[Music] good evening everyone welcome to tonight's action meeting just a reminder that because we're still in high transmission here that there is a required mass policy in north penn so if you do not have a mask on please put one on thank you okay we're going to start off the meeting with a pledge of allegiance please okay we're going to start off the evening now with some recognitions and proclamations the north penn marching nights recognition is going to be with mr joseph santaniello the north penn high school director of fans [Applause] i don't i'm not sure if it's on i can't hello good evening good evening dr dietrich and school board it is a pleasure to be here tonight to celebrate our north penn marching nights my name is joe santaniello and i'm the band

director here at north penn high school and i'm honored to be able to introduce to everyone our amazing band members this evening we are here to celebrate the successes of the 2021 marching night season this year our marching nights were hugely successful and they were named the pennsylvania state mid-atlantic regional and national u.s bands champions in the group four open class and that's why we're here to celebrate them today let's give them a big round of applause [Applause] as these students and their parents probably know all too well i can tend to be a little bit loquacious but mr haddad my assistant director has warned me that if i speak too long he's going to pull the drumline kids out of the meeting and take them back to drumline practice so i'm going to try

to be brief but i do think i should take this opportunity of public comment to thank a lot of people marching band is an activity that requires a tremendous amount of community support and here in north penn we do it better than anybody else this community rallies behind these kids and rallies behind this marching band like nowhere else i've ever seen and i really think it's important to thank some of those people that make this possible i want to start by thanking our north penn marching knights parents the north penn music aides they are absolutely phenomenal the marching nights could not even possibly exist without their support their tireless volunteerism their amazing ability to raise funds and they're cheering us on in the stands and pushing these kids through a really really challenging season year

after year and being there to support us so i'd like to thank the music aides all the parents of all these students please give them a round of applause [Applause] i would like to thank all of the teachers on the marching night staff my assistant director mr sean haddad and my amazing team of teachers there are over 20 adults that work with the marching knights and they are worth more than i could ever possibly try to pay them they give out their tireless effort and really honestly a ton of love to these students so i really want to take an opportunity to thank the many many teachers that give up their time to be part of this marching ice family let's thank them please i want to thank a few people here at north penn

high school that make this possible we have an amazing team here first i need to thank mrs patty sell mrs cell is one of those people who is just phenomenally good at their job and she takes such good care of us here at the high school nothing happens at north penn high school without patty sell and so i want to make sure i recognize her tonight and all the support that she gives to our marching band mr toby hilbert is also phenomenal he's another one of those people that will just drop anything to support you and help you and he bails me out of all kinds of situations all the time so i'm very thankful to toby and the custodial staff here at the high school i want to thank mr walsh our athletic director

who frankly did an incredible job in his first year as athletic director and i always always always felt supported and these kids always felt supported by our athletic director this year and i really thank him and i'm excited to continue working with him in the years to come and i want to thank our principal mr p nicholson who does an amazing job again and one of those people that doesn't just say that he supports you but it's evident in his actions day after day month after month year after year mr nicholson loves the marching band and it's very evident so thank our north penn team here at the high school that supports these kids and last i want to thank the members of the school board and upper administration dr dietrich and dr bauer for

all of your support again marching band is a tough activity to support in a school district it's really tough to do it well it costs a lot of money it takes up a lot of resources and we have some people here that have been tireless in their support of the marching band especially in the last two years a year and a half ago we didn't think that marching band might even exist with covid and everything that was going on it took a lot of hard work and a lot of courageous decisions by the board members and by the upper administration to keep this group running and the seeds of this championship season that we just experienced were planted way back in the spring of 2020 when these people up here and down here on the

floor had to make a lot of really tough choices and and make sure that we didn't we didn't lose this this organization so without their support we wouldn't be here today we wouldn't be able to experience anything that we have gotten to experience in the last two years so i know these people have to make a lot of big decisions in their life and they are always scrutinized good and bad and i would like to say that without them and the decisions they made a couple years ago this wouldn't be possible so let's please thank the board and our administrators [Applause] and now we need to recognize these kids there are 84 members of the north penn marching knights most of them are here tonight and man i'm sure that every coach and every teacher

that comes up here and talks will tell you that their kids are the hardest working kids in the school and the hardest working kids on the planet and they should tell you that and i'm going to tell you it right now too these kids put in a tremendous amount of work they put in so many hours few people realize that marching band season starts i don't know it doesn't end so it also i guess doesn't really start but it's been going on for a long time and some of these kids have been doing this for three or four years i'm so proud of them they give so much of themselves to this organization and the results are evident without these kids loving this activity and loving each other as much as they do you don't

