I call the meeting to order for the Tuscaris Valley Board of Education. At this time, we will um be uh changing a little and we have to appoint a treasure prom and I'm going to recommend that we appoint Mr. Fiser, Adam Fiser, to be the uh treasure proame in absence of our treasurer Mark Phillips and we wish him well and if he's out there watching, we hope you get well soon. So with that, I made the motion. Is there a second? Been seconded. Any discussion? All right, let's call the role. Adam, >> uh Mr. Fischer, present. Miss Green, >> yes. >> Mr. Overton, >> yes. >> Miss Saiy, >> yes. >> And Mrs. Burrier, >> absent. All right. At this time, we will call the role. >> Uh, Mr. Fischer, present. Miss Green, >> present.

>> Mr. Overton, >> yes. >> Uh, Miss Tai, >> present. >> And Mer >> absent. >> All right. At this time, if you would stand if you're able, for the pledge of allegiance, followed by the invocation by Ben Overton. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Heavenly Father, I just ask you as we've already mentioned Mark that you would just be with all those who are battling illness right now. As we've heard, there's also several out in the school today. So, we just pray that you would be with them. And also God just with all those there's been a lot of losses lately uh with our staff and families and

we just pray for pray for them and comfort for them as well Lord. So be with us tonight as we do the Satuski Valley in Jesus name. Amen. >> Amen. >> And we do not have any additions or corrections to the agenda that is before our our present people who are present but the online as you're following along you might see a couple additions to that. Okay. Um, item number two is for uh the community to be aware of our mission statement and our goals and this is what drives our decisions. Okay, just to keep you informed. Item number three, we have no requests for public participation tonight. So, our agenda will move to item number four, which is our superintendent report. >> Awesome. Well, thank you, Mrs. Green. Uh, and good evening everybody. Uh,

three items under my report tonight. The first one is school safety grant update. Uh the district applied for two different school safety grants uh over the past few months. One was the school bus safety grant uh and we were happy to share that we received $25,000 from the state. Uh we'll be using that money to upgrade um the stop arms on the buses, adding additional cameras um and then adding uh the school bus signs will be illuminated and then what they call groundwash lights. So when the bus is making a stop and its reds are on and the doors are open, uh the lights actually shine out from underneath the bus to illuminate the entire area around it. uh which is very helpful in the morning on some of our back roads when it's so

dark. Uh so thank you to Mr. Penel and his team for helping with that. Uh and the other safety grant is so that was 25,000. The other safety school grant was $30,000. Um I can't share many of those details because that money will be used um for some part of our school safety initiatives here in the district which are confidential. But u Mrs. Clemens led that one. So I appreciate her and her team for helping us get that. So um we're happy to take in 55,000 to make some safety upgrades. Uh item B, I'm going to introduce Mrs. Hamilton who is going to come up on our behalf and present the Trojan pride awards for this month. >> Hello. Um I'm Kaylee Hamilton. I serve as the district student and family uh advocates and this

month um we are awarding the Trojan Pride Award to two ladies, Kim Fincher and Ashley Bryant. Um they are Kim was the founder of an organization called Project Grinch Dust back in 2008. Ashley, I believe, came on board in 2010. Um, and this organization helps out several schools um in the area with different things like back to school items and um things at Christmas time. Um they approached me over the summer about um wanting to help some of our kiddos out with some uh back to school supplies and clothes. Um they provided things for up to uh 20 kids. Um, we got backpacks, school supplies, shoes, and two outfits for each child. Um, and when I tell you that the products were amazing. They were absolutely amazing. Um, these weren't items purchased at the dollar

store, um, these were nice quality name brand items for these students. And you know, when you first talk about that or think about that, that might not seem like a big deal, but I will share one thing that a parent shared with me. I had a dad call me and he was in tears because his daughter has received help several times from different people. Um, and everybody always knew that she received help and she was very embarrassed about that. And this year she said, and I'm sorry I get emotional when I talk about this, um, but she said she finally felt that she belonged with her friends because she had things that she could be proud of and that she could show off and didn't have to hide or be embarrassed of. So, um, you

