I'm Cameron McCormack, Council Rock North's freshman SAV representative. The clubs at North have been busy as always, and we have several exciting events just around the corner. For starters, on Monday night, our youngest reading Olympics team for the 2025 2026 season, consisting of three freshman and five sophomores, took first place at the annual Bucks County Reading Olympics competition, scoring over 60 points. Our junior and senior teams took second and third place, scoring in the 30s and 40s. FBLA, or the Future Business Leaders of America, participated in states in Hershey, PA over the weekend into early this week. 25 students ended in the range of 1st through 10th place and the

entirety of CRN FBLA was awarded first place for having the largest attendance in PA. AV Noble, Sri Alen Pali, and Ivan Lee placed first in their areas of the competition and 12 students qualified for nationals. Congratulations to everyone who attended. Our theater program, Sock and Buskin, is just a few days away from the chaos of tech week, but that means that they're almost ready to perform for the public. They will have their performances of Sweeney Todd from Thursday, April 30th through Saturday, May 2nd. Make sure to show up and support. Starting from this past Monday, April 20th until Tuesday, April 30th, our 2029 class officers are hosting a donation drive to support Cattails in Warrington. This is a no-kill shelter that supplies medical treatment and rehabilitation care to homeless and abandoned cats. Cattails is completely

volunteer staffed and donation funded. If anyone has connections with the student at North, our officers would greatly appreciate you sending them in with donations. Lastly, Minthon has their big end of the year celebration this Friday. To wrap up their school year of fundraising to help kids with pediatric cancer, they throw a big dance party for anyone who contributed. They will be incorporating events from Penn State University's thawn, such as the no sitting rule. Their event this Friday will be full of games, food, and raffles. At the end of the night, a reveal of the grand total of money raised this year will be shared. Great work, Minthon. All students at North are definitely ready for summer, but are striving to finish the school year on a positive note. Thank you. Hello and good evening. My

name is Payton Douly and I'm a 100 level student in the medical and health professions program at MBIT and a 10th grade student at Council Rock High School North. First up tonight, the National Technical Honor Society honors student achievements and leadership in career and technical education. 61 MBI MBIT students will be inducted in a ceremony held on Wednesday, April 29th in our cafeteria. Next, our two media associates along with four student influencers, including me, represented MBIT at the Pennsylvania State Capital on April 22nd for CTE Day. This opportunity allows students to advocate for CTE while showcasing the powerful role of the student voice in telling the MBIT story. Next, over the course of a 4-day latter pulooa training held in the cafeteria, students from the construction, carpentry, building trades, and plumbing and heating technology programs

demonstrated an outstanding commitment to safety and skill development. This collaborative effort brought together students across all three programs to focus on proper ladder usage, safety protocols, and hands-on application. As a result of their hard work and dedication, students earned a total of 158 ladder safety certifications, highlighting both their technical growth and their readiness to apply these essential skills in real world world settings. Next, NOCTI or National Occupation Competency Testing Institute performance testing was held on Monday, April 13th. The exam is a nationally recognized assessment that measures the knowledge and skills of career and technical education students. It includes both written and performance-based components evaluating industry specific competencies. Successfully completing the NOCTI demonstrates that students are career ready and equipped with the skills employers value. Next, students from Middle Institute of Technology demonstrated outstanding performance at

the recent Skills USA state competition held in Hershey. Competing across multiple categories, MBIT students earned a total of four gold medals and two silver medals, reflecting a high level of skill, preparation, and professionalism. Gold medal recipients have qualified to advance to the Skills USA National Leadership and Skills Conference, which will take place in Atlanta this June. This achievement highlights both individual student excellence and the strength of the school's career and technical education programs. The success at the state level is a result of the dedication and hard work of the students as well as the continued support and guidance provided by MBIT staff and instructors. Lastly, automate automotive technology students achieved a first place finish at the UTI top tech challenge, demonstrating exceptional technical skill, focus, and application of real world training. This accomplishment reflects a

student's commitment to excellence to excellence and their ability to perform at a high level in a comp competitive industry aligned environment. Their success is a direct result of dedicated preparation, strong work ethic, and the support of their instructors. Thank you for taking the time to stay updated on all the exciting happenings at Middle Institute of Technology. Be sure to follow us on all social media to keep up with the latest news, achievements, and events at NBIT. Thank you. Great. Thank you. And we look forward to hearing from you, I believe, one more time in May. It's a combined. >> We'll be here in May to recognize our seniors of both North and South. >> Great. Thank you. Thank you, Council. >> Thank you very much, EVERYBODY. >> We have next uh the superintendent report. >>

