And I would like to say um I know they have uh state championship rings coming their way soon. We received a donation today from a Trotwood graduate um who owns Dirty Dog Pupp and Boutique and she set aside 10% of her proceeds for 4 days. She felt like she really wanted to give back to help the team celebrate. So
I'm just saying I I think she's um hopefully setting us off on a good track to be able to really celebrate the team. Right. >> Um and then also just saying as we move into next week, it's our chance to really show off um and hopefully then celebrate our academic performance as well as state testing starts. >> And that's all I have. >> Next on our agenda is superintendent. >> Okay. Just a couple items this evening. Um well, first I want to again um piggyback off Miss um Adams. our our our young men had an outstanding track to the state championship and we will all uh be leaving here shortly once we conclude to go over and uh participate in the celebration. We uh we truly hope folks you know come out like they did
uh for the game and and celebrate our young men. And you know to to kind of segue to the um the ring um purchases, you know, we we've been through this a couple of times. Uh we've you know this is we don't have to purchase nearly as many as we've done when we've had to done football when we had to do football. So uh I think we've gueststimated it right around $11,000 or so something around there. Uh and we've already started to get donations. Uh Miss Adams and I and Mr. Smith and Mr. McCrae are going to work on uh work on some letters of support uh that we're going to put out. make sure we get out to uh as many people as we can to ensure that not only the men get rings,
but the young ladies, the cheerleaders get they get little pendants uh that they can put on put on a necklace. So, we want to make sure that our our young people um our young people definitely uh have a token of remembrance of this uh of this uh of this event. And we've done that every year. And we've also just gotten the um the proof for the um the the big banner that goes in the in the gym. If you if you go in the gym, you'll see that there are three or four banners right now that highlight um our kids uh state championship runs. And we want to do the same thing with these young people. So, we got proof of that. We're working on that. But with that being said, um although we, you
know, we're excited and and and we're we're we're happy about our state championship, I am as and more excited about the fact that Tribal Madison City Schools has been awarded the Momentum Award in the uh state of Ohio. We are one of about uh maybe 20 or so districts in the state out of 600 plus districts that was awarded this award. Uh, and I'm going to be sharing this with the staff tomorrow uh via um via email blast. Uh, the momentum award is for districts and buildings that have demonstrated outstanding improvement in achievement while also continuing to show growth. The momentum award is for districts and buildings that have improved their performing ind in performance index by three or more points from 23 24 report card to the 24 or 25 report card and received
a value added progress rating of four or more stars. districts and buildings are not eligible for this award if they receive an overall five stars or have received a watermark on either 23 24 25 report card. So with that being said uh the entire district received the momentum award and the high school if you look on the back received the uh momentum momentum award uh with their um you know with their achievement of three and a half stars. So uh for me what this means is you know and and I share this in a in an email today and it is it's something that my uh my my grandfather used to say every race has a starting line >> and and for us uh this is a this is a starting line. We we see
that we have got some some movement. We're going to celebrate this. We're going to share this. But we are not going to bask in the fact that we just got some momentum. We need achievement. We need continued growth and we need achievement. So, while this is an outstanding award and we are excited about it, it's it's it's a starting point for us to finish and it shows for us to start with and it shows that we are on the move. We got to continue the things that we're doing. Miss Murdoch and her team have been doing an outstanding job. We got to get the right folks in here to support um to support our kids. And we have the ambition and the goal to be a three and a half star district in the next,
this is my my goal, in the next two years. I want to be I want three and a half stars. That's a whole another star that we're working on. If we can get this place to three and a half stars, if we can keep moving, then that means ultimately we can keep moving up. We can make the same type of progress. We got to keep pushing. We got to keep doing the things that we're doing, focusing on these researchbased these research base practices that we've implemented. Making sure folks are teaching the things that we that we have identified as them to be identified as the things that are going to help us move. Making sure our kids are graduating from high school. Making sure our kids are are achieving in middle school and elementary school.
