Um, Sander has made tremendous progress in his communication skills, moving from using syllables and sounds to using an iPad to communication app and now is verbalizing many of his wants and needs in the classroom. And he continues to grow and refine his articulation skills in the area which he has truly shine. and his family is an unwavering support and has been paramount to his success in school. It's like Nice job. >> Next up, we're going to um recognize our staff and
007we're going to start with our classified staff. Um the first one is not able to be here tonight, but it's Danielle tomorrow and she's one of our pair of professionals. So I was just going to read her um what was written by the classroom that she works in. So this is from Tara Palisano and it says, "Let's take a moment to shine the spotlight on someone who makes our Mayfield preschool brighter every single day. Our amazing pair of professional Danielle tomorrow. Danielle is a kind person who shows up with energy, creativity, and a smile that instantly makes our cubs feel at ease. She's a hard worker through and through, never afraid to roll up her sleeves and dive into whatever challenges come her way. But what Danielle says, what really sets Danielle apart is her
008gift for connection. She has an incredible ability to meet children where they are to understand them and help them feel seen and heard. That's not a skill, that's a superpower. Danielle works closely with our preschoolers who might need adult support. And she does it with patience, compassion, and a steady presence. That makes all the difference. She helps create an environment where every child can thrive no matter what the obstacles they are nicknamed. And let's not forget her artsy side. She is our crafter. Danielle brings creativity into every class she touches. Whether that color, imagination, or spark. She reminds us that learning isn't just about book. It's about joy, expression, and discovering new ways to see the world. So today, we celebrate Danielle tomorrow, not for the work that she does, but for the heart she
009brings to it. We now thank you for being a role model, a supporter, and a creative force in our school. She makes every day brighter, and we're lucky to have her. Unfortunately, she's not feeling well, so she's not able to be here, but we wanted to recognize her all day. And then our next classif introducing Nicole. Um, she has not been with preschool very long. In fact, she's actually the newest one of our team members. that she has already made a remarkable impression. Nicole has served in many different camp capacities throughout her time at Beth Hill City Schools, always stepping in whenever she's needed and doing so with heart. In a short time, Nicole has shown genuine excitement, dedication, and a strong commitment to building meaningful connections with our students. From day one, she brought
010an eagerness to learn, and she is deeply invested in our students and their growth. Nicole is hardworking and has quickly learned how to set high expectations for each student, no matter their ability level. She celebrates her successes with enthusiasm and is always ready to support them in whatever they may need. She isn't afraid to sit on the floor, jump in a play, and fully engage with our friends. No matter how loud, messy, or wonderfully silly things get, Nicole understands the power of play and the art of joyful learning. Most importantly, Nicole shows up each day with an energy that lifts us up. She helps our little world of organized chaos run smoothly. Uh we are incredibly grateful to have you in Go ahead, guys. >> And it's only teenagers, so you don't know how fun
011that is. Thank you. >> Our last staff member is our certified staff member, Christine Crest, who's the district visible therapist. She's dressed up, which is so out of her element. So, we appreciate that effort and she got high toes on. I'm like, "Oh my gosh." Um, I said I wasn't going to cry because I just a short thing is my our daughters are best friends and so to honor recognize Christine. This is the most well-deserved human being in our district. Um, I'll read what I wrote and stick to the script. Uh Christine Crest exemplifies the mission of the vision and the vision of the Mayfield City School District through her dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to student success. She approaches her role as the district's physical therapist with professionalism, compassion, and a true passion for
012supporting every student's growth and well-being. Christine works collaboratively with teachers, families, and other service providers to ensure that students receive the individualized support they need to thrive academically, socially, and physically. Her thoughtful approach, attention to detail, and ability to problem solve make her an invaluable member of our team. Beyond her technical skills, she's like MacGyver. She can like put pedals on anything. Uh Christine brings positivity, encouragement, and a genuine care to every interaction. She not only helps students reach their physical goals, but inspires confidence and independence, empowering them to overcome challenges and celebrate their achievements. As a mom of two Mayfield students, a community member, a loving wife, and a tremendous friend, I'm deeply grateful for Christine's forward thinking approach, and her ability to always say yes mentally, no matter what the ask is. Her
013willingness to go above and beyond combined with her positivity, dedication, and collaborative spirit make a lasting impact on students, families, and colleagues alike. The Mayfield City Schools is and their community is so fortunate to have Christine as a part of their team. And her commitment to living in the district's mission and vision is evident in every student she supports and every colleague she inspires. family also teenagers. I just before we move on to Dr. regards to a couple of announcements. I wanted to recognize two groups that are here that have helped the preschool and supported the preschool in numerous ways. Um, one of our goals at the preschool is always to build community partnerships. And these two groups have um purchased specialized equipment for many of our students so that they can participate in class.
