So welcome everybody to our Wednesday meeting here. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Yeah. Heat. Christ University first presented to us at the USC conference. And each word has to contribute 100 points at home. And now I have total 600 words to achieve the award. And it does have to be in very specific categories. And the two things that really struck me is how many of us all work together on something. So that isn't necessarily true with other boards, but it is with this board. And the other thing was how we screen our list was for going to conferences and having events to uh try and get rid of barriers to academic learning. And those two things are just so so key. It's not Ive [applause] to see the number of hours put in outside This
is Are you sure? So we start recognition of students and staff and then we have a short so first call on. So this evening we are proud to recognize Amelia Carter an outstanding fifth grade student at East Elementary School. Amelia is being honored for her hard work, leadership and positive contributions both inside and outside of the classroom. Amelia consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to learning setting a great example for peers through perseverance, curiosity, and a genuine love of school. Beyond his achievements, Dorian shows kindness, integrity, and willingness to help others, making a meaningful impact on both peers and teachers alike. We are proud to honor Dorian for his accomplishments, and we are incredibly proud of him, and we look forward to seeing all the great things he will continue to do. Heat. Heat. One power. Unfortunately for us nominations so many love. So this evening we are proud to recognize Marsha an exceptional
second grade student. She stands out for her enthusiasm for learning her positive attitude and the kindness she shows her classmates every day. Even at such a young age demonstrates responsibility, respect and a strong desire to do her very best. Whether it's participating eagerly leaving class, supporting her peers, or showing perseverance when faced with challenges, Marsha exemplifies what it means to be a role model student at we are so proud to honor her tonight and to celebrate the many ways she contributes to making elementary school a wonderful place to work and grow. And then we have two staff members, two exceptional staff members I should say that we would like to recognize. So we're going to start first with Miss Kimberly. Oh, [applause] so this evening we are proud to recognize Kimla, an outstanding third grade
teacher at East Elementary. Kim exemplifies the very best of what it means to be an educator, bringing passion, lots of patience, and creativity into the classroom each and every day. She has a remarkable ability to meet students where they are and to guide them forward. Nurturing not only academic growth but also confidence, character, and a love of learning. Whether it's through engaging lessons, strong relationships with her families or going above and beyond to support her colleagues. She consistently makes a lasting impact on our school community. 006invaluable member of our school. As a professional and busy custodians elementary school, she consistently demonstrates dedication, compassion, and a true commitment to student success. Peggy plays a vital role in supporting both the teachers and students. Her patience, encouragement, and positive spirit create a safe and welcoming environment where students can truly thrive. [applause] I know you're here. Heat. Heat. [applause] I just want to thank because I want to give a shout out to a lot of Heat. [music and bell] [music]
Heat. [music] [bell and music] Heat. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] [bell] Heat. [music] Heat. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] >> [bell] [music] >> Heat. Heat. [music] >> [music] >> Heat. [music] Heat. >> [music] >> Yes. Yes. The Heat. Heat. It's my honor to share the 2024 high school which affirms that this year overall five stars Great. to put that in. Only 47 [applause] rating. In terms of achievement, performance index score continues a steady climb 96.4 this year, bringing up the top 20%. Over the past 3 years, RPI has scored by one of the three points outpacing many awards. But behind the numbers is even more important. More than half of our students scored a love version and nearly onethird scored index shows clear evidence that legal students are making more than the world breaking us in all
the highest students. We also earn five stars in gap closing providing that our commitment to equity is translating into results for students across all demographic areas. Our graduation rate continues to shine 98.5%. Business leading among the top in Northeast Ohio. In terms of college, career and workforce military readiness, 76.5% of our students are prepared for the next steps. We already know this will be better next year. Finally, in early literacy, we improved this year to super important state civil and powerful truth. Mayfield is preparing students not only to succeed but to excel. Behind every number is the dedication of our teachers, the resilience of our students, and the support of our community. Tonight, I want to thank all of you for being part of the shared commitment to excellence. Thank you. Heat. Heat. Yes. >>
