michelle's going to be virtual right michelle's virtual right no michelle brandon michelle paul michelle yeah she's virtual right and dr oberg is on virtual and jason is out of town yes i did know that michelle let me talk to her i just i can't always see okay all right good evening we are going to call the committee meeting for july 21st 2022 to order at 601 pm dr oberg is he online yes i am good evening dr oberg good evening miss jackson uh good evening to our our board of directors everyone that is in attendance tonight and also those are online i just want to start by saying um upon returning from my family vacation i contracted covid uh so i'm following the guidance of the cdc for the next five days i have to
say within the last probably 24 hours i felt the best i have in the last four days so it does look like things are turning a corner for me so that's where i'm at tonight i wish i could be there with you but i'll do my best to follow along with everyone and i can hear everyone very fine here so that's good to see we have two items for committee tonight the first is going to be a presentation made by our middle school high school art teacher michelle orbanek along with mr chet welk middle school principal and they're going to be making a presentation about the year-long work with our artists and residents there at the middle school i believe many of the board members had the opportunity a few months back to see some
of the murals are put up there but i'm going to allow for them to make that formal presentation so i'll ask mrs urbanic and mr welch to come to the podium good evening everyone uh it's always exciting to have an opportunity to showcase some of the great work that our students and our teacher mrs urbanic have accomplished last school year mrs urbanic and mrs diane adams the resident artist in claysville have put a ton of work into this project uh with our students and i'm very proud of the work they accomplished and i thought it would be a great idea to share uh with the school board and the community so i'm going to turn it over to mrs urbanic hi there ken is this hi um thank you for having me i made a
very lightweight presentation so it only took a few minutes for you to see everything we've done um first things we did oh let's turn it on sorry i clicked it once it's green i'm gonna try it one more time if not i'm gonna tell mr wilson he said he could control it if i if i didn't what's up there it is that's the first one okay maybe we just needed to be close yeah okay i'll see you okay thank you okay so um first we brainstorm words and phrases that were inspiring to us and that we'd like to see on the wall so diane came in and she met the kids and we just talked about all kinds of things we wanted to see on the mirror we just completely threw everything up at her
that we wanted to see in it you know just a bunch of ideas so those are all the kids um some of the well there was three classes so we had um a lot of students participating i would say maybe if there's roughly 25 in a class so 75 85 kids were participating in this experience and um after we made us like a sketchbook sort of presentation for the teacher and miss cyan abs for myself mr adams to see what we wanted we threw everything up in the world took a picture of it and then next slide please um she came in the next week she was coming once a week just so you know for three periods a day and she stayed much longer than that and at the end she ended up coming
in later than that also but we did some um word art where just to practice seeing some skills that the kids had see if there any special talents anyone was extra interested with working with diane and um okay thank you okay so um we just practiced first after you know seeing the words we wanted we practiced what we wanted to do with them and then eventually um a lot of i don't wanna say delays but like the cancellations in the virtual school you know got in the way so eventually at some point i brainstormed and researched all kinds of ways to take their words and make them into word art so these are all from google images so i just like screenshot and you can see on some of them i might have written like
the background background excuse me needed to be changed on imagine i want to see something else in the background of sunshine but mostly those were suggestions and the kids just took them and ran with them so it worked last time okay so um then we primed the boards they talked about primer and gesso and the similarities and the differences between the two which it's just a surface for painting on and um i drew the word art over top so we helped with measuring miss diane and i helped with measuring and starting things but it was truly um their their drawing and everything they figured out how to space it and how to take it from a little piece of paper onto this big um these are the finished part we have here we brought two
over so yeah i believe they're two foot by two foot they look like two foot to you ah thank you works for me so some of them we were thinking about having words that span two boards and we did that with a with dream big it is if you've seen it yet it's all on the display but these two are separate obviously um and then set the kids into groups and they chose their own people they wanted to work with and it sort of changed throughout the weeks as you know weeks went on and there was a lot of um cheerleading because things that go on for a long time i think we learned this year at least one thing i learned this year was like effort was harder this year for kids to get
along with but this really helped them with that sustained effort and that sustained motivation it's just like we're seeing progress like instead of being like stagnant like what are we doing today they could see the progress they were making so that was really fun that was a good part of the year um and they're taping for straight edges so we learned all different ways to connect the the paints with the boards so sometimes you have to put a certain layer of one paint before the other or like a like a mod podge or different things to get different effects so they all had fun there's all the kids i don't think i got a complaint all the while miss diane was painting with small groups also outside the room so i learned from her as