win championships and without all the hard work without all the sweat and the tears and a little bit of blood not too much but there has been a little bit um it wouldn't be possible and this is all about the kids tonight and everything they've accomplished i couldn't be prouder of them and so uh we're going to read their names today and i guess we'll probably hold our applause to the end otherwise we'll have 84 rounds of applause uh we'll start with jalen aponte aiden ashley alexander awk ryan bay one of our 14 seniors benjamin barron alexander barthelemus william bernal luke bidding another one of our seniors cole bleher another one of our seniors and our percussion captain emmy blanchard samantha blanchard charlotte brody regan burns ethan butler freddie cardona our drum major one of

i'm hoping this person is going to be okay with this because they told me not to say anything or do anything but i do want to recognize one person who's very very very special to the marching knights family um this without this person marching nights isn't a thing it doesn't even resemble what it is today they have put so much of their life into this organization and they represent the very best of what we all want to be like in the marching nights and so i want to recognize uh somebody who's going to be retiring after 42 years working with the north penn marching knights and that is our our drill designer and wonderful human being mr eric kitchenman if he would please stand come on down eric so [Applause] he told me not to

say anything but that man is as much a part of the marching knights as this building and without him we would be nowhere near where we are today so for 42 amazing years thank you eric [Applause] okay we're just going to give everybody a chance who wants to leave a second to do so and we'll resume our meeting in a in a minute what's going on wow is um somebody need assistance there okay okay we're gonna move on now to our statement here that i want to read off before we start public com okay before we begin the audience of citizens portion of tonight's meeting i want to acknowledge the image that was taken in one of the district's classrooms and that has been circulating on social media which shows a mask being taped to

a student's face first and foremost i would like to extend an apology on behalf of the district and the board of school directors to the student who was involved and to his family they did not ask for this incident to occur nor do they deserve the negative attention that it is brought this board can report with total confidence that upon learning of this incident the district immediately took steps to investigate the matter and prevent any similar acts from taking place in the future accountability is paramount to this board as is communication and responsive responsiveness with the family of the student involved their input helps to guide the district's actions we will not let social media influence the facts established by an objective investigation the district has also been fully cooperating with efforts of local law

enforcement and we will continue to do so although it has been determined that this was an isolated incident and that no malice was intended the actions of the employee were unacceptable no matter the context the board and the administration views this as a serious matter and the board is confident that the administration is addressing it as such because all personnel and student matters are confidential and due to the role in which the board may be required to serve with respect to impartiality and the due process rights of students and employees we are bound by the law to not comment or provide any further information regarding this specific incident to be clear the actions of this employee were inappropriate this incident does not however accurately reflect the tremendous efforts that our employees have made to ensure

our schools remain safe and welcoming environments despite the impacts of this pandemic this board as the duly elected representatives of the community will continue to support such efforts to ensure that our schools remain open and safe on behalf of the board i would like to again express our appreciation to all of our staff for those efforts and for their ongoing professionalism during a time of tremendous challenges and finally um for anyone who's preparing to comment on this particular situation this evening i would also ask that out of respect for the family and for the student to please refrain from using any names when commenting um the family has also issued a statement and i'm going to have our solicitor read that before we start the public comment sure madam president um the board has been

made aware of a statement that has been uh addressed to the community and so i will share it for the benefit of the board um as well as for the community this is a statement that was posted on north pennnow.com news organization and the statement reads as follows to the north penn community i am the mother of the child that has been seen with a mask being taped to his face in a classroom at penfield middle school this situation has taken on a life of its own i have chosen to issue this statement today because it is utterly out of control my intention is to level set and provide some details of what my family is experiencing because how this is evolved is exactly what i wanted to avoid from the beginning it has been

critical to maintain anonymity for our family while we work on a resolution this statement is apolitical and that it is neither supportive nor critical of any side of the aisle rather this statement is intended intended to level set and clarify a few things as i was navigating how this would be handled by the district i reached out to another parent in the north penn community to share the image and my story and a private group with the intention of gaining local support to attend the school board meeting it was made crystal clear in my communication and in her communication with the private group that the permission to share the image and my story was given to her only and was given for the limited purpose of sharing it with this private group with the clear

caveat that in no circumstance should be shared publicly what has trans since transpired is like a scene from my worst nightmare certain individuals felt compelled to take matters into their own hands including contacting local authorities and disseminating this image of my son to various media outlets as a result the picture of my son and the story have been shared with various news organizations including but not limited to fox news usa today yahoo news reddit the independent and the london news wire individuals that have taken the liberty to post this image and further disseminate it as well as these news organizations claim to have done so with my permission as recently as this afternoon certain parents in the district were on a talk show and stated quote so they gave us permission to share the photo

