001who's taking over the job surge. Like it's been vacant since fall and progressing. We've missed all of open gyms, all of winter conditioning. Summer league is coming with no gym time for the girls. Um just kind of curious to where we're at in the process if that's able to be shared. >> Yeah, I can help you. Um so the high school principal um and assistant principal are actually responsible for the hiring. Um they do it in collaboration with the athletic director. Um with him out um it will still go on them. I know that job is still posted out there but still actively looking for individuals for that. Um we had thought we had someone that was going to help draw us here. Unfortunately that fell through um but it's still out there. So um
002you know we'll get that out to the public again um through our you know parent square things like that. But it's there. But all the hiring is done by the high school principal and person there. I will help out when needed as well. But it's really okay. Um so and I appreciate that. That's kind of so we like how how do we take this gap, right? Like this is rapidly approaching, right? How do we get the girls into the gym for open gyms or practices? Like so again uh you know reach out to me. Um I'll give you my email address.org. Um you know we'll help you know it's thought we had to volunteer. Um but you know if you know of individuals or you have some ideas um you know more than happy to
003hear them see something as a booster group. We've pushed it to every club volleyball team like every and apparently there are other schools that are also looking for ads and volleyball coach. Yeah. Um even if we had and there there's some you know options we can do um as far as volunteers people there you know there's some uh procedures we have also there may be something that that you know that we can work together yeah we can talk about >> yeah if that's the case because I do think there there are ways to parent or group to get clearances and check all the boxes from a liability standpoint. >> Yeah. Yeah. send me an email and we give you a special time to talk and you guys come in and you can sit down. Sure.
004>> Okay. Um >> Joe, I'm out of it. >> Um Okay, that's good. So really the high school principal is more responsible. Yeah, they always do it in collaboration with the athletic there, but yeah, they're really ultimately overseated. Thanks for letting me go first. >> We didn't want to make you sit here by presentation. You're >> welcome to week at work. I'm good. >> Yeah. I hope it goes well. >> Thank you for coming. >> Thanks. >> All right, I'm going to sit here this year. Usually I stand up because I have a plug in over there. I don't have to. So, uh, it's better for everyone. Um, thanks for, you know, listening tonight. I'm going to go over just the proposed final general fund budget. Um, again, I'm going to precurs this with, um,
005these numbers will change. Um, you know, I will continue to work on this before it is voted on in June. Um, but I think this gives a, you know, picture of what we're facing right now. Um, you know, and what we have to work on in that time. So, um, I think everyone has been here through this budget process of what we do. um throughout the years um again um we just you know continuously look at things and you know work on the budget process. This year was a little more difficult because we did have some new um administrators come on board so I've worked with them um you know on our budget process things like that um to get them up to speed but um you know all in all things have worked out.
006So um on page three you guys will see our perspective. Um really nothing has changed um you know over all the um I did have here you know one of the main items and questions in this budget is that we are currently in negotiations with our teacher union. Um so those numbers are currently unknown and just have to be um you know projected or you know get um just in placement until we can you know get contracted. So um that is there as well as you know the health insurance increase for this year upcoming year is 8.3%. Um you know we've had high I don't want to say high because someone in this room gets upset uh but we've had increases around here and you know expect anywhere from 8 to 10% increases in the
007year just because of trends. So um that's what the health insurance increase is there. Cyber charter schools and cyber schools um are going to stay status quo right now. Um I I'll talk a little bit about later, but there really is no changes up or down on that for next year. Um which you know isn't a necessarily bad thing. Um that you know it's not going down, but it's not going up. Um the other big item in here you will uh go over is that we are certainly in our elementary school remodeling project. Um we did get the bond. Um you will see that additional money in here for bond payment when we go. >> So Joe, just one thing just to step back for the cyber and cyber charter. Um just looking at student
008enrollment if there's that's the only >> yeah and I will >> going to change >> they were updating um our pens was updating everything so at the May meeting I'll go into more detail on um cyber enrollment um what we're looking for in the future as well as out of district placements um in there for that but I can't say um enrollment is staying status quo basically so we do have some individuals um will probably go down in enrollment by a few, but with projected increases in cost based on the AFR, it sort of offsets that. So, right now um you know, we're trying to get a hold of um some documents to see um because of the new laws if people are truly um part of our district if they're still going to be
009enrolled next year. So, there could be a potential of um more of a decrease. We don't think it's going to increase if we have all those but with the number decreasing and then the typical um amount of increases in what we have to pay for those um individuals it's going to basically offset which is why it's static. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> So as we know the one index was set at 3.5% for next school year. Um this current proposed final budget is showing um a tax increase up to that index which would bring us to 22.7122 mills um for next year. So um with that being said um you know our projected revenues are around $50.74 million while the projected expenditures are around 55.2 million going to result in a deficit of about