well how to tape things off you can see um there's a small photograph on the left above someone that she didn't want their photograph taken so i just put that photo above it's the back of her head anyway um but i learned how to tape off and how to scale things a lot size let me just think how to say that scale thing's a lot larger also and you can see kids taping off and they had to use the level and measure that green down the center of the photograph the center of the board they had to measure each space and that's where the teachers sign their names which was really cool you'll see at the end so you can see everyone else working as well and then everyone got a chance to paint even
take your toddler to work day which was um or take your child to work day excuse me i'm sorry that was a toddler there though um so everyone got to paint that wanted to paint and they chose their own colors um and they mixed them up themselves it was like truly student centered and then voila that's what we have at the end so i learned a lot about keeping kids motivation going and um just keeping the momentum keeping the pride because we've done murals in the past on the wall but since these ones were smaller they weren't grasping the concepts quite at first of what we were doing but as they saw it progress they got more and more excited so i hope you like them they're beautiful and i would just say the the
pictures don't do them justice i mean they're good but if you get the opportunity to stop down and actually see them they're amazing thank you good job thank you well i'm thinking in between the committee meeting and the regular meeting well just maybe a little educational trip down the hallway sounds good thank you thank you yeah yeah and just to conclude um you know this mrs urbanic learned through mrs adams how to do all this scaling and all this work so we hope to continue to do these projects um that that get student engagement and student excitement um in our building and and thank the uh the board and dr oberg for supporting um having mrs adams help mr zurbanic so thank you thank you michelle this is dr welcome to residence right now you
had a japanese lady here i've had um i've had a japanese lady by the name of hiromi katarama um we've had i've had people in the elementary school too because i was down at klaysville for 10 years so i've had tom starver was down there i've had a bunch of people at playsville and joe walker when i was at both actually and we're hoping to have laura jean mclaughlin this next semester due semester or excuse me do mosaics next semester so we have plans if you um like what we're doing just wait and see thank you so much for the opportunities thank you thank you thank you [Music] i was just saying thank you mr bank and mr walk i do love what you and the middle school students have done uh it does make
um that space beautiful and i love seeing the students work so continue with the great work the second presentation tonight is from chief roger zaminski uh he's be presenting on a web-based application for its emerging management suite that we've been investigating called navigate 360. and we're looking to implement this application for the coming school year 2022-2023 if adopted this evening during the regularly scheduled meetings so i'm going to ask chief vermin zimmenski to come and make the presentation on navigate 360. chief thank you dr appreciate it thank you thank you madam president for the time um we're gonna we're gonna switch gears though because mr wilson already has the uh um this is uh basically a uh version of what i presented to the board last month as i'm required to do uh by the
school code and by the legislate so uh this is a version that you asked me to present to the uh to the public so this is basically a um uh more of us a state of the union of our uh of our safety and security posture in the district and so i guess i have that okay next so um basically just to give you an overview we talked a little bit about the the police officers and the security guards we hire we have four police officers in our district and we're full four uh full four commissioned police officers by the court of common pleas we all have uh the same powers that local police officers have in uh in our area here and then we hire we also have four security school security guards that
uh that we also have have in our district and we also continue uh we train continuing education with those folks along with our police officers we also do continue education with the municipal police officers training commission and also uh various other agencies and we're pretty active in that in fact officer siege and officer demi have just uh graduated from advanced nashville training the national association school resource officers and they're going to alex instructor training next month so so we're trying to we're trying to keep up with that and officer livehard and i have already have those two certifications so now we're ready okay so a couple things that i'm in charge of this is one of them this is safe to say program so the safe state program is a program that was developed back
through the sandy hook foundation and it actually was picked up here in the in the state by the state attorney general's office and they have assumed uh operating uh control of that that started in january 14th of 2019 and we are we are in that program with everybody else in the state and that's a really neat program it's an anonymous tip line that they can call in and um and they can say anything we've had we've had a lot of complaints um called in and the one amazing thing i i believe i have passed this on to you the board directors that um uh probably about 90 of the time we get a complaint our our school counselors already know about it they're just amazing it's just it's a great tool to have the school