for appropriate action end quote this is entirely false except as indicated above with respect to sharing with a private group for a private and limited purpose at no point did i give permission for the image to be shared publicly including with any news organizations any suggestion that i have done so or any inference of a viewpoint being attributed to me is false moreover in that same talk show interview one such guest discussed the severe emotional turmoil that her children have gone through due to the pandemic it is both unfortunate and disappointing that the severe emotion turmoil that my family is enduring which is being exacerbated by it going viral end quote seems to have fallen by the wayside in this while i appreciate parents and groups alike coming to our defense as stated above what

this has evolved into is exactly what i wanted to avoid make no mistake we are going through because all of we were going through because of all of this pales in comparison to the incident itself which i will emphasize was serious in itself now in addition to having to deal with the aftershock of this from the local community and for my son his friends and classmates we're in fear that our identity will be leaked and we will have to to find a host of parents and news and we will find a host of parents and news cameras on my front step if i had any idea that this would evolve to such a level i would never have permitted it to be shared with that private group to make it as clear as possible no

person group or news organization has been or currently is authorized to publish the picture of my son and that concludes the statement and just to reiterate uh the comments of uh madam president we certainly would encourage and and strongly urge anyone who does may comment on this issue to avoid the use of of individual names um concern consistent with these wishes and that concludes the statement thank you mr summers okay so i will read the regular public comment statement and then we will start with public comment we have 20 people signed up this evening for three minutes each so that takes us for an hour of public comment and then we will have another opportunity for public comment at the end of this meeting we will do another half an hour so this meeting is

being videotaped for community cable channels and streamed live individuals attending this meeting and intending to speak to the board should be aware they are being videotaped in order to meet the requirements of pennsylvania sunshine law it is necessary to record the names of all citizens who speak to the board during the meeting to assure compliance with this requirement it is essential that those planning to address the board state their name and municipality members of the audience are asked to limit their questions and comments to allow time for all those who wish to speak to the board the board president may ask an individual to yield the microphone to the next speaker as a reminder the audience of citizens portion of the meeting is designed for residents and taxpayers of the district to provide comment and

feedback on matters which are or may come before the board it is not designed for debate or discussion with the board when appropriate individual school board directors may choose to respond to public comments that have been made once the audience of citizens period has concluded or request that a member of the administration follow up with the speakers after the meeting so um dr bauer would you be so kind as to explain the dual monitor absolutely president stole so there are two monitors uh situated in the auditorium one is labeled as podium one one is labeled as podium two if you see your name on the screen right now it says the next speaker at this podium is antoinette lighty mrs lighty is here at the podium the next speaker's name will appear who is sophia

lady while mrs lighty is speaking over on podium two if you see your name up there you are the next speaker at that podium you will speak after mrs lighty who will bounce back and forth so just watch the screen if you see your name as the next speaker if you could just make your way down uh towards the podium quietly and we'll alternate podiums okay so first up business is antoinette lee go ahead thank you hello my name is antoinette lee i'm from lansdale at the last meeting and for the fourth time this year members of the special needs community have begged you for help we've asked for help with the failing post hope program including clear lack of transition planning unacceptable job training placements many within the school building such as the esc

offering no more than glorified arts and crafts and an overall lack of regard for the post 12 program as a whole as well as its staff and the students it's designed to serve we're halfway through the school year and no corrective actions have taken place on january 6 special education administrators presented an ideologic overview of the special education program but what parents told you that night and what we're continuing to tell you now is that is not the reality of what is actually happening in north penn we can no longer afford to wait for committees councils presentations and meeting meetings that are getting us no resolution our children your staff and the community need resolution now the standard we care answers are no longer enough we need action and we need accountability when the district

is not providing what is agreed to in an iep that is not simply a problem that is a civil rights violation these delays are hurting our children and your silence is being heard we have come to you in emails calls and meetings we've approached administrators the board as a whole and individual members we've come repeatedly and we've come respectfully we are begging you to help us we've watched as teachers and staff have been reprimanded by administration for simply doing what is right by the students we've been lied to bullied and intimidated we've had private parent groups infiltrated by members of administration we've heard administrators tell us that they know we talk to each other in a blatant attempt to scare us from backing down because they know that band together we will hold them to

be accountable many of us have walked through this world fighting battles that most cannot even comprehend so if you're expecting us to go away you have drastically underestimated the power of this community we are parents of the toughest kids you will ever know we have spent their entire lives fighting for their rights we will not stop because they are counting for us we are giving you an opportunity to do what you promised when you were elected when we voted for you to commit to ensuring that north penn school districts are a place where every child can learn grow and thrive we are begging you to be part of the solution because if not you're part of the problem thank you thank you mrs lady is mrs fosh up for she's not here okay thank you