010$4.45 million next year. um revenues increased by almost a million dollars from last year's general fund budget that was presented and the expenditures increased by about 3.6 million um compared to last year's budget. So again, we'll continue to work on this. There's a lot for us to go through and try to cut down on those costs. Um but as of right now, that's where we stand. com comparing those two I'm sorry comparing this to like the revenue increased by that much the expenditures was that a normal like division between the two if there was a specific percentage in the revenues >> um typically with >> um well so the expenditures did increase more than usual because we do have a bond payment um which is shown in here which is about uh two mill it's
011a little over $2 million so that's not typical in past budgets we've been debtree so um if we take that debt out um you know we're sort of normal um with where we're looking at um and what we projected because of you know uh salary increases uh you know contract negotiations things like that. So, um really that bond payment is what uh put that up so much right now of the 2 million. But, um the revenues increase um typically if we would go to the index, we do get a little bit more revenue from that, but because the assessed value um did go down about $13 million from last year's start, um we lost about $300,000 off of that um just because of the decrease in assessed value. So, that number is a little low
012with that tax. >> Okay. I just if there's anybody listening, I don't know if there is, but it's just and in the minutes it's important to note that for anybody looking at that, they might say, "Well, why did it increase so much?" And you just stated why the revenue is a little bit lower and the expenditures are higher. So, thank you. Okay. >> I I guess my questionify statement. So is that over what was ex So like the revenues increased 977,000 over what we expected. >> No, what we budgeted for last year. So what we >> So what we budgeted So the final budget we passed, >> right, was about 900, >> but then we were overbudget in expenditures by three and a half million. We had two million of that >> is for the
013bonding. Okay. Sorry. I just want to make sure I understand to clarify it. >> So, um, as you see, most of our revenue, um, does come locally. About 70% of that, um, is local, 69.27%. Um, as far as the state in this budget, um, we do just flatline, um, the amount of what we receive this year for next year, unless we hear otherwise, and the state pass the budget. um looking at the projection um of what they project us to get, it's only about an $80,000 difference. So, we're just going to keep um status quo of what we've got this year. So, that equates for almost um 30% of our revenue. And then our federal revenue is only $421,000 and just equates to, you know, a little under 1% of what our total revenues are.
014>> And that's typically what we get because I can't remember what the federal >> Yeah, that that's typical. Well, um the federal has gone down in the last couple years just because the ESRE funds have gone away. Um again, there was talk in the past about, you know, things being cut on title of that, but um right now we have not heard anything with that. So that's typical of our title. This is just a chart that'll show you, you know, sort of what that looks like on a piraphph. Next, you will see the revenue trend as I talked about earlier. Um this these last two columns are comparing what this current proposed budget is compared to um the final uh tax budget um for 2526 school year. So as you see um the current real
015estate taxes um did go up about $741,000 raising it to the index. Um I did increase EIT um about $47,000. Um and then you know everything else sort of stayed status quo. um we haven't really seen a huge increase um in other things. I have been budgeting um more closely in the past couple years to make sure we're pretty on spot with things. So again, I'll keep an eye on um a lot of the revenues coming in, EIT, things of that nature as we get closer to June. That way there's a better idea um if I think we can up those numbers based on where we come from this year. If you go to the delinquent taxes, you will see that our actual amount in 2425 was about $1.42 million. Um the reason for that
016was because um the tax collectors did submit their um final delinquent list over late. Um it did happen again this year. So um I will keep an eye on what MBM collects over the next month or two to see um how much I think we'll get. that number that I have currently may need to be raised because some of those um taxes that should have been collected this year will now have to be collected next year. So, um I will keep an eye on that. We did just turn those lists over last month. So, we have to wait um for this month to see, you know, sort of where we're at on that. But, um that would just be something to keep an eye on. Um, with that being said, if we do raise it
017for next year, that most likely means that our projection for this year is going to come in lower because of that late um, you know, turnover from the tax. Other than that, you will see um, everything else sort of have just stayed status quo um, and you know, uh, adjusted for, you know, um, this is just another graph that sort of shows um, you know, in a bar graph form the changes from last year's budget. um you know where the amounts are and then where um you know percentage wise that is. So you'll see overall it's almost at $1 million that I talked about earlier. So next we'll get into real estate values. Um so I like to go over this, you know, every year. So again, raising the real estate taxes to the index
018of 3.5% um will generate approximately $741,438. um assuming a 94.5 uh collection rate. Um in the past we've used 96% um going over the last four years. Um after CO to see where we're at, our historical collection rate is now about 94.5%. So that's what I budgeted for. Um that's where that amount is in there. One uh percent in mill rate um equates to about $283 um,000 in revenue. So um again that's what each one is. So below that you will see um just a value of what uh taxpayers could expect based on a set of values um you know in their from their houses um for the year um with that 3.5% increase. On the next page I did add this. I know it's a reflection. Um I went back over the last 10
019years um just to put in historical amounts of what um each assessed value house um had seen based on our millage increases over those 10 years. So um on this slide you will see um each year what that amount would have been based on the increase in millage rate and then at the bottom is the total over 10 years um of the additional tax that they paid. On the next slide what I did was I compounded that. So if you go through each year um it's just a running total um up through this current year of what really that value was from back in um the VM 2017 2018. So that'll show that compounded amount um any year to show um what you know the district has raised um that so people can see that.