014And so we have Mr. Finani from the alumni association. the answer is always yes. So I think he gets that what that's our mission this year. And then we have members from the Highland Heights Lions Club that are here and they purchased equipment for us last year will also be purchasing um items for us this year. So we're really excited for our partnership with them. SO HI. >> How are you? >> I know. >> Oh, yeah. These guys up front. And then last um one last thing that we're celebrating this evening is um we have a staff member um at the preschool that at on at Friday night's cab game is going to be recognized as December's head of the class award winner. And so Melissa Armstrong, can you please come up? >> All right.
015Good evening everyone. On behalf of the Mayfield Board of Education, myself, Treasurer Sny, we would like to offer a huge shout out to Missy Armstrong. As Nikki has indicated, she has been selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the head of the class December winner. Missy will be recognized at the December 19th basketball game and will also receive a $500 Amazon gift card for her classroom. The cla the calf shared that they were deeply moved to hear about the incredible work Missy does each day with our youngest learners. She continuously goes above and beyond for her students, colleagues, and the entire Mayfield community. Congratulations. God bless. >> All right. This is
01697 at its finest right here. Look at this. video which was created by Amanda Pona who's also here who did a tremendous job. Wait till you see it because I made her do 77 takes every time she had to film something. So um it is fascinating, fabulous to showcase what we do every DAY AS MAPLE PRESCHOOL. THANK YOU FOR TAKING the time to watch this short video highlighting a day at the Mayfield Preschool. >> Our staff and students are excited to share all that Mayfield Preschool has to offer. This video provides insight into the day-to-day activities of our youngest learners, showcasing both what they do and the meaningful purpose behind it through a playful and engaging song modeled after Do You Like Broccoli Ice Cream by Super Simple Songs. This video follows a preschooler's day
017from arrival to dismissal. Along the way, we highlight key components of early childhood education, showing how we intentionally create routines that foster independence, build relationships, and promote curiosity, all within a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment. Do you like preschool? >> Yes, I do. I do. >> Do you like gross motor? >> Yes, I do. I do. >> We say yes to gross motor time in preschool because it's a time for active play, imagination, and adventure. It helps children build strong bodies, practice social skills, and develop confidence all while being active. >> Do you like playtime? >> Yes, I do. >> We say yes to play in preschool because it's essential for learning. It supports cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Through play, children explore ideas, solve problems, build relationships, and develop important skills in a meaningful

These early experiences build problem solving skills, confidence, and curiosity lay the foundation for future learning in every selfch check. Do you like writers workshop? >> We say yes to writer's workshop in preschool because it encourages young children to express their thoughts through drawing, storytelling, and early writing. We hope this video brought a smile and gave you a glimpse into the rich, purposeful learning happening every day in our preschool classrooms. It's a wonderful showcase of how we bring
020the vision and mission of the Mayfield City School District to life while nurturing our youngest Cubs. Thank you for your ongoing support in helping our young learners grow, explore, and thrive. I hope you enjoyed the video. I just want to thank everybody so much. if our staff could stand up so that we can give them a round of applause. Students and for each other most importantly and so I think that's really important to recognize them and thank you all for coming and we're so excited to see what happens at the Maple Preschool 2026. THANK YOU. UH, MRS. RUCHI, thank you. Uh, to the staff of the preschool, thank you for what you do for our youngest learners. Um, it's great to see these students today be being honored. Uh, congratulations to the students, to our
021staff that was honored today. Thank you to the Lions and Mr. Ferinachi, if you're still back there, thank you for your support. Really appreciate it. Great job. Um, and uh, keep it up. We really love what what you're doing. if you don't mind kneeling down with the kids and with the video. I'm glad to see our treasurer said he likes math. >> So before we uh take a break and do business, I want to get to community communications real quick because I think we have an important uh speaker here to talk from the library. Uh we don't have anybody that has requested to uh speak here tonight, but they register to talk. I'm gonna have Stephanie Fino and Ariel Marberry come up. They're the children's services supervisor, student success manager of the Kyl County Public