sophia okay hi my name's sophie lighty i live in last year and i'm post-op students i respond my daughters to my friends i work work won't work or talk i have spent my internal to get where i am today i'm tired of saying i deserve for my eye pieces i have miss therapist of training at every school when the sister forgot about me martial is the best but she needs help when we need help when we're playing fight for me thank you sophia [Applause] that was good job sophia okay next up would be mr vincent altieri god rest his soul my dad was and is a former marine he taught me several life lessons about leadership and accountability he taught me one very important one that the tree rots from the top the last time

i sat in front i stood in front of this board meeting i mentioned leadership courage interestingly enough after i called out the board about lacking leadership courage someone actually showed some backbone and responded it was you mr rush and i understand you were in the air force thank you but what you said was weak let me explain you said we listened to the experts that's what you said i listened so i guess the supreme court they're not experts and if you then would like to say okay we're talking about science being the experts i'm not going to get into what's going on in other countries because america is supposed to lead out from front but science let's talk about mr falchi first he said you don't need to wear masks then he said well i

really said that because we wanted the first responders to have him that's not leadership courage it's not being truthful with the people okay i can go on and on and i'm going to go on as long as i have time cnn health experts i'm sure most of you familiar with cnn they weighed in on child development due to masking august 2021 anyone who is just a little behind in learning development will undoubtedly fall further behind that's science a scientist with psychology today educators are reporting that children's academic development is being compromised the consequences are waiting for us the consequences are on the horizon the independent an article from just january 2nd no wonder why people don't trust science i could go on and on and on and on but don't please don't tell me you're

relying on the experts when there really are no experts so you mean to say that the other experts that are allowing our children to be children are not experts it doesn't make any sense stop the ridiculousness stop dehumanizing our children let them be children let them interact and stop worrying about this false back and forth i can play with my friend outside of school with the mask i can i can be with my family without a mask but i have to go to school with the mask it's ridiculous thank you mr military next up is kaylee corby hello my name is kaylee corby and i'm from lansdale as a north penn student in the gifted program sharing a home with a family member in the post 12 program i'm shown every day the blatant differences

that both programs offer their students in the past i have brought up concerns about other situations as well as suggestions for improvement to dr bauer and dr dietrich and the responses they have given me felt more like attempts to escape the subject than actual consideration to my words based on my own experience speaking with board members and listening to meetings i would sincerely request that rather than saving face in the moment we focus our attention on the actual ideas of those who have taken the time and effort to speak with us i'm not attacking you i'm asking for help i've seen firsthand that ieps for special education and gifted students are conducted in very different tones in my experiences at north penn a gip means to me a once-a-year meeting where teachers simply tell me

how well i perform and authorize me to take ap classes afterwards i can forget every anything happened the meetings feel trivial at best for my cousin a north penn student who has been in special education for 14 years now ieps dictate every moment of her day actually they're supposed to but the requirements said in her iep are so often ignored that it's as if no meeting was held at all for her and so many others that i know the blatant disregard for missed therapies is appalling meanwhile everything i need is provided for me on a silver platter and there's an inarguable reason as to why this is because i am gifted north penn provides me all the services i need and more to the point that having to plan them can even feel like a

minor inconvenience northern disabled students on the other hand are losing basic resources that they are entitled to seemingly because they need them i am a gifted student i do not need gifted resources i can graduate from high school and college and find a career for myself without advanced classes your disabled students cannot by dividing the school's resources in this way you are taking away invaluable means of support from students who need them in favor of students who are already thriving on their own the function of a public school should be the welfare of its students not higher ap exam scores thank you thank you kaylee miss pauline brought you good evening i'm from lansdale i'm probably going to be saying a lot of what other people have already said you're not following the science neither

is the county by the way the reason for this prolonged mask wearing issue is because you're getting money and that's really what it comes down to now i calculated that so far i didn't even get through every single category of the money that's allocated but so far it's um 1.6 million dollars that north penn school district has received and there's more cause like as i said i have to finish tallying it all up um it doesn't make sense to keep these children in masks it doesn't make sense for the a teacher to get so hysterical she has to stick tape to a child's face if and the other thing is this money you really have a lot of leeway on how to even spend it so that another thing is is you know that's another

impetus for you to keep these masks going i read your updated policy it's a joke that's what's a joke it's so convoluted you can't even understand it you have to i mean i think you can't even understand what you put out there if the schools were actually serious about protecting students we already know that cloth masks all those masks that you're wearing up there mean nothing they do nothing not even the n95 or the kn-95 not even if you have four masks on they're doing nothing the only kind of mask that would do anything is one like this that has the um filters on it that's the only kind and for someone to wear this you won't be able to hear them speaking and uh if you want to you have to move it to

eat or drink well that just defeats the whole purpose so if you want to spend the money on these and give one of these to every student and then have them suffer all day with this that would be protecting them but there's really nothing to be protected from this high transmission of the omicron is something that is so um what's the word i even want it's mild it's even less than mild people are crowding the hospitals ers if they have a cold symptom and it's really really ridiculous to go to a hospital where there are germs when you're afraid you have a germ when you really might not have one if you go for a broken leg if you bring your child to the hospital with a broken leg they're going to test your child