020>> Thank you Joe. That's important. >> The next slide just shows our history. Um again um this is just proposed the final millage board 2627 school year is not finalized. Um we do just show that so that we are able to go up to the index um once we pass in June. Um I did add um just what the millage mile increase was and then the percentages over there um just for you know history on that. The next slide I did add just sort of just to show where um Keith Oaks was as far as school districts around the Alageney County. Um so you will see um we're actually the 10th lowest in millillage um rate. I highlighted it um out of 42 um districts around us, you know, we're 33rd in the highest amount
021of millage. Um, you will see through this, um, based on what they raised last year, um, I'm hoping for the May finance meeting, um, I will be able to talk to the AIU and get an idea about, um, where we think other districts may raise their taxes for next year. But, um, this just shows what, um, they raised the millillage from 2425 to 2526, what that value of 1 mil is, and what the increase was prior year. So, um, I sorted it by millage rate in 2526, which is the current school year we're in. Um, and you know, just to show where Kito really did, um, on that, uh, rating of where we, uh, lie or how high. So, you'll see we are that 33rd. Any questions on revenue before I get to the >>
022No, but it's crazy to see the difference between Pittsburgh being 10 and Brentwood at 39. Like you know the span even Montour 17 to 39. the span of the districts and how much the mill is >> well but you look at Dukane area the value of one mill is only $1300 >> the value of one mill shows more of a true picture of how much they generate you know levels like that so that's why I included that on there to sort of give a good idea of >> because it can be deceiving very deceiving when you look at the differences of what yeah what one mill So, now we'll get into the tough part and everyone's favorite part, um, expenditures. Um, this shows an overview of what we're looking at. Um, as I said earlier,
023it's about $55.2 million totaled. Um, 44% of that is salaries. Um, 29% is benefits. Again, the majority of this, um, almost, you know, threequarters of the budget is tied into salaries and benefits. Um, the rest of the items sort of state status quo. Um I'll go through in more detail in the next couple slides um where those differences are what we're going to see you know what we're really looking at why um again this is just a you know pie chart to show sort of an overview to look at you know a picture of where those values are going. This next slide does show the trends by object. So, um, again, you will see, um, you know, salaries actually only increased about $101,000, um, from our budget last year. We weren't sure of, um, earlier
024time setups, things like that, which played effect. We had contract negotiations um, just areas that we weren't sure. So, overall, with all those changes, you know, we are looking at only about $101,000 salaries. With that um being said, however, the benefits do go up about 830,000. Um the majority of that is due to the increase in healthcare. Um we are currently in open enrollment. So by the time we vote in June, I will have a you know good picture of um where everyone the district stands on health care um for sure on individuals. So we'll have a more accurate number at that time. um our 300 for purchase professional and technical service. Um the majority of that increase um actually 200,000 of that increase um which it only shows about 175,000 was due to an
025increase in um special ed services districtwide. Um again I will break that down um you know more in detail at the finance committee. Um but a lot of that is for the nursing that's needed um for us that we have to outsource um for some out of district placements. So that is the reason for that increase next year. Um on that in the 400s that is where all of our um you know services are as far as electricity, water, natural gas um things like that. Um so you will see an increase. Um what had happened this past year and we just got told this recently. Um our projection for um this current budget 2526 was based on our utility or electricity bill um from the past year, things like that. Um we had a meeting
026with the electric electricity company um earlier and you know they told us that they had made an error um they actually miscalculated the bills um for the last uh two or three years um on that. So um they did we do go through the AIU for a consortium it was there but the total amount they miss build us was about $225,000 for the those prior years. Um we worked AIU they did a great job. we do not have to pay any of that back. That was on them. But they did adjust that um going back from the start of this year and going forward. So that uh the electricity increase for next year's budget did go up about $225,000 because um again we just went off what would be filled things like that because of
027that mispayment. Um that is a significant portion of that. Um in addition um natural gas prices have increased, water has increased. Um so you know the remaining of that is basically due to just uh utilities increasing overall but the majority like I said due to that air for electricity um you know going forward. So in the 500 that is where all of our transportation is. Um, again, we are projecting about uh $350,000 increase in transportation um due to the contract um obligations, what we uh spent for um out of district placements, things like that. As we get closer to June, I'll have a better idea on a lot of those items to see if we can bring that down. Um but right now $350,000 increase in transportation is driving that difference. It may be minimal,
028but we did get notice from from court the other day that if you're being charged a storm water fee, >> we are Yeah, we get that then that will be removed. It is considered and rolled as a tax and therefore you are exempt as a public entity. You will no longer be um charged these storm. >> That'll help us here >> recoup any charges. >> You'll be getting an update from us that just came down. >> Perfect. That'll help. Is that retroactive to any any >> No, I don't think so. I think they just said going forward. >> They're not making the burrows made up for the water authority. >> I don't believe so. I'll check on that. It'll be in the update, but I know moving forward you're not going to have to it
029was declared a tax by the court and therefore you don't pay taxes. So, you don't have to pay. >> I have a question and you might have said this already, but why is 23 24 and 2425 the same? I'll double check on that. It may just been a transition error on there. Doesn't look like I I'll fix that. Um just back. I'm not sure. I think that's just a budget. >> Which line item is talking about? >> Prior. >> Yeah, the whole >> Oh, I see at the bottom of >> Yeah. I don't know why I didn't update. I'll double check that. I'll send it to you guys with the updated numbers. >> Oh, yeah. It is. >> So, uh the next item, the 600 supplies, um about $81,000 of that increase is due to
