So, I don't think I need to read all of those, but again, this this is part of uh I think policy and law that we establish a pattern of board meetings uh that uh for the year
011so that the people know. And I don't believe we have to do any of that other than just announce them. >> Uh but it was recommended so it does have to be as we voted on. >> Okay. Number nine, yearly procedures >> So I think we need to vote on that one cuz it was recommended by the board. So I think we have to first and second and vote. >> All right. I couldn't remember what we did. >> Mr. Wright. >> Huh? >> On number eight. >> Yes. >> I'll make a motion. >> I'll second. >> Mr. Mason. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Warner. >> Yes. >> Mr. Hofer. >> Yes. >> Mr. Lance. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Froelich. >> Yes. So, um January is deemed um uh board member appreciation month and it gives us the opportunity to recognize the group of these individuals who are sitting here with us right now. Um and their service is usually done very quietly, but whose impact is felt every single day. You know, serving on the Board of Education is definitely not easy work. It requires time, it requires courage, and a deep sense of responsibility. Our board members make decisions that affect the children, families, staff, and the future of this community, often without recognition and sometimes under criticism. Yet, they continue to show up prepared, thoughtful, and committed in doing what
018they believe is right. What I admire most about this board is the heart behind the work. These members care deeply about the students, our staff, and this community. They listen, they ask the hard questions, and they wrestle with complex issues, and they lead with integrity, even when the path forward is not clear or comfortable. On behalf of our students, our staff, and our families, I want to thank each of you for my heartfelt thanks. You know, thank you for the sacrifices that you make, the hours that you give, because believe me, it's more than just sitting here for an hour meeting. There's times that we're on the phone endlessly. The care that you bring for every decision, >> [clears throat] >> your service matters more than you know, and our district is stronger because of
019all of you. Please join me in thanking the aboard of education for their dedication, their leadership, and their unwavering commitment to our children and to our community. [clears throat] And um while I loved my career as you know, high school principal, teacher I equally have enjoyed doing this because I feel like I'm still still with the
020kids and still with the teachers and so forth, and I thank the community very much for the election. So, thank you. Dave. >> I want to say thank you to the community for electing Cynthia and Chad and Kelly. Welcome to the board. Now, roll up your sleeves. Um it's an interesting ride. It was like an old Navy commercial. It's not a job, it's an adventure. And it it truly is that. And I'll get into more things later with legislative there cuz there are some things coming down the pike that will not be uh that are very concerning, but welcome. Thank you. Me? >> Mhm. Uh short and sweet tonight. I just want to thank everyone for the election. Um more so for the levies passing than myself being on the board. I I think I
021said as the election was coming up, if you had to pick between voting for the levy and myself, please vote for the levy. It just so happened I I snuck in in third place, so uh so thanks everybody, and uh ready to get to work. >> Um welcome to both of you guys. Um Congratulations to being reelected. Hopefully have a good year this year. That's all for me. >> Well, I guess I would just like to say you know, I appreciate you know, people believing in me and who I am enough to vote me on to a position like this. I will do the best of my ability. I'm Springfield is my home and always has been. So um I will certainly try to you know, make sure that everything goes in the right direction
022and I'm looking at you know, for assistance from you guys because I'm freaking steak and new. I don't even think I deserve this right here yet. >> [laughter] >> Oh, you will. >> So >> That's a pre pre award. >> award. But thank you. I do appreciate that. Thank you. I look forward to this year. I we had a great board up until December and gosh, we have another great board going forward. So thank you. Our next item is approval of minutes. It's recommended that the board approve the minutes of the regular meeting of December 16th, 2025 as shown in exhibit one. >> So moved. >> Second. >> It's been moved and second. Mr. Adams? >> Mr. Vice? >> Yes. >> Mr. Hofer? >> Yes. >> Mrs. Foral? >> Yes. >> Mrs. Warner? >> Yes.
