Yes. >> Mrs. Cherry? >> Yes. Motion passes for the consent agenda. Next is our board report and we had a board retreat on March 18th, just

forformational purposes if anyone wants to speak on the board. Uh I felt that um it was very productive. Uh I like the new pressure and the information. It's always um good to be able to go back and kind of make sure that we are on track. Um so because some of the um get a little glory. So I like the way I like the the law part of it, the hot spots. That was most interesting to me and she kind of broke it down in layman's terms. So it was very beneficial. Um and Quinn did a good job as well. >> I would agree. Um I would just concur with what Dr. um Miss Finn said. I thought that it was very informational and informative and I also um would like to thank whomever um

Mr. Howard and M. Adams for the learning materials that they provided us. Thank you. I thought it wasformational. I thought it was a refresher. Um, I also appreciate them bringing to the attention um some of the dos and don'ts in our um executive session. So, and I just piggy back I I like the fact that they actually did their homework. They actually went out and brought in our Trotwood, our codes and our policies. So, made it very applicable to us. Um, often trainers will just will do a general overview, but they made it specific to us and that's really I I appreciated that. >> Any other comments on board retreat? >> It was too early. Aaron did not like 8:00. So, next time I would suggest we have it at begin at 9. >> I

just I just want to point out that the facilitators also believe start at 9. >> We'll start it at 9 next time. It was good information. It was always good information. >> Next on our agenda is the treasur's report. >> I have several items for you tonight. The first one is the approval of amounts and rates for the tax year 2026 2027. And you have um the attachment for that in your folder. Each year the county auditor sends us um the collection rates for any previous levies we have on the ballot. We have bond issue. We have different things there. >> You don't have a folder. >> I'm sorry. >> Mr. Howard has a folder. >> That's okay. >> It was it's attached to the agenda. So it's the same one that you got on

Monday. Thank you. >> Um I apologize. Um, so there's a a each year the every every board has to approve those rates so that um the county can collect those taxes. So that's in your folder and then also a copy um of the resolution that I will sign after our vote tonight and send back to the auditor's office just saying that this board says yes, please collect those taxes for us. Um so I am asking for approval of that this evening. Do I want to vote yes on that? Do you have any questions for the uh the rates for tax year 2026 2027? No questions. I need a motion. I'm motion. >> Yes. Mrs. Currington. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Giz. Yes. >> Mr. Lumpin. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Simmons. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Cherry. >>

Yes. >> Motion passes for the approval of item B. >> Um I'm also bringing the approval asking for approval of amended appropriations. We did this last month as well. We received our last payment for Salem Christian Academy. So we um you have in in board docs the attachment of the amended appropriations to reflect that amount. So I'm asking for approval of that this evening. Are there any questions? >> No questions. I need a motion. A motion. >> Second. >> Mrs. Simmons. >> Yes. >> Mrs. G. Yes. >> Mr. Lumpin. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Currington. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Cherry. >> Yes. >> And the last thing I have for you this evening is the approval of our February 2026 financial reports. We did have a finance committee meeting um this evening. We reviewed these there

and so you have three reports there. One of them is our cash reconciliation report and this is the report um that lists our bank and investment balances and our our balance in our financial system. So our PNC general bank account balance at the end of um February and I apologize I have the January report in my hand. We did review it at finance committee. does match the um the bank balance and the book balance are the same. The other piece I have there for you is the checks over $1,000. And so every month we bring to you the checks over $1,000. Um we reviewed those at finance committee this evening as well. We noticed that um I just pointed out to some of them we we had gotten a little behind in some of our

payments. So a couple of those you'll see dup it looks like duplicate payments possibly, but it's really two months in a in a row. lumpy as an example. Um so you'll see that there. And then um the third report is our cash summary report and that is the report that lists our um not our cash summary, our spending plan summary that lists um our spending for the month of February compared to what was in our forecast. So I am asking for approval of those reports this evening. Are there any questions for the financial report for February 202? >> Yes. Mrs. Simmons? >> Yes. >> Mrs. Currington? >> Yes. >> Mr. Lumpin? >> Yes. >> Mrs. G. >> Mrs. Cherry. >> Yes. >> Thank you. >> Next on our agenda is the superintendent's report. >> Thank