030textbooks. Um instructional software is about 30,000 and then the remaining is just due to um an increase in prices, supplies across the district. Again, that's one of the areas Doc Shake and I will work on the decrease and that price may come down. Um but that's just the overall cost of that. Um with that being said, we did decrease our property um by about $22,000. So again, um a lot of that bigger equipment was bought last year that isn't this year. So that's um the 800 is just the interest payment on uh the bonds. Um so again, that's why that increase is so high um and why it's set at $1.3 million. Um and then the 900 is the principal um on our bond payment. So again um the interest and principal for next year
031will be about two two million um $10,000 um in there. So that's why that >> what category does um food service is under? >> They're under a separate uh budget. We don't budget for them. They have their own um budget to the state. So it's not in this. >> Okay. in in in Pennsylvania that they're considered what they call 50 categories of food services. It's done enterprise. It's enterprise. It's its own entity. It has nothing to do with your general fund. I'm sure that's pretty expensive. >> Right. >> It is. But >> just to clarify, when you say we don't budget for them, you mean the board doesn't pass a budget, >> correct? Yes. You don't pass. You don't pass a general. You don't pass a budget. >> Okay. >> In Pennsylvania, you don't. That
032Annie's correct. Don't pack your pass general. >> So Joe, just with Tammy's astute observation on those two columns. Um, is that going to change the final number or was the final number done and then stuff was just somehow transposed incorrectly in? >> So those final numbers are just based on the last two columns 25, 26, and 26, 27. um these 24 25 23 those are just additional numbers. So nothing will change as far as the data um what we're looking at for increases um comparison. >> So again the next uh page and slide is just another way to look at the increases and decreases in expenditures overall. The next slide shows um the fund balance as of June 30th, 2025. Um we did end up um making uh a little bit of money about $350,000.
033Um so this is just a fund balance as of June 30, 2025. Um which would have been the starting fund balance for the start of the school year. So um again, the committed funds are for OP liability um on the statement of net position. Um and then assigned funds I do for compensated absences um as per the audit report in that um I did put about $3 million for capital project. Um those funds can be you know unassigned move for other items but that's what makes up the next slide. Um I did add um typically I just show up to what uh was audited but I did want to put in there um what we have budgeted for the last two years um just to show what will happen with that um fund balance. So
034again we ended 2025 about 11.9 million. Um with what was budgeted this current school year we're going to have a deficit up um that would be about $1.8 million. Bring it down to about $10.1 million at the end of this school year. and then what is budgeted for next school year currently in this proposed final budget um with that $4.4 million um deficit um would then lower the fund balance down to about $5.6 million um at the end of next year. So um again there's some notes about what has happened in the past um we'll continue to work on that um but that is you know what the outlook looks as of right now um before this you know budget next year. Are there any other questions? uh regarding the budget. So, I will update
035these um I will share them, you know, up to the board um with everything. And again, I'm going to go in more detail um on a lot of the higher items at the next finance and ground meeting um to give a better on some of the high ticket items in there. If there's something that the board would like to see at that finance committee meeting other than what we've talked about, please email, email me. um I'll be sure to include it and we can go into more detail about that budget. But um I'll have a better idea at that time and you know a better picture and more information on what I'm expecting the final budget to be based on. Um a lot of our revenues come in in May um towards now for EIT
036and things and we'll have a better idea of what we're you know projecting for the end of this year and next year. I mean, it's it's important that the slide that I think personally is the most important is the one that just shows the trend of how much people cumulatively have paid over the last 10 years because we're representing all of our constituents out there and that's real money to everybody. Um, so it's just important for us to keep in mind that's that's who we're representing here. So, Thank you. >> So, we're going to move into report. So, for next week, we're going to have um four minutes to approve. Um there's also going to be a motion for a settlement and agreement. >> We are going to be um nominating treasurer and then um
037information only uh parkway >> until next week. >> Uh Shazel, >> I have currently no report. Uh, unless Dr. Struct knows something, I No, but I'm uh nothing I just tie. >> Okay. Um, PSBA. >> Um, I guess one of the bills that's headed to the governor's desk, and I think we're already covered for it requiring AEDs at alla events. All of our facilities already have them, so that shouldn't affect us. However, they have put out um schemes of helping schools pay for them, but I think we had gifts and grants. We to get our Okay, good. Good. And there's a few others that are coming through um out of chamber for um studying the ACT and SAT possibly to take uh be used in place of Keystones. um seizure training for staff who comes
038in contact with students um recognizing biiteracy on diplomas if um students have proficiency which I don't think is a big deal for anybody there's no cost to that um but it's nice to have students recognized for it and um there's talk about requirements to display the preamble to the constitution and the Yet another thing that would be a mandate with no funding. Um >> that's going through like >> it's it's not through yet. It's not going to the governor yet. It's just out of um out of chamber. Got >> at this point. So it's just one to watch. I'll just keep my eyes open for it. Um and then I would just like to put the put out to those who attended the advocacy day if there are any highlights that you might want to