023>> Mr. Lance? >> Yes. >> Motion passed. At this time, citizens comments on agenda items are welcome and the only thing we ask is that participants, would you if you have comments, go the lectern and give your name and address. Any citizens comments? Okay, moving on then. Uh payment of bills. These are the monthly bills and it's recommended that the board approve payment of bills for the month of December and pending audit and again these are provided to us in exhibit to the board members in exhibit two. >> So moved. >> Second. >> It moved and second Mr. Adams. >> Mr. Hofer. >> Yes. >> Mr. Mason. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Frawley. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Warner. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Frawley. >> Which one do you want me to call? >> Sorry. >> Mr.
024Lyons. >> Yes. >> She's good on straight down. I like to mix it up. >> Motion passed. >> [clears throat] >> It is recommended that the board accept the financial reports from the treasurer for December 2025 and those were provided to uh or those are exhibits three, four and five. >> So moved. >> Second. >> It moved and second Mr. Adams. >> Mrs. Frawley. >> Yes. >> Mr. Lyons. >> Yes. >> Mr. Hofer. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Warner. >> Yes. >> Mr. Mason. >> Yes. >> [snorts] >> Motion passed. It is [snorts] recommended that the board accept approve the following personnel items. 10.1 Accept the retirement resignation of certified employee Aaron Francis effective March 1, 2026. Accept the resignation of certified employee Monique Pentea effective December 20, 2025. Accept the resignation of classified employee Jessica
025Lane effective January 16, 2026. 10.4 Approve the adjusting the hours of the office assistant position at the Springfield administrative building and preschool center currently held by Tatiana Clasha from hours two out from two hours to 3.5 hours per day and that would be effective January 5, 2026. 10.5 Resign employee uh classified employee Tina Tina Hedrick as a 2.25 hour educational assistant at Spring Hill Elementary per the negotiated agreement pending proper licensure effective January 5, 2026 and this is uh to be in addition to her bus driving position. 10.6 Employ Emily Ross as a classified substitute per the negotiated agreement pending proper licensure and pre-employment screening effective first day assigned. 10.7 Employ Jada Fox as a 100% art teacher per the negotiated agreement pending proper licensure and pre-employment screening and that would be effective the first
026day aside. 10.8 Approve adjusting the eighth grade girls basketball head coach supplemental for the 25-26 school year to be a split contract. Kevin Hannah presently 10% is that is to be split between Kevin Hannah and Miranda Terry. 10.9 Approve Cain Rock as a volunteer wrestling coach for the 25-26 school year pending proper licensure. >> So moved. >> Second. >> So um Erin Francis who's going to be retiring March 1st. Erin began her Springfield career in 1994 teaching fourth grade at Lakemore Elementary and during her time here at Springfield she taught second grade at Lakemore and Young before moving to Schrop where she taught fourth and fifth grade. Um Erin also coached volleyball as an assistant coach for three years. Monique Fantia she resigned December 20th. She was hired as an intervention specialist tutor for the
02795-96 school year and the next school year she was employed as a fifth grade teacher at Lakemore and then during her 10 year she taught third, fourth, fifth, sixth reading and art at Lakemore, Young, Springhill and Schrop. And we thank them for their service here at Springfield. >> Thank you. >> Mr. Mason >> Yes. >> Mrs. Warner >> Yes. >> Mr. Hoverd >> Yes. >> Mr. Glantz >> Yes. >> Mrs. Roll >> Yes. Motion passed. >> [clears throat] >> Excuse me. Um moving to college credit plus memorandum of understanding. Um this is 11.1. This memorandum of understanding is with Kent State University. It is recommended that the board approve a memorandum of understanding with Kent State University for the College Credit Plus program for the 25-26-27 school year. >> So so moved. >> Second. >>
028And this is just one of our memorandums of the different colleges that we have that we do CCP with. And so you'll be seeing them coming throughout the year. >> The four or five now? >> Um sorry, >> We have four or five colleges. I know Akron, Kent, Stark. >> So we have Akron, Kent, and Stark are typical ones, but we do have other ones that come in including Tri-C. We have college down near Cincinnati where we have someone who does online with them. So we have we have our basic three, but it does expand from there. >> Okay. >> Any other questions on this? >> Mr. Rowland? >> Yes. >> Mr. Lance? >> Yes. >> Mr. Hofer? >> Yes. >> Mrs. Warner? >> Yes. >> Mr. Mason? >> Yes. >> Number 12. It is
029recommended that the board authorize our superintendent and administration to join the newly formed athletic league. The name of that would be is to be determined yet. Beginning with the 20-20-27 28 school year. And that was provided in that. >> So moved. Second. >> So uh I think we are the last school to approve it. So coming out this week this press release is going to come out. It just simply says the Springfield Local School District is pleased to announce that it will be joining a newly formed athletic league beginning in the 27-28 school year. The league will consist of eight schools: Ravenna, Springfield, Crestwood, Rootstown, Mogadore, Southeast, James Garfield, and Waterloo. Uh we're thrilled to be entering into a new athletic league that will provide meaningful benefits for our student athletes, schools, and communities. One