know, while the things, you know, it's not the most important thing that you have, you know, name brand items, it really does mean a lot to a middle school girl, an ele, you know, an elementary school kiddo, um, when they're just trying to fit in somewhere. Um, and when you have those monetary restraints, it's really hard to fit in with your friends. So, um, they also helped us at Christmas time. Um again, um we were allowed to give them um up to 20 students. Um and they held a party with other area schools and their the kids and their families. They got to go to Boulevard Lanes for a day of bowling, um free bowling, free food, and the kids got to see Santa and open up gifts. They each got four to five gifts.

Um, and one of those gifts was a big ticket item. Um, which was amazing. Um, we had kids receive bikes. Um, we had kids receive um, a vanity. Um, what are some other? >> Barbie Dreamhouse. Things that they probably would never ever be able to get. Um, and we had some very very happy kiddos and some very very appreciative uh, parents. So, I am happy to present the Trojan Pride Award to Ashley Bryant and Kim Fincher. Come on up. >> Hang on a second. I find it some keep changing things all >> very >> perfect and again on behalf of the board thank you so much for everything that you do. >> All right and the last item under my report um I'm going to turn it over to Mrs. Clemens, who's going to talk

about midyear testing data. >> Everybody wants to talk about, right, testing. Well, uh, good evening and thank you guys all for coming tonight. So, I am very excited about our midyear testing. I know teachers were very nervous about scores with all of the interruptions with our weather days. Uh, MAP testing just kept getting extended uh, week after week, but very positive news. I I sent the report to Dr. Ransky last night and I said, "Look at these scores. Just amazing work by our students and our teachers." So, the first piece um there's a quick map overview just to kind of give you a snapshot along with the student growth report which you should be familiar with. The little orange triang or diamonds are the uh grade level norms projected growth. So, that's kind of where

we're aiming for. The blue bar behind it is where we our students have achieved. So, if you can look through all of those um forms, you'll see that our students achieve at or above every one of those diamonds, which I'm not sure has ever happened. We've, you know, periodically have a grade level or a content area that is struggling, but we have shown positive um conditional growth in each one of our areas. So, huge shout out to our students that put in a lot of time and effort on this test. The MAP tests can be a little daunting. I'm sure most of our high school students can attest to that. So, starting in kindergarten, it can be 30, 40 minutes up to hours of testing for one content area in our middle school and high

school because it is adaptive. So, as our students are getting questions right, it becomes more and more difficult and becomes more lengthy and and so a lot of times our students don't have the stamina or really the grit to keep going. Um, so a lot of times they'll start clicking, but they did a really nice job this year pushing through. So I'm very proud of them for that. Um, so the overview is just showing that all content areas and grade levels demonstrated that positive growth at a 0.0 or above, which is exciting. Um, and then I gave you the averages there for the elementary and the high school as far as how much higher um, that positive growth is. So very excited. Um the second piece is um the triangle reports or the diamonds. That's

our ASWeb testing. I did give you a few notes there at the top. Um our Ames web testing, we have traditionally seen a lot of growth throughout the year. Um the difference between our MAP testing and our Ames web. Our MAP is looking at growth. So starting where they're at, they may be two grade levels ahead when they're starting in third grade, but we still have to move them further. So it's growth no matter where they start. Ames Webb testing is looking at those foundational skills within their grade level. So where are they coming at at the beginning of first grade? Where are they leaving first grade standards? And we saw tremendous growth there as well. These pyramids, I'm just just as a reminder, we try to aim for 80 to 85% of our students

within the green of that triangle. We have lots of grade levels that are already there. We just want to continue that growth throughout the school year. Um, just as some highlights, on average within our math data from fall, average was about 63.7% of our students in the green at the beginning of the year. By winter, we're at 77.2. Again, our goal is 80 by the end of the year. So, we are well on our way there. And then our reading started at 73.7 and is actually already in that ideal range of 82.7. And I suspect that we will continue to move forward and increase that number by the end of the year. As you're looking at this data though, I just want to caution you. The first two charts, kindergarten and first grade early numeracy,