039share. Um, first of all, I want to wish everybody hope they had a nice Mother's Day. Uh, I attended advocacy day on May 4th. Um, I went to the Harrisburg and, um, when I got there, I had two meetings. One with Dwayne Fontana and Nick Fiskanado. Um, fortunately, they weren't there and I was, um, guided by their tip staff. I asked them questions, but they didn't really answer to my satisfaction. I asked one question about transportation and one on child care services credits and all I got was lip service and it was bogged down in committee and I wasn't too satisfied. I just felt that a waste of my time but I didn't make it a total loss. I got to uh you know uh go through the capital which is uh uh very you
040know if you never did it it's very cool. Uh a lot of moving parts especially the first u week in May. uh a lot of things going on. I got to uh I was I was a guest in the gallery. Uh a good friend of mine uh Jay Costa. I had a a tuna melt with him for lunch and he set me up uh in the gallery and I got to see how that works and it was pretty interesting. Some of the local schools that were there, Franklin Regional men's wrestling team, they were honored. Got to see them. Um Ringold High School hockey team were uh there. Um, I was really impressed with the South Fet High School girls basketball team. They won the States. Uh, wonderful. Uh, they they have a wonderful program and
041they were all honored and uh made me envy and wish that some of our our team would be there someday and I and I honed with a few other politicians and stuff, but at the end of the day, I know it's okay. you know, got the autograph and you know, it's uh if you ever get a chance to go to Harrisburg and see the capital, it's pretty cool. You know, good day for a field trip. Will I go next year? I don't know. All I got was this poster here for my service. It says uh PA needs teachers. I think that's a no-brainer, right? >> Yeah. >> And this educate the Keystone State and uh Um, and I did get a $30 parking ticket, but uh I'm going to see if Jay can get me
042off the hook. With that said, it was it was very interesting and educational. Um, but I did get to see Juan Wayne Fontana, which I wasn't surprised being that his, you know, his uh way he goes about this business. But I did ask some nice questions. you know, we you know, we talk about child welfare, you know, for uh parents, you know, it's uh expensive, but I didn't get I didn't get any results. Just a bunch of lip service. So, that's all I have for my day at Harrisburg. >> Thank you for attending and trying, Sunny. >> I did not end up attending. I did get the report from Sunny. I decided that I had a feeling that was going to be my experience. So, I did reach out to set up meetings with um
043with several of our elected officials and I'm going to email out those dates in case anybody else wants to come with me just say hello. >> Um in Harrisburg though, right? >> Not in I do have a meeting with Wayne Fontana so allegedly. So, I'll send that Dave out. >> Maybe we could bring the doctor. >> Allegedly. >> Maybe. Yeah. Oh, he'll let you know, too. >> Yes. >> Um, so yes, >> I just read he did something wonderful for us. >> I swear there was an email that he did something with local districts, >> right? Did something for the draft. >> What was it? >> Okay. Um, but yeah, I'm going to I emailed all of them to let them know that I wasn't attending, but I would like to meet with them just
044to introduce myself. And so I'll email out those dates in case anybody else wants to come with me. >> Um, >> thanks honey. >> Thank you. >> I'm glad you're I'm glad you did, too. But >> um, any news from the burrow? >> I'd like to mention that um, Green Tree Library will be closed May 13th or 14th to the 23rd. Um, they're getting new carpeting installed. And castle sh I just noticed that they were putting signs up for our annual community day. I believe Annie I think it's the 30th. >> Yeah. >> Fireworks. I don't know. >> No show. >> The ropes are in the tour pool. >> No water. >> I'll plug the um prom fundraiser again if anyone is interested in going to prom 2.0 you know on um that's also on
045May 30th you can go to community day and then you can go to prom. So >> and what is that benefit >> and that's for the for coffee oak foundation for educational >> is it like real prom dresses? >> Yes. Uh my husband's running a tuck and you can get an add-on corineir from Dormmont if you purchase a ticket. So, >> there's gonna be a DJ. Be fun. Okay. Um, superintendent. Any other news from the >> Yes. Um, we did meet for executive session to talk about personnel issues. Um, now into the superintendent. >> Thank you, Mrs. Snider. Um, before I I dive into the superintendent report, just real quick, um, you heard Mrs. slide and talk about a lot of those bills. This is not an unusual time to have those bills flying because
046those will play into the state budget. >> This is where they end up becoming the ominous bills and stuff with the budget. So, they're used as bargaining chips back and forth on both sides. So, there's a ton of them. You know, the uh this the cell phone usage, whether or not there's going to be a total ban in schools is one of them that is flying around up there pretty heavy. And it's uh from my understanding the legislator's pretty split on that one. >> I think it should be at the district level. >> Yeah. >> For which one? >> Yeah. Like what is this? >> I'm sure it's going to be used as a bargain to get a budget. That's what happens this time. So it's not unusual. It's not to have them offline. >>
047So anyhow to my reports, I'm just going to go real fast what you'll be voting on next week. Uh our first school district sent their agreement in for project succeed for next year. We have the park. >> Um, >> just one thing. >> Well, they just went out. Yeah, they just went out. >> Well, two, seven months. >> Yeah. >> Uh, the summer food service program will continue as usual. That will start. So, I want to make sure everybody has that there. Um, the codes of conduct you do every year. I gave them to you in cap. So, if you have any questions, fire. Okay. I did. you didn't send my or call me on the phone or email me and then I could just Yeah. >> Um and then the other was just some
048some professional developments that are listed there and the explanations. Um two of our AP teachers um one of our teachers, Mr. Tobias, for information only. There is a total change in the AP statistics curriculum for next school year. Since that's national he does have to go to change. >> Yeah. there. Well, she so Shannon explained to me that there were curriculum updates and this that, but it's more than just a few updates. It's there's a lot of updates here and there and approaches and uh I'm sure that really really thick book we got will suffice everything. >> Sure, that will cover everything. Remember, the kids don't get that book and we're all online. >> I'm just being about that. But uh yeah that's um I think that's it for the report. Yeah that's >> thank