you, Madam President. I do have a couple items both for action this evening. Uh the first uh with uh a lot of um a lot of praise and happiness. We have a individual Mr. Ray Bradshaw >> who is a um he is a referee here in the uh in the Dayton area and also ref rep some college games. Mr. Bradshaw has donated $500 for the purchase of 50 student tickets for our boys state semifinal basketball game. >> Uh so what we um we have decided is with these 50 tickets we are going to put um 50 kids on a uh on a spirit bus and send them um to to the game tomorrow night. And Mr. Bradshaw says when we win, he's going to donate another $500 >> uh to uh to for tickets for

for an additional 50 kids that evening. So, um, what they did is the first 50 t 50 kids that came to sign up to buy a ticket, uh, when the tickets went online, they they just let those kids know that they I mean, first 50 kids that wanted to get on the spirit bus, they let those kids know that, uh, that their ticket would be compensated. >> So, uh, I spoke to Mr. Bradshaw personally and he really didn't want any fanfare or any, you know, big acknowledgement. He just wanted to know he you know he he told me you know specifically blessed enough to do it he want the kids to have the the opportunity >> so I am asking for approve approval for the um donation of $500 from Mr. brand shop >> and

I'm going to send him got his address. I'm gonna send him a sweatshirt. >> Uh, you know, now he can't wear it because he's a ref when he, you know, you got to be careful about that. But I am going to send him a sweatshirt and uh just let him know he really appreciate it. And our conversation was was really good and you know, he just wanted to he just wanted to help. >> So >> that's good. >> So I'm asking for approval of that. >> I need a motion. motion. >> Mrs. Simmons, >> yes. >> Mrs. Guest, >> yes. >> Mr. Lumpin, >> yes. >> Mrs. Currington, >> yes. Mrs. Cherry, >> yes. >> All right. Thank you. Item B is the request for approval of the personnel agenda. As um as stated also

um we did have uh some additional dialogue with regards to some of the um some of the information some of the questions that were asked. The agenda just changed slightly uh from the one that I sent last Friday and then did send another one this Friday. So I am asking for approval of uh the person personally. I need a motion to approve personality. >> Motion second. >> Yes. Mrs. Currington. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Simmons. >> Yes. >> Mr. Lumpkin. >> Yes. >> Mrs. G. >> Mrs. Cherry. >> Yes. Motion passes. Next. We have discussion items. >> Just two real quick updates. I did um inform the board last meeting I would provide a graduation update as of March 18th. So just summary information uh total senior count is 245. Total students on track for graduation

017180. These are the kids that will based upon what where they are now they are they are definitely on track for graduation. There are 65 that need additional students that need to complete the alternative pathways and those are the kids that we are uh that we are still working working on to ensure that they can complete those graduation seals. The um the number has gone up a little bit. Uh I think it was more in the 160s maybe. Can't remember exactly but now it's at 180. So, still actively engaging parents, actively engaging seniors, working with uh different um companies to provide kids the um alternative pathway for graduation. Uh talked to Mrs. Hey and uh Mr. McCrae briefly. They're they're um they're positive that they're going to get get most of these uh most of

these kids through. The one of the hurdles that they have run into is that the um the alternative pathway at the high school to pursue other some career credentials has been a struggle for some kids due to the shutdown of Department of Homeland Security and FEMA the websites because they there were some things that they had to go on uh with the through those websites and do some you know do some um some pathway work. But because of those shutdowns there there been a you know been some some hurdles but they still do believe that they'll that the kids will be okay. They're working on some different working on some different pathways. But right now currently 180 on track and then 65 that uh that are working through the process for the alternate path. Okay.