counselors and i thank you all for that they're uh they're just been a great big help to us uh they it it's so funny we go to them and mr wilkin had tested that we go to them where he faded off there sorry but uh mr walken tested that we go to him and we tell him about our tip that was received and he says we're already on it so that's what we like to hear so that works out good for us mr wilson so um i'm talking a little about here but i'll talk more about it after i finish this presentation but we'll talk about the nav the navigate 360 program navigate 360 is a pretty big global company they've uh they've invested a lot of time and resources into emergency management's management suites
and this particular one we're looking at is uh pretty awesome that'll contain our emergency operation plan it'll also contain maps of the district buildings that will be able to pass and and update continuously and pass on to our ems brethren uh state local police fire ems the county uh the kind of uh hazmat team whatever whatever whoever needs to get that information can get it fast and automated through this program it also has a couple other steps to it which i'll go in later here in this uh my next presentation so we're also in in spirit with uh with the platform we're we're uh developing and we're gonna get our safety committee off the ground and you can see that also uh i didn't put in there but it also will have a community membership
in that too but uh we're uh we're looking forward to getting that going and that should be uh we should be launching that within a week or two and we do have uh two board members that have volunteered to be on that with us which which is tremendous so last uh just the beginning of the the calendar year of this year 22 we started an audit with the state attorney general's office and it was our safe uh school safe schools audit and um in that audit it's uh we're required to do by act 44. we received some some recommendations and we have already made effort to start working on those recommendations and already started our response back to the to the audit group so and uh again i'm proud to say this is our fifth
year we'll be doing alice training with uh with the staff and faculty and uh also with the students and we'll uh we'll actually start that we uh dr gotren is uh has given us time this year not that he hasn't given time to us in the past but he's given time to us this year and along with the rest of the uh our 48 committee to uh to fit in some some really good training times and we have a substantial amount of time that we're we're going to have for our staff and faculty and then we'll pass that on to the students um we'll also be starting this year we're going to be conducting vulnerability assessment threats on building and also if there's any students personnel we'll be doing that in conjunction with the administrative
team and also our counseling team and we also every day we just continue to solicit to our staff and faculty any ways that they think that they can help us or we can improve our physical security posture in the district we are currently scheduling our our school security drills our severe weather preparedness and also our monthly fire drills we're should have those up in a calendar and we'll every time we do that one of those drills they'll be pre-notification to the to the families and let them know exactly what's going on and when we're doing it so with with that drill we always uh we always send out notification as i said and let them know when the drills are going to be conducted and we'll also send out a notice when we start the
drill and when we conclude the drill uh along with that with that we also send out information so if um if students feel a stressful situation where they need to opt out of the of the training due to a an experience of violent trauma that they had or a violent incident they were involved in uh we'll screen those again using our counseling team and uh we'll be able to make a make a decision that'll fit and work for for student and and for uh for the rest of the the faculty and staff so i have any uh questions from the board no thank you all right well thank you well this yes sir will we be able to pay for this out of the 200 000 estate just approved for safety well well that'll be
the 360 he hasn't given that presentation yet yeah um um we're still we're still figuring out what we can do with that money yet but uh that that hasn't come down yet with their okay there we go i think that uh does that help you mr leisure yes thank you thank you mr nirvana appreciate it okay so um just real quick i'm coming around to the the clubhouse turn here doc almost done so uh um did you have this one up it wouldn't go up okay all right so if uh you can uh refer to your uh to your packet that i passed out to you the brochure the uh this uh this program is is just every time i read it it just it it's so gonna fit every every need that we have
it has a mobile spoke process to it where we can put our safety plans in there we can give access to uh to the teachers and and uh and the staff to uh to get in and get information on the emergency operation plan it just allows us to have a better way to get our plan out and to uh to all our stakeholders and to um uh to all our shareholders excuse me and uh and also to the uh local ems and police in a very quick and very quick manner the it also provides maps and floor plans which is a very a very needed thing for law enforcement there's as you know state police switches people there constantly at the barracks it's very difficult for us to get the same person to come out
on a call so they'll be able to access this program in their car actually send it to their um to their dispatch same with uh same with the local police and we get a tremendous amount of support i can't speak highly enough at chief yankozek and donegal township police they really support us tremendous so that'll also be extended to them and also extended to our fire companies that support us and uh chief hildebrand with claysville fire company they they they support us in every and every move we do here even down to directing traffic for parades for us so and even uh they escorted the children up to the cemetery for us last year and which is just tremendous for us this also program also has flip charts so the we can put in solutions