030of the most significant advantages of this new league is reduced travel time for all the member schools, allowing students to spend less time on the road and more time focused on academics, family, and rest. Getting students home earlier from athletic events reinforces the importance of academics and the overall student well-being. This league also allows us to renew and strengthen local rivalries, fostering school spirit and community engagement, while competing against respected neighboring districts. The league structure provides a more size-appropriate, competitive environment for our student athletes, helping ensure positive and balanced athletic experiences. In addition, the local nature of this league's of the league is expected to lead an increased local media coverage, further highlighting the accomplishments of our students and schools. This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and collaboration of each and
031every superintendent and athletic director from the participating schools. Their hard work and commitment to what is best for our students made this opportunity a reality. Springfield Local Schools is very excited to be renewing local rivalry games and competing with our respected neighbors for the foreseeable future. We believe this new league represents a positive step forward and will greatly benefit our student athletes and communities for years to come. Uh we have been meeting. We've had about five, six meetings so far, and we've got a lot more coming up. We're um now looking for a commissioner and a uh scheduler, and just creating um >> [clears throat] >> a format that is going to keep our kids safe and yet competitive. So, do you have any questions about the new league? >> Do most of the schools
032have the same programs that we have? >> As um yes, everybody has something that everybody has um a couple of schools have um one school has swimming, one school has girls tennis. Um >> Lacrosse. >> And one school has lacrosse. Uh some of them might not have golf, but we've created and we've created a uh um uh with our great golf coaches, we've um created a different uh teams that we play against for golf. And everybody I think has bowling, so yeah. So. It's good. >> Furthest travel. Furthest school out of that eight would be Crestwood? >> Crestwood. >> Which is 30 5 minutes or so? >> So what we did is we took all the we took all the uh time that we went to the schools that we have now compared to all
033the times that we're going to travel with them and it came out to be I think probably about 25 minutes uh less time travel. >> Obviously Cloverleaf and Streetsboro were the two furthest now. >> the furthest, right. >> Okay. >> You know, so now that we've got Mogadore, that you know, and >> Changing James Garfield, where is that? >> That's um out in a um >> By Hiram, that way. >> Oh, up towards Garrettsville. >> Yeah. >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> Okay, that's what I thought. >> And we're the only one not in Portage County, right? >> Uh Mogadore. >> I know. Oh yeah, they are considered Summit, right? Okay. >> Right, so that's why we're we're we're we're we're we're pondering the name right now. So we're >> I saw a couple things online
034and then it was Portage blah blah blah and I'm like, "Okay." >> And no, no, I think I think it's it's going to be something either the greatest like the GPAC like the Greater Portage Athletic Conference or um the GPC, the Greater Portage Conference. Um you know, looking at something like that. >> So needed a needed conference because the the three new schools we brought in for next year we're not we're not in not in their class we're not in their their size competition and it just it just makes it harder for us to compete so I think this will I think this will be a good group. >> And and I think you know one of the things we talked about too was like the safety of our students you know and and you
035know I mean there's going to be times when with illness or whatever that you might not be able to to fill the full team or what you know so we've already been talking as superintendents and as athletic directors you know we're not going to as somebody did against us two onside kicks the first quarter after they were beating us like 45 to nothing you know we're going to have some you know rules and one of the things too is our commitment to this league. I think we're committing anywhere from 5 to 8 years so we know that that because superintendents are going to change and we want to make sure that we keep this strong. So. So we're we're excited we're excited it's it's it's a good group of of um athletic directors and superintendents
036that know each other and trust each other so. >> Good. >> We're good. >> Thank you. >> We're looking forward to it we tried to get it started next year we tried just couldn't do it. >> one this one intermediate year is going to be a little little weird but we'll get to it. >> We'll get through it we'll get through it. >> Any other questions? >> Mr. Adams. >> Mr. Mason. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Warner. >> Yes. >> Mr. Hofer. >> Yes. >> Mr. Lance. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Foral. >> Yes. >> Motion passed. A number 13 >> [clears throat] >> excuse me it is recommended that the board approve a revised 25-26 school calendar that reflects an adjustment in preschool conferences and the high school schedule for February 24th, 2026 to accommodate the
