001Good evening. I would now like to call this January 20 22nd 20 26 excuse me regular board meeting to order. Can we all stand for the pledge? stands nationisible. >> I'll now ask board members to read the district mission and goals. The mission of the school district of Havford Township is to educate and to inspire a community of lifelong learners who become well-rounded global citizens. District goals are academic excellence in an evolving world. We are future ready learners who preserve, adapt, problem solve, think critically, and are supported by engaging learning experiences and intentional use of technology. Belonging. Honor every individual's inherent dignity through equitable, inclusive, and diverse practices. Social emotional growth with a learning community that that prioritizes social emotional wellness as a foundation for academic success, resilience, and strong relationships. Community pride and civic

002engagement empower students to be active, responsible, and contributing citizens through shared responsibility and community partnerships. >> Thank you, Mr. Tesla. Will you call the role, please? >> Mr. Flagler, >> here. >> Miss Lee, >> here. >> Dr. McCay. >> Mr. Schwarz here. Miss Nris >> here. >> Miss Snder >> here. >> Miss Weedman >> here. >> Dr. Shelton >> here. Dr. King >> present. Dr. McKay is absent due to travel. We'll now continue to section two student reports. First up, we have Halford Middle School student representative Corborn. >> My name is Cora Osborne and I'm in sixth grade. On behalf of HMS, I'd like to begin by recognizing that January is schoolboard appreciation month. Thank you for giving your time and expertise to lead and support the staff, students, and families in our community. Your

003dedication helps make our district and school a great place to learn and grow. This month, we also celebrated Crossing Guard Appreciation Day. We would like to thank all of our crossing guards for being kind, dependable, and for helping us and for helping keep us safe every day as we arrive and leave school. There there's a lot happening at HMS right now. It is winter concert season and it feels like there's a concert every week. In fact, our seventh grade and eighth grade winter concert is happening this evening. students and teachers have been working hard to prepare and we are excited to share our music with our families and community. Athletic teams continue to excel and our student athletes are really focused on both the personal goals and the team accomplishments. The commitment and sportsmanship are

004something to be proud of. Believe it or not, next Friday marks the midpoint of the school year for the middle school. Time has gone by quickly and students are continuing to grow academically and socially. As we look ahead, the beginning of February brings many opportunities to celebrate, including Black History Month, student count schools counselor appreciation week, and Groundhog Day. We're hoping for a snow day before spring arrives maybe next week. Thank you for your continued support of our school and our students. >> Thank you. The next high school student representative. >> Thank you. Good evening everyone. My name is Beatatric Cox and I'm a junior at the high school. Thank you to the board for allowing me to speak tonight and share with you all about what we have been up to. To start off,

005the students are finishing up their first semester with final exams next week on the 28th and 29th regardless of the possibility of snow days. Though I would like one on Monday as well. Exams are currently scheduled for 7:30 and 9:10 and all students are dismissed after their exams. There will be no school on January 30th since the teachers will be preparing for new students as they transition into the second semester. The beginning of the second semester will start on February 2nd with parents having the opportunity to visit their child's new classes on back to school night, which will be held on February 5th at 5:30 p.m. This past week, members of our Best Buddies Club have been fundraising for the annual Wing Bull competition, and we'll continue to do so until the 27th. Students can

006donate to the student and staff member that they want to see compete on February 6th, and all funds raised will go to the Best Buddies Club. I believe nine students and nine teachers are participating this year and it's overall a very fun event. That also makes me never want to eat wings again though. So, moving on to our sports news and our shoutouts. Our wrestling team finished second in the Central League Championship. Our cheerleading team, which is here tonight, finished top five in the state with the game t game day varsity team placing first. We will hear more about them later. The boys basketball team and ice hockey team have their senior night tonight as they play against Upper Derby and lower Marian. Good luck to them. From the high school, we had two Delo

007Times athletes with Cruz Corales as the boys soccer player of the year and Teddy Foster as the boys runner of the year. Huge congratulations to the two of them and to our other sports teams. Today there was a presentation for any current 11th grade students interested in applying to the medical careers program at the Delaware County Technical School for the 2026 to 2027 school year. All interested students who could not attend should get in contact with their counselors. The HHS counselors will also have a meeting for juniors and their families to discuss the common application, NViance, college visits, letters of recommendation, and the process of uh requesting transcripts on Wednesday, February 18th from 6:30 to about 7:30 p.m. at the auditorium. The high school will hold their second SAT school day for juniors on April