Thank you, Miss Khan. Welcome and good evening to the board of school directors, to the staff and community members joining us tonight, and those tuning in on the Council Rock YouTube channel. Thank you to Llaya Sheman for leading us in the pledge of allegiance and to the New Town Elementary School String Quartet led by Michelle Bavaso for their musical performance. And to Mr. Jason Tuskevich, Council Rock High School North principal and the student advisory board for their monthly report on events and activities at Council Rock High School North. Tonight on the agenda, you'll see the Council Rock retirement class. Though their names are highlighted on the agenda tonight, we will properly recognize and celebrate our class of retirees during the May board meeting. I'd like to thank each and everyone on that list for their

years of dedicated service to our students and our community and wish them well in their future endeavors. But again, we will properly recognize uh and celebrate our retirees in May. As we enter the fourth marking period, classrooms remain focused and purposeful even as signs of spring bring a renewed sense of energy among our students. There's a strong sense of momentum across the district and it is encouraging to see our students and staff working with focus, purpose, and a positive spirit. Looking forward, planning for the 2026 2027 school year is also underway. The budget process continues as we carefully review expenditures and seek responsible ways to manage cost while maintaining the strength of our educational program. April is also Autism Acceptance Month, a powerful reminder of the importance of understanding and respect for all individuals with

autism. Across Council Rock, we continue to celebrate the strengths of our students in the autistic support programs and beyond. And we remain committed to creating environments where every student can thrive. A reminder that tomorrow, April 24th, report cards will be available on the home access center, which you can find on the opening page of our website. Finally, with the warmer weather and extended daylight hours, we encourage parents and families to help students stay focused so they finish the year strong. Spring fever can be contagious, and we know there are many competing priorities outside of the school day. However, with your guidance and support, we are sure that the end of the school year will be as exciting and energizing for our students as the start of the school year. It's also hard to believe that

as of today, there are fewer than 40 school days remaining until summer break. This evening we can confirm that the class of 2026 graduation date and last day of school for students in grades three grades K through 11. Commencement ceremonies for the class of 2026 will be held on Tuesday, June 16th. Ceremonies begin for Council Rock High School North students at 400 pm in Walt Snider Stadium and for Council Rock High School South students at 6 PM in the gymnasium. In the event of inclimate weather, alternate arrangements have been and will continue to be announced as we grow closer to the graduation date. Parents and students of Council Rock High School North, please pay extra attention for graduation information in the event of inclimate weather. The last day of school for students in grades K

through 11 will be Thursday, June 18th, which will be half day for students. Once again, the last student day is June 18th, which will be a half day for students. And for those who like to plan ahead, a reminder that Council Rock School is open on Monday, August 31st, August 31st, for students in grades K through 6, 7 and 9. And all students grades K to 12 report on Tuesday, September 1st. I'm going to ask for a temporary pause and a rewind with our graduation dates. Mr. Funk, what date is graduation? June 16th. >> June 16th. I think I may have said June 17th when I was saying it. >> And so let me let me rewind. Graduation is June >> 16th. And the last student day >> is June 17th. I think I may

have said the 18th in there. So the 16th is graduation. The 17th is the last student day. Thank you for catching that. Parents, please mark your calendars with these important dates and look for additional information from your school principal and in the rock report. State testing is underway. This week marks the opening of our state testing window beginning with the administration of the PSSA exams in grades three through six. The Pennsylvania Department of Education mandates that these test mandates these tests as opportunities for students to demonstrate their academic growth over the course of the year. The community may be aware of a statewide glitch experienced by the testing platform DRC. But fortunately with advanced planning here in Council Rock, our students were able to complete the testing without any problems. PSSA testing continues into next

