001yes [Music] okay we are back from executive session at 10 08 p.m where we discussed contracts and personnel okay i need a motion to approve the memorandum of understanding regarding health insurance between mcguffey school district and mcguffy custodial food service transportation esp at bses nea mcguffey education support professionals association as presented second any questions or discussion all those in favor say aye aye my post extensions okay one extension motion carries i need a motion to approve the memoranding of understanding regarding esp dress code between the mcguffey school district and the mcguffey education support professionals association as presented second any questions or discussion all those in favor say aye aye post extensions motion carries need a motion to approve the establishment of an additional cheerleading assistant coach position second any discussion or questions yes um well

002he already had asked so um i thought it was after we were listening okay go ahead mr dalton good the reason so i guess my history here in 2012 we didn't have truly either here prior to my arrival and we re-established cheerleading and we barely had enough girls for a middle school team at varsity team and through the diligence of not just the current president cathy allison's prior tour um we've built up a program for 48 year olds 24 is an awful lot [Music] so i mean i think there's a lot of things there but i mean in sports where our participation we've had some problems with female participation in various sports this is like a shining star right now and i think to deny 24 girls of opportunity it is i think you'd do

003in service it would also handle some title nine issues um we don't support the female teams the way we support the male teams you know and i think it would be an opportunity to do that in a better way as far as um cheering out of pets is what i'm saying not they have equal opportunities but um i'm just saying i think it's a i think it's a well worth i mean 24 girls for a seat coaches salary which i think that's step one i think someone asked that question earlier i think it's 5600 and then coach my understanding is that um as far as uniforms and stuff they would actually be donated from the varsity just got we got lucky and then we timed it right in that they're in the uniform cycle this

004year the current uniforms are in good shape and then they're going to have to figure a way they're going to have to start to budget some of their yearly money into how they want to do that like some schools have a pep squad some schools do it in different ways our coach is just gonna have to take some time and figure out what works best and there is a cheerleading boosters organization to help with some of that and then be able to get corporate support um also but yeah and then and the junior varsity cheerleaders would not travel together the varsity cheerleaders honestly right now with five varsity football games and a big playoff game so that's kind of going by the wayside everywhere so great maybe we would give them one event if it

005worked out well maybe they have one event like there was a big girls basketball game on the road and that's that was where they were designated to do girls basketball that might be their one event but i don't think it would be but we wouldn't have an extra transportation cost for every right anything else from anybody else [Music] so currently we have a middle school uh program varsity assistant but honestly they split once south so so we're getting two for one right now so i mean now our middle schools are 24. our jv's are like at 20 to 24 in our marshall i will tell you i've gone back and forth on this it's not a budgeted item um and you know we're looking at a budget that we're looking at next next month um

006but i i i've said a thousand times and i'll continue to say i'm all about providing opportunities for children and this is an opportunity for them to be involved where they may not have an opportunity somewhere else you know so that's just kind of my thinking mr dalton would you say this is a blip or do we see this down the road i think what happened honestly over simplify it when we combine all the youth football teams now they're one big cheering end to be with like 40 or 50 girls and they just stay right oh yeah and i don't think it's i don't think it's see-saw as much anymore there's always 10 or 12 girls in class that want to be cheerleaders and say like we don't even have seasonal cheerleaders anymore for the

007most part would you say that's right mr kern all those girls will cheer most seasons maybe 40 to have winner cheerleaders right and falters we only had three freshman girls who made varsity or made the diversity team i don't have that document in front of me but well i can tell you i'm pretty sure it's only like six or seven other classrooms out of the 24 hours so these girls don't participate you may lose them for the remainder of their high school career if you were doing it right it would be more difficult for a ninth grader to make it than it would be for a junior if she had done it for three years if you were running for them [Music] and i think um i'll piggyback on what coach dalton said um you're

008giving 24 students something to do uh instead of sending them home with nothing to do just don't be as talented just like just on a side note one of our graduating students right now is going to west liberty with a scholarship for cheerleading so there's that too mr dalton does our cheerleaders do competition um so that's what they have to decide now so cheerleading is a little unusual and that the size of your roster determines what level you're at so if you carry 24 girls you're literally going to cheer against north valley in baltimore so their decision would have to be to to lessen the amount of the actual cheerleading team so they could have 12 girls go and be single a and state competition then you clearly go and compete in like trinity as