00814th. This is during the school day, and students can register in the guidance office or through a link in the weekly S'mores email. On February 19th, we will have an electives fair, which is a great opportunity for students to come and learn about new classes that they might be interested in taking in their future years of high school. Class scheduling will happen around the same time at the end of February. So, this is the perfect time, especially for underassmen, but really for all students who are interested in learning about electives courses. Last year, I went to the fair and heard about the criminal justice course, and I'm so glad I went because it became one of my favorite, most interesting classes right away. Be sure to join us for our spring sports night on Thursday,

009February 19th at 6 PM, also in the auditorium to learn important information regarding spring sports. Lastly, the Science National Honor Society will have their annual induction ceremony for their new members on Tuesday, February 17th at 9:00 a.m. in the high school library. That's it for now. Thank you again to the board for allowing me to present and thank you all for your attention. I hope everyone stays safe with the incoming weather and of course go fors. >> Thank you both for your remarks. Next up, we'll go to the section three for the superintendent report. Dr. Hayes, >> thank you Dr. King and thank you Beatatric and Kora. Um I'm going to first turn it over to Mr. Dina uh for some high school student athlete recognitions. Good evening everyone. Uh tonight we are here to

010celebrate two Harford High School athletic programs that represent the Harford community community proudly as citizens, students, and athletes. These two programs are high achieving in the classroom and on their respective field or MAT. And tonight they are representing the school district of Harford Township both as PIAAA District 1 champions. Yeah, this is a tremendous and challenging achievement that speaks volumes about the coaching staffs, the student leadership as well as their dedication and hard work. We also know that it's bigger than sports. um for a community as hardworking and proud and and close as ours. Uh being bigger than the sports start at the dinner table. Um so we have two siblings here tonight, both from cheer and soccer that both are wearing a district one medal. Um yeah. Yep. Um so uh there you go.

011Thank you. An Q and a Deacon. Um can we give it up for the Moleharn siblings? Thank you. Um the first program that we're here to celebrate tonight is the group who celebrates everyone else but takes no credit. So tonight we will platform them appropriately. Uh we were not sure if they were going to be able to make their own party tonight uh as they were busy celebrating unified botchi senior day yesterday, wrestling senior night last night, and they just got here from the boys basketball senior night tonight. All of which is outside of their own practice time when they are working tirelessly to tirelessly to not just cheer loudly uh but stunt, tumble, fly through the air, all in preparation for their upcoming trip to nationals. The cheer program this year has won multiple

012competitions, finished second place at the Central League Championship, top five in the state of Pennsylvania, first if we ended on day one. Uh but most importantly, in 2026, they earned the title as PIAAA District 1 champions. This is the sixth district 1 championship in seven years and they have officially covered every inch of wall space in the Harford High School East Commons aka the cheer mecca with championship banners. So the Harford cheer program is uh as much about service as they are about winning. And the Harford cheerleaders are what we like to call sort of the front porch of our high school. They are intelligent, hardworking, loud and proud. Most importantly, they are kind. And for those reasons, we are very happy to celebrate you tonight. Yeah. Here to represent the 2026 PIAA District 1

013Championship, Harford High School Lady Fords are the following student athletes. So, I'll call your names. If you want to come up to the podium, we actually have certificates for you as well, but we'll hand those out in the hallway. All right. So, when I call up your names, you can just join me up here. All right. Emma Powell, Casey Addison. >> Yeah, come on up. Come on up. Gianna Dphano, Michaela Gould, Abby Julia, Julia Hunter, Nora McAdams, Kelsey Mohern, Alexis Nini, Johanna Pelus, Naomi Samuel, Emma Shooker, Emma Whmer, London Belrante, Rachel Bergen, Reagan Berni, Maggie Campbell, Bailey Curran, Payton DGEN, Kira Hart, Josie Hartman, Kaylee Dehoratius, Kennedy Thornton, and Laya Wilson. and our coaches Joanna Turner and Maria Saffron. Maria Saffron, also known as the NFHS PIAA 202425 coach of the year. We can give