week and Keystone testing for secondary students will be held in May. Remember that a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast can go a long way in f in fueling your child, especially on testing days. Every three years, districts across the Commonwealth develop a plan and request permission from the Pennsylvania Department of Education to use up to five flexible instructional days throughout the year. These asynchronous instructional days are used when weather or other emergency conditions necessitate that students learn from home. Since we no longer build weather related days into our school calendar, tonight we will ask the board for their consideration to allow the administration use of flexible instructional days when necessary as the council rock plan submitted to PDE has been approved. The approved 2026 2027 school calendar is available on our website at

www.crsd.org. Included in tonight's agenda, we are asking the board to consider approval of a contract with the Council Rock Educational Support Professionals Association or affectionately known as Crespa, which earlier this week was rat which earlier this week ratified a five-year agreement with the district. We ask for the board's support of this agreement in recognition of these essential of the essential role our support staff plays across Council Rock. From recess aids, hall monitors and maintenance staff to teaching assistants, administrative assistants, and many others. These employees help ensure our schools run effectively and the students are supported each day. Their work is fundamental to the strength and stability of our district. This five-year agreement reflects a collaborative effort between CresPa and the district and was reached in a spirit of mutual respect and good faith. Supporting the

well-being of our students, families, and the broader community remains an important part of Council Rock's work. On Tuesday, May 20th, the district will offer QPR training for community members at the Star Center. This opportunity is intended for parents, family members, and caregivers, and is designed to provide practical guidance for recognizing when someone may be struggling, engaging in a supportive conversation, and connecting that individual with appropriate help and resources. We encourage those interested in strengthening their ability to support others with care, confidence, and compassion to attend. Seating is limited and registration information will be shared in the coming weeks on the district website and in the rock report. Tonight we are asking the board for consideration in approving a very generous donation from the Council Rock North Band Parents Association. The association is would like to

donate a Council Rock North customized trailer emlazened with district and school logos which will proudly transport band equipment for many years to come. We offer our sincere thanks on behalf of the district to the Council Rock North Band Parents Association for their work and fundraising in support of this purchase and for ensuring that students will benefit from this impressive donation in the years to come. This is a reminder that student registration for the 2026 2027 school year is now open. All required information, instructions, and forms are available on the district website at www.crsd.org. Families in need of translation support are invited to attend a special registration session next Wednesday, April 29th, at the Chancellor Center. Language interpretation and assistance will be available to support the registration process. If your child will be new to Council

Rock or entering kindergarten in September, we encourage you to register as soon as possible to ensure ensure a smooth start to the new school year ahead. Our website construction is progressing nicely and we are on target to go live July 1st. Thanks to the skill of our talented web masters, the new site is shaping up nicely. On behalf of our entire bargaining unit, I want to take a moment to express our sincere appreciation to our superintendent Dr. Senko, to the members of the Council Rock School Board, and to the solicitors um

that helped us so much along the way. Reaching a collective bargaining agreement is never a simple task. Um it takes time, patience, and a genuine commitment to listening and collaboration. This agreement reflects that commitment. It represents not only thoughtful negotiation, but also a shared understanding of the needs of our staff and the importance of supporting those who serve our students every day. We believe this contract moves us forward in a positive way and provides meaningful benefits across our entire bargaining unit. We are especially grateful for the professionalism respect that was shown throughout this process. Even when conversations were challenging, there was a clear focus on working together to find solutions. That spirit of cooperation makes a huge difference, not just at the table, but in the strength of our schools as a whole. Tonight, we

recognize that this agreement is more than a document. It's a foundation for continued partnership. We look forward to building on this work together with a shared goal of supporting our staff and ensuring the best possible environment for our students. Thank you again for your time, your effort, and your commitment to us, the students, and this process. And I also want to share a personal thank you to Ron Springs and to Tony Rap. Your patience and guidance for us was invaluable. Um, we changed a lot of things. We got a lot of language cleared up and we are truly appreciative of the ultimate respect and professionalism you showed to all of us. So, thank you. >> Thank you ladies. Congratulations. We'll see you in the morning. All right, that was wonderful. Thank you. Okay, now back