009a tournament or something but to go to the whitfield they have to make a decision that only to really compete that really only 12 or 14 girls can go because when you're competing against north allegheny or baldwin or someone like that it's different but do they currently do that do they currently come out they're not if they're competitive but they are a competitive team but they're not in with the environment correct any other questions or discussions so would this make three full-time coaching or two so we would have how many people and how many would we be paying i would say that you're only adding one more but i'm not sure of that i'm not sure that you know i'm not 100 sure that that's not the direction she wants to go but we're tonight

010approving a position right so basically we approve as far as what the board is correct we are we are approving the salary for one position okay any other questions or discussion all those in favor say aye aye opposed abstentions motion carries i need a motion to approve heather bradberry for placement on the 2021 2022 and 2022 2023 agave substitute para educator list pending receipt of all clearances and required documents second questions discussion all those in favor say aye aye opposed abstentions mission carries i need a motion to approve ms taylor boone and ms shannon stafford for placement on the 2021 2022 and 2023 mcguffey school district substitute teacher list pending receipt of all required documents questions all those in favor say aye opposed extensions motion carries you need a motion to approve the department grade

011level chair persons for the term july 1st 2022 to june 30th 2023 as presented per the terms and conditions of the mea agreement july 1 2022 to june 30th 2027. exactly any discussion the names are all there so all those in favor say aye opposed extensions motion carries i need a motion to approve the job description for the school social worker as submitted so moved second doctor over so the uh the job description uh that you're approving tonight is for a position that does exist has existed for years as we've been updating our files going from folders to uh more of a digital style we came across that the school social worker who we recently filmed with in-house did not exist as far as we could find a board approval so i'm asking tonight for

012the position exists that you would approve this position and i would tell you if you come across any others in the future that may also be coming across but to be clear this is a position that we've had in the district for several years there's a person working in this position this is just kind of clear up our paperwork okay any other discussion all those in favor say aye aye opposed extensions motion carries need a motion to approve mrs um renee cabruzi and mr john leisure agriculture teachers to attend and shepherd members of the mcguffey ffa to the pennsylvania ffa state convention and activities week on july 7th through 9th 2022 in state college pennsylvania at an approximate cost of 950 so moved second any questions or discussion so that was for the transportation so

013what about uh all the other expenses recovered by the ssa is typically the case i was just worrying about like the logic they normally take care of they do a great job with that and i'm just excited that they're having it this year and that they get to go any other questions discussion always in favor say aye aye opposed extensions abstain motion carries i need a motion to approve the two-year contract with novacare rehabilitation to provide athletic training services for the 2022 2023 and 2023-2024 school years pending review and approval by the district solicitor so second i said a question about the um it says the current five and then currency one so was it a five year or one year contract five one year contracts it's a typo i think it's a one-year-old yeah

014this would be a two-year contract and if you look at that you're talking six thousand dollars for the first full year and another 2000 for the second school year there was a question about what these services what services are included for this cost does anyone have any answer to that i mean i i can i can speak to what they provide for our student athletes again they they are there for competitions uh anything that would involve uh both pre and post uh if there's an injury to a student athlete they're there to provide support for those type of things so yeah it's it's not alex's it's like what alex does yeah sounds good yeah that came up before i do have a question madam president if you open the attachment and it has a two-year

015contract and the cost next to it yeah that's that's an increase that's not the price of the contract so the 6 000 in the 2000s an actual increase it's not actually what we're paying correct that's right right because what we're paying am i allowed to announce what we're paying it's 42 000 for the first year 44 000 for year two okay right that's just the addition the represents the additional so we'll make those changes on the reward agenda correct to show 42. thank you for pointing that out thank you and they are here every day that was a question well for even gym class i think they're contracted for at least 40 hours is that correct doctor over six days a week 40 hours i believe i'd have to look i don't have the contract