Um B I'm sorry. Okay. B. So, Central State University today, we talked about this a little bit last meeting. It has been confirmed August 11th uh 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. August 11th, I said August. April 11th, excuse me. April 11th, uh 2026, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We are anticipating the um several different of the the colleges, the university, colleges, schools, uh humanities. Um it's not education anymore. I think it falls under humanities uh sciences there. There are five or six different um different colleges that will have booths set up. The uh we're hoping to get the band here. We're hoping to um you know just have a variety of different uh athletic department, variety of different uh means of representation for Central State. And uh we are planning on opening this opening this

to the community, not just to Triwood, but to the community. So we're uh we're going to be meeting with Dr. Harris. I believe Mr. Nier, myself have a call scheduled with him tomorrow. Going to be meeting with him to talk about some type of marketing budget uh to just kind of see how we can get this information out here out out here in the community, whether it's flyers, whether uh we try to uh pony up some money for a quick radio ad. Yikes. But we are we are going to be working on uh trying to get um trying to get that information out there and hopefully make it a uh make it a community event where Triwood, the city of Triwood, Triwood Madison City Schools and Central State University um reestablish this partnership and really

try to get um you know get that opened up again so you know folks can see Central State as a uh as a destination for for any questions on that one. I'll continue to update you as uh as um the plans formalized, but that is the um that is the date that we have set. >> That's all I have. >> Nice. >> So, that's a day you can wear your your CSU gear. >> Mhm. >> Any day is a good day to wear your CSU >> paint the city go. >> Thank you, Mr. Howard. Next, treasur comments. >> Yes. I I just wanted to share something with the board that I shared with finance committee earlier today. I'd mentioned um I think it we started in October working on excess cost reimbursement with the state

of Ohio. That's reimbursement um for students that attend Trotwood Madison City Schools um and and have a disability but they're residents of other places maybe court place, foster place, open enrollment. Um, and so that's a process for the district to be able to figure out how much extra it costs us to educate those students and ask for reimbursements from their home district. And so, um, that's a project that I took on with people in our student services department. It's definitely a joint effort because it requires a lot of information about, um, specific students and teachers and it's always from the year before. So, it's not current this year, it's it's the year prior. Um, and I just wanted to share that when that's all said and done, um, we paid out this year to other

districts just over $170,000, but we brought in just over $467,000. So, this year we brought in um about $296,000 more than we paid out. And um I I think the processes that we're putting in place definitely are going to be beneficial for us going forward. Last year we ended up paying out more than we brought in um almost $138,000. So last year we were in the hole. This year we're up close to $300,000. So um we've just started working together on threshold costs which is a similar exercise but for students who are who do live here. they're our residents, but where we can um request some of those funds over and above what we received from the state back from the state and some of the funds that we paid out to other districts in

the excess cost exercise. So, we will definitely be working on that with the same level of detail we did for excess cost and then putting our kind of our procedures in place going forward so that we can continue um hopefully to collect more than we are paying out. So, I just wanted to share that information. That was a piece of good financial news and I don't get to share that a lot right now. So, >> thank you. >> And that's all I have. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Superintendent comments. >> Okay. Just a couple uh real quick. First, I I do echo everyone's uh comments with regards to the uh board retreat. I think it was a lot of a lot of good information and and even for myself just uh some some brushing

up on you know some of those legal requirements and expectations of of all of us uh you know working with the uh working with the political body and then working with the administration just really getting a a real clear understanding on what you know what our roles are what those expectations are. Um, last Friday, uh, I I do want to share with the board that we had a, uh, PLC meeting with our administrators over at Madison Lakes. Uh, and if you haven't been to Madison Lakes, the the facility has really been really been upgraded. It's it's a really nice facility and we're going to try to utilize that for, you know, any off-site meeting. We'll try to keep oursel within the city of Trotwood as much as we can. Doesn't cost us anything. Uh so

