You know, exploring the terms of didn't

tell me. He didn't tell me. >> He told me it could be happening, but take it natural. >> She's my guy. They said you're calling me. It's cute. Thank you. >> He's such a nice person. Um, yeah. Not here. That's why. So, should we say >> I think so. I think it private for the time being >> perfect. >> Good evening everyone. Uh, welcome to the February 19th regular voting session of the Black Rock School Board of Directors. At this time, could would you please stand and say the pledge of allegiance with me? >> Oh, wait. Thank you, Mr. Show. >> Do you want to sing, too? >> No one wants. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God,

indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Mr. Van, would you please call RO? >> Sure can. Mr. Klein >> here. >> Mr. McMullen. >> Mr. Sh >> here. >> Miss Smith >> here. >> Dr. Franker >> here. >> I am here. Mr. Wire >> here. >> Mr. Whistner >> here. >> Mr. Zach >> here. >> We have eight of nine now. >> Thank you very much. 1.4. There was an executive session prior to this night's meeting to discuss personnel safety and legal matters. We'll move on to >> Northport this evening. Thank you. >> Thank you. Moving on to administrators and the superintendent update. Uh we'll skip right to 2.2 to superintendent update. >> Um I don't have much of an update this evening. Um except pretty much everything we needed to say last week

or week before >> and yeah, thank you again for all of those wonderful presentations last week. It was or two weeks ago. Yeah, very very informative. The board really appreciated that. Thank you. >> Okay. Uh, agenda item three, public relations and communications. This is client. I'll >> read my normal script. Blackhawk takes great pride in our students achievements and in the extracurricular opportunities available across all grade levels. For the most up-to-date information on school happenings, please visit your school website. And I uh did not see that there was anyone who had signed up to comment on any agenda items. Agenda item five, Beaver County Career and Technology. Mr. McMillan is the lesson on there and we'll move on to Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit. We have a report. >> No report. >> 7.1. We'd like to

make a motion that we move the rest of the voting agenda items to consent agenda. You have a second. >> I'll second. >> Thank you, Mr. Show. Um, let's do questions and discussion on items 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14, and 15. It's a lot. So, I think there's a couple things that um we might have wanted to discuss a little bit. So, I'll I'll turn it over to the board for any questions or discussion. >> Maybe if Dr. Banana, could you speak to 14.1, our public facilities improvement grant resolution? >> Certainly, I'll speak to 14.1. Um, so the uh the state has put out a public school facilities improvement grant and um the district does plan on applying for that. Excuse me. But in order for us to apply for that, we

have to um approve a resolution intending what the grant is for. the grant um can be no more than five million, no less than 500,000 and the district has to commit 25% of funds um matching matching funds um to that. So um we were looked at the um our buildings and facilities that we have and what we could get um most appropriately, what building would fit that criteria. Um, our roofs are in pretty good condition with the exception of Patterson Elementary HBAC. Um, those criteria is roofing and windows, HBAC, um, safety, ADA compliance. Um, that is the main criteria for this grant. So, um, Patterson fits that bill with, um, roofing, HVAC, windows, ADA compliance. Um, so that was the focus for it. It's approximately $4.3 million um is what the grant is written for.

Um that commits the district to approximately a million dollars um if we received it all. I think that's um very pie in the sky um if we would get all of that. But if the state um would assist us and you know pay for a roof that would be great um or any other aspect um of that project. So that is what was written for that. There is a small section of roofing in the high school that need detention, but it the price is so small it didn't fit the criteria uh for that. Any other questions or comments on that grant or resolution? >> Yes, Dr. Vanetta, if we were to get that grant, are we obligated 100% that we need to act on that or is will there be another op opportunity for the

board to come together? the board would come together and and discuss that and have to accept that. But the resolution pretty much is committing you to to these things. Um modifications are always, you know, pending approval of the state, but that's that's what the grant will be written for. Um I'm not the grant would be awarded over the summer. So that would be the timeline. U we would know by the end of the summer, August, September, the amount. And um since that's kind of this is a new one for us, I'm not too sure if the state's going to say, "All right, we will approve X amount for this specific or if it'll be a blank amount and then the board can choose what the priority would it be roofing, would it be windows?" Um

we'll just have to see what what they say. >> Dr. Van, is there a time frame that that money has to be used by? It was 3 years. >> 2029 >> 209 >> 2029. >> Thank you. >> Mhm. >> Anything else on that one? >> Okay. Okay. So, we have a motion and a second to approve the full consent agenda, which would be 8.1 through 15.1. Do we have any other questions or discussion on any of those items? Okay, we'll move to all in favor I. >> Any opposed? Motion carries. A judge item 16, additional business. At this time 152, >> I would just like to um thank Mr. Argast for um some time session this evening. Um the board had an executive tour of both the Patterson facility and the Northwestern I'm sorry in

the business facility. Um so thank you so much for your time tonight and for taking us around those buildings. Um we all had a really nice time we did see the class and um seeing the spaces that our students are in and out of every day. So we appreciate that. Thank you Mr. Argas. The next meeting of the Blackhawk School Board of Directors is on March 12th, 2020. >> Do I have a motion for motion? >> Thank you, Mr. Show. A second. >> I'll second. >> Thank you, Mr. Wer. >> I opposed. Motion carried. What's golfing? What's um