037ACT testing. >> So moved. >> I'll second that. >> So what this is is number one we did adjust the preschool conferences, but the big thing is ACT day. So on that day um it only affects the 9-12 students. Only the 11th graders will be coming in to take the ACT because it usually takes all the rooms and a lot of the teachers to do the monitoring and the you know the giving of the test and everything. And with kids with extended time it's not a set where we can just do the morning and have them come in the afternoon. So we want our students to be successful on that. So the high school 9-12, so the 9th, 10th, and 12th graders will not have classes that day. >> And am I correct in remembering
038that the ACT is Ohio funded? >> Yes, we do yes. Yes, so every student in Ohio gets to at least take it once for with no cost. >> And that day it'll just be Springfield students, no outside? >> Yeah, just Springfield students. Yes. >> Okay. >> Yes. >> Melinda Weakland is the one who um and Mary work on the ACT. So >> Any other questions on that? >> Okay. >> Mr. Adams? >> Mrs. Froelich? >> Yes. >> Mr. Lance? >> Yes. >> Mr. Hover? >> Yes. >> Mrs. Warner? >> Yes. >> Mr. Mason? >> Yes. >> Okay, motion passed. Um Number 14, resolution of intent with the Ohio Facilities Commission. It is recommended that the board approve a resolution of intent to participate in the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission Expedited Local Partnership Program. And we'll
039explain in just a minute after we >> So moved. >> Second. >> So um I'm going to let Dustin talk up for you. This is something that is offered um by the state to take a look at our buildings and just it's given to uh all the schools are allowed I mean it's offered to all schools just to uh take a look at it and um see >> [clears throat] >> what their assessment of our buildings are. Um Dustin, do you want to say anything else? >> No, this just gives us will help us create a master facilities plan update that. We had a partial one with the construction of the 712 building. This will um renew the look at all the facilities and create that plan um to give us more information about how
040to move forward. >> But it doesn't um it doesn't tie us directly to that. It that will be a board's decision a community decision what their recommendations are and who to go with. Whether it be with the OFCC or design build on our own. >> Correct? >> Thank you. >> And these are just recommendations. There's nothing we're not obligated to move forward to do anything. It's >> No obligation. No, it's just kind of and this we are not up for funding at this point in time. This expedited program gives us the ability to get an early start on that planning portion there to just see what needs come through that process. >> Well, it's good it's it's good to see uh that's kind of my background industrial maintenance and uh maintaining things and there are
041some specific needs and I'm curious to see what they come up with. So I'm all for this evaluation. >> And you know, we're starting this now because we know that it takes a very long it it's it's it's a long process. >> Yes, sure. >> I mean it's not like I'm going to and then there'll be a school [clears throat] tomorrow. It'd be nice if I could do that. But uh uh >> We'll get you one of these if you do. Would you? I'd like that. But so we want to make sure that you know that we we start getting all the information that we can so we can start presenting it and having community involvement and if this is the direction that as a district and as a community that we want to go
042to. So we want to make sure we cross all our t's and dot all our i's on this. >> I just want to I think we should emphasize this is information gathering. >> Yes. >> That's what we are doing. >> Yes. >> It isn't planning. It isn't You know, there's not a proposal that can be stuck in. It is just information gathering to share. >> Tell us what our buildings needs and >> We we just had a committee of community members and school school officials that went through all the buildings and looked at is this going to be tied in with that? Are we going to take what they had and look at this also? >> Yes. >> Yeah, that committee is ongoing. We're still continuing to to meet. We have gone through all the
043schools. Our next um next meeting is at the transportation depot to talk about that and our fleet there. So the committee is ongoing and this will tie in with another perspective from from the Ohio Facilities Commission as to what we've seen and see give provide their input to that process. So I think it ties along nicely. >> What's the time frame on this group coming in? >> Um we didn't discuss I I think just the initial getting them in here to start evaluating hopefully within 6 months. Um it's not expected to be a quick you know, I mean it's this is going to take some time. >> Okay. >> Mr. Mason >> Yes. >> Mr. Hoford >> Yes. >> Mrs. Warner >> Yes. >> Mr. Lance >> Yes. >> Mrs. Forola >> Yes. Motion passed.