because Ames web test has so many pieces and those pieces all have to be done one-on-one individually with students. Takes a long time to administer for our our teachers. So in the winter in only the math area, we only rebenchmark our students that were in that red or yellow at the beginning of the year. We want to make sure that they are making continuing to make growth. So when you look at that first triangle, it looks a little lopsided in our winter. >> Please note that those kids that are in the green and winter, they were in red and yellow in the fall. So they have made growth in those areas. So just wanted you to look at those. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me. But overall, news is

great. Our kids are doing wonderfully. Our teachers um are doing exactly what we expect them to do every day. And we see great growth from our students. You guys have any questions? Sally does. Nope. Nope. That was my question. Does anyone have any questions? >> Looks really great. And thanks for explaining that because that was one of the questions I was going to have was about that kindergarten. >> Yep. >> Um so I appreciate that. Um I guess if I'm gonna just so we can make sure there is a question on the on this part. >> Yes. >> Okay. What does what does the numbers actually mean? Does that mean we're >> so let'sove the expected growth. So the diamond is where they expect our kids to land based off of our beginning score and

based off of national norms. Okay. So all of that go configures into where the diamonds are. >> Anything above that is positive growth. So we are achieving higher than what was expected of MAP and national norms. >> Okay. So for the elementary reading conditional growth average it's 0.96. So is that because you have to have a whole year's growth before you really have an additional growth. So is this additional growth mean we've done the one and then we've done n6 more. >> Well a 0.0 is one year's growth. >> Z is one. Yeah. >> So we don't have anything that's under a zero. >> No. >> Okay. Okay. No. >> All right. Just to clarify that for our new members. >> Okay. >> Awesome. Well, thank you, Mrs. Bonnets. We appreciate that. >> All right.

That concludes my report. Mrs. Green, >> thank you very much. And thanks everyone for those wonderful good news that been going on. Okay, we're going to go to item number five, which is our student representative report. And tonight we are so excited and happy to have the drama team, which is also called the speech team. Sorry, at state qualifiers. So, you're all state qualifiers. Is that what we're to understand? All right. Come on up and present. >> Mrs. Spina's over right here. >> Oh, there she is. I didn't want to say you weren't here. Good. >> Thanks, Car. >> Yeah. Do you want me to come up? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> With my team? >> Yeah, absolutely. >> All right. We're expecting them to give a speech. >> If you are, I have one

picked out. >> Abby. >> Okay. >> Hi. Um, >> sorry about the suits you too because I think earlier we were at after school directing the um Susicle Junior production and Cat and Kiki were helping us direct that. So, they didn't have time to go back and get their suits. But yes, look how amazing our team looks and how amazing and professional they are. I think they all deserve a huge round of applause. We took 15 students to the district um tournament which was at Jackson High School. There are over 21 schools in the Canton district. We are considered Canton district since New Philly and us we don't have our own district anymore. In the 70s they did, but we do not anymore. Um, we're in one of the strongest districts in the state of

Ohio, and we do not have a debate team like other schools do. And Tusky Valley with our 15 kids we took to the tournament placed sixth in team sweeps. That's fifth place was Lewisville. Lewisville has 20 novice, which means these are students that are brand new this year with a total of 40 kids on their team. and we were only 30 points away from having fifth place with 15 kids. So, if that gives you any idea how strong but mighty Tusky Valley speech and debate is, I don't know what does. So, yes, these are all of our state qualifiers and um we had um if you guys just want to stand forward when I say your name, our PO team, which is program oral interpretation. This is where they create their own program with using

