junior high baseball coach. And then action item B would be if we decide to hire one, hiring one. Do I have that right, Craig? >> You are correct. And uh I believe Jeremy Bob is already there volunteering. Um but uh being that we have 32 participants, I would make the recommendation that we uh have him as a paid coach, which I guess you would do an A and then B would be actually hiring Jerry. >> Okay. So >> yeah, A would be the to approve the position. >> Thoughts, questions, comments? >> Okay. Derek, would you like to make a motion? >> Sure. >> All right. Derek makes a motion to approve that position. >> Julie seconds it. All in favor say I. I. All oppose say no. Motion carries 6. So B should go well.

Then this would be hiring Jeremy uh to fill that position. Melissa makes it. Please second it. All in favor say I. I. All oppose say no. Motion carries 6. Okay. So, action item C, this would be the authorizing the renewal of the expiring operating referendum, right? >> Yep. >> At 460 per student for 5 years with the option to down the road if we need to increase that. And you're comfortable with that, Barb? Is there any more discussion or comments on this? I do I I just think that this not a whole lot of comment on you guys voting and stuff, but I think Craig, wherever that is that how you can compare, you should share that out to everybody because I think it would be good to be on people's radar early as um

just as a principle when I think of when we're talking about these bonds and stuff like that. And I asked this question early on, you know, going out, you know, doing the bond or operating levy, I just I don't think we're that far removed from needing more resources to do a really good job in our schools. So, for what that's worth, >> which we could still do down the road is ask for more. This is just >> Yeah, probably the wrong time. No, no, >> that's I don't think you're far off, but I I >> renewing it doesn't change the ability for us to come ask for more at some point. >> Yeah. Be way too confusing to try to do it all at once, don't you think, Barb? >> Right. >> Okay. All right.

Would anybody like to make a motion to pass that resolution? Derek makes it. I'll second it. So Derek makes it. Mike seconds it. All in favor say I. I. All oppose say no. Okay, that motion carries. 6. Where am I? Okay. So, that's all the action items, right? So, we're off to administrative reports. Mr. Bowler. >> All right. >> Made a little cheat sheet here today. Uh, so we just finished or are almost finished with MCA readings. I haven't seen any of the scores yet >> for a long time because this is >> it's the MCA 4 instead of the MCA3. So like the science test. When did we get them? November. >> September. So anyway, so we're not going to see those. We have two left at the middle school high school that need

to test. We do math testing on Thursday and next Tuesday as well as the high school science. and then eighth grade takes it within their class usually windows a little bit longer for that second test. We're getting up to that point where we're doing lots of field trips and I want to thank all of our community members that have given to help make these possible. Sixth grade's going to the capital gym uh on May it's a Friday May 15th. Eagle Bluff the 13th um through the 15th. The ninth grade has a field trip coming up early May. a busy time. Um, also it's a hard time staffing wise. We have a lot of people that are out of the building and using their PTO before the end of the year and all that good stuff.

So, uh, I'm still working on evaluations. I know that our deadline is next Thursday, Karen, and I haven't forgotten that. So, we'll get all those uh, taken care of. Master schedule, we did share it with the high school uh, and middle school staff today. our latest draft. Our goal is to get within the next couple of weeks to get schedules in students hands. Um there's a lot of moving parts with that, especially when we start talking about shifts and reductions and all the parts that go with that. Uh we do have one position left to fill at the middle school high school that we interviewed for last week and I'm hoping to fill tomorrow, you know, as soon as I can. Neighbors day was supposed to be last Friday. We ended up postponing because of

the uh the weather and so I'll be reaching out to Carrie and getting that scheduled. I'd like to wait till after we finish this next round of testing. Uh a big shout out to Fisher Clock as our top-notch teacher at the JDC. If you saw that on the news, they just Sorry about him. You don't even see I forward you the link, but just kind of a cool little shout out to our staff. And then finally, uh, this Wednesday is a district day and a shout out to all of our staff that work very hard behind the scenes. So, um, yeah, just wanted to acknowledge everybody. That can be a little nudge for some other people. So, that's what I have. >> Cool. Thank you, Mr. Bowler. Any questions for Mr. Bowler? All right, Mr.