014it up for coach. Do you want to take a picture? >> If you want to shift down will take a picture of him. >> There we go. They're already ready. They're good. Seriously charge. I love it. >> Seriously, they're like, "We're gonna help you out." >> Yeah. Thank you. Congratulations. Congratulations. >> Okay, one more time for Harford cheer, please. Yeah. >> Yeah. You got to get back to the game. It says it's halftime right now. We're losing by seven. Please. Cheers. >> Yes. Yeah. Yeah. >> Thank you. >> The girls cheers headed back to the boys basketball game to cheer them on for the second half. Um, tonight we're also here to celebrate our boy soccer program. Can we give it up please for boys soccer? So soccer is a proud tradition in our community

015and our 202526 boys soccer team proved that tradition is stronger than ever when they convinced 2,000 neighbors and community members to show up on Saturday, November 1st for the PIAAA District 1 Championship game at Harford High School's AG Corno Stadium. Yeah. out of class. For the record, and despite many rumors, we offered to schedule to host that game in August, not knowing our team would eventually play in it. Uh, and we will not apologize for the homefield advantage afforded by our 2,000 friends. Our boys soccer program honored their community with a historical season by going 193 and two, winning the PIAA District 1 Championship for the first time since 1972, and earning a bid in the PIAAA state playoffs for the first time since 1978. The roster hosted an all Delko player of the year

016in Cruz Corialis and multiple all central players, but it was truly a team effort with 21 different players scoring or assisting on at least one goal and two goalies combining for multiple team records. This season included records broken for most shutouts, most wins, and most goals. Tonight we are here to celebrate the 202526 PIAA District 1 champions and the team that defeated this year's state champions Abington not just once but twice making us depending on your interpretation the deacto state champions. This is also the group that wakes up the earliest to start their preseason practice at 6:00 a.m. and leaves the latest at night, ending their regular season practices at 8:00 p.m. They proudly serve their community and were recently spotted as recently as this weekend shoveling their neighbors driveways. So, you know, they will

017be busy all weekend. Congratulations to our 202526 PIAA District 1 Boy Soccer Championship team. Um, when I call your name, guys, we'll come up and we'll take a picture and then we'll give our certificates out in the hallway. All right. So, here to represent our state, our district championship team, sorry. Um, number one, Sean Grind, Cruz Corales, Patrick Flynn, Jack Flynn, Nathan Molharn, Gio, Dennis Soaloo, John Snubcowski, Aean Brennan, Liam Greenley, Cadence Stole, Kieran Heavener, and Everett Young. And our coaches Chris Gallagher, Dave Cassinelli, and head coach Mike Clemens. >> I know, right? I don't think they're into that. Congratulations. >> I'm going to bring it out. >> Thank you all again and go fors. Continuing with the uh superintendent report, I'd also just like to uh not only thank um not congratulate the uh

018chair team as well as the soccer team, but also thank um Mr. Dina, Mr. Donnagy, the entire administrative staff at the high school um for supporting uh both the athletic teams, all of our athletic teams, um and all of our students at the high school as well. So, congratulations to them. Um reiterating what our student representatives said, um Beatatric and Kora, uh I also want to uh just say a thank you to our schoolboard members. Um, as our school board representatives mentioned, January is uh school director recognition month. It's a time to honor and appreciate the invaluable contributions made by our dedicated school directors. Um, as elected officials in our community, our board members devote countless hours to fulfilling their responsibilities. Uh, and these are responsibilities in addition to their everyday um, regular responsibilities as

019well. Um, they serve as leons to county organizations. participate in committee meetings, attend various events, um and their unwavering commitment to the students academic success and well-being is truly commendable. Um the board members generously give their time, their talents to our community students and schools in our district. They strive to provide our children with the best educational opportunities possible. Uh and for that, um on behalf of myself and the entire district, uh we just want to say thank you very much for all the work you do. Couple other updates real quick. Um, at the last schoolboard meeting, we presented some updates on our strategic plan. So, I'm excited to be able to share a few uh highlight a few of these updates in action regarding community pride and engagement as well as our academic and