may come out positive false positive there's no hospitalizations going on hospitalizations means you're admitted nobody's being admitted for omicron in these hospitals so get your information straight get your heads on better and stop wasting people's time and energy coming here trying to get it into your head thank you mrs broughton next up i believe is jessica walker and samantha ferry will be next i don't know if you want to already come up to the podium is samantha ferry here you're samantha fury okay is um jessica walker here because she was next up no okay go ahead mrs ferry samantha ferry hatfield township month after month we stand here and fight for our children's rights and freedoms and as you all sit there and ignore me like you just did to the last woman you're despicable

we brought studies about how harmful these mass are and that you are breaking several laws although i'm glad the district admitted that taping a mass to a child's face is completely unacceptable i think as parents and taxpayers we deserve to know how this situation is being handled because as of now we heard the teacher who is a special education teacher is not arrested for child abuse nor fired but is just not allowed in the room with this child what about the other children that are in her presence this is happening all over the country because of the fear being pushed upon the people this is inexcusable and unacceptable is complete child abuse you have time and time again failed this community by not taking the parents concerns seriously just because this parent has decided not

to take further action does not mean other parents want this teacher to continue to be around other children in 2016 my daughter came home from am culp scared because a child in her classroom threatened to shoot up the school i immediately called the principal and followed up and it was brushed under the rug there was only consequences was they had a meeting with the parents and that was it he was allowed right back in school okay now i'm hearing that this happened again right before christmas and again it's being pushed under the under the rug you have allowed child pornography in the school libraries you are confusing children with their sexual identity and gender fluidity biology is science and there are only two genders you have allowed an am called fifth grade teacher to continue

teaching after segregating and discriminating against kids in the classroom and allowed her to take kids for privileged walks stop brainwashing these children with your backwards ideology you have smirked laughed and ignored us parents for far too long as per the constitution we have the power you are our public servants we do not consent to masking testing quarantining nor this clinic that is being built send back the sr money we do not want it you're digging yourselves your own grave by not that putting us out to this madness and standing up for what is right and the rest of the school board are just following like sheep because you're cowards the government and public officials are not your friends they have their own agendas stop trusting them stop trusting the news turn it off research and

never stop asking why do not stop asking questions do not be silenced we are one nation under god and we the people have the power not you thank you mrs ferry mrs gad you're up next dan gad lansdale if all this masking is for public safety why is it that the public doesn't enforce it meanwhile the public school enforces this unconstitutional masking i'll tell you why this isn't about public safety of your friends neighbors or school teachers it's about control because some of these orders have been fought back for the public small businesses corporations etc they now need to impose these so-called laws on our children what is this really about it's about controlling our children's minds prior to this pandemic i don't ever recall wearing a mask for the flu a cold or even

a sniffle let's forget about following the science because that has changed multiple times if you follow the cdc and fda which has not been the case this nonsense would have been over a long time ago for you to continue with this charade is beyond comprehension don't you find it odd that we solely are following montgomery county health department and chop why is that if we are following cases why are all the numbers rounded none of you can even make this make sense because it's not data driven it's fear driven and if you want to live in fear then by all means that's your choice but don't forget that every single one of us has a choice if you trust in god there would be no fear just like our kids have rights so do our

teachers the hypocrisy is astounding when it comes to the rules for the ones that our kids look to for compassion understanding education and security in lieu of the new quote-unquote science clearly open your eyes many are getting this virus so why then is this acceptable if teachers test positive for covid and are vaccinated they are able to work from home and do not have to use their sick days if teachers test positive for covadin are unvaccinated they are not allowed to work from home and they have to use their own sick days this is the first time a medication is being blamed on those who didn't take it this is blatant discrimination you have created such harm and division by your choices and with your choices lies consequences in time you will all be exposed

we are free american people each one of you has violated our united states constitution bill of rights and the nuremberg code i'll close with a quote from theodore roosevelt knowing what's right doesn't mean much unless you do what's right thank you mrs dad mr lambros you're up i'm johnny lambros owner of coffee corner on broad street in lansville i want to start off with a question that a friend of mine asked you a few times maurice he asked you when does it end he asked you multiple times we've all asked you multiple times with the omnicron variant being the dominant strain it seems like we're getting close due to the high speed and low mortality rate the studies have shown significant signs of an endemic so why are you keeping the mass mandates is it