016in front of me but with the baseball team she travels to them they do come i have contracted with nova before they come to all athletic events they're guaranteed to have one trainer at every event um and then sometimes if they overlap they have someone that goes to away games or the one they missed that's a really good rate for their services yes i just wanted to make sure that because that question was asked so thank you for answering that question any other comments or discussion all those in favor say aye aye opposed abstentions motion carries made a motion to approve a one-year portrait and yearbook agreement for joe walker elementary school with life touch national school studios incorporated for the 2022-2023 school year as presented i just want to remark there is no cost

017to the district for this any other questions or discussion all those in favor say aye aye opposed abstentions motion carries need a motion to approve the independent contractor agreement between the caring mission home care lp and mcguffey school district for the 2022-2023 school year which provides for a health office assistant in special education related services so moved wasn't sure what we were doing there discussion someone had asked earlier and this is like the assistant nurse that helps with the whenever they have need someone well in fact this part of this responsibility again we have two full-time nurses um typically uh debbie butterfield goes in between claysville and joe walker when she's at claysville this person will fill it at joe walker and vice versa so that's that's we're getting as and we're talking about lpns

018and rns so there will be somebody at both elementary schools all the time all the time okay yeah and just is more affordable than having a district employee because it says seven and a half hours at 43 per hour i think some of that relates to especially when you talk about special education related services they may not be the same every year um so for example i don't know we have a student at a particular school who has um diabetic needs you may not have that the next year or you may like so it changes well and i would just say to the contractor itself this is something that we've had for for multiple years i did not look to see could this be something that we can do in-house i just think it's important

019that we make sure that we have a nurse at each school every day and maybe we want to look at in the future like moving forward would it make more sense to have them in-house i don't know did i sitting here tonight if we don't approve this we're going to end up with no medical professionals at buildings correct oh that's for next year yes but that's what i'm saying [Music] next month there'll be someone there to the end of this school year right there is currently someone yes right yeah but we're not going to be able to make that decision about in-house or not by the time we're looking at budgeting next month and if we're not budgeting for it how do we make it before we had this because my daughter my daughter-in-law filled

020that position you have to be a nurse they have it's just like they're bringing you in as extra help you still work in the district you're part of the district but if the if the nurse has got somebody uh joe walker and they go there somebody has to be here to cover they're still under the direction of the school numbers they still take whenever they're wherever they're they're at they still have that direction right our full time i just think when we start mr leisure if we're talking about looking at making a decision as to whether it would be cheaper to do to hire two employees full-time right to do this instead of contracting for these services i don't know that that's a decision we can make this budget cycle we are looking at approving

021a budget next month we've not done the research there's no way we would know how much to budget or if we're going to budget money but i do think maybe for next year the next budget maybe it's something we should look at yeah is my thinking anybody else these are 60 000 she would be paid as a step one teacher she's not a certified school nurse she's in the bargaining union yeah yeah and you can have it if she's an rn in an album you can hire her as like an aide and not be a part of that right but this contract says not to exceed two oh no it says not to exceed 2 80 hours so that's both of them i doubt we could hire a nurse for that price what's better i

022don't think so um [Music] i will just again say i think it's a great topic of conversation for maybe the next budget cycle that we are looking like we need to pass a budget next month so i don't know that that's something we can consider at this point lynn just texted me this um rn lpn is paid they're ready to learn grant and has been using years i know there's something about the money we're not paying all this money if they get subsidized from somewhere it's the ready can that for future consideration could that grant be used to hire somebody to be in-house i don't think i i would assume yes but i have to research thinking down the road right something we could look at maybe later right any other questions or discussion all

023those in favor say aye aye opposed extensions motion carries i need a motion to approve the software maintenance agreement renewal between harris school solutions and mcguffey school district at a hundred cost of 18 dollars and fifty cents for the financial software systems for the period july 1st 2022 through june 30th 2023 an increase of 891.63 or 5 as presented so moved i know this came up as a question about the cost um i do know and perhaps dr erberg you can speak to this more but i do know they do vet the cost and they look at who offers what and who's offering the best rate i will tell you having worked in education for 30 years when you start talking about software maintenance i looked at that price and went wow that's really not