different genres like poems, plays, movies, articles. Um, we had four qualifiers. You can only take four students in each category. You cannot take five. So, we took our top four in every category, which only have 15. There's 13 categories. We obviously um don't have enough kids for all of that. But our po our po our po team was full. I'm a speech coach and every one of them qualified, which is a big deal to qualify your team, your individual team. So, stand forward. We have Maddie. Is she here tonight? Nope. Okay. Maddie Fay um was on our PO team is on our PO team. Katherine Kuier, she's not here tonight. Cam McCoy. Now, Cam McCoy was a student that bid out. That means he did not have to perform at districts. He already qualified to

state. The reason he already qualified to state is because he has placed in over eight tournaments and you need four bids to actually be a pre-qualifier. So Cam had an outstanding season this year and we're really proud of him for not having to go to Littleles and perform. And then our fourth team member for PO program oral interpretation is Claire Claire Carter. So yes, this group this it was a really big deal because everyone was saying Tusky Valley got their whole PO team in. I'm like yes we did. So congratulations to them. Um, next is our humor team. We have um four kids on the humor team. And um tonight, Anna Mosley is not here, but she was one of the qualifiers who also pre-qualified through um bidding out and performing at such a high

level at the tournaments. Um is Maddie here? Okay, Maddie McClean. Um she also pre-qualified, which means she has bid out in more than four tournaments this year, which is a really big deal for us. Usually we get one we get one student that does that. Also, Cam McCoy and Abby were um in a separate category called duo interpretation and they um bid out in duo. So, we had a total of four students this year who bid out before the district tournament. Um, our CLA Claire Corder was also double entered in humor and she qualified in humor to state and Kiki Conc Concaid Brown. Um, our freshman humor qualified to state this weekend. So, all of our humors also qualified, but Claire chose to go in program oral interpretation. You can only choose one category to

perform at the state level. So, she's going to be on the PO team, but technically Tusky Valley got their humors all in. Also, it was very exciting. I'm not competitive. And we're still going strong with informative speaking. That's where we've had two state champions um with um Izzy Drummer and Brooklyn Fauller. We've also had state champions in humor. But this year, our info team, we have two that qualified to the state competition, and that's Piper Fogle and Natalie Armstrong. So we were really excited to get more informative speakers. The informative speakers and um the OO speakers actually write their own speeches. So um the rest of us use published material but they are the publishers of their material. So that's really exciting. So that was exciting. Congratulations. And next step forward is Abby Gainor. Like

I said earlier, Abby Gainner did qualify to state and duo interpretation. Um her and Cam did that together, but Cam also qualified in po. So I told Abby we had to like really make a big decision. Like she already made it to state and duo, but by going to the tournament this Saturday, she gave up that state qualification to try for her other category which is original oratory that she wrote herself. And she didn't only like qualified to state, she champed the tournament. So we made a good decision. I'm very proud of Abby for taking that risk. I was very nervous, but I knew you could do it. And then we have um last but not least, um we have first alternate Elsie. Um she's not here tonight, right? Okay. Um Elsie did qualify in

US um extemporaneous speaking um as a first alternate. And then we have Elsie and Henry Girkley who are going to be representing Tusky Valley. >> Step forward, Henry, or wave your hand. um they will be re representing Tusky Valley speech in student congress. So that's going to be really exciting because they're both extempers which is kind of like light debate and they're going to get a chance to really um move forward in debate preparation. We start tomorrow. Uh my dream is to have a debate team here at Tusky Valley. U maybe they'll be the start of something new. I don't know. We'll see. I'm afraid Henry's really going to like debate. So um which means we're going to have to get a debate coach. But for now, they're going to play and have fun with

learning about congressional debate at the state tournament. And um we also celebrated our senior Cat Brown. Um we have two seniors on our team. Um the one did not compete and um Cat Brown was recognized at the state tournament as one of our seniors. So that or not the state tournament, the little district tournament. We were very proud of her. So, yeah, we've had a great year and we're excited to um go to Pittsburgh. We leave Friday for a National Circuit tournament. They're awesome. >> Okay, team. Any comments, thoughts, questions? >> I might hear something. >> What did you say? >> I hear something. >> Oh, I did too. I was going to get to that. Does anyone have any other >> So funny. >> So, I was gonna say whoever's going to do the