049you doctor. >> Um Pauline is show we have um just four readings for uh first reading policies and I will be um adding one more to the agenda uh next week. Uh student student teachers and interns. Just had to run that by the committee really quick. I forgot it on my uh agenda. And um a couple of abolishment of policies and these are just kind of uh extraneous policies that are covered that have been covered for a long time under collective bargaining agreement. That sort of thing that >> Thank you. none of those were new and there didn't seem to be too much that changed in the first reading. uh in the first reading ones. >> Yeah. >> No, no, these employment ones are all quite old. I think they date back to like >>
0502014, 2015 PSBA. Like they don't even have published >> new things really for them. >> And these ones that were abolishing, they probably weren't touched since 1999. Thank you. >> Uh education. >> Uh we will be um voting to renew the waterfront learning agreement. Um that's an annual event. We've been using that for a while. Nothing new there. and cue the the lines or the the ropes or the lines for the textbook that will go on display. Anyone here would like to look at it. Um Marine has a copy over there. That's intro to literature for grades 6 to 12 >> book and that does have um online curriculum but it has that book that can also be used if students prefer the tactile >> part of copy. >> Yes. Thank you. >> Thank you
051for >> Yeah. So most of these are just renewals. They're all and so these are all to set us up for the 26 27th school year. I'll go through real quick. Um our agreement with the Bradley school we do every year. And by the way, this doesn't mean with all these agreements we have kids currently there. It just leaves us open if we have to send them. So I won't repeat myself as I did for all of them. So, it's the renewal of the Bradley School agreement, the Adelfoy Education Services Agreement, the Day School with the Children's Institute agreement, uh, MHY Family Services used to be referred to as Longore Academy. That's why we still put that in there. They had changed their name. So, those first four are just renewals that we do every
052year for out of district placements if needed. Um there is a memorandum of understanding we do every year with the Mont Lebanon school district with regards to they offer an adult and continued education program in driver's ed of our students to do the class theory and behind and or the behind the wheel for the program over at Mount Le. So it's always been there. Um so we have that that's just another renewal. And then uh items six, seven, and eight are all renewals with the AIU. Um, and here's what they are. So, every year you have to agree the service agreement uh with the services that the AIU provides for next year. And for information only in item number six, you'll notice that if we decide to use those services, we're not obligated to use
053just in their manual and we pick and choose. if there's a if there's a organization out there or that provides better services or better places to deal with them. Um there's a special education addendum that goes along with it. That's the pricing for any of these special education services. In that one there, you'll see the services where what are the services for OTP? uh if we have to do a lot of uh uh AIU helps us do some of our um testing uh evaluations to to do the uh re-evaluations or new evaluation reports in the event we need them. We do have our own two school psychologists who are more than capable can handle the services but in the event they can't we have it there. And item number eight is the school-based access program.
054So you have to approve that every year. And that just means that we're going to follow all of the guidelines by the federal government as far as drawing down dollars and access and so on and so forth, which Joe and Miss Faren are involved and do it. So that's it. Everything on there is just we got them early. We normally put them in June and I said, "Let's do them now and get them out of the way." So that way the June agenda be a little shorter. Not much, maybe just a half a page, but for the most part, you know, there. And then the last one on there is an agreement we do every year. That's for that's for the uh children under the bikini vento act, any children who are experiencing homelessness. This
055is our letter of agreement to work with the homeless liaison coordinator in Alageney County and the services that everything under this report for next week's nursing news just we renew it every year. Yes. because it's the services that our kids are are uh being provided or given the opportunity. So, uh unless there's any other questions. >> Yeah. Where where's the Bradley House? >> Up in Robinson Township. >> Robinson. >> Yeah. It's off of Campbell's Run Road. >> Okay. In Industrial Park up here, you know where the number one thing is up in that area? >> Yeah. I thought there >> Oh, that's the Bradley House. It's the Bradley Center. >> Oh, Bradley Center. Bradley. >> So I didn't answer >> what >> he said. The Bradley. So I didn't answer your question. The Bradley I
056answered your question. The Bradley Center. >> Yeah. >> Okay. The Bradley house. You just got that answer. Those are two different places. >> Yeah. Okay. That's what I always >> Sorry. That's my report. I knew what I was focused on. Sorry. I should have answered you that way. That's the Yeah, that is different. Thank you. >> Um personnel, >> thank you. Um next week we'll have at least one resignation, uh at least one appointment. Um and we will be approving the 2026 summer academy program for Miss Jones. um the student summer work program students uh there. And then we will also be approving family and medical leave along with intermittent medical family and medical the appointment for um it's just listed as a dayto-day substitute. Is that just going to be open-ended um continuing into
057next year potentially? Uh, no. I believe she's actually may get she may be done now. Um, it was left open because we weren't sure how long she could um sub for and it was needed through the year, but um I believe she's not going to be able to finish out the year. So, we'll probably have just >> wait. So, oh 205. >> Okay. Thank you. >> If that's okay. I just want to add one thing for item number um four, the student summer work program. If there's anybody online or anybody right now for later on, we are looking for students for the summer work program more than here. I believe it's still being advertised on our website. >> You just got to you just got to perfect. So if that's very important to us, then
