all right we ready to go good evening everyone welcome to tonight's reorg meeting we're going to start off with a pledge Allegiance please Al to flag of the United States of America stand indice just uh before we get started Mrs St just want to check to see if Dr G is with us I'm here thank you Dr G thank you Dr G we're going to have a roll call so Mr scroy do you do that good evening everyone roll call vote to determine who is present Miss Wesley present Mr R Mr McBain present Mrs romage present Mr casa present Dr G present Mr Fusco present and Mrs stall present so we have uh seven board members present this evening thank you Mr scroy moving on to the audience of citizens um if there's anyone who

would like to make public comment tonight I'm just going to read off the statement and then we can take audience of citizens comments this meeting is being videotaped for Community cable channels and stream live individuals attending this meeting and intending to speak to the board should be aware that they are being videotaped in order to meet the requirements of Pennsylvania Sunshine Law it is necessary to record the names of all citizens who speak to the board to Ure compliance with this requirement it is essential that those planning to address the board State their name and municipality members of the audience are asked to limit their questions and comments to 3 minutes as a reminder the audience of citizens portion of the meeting is designed for residents and taxpayers of the district to provide comment and

feedback on matters which are or may come before the board it is not designed for debate or discussion with the board when appropriate individual School Board directors may choose to respond to public comments that have been made once the audience of citizens period has concluded or request that a member of the administration follow up with the speakers after the meeting and this is in reference to policy board board policy 903 so with that if anyone would like to make public comment at this time now is your time to do so good evening Mr ler uh Jason lir Lansdale um it was back in margin 21 I asked you guys what equity and education meant and you guys passed an equity policy and I brought up the fact that this looked a lot like critical race

Theory to me and there's a lot of denials that was the case but I said that the the tenants are the same and what would happen is you would reduce standards in education and it would show just like they have done out on the west coast and some in the east coast there's been a lot of that and the education standards have fallen precipitously in those areas and now we're following suit and I say this and I'm not I'm not just making this information up as as sometimes the some of the uh board members like to pretend but when you go look at the department of education's pssa scor Bing since your Equity policy pen Brooks uh basic and below so there's four categories Advanced proficient basic and Below basic you're striving for proficient or

better it is increased by 33% basic and Below basic in math it's 20% at Penbrook pendale it's 62% increase in the number of kids in basic or below basic math it's 21% at pendale Penfield 51% for English 31% for math so my question is who's taking responsibility on this board for this I mean this is an educational institution this is public education you're supposed to be becoming brighter and more prepared for the world yet we have more and more kids that are below basic proficiency or basic proficiency who's taking responsibility for this and what else is happening what what about the violence in the middle schools I brought a little chart here so people could see and I'm not making this up either this is also on the pa uh Department of Education website and

what you can see here is that the violence and not violence related to drug and alcohol property weapons we're talking about violence among students is five times the county average at Penbrook or pendale I'm sorry it's three and a half times the a uh at at pen field and three times at pen Brook again who's taking responsibility for this you guys do all your committee meetings you but this is never addressed when do you when do you look at what's happening and say you know what maybe we made a big bad call with this and we need to change direction because what you're doing is a disservice to these kids by not addressing the needs of of higher education keeping them the standards and get and the kids who get in trouble they need to

be suspended that's what needs to happen who's going to take responsibility I want that question answered please thank you thank you Mr ler is there anyone else who would like to make public comment at this time okay if there's no further public comment we're going to move on to the next section of our agenda which is the election of a temporary president do I have a motion for um temporary president please so moved uh who are you nominating sorry so you can nomin um I nominate Jonathan Casa do I have a second second thank you are there any further nominations so now I'm going to close the nominations and take a motion on that right Mr scy you should okay close nominations can I have a motion have a motion to close the nominations please
