Chad Smith or the head coach, Madison Hyest, assistant coach, and Scott Logger, volunteer coach. I'll move to Senator one more. >> I'm sorry. >> That's okay. >> That's our addition the point um designated designated bargaining team for 2628 classified bargaining. Um sounds like Sarah and Nicole are going to do that. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Okay. With that, I guess I'll move to approve the consent agenda as here. >> I'll second. >> Those in favor? >> I Okay, our smile club uh newsletter looks pretty good. I hope everyone time to check that out. But a lot of good stuff. >> Who heads this up? >> And I guess around the

back I show up ahead. Wonderful. uh delegations and presentations. Uh meet the teacher is our first there. Looks like we have a couple teacher you here to speak or just to watch. >> Perfect. >> That's been a few years. I think I know most of you trying to teach first grade this year. Great. >> How's that going? >> It's fun. They're keeping you on my toes. They're busy. You already gone back. >> I wasn't supposed to be here during >> supposed to be flying back from somewhere at all. >> That's okay. >> That was good. Title's good. >> Excellent. Mary, you want to? >> Yeah, I actually I have a little newsletter, but I'm sharing for our other science teacher as well. is unable to make it. Um, and she's doing some pretty cool stuff

with her classes that I have offered to share for her. So, um, I did want to share that our, um, Sam team got fourth place at the post. So, there's like 18 teams there. I'm just like set these over here. Um, so um, and I have some photos of those kids and my daughter who that was. Uh I won't share all her things, but she has a marine science class they do um exploring ocean life at this semester, but they've done like ship design um plans and they've done some uh seaweed based uh products. So they have kids that design like bofuels and there's a really really sweet uh lip balm that I student had designed a model for. So um some fun stuff. And then she also teaches astronomy. Um and she has a

biology class as well. So um there's some postcards filled with different um planets and stuff that the students will create. Uh I was going to share uh this just so more concise. Um I've got three classes here that um you can just actually I'll walk around. They're just a little blurb of the three science classes or newsletters. on the back is the uh the salmon bowl team and then a couple field trips we've done this uh semester last semester mostly so far. So yeah, forensic science and science research and uh physical science this project. So >> yeah, we're working on trying to get the kids out in the community more visit OSU. I think next week we'll be going to the coast to do some intertitle research with the one of our science research uh

student groups are going to be um collecting data out there with some faculty at OSU which is kind of cool. Um yeah, so any questions let me know. Thank you. >> Very nice. >> Appreciate your time. Thank you. Um if if your teachers want to go ahead and head home, you're welcome to, but you're also welcome to stay. So, thank you for your time. I know you've had a long day. Uh construction update, building inspection committee report. >> No update. Okay. Uh enrollment and attendance like we're up a smidge. uh administrative update. Um I normally we'll start the grade school. So Richard, yeah, I don't have a I don't feel like I really have a whole lot um as far as like cap in February. The paragraph is going on movie night. Sounds like that

went really well. Pretty well attended. Um coming up conferences first and second we moved our half day Friday to the end of Wednesday. Uh it seemed like it made more sense for parents instead of that because that 8 to noon Friday isn't very well attended anyway. So we took that half day move it to Wednesday hopefully give more parents an opportunity to come come to conferences to talk to their teachers. Uh and then we changed how the middle school is going to do theirs also. So, it's going to be a little more like a high school does it where they schedule time to meet with all the teachers at the same time as opposed to it. So, springtime we thought was a good time to experiment uh and see since it's not usually as well

to anyway. Um so, we'll see how that goes and see what we want to do for for next year. Uh and then the end of third quarter like I mentioned as far as sports boys basketball season finish. Um they played the highest level they could play in our league and I think they they finished about 500. Played one of the bigger schools eighth grade teams of Pleasant Hills, Crest Wells. Um and they they competed. They did a pretty good job. Um it's an athletic group. Track and field starts on Monday for practices and then their first events the I think. Um yeah, and then I finished pretty much all the midyear meetings with the the teaching staff. Really happy with the progress they're making. Uh they have all pretty much all been stated that their

their classes are ahead of where they hoping to be already. So that's good news. >> Good news. >> Uh yeah, really busy time for seniors right now just because of uh just rolled out the local scholarship packet. Uh the OSAC, the Betty Cav foundations, all these things are are time to apply. So they're seniors are inundated with a lot of things, not just finishing up their classes. Um and then senior projects kind of roll in after break. Uh we have about a week and then we do senior project presentations and that's kind of like the last like I think relief for them. So kind of a a fun time of year I think. And then always seems like the kids grow and like mature a lot in the springtime. So going on to bigger and

better things. Um dragon bride auction on Saturday. So, if you haven't heard or seen, then um it's I think it's about 4:00 4:30. So, a little bit. Yeah. Um coming up, so always a big community event support the high school athletics. Uh a couple things that um just to you may not have heard about, we have a few things going on. We took this took a group of kids to the LBCC manufacturing day. It's like a hands-on learning day where they they go through welding, machine tool, non-destructive testing, all these big programs that um I think a lot of our kids really enjoy that may not know about. I think every year we have at least one or two kids that never going to college and then they go to that event or want something

similar and they come back then it kind of changes their their thought. Maybe they can get trained into something and it's not just the model of school, they think. Um they're coming up um new to us, Mr. Monx, I think it's next weekend, maybe the following one, they're take he's taking a group of kids to a a welding competition at McManville High School. They said if you want to be a welder and then um kind of rolled this out, they jumped on it and uh he said he's definitely seen a an input of what higher output of work in class because of the I think the knowing that you're going to be judged on their wells and maybe have some time left. So that was a fun thing. Um and then you have a couple