058we're looking for more and more. So um we could also I know Sarah's on there to make sure that we get out of parents square every few days and push this out. Yeah. on on the student summer work program. >> How many are we looking for in total? >> Ideally, >> I mean, I'll take all of them in all because a lot of these kids uh have other things they do, so they can only work one or two days a week and you know, as long as they behave and they're good, we love to have them here, help out. So, we'll take um all of them um and you know, use them as best we can. Again, if they have other commitments, we understand, we'll work with them. Um you know, we're open to just
059one or two days a week if that's all they can do. Great. Kind of like teachers getting this word out would probably be the best, >> right? >> Yeah. And I believe it did go on parents and students day because we have gotten a lot of emails from student accounts um getting the notice and emailing that they're interested. So um I think we had today just probably um five to 10 um people that have inquired about it. So usually we get a decent turn on that. >> Good. >> Thank you. >> That concludes my report. >> Thank you. >> Uh finance. Um so next week we are going to be discussing approval of the next year budget course. Um and then there is the monthly accounts payable approval list. Um and the athletic training and
060physician services agreement for UPMC as well. Um that hasn't changed. They've been providing our athletic trainers for quite a long time. >> Yeah. And I will say um across the state and especially around here locally um a lot of the athletic trainers are pulling out. Um AHN has pulled out of a lot of districts. We have been talked that they're no longer providing that. Um and actually UPMC has been pulling out because they don't have those trainers. So we are lucky that because we were one of their first um districts, they're continuing to work with us have those um individuals. But um while there is an increase um like I said a lot of these districts don't know what they're going to do because um UPMC and uh AHA cannot provide these training services. So
061um districts may have to start looking at hiring their own athletic trainers um through staff and things like that. We're not there and we save cost but that's just >> that's a pretty significant increase. >> Yeah. >> But it's 82 over five. >> Yeah. It's about $16,400 per year. Um, like I said, we did try to talk to A10. Um, they aren't providing any schools and actually have pulled out of quite a number of schools that are out there and UPMC is also doing the same too. They're pulling out of schools. it it's at a point where I said to Joe, I don't know how much longer you're going to see athletic both a and UPMC offering any athletic trainers to the point where school districts will have to you want to have it. This
062is a very important service. We're going to have to hire our own and some districts are facing that right now where they pulled out this UPM they won't take on any new clients in order to >> are they going to be able to honor a fiveyear agreement with >> we check on we do since we have been with them we're there we provide so yeah we do luck out on that I've talked to a lot of other districts that are jealous because we have train there but yeah we >> to Joe's point I we sort of went to market and I spoke with the other group, PHN group has it and there's not sustainability over there right now. They're pulling out a lot. So, >> it's Yeah. >> Is it lack of people or >>
063Yes. So, it's two things. It's lack of people and a lot of bureaucracy within both of those things where these particular programs under the underage and under UPMC are just being cut back funding and stuff for them is just being cut back. What do they do? What does that position do? When are they here? >> Um game. >> Yeah. During all games, here home games. Sometimes they travel here during practice and practices. Um they work with students. that come in early um during school. Sometimes I work with kids that they have injury um help them, you know, they do a lot of work like that. They're pro and they're probably more visible. They're always around, but you you see you'll see them. They're very visible at football games, soccer games over at the state. You
064see them there. They are they are popping in and out at our softball games, baseball games, the track, and with all the track events here. Josh or one he's usually there a lot of times they're in their rooms down by locker rooms wait room in the winter you'll see them down there working with basketball kids you know for wrestling them so they're there you know you know required like is there some legislation that requires us to have that or district to have that there's not legislation on it it's it's >> protection of your liability >> yeah to the student athletes best around. >> Yeah, there there's no legislation on it. There's nothing. It's Yeah, I think we're having >> I didn't know what they did till my kid got a concussion >> in the pool
065over Christmas. >> Yeah. >> And I got a call from somebody. I was like, "Oh, >> slip turn." >> Huh? >> Slip turn. >> Um, no. Now, they didn't have the flags up and she was >> backstroking. So, >> do you count? >> Yep. But she didn't have a like she starts I guess counting at flags. >> The lane line change. >> Yeah. So, she cracked her head pretty hard. We had to go to >> she she kind of rang her bell, right? But he made us go back like four times to the to the brain doctor and get her cleared, which >> you know, I'm a mom. >> That's a lot, but it was worth it. It's nice that we had him there, you know, otherwise maybe she would have just kept swimming and
066nobody would have noticed. >> You would know better than anybody cuz with your boys coming through, the athletic trainers, are they the ones that also sit down and do the initial impact testing the kids? So everything on the computer, they're doing all the logging and stuff they're basically. Okay. I just before I I thought so, but >> Yep. >> Yeah. >> So, my my you know, even though we're getting the same services and it's a pretty good price was it looks like a lot, but to Annie's point, you know, 16 or um I'm hoping with the number of individuals that we had staff this year, we have the exact same number that keep that number only have one. We have I think three. >> We have three. >> Yeah. Yeah. And then sometimes they'll have
067other students come and help the state. >> They don't then >> we're going to watch we're going to watch the agreement. Yeah. >> But hopefully for we don't have to think about an alternative. Yeah. >> Um and then the advertisement of bids. Um the motion to approve the HHS PR architect as we saw that in the monthly right that was a big big amount of big amount yeah and then there's of course for information only so the the Chromebooks that were purchased is that was that in a particular school was that elementary school level It's for a certain grade level. I forget which grade level he's on right now. Um what we do now is um we purchased them now for next year. So we reset the budget a few years ago to do that.