020athletic excellence. Um, we had MLK Day activities for day of service. Uh, this past Monday, our schools and communities across the district came together to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. uh through that day of service. Uh just a few of the many activities. Um we had sandwiches for St. John's Hospice, prepared prepackaged meals for families in need. Uh craft donations to Children's Hospital. We had canned and non-p perishable good items support the Ardmore food pantry. There were sock rolls for the giving tree and bracelets for sick patients through the confetti foundation. Um and the high school boys basketball team uh also held a hoops for heart clinic and a food drive. Um so our entire district was busy with uh day of service activities all day Monday. Uh and we couldn't be prouder of

021the work they do uh beyond just the uh academic and uh school day that that they have going on on a regular basis. Um we also had a very busy week with different events. Last night uh was the family fest at Lynwood. There were a number of teams recognized uh during senior nights. Uh and we also uh somebody had mentioned the unified botchi uh event which I was able to attend and was incredibly fun and we had a dominant win against Radner. So that was really enjoyable to see and they'll be hosting the Delo Championships on February 11th. Um we're also very proud that our elementary choirs have performed at each of these events. So really trying to merge the elementary and the secondary together um to bridge that. A fewformational reminders. Our elementary students

022will be taking their Ames Web and MAP benchmark assessments next week. High school students uh will have their English, biology, and algebra 1 benchmark assessments as well. Um I cannot promise snow days, but next week is predicted to bring weather. So, a message was sent to our community today to let them know we are closely monitoring the weather conditions. if the weather conditions would prevent schools from opening on Monday, January 26, that day would be designated as a traditional snow day. Um, and then additionally, when schools and district offices are closed due to inclement weather, all facilities are also closed for use. Um, we will continue to monitor, we will provide updates and frequent communication in order to keep the community aware uh of any impact that the weather would have on district operations for

023next week. And then lastly, just a couple dates for the calendar. Uh the next meet and greet um will be February 19th at the Kelly Music Center. Uh really gained some great insight and uh engaged with a number of community members. So those have been excellent and I look forward to continuing doing so. Uh and the class of 2026 graduation ceremony will be held at St. Joe's University on June 4th. Um so while June 4th is a way off, we know it will be here sooner than later. We are looking forward to a great upcoming second half for um our high school students and finishing out the second trimester um for our elementary students and uh hopefully everybody stays safe for the weekend. >> Thank you, Dr. Hayes. Next up, that takes us to section

024four of which is public comment. Members of the community are invited to speak during the public comment section listed on the agenda. Should a resident wish to speak during the public comment section on the agenda, they must must sign up by 3 p.m. on the date of the meeting. Specific signup details can be found on the district's website. Public comment occurs twice during the schoolboard meeting. The first opportunity for public comment is on the agenda. Um, you may make a comment about topics listed for a vote on the meeting agenda only. During the second public comment section on the agenda, you may make a comment about any school related topic. Per board policy, each speaker is only allowed three minutes for their remarks. A timer will be set at the start of your comment and

025an alarm will sound indicating that your allowed threeminut time has been completed. Please end your remarks when you hear the threeminute alarm sound. Should you have any materials for members of the board, please leave them at the end of the table with Mr. Tessa for later distribution to the board. Please note that if appropriate, a member of the administration may follow up with you at a later date. When your name is called, please go to the podium and state your name, confirm your residency, then the time will begin for your allotted threeminut remarks. We do not have anyone signed up for the first section of public comment for this evening. So, we're going to continue on to section five. Section five takes us to meeting minutes. Can I have a motion to approve the official

026minutes from the January 8th, 2026 board work session? >> Moved. >> Please second. >> Moved and second. Any discussion? All in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? The motion passes. Section six takes us to board reports. 6A is the Delaware County Community College. Um, Dr. McCay is absent this evening. So, her report will be provided next month for the DCIU. Miss Lee, no report for PSBA, Miss Weman. >> Uh, yes. Just two quick things. One again is a reminder that PSBA offers uh training that you um can sign up for if you are a new or newly elected schoolboard member to fulfill your requirement for training. and you can look at the PSBA website for inperson or online opportunities for that. Um the other is just a little um preview for the state budget proposal

027is expected to be made by Governor Shapiro on Tuesday, February 3rd. And then following that budget address, uh PSBA is going to have preliminary coverage and some first reactions with some key educational stakeholders. But then on Friday, February 6th at noon, they'll have a more indepth webinar hosted by PSBA's government affairs that will dive into details of the budget proposal and what it could mean for districts. So board members uh can sign up for that webinar to get some budget insights. >> Thank you, Mr. Next up for legislative council, Dr. Shoutton. >> Thank you, Dr. King. The Legislative Council met on January 14th. Uh, and this just a brief update. Um, Dr. Carrie Row was confirmed in December by the Pennsylvania Senate as Pennsylvania Secretary of Education. In terms of legislation, 10 new bills were