to the education committee. Uh we'll follow along back on the agenda. Um we have uh I will be reporting out the education committee this month. Uh the education committee met on March 26th. On the agenda were special education programs and curriculum updates, continued audit discussion for special education um and our annual textbook resource review and approval um as well as the review and discussion of the flex flexible instructional day application required by PTE that Dr. Senko mentioned in a superintendent report this evening. As previously mentioned, the district is currently piloting three special education programs for both elementary and middle school until the end of this school year with possible implementation across the district for the 202627 school year. The programs are Robocind, which uses a multiensory approach to instruction and numeracy and phonics for students

with IEPs. Do the math for both elementary and middle schools to be used as a targeted intervention program with essential number sense and problem solving skills. And finally, Go Math, a full comprehensive math curriculum aligned to academic stand standards for our K to6 students. I look forward to hearing about the updates from these programs and potential implementation in Council Rock for the next school year. Thank you to Dr. Oberman and Miss Serene for taking the initiative to see a need in our special education programming and looking for solutions. An update on our Wilson training for teachers. The first cohort will be finishing the their level one certification at the end of this school year. These teachers will then move on to level two certification in the upcoming 202627 school year. The initiative began last year

when the district committed to having a Wilson certified or in training certified in training teacher at each of the elementary schools and I believe the middle schools as as well. We are looking to looking forward to having a new cohort of teachers to begin the level one certification for next school year. I want to thank those teachers who are willing to take the time to get this additional certification. I know it is a lot of work over several years but our students will definitely benefit and we thank you for that. We continued the special education audit disc discussion. Dr. Oberman came back with early findings of third parties companies who would who could do the work for the district. It was discussed that the initial scope of looking into IEPs is a great place to

start. But in order to get the most benefit of the audit while being fiscally responsible is to extend the to expand the scope of the audit to include looking at our K to22 programming and system systems as a whole in special education. I appreciate the administration um offering this suggestion. Next steps will include defining actionable recommendations um and writing an RFP. The textbook review process is underway for the usual 30-day review period to anyone who wishes to view them before the uh the board approval next month. The textbooks and programs piloted this year and up for approval um in next month will be for the 2026 and 27 school year include um science program for grade 1 uh grade seven and academic chemistry in high school as well as accel accelerated math and math honors

algebra 1 and accelerated geometry for the high school courses. This evening we have an item G the approval of the flexible instructional day application as a roll call item. The application, as Dr. Sangle stated earlier, is due every three years. Um I believe this year we utilize three of the five. Um the application due to this state allows the district to continue or to count on instructional days as school days um due to due to a weather emergency or um other emergency related closure. In previous years, the district built in the weather related uh closure the end of the school year, but we are no longer follow that model. Um this was actually discussed at the committee meeting um and was decided to be content a consent item but due to the nature of the

state requirement for the application we decided to pull that as a consent item. Um I also believe at the last education committee meeting I I know Dr. S clarified it that the last day for students is June 17th and um June 18th for staff. Um thank you and this concludes my report. The next education committee meeting will be held on April 30th at 7 p.m. here at the Chancellor Center. Uh I move to approve consent agenda items B through F as contained in the attachments to this agenda. Can I get a second? >> Second, you miss Rickert. Uh questions and comments from the board. Great. Um if we can mark that unanimous board secretary. All right. Right. So, item G, that's the approval of the flexible instructional uh program application that's due to the Pennsylvania