024that bad because it can get very costly if you talk to the folks that use uh the system um they will tell you that it's it's their lifeblood and um but again one of the things that uh you're smiling at me i'll speak over here how dare you smile uh no no no no because laura and i have talked about this you know we are constantly looking at systems i i constantly have vendors reaching out to me to have summer systems and and i take that to mike and i take that to lore i really i take that whoever is using that system to say let's take a look at this doesn't hurt but this i know is a system that's really embedded in our district different services yeah it's big any other questions or

025discussion all those in favor say aye aye opposed the sentience motion carries need a motion to approve the professional software for nurses inc at a cost of three thousand two hundred and six dollars sixteen dollars and fifty cents for the 2022-2023 school year as presented questions or discussions oh sorry i should probably let you second first i'm going to speed ahead uh any just questions or discussion all those in favor say aye opposed abstentions mission in carries motion to approve the pennsylvania school board association membership renewal in the amount of thirteen thousand five hundred and twenty five dollars and nine cents which is an increase of 347.67 less than three percent okay i have um a question last year i remember another board member asking what we benefit from this and and uh we did

026look at that and i don't that's a lot of money and we got to cut something somewhere i think that we could actually benefit by maybe keeping the component for the continuing education because we need that the directors need to have that laundry but we really i think that's a lot i think i would really like to see us table this and look at at that option i will say i've had some concerns something yeah psba has become increasingly um more political in in furthering specific agendas um and less as a guide for schools and quite frankly in agendas that aren't in keeping with our core values as a district um i think it's definitely something we could look at discussing like what is it that is beneficial and what is it that is not

027thirteen thousand five hundred twenty five dollars and nine cents um the increase is almost three hundred fifty dollars i get prices are rising for everything um i just don't know finalization that i think doesn't always isn't always in line with our core values as a district so will i make a motion to table our second that motion i think he did a lousy job when we went through the interview process of our superintendent i did too i actually think those were the coldest interviews that i have ever participated in my entire life and i told the individual when he wasn't really happy with him i did too uh so i mean i really think we it's not a reflection on who we got from the process just to be clear yeah do you use this

028in any way i i do from time to time because um what i what i receive is exactly what you receive and oftentimes every day they give an update on what's happening legislatively in harrisburg and those that um actually carry over oftentimes in our discussions with the super tense form for the tri-county area so maybe i could be using it more but certainly from time to time there's something like oh okay so it brings it to my attention that i don't have to search for it brings it you know but at the same time there are other avenues by which we could get that i would just just remember there is some of it is a free component i mean it's a free website you can't we don't have to be a member to see

029everything you can see some updates well right now there is a motion and a second on the floor to table it right okay so let's deal with that all those in favor of tabling it say hi no i think you're supposed to deal with it aren't you yeah let's just dispose of that crap okay so there is yes thank you so there is one area that quarterly that that we do benefit from and that's uh any state policy updates uh oftentimes we share that with you it comes first from them so that is something that really is a tremendous benefit we've benefited from for many years having that quarterly saying hey here's some actions are happening at state level and they make us aware of it and so that would be yes but at the

030same time you can kind of a la carte what services you might want but we have a motion on the table to our emotional floor to table it and we need to deal with that motion before we do anything else um so all those in favor of tabling this renew membership renew say aye aye roll call please i didn't hear that mr harden yes this is the table to table mr kern yes mr laser yes miss live heart yes mr ross yes miss shingle yes mr venetta yes miss jackson yes so the motion has carried two tablets madam president before we move on what i would like to discuss is i think there's different levels of packages that we can get and if you could come back with a recommendation yeah i think the board

031needs the one for their training unless we can get that somewhere else and whatever the administration needs and uses the invoice is on there no it doesn't break down it does i will tell you though from my perspective i liked the versatility of the psb i offer because i could do it at my convenience instead of having to go to a particular place at a particular time when i may be working so it could be another website yeah yeah i'm just saying we can look at other avenues but that is one feature that i needed in fact i'm still taking courses from there um to get all of my badges yeah but anyway uh so yes i agree with you if you could bring back to us different options yeah thank you okay we're ready