028introduced and seven bills advanced in the legislative process since the last report. Among among advancing legislation that has or is likely to cross to the other chamber of the assembly is Senate Bill 1014, which requires entities to adopt a bell-to-bell phone free policy by the 27 to 28 school year. That's under consideration in the Senate and there there may be some changes to the language but something keep an eye on in the second in the first part of this year. Um another bill, House Bill 1768, passed the House and has crossed over the Senate. establishes a statewide initiative to increase the amount of Pennsylvania grown and minimally processed foods served in school meals. Finally, on December 25th, Governor Shapiro signed the Crown Act or House Bill 439, which protects Pennsylvania against racial hair discrimination based

029on hair type, hair texture, or protective hairstyles like braids, twists, knots, and locks. Public school students are specifically protected by this law. Couple of upcoming dates. Uh May 4th will be advocacy day in Harrisburg and PSBA is organizing some events. Uh and so board members can register on the PSBA portal. And finally, the legislative breakfast will be held at the DCIU Morton campus on Friday, May 15th at 7:30 a.m. Um, the tenative talk topic for the breakfast is unfunded state mandates and I believe the May 4th advocacy day is also going to be focused that on that in Harrisburg as well as making sure that the the budget comes in on time for, you know, school districts. Um, next meeting of the council is February 11th. And if there's no questions, I'll turn back. >>

030Thank you, Dr. Shton. Um, are there any board members that attended a district event they would like to share? >> I Yeah, it was already mentioned, but unifi botchi senior night was yesterday, and I learned a lot about Boti. It was exciting to watch. There's a lot of great action >> and a couple of PTO meetings. past couple of weeks on the 7th of Chestnut W and on the 14th I was with Miss Snder at Coopertown some of the topics that were brought up at uh Chestnut Wald was was uh leveling or or unleveling of uh certain uh subjects which I think is great. We're we're behind our um some of our peer schools in unleveling but we're we're getting there and teachers seem to so far seem to be going fairly smoothly in Coopertown.

031One of the things that was raised and they raised a slot actually the backpacking issue which Dr. Hayes I'm sure you're aware of. It's just the uh PTO's because they are not because of of of the legal ease I guess they are not part of the school district they have to act separately from school district and they they wanted to try to find ways to get more kind of inshed with like you know publishing things in school uh newsletters and that kind of thing. It's tricky. I know that's being worked on though. So they were happy to hear that and they also everybody was very happy to hear that he is now in top four percentage for every testing for every single category. I can't say that enough. So that was all that was all

032to hear. >> Mr. Flagger and I last night were at the Lynwood event that Dr. Hayes mentioned. um a cultural celebration. Families came and shared uh some aspects of their family's cultural background. So there were food and games and posters of information uh celebrating different languages, dress um and lots of good tasty things to eat that were very popular. Um I was able to talk to the principal, Dr. McGilly and uh she just raved about like the very um giving school community that enjoys this opportunity to share and celebrate each other and learn something new and have a night together. And I was also introduced to their school president from their student government and we'll look forward to seeing her continue to develop her leadership skills and and maybe be a board representative one day.

033>> You and I was at uh was at that same thing last night and it was it was wonderful. Uh last Wednesday I was at the Manoa PTO and uh that was a really great experience and uh there was a number of conversations I got into with different people but I think one of the main things uh I walked away with was the mentoring um program that Dr. Ed Lizzy is kind of putting together with uh some of the older students in there and some of the younger students. So, I was really impressed with uh with that and I had a good conversation with her as well about um the short-term and long-term plans. So, everything looks great at Manila. >> And just following up um on Mr. Schwarz, um I did join him at

034the PTO meeting at Coopertown. Um I also attended the Lynwood PTO meeting on the 6th. Um over at Lynwood they the PTO is uh they just actually approved um a $21,000 estimate to put in playground shade for their their newly um built playground after the construction. So they're very excited about that. Um they're going to be putting in two shades hopefully over spring break and they are preparing for the retirement of longtime district employee Sue Fairman. Um, so they've got fun activities prepared for her as uh her tenure here at the district ends. Um, and I was very impressed uh with their PTO overall. They are doing great with their budgeting. Um, they they have uh a lot of money in the bank and reserves planned for the end of the year. Um, they are