022Library. Thank you. >> Hello. Thank you for having us. So, I'm Stephanie Forino. I'm the head of the children's department at the Mayfield Library. Some of you might have been there before. This is Ariel Marberry. She is our student success manager of Tyra County Public Library. So, she works out of our administrative building. She is in charge of our student success centers, our one research programs and other student success um programs that we have here at the home library. So, we're here today to talk about resources for educators and for your students. So, Ariel, would you like to do educators? >> So, briefly, I will have some flyers as well. Um, but we have a ton of resources for educators, including educator cards, so you have additional permissions to check out extra items, uh, LinkedIn
023learning, some information, literacy lessons, um, also bookable kits, um, bookable toy kits as well. So, if you're doing specific lessons in the classroom and there's something sensory or we just have a ton of things on the website, so you can actually book those with your library card, um, which have been very useful for a lot of educators. And then also CC fail for schools which is slightly different this year. So um I'm coming out to PE days to just kind of advocate for some of the programs and registration um for youth and also for our student success center. >> Oh yeah, sure. Yeah. >> So our student success centers, we have 12 different locations. One of them is at the Mayo library and it's a roll in roll out K to8 homework help program. Um,
024and so we are looking for our team leaders that may want to volunteer to help the youth K2 uh with reading and math. And then also if you all have any students okay to age that would like to utilize the center, it is open. So friends, >> yes. Um, as of right now for the Mayfield Student Success Center, we have 32 students enrolled, which is awesome. Um, and that is for grades K through eight. So, your preschoolers next year, if you want to have a little bit of extra academic help or enrichment in certain activities, we have it Monday through Thursday from 4 to 6:30, a time that works best for you. And we have educators and tutors and volunteers there that will help you with your student. Um, we would love some more team
025volunteers, though. Um, some other team volunteer opportunities that we have are um our book sales that we have. um every couple of months. Our last book sale, we actually had 20 volunteers, all Mayfield students. So, we always share our opportunities with the uh the guidance counselors at the Bay School. So, keep an eye out for that. We also have a chess and checkers club that is monthly for students. So, if your teen is really interested in um chess and checkers, that's another great opportunity. And then we also have a monthly program called Peter Countdown. This is great for kids that are going into kindergarten. So, preschool families, if you're looking for a little extra um bump in your kindergarten readiness, it's Mondays at 6:30 once a month. Um and so then there's also the team
026volunteer opportunity where you get to help set up, you get to help run the program with our program person, and then also help clean up. So, it's a great opportunity if you're thinking about working with kids in your career. So that is kind of we have also a little brief update about what's going on at the library. We did have a really successful Cubs club event the other day with the preschool at the library even though it was a really bad weather day was like the snowstorm happening but uh it was a very successful and um really good for the coast. So that's >> just just one of the things I want to quickly mention that LinkedIn learning not even just for non-educators if you have a library card you go onto the website get
027LinkedIn learning there are many online classes you can take there's a vast um range of things that you can take so get a library card if you don't have it look up LinkedIn Learning on their website it is unbelievable what's on there for you to educate yourself with that maybe you were afraid to look at and it helps you get some classes for yourself. Uh thank you for uh the partnership. We appreciate it. We're going to take a break now. Five minute break. We're going to get to business. So if you need to go welcome have a great holiday get back on here. Um president's announcements. Don't have any uh of what I've said tonight. So, superintendent's announcements. >> No announcements, Mr. President, other than happy holidays to everyone. >> That brings us to board
028committee reports. Mr. >> Um, yes. I just wanted to let you know that I was able to attend um an OSBA meeting of addressing student barriers to learning um down in Columbus. And once again, it was just very reassuring how far along we are and how um how corporate is doing. Some of the speakers that were there uh were talking about things that that we know that we do on a day-to-day basis. Uh, one of them was addressing um, addressing and understanding student barriers uh, and how to have the hard conversations which is something that we not only need to do within our staff but our students as well to take a deep breath, stay in the here and now and move on. So there were three speakers. It was great to hear really reassuring