032to move on then anyone else [Music] need a motion to approve the annual renewal license agreement between mcguffey school district and opec orbit software incorporated at a cost of six 3076. from july first twenty twenty one to june thirtieth twenty twenty two so move second talk about from july first twenty twenty one to june thirtieth twenty twenty two hurry up and approve this should that be july 1st 2022 to june 30th 2023 great is that correct yes it's july 1st 2022 effective date okay just to be clear i'm going to reread that i need a motion to approve the annual renewal license agreement between mcguffey school district and orbit software incorporated at a cost of three thousand dollars seventy six dollars from july 1st 2022 to june 30th 2023 so move second and this is

033the transportation software just so that we're clear yes they manage the bus routes the stops yeah all of that any questions or discussion [Music] all those in favor say hi to approve the deed of easement requested by south franklin township i make a motion a table i second i don't know which one this is the this is being requested by south franklin township to enable the district to hook up to public sewage and abandon its on-lot treatment facility the total square footage for the permanent easements are 600 square feet we have a motion and a second on the floor to table all those in favor of tablings say aye aye opposed abstentions motion carries to table list mr leisure do you have something i just like to better understand where that easement is going to

034be [Music] i don't i can't tell very much from that i'm just like mr mckee's input basically so if mr mckee could be ready to show up next month as to what exactly this entails because if you're looking at building projects and stuff that may create a problem in the future if there's an easement well it's from the diagram it's it's the further toward town in an area where i don't think we're utilizing it anyway that's a low lane area they're in the setbacks and there's no there's no line actually except for the stop being put on the district's property so there's no main line running on the district that was my question yeah no main line is just the stop the connect but if we are going to ask mr mckee to do a

035presentation committee meeting next month i think [Laughter] this is supposed to be the second phase too and they're still on the first phase haven't even started a fighting mistake okay you mean put it in the treatment place yeah this is the second phase of that that no it goes as far as steel i need a motion to approve the purchase of the halo version 2.5 smart sensors from latimus communications incorporated in the amount of four thousand thirty five dollars so moved so halo i'm going to read this for those of us who don't know is a key component in the solution to providing a low risk environment by monitoring carbon dioxide particulate concentrations humidity humidity volatile organic compounds nitrogen dioxide in the air just so that we're clear on what that is yes did we

036have a first and a second on this yes yes okay so we're good to discuss sorry sensors i really can't answer that i believe it is um i believe the installation cost is in and labor completed with the above specifications if you look under on i'm looking at the actual um invoice invoice right under the boxed item it says vladimir's proposed to furnish material and labor completed with the above specifications labor repair service or installation performed above is guaranteed for 30 days all parts are listed or all parts listed are covered under separate limited warranty with manufacturer yada yada so i would say [Music] chances are we probably got it and we're updating them the sensor no we do not have these we don't have these sensors and it clearly says any deviation involving extra

037costs will be executed only upon written orders so they couldn't put something extra on without coming from another bill on the next in the next sentence it says labor to be built on a time and material basis so i think that's for the extra charge i took that as following up so that sentence actually says any of the deviation involving extra cross will be executed only upon written orders and would become an extra charge over and above the estimate i took that the next sentence to go with that so the labor to be to be billed on time and material basis for the extra charges upon written order was how i took that is that not correct on the agenda the last sentence it says these devices will be paid for through the 2019 bond

038issue and no new monies will be required right i would assume mr mckee is the one who made this recommendation yes yes because i'm familiar with these devices and i just bought six of them for a little bit more than that price so um that's why i was asking it to secure the installation because it's just a device then it says it includes the labor completed with the above specifications i would take that to mean installation any other questions or discussion all those in favor say aye aye opposed abstentions motion need a carries to approve the door access updates to be completed by latimus communications incorporated at a cost of thirty three thousand five hundred and thirty five dollars and seventy five cents so moved second discussion questions do you know what the software is

039now software the software for the um that we're using and there's no support for that correct and then what did this what kind of software did you oh did it say it says access control manager security management software so in one job an hour any other questions or discussion all those in favor say aye aye opposed extensions motion carries i need a motion to approve trip shell consulting services to provide e-rate category 3 services at a cost of 3 500. [Music] any questions or discussion it's the same thing we've been doing since 2005 i just we got really slow movement on emotions i i was waiting for some kind of like big concern no questions or concerns on this okay all those in favor say aye aye opposed need a motion to approve the 2021-2022