that you're following the science or are you following a narrative i remember about six months ago i read you a disclaimer on a packaged mast stating that it would not protect against viruses you did not take my information seriously back then because it came from a fox news watching trump supporter maybe you should stop playing politics instead accusing everyone else of doing the same due to your far left leaning ideology you have created a culture where conservative children are bullied even by teachers at times masks are magical protection from the virus and children are taught that they are walking vectors of death and a teacher even thought it would be a good idea to tape a mask on a child's face even if the intentions of the teacher were not malicious we all know that

it's not okay even you it came from the ideology and the panic culture that the board has created the fish thinks from the head down and it starts with you you have the opportunity to change it many parents many commun community members have pleaded with you and basically begged you you laugh you snark at them and you act like you are the high and mighty but you are public servants elected by the people in the community maybe you should start taking that job a little bit more seriously maybe you should start focusing on helping the community come together instead of divide us and make fun of people who disagree with you you act like you're all about the community and you're all about equality and togetherness all you do is cause division all you do

is sit up there and try to bully everybody else well you can't bully us we're not your students i don't work for you you can't cancel me you can't cancel them and we'll be here every damn meeting if we have to we don't care have a good one thank you mr lambos next up is mr lanier jason lanier lansdale i want to preface this by saying i know a lot of teachers i have teachers as neighbors i know a lot of them are working through tremendous uh strain to try to get things done for their kids that said i don't think all the teachers are good in this this district i don't think so and i think you look to get those teachers to indoctrinate the kids into to be your enforcers for your policies

and i say this i say this looking at your statement you said that you did an immediate investigation did you know you in your immediate investigation you determined the incident was isolated i remember hearing these same terms back when i asked you about critical race theory and you denied having it in the school yet there are books in the library that specifically call out critical race theory by name there are professional development books that call critical race theory out by name so you denied it but it's true there's remember when we talked about uh privileged walks you denied it it's true it happened so why should we believe you here when we talk to you we sit there teachers are making kids write privilege uh write write papers on white privilege or whiteness you deny

it it's true it's happening i've asked you many times what are your policies who do your policies benefit because they don't benefit the kids and it's it's evident in how low you're you're testing yourself you're struggling how low how low your rankings are sinking so this specifically i want to know have there been any other teachers that have taped masks to kids it was an isolated incidence that that answers me no i know we're not up for debate but how do you know how do you know there is only one teacher who's done this how do you know there is only one teacher that did privilege walks i know you don't know because there have been more than one i've talked to numerous kids you had a student come up here a student who has

been lauded on his his his academic success and he told you there were there are privileged walks and you deny it's happening i want to know why should we believe your denial why should we believe that our other teachers aren't doing this because you know who's empowered them to do this who's made them think it's okay is this school board has this school board last meeting gave me a hard time about not wearing my mask while i was up here having a conversation with you however you had a stool school board member up here giving their presentation without a mask on so you want to bully me because i don't agree with you you want to bully kids because they don't agree with you or do you just arbitrarily want to tape mask to kids

how do you know there hasn't been other incidences thank you thank you next up is mrs blazo is that you mrs blossom my name is dina and i'm a concerned parent of the monster liberty i find to heart it's hard to believe that with this whole mass charade safety plan that the board isn't isn't getting some incentive kickback or promises etc how is it that selected not elected volunteers board members are so quick to keep these orders in place when we know that the department of health and the state didn't follow protocol and yet following the department of health and chop no one following the cdc fda or who anymore wonder why maybe because the whole coven narrative is crashing the plan is to take over freedom of choice freedom of speech freedom to peacefully

protest freedom of thought what does antifa mean anti-family that's what is happening here this isn't about safety it's about control weekends are freedom weekdays are tyranny public schools are run by the government funded by the government and regulated by the government all was stealing our taxpayer dollars think about that many of us parents here in other districts have banded together to get advice from constitutional lawyers we know our rights currently a lawsuit is being prepared for the head of the department of education then trickling down to school districts along with individual school board members also according to chad snee from tucker hall school districts have no legal authority granted to them by the general assembly the supreme court found that the secretary of health did not have the power to require mass in schools under

the disease prevention and control law the county nor school districts have any power to require mass in public schools the head of the snake has been severed and nailed jail time or forced regulations are upon you for the last two years we have been told mask up that backs up shut up and give up well no more just a reminder you will not be mandating anything to me apparently there's some confusion on your part about the relationship we have you work for me i'm not your servant nor your slave i will not be talked down to i will not be mandated to i will not be forced to do anything against my will you are my employee it's not your place get it straight signed we the people god bless humanity thank you mrs blaser

next up is mrs sasso yes hi i'm alicia sasso montgomery township i came here today to discuss flexible instructional days and how those impact the special needs community i have two special needs children within the district one that during the school day has a paraprofessional for the entirety of his day after the implementation of a fed last year and the disastrous experience we had with virtual schooling during coop my husband and i took it upon ourselves to engage the school district to attempt to ensure our child had the support they needed during flexible instructional days or something we felt okay about in order to safeguard that our child did not miss out on their much needed education i do want to point out that although we have an agreement with the school district regarding my