Yeah. Yeah, almost. [applause] Any idea? and our teachers to really find creative ways through the club which he's going to talk about to engage our children and get them ready for our course. So we want to give a big thank you to our boards for supporting this initiative cuz all we're already doing our superior work. is so important to us as an organization that we continue opportunities for growth development and club is our so we um for those that don't know I'm principal preschool and he's the principal of we partner together to work on this initiative club and really this is the only initiative like this in Ohio happening anywhere in Ohio is our community is being offered is for anyone in the community zero through H5. And so we partner with Brilliance which is
a resource that families will have free access to. So we I know. Heat. Heat. [applause] We have accessible for anyone in the community with zero children zero. We've been around fires. We hire over 20 teachers to serve our leaders [applause] question. Um, so it's really truly one one of the most, you know, valuable things in connection for the start school. Our big kickoff is October 15 at the building center. The invitation is posted everywhere for welcome anyone children is here. Um so far we have over 100 families registered for the event um October 15th at their kickoff. We have a monthly um meeting for families every month at a different location either in the community or in one of our schools so that families are seeing bring them to all the different buildings. We also
partnered with Stephanie from the library who's been a tremendous resource for us. They've been promoting this as well. They have it on all devices in the library. So families can be able to access that. Um and so one of our events for families will be in library. So, um I think just one other thing I add is if you have a friend, a neighbor, uh younger sibling, anyone who's high range, please encourage them to come out and benefit from this. As Vicky said, we are one of the only districts doing this in Ohio. Well, in the country, we're one few, but we're the only one in Ohio right now is committed to something like this. And I think that really again stands out to what our community and what our family means to us. Whether
you choose a field as your place of service or a private school, wherever you decide to go, we want to be here to build that foundation for our children for a successful K12 experience that starts right. So, thank you very much. And and just to put in perspective, you heard how we report card, but we have kids coming. We have 50% of our kids are coming to us ready for kindergarten. Only 50%. I think what we can do is more of our kids are ready for kindergarten. So that is the goal of that of this initiative is to have kids coming to us ready kindergarten. We're just going to we do that. So we reach out to all the community preschools and the preschool directors and here this week we have um some of the
preschools in our community the children that they have there who have access. We've already set them up. they're meeting with um some of the preschools to get their teachers out and they were super excited to have this opportunity to collaborate with field. So um it truly is takes all of us to do this and we're really excited. Um we will be on October 15th at the front center [applause] across all the states and different countries. you have one of the most elite uh leadership teams that I working with and so you guys very proud of this this team is a a reason why you have the scores you have and stuff. So I just wanted to say that because it's been a long honor to work with you guys. [applause] this down. I just appreciate
the effort here is so important as a foundation for children to come to school and be able to read all about third grade. uh this will be engineered and you know not taking the fact that a br is uh really tough overall but we're not sitting on our hands we're using emerging technology to bring access to our babies 5 years old here in this community and as I said whether they come to us or choose another alternative this is about community so thank you for your work thank you around what I was like. Yeah. Heat. Hello everyone. I'm the children's department. Um I just wanted to come and give some updates about what's been going on in the library. So last time I talked to you guys was about um suning. We visited all of
the schools. So I have some stats about um how that went. So last year we had a 25% increase in total participants which is awesome. And uh so the goal for reading was 50 days of briefing over the course of the summer. And last year we had 17,000 total days long. This year we had a 37% increase of 23,000 gates log. So we killed our goal. We wanted to hit 20,000 and we did better than that. So kids are reading which is very very very exciting. Um so people were loving that. Um this uh year coming up we had an art show that we're collaborating with the preschool. It's called um Scribbles Sketches. those preschool and some of the sixth grade students. So those sixth grade art as well. So it's going to be um
the office October 11th and it is going to be um from 2 to 3:30 Saturday. Um so you can come. There's going to be refreshments. We're going to have a fun little art piece that people can work on. So, and we're going to have the art display for two weeks and it also runs concurrently with the adult art show that we have going on with Mayfield Village. Um, it's a annual art show competition that we do with them. That's October 12th through the 26th. Um, so you can come and see the arts by all the residents as well as the students. So, um, yes, we love each. So, let me start. Um, yes, we are part of the Cubs club, which we're very excited about. Yes. Um, so, uh, our library event will be on