044Moving to 15. Uh it is recommended that the board approve a resolution with Stark County Schools Council of Governments cooperative to advertise and receive bids for 272 passenger conventional integrated school bus units. And the information on that is in exhibit 10. >> So moved. Second. >> So um Dustin, you want to talk about what this is? >> So this is just participating in the bid to advertise, do the bidding process since school buses are a expensive item, you know, and absolutely um require going through the bid process. So the Stark County Council of school governments will go through that process for us. We're under no obligation to purchase at that point. We believe we're probably in the market and we'll, you know, look at that through our capital planning committee and and so forth, but
045this is just to get that process and participate in the bid and receive pricing. Once we receive that pricing, we can decide whether or not we move forward. >> And that'll be something that the committee that we just talked about that's going to that's going to be talking about the fleet during this time. >> The local committee, not the Ohio >> yeah, yeah, yeah. >> And where did Stark County come in, not Summit like is that >> We also participate in a Ohio Schools Council um that locally I I'm not aware of any Stark Summit County cooperative that [clears throat] that does school bus bids, but Stark County does and then more statewide the Ohio School Council does, which will also tie into that to see where we can get the best pricing. >> Any
046other questions or comments? >> We'll all be happy to get two new buses whenever that happens. >> Yes. >> Mr. Adams. >> Mrs. Frawley. >> [clears throat] >> Yes. >> Mrs. Warner. >> Yes. >> Mr. Landis. >> Yes. >> Mr. Mason. >> Yes. >> Mr. Hofer. >> Yes. >> The motion passed. Uh number 16. Another memorandum of understanding. This one with Springfield Township. It is recommended that the board approve a memorandum of understanding with Springfield Township to establish a cooperative shared services arrangement whereby the district will provide the information technology IT services to the Township. >> So moved. >> Second. >> Mr. Bostock. >> Um so we have come to recommend this memorandum of understanding. Um we're working with the Township as we do on many projects. This one a little more formally to provide
047the IT services there. They will be picking up the cost um salary benefits all all fringe costs there for 50% of our one of our technicians which will allow us to bring that technician from a part-time to a full-time status there in order to provide um these services. Um you know, it as far as shared services and trying to make the most of every taxpayer dollar in the in the community um here, you know, rather than the Township replicate a full technology department there, we can you know, we have the knowledge and the staff here that we can spend and they're still going to have an on-site person who's going to be is like semi-retiring so gain some local knowledge there to help us out get our um bearings around there and everything, but I
048think it'll be very very beneficial. Um there's a lot of flexibility here that you know, it's um as far as we might be down there, you know, part of the week and here where we're going to keep track of hours, but based on what we've seen, the 20 hours per week should be very sufficient to provide the tech services for them and and we're able to retain staff through that to bring that person to full-time. >> Okay, so just to be clear, our medical benefits and retirement are covered under the shared cost. >> Yes. >> Thank you. And this is currently a part-time, so it's not increasing our costs or savings, correct? This is just >> No, this will pretty much be a wash as far as or will be a wash. >> Going from