and things situations and solutions to situations or scenarios and and they can the uh the teachers can access that and also the um staff and faculty can access it and and also the administration it also has virtual binders where we can put all our stored information our emergency operation plan all our annexes to it in special instructions everything can go in there it's all one spot where the um where where the user can get whatever they need and here's a really special thing about it it has a reunification portion to it which is uh which is tremendous for us and that is uh you know if we have an incident we need to reunify the children with her with their families this program will assist us in that and also assist us in daily uh
or our monthly fire drills and also our other severe weather drills we have and other preparedness drills that we we conduct it'll also give us a complete record and accurate record of each student as where they're supposed to be at and who they're with the teachers can actually use their phones and communicate back to us administration wise and let us know exactly who is accounted for and who's not and then as we as we account for them we're able to remove them from the from the list back and forth so um i uh i actually got a a couple a couple programs uh mr venata uses this at quaker valley and and uh last time a couple months ago mr wilson and i got to lean over his shoulder and watch him uh actually go
through he set a drill up for us he set up how the how to to take the students on and off the list if you uh if the student is missing the student's not accountable with a teacher we're you showed me exactly how to do it it's it's very much uh so more efficient than having a the old red card green card system i mean a lot of people know the old red card green card system it was just a piece of red paper and a piece of green paper you filled on the green paper who you had and you filled on a red paper who you didn't have yeah and then we graduated to the you know the red apple yes the green i forgot the green was like a stop sign thing yeah
so we uh so this is uh far cry uh so much uh in the 21st century um where where we actually should be and it's uh it's a it's a really um great program the uh just the organization of it keeping all the records in one place it follows uh the uh the way that emergency operation plan is set up it follows all the requirements in the state audit it it'll keep us compliant with that it'll keep us compliant with with having everything we're supposed to have and and will keep us on timelines where we have our timelines due for our for our safe school reports and it's just uh it's it's just a tremendous tool i think it's going to be a big help to us uh throughout uh you know continuing in our
effort to uh to keep our schools safe so mr bennett did i miss the i miss any key that you think kind of um device or their scholarship device could set off an alarm to notify everybody in the building it could be anything from them to the medical emergency [Music] um my schedule is a testament uh this platform combined with 901 solutions and only the emergency alerts will go directly to the current dispatcher okay so versus versus going to the number that you load in there it will now go to 911 for you okay i see that uh that that's a pretty that's a pretty speed up process what it has now is is you can actually load certain numbers in there so like my cell phone um if it's joe walker officer livehard or
claysville officer demi and also the principals at those buildings but then one of you would have to call 9-1-1 yes yeah so it takes that step out of it so i think what i read and i think we're still in that loop too though right yeah yeah still getting right um [Music] yeah so then um you would be able to do everything without causing panic or alarm because everybody would know it was a drug so you can still function it and then there's a testing mode too where you could use that to just test it without it alerting everybody good okay i'm great well thank you the one thing i like is god forbid we ever really have an emergency we would need it but if we do it saves those precious moments that you
don't get back you know absolutely make the difference in a lot of ways right the neat the neat thing about having this and and having the uh the the um the flip charts there it gives an exact step next step for people they're always saying to me what should we do next what should we do next and i think that's a nice i can just give you an example of how well it works so a couple years ago pre pandemic we had a gas leak at our middle school and obviously we all had to evacuate and go to our reunification site which was a church down the road but um once we got there within two minutes we were able to determine we were missing the student and then we sent the fire department into
the building here she was in the um locker room and had ear buds on and never heard the alarms with the alerts or the person going door to door telling everybody to get out so that that's how well it works so we were able to have her accounted for and notify her parents that we found there within a couple minutes yeah before you probably even got the whole group down to the reunification site yep yeah it's tremendous and that's just the the plus that i'm that i'm asking that we could we could fill that and we'd appreciate that so um that'll come up in your your board motion and i believe it's in section l number three um right now we're trying to uh trying to figure out where our funds would come from but