Department of Education. Um, it's a recommended action item from the administration. So, I am going to go ahead and move to approve the approval of the flex flexible instructional day program application to to PTE. Um, can I get a second to that motion, please? >> Second. >> Thank you, Miss Oeki. questions or comments from the board regarding that? Okay. And we will do a roll call vote, please. Board Secretary. >> Mr. Tate, >> yes. >> Mr. Hidalgo, >> yes. >> Mr. Roosevelt, >> yes. >> Miss Osaki, >> yes. >> Miss Khan, >> yes. >> Miss Stone, >> yes. >> Miss Rickert, >> yes. >> Mr. Green. >> Yes. >> Okay. Eight. Yes. Zero. No. >> Great. Thank you. Um, we will move on to item H, the Bucks County Inter intermediate unit 22. Representative. So,

the Bucks Intermediate Unit met this past Tuesday, April 21st, evening at the the IU in Doylestown. Uh, as always, there are many things going on at the IU. Just like our district, they had uh several action items that were needing for board approval for various uh service agreements and contracts. It's just that time of year. As part of the new ad hoc committee for advocacy for state and federally um funded programs, part of the responsibility of the group is to educate and inform our community members. The newly formed committee will meet each month before the scheduled IU board meeting. Um, I'd like to thank the several Bucks County IU staff members present to show their support of this newly formed committee. This first meeting was planned to explain some of the funding models, the various

programs and services for the early childhood programs in the county supported by the IU. Presentations about the different uh funding streams were explained regarding birth to five which comes from the state. Um 0 to2 is specifically funded by by the Bucks County um offices here in in in Bucks County. The IUs in Pennsylvania service um school age or age ch school age children 3 to five which has a very complex um funding structure from both the state and federal government. Uh school districts become responsible once students enter um kindergarten through 22 and the PIUS are responsible for special education funds being sent to districts from the state and the federal government. Uh we continue to learn more. Again, it's a it's a very complex um funding stream and and I guess educating ourselves and the

community is the first process before we can advocate. Uh again, if any family is still looking for summer camps, I just looked at their website and the Fab Lab summer camp enrollment is still open. They're at about 70% full, but there are still um several weeks of of classes um summer camps that are available. Um, I also want to put out there for teachers and staff who are looking to take professional development classes over the summer or any time to check out the IU offerings. They offer many asynchronous online courses including struct in including structured literacy sporting students with autism and education and a newly approved uh PA Department of Education program for social emotional and behavioral wellness um SEBW. Um as well as anyone interested in attaining a a classroom monitor permit which I

learned is a permit that is required to um be responsible for students in a classroom. They don't teach or do anything with curriculum, but they're able to oversee students in a classroom. Um, please check all of this out and all the other offerings that uh that the IU offers at their website at bucksiu.org. Thank you. This concludes my report. Um, I believe in the schedule it stated that May 19th would be the next board uh IU meeting, but it's actually going to be Monday, May 18th at 7 p.m. at the intermediate unit due to the primary elections on May 19th. Thank you. All right, the Middle Books Institute of Technology representative, Miss Ricker. >> Yes, thank you, Miss Khan. So, I'm going to give the MBIT update on behalf of Misser and myself for this

month. Um, I have learned that the administrative director, Dr. Kovll, likes to start all his meetings off with joy. So, I'm going to re reiterate some joy that the student representative Payton Douly shared. Um, there we have big celebrations for the Skills USA competition. So this was the state competition and as Payton mentioned um MBIT students brought home four gold medals and two silver medals. So it was a very successful competition for them and they will be heading to nationals in Atlanta this June. So just a big shout out to all the students and the staff that really put a lot of time and effort into this competition. Some April celebrations uh that we wanted to call out. It was welding. It's welding month paraprofessional appreciation day. It is read across America, World Autism Awareness,

World Health Day, and Earth Day. So, MBIT had a variety of different activities going on to recognize all of those. The primary focus for the MBIT board this past month has been the budget. As we have seen enrollment at MBIT and for career CTE overall increase um across Bucks County, the demand increases for a few programs at MBIT. So there is a need to expand the medical and health program and we will be doing that by adding an additional teacher for the 2627 school year. This is really a positive move forward because it will allow more students to participate and will help support the future staffing needs of our local healthcare facilities. So we have been working on the budget for that and final finalizing things by the June timeline. Another thing that I want

to call out is there is a studentled restaurant called Aspirations and that is now open. Um, reservations are extremely limited. So, make sure you call ahead and get your reservation. But this restaurant is an opportunity for the culinary students at MBIT to really gain hands-on experience in hosting, preparing, cooking, serving, and managing all aspects of the dining experience. So, it's really a unique opportunity for the students to put into practice what they are learning in the classroom. Another thing to call out is Little Bucks Preschool is accepting applications for the 2627 school year. And this program is available for children ages 18 to 5 years old. Space is limited, so um those that want to enroll should definitely submit an application. And then lastly, we will have student recognition for senior graduation at William Tennant