049part to full-time and >> Yeah, cuz they'll be they'll they'll be picking up the additional 50%. >> Okay. All right. >> Questions? >> [clears throat] >> Mr. Adams? >> Mr. Mason? >> Yes. >> Mr. Warner? >> Yes. >> Mr. Oberwerk? >> Yes. >> Mr. Land? >> Yes. >> Mrs. Frawley? >> Yes. I guess it's a good idea. Um over uh a 17.1 overnight extended trip. This uh this involves sixth graders. It is recommended that the board approve an overnight extended trip for the Schrop [clears throat] sixth grade and chaperones to travel to Camp Widewater from May 5th, 2026 through May 7th, 2026. Two school days will be missed and all expenses will be paid through fundraising and by the participants. >> So moved. >> Second. So this is uh Mr. Burns is bringing back uh
050I don't know when the last time that we had outdoor ed. >> Um well, we've had a version of outdoor ed, but last time we've had it be overnight it's probably been 10 years ago. >> Oh, my. So So it's going to >> be exciting for the kids. >> know it's pretty nice the program that they used to put on because we did used to attend there. Um, the the kids used to be able to do some really fun things. It was it was definitely a good time for them. >> Rain or shine, it's May in Ohio. >> Rain or shine, snow or sun. >> Okay. >> [clears throat] >> Mr. Mason. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Warner. >> Yes. >> Mr. Hofer. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Varola. >> Yes. >> Mr. Lance. >> Yes. >>
051Motion passed. Thank you. At this time, [clears throat] Treasurer's report, Mr. Adams. >> Uh, I'm going to revisit what I put up last month, but I I made it a little I tweaked it to make it more user-friendly. Basically on the bottom. These two charges, as you can see on the top, it's related to what we spent. And now we are at the halfway point, okay? Meaning we have six months of actuals. So I wanted to let you know where we stood. Now, the red's a budget and the blue is the actual. So on personnel services the budget is 14 and this it's a big one on the bottom, okay? It's 14 million 81,690. Our actuals through six months is 13,971,390. Pretty close. Now on the benefit side the budget in the red is 7,327,123.
052The actual is 7,385,871. And like below, and you'll have the this is in your packet. So, if you add them all up together, since one's a little good, one's a little bad, those two categories are pretty much even so far. And our goal is to keep them that way for the expenditure side, cuz we can control, as we all know in school finances, the expenditure side somewhat. It's the revenue side that's given treasurers a lot of fit around the state because of all the changes that are coming down the pike. Mr. Hoover will explain some of those things, what it's doing to some districts around us. Uh we anticipated these changes months ago based on the We had a meeting with uh Jack Daniels and his the other gentleman, Dave. >> Steve Thomas. And based
053on what they were saying, I kind of had a feeling that these things were going to happen, and they did. And our governor signed it. But but on the expenditure side, uh things are as expected. I guess that's the best way to say it. >> [snorts] >> Okay? >> Any questions? >> And in the future, anything changes substantially, okay? Even if it's I find out in the first 1 or 2 weeks after a board meeting, I'm going to send this to you with the next explanation. This plus a narrative to say, "Uh-oh, this is going on, so we might see a a change." Just to keep you posted. >> Thank you. Central office report? >> Thank you. Keep a short update. Just thank you for approving the memorandum of understanding for the Township tech services.