um uh mrs engelman is hopefully gonna work with us and we'll figure that out and we'll have an answer for you okay well thank you so much for your time any other questions for me i appreciate it thank you mr wilson doc thank you very much thank you all right thank you thank you sir that is madam president the only two items i have for committee tonight okay look at that so we're going to take um we'll do 15 minutes so that if anybody wants to go down and see the murals they can so um and go to the bathroom whatever they need to do so we're gonna end the meeting at 6 31 pm and we will come back at 6 45 for the regular meeting for those of you that are in attendance
online i'm going to mute all the microphones and cameras until 6 45 and then we will resume the regular meeting at that on point to get us online okay we are calling the regularly uh the regular monthly board meeting for mcguffey school district to order at 6 46 p.m on july 21st 2022 roll call please mr harden here present mr kern mr laser here miss heart [Music] she's here please join us for the flag of pledge united states of america and to the republic for which it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all at this point we will have public content on agenda items chief [Music] thank you i didn't go up there yet that timer is just so i can see my time if you give me one second
i'm trying to pull it up [Music] if you have a phone on you why don't you just set your own it might be easier if that's what you'd like me you guys are the board i want to be respectful and make sure that i abide by the policies i'm sure you will i can set mine that's fine just want to be respectful of the policies thank you i appreciate that yes ma'am oh not hours how about i give you seven hours i don't think i need to talk that long i promise you that go ahead all right i'm justin napoli from south franklin and uh i just wanted to make a comment about the the psba membership um just to go back to my last public comment which um i want to thank whoever put
it on there the the breakdown of what i asked for was the all access and standards so now that the community can take a look at it so they can actually break down to see what the pspa offers but some of the things that i um asked were like are we in the standard or all access and it seems based off of what's presented on the agenda for tonight for a vote is uh all access so i'm not quite sure why we would need all of that i know insurances are important obviously board docs would be important but some of the things that were a little bit of a red flag for me once i had the opportunity looking on the board doc's attachment equity resources and services so there was two school board meetings
ago where i told you that the pspa had a policy that was about equity and under that policy was gender and just to kind of remind the community as well as the board what they said that was drafted by the psba was individuals that identify as male female neither male nor female or both obviously i know that mcguffy that policy like that wouldn't be here but just considering that if you did do um the psba membership you pretty much would be investing in that type of ideology so i don't think that would be anything that the community would want so and then also to the legal advice of trying to push policies like that and from everything of what i've been hearing online about the psba training for solicitors it's it's more the lines of
kind of redirecting towards the policies of what the psba want and not what the community wants and more importantly what you guys are elected for to be the voice to make sure that the policies that we want are what we want and um one of the other things policy maintenance um obviously it would be to tailor to those types of policies i'm not saying that all the policies from the pspa are terrible i'd say pretty much like 80 of them are terrible um at least whenever it comes to um the ideology that's been creeping into school districts like crt sel social emotional yeah social emotional learning um let me see if i'm gonna hit all my points oh board self assessment with board report and interpretation so to me the these tradings that the pspa
offers to school board members is more like a systemic like mind thought more more the lines of what the psba says is kind of where it goes and anybody that goes against that it's it's not good but um they're not an authoritative body you guys are so you guys can kind of tell what you want and what you don't want um but i think it's it's valuable that the community knows that there is an option by law that you don't even have to be a part of the psba i know there would be a couple setbacks which would obviously you wouldn't have the board docs you wouldn't have some of the things that they offer but just depending on obviously us not taking a tax increase so thank you again for that these are ways
of you know saving the district thousands of dollars to just put in a little bit more effort that would probably be a lot of like be accommodating for for the community um so i would say uh since what's presented here i would hope that one of you and obviously would have a second to amend it whether to go just to the standard well you do it or even just table it again i don't know if there's a deadline for the psba membership when they need to know or if if the best case scenario to save a lot of money just not be a part of it at all but that that would be my suggestion and i appreciate your time thank you all thank you thank you thank you and president monique frye [Music] good
evening monique fry morris township the two items that i'd like to talk about are the school-based access program and the navigate 360. um i liked that presentation it did give a lot of information however it did leave me with some questions i'll start with navigate 360. my first question is what consists of parental consent is it the student attending mcgathey is it the student attending a particular class is it a student attending the sixth grade academy class also with the navigate 360 it's not just emergency management it's also social emotional learning that i particularly don't want my student um involved with and with that being said because it's the full access much like the psba is it something that we can only do or only purchase the um the emergency management portion of it or