040transportation contract with theresa quatoski i believe as submitted any discussion so this is for her to drive herself drive her yes okay yeah next the next two okay well it's true right now this is um for the remainder of this year [Music] [Applause] oh it says may 19th yeah so this is for the rest of this year though the one i'm looking at says transportation august 30th 2021 to june 30th 2012 i think we were just updating it did we did she had did have that contract we're updating the contract because the irs rate changed on january 1st and her old contract didn't reflect that okay so this contract will and will only carry her till the end of the year and then if she's driving again next year she'll be contracted by the irs

041so we as a board had approved this in the past we are just updating the contract to be in keeping with the federal mileage rate is that correct yes that's the case for both of these yes no no the other one okay we'll wait let's deal with the other one let's do this one first okay so all of those in favor say aye opposed abstentions motion carries okay i need a motion to approve the 2021-2022 transportation contract with kristin miller as submitted now this one was different well i need a second before we can discuss okay now we've got a second now we can discuss mr wilson this one is new this one is new just started yes april 4th so from april 4th through the remainder of the june 30th 2022 that's when it

042terminates correct just out of curiosity the other one didn't say the federal mileage rate that said 15 to 25 cents in the first contract that it was approved back in fall yes so we rewarded it so when that irs rate changes every january first and the contract will change too with a federal mileage rate correct okay so back to this one this is the new one any questions or discussion this is from april which is the fourth through the remainder of the year all those in favor say aye aye opposed abstentions motion carries i need a motion to approve a payment to anderson price for invoice data april 30th 2022 and the amount of 3665 dollars is submitted any discussion all those in favor say aye i proposed abstentions emotions carry motion carries okay use

043of facilities for the month of april um just the community groups were girl scouts alumni foundation and pretty much there is the budget expenditure report for the month of april the cafeteria report for the months of march and april solicitors report the solicitor has no report modern president thank you the western area career and technology center report mr haynes is not with us tonight anyone have anything what is it i know they're having a graduation tonight they had them like three days uh pennsylvania school board association report missus i do i do have a couple of things i'll be quick but uh there were at the end of last month there were 150 public schools that went forward was to ask for the mandate relief of the joint advocacy that was hosted by the psba

044that was to give them more money for the coveted loss they're saying without giving us enough without giving the schools enough of a budget funding that's putting a stress on every school's budget and this is something that's moving forward they that group has brought this to their attention and they are looking to see if they can increase the state funding now we don't know where it'll go but it is something that they're looking at um the other thing and you you probably already know this but they did pass um the new information that an administrator would be able to grant a waiver of requirements for graduation um not looking at the keystones and just looking and you probably already know that but that's a reminder for everybody circumstances all of their they have moved covet

04519 into the extenuating circumstances for the nocti for the keystones for all assessments and they want that to actually move forward to the years 24 and 25. they want to keep covet 19 as an extenuating circumstance for those years as well because the kids now will be older then and they're still reflecting these problems that's really the only thing i have those were the two big things i hope that made sense it is thank you after nine o'clock i'm talking sideways at this point we will take public participation on non-agenda items and victoria jordan buffalo township um this is jordan i'm gonna pull the mic down thank you mr leisure did saying the public voices is obvious at every meeting he proved it again tonight i tried to extend the hall of fame to you

046at the march meeting and instead of accepting it you rolled your eyes at me and spoke under your breath to listener regarding my comments to her you need to get used to my voice because i'm not going anywhere instead of fighting the public maybe you should become a part of the solution i'd like to ask your fellow board members to start holding you accountable when you treat the taxpayers of this community as poorly as you did mr ross we constantly state we have professionals to make these decisions and that amounts to our voices our value i asked you all if you read the 67 pages of the guidance plan and your statement made it clear you did not you all ran and were elected to represent us and with that comes great responsibilities since we