054I think that just continues our projects working together like our shared fuel depot that we have with the Township and the village there. That's been a great project that we started a few years back. So, hopefully this will follow suit and continue to um first to work together and provide uh those savings across the across the Township and village there. So, >> Just as a reminder from the human services side, we have some open positions. Uh we are interviewing right now for teaching assistant positions. Um but we've also posted starting to hire for not only for the finishing of this year as you saw Aaron Francis was leaving on March 1st. Um so, we are looking for someone to replace her. In addition, we are looking for extended school year people and we are starting
055to think about hiring for next school year to replace people who have already given us their notice of retirement {slash} having fun. >> And while Mary's working on hiring new people for next year, today I sat at the junior high and high school, met with a group of teachers that we started talking about some plans and some reorganization potential for some special education programming. And I plan to do that also at the two elementary buildings as the spring semester started kicks off here. >> Well, hard to believe it's the third quarter. I don't know where it's going. It's it's uh it's crazy. Um I would just like to take this opportunity to in this moment um to publicly thank our basketball coaches, uh Kevin Nash, Jeremy Miller, Derek Garber, and Paul Miller for their quick
056thinking and their immediate response to a recent medical emergency involving one of our players. In that moment when every second truly, truly, truly mattered, they acted with calm, professionalism, and genuine care for our student that was in front of them. Their actions very much likely prevented a far more serious outcome as told to us by not just the EMTs, but the doctors at the hospital. Um you know, this is a powerful reminder that our coaches do far more than teach the game. They serve as mentors, leaders, and protectors of our students. And we're incredible We are incredibly grateful for their for for their preparedness in handling a situation like this. You know, you study for it, you learn for it, but until it is really given to you right in front of you, you you
057don't know how you're going to react, and they reacted just what they were trained to do. Um you know, and their leadership under pressure and their unwavering commitment, you know, for the safety and well-being of all our students. So, um a very much local shout out to Kevin Nash, Jeremy Miller, Derek Barber, and Paul Miller for for what they did for our students. We're forever grateful for that. >> I heard about it. I That's very scary for anybody to who's that's not their profession every day to have to jump in and do that is extraordinary. >> And and and they and they really worked as a team. One took over this, one did you know, one one started a um [clears throat] uh Jeremy Miller started CPR immediately. Kevin ran, he got the AED, and
058and uh um handling all the external. Uh Derek was on the phone with uh um with uh uh 911, and Paul Miller there I mean, so they all worked just together as a team to save a life. >> They did. Thank god. >> You know, so it was You're right. in the district. >> Our student is well, he's He wishes he could be back on the basketball court playing, but yes, he's he's doing well. So So we're we're we're forever grateful. >> He's probably out for a little bit, I assume. >> Yes, he is. Yes, yes, yes, he's not going to be playing anytime >> [clears throat] >> soon, but uh um It's it's a wow. It really is. It makes you just makes you appreciate you know, for what you have. It really does.
059Huh? >> Do you have anything? >> No, I'm good. I talked a lot today. >> Well, you're you're not tired. Okay, I moving on items worthy of your our note. On January 19, Martin Luther King Day, no school. January 22 and January 29, uh both days are preschool conferences. And February 16th is President's Day, no school. February 17 is our next regular Board of Education meeting, 6:00 p.m. Uh right here in this venue. And um I think those are all that we have. So, are there any citizen uh comments participants um anyone want to say anything about anything? Doesn't have to be a uh a board agenda. >> I mean on the >> the uh agenda. Okay. At this time then, if I see none, uh it's recommended that the board go into executive session
060at this time to review negotiations with public employees and consider employment of a public employee. Motion? >> To go in. >> So, moved. Second. >> Moved and second that we go into executive session. >> Mrs. Broler? >> Yes. >> Mr. Lance? >> Yes. >> Mr. Ober? >> Yes. >> Mrs. Warner? >> Yes. >> Mr. Mason? >> Yes. >> Okay, we are going to motion passed. We'll go into executive session. Upon return, there will be no uh board action. So, um >> We're going to be meeting in Mary's room. >> And thanks to everyone >> Yeah, Mary's office. >> You're done. >> And you're done. >> I'm 67. What does it look like? I'm 63. Okay. >> Yeah, I'm going to go over a couple minutes. It doesn't say 4 and 1/2. >> No. No, these
061the 64s are formatted for our cameras. And the 32 >> 32? Are is that the formatted FAT32? >> No, that that the that is formatted for the camera mode. >> How did you clean it and how did you format it? >> On a computer or did you put it in >> No, I did it in the cameras. >> Yeah. >> Uh no, let me I've got a I can do it on my laptop. >> And what does it say? >> It says JVC. >> Yes, that's correct. Yes, I think you have to the bottom of this. >> Well, I can and and the reason I do that is cuz it won't allow me the 64s >> Yes. >> They're in there. They're all formatted, but they're formatted for our cameras. It won't allow me to