do you have to purchase the entire thing is this program going to be downloaded onto all of the students laptops so that they have access to it just like the teachers what is the use of it besides the emergency management once you open the door for some of these things it's hard to get it closed and get rid of it whenever you find faults in it later i liked the sound of the emergency management being used for it a little bit of research that i've been able to do with it it looks like it would be useful however if you're purchasing full access you're purchasing to invite that social emotional learning into the classroom and then at that point where where does it lie with students do students have access to that if they do
how do i opt my child out of it for the school-based access program um what is it actually the same same question what consists of the parental consent i do know that it mentions that it is i think it somewhere written written parental consent but what consists of written parental consent is it something that happens that arises the need for the student to require the use of the school-based access program or is this something that is there a form that gets sent home to the parents for them to fill out to say yes if my student needs this you have access to it so on and so forth um the on the social emotional learning i'll go back to that sorry bouncing around a little bit um one of the things that is alarming to
me all of the social emotional learning curriculum and programs i'm sure everybody has now heard that it's based on castle [Music] castle um i don't know if any of you know what the pledge is for castle that teachers and students and administrators alike are asked to take the castle pledge and i'd like to read that to you i pledge to contribute to a caring just and thriving world to prioritize social and emotional learning for myself and others i will examine my own emotions identities beliefs and biases to understand how they impact the way i interact with others i will create spaces for others to explore their emotions strengths and assets and how they can be channeled to serve the collective well-being i will listen to young people elders and those who are different from me
i will work to build meaningful relationships so that i can better understand others perspectives experiences cultures and stories i will create inclusive environments where everyone feels a sense of belonging and where young people find purpose and passion i will work alongside others to identify and dismantle inequities stand up for injustice and use our collective voice and power to create spaces where everyone thrives i will use my power my privilege my time my work my influence my lived experience my love my passion my energy and my resolve because we because when we commit to social and emotional learning we can build stronger schools and communities today and more just in caring world tomorrow [Music] now that all sounds really good on paper but it's not one it's an unrealistic achievement goal and two to stand up
to injustices is a touchy one because you get into that critical race theory [Music] realm of of what is the injustices what are the injustices there are plenty of them for everybody but when you start getting into making things putting myself in a position where i need to make everybody around me better is not taking care of myself i cannot make everything better for everybody else i can only do things for myself and hope that things are better around me but to to pledge for something like that it branches out into some pretty touchy things that i personally don't think students of many ages should be involved in thank you thank you mad president last name person vicki jordan vicki jordan buffalo township i'm involved in a lot of non-profit so when i see things
on the agenda like disposal of supplies equipment so i guess my question is how are those disposed of do you auction to make money for the district um do you consider donating to nonprofits um i just have questions on how those are disposed of and do you think of the bigger picture other than just basically throwing them in a garbage can and then the other thing i have that's why i said i'm not going to be as deep as everybody else was tonight um i want to just address the psba briefly and dr roberg i'm sorry you're not feeling well and you're not here tonight but i'm going to give you a d on your assignment you were asked by the board two months ago to come back to the board with recommendations on what
you felt the district could live with or not live with and instead two months later we got a printout that any of us could have accessed so i hope next time the board gives you an assignment you do a little bit of a better job on that i'm a bit disappointed and i just wanted you to know that that's it for me thank you that concludes in-house okay anything online mr wilson anyone online we do have a few people online this evening if you're in attendance online and you wish to participate in public discussion on agenda items please use the raised hand function now there is nobody at this point with their hand raised okay thank you okay need a motion to approve the minutes of the june 16 2022 school board meeting as submitted

reconciliation okay [Music] you can correct me if i'm wrong is that at one point as a board we were um told that like hiring um our child psychologist in-house was going to save us money because then we wouldn't need to pay the iu for those services so i think the question is legitimate you know are we truly saving and what are we saving she's one that's interested in seeing like a more of a spreadsheet of like like i could i could email you last year's reconciliation yeah i would like i'd like to see that thank you thank you thank you very much that's all okay thank you mrs shingle any other discussion there we had a first in the second okay so all those in favor say aye aye opposed abstentions motion carries i need