Walstrom. >> Okay. Um, I have a bunch of things written down here as well. And I did bring a spreadsheet with most of our field trips. It is definitely field trip season. We have some MCAs and some testing to finish up. Um, after that, I'm going to go down our list. Um, kindergarten goes to the Calonia Pool Park. Um, first grade goes to lacrosse to Spring Brook Park and Train Park. Um, second grade does the Owl Center in Houston and, uh, the WL Archaeology Center as well as Train Park. Um, third grade, high rollers. Fourth grade, uh, neighbors day coming up on we rescheduled as well. Friday, we're going to clean up the gazebo park. They do that every year. Um, farm safety camp at the Houston County Fairgrounds. And I think they have one

more that might not be on this list right now. Um, fifth grade, Niagara Cave. And some of the fifth grade students go to Beaver Creek State Park and or um actually this year they're going to what's the jump place called in? >> Jump Park in Lacrosse. So um things >> that's the safety patrol group that does that. Um school things coming up. Spring concert May 7th, grandparents day May 8th, field day May 15th, and then at the end of the year, fifth grade graduation and awards day. Um, other than that, planning, it's it's crazy to be planning summer stuff already. Um, planning summer work already. Um, looking at doing some uh professional development with our teachers revolving around our PBIS program. Um, you've you've heard a lot the school board has heard a lot about

literacy and reading the last couple of years from the Read Act and things of that nature. So, it's it's almost refreshing to bring up that Nathan and I are doing work getting ready for the new math standards districtwide. Um, so I should say statewide, but making plans for um, you know, paid work hours for teachers this summer to start um, reorganizing their uh, lessons and curriculum to align to the new math standards that we're kind of in the transition phase next year. And then the following year is the first year that you'll hear about uh, a new MCA test that is aligned with the new standards. Um so yeah, a lot of work goes into that. Um extended school year targeted services essentially. Um in common terms that's like our summer school programs. Some of

it is tied to special education, some is not. So all of that work, I mean it's just wild the end of the school year for teachers and anybody who works in a school. I don't know how one prepares for how quickly it's like all of a sudden it's just here. So pretty wild flew by >> four Mondays Friday. >> I know it's a lot of work to do. >> It is crazy though. Every feels like just not just last week we were coming on the first day of school. So um anything that I missed? Does anybody have questions? Elementary for me. >> Yep. Yep. It was it was posted. Um we have two positions posted right now. One of them is uh elementary teacher. The other one is special education teacher. Uh yeah, I can

give you more information on that. >> Yep. Yep. So >> cool. Thank you, Mr. Wallner. >> Yep. >> Mrs. June. >> Yeah. That's been occupying my time the past few weeks. I'm hoping to wrap up all reading test tomorrow. Only finish out and then everyone math kind of starts this week and next um for both buildings. So getting that going and May 1st is the deadline for that. So it'll be a busy couple weeks to make sure everyone gets done. Um we had our SAC site review last week. We have our CACFB site review for the daycare on Wednesday and then just a lot of summer planning and planning the meals for the daycare and staffing and while people take vacations and that. So yeah, busy time but >> questions for Miss June. >> Mr.

Turkey. >> Um, thankful to say that we submitted our ASMR budget and it's the second year of the grant cycle, so we should be fine with that, but I get nervous every year that they're going to say no thank you. Um, might have to worry more about that next year. I don't know what uh what they're going to do with the ADS budget. That's been one that's been on discussions for being on the chopping block, but we'll see about that. Um, both the elementary and high school have been completing all their safety drills and done. You done? >> I think we're done, too. Yeah. >> Okay, awesome. Um, I've been participating in a lot of different meetings. Um, the Capy Read Basics I'm actually kind of excited about. Um, that's that's one where we're going

to get another tool in our tool belt to see what kids need and then hopefully provide that for them. Um, a lot of lot of meetings. Uh, we we recently contracted with Frontline for Appllet uh to try and uh get more make things a little easier for the applicants to apply and hopefully that will increase our number of people that apply for our positions. Um, attended the 299 Foundation Fund Night. That was a great event. again. Um, other than that, been doing some work with Sue and her people and headed in the right direction. >> Any questions for me? All right, Mrs. Meyer, >> wrapping up studies. Um, we'll be approving a wellness policy that we have to have in place for our food service review for next year. We may pass some websites um

to make sure we have those pieces in place. So, we'll pass a review. We continue to work with Sanders and I on the daycare. We may have one session or two sessions left and was able to get a grant. Oh, >> you want to add into that what you were planning to >> Yeah, we got a grant from the county to spend on just random updates, I guess, for um the daycare as far as like we can get a new washing machine with it. um we can get from hopefully odor eliminating trash cans um just some little things like that to um new rocking chairs that don't fall apart when you rock on them and things like that. So um yeah, excited about that. Hopefully tomorrow finalize everything we're going to um we're going to

health and safety meeting this morning. We have a new breath. Her name is Becky Fitzgerald replaced Dan Fitch. Um there's some work being done on Cedra which is our special ed reporting and then starting to do work on the 26 27. >> Questions for Barb. >> Thank you Barb. So the old business item would be the facility planning with Sue Peterson. Do you have like an an hour brief that you could give us? started. >> Yes. >> Um, so I guess it boils down to whether or not we move forward um with the two ballot thing or we still could theoretically wait until May and still be on timeline, right? >> You could just less. >> Yeah. So, it sounds like Chad was on board from our phone conversation and um I Julie's on board,

