Thank you so much for coming. We initially wanted to start tonight at 5:00, but because it's Cleveland, sometimes it can be 80° in the fall and sometimes it can be rainy and cold. So, we thought we would do a little mock um ribbon cutting of our playground. Mrs. Blango took last month pictures of our playground. We wanted Special gratitude to our board and our colleagues up at central office who put a lot of time and energy into ensuring that our kids have an exciting playground um so that we can be safe and have lots of fun here at Milidge. Um we have tons of great students and staff to recognize this evening. We also have three staff members who are retiring this year, one of which couldn't be here tonight, but I did want to
recognize two of our future retirees, Sherry Valentino and Michelle Fortuna, who have been here for so long that it only felt right that they have one last rod to cut our ribbon. So, if we could please welcome them up. The keys to the kingdom with a smile. >> Yeah. >> No, they're good. >> YAY. And then boys and girls, we are going to invite you up to say the pledge of allegiance together as we get our board meeting started. And then at your parents' discretion, you are welcome to go outside. We have the piccolo food truck out there. Um, you will have to purchase your own dinner, but you guys can eat at your parents' discretion. And you can also feel free to play as long as your moms and dads are okay with it.
Okay. But before we do that, do you guys care if we kick this off with our kiddos leading the pledge? Perfect. >> All right, boys and girls. Why don't you guys come on right up to the front >> in front of the banner over there, >> and you guys are going to pick us off. >> Perfect. I'll have them wait. >> Hang tight one second, you guys. We're going to open the meeting and we're going to do the >> Okay. Well, welcome everybody to our 22nd board meeting. >> Mr. >> Here, M >> here. >> M >> here. >> Mr. S >> here. >> Mr. Ty >> here. >> Now we are ready for the >> right. Please stand for the flag. The flag up here to the flag of the United States of America
and to it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all the cats have their first game tonight and we're going to do our best to keep um our time of things rolling but Mrs. Wango and I are incredibly lucky to work with an incredible group of uh teachers every day. Teachers, paraprofessionals, reset staff that keep our building flowing. The custodians did an incredible job setting up tonight. Our secretaries made sure that everything looked pretty and we could not do what we do with our students if it wasn't for all the help that we have every day. So, before we do anything else, I just want to thank all of our staff that came here tonight. We know it's time away from your own family. And being a new mom myself, I
know that that's very precious. Whether it's a family with a doggy or a kitty or your own children and husbands and wives at home, we can't thank you enough for prioritizing this. Um, so if you guys can all join me in just giving a thank you to our staff for all that they do. And then we're going to call D'Angelo Freeman. Come on up. Okay. All right. D'Angelo Freeman is a first grade student here at Milbridgeidge Elementary. He exemplifies what it means to be a Mayfield Wildcat and more specifically a Milidge Mustang. D'Angelo demonstrates roar, respect, ownership, attitude, and responsibility every single day. He consistently shows kindness to others, gives his best effort in the classroom, and leads by example through his positive attitude and willingness to learn. This year, our district district theme is
start with yes. D'Angelo says yes to learning, yes to doing the right thing, and yes to being a role model for his classmates. His teachers describe him as a student who lifts others up and embodies the true spirit of Milrich. Congratulations, D'Angelo. Thank you for showing us what it means to start with yes as a Milri Must. And just so everyone knows, if we're recognizing you, please hang tight because we want to get lots of pictures, but we're going to recognize all of our people and when we go on a little break, we'll get all of those photos to commemorate this very special event. Ar, come on up. This is Arjent Dusa, grade four, here at Milidge. Arjun Dusa, a fourth grade student at Milidge Elementary School, exemplifies what it means to be a Mapfield
Wildcat and a Millidge Mustang. Arjun lives for our Millidge values of roar, respect, ownership, attitude, and responsibility. Every single day that he comes to school, he approaches challenges with a growth mindset, shows kindness, and respect towards others, and takes ownership of his learning with focus and enthusiasm. As Mrs. Swango said, "Our district embraces the theme, start with yes, and Arjun models what that looks like with action." He says, "Yes to trying new things, yes to persevering when learning feels tough, and yes to being a supportive classmate and friend." His positivity and determination make him a shining example of what it means to lead with heart and purpose. Congratulations, Arjun, and thank you for showing us what it means to serve God. All right, Lizzy Nicholls, WHERE all right, Lizzy Nichols is a fifth grade student
at Milidge Elementary. She exemplifies what it means to be a Mayfield Wildcat and a Millidge Mustang. Elizabeth demonstrates our Milriidge values of roar, respect, ownership, attitude, and responsibility in everything that she does. She is a thoughtful leader, a kind friend, and a dedicated learner who consistently gives her best effort and encourages others to do the same. In keeping with our district theme, start with yes, Lizzie says yes to leadership, yes to challenging herself academically, and yes to making a positive difference in her school and community. Each year, Lizzie takes the lead in planning and organizing a food drive for our entire school to support the Cleveland Cleveland Food Bank, inspiring her classmates to give back and showing what it means to lead with compassion and purpose. Congratulations, Lizzie. Thank you for showing us what it