High School. That will be on Monday, June 8th at 6:30 p.m. And another reminder for MBIT seniors to submit your student spotlight sharing what your next chapter holds so we can celebrate the success of all of the MBIT graduating seniors. Our next MBIT executive committee meeting will be this upcoming Monday on April 27th. And that concludes my report. >> Thank you, Miss Rickard. Uh, moving on to policy committee, we have Miss Osaki. Oh, I'm sorry. Oh, I'm so sorry, Mr. Mr. Tate. >> That's quite all right. >> All right. So, Council Rock Education uh Foundation Leon, Mr. Tate, >> fully. >> I was ready to read it for you because I was >> That's right. You were. Thank you. Um All righty. Council Rock Education Foundation is looking forward to scheduling prize patrol in the

coming weeks. That's always a fun part of the season where uh we visit classrooms to announce and surprise this year's innovation learning grant winners and recognize them in their school communities. Um currently the the the grants in action visits are still going on for this year's grant recipients. And um there was a visit on April 15 to a a program called Beautifification Through Botany. It highlighted student learning through science stewardship and school pride at Council Rock North. On April 16, Accounting for Our Future gave students at Council Rock South the opportunity to build practical financial literacy skills. And April 20, the composer and residents brought students together with a professional composer for a unique creative experience culminating in a concert that's coming up on May 28th. And April 21, we had the opportunity to visit

a grant still in action after several years of success at Holland Elementary where students created interactive biomes by coding micro:bit powered robotics. So, thank you to everybody who joined for those and appreciate everybody who supports CF for that effort. Um, of course, my favorite, the CF Golf Classic is coming up on June 15. Um, individual golfers are welcome, forsomes are welcome. Uh, that's a fantastic golf course. Jericho National um is a really a worldclass course. And there's other ways to get involved including sponsorships, uh, attending the reception and volunteering. And finally, um, if I can scroll, yes, we are looking for volunteers for the marketing committee for the Council Rock Education Foundation. It's a great opportunity for anyone interested in skills-based volunteering to help with outreach and community engagement through marketing to support the foundation's

great work. So, thank you everyone for your continued support of the Council Rock Education Foundation and the many ways it helps bring educator initiative ideas to life. Thank you. >> Thank you, Mr. Tate. Uh, okay. So, now policy committee, Mr. Seki. >> Sure. Thank you. Uh, the policy committee did not meet in April, but uh, mark your calendars. We're meeting on uh, May 4th, 700 p.m. here at the Chancellor Center. >> Thank you. All right. the facilities committee report. I believe it's Miss Don. >> Yes. >> Hi. Um the facilities committee met on Thursday, April 9th. And first we discussed the uh New Town Elementary School addition and renovations and the Holland Middle School additions and revel renovations. uh Schradera Group and Boil Construction representatives gave a full presentation and the main goal of the

New Town Elementary project is to modernize the building structures, separate the bus and parent traffic, create a secure main entrance and provide full building fire protection, upgrading the facilities also to meet uh current ADA standards. Um there will be modular classes needed during this pro uh project which is scheduled to begin March of 2027 and completed by August 2029. Um younger students should not be impacted during the construction as only the older students fifth and sixth graders will be assigned to these modular classrooms. And then in discussing Holland Middle School project, um the main goal there is to increase the capacity of the cafeteria, the number of classrooms, lockers and toilet rooms to accommodate approximately additional 50 students. Most of the cafeteria construction will be scheduled during the summer to minimize disruption and additional classroom