062format it for FAT32. Say that again. Run it through my brain again. The 64s says Our lap my my laptop, and your laptop, and they all run at Windows 10. >> Yes. >> It won't allow you to go factory two on the 64s. But it will with the with the 32s? >> Yes. >> The 32s, they all format at at factory two. >> Okay. >> Because as soon as you stick these uh in factory two is no longer available. Of these discs, unfortunately these discs I because you told me that you have a place to get them or you have you recycle? >> No. >> It's going to be some for for so many days. Oh, these are these are already used. >> What's the one? >> Oh. >> Is that your church or >>
063No, no, there's No, it it it's our stuff. >> I didn't think you reused them. >> No, these. >> No. >> You shouldn't have erased these. It's It's fixed. >> How did you end up with these? Shouldn't I have programmed them or something? >> No, no, you gave me this bag full of stuff in >> crates and before you left. >> So it was it it had a whole bunch of envelopes and I opened up all the envelopes and these uh like I said, these I think you told me that I thought you told me that >> Let me just look at this. To refresh my memory. July of 2020, I think. Edited out. This is my camera ready. I'm sorry for the camera loss. I think this is you gave me this bag and
064and and it had a whole bunch of emeralds in there and but I went through and reformatted all these and I think and they squeeze I can't be squeezed cuz I pretty well he can be using squeeze he can be >> but I have to go on the internet and buy replacements. >> The thing is buy them in the store. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Well, just put them back in there okay and we can we'll reuse the flash drives and >> Well, yeah, the flash drives are ready to go. >> All right, flash drives are ready to go. >> Should we put them in here, Jim? >> Yeah, that's what I figured. >> 32s and then the and then the bigger ones the flash drives on top. And hang on to those flash drives. Did
065you read my email to you about the email you sent Thursday? >> Yes. >> You understand where it's going to take place? >> Uh yeah, I was going to have to talk to you about that. Uh since we're going to be in that big room, you want to set up over here and stuff? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I think so. >> Okay. >> Yeah, it's so much better frankly. >> A meeting like this other than that we're just chasing it. This really this is That that single camera thing >> Yeah, try telling him you parked him right in the parking lot out in front of the main entrance, right? And it's that that that thing. First, that meeting room where they poured the cement leveled the flooring. Yeah. I'm disappointed. I would like to
066go to a different classroom. You know, and feature a different course. You know, the only thing we have once a month. Anyway, I'm disappointed. The bad thing about that Well, I went in the cooking They had it worse than normal. They had to get up. Yeah. It would be just as bad as the two other wireless mics. I should have never taken their word for it. They said they only work you know, you have You're only going to be able to set up on camera. And I thought to myself, this is what I'm talking about. Look at that. Couldn't you With your engine on couldn't you have figured out some place where you could sit that up? >> Oh, yeah. >> And the thing is that they're wireless. You know, you don't have run wires
067across the floor. You can just have them >> Yeah. >> It made a big difference here today in the control room. >> Well, yeah, you know, you change the orientation. >> So, what did you take again? >> Well, also I swung the unit around while I was talking. >> You can change the orientation. >> Yeah, I think you can do this. >> Yeah, but we didn't have >> Yeah, cuz it said it was sideways. There were There were many more people in here than usual. >> You think they absorbed the energy? Okay, the sound energy. >> No, no, it it it was losing uh uh contact with the Didn't I see the light on? but we when I swung it around squared it up so the energy it hits up it looks like it's going
068to me but you had to do that and what I'm going to do is and I think I got a couple of extensions at church and I'll look around more line extensions for my headphones I understand so you could sit here I have equipment so so you know all of a sudden you you know you told me to get all cuz I was listening cuz you know I'm happy here so I'm yeah I did cuz you know it's I mean it's way over there I'm here with the camera but if I if I you know put an extension on that and bring it over here I would realize that you know cuz it's like you know you said you know my drop down I'm like what and it did it did yes yes and then
069I got over there and looked and seen there it's like you know it's it's it's phasing in and out Jim do you need any new batteries for your your two wireless microphones over there I bought a whole pack here if you need any I think they're all good we we don't use them that much no we don't use them that much no we're good here right now okay oh hey did you check the the main trust box are they doing Facebook and YouTube over there yes >> Mhm.