speech, get them prepared. Well, because no one else has anything and some of it's just a little bit, you know, >> I think that um >> I think Abby should do her speech. >> It is a written speech that she wrote herself. It's called original oratory. So, good luck. You might want to get some tissues. The whole thing. It's 10 minutes. >> We have 10 minutes. >> You're doing it, girl. >> Be so good. If you can do it, if you get tired and you want to say no, but before you you all leave, can we wait a minute? Don't leave, Cam. >> We want to get a picture. So, everyone get over there >> and then >> I was driving. I don't text. >> I'm sorry, guys. They want you to come over here

so >> Is it just the kids? >> No, you too. Turn around. >> I didn't tell you. >> Barb wants to take the pictures. >> Yeah. So, kind of look at Barb, but I'm going to take a picture, too. >> I don't think Aby's ready for this. >> All right. Ready? >> One, two, three. Smile. Okay, Carrie, can you kind of >> everyone a little closer? >> Turn. Yeah, together a little bit better. That's good. >> Wow, that's a good picture. >> You can crop me out of it. I'm >> Hey guys, we're so proud of you and congratulations on your awards. We think you do you do an amazing job and we always always look forward to this. And do you have the date set for when drama is going to do their little

>> our showcase? >> Yes. >> I don't think we have the actual date. It will be in April and it's going to be during the week. We decided that way we don't have to like fight with things that are going on in the week during the weekend. >> Well, keep us informed. We'd love to come. All right. At this time, >> either the duet or the single. >> All right. I guess I'll >> uh before you start, Noah, do you need a mic for her? better if she was behind the podium. >> Do you mind doing you have to move and and >> I do move, but I don't have to. >> All right. All right. >> Use a smaller platform space. Right. >> Okay. Fun fact about me. I don't cuss. Yeah, I know.

I'm a 17-year-old who refuses to say bad words. So instead, you'll find me using substitutes such as gosh, darn, heck, goodness gracious, and my personal favorite, good grief. But it's ironic, isn't it? This phrase, good grief, because grief is almost never perceived as something that's good. Grief always has a negative connotation. But why is that? Of course, the event that sparks the grief is usually bad. But why is grief itself always something to be avoided? To understand this, first we'll need to freaking define it, diving into all of its gosh darn stages. Then I'll share my story. And finally, we'll learn about some ways people have learned to cope with grief along with some ways you can help. Cuz Jiminy Christmas, we could all use some help sometimes. According to the National Library of Medicine,

grief is defined as the personalized and individualized feelings and responses one has to real perceived or anticipated loss. Most commonly, grief is associated with death. However, the Cleveland Clinic states that grief can accompany any event that disrupts our sense of normaly. This can be the loss of a friend, a home or community, a job or career, and even a dream or goal. Knowing this, the effects of grief expand beyond the horizon of exclusion. Most commonly, grief is associated with death. But because of this, I am blinking. Wow. I forgot. >> It's okay. Hang on. Hold on. Let me just Do we want to stop now? I didn't know if I should do the whole thing or like >> Why don't you just go to your second point? >> Okay. Um I am blanking. Oh my

goodness. I'm so sorry. I was not expecting >> Well, I did. >> Yeah. >> Guess I was um I don't know. >> Here I have it. >> Thank you. Should have warmed up. >> I know. Warm up. >> So, this is a good time as she's looking it up. Do you guys practice before your speeches then? Is that what you do? Is that how you warm up? >> What's quite funny is usually we will talk to a wall. So when we go to tournaments, you just see lines of people talking to a wall, talking to themselves. So I guess I get didn't get to talk to a wall today. So I'm kind of blanking. But >> yeah, I'm blanking, too. I'm finding your form. Okay. Um, just go ahead and start into your first point.

