thomas, >> yes. >> Mr. Frasier, >> yes. >> Mrs. Davis, >> yes. >> Mr. Cel, >> yes. >> Resolution 26-01-019, first reading of revised policies. >> Can I get a motion? >> I'll make a motion. >> Second, a second. >> So, but this now we start to get into first reading policies here. So, these are going to revision. So this is a recommendation coming out of policy. Any questions? We'll take it back to policy. But these are certainly reviewed. If there's nothing, then we'll be bringing these back to the next meeting for consideration as a second reading. >> Questions? >> Mr. Benton? >> Yes. >> Mrs. Thomas? >> Yes.

>> Mrs. Davis? >> Yes. >> Mr. Cold? >> Yes. >> Mr. Frasier? >> Yes. >> Position 26-01-020. First reading to resend policy. >> Can I get a motion? >> I'll make a motion. >> Second. I'll second. >> Same process. You rescending some that you know had multiple revisions to them. So >> this is your first reading of it. >> And it's a good reminder that this is one of our um our main responsibilities as the board is to review policies, which is why there's lots of them. >> All right. >> Just real quick, some of these are what we call triplets. We explain this, but these are policies like you'll see in the 3200s, 4200s, and 7200s. They're all the same. We just put in bulk. It just goes by different categories, whether it's students,

staff, or just general. >> Mr. Benton, >> yes. >> Mrs. Thomas, >> yes. >> Mr. Frasier, >> yes. >> Mr. CP, >> yes. >> Mrs. Davis, >> yes. Position 26-01-021 are first reading of replacement policies. >> Can I get a motion on those? >> I'll make a motion >> and a second. Second. >> And again, those just follow with the previous one because you can see they're replacing the three that you rescended. So >> questions call the roll. >> Mr. Benton, >> yes. >> Mrs. Thomas, >> yes. >> Mrs. Davis, >> yes. >> Mr. Frasier, >> yes. >> Mr. couple. >> Yes. Resolution 26-01-022, first reading of new policies. >> Can I get a motion? >> I'll make a motion >> and a second. A second. >> First reading. >> All right. Call. >> Mr.

Benton. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Thomas. >> Yes. >> Mr. Frasier. >> Yes. >> Mr. CPO. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Davis. Yes. >> Next, as a reminder, we switched the order, so we've moved to board comments now. >> Board comments. Um, I get to be a volunteer at BizTown this week, so I'll give a report when I'm done. But what I want to say is I remember Debbie many, many years ago. I said, "I heard about this really great thing called Biztown they're doing in other schools." and we talked about it that year and we talked about the next year and it's been in place for a little while, but I'm really excited to see not just the students go, but I'm excited as a parent and a board member to see because I've heard so

many wonderful things. Send me Send me good luck with all the fifth graders on Wednesday. >> That's exciting. I am >> You know what's exciting too is they've opened up that newer bridge now, too, because it used to have to go downtown for that. So, this has been a a good effort primarily led by the YMCA or uh Junior Achievement, I should say. Junior Achievement really led a lot of this. >> Is that in the old State Farm building 16 or >> uh >> No, no, it's not that. >> No, I forget where >> Okay. >> No, it's not there. But, >> but I'm anxiously awaiting to see what assignments my twins will get >> see their potential. I noticed in the Friday report about roof leaks of JMS. Is that at all involved with

the destruction that we had up there? >> I don't Yeah, I don't um I don't know, but we'll get you an update on that. But what um Mrs. Thomas is referring to is we actually filed a police report because we had some vandalism to the HVC units on top of the roof of the middle school. So I'll get you an answer on that. We'll go with our we'll go look through that buildings and ground. >> Have we had any other leaks at JMS until now? I mean not that I'm aware of. >> No. And you know we'll look at we have a primary we have a good um process we file. We have a latex based material that you know we look at but we'll get you an update >> because how long would that