December 10th from 5 to 7. So, same thing. Come in, drop in, learn all about the things that are going on at the library. Um, we're going to be focusing a lot on our circulating joy collection that we have. A lot of people don't realize that it's something that we offer. You can check out toys just like you would book. We get everything from toy kitchens to um Yeah. [applause] Heat. General All right. Congratulations on that. reach out. Also wanted to make a comment and congratulate Scott and his team on your investments financial report. Oh, [applause] sorry. Well, not much anymore. Okay. Second M. Yes. M. >> Yes. M. >> Yes. Yes. M. Yes. 56. >> Yes. M. >> Yeah. M. >> Yes. April first. Welcome. Yes. That's pretty. Yeah. Financial. >> Yes. M. >>
Yes. pro. >> Yes. Mr. >> Yes. Ma. >> Yes. >> Mr. H. >> Yes. And good. I see that the service second. Yes. M. >> Yes. Mr. Yes. years down your forecast for the time needs to be submitted on this year's October 15th and then May 31st uh early towards the secondary uh date. Now it's going to be next week um August 15th which is awfully early and then a uh 28 national day. So that's just two changes. However, what we're seeing this evening and what we're presenting will be forecastly the current budget year. It turned into the very first day I was where we got the fall July 1 to June 30 years by September 30th statute the board passing budget which is a cluster of all funds in a moment but I think
it's important to identify all that the fact that I do this alone and I work very closely along with all the staff including uh the building leaders as you can tell with Muchi and Miss Sony's presentation energy there how she best match the desires of her reality resources so I think that's where conversation so it's interesting we'll be discussing next year's budget so we So then next up classifications primarily general fund if you go to the next page those fun are for example the general fund has 86469,65 62 for this year. That's a 4 and 12% increase over the prior year. And fiscal inflation budgets inflate by 35%. So that but you can see all the other values with the other funds. So overall all funds this year's budget 146 million 496,367. We're a fairly
large sophisticated organization in terms of what we provide education because there's a lot of pieces and parts. U moving down I just want to tie the budget then to the financial projection. So I highlighted the general fund expense projected 86 million and what you're noticing then in the projection that 86 million46963 is the expected operating expenses within the the current year estimates as we project forward you can see we get positive cash balances we do begin to suffer a little bit of distress I say a little bit it's uncertain but as well in the future a lot of things can change between now our paper and below that indicating power still under the 40% tax cap was contemplated in 96. So that's something to just be aware of next proceeds. We're very thankful that we
passed last November are included as well as a number of other uh assumptions that are along with the forecast. So page I think as you mentioned it's pretty good and so questions after that this is the basis of and then finally I charts within those eight classifications just to identify where all these live tomorrow internet facility improvements from years ago. Um but finally the um what I call the federal aid plus special is a federal grant and in that you'll see no longer as serious to the pandemic those monies are all that question and you can see about $2 million federal dollars um that come in this district all those And all those research focuses on any detail because most deals go without socot. House 96.7 billion education. I read that just the summary of
that report. It's a little bit confusing because I think what they're going after is the um districts are that are called 20 and this impact appraisal where essentially this lowle threshold might see that increase 21%. Uh so that and basically using when they say background go historically we're able to restrict it moving forward we're not we haven't been district 37 we're not going to see that at least for so I think they're trying to again 186 and I'm hopeful without seeing all the detail they said there's uh 7 70% of districts are actually part of that other% so I still think you pay attention certainly I agree and it's projection starting >> when they c said essentially two years allocation they want us to negotiate now at least war and we also have folks on
us you know our third our name great. Thank you. Second M. Yes. Yes. Mr. President. >> Yes. This is our third budget year plus three years of projections only forecast second we're still showing assumptions so that any kind of change in um in your Okay. Yes. M. >> Yes. >> Mad. >> Yes. Second. Yes. Yes. Mr. President. >> Yes. Mr. President 2025. >> Welcome. Yes. >> Yes. >> Okay. Thank you everybody for uh all your presentations. Uh Mr. President German for approval. >> Second roll call. >> Mr. Brown. >> Yes. M. >> Yes. >> Mr. Jose. Mr. >> Yes. And thank you. Good job.