035overseeing 10 clubs uh this session after school programming with 144 kids enrolled currently. To follow up on uh what Dave was mentioning with the Coopertown PTO, they also had detective uh David Vernacio come and do a presentation on youth tech safety um social media and internet use. It was incredibly informative. Um he is willing to go out to any of the other PTOs. He also has a presentation that he can present at our elementary and middle and high schools um that are student specific. So um I encourage uh other PTO to take advantage of that and our principal seeking out his expertise as well. All right, thank you everyone. It sounds like there was an opportunity to attend lots of great events um for our district in these past few weeks. We're going to continue

036on to section seven, which takes us to finance and facilities. And I have a motion to approve items 7B through 7D as presented on the agenda. >> Second. >> Moved and second. Any discussion? >> Dr. King, may I be recognized? >> Yes. >> Um, I'm going to abstain from uh the vote on item 7B. Um, it includes a contract with Pico Gas Services. Um, as I explained at the last meeting, I'm employed by Exxelon, which is a company affiliated with Pico. So I feel it's best that I abstain from this vote to avoid any appearance of conflict of interest. I have submitted the abstension memo to Mr. Ta and that will be included in the minutes. My vote for items 7C and 7D may be recorded. Thank you. >> Thank you, Miss Nagrass. So we

037will proceed to vote to include all members except for Miss Nagrass on item 7B. All in favor? >> Any oppose? The motion passes. We'll continue on to item 7E. And I have a motion to approve dispersements for payment totaling 3,288,566.74. a second. Moved and seconded. Any discussion? >> All in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? The motion passes. We'll continue on to item 7F, change orders. Can I have a motion to accept the recommendation of owners representative CB Development Services Incorporated and authorize the change orders totaling a rebate of $28,49 as listed? >> Moved and second. >> Moved and seconded. Any discussion? >> I have a question for um this project for which we are um applying or going to be using grant funds that we Um, does this change in the budget in any

038way affects >> but in other discussion? All in favor? >> I. >> Any oppose? The motion passes. >> Item 7G, Co-Star's wood flooring recommendation. Have a motion to accept the recommendation of owners representative CB Development Services Incorporated and approve the proposal by Miller Flooring Company for the Coopertown Elementary project at a total cost of $38,200. We have been moved. >> Second. >> Moved and seconded. Any discussion? >> I I just had a question about this. Was this part this flooring for the for the gym? Was was that part of the original budget for the um for for the school or that change order? I mean, I'm confused why that was broken out. >> Okay. So, But but it falls within the >> that's not an addition to the project in any way. Um and um

039yes this is going through co-stars so it's that like statewide budgeting or pricing system that we can take advantage of. Yep. And Miller Flooring has done multiple projects around our district that seem to be the go-to for this kind of work. Any other discussion? All in favor? >> Any oppose? The motion passes. Section 8 takes us to human resources. I have a motion to approve items 8B through 8D as presented on the agenda. >> Second. >> Move and seconded. Any discussion? >> I'm just going to um give a shout out for retirement. I see James Oul, a bus driver for over 26 years, and I know he's been recognized for uh his exemplary safety record in driving and the representing the district at the bus rodeo. So, um just nice to to see he's looking

040forward to retirement after many years of service to the district. >> All in favor? I. >> Any oppose? The motion passes. Section nine takes us to pupil services. I have a motion to approve items 9B through 9 C as listed on the agenda. >> Second. >> Moved and seconded. Any discussion? All in favor? >> I. >> Any oppose? Motion passes. 9D. Educational service agreement. Have a motion to approve the following educational service agreement for a district student. This agreement covers reimbursement for privately obtained legitimate educational services as incurred by the family for the benefit of the student. >> Second. >> Moved and seconded. Any discussion? >> All in favor? I. >> Any opposed? The motion passes. 9E. Can I have a motion to ratify the agreement modification with Melmark Incorporated to provide additional intensive services

