live streams. >> It kept cutting out and going back on and and everyone had been >> Well, then we should have recessed the meeting and held it a different night. It's not fair to the public. [laughter] >> It's not a requirement. >> Actually, it is, Joy. >> Okay. >> There was a motion. >> Okay. I know. >> [laughter] >> We don't know. Let's take the vote. People have heard the words. I like what Harry had to say. >> Okay. Roll call vote. U Mr. Wayne Deliver. >> Yes. >> Mr. Jeremy BL. >> Yes. >> Miss Other. >> No. >> Mrs. Karen Sidler? >> No. Miss April Walker, >> yes. >> Mr. Richards, >> Miss Barbara, >> absolutely not. >> And Mr. Yes. >> There we go. [laughter] >> You want to go? >> Yes. all
that close at this time. Do any board members do [laughter] that um that seating someone for the new board is seated that myself and Jeremy that's exactly how we were seated was before >> we were >> yes so neither of you >> I I get the biggest kick out of it how some people are saying that we need to learn to work with the new board even though we've done good things over the last year or two. I've only been here for a short while, but nobody's saying that the new board members need to learn to work with us. [laughter] >> Because they thought they were going to win the majority. I don't care what they thought. You have four and four. Why not work together? >> So Dave Bradley is just a man. He's
not an insane ogre and people can work with him as easily as they [laughter] work with others. All right. Does anyone want to make a public comment? >> There are some slips that people filled out. >> Bill, do you wish to speak at the end? >> I had to say, but I'll say it again. I I wish to stand on this way. May I ask you a question? >> Yes, sir. >> How is How is appointing Dave Bradley an attack? >> I didn't say it was an attack. >> Okay. I'm just I'm just asking. >> I I I think he is disruptive. It always has been. >> He has um just been nonproductive in the meetings. I I will agree. He's a smart man, but I don't think he did his time on this board
and we couldn't wait. You folks could have waited until December to do this. And I before he made their vote, I nearly begged you not to do it. And I promise that more fairly with you guys. I this could have gone a different way. It's going to be it's going to make for probably a more difficult experience for all of us. >> I'm not just Tim and I, Rory, and Alex. It's going to be a difficult process for everyone. Dave's going to sit over there. He's gonna he's going to just run these meetings crazy. >> And do you believe that Gail Maholic and I were mistreated when we were >> I wasn't you know honestly I didn't really participate in the board meeting. I didn't show up at the at that point in time. So
I don't know. >> Fair. That's good. >> I I I really only started showing up when I started to develop some interest in running for the board. So, I um I listen to some of the meetings, some of the live feeds. I watched my wife walk in at 10, 11, nearly 12:00 at night because she was here at the meetings. Um so, again, we're still open to talking about it. if all of a sudden someone decides to resign, I can again promise you folks that we would work fairly with all of you and and and try to come up with an acceptable um board appointment for that last seat. It's um I guess it's not too late again this morning. I I >> I hope we can still try to work this out. Um because
I'm really looking out for the the entirety of the board, not just us. we're all going to be sitting through it. There's no controlling him when he gets going. Um, when it comes to a lot of things, I I I feel the right to knows as long as it doesn't violate privacy issues for students and teachers and employees, let them have it. Like I I I I've been always a believer that why fight what we he should be getting, I guess, anyway, you know, whatever that may be. Um, and I'll when I sit on this board starting in December, I'll be the guy saying give it to them because I think it's fine. Like I I don't feel there's anything to hide other than protecting the privacy of our students, faculty, staff, you know, you
know, that kind of stuff. The stuff that takes care of you guys do an executive session. I haven't been in one yet, so I don't know exactly how that works, but I look forward to it. Um, we ran I feel like a very civil, non-confrontational campaign. Some of the responses were due to it's a pretty aggressive talk online. Um, but it never got nasty on our side and I'm proud of the way we >> people were pretty upset about what was said about Kirk Henry. >> That was during the primary. >> Okay. I mean I >> a lot of community members were really furious about what your group had said about him. >> There were a lot of things that he did not say about >> well he's talking about me and I defend myself
talking about you >> made one-sided comments about people writing on against the board about finding out facts that negatively affected them. So we talked about convex antorum. You didn't show the court. >> We showed plenty of it and we didn't say half of what we knew. So we really >> Oh. So So only only grading people a little is okay. >> No. >> All right. >> I'm gonna I'm gonna end this. >> I mean I wasn't up here talking about that. >> Yes. Understood. >> Beyond the three minutes. I don't know why you have concerns about me being on this board in terms of you being unsafe or alienated or something. What would I do? >> Probably one of your running mates who was actually part of the administration during that. >> There's quite a
lot of videos that um I wanted to address that personally with you, sir. >> I don't know what you're talking about. Is this the first time you and I have ever spoken? I've never I'm not one of those people prior to this whole thing of hosting and talking to somebody. >> I'm author Bill if you like you can give you we can share phone numbers after this meeting is over and I think we should talk tomorrow. >> I I am all about it. I I wish we had spoken earlier about stuff because I don't fully disagree with most of what you guys have done up here and that's why I said continue and not undo. >> Um you've done the good things. You know you have some, you know, some controversies, some different issues that
I've had issues with, but nothing that I, you know, I feel are are complete deal breakers. And you know, I I I do feel sitting up here with a 90 board has been a luxury for you guys. April asked why I ran. Number one, I'm allowed to run. I'm the taxpayer. I've lived here for 26 years. No question about that. >> Um it was Bill, you're beyond what's commented general. >> Sure. Bill, can you please wrap it up in your >> Sorry. >> Jason would like to make a comment. >> Yeah. So, my job as superintendent is to work with whoever nine is sitting at this table and I take that job incredibly seriously and I know that board members typically speaking take their role very seriously too. I heard a lot of lot of
lot of people talking tonight and I'm not going to comment on issues, candidates, etc., etc. But my sincere hope is that everybody comes to the table, every sitting board member, every prospective board member who's coming on with really two main focuses and priorities because it's really all that matters after all of this. There's there's really only two things and I think that both sides will absolutely agree with what I'm about to say. I think all individuals forget sides because sides are actually gone now. Right? Two things. One, what is absolutely the best thing for students. Two, at a cost the community can afford. And no matter where you're coming from and you're sitting part of this collective board, I truly hope that as a district, we can bring those two things to the forefront in
every decision we make. And if we do that consistently, thoroughly based on the best information at hand, then we will be able to continue to move forward. But quite frankly, there's going to have to be a period of time where everybody's going to have to make an incredible effort to put a lot of things aside. We just went through, think about this, on a federal level, what was it, a 40ome day shutdown, a state level where a budget went over 140 days without being passed. And right now what we're looking at tonight is truly that same sort of polarization on a local level. And that quite frankly is not good for kids. It's not the best for kids and it's not the best thing for taxpayers. So, I I implore all prospective board members who
will be here on our December reorganization, just please keep that in mind for everybody. I I I think, you know, as I'm sitting here and listening, [clears throat] I I truly hope that that's what we can do and we can put a lot of this aside and and move in that direction. So, thank you for giving me the opportunity. >> Thank you. >> Folks are ready for it. I make a motion to adjourn the meeting. >> Second. >> All those in favor? >> I opposed. Eyes have it. 849. >> How long are you on the board? Okay. You got I thought you were >> No, they came on.