>> Into my Okay. >> Yeah, you'll be fine. >> All right. Guess we'll redo this. According to the National Library of Medicine, grief is defined as the personalized and individualized feelings and responses one has to real perceived or anticipated loss. Most anticipated loss. I am flustered. >> You want to just I'm so sorry. >> Yeah, I'm so sorry. I just was not accepted. >> Okay, we're gonna we're gonna see it at the showcase. Thank you for trying. >> Well, you can tell she's amazing. >> I'm sorry about that. >> Awesome. Congratulations to you all. Great job. As you can see, it's a lot of work, a lot of memorization. I always get super nervous when they're in they're around and I'm at a public event because I hope that I don't have to speak and

make a fool of myself because I look like an amateur compared to them. Uh but tons and tons of work. If you've never been to a speech um tournament um if you've never been to the showcase, you should definitely check it out. They are they're phenomenal. So check so check it out and we'll make sure we get that advertised when the date is set. So >> and I'll prepare you for that. >> So again, so thank you. I know you're busy. Um and so we appreciate all of you being here tonight. >> Oh, so much so. And we love when our student representatives give us their reports. So thank you again for coming. All right. Leadership team reports is item number six. And we're gonna start with Andrea. >> Really, I don't have anything new

other than our um afterchool program. We'll be starting their last session starting March 2nd. So, if you would ever want to come out and visit our after school program, you're more than welcome. Um it runs till uh 4:30 Monday through Thursday. Um we have a lot of new programs being offered this session. So we're excited about new opportunities and one of them that we are going to try to move forward with even in the elementary world is the let grow program and that goes handinhand with the anxious generation book study that we have just completed. So it's about taking helping kids to take initiative have some free play and the learning and social development that goes along with free play. So often we kind of over parent and over teach and over structure their play.

So they need to learn how to u move forward if they have a conflict um and learn how to be creative on their own. So that program will be offered in our after school program this round. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Okay, Jason, you're next. Oh, sorry Dave. I didn't see you there. I did see you there, but I mean I didn't associate Jason wasn't there. Sorry. >> All right. Good evening everybody. Um, Tusky Valley Middle School is coming to the uh midway of their third marking period. So, we are going to be pulling grades for interims here on Thursday. Um, I invite all of you to our SEAL session that will be on Friday, February 27th. Please stop in. We will forward schedules to you and you can see what we are doing to

address social emotional learning. So, please stop by for that. And I do believe we have some students here that we need to recognize. So, we've got some students of the month. So, Mrs. Green, you have your camera ready? >> I'm ready. >> Excellent. All right. All right. First, I'd like to call up Taran Campbell. >> Taran, I'm gonna get this wrong. It's Tiana. >> Tiana. Oh, I knew I was gonna get it wrong. Okay. All right. So, Taran is the is a senior daughter of Todd and Tiana Campbell. Uh, her school activities include golf and ski and board club. In her free time, Taran enjoys painting, going to the gym, baking, and spending time with friends and family. After graduation, Taran plans to study architecture at a university. Have you made a decision? >> No,

I have. >> No decision yet. That's okay. All right, Taran, congratulations. Okay, >> thank you. >> Don't go anywhere because we'll get a group. Oh, okay. >> All right. >> You're not in the picture. >> Okay. Our fine artist of the month is Caitlyn Brown. Caitlyn Brown, please come down. Caitlyn, or Cat, is a senior and the daughter of Nick and Cassie Brown. Her school activities include cheer, speech, drama, and choir. Cat's hobbies include drawing, singing, dancing, and cheerleading. After graduation, Cat plans to attend Malone University and participate as a base on their stunt cheer squad. Congratulations, Cat Brown. >> My camera's not working. >> I might have a phone. >> Thank you. Sorry. Don't worry. >> We have to pose one more time. Okay. >> Send this to Derek. >> And Elliot Wallock, please