we uh we spent the entire day the administrative staff uh spent the entire day over there and really worked on um refining some of the some of the uh instructional components that we're expecting to see as we go through our our uh what we call our instructional walks. I don't know if you guys remember we talked about that a few weeks ago. We really want to try to utilize those instructional walks to to ensure that what we see in the classroom is researchbased strategies to improve achievement. That's what the focus is using researchbased strategies, focusing on the the content and the resources that the district has provided. And we want to make sure that all of those things align with improving improving achievement. So, we're really excited about those uh those instructional rounds. are really

excited about the PLC work, you know, going through this storm that we went through. Uh, I just wanted to to say that just to reassure this this this body that we still focused and we're still here to ensure that students are achieving and we know we got a lot of work to do, but um we are definitely putting in uh putting in that work to ensure that ensure that that happens, sure. Next, real quick, uh tomorrow's a big day. Uh, our boys will be playing in the state semi-final. Uh, tomorrow evening at UD Arena at 6 o'clock p.m. At 2:00 tomorrow, the high school will have a clap out for the young men where the young men will walk through the hallways. The band will be be leading them through the hallways and all of

the kids will be outside of their doors uh kind of, you know, sending them off in a sense. So, if you're available at 2 tomorrow, stop by the high school and uh you get an opportunity to see the kids. And we and we've done done this several times before with football and basketball in the past. And just looking at those young men's faces and seeing that >> their peers support them, >> their teachers support them and you know, and the district supports them, that really gives uh gives gives them a uh gives them a boost as they head into the um into the game tomorrow night. With that being said, uh those 50 kids that got those tickets from Mr. What is his name again? I forgot his name. >> Bradshaw. Thank you very much.

From Mr. Bradshaw. Each one of them was provided a t-shirt and we are going to try to have some uniform some some uniforms for our student section tomorrow. >> And I have some t-shirts for the board as well if you want to wear one tomorrow. >> So, I'm going to give everybody one. Now, these sizes, I got to check on those to make sure. But if it's big, just put some under and and share. Uh, I asked Mrs. Howard to bring some more over here cuz I was a couple short. So, once we adjourn, we'll uh we'll make sure everybody gets a uh gets a t-shirt and if you want to wear it tomorrow, please come out and come out and support. There's a lot of uh lot of anticipation for this game tomorrow. We

got a kids are going to be uniformed. They're student section. They're going to be cheering. And uh if you were at the game last week, this past weekend, we didn't have a huge student section. It wasn't comparable to the team that we played, but our kids were cheering. And I was really, really, really excited and happy to see that. We had about maybe 50 kids, and they had uh their their, you know, their uh their section was filled up almost to the top, but our kids were going right back and forth with them. and uh we were excited. So, we're ant anticipating a much larger crowd, more kids, more fans. Uh you know, we're 15 minutes away, so we we're hoping that uh that we can uh hoping our young men can, as they say,

do their thing tomorrow >> and and move on to uh move on to Friday. >> And that's all I have. >> All right, I'm just teasing. >> Big shout out to Chandler Moore, too. I'm sorry. Chandler Moore was the wrestler. finished fourth in the state. >> I don't want to forget about him. Finished fourth in the state. So, our kids uh are doing some great things athletically and then keep pushing this achievement >> and we're going to start talking about some of the great things they're doing academically as well. Continue to talk about some of the great things that we we've been highlighting that stuff all year. >> Now, we're in our boards. This is so um I just want to you for all the work um that you're doing and you real um I

did want to again thank officer Derek while he's here with us today for the work that he did with the uh mental health for our team and just encouraging our children to keep their mental health. Um, and I'm just excited of all the good things that I see highlighted in Mr. First, let me say welcome back, Eric. Logan was great while while he was here. I don't know if he's not coming back, but he was excellent because, you know, I'm always losing my password. So, but good to see you back. Um, I would just like to thank Mr. Brad Shaw for um, donating the tickets. Um, and I would like to thank everybody for well the president and Mr. Howard and u, Miss Adams for putting together the retreat last week. I thought it was