So, with all that being said, this is good news, but I want to be able to bring you guys some great news in in in the time to come. All right. And then with that also is um my um April update. I did send everybody I believe I sent everybody um some information about the what went on at the middle school yesterday. It was on the 1st unfortunately and the meeting was on the 2nd, but uh as always uh just a list of all of the things that are going on in the in the buildings. Um the um the kickoff to um to testing is here as well. We'll start testing next week. spring testing. Uh we've got a couple different programs going on where we're kicking off. I know Madison Park and Westbrook are
doing some things in their buildings to kick off testing. Uh we're going to reiterate how important testing is, how important it it is for kids to get a good night's sleep, for kids to get a good good meal prior to coming to testing and making sure that our teachers establish the uh the appropriate and a conducive environment to testing for our young people. So, uh, we're excited about the testing season because that testing those those scores feed into stuff like this. >> And that that's why it's important to make sure that we, uh, that we we kick this off, right? So, testing cycle will go on for three weeks, three and a half weeks. So, >> yeah. The whole month. Yep. So, >> Yep. So, we start we start next week. So, we'll be blasting
a lot of information out about that, too. >> And I think that's it. Central State on the 11 11 to two. Uh we'll be sending some more information out about that as well. All right. You got any questions? Shoot me an email and uh I'll follow up. >> Thank you, Superintendent. Next, we have board comments. So, we're going to start with board member Eric, Mrs. So, um I just want to say congratulations to our board of our team as well as well as our high school robotics team. um on their win as well. And we congratulations to all the schools that are just truly doing the work. Um and I'm really grateful for our community vehicles that are giving back um to our school because that's just a good feeling to know that we are
just a part of a community that believes in supporting our children and supporting our school, especially in times like today. Um it's just a really good thing and I just want to say thank you. I want to say thank you um to the middle school for excellent skiing program um as well as Madison Park on their anti-bullying day that they held as well. So, it's just some great things going on in the district and I'm just happy um that all >> I would first like to say thank you all for coming out tonight, sitting here and bearing with us through all of this. Um, also I would like to say congratulations of course to our boys basketball team. Um, we are very excited to celebrate them, but also to our robotics team. And also congratulations
to Bo Phillip Philip Knight Jr. who won Mr. Boilian. He was awarded over $16,000 of scholarship and he is a Trowood Madison graduate. So um, soon to be graduating. So congratulations to him. Also, I would encourage parents to make sure that your kids are ready for testing. This is very important to us, to your students, to the district. Um, and I'm sure whatever we can do here to help or assist if you need it, um, the staff is here for that. And I just would like to thank our the staff, the teachers, um, janitors, everybody who works in the district, bus drivers who take care of our kids every day. Um, we would not be here if it was were not for the students. Um, and we would not be excelling if it wasn't for
the employees who work here, the staff that works here. So, as always, thank you. I am I am honored to just be a part of this. This is one of the best districts I believe in the state of Ohio. So, just kudos to them. Um, I'm excited about CSU preview day. I would ask any graduating senior to come out to hear about the good things also happening at Central State. Um, and that's all I have. >> And we are going to blast that out across the county. And I've also reached out to Allen County, Lima. I've reached out to their superintendent. He's sharing that out. He's going to blast it up down there. And then I'm working on uh some folks in in Butler and Hamilton County as well. We're going to try to send
that out to as many people as we can with regards to CSU. I'm sorry. Thank you, Mrs. Carrington. Mr. L. >> Um, I'll start with saying congratulations to the robotics team who's ranked in the top 50 in the world in robotics, the the 37th ranked robotics team in the world. And um I think that that deserves to be highlighted as much. We're celebrating the state champions today and that's amazing. They beat the number one and number two robotics teams in the world to win their last competition. So, just wanted to highlight that. Congratulations to the Charlewood Madison basketball team who because of who they are had to play the toughest schedule in Ohio. They play all around the region because we don't have a conference that we can play in and still was able to
navigate that schedule and be the division three state champions. So, we're always very proud of that. And I think most importantly, congratulations to the district, our teachers, all of our principles, and our staff because you just got designations from the state of Ohio about academic achievement. So, we have to make sure that we're saying that in light of all of the things that we're having to do to adjust to the changes in funding, we're still able to see improvement in our buildings. And then a special shout out to Mr. McCrae in Toron Madison High School for receiving that designation from the state of Ohio too. So that's all I'll say. >> Nice. Thank you, Vice President. >> I'm going to make mine short and sweet. Congratulations to the robotics team. Congratulations to our awesome basketball
team, our players, our coaches, our cheerleaders, our transportation people who have gotten them to and from those games safely all year and all season long. our athletic department. Um, congratulations on the whole district uh once again on the momentum award. We know this is not easy. As Mr. Howard says that he's looking for a 3.5 star, I think we can get a fourstar here in the next couple of years. So, I'm not only are we working off the court, we're working in the classrooms, too. Um, here at Trotwood, we have a reputation and people call us that we're all about sports. the momentum award, the robotics team, and all those things tell people that we are more than just sports. But today, we would like to highlight our basketball team and the hard effort because
it takes those young men and those individuals to have the grades to be able to participate in those sports. So, we'll take all of our w our wins. Go Rams. Well, you guys have said everything that I was that I was saying, but I just would like to say congratulations again to um our boys basketball team. The robotic team um to rank number 37 out of 1600 is phenomenal. It it is phenomenal. And so congratulations to the robotic team. I had an opportunity to participate yesterday at the steel night at the middle school and I was impressed. just to see. It's amazing how the young kids are learning and willing to demonstrate what it is that they're learning. So, I really appreciate that. I had a good time. Um, like everyone has already said, the
district and the whole, we are moving forward. We are moving forward and I am proud to be a part of the Ram Nation, a part of the RAM family. Um, I want to reiterate the CSU preview day here. I'm excited about that. I am alumni, so I'm very excited about that. Um, and I'm hoping that we have a great turnout for that. >> And go Rails. >> So, uh, real quick, the the robotics team and Chandler Moore, the wrestler, they will be here next meeting. >> Yeah. We'll be we'll be recognizing him next week. >> The baseball team is undefeated, too. >> Oh, baseball. >> Undefeated. >> I need nothing else. I need a motion to motion. >> Miss Adams. >> Mrs. Simmons. >> Yes. >> Mrs. G. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Currington. >> Yes.
>> Mr. Lumpin. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Cherry. Yes. Most passes. >> Right. There should be some chairs down in the front.