other more LBC trips you don't have to health sciences is a new health fair that they're rolling out. There's always a few other things. Dino days that's coming up at the facility too. trying to get them exposed to just not just what we have in our walls but other places. >> But when you when you guys go do these things after the event, do you does a teacher do like a little survey or something for questionnaire to help get their input from student or just or is it just word of mouth? They're just talking. >> The the group that puts it on usually does a survey and then a lot of times they'll share the feedback with us. of the other ones we've done, they'll they'll do like some mock interviews or they'll meet with

panel members and they'll fill out little cards and then they kick us back on kind of things that they saw with our kids. And our every time I I go to those things, I I'm so thankful for our kids because they're like they just fit right in and they're well behaved and they kind of they act like young adults and it's really nice. >> Yes. >> Excellent, Bill. Uh the only update I have is that I've shared the the initial 4 day week survey results with you. You can review so far. Hasn't been out very long. Only a few days really since last week, but the response has been pretty good. Just over 100 for the parent survey and 45 for the teacher or the staff survey. Um pretty positive initial look. So like to

continue down that path. The support is there. >> Yeah. Yeah. Thumbing through this. It definitely looks like the vast majority is in support. What you guys think? I think we should plan a like a meeting about it. We want we want to do this for next school year. We need to get we need to get all. >> Yeah. I think we should plan tree. Okay. >> Suggestions after break unless you want to do it next week. >> Yeah. >> Do we want to get more >> more respons? >> You know, Bill, like on your Friday update, if you could say, "Hey, we got a lot more responses. Let's meet on this date if that works for everybody. Can we can Would that Would that be something or we need to set a date right now?

>> We need to set a date anyway. >> Yeah, I think >> we need to set the date now. So, >> and then Bill can still update this. >> Yeah. >> That way we all vote together. Um they're looking at I guess April, huh? >> Our April meeting the 13th. >> Yes. So we do the sixth or 30th of March. >> Mondays are tough. >> Okay. What days are better for you? That Thursday is good for me. Thursday and Wednesday. >> Okay. >> The night second or you could do it in that other week of April, too. >> No, I'd be good with the second. Grad school conferences are the second. >> What is that? What' you say? >> Grade school conferences. >> I say second. What time works best? >> I can be here

by 4:30 on two. >> What time you don't practice? >> 5:30. Let's do 5:30 time. No. >> Yeah. 5:30 the second probably >> I'm hearing positive things about just from what I heard so far. >> Okay. Old business. Uh reminder, March 15th, April through April 15th is the filing window. I skipped Nancy. >> It's even written right there. Nancy Griffin would like I'm sorry. 20 minute PowerPoint presentation. >> Perfect. >> Uh, no, I'm Nancy Griffith. I'm the assistant superintendent from LBL and this opportunity for us to come down and say hi. And if you have any questions or if you make questions later, Nancy Griffin is a person you can email. So, who I am? um anything about your local service plan or services that we provide. Happy to answer any of those now or

later. >> I would say we're very happy with ESD and the services they provide for us as a have a wide array of different things that we wouldn't be able to access easily without do a really good job. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> Thank you very much. >> Thank you for your time. back to old business. Sorry. Um that uh March 15th through April 15th is our filing window for our annual verified statement of economic interest. So any make sure everyone gets that done. >> Would you like me to send an email? >> Yes, please. >> Reminder, please. Thank you. >> Absolutely. >> Yeah. I don't know if the link >> Yeah. >> is easily accessible. >> I'll put that. >> That makes it nice. Sure. >> Um, new business, declaration of board vacancy

in zone one. So, zone one, it says there's a link to a map on here, but it also is kind of Monroe City for upper, I guess I'd say. Yeah. Runs out to Alpine cut off up the orchard track. Really stiff orchard track, not on the other side. Then down. >> Um, this is just something we drafted, right, Bill? Or >> Oh, this is policy. This is the policy. And then, uh, we talked to some other folks about, you know, their process for it. It needs to be open for 20 days according to policy. So, it gives us right in, you know, if we open it now, we can re readress it in April. um asking for a a letter of introduction from somebody that's interested why the applicant wants to serve, what experience or

perspectives they have, uh relevant experience, how they engage with other folks with varied viewpoints. We'll see what we get. And if at that point in time there isn't uh anyone that qualifies in that zone then you're able to go out and appoint for any zone. Uh either way it's a temporary position >> because this is a even year. It' be next year would be the election initial odd number years. So they would be in until June next year. Okay. Pending the bction. >> So as you get those, will you share those with us or Yeah. Great. Yeah. You know, it looks like my email's on there, too. So, if anyone reaches out through that, I'll pass it on. Okay. Okay. Then, next part is just the review of our appointment process and timeline, which is

kind of what we just did. >> I put that on the agenda, just so we could make sure that you were okay with the verbiage that was in there. you'll see that it's proposed. The headings says proposed. And I just wanted to give you the opportunity to take a good look at that and make sure you're like the way all that reads. Have you went through the steps to look at the map going through our website there? >> I have seen the map. Yeah. >> Okay. I just wanted to make sure it was fairly easy to get to and not a real hard problem >> on the website >> there. The process here or is that >> that's a hyperlink? Yeah. And the letter goes up on the website. >> We're trying to access it

through. >> Oh, okay. >> Um, do we have any public comment forms? >> Number dig through a little bit or you want to just keep going for it? Go for it. Well, I think with all that um we adjourn unless anyone had anything else they wanted to say. >> 625. Thanks. >> Thank you everyone for coming.