child's access to education during these days this is in no way a proper way of delivery of education for him nor do we feel that it replaces the importance of him learning in person this year we recently had a fit and i was surprised to hear that many special needs parents still do not have the support they need in order to navigate these days for their children in the community conversation sessions yesterday with dr dietrich another mother echoed my frustration with vids i remarked that virtual days are non-learning day for her children as a taxpayer and as a parent i find this to be unacceptable this critical class of children deserve first consideration not last the department of education website has a section under meeting free and appropriate public education and it states prior to

implementation of a fed the iep team should convene to determine how to best meet a student's needs and determine what supports alternative means may be employed to meet the participation requirements failure to do so may result in the student being granted compensatory education all students including those with special needs or disabilities must be able to participate on the fed it seems that this is a critical step that was missed i'm asking the school board administration to ensure that during this iep season each child's needs are addressed accordingly so that each child is receiving the free and appropriate public education they are entitled to and their parents tax dollars are paying for lastly i want to help amplify another mother's voice that also attended the meeting yesterday and who met with two of our board members

this september the woman's son is a child that utilizes a wheelchair during school recess the child is not able to access the playroom playground equally to their non-disabled peers and is left to play in the mulch as his mother described it but the hiring of inclusion specialists and facilitators i want to make sure we're utilizing taxpayer dollars appropriately while the inclusion specialist should be advocating and identifying ways to keep special education children in the regular education classroom they should also be advocating for and identifying ways for their children to be fully included outside the classroom so they can fully participate during the social aspects of the school day which is critical for their mental volume thank you mrs next up is mrs johnson hi i'm emily johnson i'm from north wales um i went to

north penn and i'm not happy to be back i think a lot of what i heard tonight echoes what i experienced in a little bit of a different way north penn is extremely diverse and you love to brag about it i can't think of anything that squashes diversity more than forcing every single child faculty member and staff to wear a mask on their face with absolutely no choice over the matter i have three daughters how are you teaching our kids body autonomy when you're forcing them to do something with their face that they may not be comfortable with how are they going to trust their teachers the staff the faculty at their school how have you guys handled sexual harassment in the past that might be a sore subject i don't think this is helping

the um size of the virus particle is i think it's 40 000 times the cross section of a human hair i think your masks are helping that i don't sorry um when i looked up some of the diversity information on the school's website there's a ton of resources it comes all down to listen listening being open talking about it and making sure that our children understand diversity and don't lead with fear because fear leads to hate i don't think that's what's happening i know that there's a lot of speculation going on with what happened with taping the child's mask and what i personally have heard is that that's a common threat that's happening in the schools and that teacher decided to act on it i think that's a conversation that's happening a lot in that

school and somebody finally got a picture of it actually being done i don't think this is an isolated conversation i also wanted to mention in your comment about that you said that you didn't think that the family appreciated the negative attention that this was giving to them but i want to be very clear the negative attention is on you specifically on you these are your decisions solely yours they're not mine they're not the parents they're not the child it doesn't matter if they're uncomfortable children are suspended if they take their mask off if they can't function with it if they need a break i i lit i work from home i never wear a mask anywhere i go this is the first time i've had a mask on in probably 12 months i am hot

i'm overheating i'm dehydrated i don't understand how you're doing this to our children all day thank you mrs johnson mrs flannery vicki flannery hi your neighborhood friendly moms for liberty chapter chair i know you all hate us i come to you with concerns as a parent on how you are running this district i speak for my kids my neighbors kids and for the kids and grandkids of the approximately 46 000 votes cast against you for nearly a year now we have brought to you concerns ranging from numerous ranging from numerous pornographic books at all levels of our school libraries privileged walks in a 5th grade classroom repeated issues within our special education community and now an assault on one of our students by an ill-advised special education resource teacher i'd like to comment that this

isn't the first time a teacher has done this to a student on august 19th at an action meeting just like this a parent came forward and addressed that a teacher tied a mask behind her son's head what has been done about that you are causing long-term damage to the children of this community there is a long history of intimidation tactics carried out on members of the north penn student and staff community specifically by you mrs stoll for over a decade now including your own husband intimidating members airing their grievances during public comment during past school board meetings for too long we have allowed these things to happen and i am here to tell you parents and members of this community will never stop standing up against your abuse of power i am calling on members

of this board to stand as an individual for those that you claim to represent mr resh you are the only individual who has stood up and questioned the policies and agenda of your colleagues on the board and i applaud that this is not political this has never been political we just deserve people on the board who will represent the entire community and protect our children thank you thank you mrs flannery mrs bradica jesse bradica upper glendon i want to re-read a part of the statement from the mother that whose son's mask was taped to his face in one of your classrooms by one of your teachers as i was navigating how this would be handled by the district i reached out to another parent in the north penn community to share the image and my