I think. And so, what do you guys think? Should we just vote tonight and just do it? >> Two two question. Okay. >> Make a motion. Just a motion. >> I'll make the motion to do a two-part question. >> Okay. Derek makes the motion. Lee seconds. Is there any other anything else we need in there as far as verbiage is concerned, Karen? Or >> I would just say just to direct the review and comment to direct the submission of the review and comment with the two questions as discussed. >> You don't want to put words in your mouth. I think I >> She did. what she said. >> Great. You would have said it just >> Karen, are you comfortable with that? >> I'm fine with that. >> Okay. So, Derek made the motion. Lee

seconded it. All in favor say I. I. All oppose say no. Okay. Motion carries five to zero. No. >> All right. Uh, so the new business item, this one, >> this one we may not need because we were I mean if you want to move the meeting, um, I was thinking I would wanted to move it so I could be here and I we still could move it to to June 8th if you want me to be there, but I'm going to be in Canada on June 15th. That was the reason for it so that we could make sure we met this timeline. But being that we've already >> decided to do that, it's not critical to move it, >> Right. But the June one is not not critical that Craig's here for it because

we just made that decision, right? Okay. >> Can we just scratch that new business a off the hit list? Okay. School policies. Whitney. Uh, Whitney, just so you know, I don't know if you're familiar with this, every so often we review all the different school policies just um we do it periodically throughout the year so we don't have to review them all at once obviously because there's so many of them. So, we just take them in bite-sized chunks. All right. The only question I had was on this school wellness policy. It the Can you click on that once, Greg? Then scroll down if it opens. >> Well, if you >> It might be on a different tab. I don't mean to eat up too much time on this, but I just there was uh it

said in there is that all beverages and snacks or something had to be aligned with a certain standard that I've never heard of the standard before, but like does that mean the vending machines are going to get gone through and >> they already Oh, >> certain things that you just have to make sure you meet the sugar, salt and so that's why like middle high school the vending machine bottom two rows are bubblers those can't be sold during school hours are off the machine on >> the bubbler can't go during school hours no >> ah okay >> so >> disregard my previous question >> well I mean it's a good question but everything that's in this policy is already compliant our our vending machines are pretty complant with this. >> Uh I got then then

is there any more any questions comments about any of this stuff? >> All right. So we don't need to they've been reviewed. Uh and then the school board member reports. Does it Melissa? Do you have anything? Whitney, do you have anything for No. No. I I just had two quick things. The committee assignments. Now that Whitney's here, I tried to work things around a little bit. So, it kind of leveled everything out. So, now everybody's on either six or five committees. There wasn't much changes. It was just um uh kind of fitting Whitney in to kind of level out the playing field a little bit. And if you have any questions on any of the committees, Whitney, feel free to reach out. And again, a lot of them they're not like meeting monthly or anything

like that. So it's >> Did you put Is she on count? No. Melissa, >> I haven't seen anybody on >> and HF. Does anybody want to do HF? >> You're doing well with Oh, I'm doing great, huh? All right. >> What ones did I don't have that in front of me. What ones did Whitney join? Okay. So, Whitney is on uh community advisory council that meets uh three times a week. The Houston County Collaborative as an alternate uh meet and confer, which when's the last time there was a meet and confer? >> We've only had one in the last eight years. >> Okay. So, you're probably not going to have to do that. And then um support staff negotiations. We just >> got done with that. So that won't happen again for several years. And

the curriculum PSO online learning committee with Chad and Julie and that's as needed type of thing. So So that you they you being contacted obviously in advance if there was a committee meeting or something like that. they get you up to speed on it. So anyway, that's that. If anybody has any problems with that, we can certainly shift people around or whatever you want to do. But right now, is that anybody cool with that? All right. And then the strategic plan I want because Whitney probably hasn't seen this yet. So I had coffee turn it off for everybody. One note there. Goal number three says the uh C appendix A for the uh community outreach by project by Grazo. I forgot to send Karen appendix A. So that didn't get printed in the thing. So,

I'll email you appendix A so you have at least have that strategic plan and maybe like come July or something we can go over it because then we'll be a year out from its end point or whatever. What do you guys think of that? Julyish maybe talk about it again. That's all I had. Would anybody like to make a motion to Well, is there anything else that anybody wants to mention, comments, concerns? Nothing. All right. Would anybody make a motion to adjurnn? Lee moves it. >> Second. >> Derek second. >> All in favor say I. I. >> All oppose say no. Motion carries 5. It is uh 603 append.