come on down. Elliot or Ellie is a junior and the daughter of Chad and Danny Wallik. Her school activities include volleyball, basketball, softball, and class officer. In her free time, Ellie hangs out with her friends and family, including Mrs. Poland. Enjoys going for coffee runs and playing pickle ball. After graduation, she she really wanted me to say this line. So, after graduation, Ellie plans to attend college. Have you made a decision yet? >> No decision yet. >> Um, still undecided on a major and if she will play a sport. Um that oh >> oh no >> Mrs. Poland took that last statement out. It had something to do with being an NFL water person to run around. >> If all else fails, that is her fallback. So Ellie Wallik, congratulations. >> We have to. Yes,

we have to smile. >> You all come back down. >> Back down again. >> There you go. Thank you. >> No, this right here. Yeah. >> And I'm nuts. >> Turn in toward each other, girls. And >> and come like three, you know, come up here so she can get your picture right there. >> Mr. Fogle should get in there, too. >> Hang on. Someone Where's Heidi? >> Not here. >> I don't know. All right. All right. Is that all for Dan? All right. And then Corey Street. >> All right. Uh, good evening everyone. Uh, I just want to let the board of education know that during snowageddon, we were hard at work online. And I just like to thank our teachers for hopping on completing those Zoom meetings so that we can have all

of our kids placed for our intervention groups when we were back in session. So that took um a lot of hours over a lot of days and we were able to complete that virtually um this week. Actually at the end of last week we had our kindergarten 100th day celebration and as always great community support. We did that in the performing arts center. Um just wanted to thank everyone for coming to that. And as always you're invited to our class parties. We have Valentine's Day parties coming up on Thursday um at 1:45 at the elementary school. Feel free to stop in and again big thanks to the PTO because we will have um a ton of volunteers there and it's always very wellrun. So that's all I have. Thank you. >> Don't leave yet. >>

Um can you please explain when you said that the teachers are working to get the intervention ready to go back? I think this is really important for our community here. Can you explain what we do to help every student succeed at Tusky Valley? >> Sure. So, as part of those teams, we have counselors, administrators, um OSS personnel that all hop on and the bottom line is we talk with teachers, look at data, and we talk about every kid in the entire school. And when we do that, we look at academic data uh for them as well as see if there's anything going on social, emotionally um where we're able to support. So um it's a great thing that we do three times a year and we want to just make sure nothing slips through the

cracks in that during that um RTI time in school where no new instruction happens, we want to make sure we're um either plugging gaps uh that exist or enriching them um in different ways. So, thank you so much, Corey. >> No problem. Thank you. >> Any other? >> All right. Then, finally, Scott, >> the only thing I have to add to my report is during our snowageddon or whatever you want to call our weather event. We did have huge shout out to our maintenance staff of especially Mr. Donald Walls or Ray and Mr. Chuck Shondle and Mr. Burton and our daytime custodians for getting the way the place looks around here. So they spent a lot of time to get the way it looked. So big shout out to them and thank you to them.

>> We had a lot of snow that they had to do a was it a fortlift or something to get snow >> so thanks. Thanks so much for caring about us. >> Oh yeah. Yeah. They did a wonderful job. There was you know there was numerous schools in our area that did not go to school but our kids did because the buses started when we needed them to start. And uh that's all to do to Mr. Ray Walls and Mr. truck. >> Good. Thank you so much. All right. Item number seven is a board member report which is me uh on OSA updates. Um really we with legislating not being has just come back in. There's not a lot. There's um a couple ones we're looking at as it comes down the pike and by

next month I should have a better view of what ones are going to move forward, what's not going to move forward. I do want to caution you that one legislature is trying to promote um removing uh federal state money from schools who are who are supporting um the non voucher system trying to get rid of the voucher system. Um there is not a lot of traction in that. So I don't think that's anything we have to worry about. We're not on that list, but there's 300 out of 600 schools that are on that list fighting for um public funds to go to public schools. So, I just want you to be aware of that one. Um and that's all my report for now. Um we're going to move to item number eight, which is our