047are talking about the care of our children a huge part of that is taking the time and thoroughly reviewing everything set before you for a vote it's not acceptable to parents for you to just blindly sign off on items because paid professionals put it together this is not an attack on our teachers i know there are great teachers here but they need to know there are checks and balances and that they will be held accountable when needed we want our values and voices acknowledged and respected by the board if we have concerns you should too we are a rural community and the majority of us are raising our children to respect our country be god-fearing productive citizens and be proud of who they are no matter the color of their skin i moved back here

048because that's what our district used to represent and that's what i want my grandchildren exposed to we've lost our way for too many years and we sold out our values for the almighty government funding and all the streams attached to those funds so that's opened our eyes to our complacency and we are now begging for changes to move us back to the core values that we all value so much it's not the teachers of the school's counselor's place to make decisions as to what is age appropriate or morally sound for my grandchildren or any other child in our district it's our responsibility as parents to expose our children to things we deem age appropriate not yours or anyone else's associated with the district please i'm begging you all let's work together to bring back the

049values and standards that once made us great stop selling out our children and parents rights by not taking the time to reflect on what's being presented for approval if you had taken the time to review the research and research this plan as much as myself and even more so this is my niece where i have you'd be disturbed by where your vote could lead and what our children socially be exposed to the state does not know what's best for our children nor does paid professionals the parents and guardians do so stop silencing our voices i need to say that each and every one of you are responsible for the things our children are being exposed to when they are within these full doors are you paying attention to the reports that have come out from

050on the stage and do you know students are are being exposed to crt in classrooms every day including classes like math by paid professionals are you aware that recently what recently happened at jefferson ward in school when a first grade teacher showed a video call when aiden became a brother which led to a discussion about transgenderism and how sometimes mommy and daddy made mistakes when choosing whether their baby is a boy or a girl clearly this teacher was a paid professional this is this there is no advance notice there was no advance notice to parents and children were disturbed by this and they shared it with their parents when you allow teachers to utilize materials from approved sources like common sense education without knowing the content or the standards of the mission on those sites

051you are potentially exposing our children to materials that value violate our standards you hold a huge responsibility to the children and the parents of this district and if you're not willing to be diligent and put in the research before voting on critical issues then you should step aside for those like no meat fry who's willing to thank you thank you and to be clear i did give mrs jordan a little bit more time because she does have breathing difficulty and i could tell she was struggling with that monique fry [Music] good evening monique fry morris township um just since i have it all typed up already we did discuss it a little bit earlier but in regards to the math at mcguffy i remember last year the boar board voted on a resolution banning the

052critical race theory in 1619 project in mcguffey considering the current plan to adopt the new math curriculum which we did into mcguffy that may or may not contain critical race theory in the textbooks i think it will be important to not only make that resolution public information as i was unable to find it on the mcguffy website like i was able to last year so i don't i don't know what happened with it but it's no longer available to the public um well as make it a policy in magathi i have spoken to administration about what happens when a teacher actively and even purposely teaches something that ought not to be taught mcgathey and the answer is just that it's circumstantial i do understand the need to make sure that as a district administration ensures

053to rule just and fair with repercussions in response to bad behavior from staff and teachers however as a parent i think mcguffy needs policy that outlines the teachers and staff's members expectations and rules they are not to break i want to see rules that ought not to be broken just like my child has i want to see what happens when a teacher or staff member breaks that role just like my child has in regards to my statement last month about second step actively supporting aclu in fighting the child online protection act i although i appreciate dr gottsrn's response advising the specific 8th grade lesson is not being taught here at mcgathey and i'm very thankful for that i am still concerned about where my tax dollars are being spent i do not want my tax

054dollars going to an organization like second step that is actively fighting to strip my child protections and strip our students parents of their fundamental parental rights i'm asking mcguffey to replace second step curriculum with a curriculum that is wholesome and ethical and valuable without a political agenda i have been doing a lot of research on this topic and i have found a curriculum called real essentials this curriculum offers relationship skills from grades 4 through 12 and does not contain any agendas like trans theory or critical race theory i have reviewed the sample lessons for all of the curriculum available and feel it is a perfect fit here at mcguffy there is an opportunity to apply for a grant for this curriculum as well the online resources um the curriculum for the starting point which is