construction will not affect student instruction. Um, this is planned to begin March 2027, completed by August 2028, and all families will be notified of changes before the construction begins. Um, the following items are being approved this evening, including the playground renovations at Churchville, Good Goodno, Rolling Hills, and Welsh Elementary, including the shade structure at Churchville. These should be completed during the summer. Uh then we are also going to approve uh new wrestling mats for Council Rock South. Um there's maintenance and service bids for kitchen exhaust systems, wood gym and other floors and Johnson Controls chillers. Roof roof repairs at um Council Rock North and some masonry repairs at South. And the next facilities committee meeting will be Thursday, May 7th. And so I move to approve consent agenda items B through K as cons contained

in the attachment to this agenda. >> Second. >> Thank you, Miss Stone and Mr. Tate. Um I think I just wanted to note it was item C. Um Oh, sorry. Was there any questions or comments from the board regarding the consent consent agenda items B3 through K? >> Okay. I just wanted to know I know there was some um communication that we had received from Dr. Senko um and Mr. Rap and Miss Binda. I know we had some discussion about this at our facilities committee meeting last month. So we're rejecting item C which is the bids for the Holland Middle School cafeteria carpet replacement and the bathroom towel installation at this current time. But it is something that administration after discussion, board discussion at the facilities committee meeting that they will bid that when we

are doing the renovations at Holland Middle School. So it just seems to make sense financially. >> Thank you. >> Correct. If I could just comment and then Tony can jump in. The the cost was several hundred,000 and at the committee meeting there is no urgency at all to get um the bathrooms tiled at the Holland Middle School. And when we talked with the person, the group that won the bid, we talked about breaking out the carpet replacement versus the tile replacement. And we just decided that it's best to wait to do this one time, do it right, and do it when the um uh when the when the renovation takes place at Holland Middle School. And that came uh out of discussion at the committee meeting. So, thank you. >> Thank you for that, Dr.

Senko. Okay, we're moving on to finance committee and I believe that's Oh, I'm sorry, Mr. Rap. >> Yeah, we took under advisement the board's recommendations or thoughts on that project and and decided it would be better to move it to the to the construction project. Um, we will uh add some maintenance to the carpeting uh in the cafeteria so that that is cleaner during the period leading up to the renovation start. >> Great. Thank you. And I believe that was that construction is set for a year from now. Is that approximately the time? >> A little less than a year from now. >> Right. Thank you. And no, that was a great discussion. >> And that that's active construction. We're well into planning phase right now. So there so the project is going on. It's

just hasn't been, you know, the actual construction. >> Correct. All all the background work. Thank you. Um. Yes. Okay. Wait, what do we need to vote on was consent? Yeah. Yes. It was just FYI. >> It was consent agenda items B through K. >> We don't have a motion. Oh, I'm sorry. >> I thought there was a second. >> There was >> Oh, okay. All right. So, my apologies. Um, so we need Can we just redo that? Uh, Miss Stone, I thought we needed >> There's a motion in a second. I would just say noction. says no. Okay. Okay. Okay. Sorry. >> No objection here. >> Okay. Thank you, Mr. Hardgo. All right. Was there any objections to the consent agenda items B through K? All right. Um, seeing none, board secretary, if you'd mark

that as unanimous. Sorry. Thank you. I got carried away with discussion there. Um, finance. Miss Stone. Well, um we did already speak about the negotiations with Crespa and again uh we'll thank Mr. Spring and Mr. um Rap for working on these contracts. Um, we also t already spoke about the Council Rock High School North Band. Um, the parents of the organization who over the years have managed to raise funds to purchase this trailer. Uh, this was not a shortterm um project and they have been investing these donated funds over the years and built the this account of almost $100,000. So, we really are grateful for this um substantial donation. The annual trips for Council Rock High School North and South have been decided for next year and the South orchestra will be going to Paris,