a really good retreat. Um, I learned a lot. Um, I would say go Rams. We will be victorious tomorrow. I know that already. Um, and as um, Miss G said, I'm proud of the work that we're doing. And thank you, D, for making sure that you're watching our pennies. So, thank you for that. >> Okay, Mr. Lumpin. >> Well, I mean, congratulations to the boys basketball team for winning the regional championship. Congratulations to Chandler for placing fourth in the state. was the first wrestler to actually um place in the state since 2011 before I was. So >> those are really good accomplishments. And um that's pretty much it. Just make sure you guys come out tomorrow and support the boys uh as they they try to get the district a second ever um state championship

in basketball. Um it's in Dayton. There's no excuse. You should be able to get there and support the Rams. One other thing, community, do some research on a recent House bill. House Bill 545. House Bill 545 is the public is a public transportation bill that's been proposed by some people here locally and they're taking it through the state to vote on to give public schools relief on where they where they have to pay to bust the charter students. Um, a as a promise, we want to highlight the things that put pressure on the legislature to put money back into public schools. This bill was introduced by one of our local reps, Desiree Tims, and one of the representatives in Solen, Ohio, and it it it has some really good things in it, and I encourage

all of you guys to read it and research it. And with that being said, I I'll provide a little more context to that bill in our next meeting when we get our update from the ESC. Just a uh a little more robust context. But absolutely, I'm glad you made mention of that as well. >> Go Rams. >> Yes. Kudos to our two Westbrook students, Lady Bean and Lady Brown, for de delivering the mission statement at the onset of our meeting this evening. Also, thanks uh Mr. uh Ray Bradshaw. Awesome. Um give back to the students to get them to out to the game for participation tomorrow. um would like to uh congratulate those 180 students that are on track for graduation and for the 65 students that still need a little bit work more work

um let's motivate them and and get them across that finish line. Um come out community on April the 11th CSU day. um that's a HBCU right in our backyard and if we're open it up to the community students also parents if you're looking to go back to school so we hope that you will come out on April the 11th as well to all those that organized that event kudos to them and kudos to Jill for recouping in a time like this where we're on a financial watch $296,000 that is a big kudos thank you Jill for that work cuz I know it took a lot of work to um actually um look into that and create a process to actually recoup that money. So, thank you so much um from the bottom um of our

hearts for that your effort in doing that. And I I'll close with that. Go Rams. Let's win. All right. Thank you. Well, I can start with all my board members everything that they have said. Um, I just want to take this opportunity to um really thank Mr. Howard as superintendent and for the work that they do. The dedication that you show for our district um it's not gone unnoticed and not not just you all but the administrators, everyone who has put forth the effort to move our district forward. Um I really appreciate the board appreciates everyone. Um Mr. Bradshaw, thank you so very much for your gracious contribution to our students with the 50 tickets. Um, I want to also ask that you would piggy back off of what Mr. Lumpin said about file House

Bill 545. That is very very important. Um, also if we all can if we can even do a short notice, Mr. Howard 2:00 for the clap out. try my best to at least jump in for a few a few minutes. Um, congratulations to our basketball team, Mr. Chandler, um, for the wrestling. Um, I'm hoping that we get great results from the juniors from the testing. Um, also a reminder of the championship summer camp um, for students K through five. And um just want to put that information, a reminder out there about the kindergarten enrollment. Um and I would encourage everyone to go to House Bill 114 in reference to the kindergarten enrollment. So with that being said, I'm looking forward to attending the game. I'm looking forward to the win. >> Yes. >> Go Ramps.

Great. And if there is nothing else, I need a motion to adjurnn. I motion. >> I second. >> It's been moved and second. This item, Mr. >> Yes. Mr. Lumpin. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Furington. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Simmons. Yes. >> Mrs. G. Mrs. Cherry. >> Yes. Motion passes. I'm getting the allergies. It started with my allergies.