055the fourth through eighth graders package is 399. for full access to online resources and it includes classroom materials training videos research and educator resources all of the other curriculum is also 399 dollars not really knowing what all is needed to be known to consider this i ask that you all review this curriculum and hopefully adopt it into mcguffy to replace second step and any other unvetted work material used in mcguffy for social emotional learning i will put together an email with all of the information i have regarding this curriculum and send it to you all so you have that information easily accessible to you in response to mrs shingle's comment about studying with our children we would be able to do so better if our kids either brought work home with them or there was

056a parent portal with all the work our students are doing in class google classroom is a great tool i love that actually it's really really easy to access and manage throughout but it's only a student portal so to speak now i just share access with my daughter but it would be very helpful and convenient for parents of mcguffey to have a parental access to that as well as the students having their access to it especially since all school districts are moving more towards virtual lessons and material and content but i would like for mcguffy to consider a parental access i guess you could call it to the google classroom not just the student's access and that is all so thank you and just as a reminder mrs fry i did say that we were going

057to put the discussion of the crt 1619 project ban and or policy on next month's agenda president's last in person is chrissy florin hey everybody chrissy florian eastfield you missed me last week or last month i was sick um with no surprise i second every word that vicky and me monique stated we are tired of the negativity you need to take your job more seriously into the highest of seriousness please it matters to me to my children to their future i'm going to start with dress code here in mcguffy there is no policy there's no policing or modern monitoring of these girls wearing short shorts from what i hear i've heard complaints about gym class and how um i've been asked mom how are these girls getting away with wearing such short shorts during gym

058class [Music] is that a particular building issue or are you talking in general i think just in general from middle school middle school yeah yeah um do you have a standard policy i know when i was in gym class i had certain shorts we all had the same pair of shorts we had to change into and wear so i don't know where or when you guys have steered away from that but um i think that the way things are in our world right now i mean of course girls try to keep up with um just being the in crowd and and looking cute and attractive i don't think that's necessary for gym class or even in school i think that the policy for the shorts should be um held at a higher standard these girls

059need to have more modesty and um i mean i know for myself i would never i would have had my chest show sometimes but i'm more modest now as an older woman anyways um but yeah i think that that's something that should be considered as the dress code policy may not be being um followed like it should another consideration is breakfast and lunch the children eat here i know that it's not very healthy or filling my children complain we do have food at home that they could eat i don't understand why they don't but they don't so i mean it's maybe it's early because you know sometimes they don't you usually eat till like eight or nine sometimes in the morning but anyways um they complain that it's not healthy and it's not filling and

060i believe that corners should not be cut when it comes to our children's nutrition some children go home to barely nothing and sometimes this is the best that they get all day we do know that living in a school where there are some parents children your parents make a lot of money and there's a lot a lot of kids who go home to nothing so i think that in general to be better in our entire nation i think that we should focus on what we're feeding these kids at school i mean if you're gonna look at budget and drop certain things i think that some of that money should go to their nutrition because we all know that if they eat healthier they pay attention better they do better in school so that's one of

061my things there also cell phones in school i believe uh when my daughter had a situation it has been handled but the girls were taking pictures of her on the school bus literally just sit jumping in her seat beside her and taking a selfie with her where's that picture at where did that picture go why are these girls taking pictures of my daughter um that's a version of her privacy and i did and it was on the bus on the property so i think that there's something that needs to be done with the cell phones i know that kids are hiding behind their chromebooks and playing with their cell phones in class some teachers turn a blind eye to it i've been told some teachers turn a blind eye to it um just yeah pretty

062much i think that there needs to be better rules and regulations on the cell phones in schools there are offices with administration in the office for a reason for these children if there's a situation or the nurse calls the mother if they're sick or if there's another situation the people in the office call the parents or guardian when necessary these kids don't need to be having these cell phones in their pockets all day long playing at their leisure we know they have the internet at their hands and who knows what they're looking at um years ago when hayden was younger he told me about children in the back of the bus looking at porn showing little girls this is what i would like you to do to me so i think that that needs brought

063up you guys need to be aware that that does happen and i don't want it happening so thank you thank you hey mr wilson anyone online there is no one in attendance this evening so at this time i would entertain a motion to adjourn all those in favor say aye opposed sentience motion carries meeting a jerk