068So um I believe it may be just fifth and sixth grade that we're placing. Say it's an older one. Um I'll find out for sure. >> I mean 450 would probably cover more than two. >> Yeah, they had actually Yeah, they had it. It is for a certain grade whichever ones are phasing out there. But he now is just buying smaller amounts each year to replace them as they go rather than one large amount at a time. >> Yeah. >> Mr. Buyers, could you turn back to the bids, please? I got a Mr. Cubak question. the advertisement bids. Um, HHSDR, do are they going to make the final choice on these or is it up to the school board? >> So, it's up to the board to ultimately approve. This is just to advertise that
069we aren't going out for bid. Um, once we get the specs and things, we'll share them with them. But, that's not they're not expecting till I think July um for it. We just want to approve it now so they can start working on it, get that out. But then at the um August board meeting, we would hopefully have um the successful winning bid on there. Again, that'd be up to the board on there. >> And the contract is for three schools under one umbrella for phase one, right? >> Yeah. So, because we rejected all bids last month, um we are now adding Dormmont Myrtle into what we were going to do for A. It'll be all under one. >> All three. Yes. >> Okay. Yeah, that's what I thought we were going to do. And
070the building infrastructure improvements. Is that uh is that including the electrical, plumbing, HBAHC? >> Yes, that's all that Yeah, that's all that >> this is a pretty this will be a pretty big >> general contractor will be in there for it. >> Do we hire a general contractor? >> So that's bid out um that's part of the bid or one of the bids that they'll bid on that. >> I just make it clear. So it's under all three schools. >> All three schools bid. Yeah, >> thank you. >> Okay, thank you. Um, activities and athletics report. >> All right, we got three items. One is a competitive event. Uh, motion to approve the following competitive event. It's got to see the mind level three. Uh all the information is listed there. >> We have 12
07112 students. So is that two teams? >> Yes. >> Two teams. Okay. Good. Two teams advance and then two coaches. And the cost for the coaches is higher than the cost for the students. >> So they will be um renting something and um going where rather than break out district cost for students there um you know it'll be covered because we do have to pay for them to go and their cost as well. So that's why it's a little higher. Um they are you know going an Airbnb um to figure out. So there are some things that are a little higher just because of what they're going this year to try to save cost overall. >> So we've added things under the sponsors and coaches. >> We always pay 100% for and we only pay
072$500 for students. >> Okay. Yeah. And then in the past we haven't been asked for um what they're doing for travel, Airbnb cost. It's always been um other things where the district hasn't had to, you know, cover that. Okay. Yeah. Just wanted to make sure that >> uh we second item is the approval of the air scholastic athletics for 2627 school year for policy 123 for the fall winter and spring sports that are all listed. >> Is that a typo on number two? >> Yes. >> Okay. I don't know if it was some abbreviation I wasn't aware of. >> And we have no changes that correct. >> And the last item is the approval of the athletics for the 2627 school year for policy 122. And those uh are all listed below. Do we have
073any changes there? >> Uh there have been some removals. Um some of the clubs did not meet um the 12 student average um or give us uh documentation. We have reached out to them. Some of these clubs may be added back next year or next week if we get the data and it's adequate enough. But there have been um some eliminations. There are um I'm not sure if there's any new clubs. I think they all waved it. One new club um on there that didn't meet the requirements. Oh yeah, the English school. Um and then there was totally going to be another one, but that one was on. So um one club was added, I believe. Um I may have removed five that didn't meet it. So >> we could potentially see some >> Yeah,
074there are some Yeah. where we have head talks um you know there, but anyone who did not meet those um I have removed for next year for that two year and a half. Was the best friend club from there? >> Uh, yes. Best friend club is still at all. They Yes, they have. >> Okay. Well, I know they that's well attended. >> I think the dance club is missing from there. Wasn't there a dance team or something that >> Yeah, there was a line dance. I know that one didn't meet um enrollment. I I'll get a list for the board just so you guys know. I'll send it out um to you guys once we get all the data. We'll say >> All right, that's all I got. >> Thank you. And um another public
075comment >> doctor >> I have a question for Dr. >> discussion I'm the only one. Wait, wait. >> Doctor, can I ask you on on the calendar, last day of school is uh >> finance >> June 4th. >> 4th. Commenions are the 8th. >> No, commencements are the 29th. season back.