041to student number not to exceed $23,544 second? >> Moved and seconded. Any discussion? All in favor? >> I. >> Any oppose? The motion passes. Section 10 takes us to academics and instruction. Can I have a motion to approve student educational excursion as listed below? >> Moved or second? >> Moved and seconded. Any discussion? >> Class of 2032 just threw me there. I don't even have a sixth grader and that hurts for some reason. So, >> it's great to see the Camp Kennedys tradition continuing for our middle school students. >> It lives on. >> I have memories. Yeah. Yeah. A good time. So, all in favor? >> I. >> Any oppose? The motion passes. Section 11 takes us to policy. And I have a motion to approve items 9B and 9 C for first reading as

042presented on the agenda and discussed at the January 8th, 2026 work session. >> Moved. moved and seconded. Any discussion? >> Um just really briefly, you can see the uh changes that were made. I there was a good discussion on both of these policies at the work session and so you can see the the changes that were made to these um highlighted in green or uh stricken in red. So it looks like all of our changes that we had suggested are being made here. But certainly if anyone has revisions to the changes that have already been made or uh revisions that we haven't talked about yet, uh we can certainly talk about that tonight as well. And then there will be a second reading at the next meeting for adoption. Thank you. >> Just uh to

043correct the recommended action was to approve items 9B and 9 C but it is um items 11B and 11 C. So that correction will be made on the agenda. >> It's just a typo. >> Yeah. Okay. Got it. I was like, I really thought I was on the right section here. >> We'll correct the typo to be reflected in the minutes. Okay. >> Thank you. >> Thanks. >> If there's pol policy discussion, we can have that too. >> All in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? The motion passes. We have nothing listed for section 12. Other items for section 13. That takes us to the second opportunity on the agenda for public comments. I have four people that is listed on the agenda for this section of public comments to speak. Just as a reminder,

044when your name is called, please go to the podium and state your name. Confirm your residency and then the time will begin for your allotted three minute remarks. The first person that I have signed up is Kathy Neely. Good evening. Kathy Little. I reside at 3244 Derby Road in Habford and I'm a resident of the district. I'm here this evening because on January 10th I sent an email to the district requesting to speak at this meeting. The topic that I sent was discrimination, harassment, and bullying in Hford Township public schools, dispelling lies, rumors, gossip, and myths part one. Yesterday I received a letter from Mr. Joseph McConey and Dr. Matthew Hayes indicating that I made death threats at the last board meeting. I want to be very clear that I made no death threats to

045anyone. I never have and I never would. Mr. Hayes said that he would be contacting the police, that the letter was sent to the police department. I encouraged Mr. pays to do that because I encourage the police to come and speak with me and conduct an investigation that they refused to conduct five and a half years ago when I went with my complaint. I feel that it the timing of this is very interesting. 13 days went by since the claim of death threats. 13 days went by before this letter came. The police did not come yesterday and they did not come today. This was sent one day before my comments were to be made today. My belief is that the reason for this the timing is very interesting. My both of my sons attended Havford

046High School. My oldest son graduated in 2020 and graduated from Penn State University. My youngest son never graduated from the high school. He never did due to the topic that I was going to address this evening. And this is a travesty. And if it should happen to anyone else in this school district, I I I cannot fathom what my son went through in his attempt to graduate from this high school. Anyway, getting back to this, the timing of this, I think, is very interesting because I believe that no one wants me to talk about this. No one wants me to say what happened to my son. But I'm going to I'm not going to this evening because I was preempted with this letter and I want the public and everyone else to know that it's

047very concerning when these things are being said about a resident that I made death threats and that that the matter is going to be turned over to the police and nothing came from that. I think the public should be very concerned about that and I think there's a reason why nobody wants me to talk about this. Thank you. The next person I have signed up for public comment is Peter Oroki. Okay. The next person I have is Jim Thompson. The last person I have is Judy Gallagher Mouland. Okay. Those were the four names that I had signed up for this evening for public comment. Next up for the report on executive session. The board met before tonight's meeting to review agency business with council that if discussed in public would violate a lawful privilege. Section

04815 takes us to adjournment. The next regular public board meeting is a work session scheduled to be held on February 5th, 2026 at 7 p.m. in the boardroom of the Oakmont Administration building. I have a motion to adjourn the meeting. >> Sigress moved. >> Moved and seconded. The meeting is adjourned.