France, and the North band will be going to Toronto, Canada. And both trips are scheduled for March of 2027. Um details on costs and itinerary will be made available to the families. Um Dr. Oberman came and presented to us uh training that's being arranged for up to 12 staff members to become registered behavior techni technicians or RBTs to assist our board certified behavior analysts in special ed. So the plan is to have two RBTs at each um elementary school reducing the need for third-party recruitment of these professionals. So training is being arranged through um the intermediate unit. We're also going to be approving the renewal of ADL lumen cyber security contract which will include protection for the additional 900 laptops that have been purchased for our seniors. Um, yes, work has begun on our annual

budget for the 2627 school year and Mr. Rap presented preliminary figures for the anticipated revenues and expenses and discuss the present fiscal environment that's being taken into consideration in developing the budget. So we need to recognize that although revenue from local taxes is anticipated to increase the following also are factors about 72% of the budget is basically fixed attributed to salaries and benefits. Um the state revenue is expected to decrease probably close to $2 million. Federal access funds have been decreased. Health care costs have increased by 5% and most other costs have increased above the act one index which is maxed at three and a half% and that's down from 4% uh last year and is anticipated to decrease again next year. So there's also because of anticipated federal rate cuts, it's in anticipated that

there will be a decrease in our return on investments. Um, and we are also faced with preparing for anticipated capital improvements that are planned in the next 10 years. So our next budget meeting will be scheduled and announced shortly, and we're planning for a final budget approval at the June 18th board meeting. so we can meet the June 30th deadline for the 2627 budget. Um, our next finance meeting will be on May 14th. And as we have already approved item L, I move to approve consent agenda items B through K as contained in the attachments to this agenda. >> Second. Thank you, Miss Stone and Miss Rickert. Board questions and comments and consent agenda items. Anyone on the phone? >> Oh, Mr. Osaki, >> just congratulations to the Council Rock North band. That was an

amazing amazing work. Yes, they came uh I believe at the last finance committee and um were recognized for that very generous donation and I'm very happy for the council rock north band as well. Thank you. Um so board secretary if we'd mark that as unanimous. Thank you. Okay, we are on to public comment part two. Um non-aggenda items. I don't have anyone signed up. Uh there's only a few in the audience, but is there anyone that wish to speak on non-aggenda items? All right. I don't see any um board new business from the board. I don't hear anyone on the phone. Old business from the board. >> Can I just make one one comment? >> Sure, Miss Stone. Um, I went again to the New Town Middle School Holocaust Museum, which was the first two

weeks of April. I didn't hear it mentioned, and uh, again, I was impressed. Um, informative, thoughtful, and obviously very sobering experience. And, uh, I hope that they continue this project. The students did a fantastic job. >> Thank you, Miss Stone. I echo that as well. and I um had invited some of our new board members that weren't quite uh aware and I again I think it's my third or fourth fifth year of attending and every year it's a little bit different but just as you know that impact is is amazing every year and I do like the addition of the uh the dedication of the daffodil garden. I thought that was a really lovely way and I had two wonderful curators that walked through the entire process and we had a great conversation along the

way as well. Um, and that was for uh I believe L uh Lucy and Rory that were my curators. Um, any other old business matters of the board on the phone? Was there anyone that wanted to speak on the on the phone? Mr. Adalo or Mr. Green? >> Appreciate it. Thank you. >> Thank you, Mr. >> Thank you, Mr. Green. >> Sure, Dr. Senko. >> Thanks. So, I've had the privilege to go to every Holocaust museum that we've had in Council Rock since Miss Demp Demskis started it. uh each year it seems to get better. Um and I don't know how you gauge that. Every year it's just as moving and I know for some of our new cabinet members, we made it part um part of a a cabinet meeting. we went through together

and I know Ronnie and Joe it was their first time through and uh you haven't had that experience and that pleasure uh to see the work of the kids and um just some jaw-dropping um things that the the kids have interpreted and recaptured for our community. So, so, um, I want to shout out to the curators, the students, to Tim Long, and to Aaron Demskis at New Town Middle. >> All right. Thank you, Dr. Senko. Uh, if there are no other comments or questions, um, well, good luck to all of our high school students taking the Keystones in the upcoming weeks and PSSA testing continues next week. Good luck to all of the students. Um have a wonderful evening and we will see you in May. Meeting adjourned. Thank you. Good night everyone.