means to start with yes as a Millidge Mustang. Um, and then they give us, my colleagues up here give us the incredible challenge of only honoring three students and two staff. So, we found a loophole this year and we said we're going to do two groups of staff because we have so many people here that we have to celebrate. So, the first group that we want to recognize are our recess paras. If the three of you could please come up and JOIN US. WE HAVE Julie Peninszone in the middle and we have we have Cat Lupal right up here and then we have Becky Lampro on the end and I'm going to read what we grow but I just have to say recess is it's a challenging task because you have to go out in
the rain, you got to go out in the snow sometimes you let your thing in. Um, the kids enjoy recess, but it is their only opportunity in the day to just go outside and do what they want to do and be kids. And these three ladies have handled that responsibility with such grace and character um, and really just exemplified what it means to take care of our community um, when we're not just in the classroom. So, thank you guys. It's a hard job. We know it is and um, we're expecting you to stay for many years. Um, we are honored to recognize three exceptional members of the Millidge Elementary team. Mrs. Becky Lampro, Mrs. Julie Gibzone, and Mrs. Scott, who serve as our recess pair professionals each day, regardless of the weather conditions. These dedicated
professionals are outside ensuring that our students have a safe, structured, and positive recess experience. Beyond supervision, they cultivate meaningful relationships with our students, fostering an environment grounded in respect, care, and belonging. Their ability to manage challenges, support student interactions, and resolve issues proactively means that most situations are handled with grace and understanding long before they ever reach the office. Their calm presence and commitment to student well-being exemplify the heart of our school community. On behalf of the entire Milri staff, our families, and our students, we extend our sincere gratitude to Mrs. Lampro, Mrs. Pzone, and Mrs. Lucl for their steadfast dedication and the genuine care they show every student every day. >> Congratulations, you guys. >> All right. And then grade three team if you guys could all come up. So unfortunately not all of
them could be here but we are so fortunate that many of them could. We're missing Mr. Ralph Palama who coaches she can come up. Oh she um Mr. Ralph Palma's coaching tonight. And then we have um >> Mia, who is Caitlyn Moore's substitute. She had a commitment with some wedding stuff going on and then Miss Moore had a baby. And Mrs. Grantham is at her own child's assembly, which is why the three of them could not be here. Um but we have this incredible group in Mayfield. One of the things that we try to do is utilize an approach called teaming, which calls us to really embrace the idea of all of our students are all of our students. Whether you're a paraprofessional, a teacher, a custodian, a police officer, whatever your role is, all
of our kids are our kids. And this third grade team has really genuinely just exemplified what that means to work collaboratively and ensure that our kids get everything they need day in and day out. So, we are proud to recognize the grade three team at Milidge. Mrs. Kristen Bars, if you can just wave when I get to you, Mrs. Alice Bartel, Mrs. Marsha Brandenburgg, Mrs. Danielle Granthms, who was who's with her child, Mrs. Christina Lee, Mrs. Caitlyn Moore, and Mrs. Petro. Again, I already chatted about them along with Mr. Palma, Miss Emmy Rossky, and Mrs. Melissa Ward. This team represents what it truly means to be allin. Regardless of their title or role, each member of this third grade team is fully locked in to the collective mission of helping our students grow and flourish.
Their collaboration goes beyond lesson planning or daily logistics. It reflects a shared commitment to every child's success and a belief that together they can make a greater impact than any one person alone. Through their use of professional learning communities, their grade three team consistently engages in meaningful conversations around student learning, intervention, and instructional planning. They analyze data. They celebrate progress and design intentional supports that meet students where they are to move them forward. Most importantly, they care deeply for their students and for one another. The unity, professionalism, and heart of this team that they bring to their work embody the very spirit of Milbridge and Mayfield. We're grateful for their dedication, their collaboration, and their unwavering belief in the potential of every student. Congratulations to all of you for your dedication, commitment, and accomplishment. Uh
that concludes our recognition. We do want to grant some of photos. Um >> well, let's one second. Uh congratulations to our three students, uh D'Angelo, Arin, and Lizzy. We're going to take a break. So, please stay on take some pictures of your families and Dr. Barnes and then the staff too. Please stay around your certificates. Congratulations. Thank you for your dedication. Take a break now for about five maybe 10 minutes and then the kids back. Thank you everybody. >> Thank you. >> Great video. >> Thank you. >> That's the quickest I've ever spoken in just >> the quickest I've ever done that. I'll see you guys. Bye everyone. >> So that brings us to our community. you contact the court office. We didn't have anybody fill out a form for us. We will the side.