consent agenda. And I need to have a motion on items A1 through 22. Is there a motion? >> All right. Ben made the motion. A second. >> I'll second. Morgan made made the motion. Sorry. Um discussion. Any discussion? >> I would just like to point out item number two, Elite Kyogenics and their $100,000 donation towards the middle high school performing arts center. Uh so we just like to thank Elite um and specifically Mr. Gary Sears and his family for making that happen. Uh they pledged that money a few years ago when construction was happening uh to make sure that we had that space and so uh this is his commitment coming in. So we appreciate that. >> All right. And I would like to point out item number 12. Um this is the master service

agreement with 4ERunner technologies. We have some new board members. I just want to make sure that you know what that is. Um and it is basically to help provide uh internal maintenance of our phone system and support of our phone system. Um last year it was $8,900 and then this year on the it's one or $9,100 plus change. Um so there is an increase. Uh Nick Brown said this is a natural increase across the the board. It was nothing unusual. So I think this one is uh I just want to let everyone know that this is standard and it's uh nothing to be concerned about. It kind of the way the wording that the company wants making it an addendum. There's really not an addendum. I don't know why they call it that, but it's

just a change. You know, every year you know how you get a service agreement. So that's what that is. Any other ones? >> Um item number 17. We just appreciate uh Julie Packer for her many years of service here. Uh she'll be retiring at the end of this school year. Uh last couple years she's been doing our title reading program at the elementary and done a phenomenal job. So we will miss her and we wish her well into retirement. >> Any others? Any other ones that anybody wants to point out? And of course always we are thankful for our middle high school award winners. Um we appreciate that too. All right. If there's no further discussion, let's call the role. Ben Adam, >> Mr. Overton. Yes, >> Mrs. Totti. >> Yes, >> Mr. Fischer is

yes. Mrs. Green, >> yes. All right. Item number nine is to approve the five-year forecast related to assumptions as prepared by Treasurer Mark Phillips. Unfortunately, he's not here, but he did provide us with the the information. Um, this is timesensitive in the sense that we have to have it submitted within a certain period of time. So, we didn't need to go forward with this. So, can I have a motion to approve the five-year forecast? >> I'll make the motion. Adam makes the motion. Is there a second? >> Second. >> All right. Ben seconds. Is there any discussion? I think the big discussion is um when he presented the five-year forecast to us uh through our emails. Um there is a lot of um ambiguity of of property taxes, what that will do, how that's going

to look, and we're not going to be able to project. Um this he said this is the most unsure five-year forecast he's had in the sense that we don't know the future. So we have no idea it could be a lot different. So it's not something it's just something that we need to watch but also be aware of that legislative down in um Columbus could highly impact our five-year forecast. Right now it looks pretty good. >> All right. Do you want to add anything to that? >> Nope. >> All right. All right then. Let's call the role. >> Uh Mr. Fisher is yes. Mr. Overton, >> yes. >> Mrs. Green, >> yes. >> Mr. Totty, >> yes. >> All right. Number 10 is public participation for non-aggenda items. And again, we do not have any

at this time. So, we're going to move to item number 11, which is the announcement of our next regular board meeting, which is March 9th at 6 PM right here in the community boardroom. And then finally, number 12 is the >> before can we go back to one more announcement? There should have been one more announcement on here. I'm not sure if it didn't get saved or didn't printed, but uh there there's tentatively a works uh session, a special meeting for the purpose of a work session scheduled for Thursday at 5:00, probably in this room, but that will go out publicly online. Um so that's that's made it public. Uh but we just wanted to let you know that there's probably going to be a work session >> Thursday at 5:00 p.m. >> Thursday at

p.m. >> this Thursday at 5 p.m. >> Yes. >> All right. And then adjournment. So is there a motion? >> I'll make the motion. >> Second. And any discussion on that? All right, let's call the roll. >> Mrs. Salotti, yes. >> Mr. Overton, >> yes. >> Mr. Fischer, yes. Mrs. Green, >> yes. Thank you all for coming. We appreciate you guys. We congratulate the award winners and everyone drive safe home, please.