be good for? >> I don't you know I'll have to look and see what that is. I don't want to do it. >> The um typically when you apply those products it's about a 10-year warranty but I I don't want to speak out. Let me get you a bet data and I'll give you an update on Friday about where things stand with that because I don't know. >> It's a concern in my head. >> Yeah. possibly would be looking at putting a new >> um I don't think it's No, we don't have that in our capital plans right now unless something changed. No, but I it's not even projected because we've done evaluations about it too. One of the challenges and condemning the past in shape or form, but when you have multiple additions to

a building, sometimes that creates some greater challenges. And that building's had multiple additions >> extenduating wind storms and a lot of potential twisters have been in the air in Johntown last spring the previous spring we had a radio show and things so we don't really know how much that affects it weakens >> the good news is our maintenance team keeps up on things and they do do a good review like even this building we commissioned our group and they did a nice job because there were roof leaks in this building as well too so we've done a nice job you know um trying to make sure we'll address that but I'll get you better an answer because I don't off top my head what the stat the This update is >> I do call Johntown

the other windy city. >> Even over the weekend it was really windy. >> We lost power. >> I mean I think two or three times this weekend. >> Okay. Thank you. Good question. >> Anything else? >> Um I just had a few updates for the board. Um, we have executive session now, but if anybody's interested, especially the board, I can walk you through the back of the building here, but that's really coming together nicely. Um, some of the subcontracting work has taken longer than expected, but it's it's kind of exciting to see the baseball softball area and wrestling and cheerleading. So, again, we can walk at the end of the night if we have a few minutes someone want to offer that. Anyone if anyone else is here, we can certainly do that, too. Um,

they're welcome to join us. We were supposed to have the pantry award presentation on Saturday and then there was some mix up I guess with schedules with others. So that's been rescheduled to the girls game and I think it's February 7th I think is the date. Um I don't want to spoil the surprise but Johntown that's been a friendly competition with the North schools and Johntown has done well in past years. So we'll see what happens on February 7th but hopeful. >> Um >> is that home for us? >> Yes. the dog. The robo dog. >> I I didn't I didn't bring the I didn't bring the robotic dog. I could though. We didn't do it this year. We did it last year. >> Exciting time. Everybody loves the robo dog. >> Okay, we'll get

the robotic dog ready this for February 7th. Um reminder that the PTO um is holding the Wizards game. That'll be this Thursday at 7 PM. So, it'll be at our high school gym. They did that first time last year. Went really well. After this year though, it'll fall on an every other year. because we think that it almost wear out that too much. We were talking about at the meeting. Um, believe it or not, and I see my friend, Mrs. Robin Wagner back there, kindergarten registration nights. I can't believe we're saying that already. U, but February 22nd, Sunday is when we're first night, and then we also continue into February 23rd, which is a Monday. Uh the Sunday time uh for those listening is again February 22nd starts at 4 pm at Jes Elementary School

and then on Monday it'll be at 7 p.m. So >> I'm sorry at the PAC performing arts center >> between the two buildings there. >> Yeah. Hard to believe that's already starting. >> Yeah. >> Is it >> surprising? >> Yeah. Um and then just a reminder to the entire board that um our next meeting then is will be Monday January 26. So two weeks from tonight and that'll be a work session. So we'll work on an agenda and hold that in the board office. And that's all I have for updates. >> All right. And then motion for executive session. Want to read the >> Yes. And that'll be um resolution 26-01-023 executive session. It's a motion for the board of education entering executive session for the purpose of considering the employment employment dismissal discipline promotion

demotion or compensation of a public employee or official. And we do not expect to ask the board to vote on anything after this meeting other than the closed meeting. But there'll be nothing related to executive discussion as we're anticipating. I'll >> motion. Second. >> I'll second. >> All right. >> Oh, call. >> Mrs. Thomas, >> yes. >> Mr. Benton, >> yes. >> Mr. Frasier, >> yes. >> Mr. CP, >> yes. >> Mrs. Davis, >> yes. >> Okay. So, we'll go we'll end about 603 here and then we'll go into executive session and come back. >> Okay.