say aye aye opposed abstentions motion carries i need a motion to approve the deletion of the applied horticulture cte program of studies from the mcguffey high school vocational agricultural curriculum effective the 2022-2023 school year second any discussion there if we take this away now we could cut bring it back later because she said there was lack of interest yeah and i believe mr bonus somebody asked you about the the number of students [Music] um pursue this course specific studies so um [Music] it's just one that we historically did we we lost some mcguffey kids to other districts that offered horticulture when they didn't here is that going to be an issue against [Music] five or six years but in reality so even though it was on the books all right thanks and there is no
interest in it right now anyway so but to answer mrs shingles original question if at some point there is student interest then we could revisit it yeah we could always revisit and put things more on each year right now so we're sort of going by demand now in terms of the course selection that we want to pull back in horticulture we would have to push everything okay thank you and mr shingle's point was that too going into the audit if you haven't listed and you're not running it you will get cited for that thank you thank you any other discussion all those in favor say aye aye opposed extensions motion carries i need a motion to approve a west greens or west green school district students to attend mcguffy high school during the 2022-2023 school
year to participate in the cte engineering technologies technician program of study second um any discussion all right what what grade will this student be entering junior and then are they an athlete that we're gonna have to worry about something coming down the road that's it any other questions all those in favor say aye aye um opposed abstentions motion carries i need a motion to approve to declare the text books listed under background information as unused and unnecessary and authorized authorized disposal of the items as per the terms and conditions of the district policy number 706.1 disposal of obsolete outdated equipment discussion i i just want to say that in regards to um vicki's question there i've worked at schools where we did get some of their old things they did give them to other places
and says anybody want these i don't know how the process works as far as equipment and things but i have a feeling that if you particularly said there's a need you could be considered we recently had some that this it came up i mean last month but the month before i think maybe and um with books especially contact dr oberg i think is what we actually said at the time excuse me that's that's correct um madam president that we said uh from last board meeting uh anytime we have that if you contact me we'll uh hold on to those books in in our back uh storage area for at least a week or two um again these are our textbooks that are old have been used a long time and that's why we're disposing of
them while you're on here with dr eberg um i know it's not this one but the for equipment um what's the protocol for that i mean i think sometimes it depends on whether the equipment is even still viable right and oftentimes that's what it comes down to we do have some equipment that i believe mr craig is looking at from joe walker in our library that he believes could be resold so in those cases where we still feel like the the item is viable and someone else would benefit from it we will look to have it sold but in the cases of what we're talking about here it is student teacher desks and they are beyond disrepair [Laughter] just because you guys will be probably seeing that come up periodically on different fonts just as
we try to organize and figure out what what textuals do we need to move out to replace um that anything we put on there we go through and we review we see the teachers are currently using this some of them have done this so far but there's some in the library storage that are from like copyright 1965 things like that they're really antiques yeah they're very valuable you know something we wouldn't pursue it so because you'll you might see that lots and lots of points every month we're improving thank you thank you to everybody who answers the question if i can if i can interrupt just once i think mr mckee wanted to add something to that okay mr mckee his hand is raised are you muted mr mckee if he is he's not going
to be able to tell you no but if he could hear me maybe he would remind him to unuse [Music] yeah it doesn't look like he's able to unmute at this point he must have an old copy of the version i do know that uh within the last week um mr mckee i worked with mr mckee to put up some items on auction auction items off i did put a link on our website for that site so if you wanted to you can go to the business office um and look at those items i'm assuming that's probably what he wanted to talk about in the past anything worth purchasing offered as a sealed bid auction with a certain date that had to be in they opened i bought a leg that way one year from
the shop and that's typically how i don't know how if that policy has changed or not or if our procedures change but i know that in the past we have sold items that were worth selling thank you so in general the best thing to do would just be to say if somebody has a question about something specific that's being discarded or um anything like that would be to call the business or business office or dr robert the administration office thank you okay any other discussion on this list of textbooks all those in favor say aye aye opposed abstentions motion carries i need an emotion wait yes to approve permission to dispose of old file cabinets miscellaneous tables and chairs etc according to the terms and conditions of the mcguffey school district policy number 706.1 disposal