story in a private group with the intention of gaining local support to attend the school board meeting this parent would never have had to make a statement if this board would have acted sufficiently and immediately and that was made clear with the board's public post on their north penn neighbors for progress page yesterday i'm going to reiterate that for months parents not politicians have come to this board as concerned parents with concerns on the wrongful actions like white privilege assignments privilege walks sexually explicit books purchased for our school libraries mass effectiveness and the mental health of our children instead of addressing our concerns and taking accountability for these issues you have deflected by discrediting chastising and even lying about the parents who have approached you let's be clear the media storm came one because of

the actions of your teacher and a lack of clear policy to prevent it and two because you didn't address this appropriately or timely let's not deflect let's take accountability how can we trust you to take accountability as elected members who represent us who are supposed to hold this district accountable and for the people when you don't hold yourselves accountable thank you [Applause] okay that was the last public comment sign up so we will move on then to the business of the meeting so next up is the approval of the minutes can i have a motion please for the approval of the minutes from december 6 2021 december 16 2021 and the approval of the minutes from january 11 2022 please so moved motioned by mr fusco seconded by mr casa any comments or questions seeing

to review their transcripts and provide guidance and support to help the student achieve graduation the state board of education also moved one step closer to replacing pennsylvania's current science standards by adopting a final set of amendments earlier this month the new proposed pa state science standards linked here for full transparency will impact grades k-12 if adopted by the state board but will not take effect until the summer of 2025 at which time we expect standardized tests like keystone's to be realigned finally pennsylvania's house state government committee recently approved hb 2093 which would bar candidates for public school board from cross filing in primary elections currently members of the community who wish to serve in these roles can file paperwork to appear on both republican and democratic ballots and must earn signatures from neighbors registered in

those parties to do so when candidates cross file it puts more names more ideas and ultimately more choices in front of voters earlier in the electoral process promoting authentic and purposeful conversations between neighbors that lead to genuine solutions for our students according to psba if this legislation passes pennsylvania will be quote the only state in the nation to not allow voters some open process to elect candidates in the primary for school boards end quote as always members of the north penn community are encouraged to reach out to their state senators and representatives on issues they care about and a report thank you mr mcbain moving on then to the solicitor's report mr summers please uh thank you madam president my report this evening is to announce that the board met in executive session immediately prior

is an informational item this concludes the finance report thank you dr dietrich all right moving on then to other business does anyone have any other business to discuss this evening i just want to comment that um really truly it's an honor to be serving on this board especially when we get to recognize students and i was such a privilege to be able to see the north penn marching nights perform and how they commanded the field and tonight in this room they filled it i am so grateful that so many of them were able to come tonight um and just they filled the entire auditorium and from this view um on the stage it was it was truly an honor and a privilege to be able to recognize them and all who support them and the

parents who filled the seats and all who came out to support and it really is one of the best things that we get to do as a board i think we can all agree on that thank you are there any other comments or any other business that anyone wants to discuss this evening i do have one um just point of clarification that i wanted to ask dr dietrich dr geotrick relative to the uh esser funding um the esser funding can you just explain just to the community in terms of how that funding kind of comes comes to us and how it is or isn't connected to the health and safety plan it is my question kind of clear yes and mr summers uh can certainly augment what i have to say here but uh we

do receive esser funding from the federal government there are some very prescribed uses that are possible for the use of that funding one of the requirements of that esser funding is that you have a health and safety plan the masking is not a requirement in order to receive the s or funding there needs to be a health and safety plan that addresses the matter but we just want to make that clarification thank you dr dietrich excuse me you're out of order please don't shout from the audience madam president if i may just uh comment on add-on what dr dietrich added the esser funding um that is available and for the district to receive with regard to the health and safety plan there is a distinction that the district must have and every district must have

in order to receive that funding a health and safety plan and that health and safety plan is required to state what the district's policies and procedures are with regard to a variety of topics including sanitation contact tracing other issues and one of those is is masking the unit the universal masking what is the district's policy so just just to be clear the health and safety plan must contain what the district's requirement is with regard to masking it does not need to require that the district have mandatory masking in effect in order to satisfy that requirement so in other words a district could certainly have a mask optional policy as part of their health and safety plan and receive esser funding it is not a requirement for that to occur thank you mr summers i appreciate

the clarification could i madam president could i ask for clarification sure um additionally so for the esser funding we were given specific guidelines um not guidelines specifics regarding what types of um things activities the monies can be spent on is that correct very detailed thank you mrs wesley anybody else have any comments or anything to discuss okay now we'll move on then to our second i'm sorry uh one of the things that we're using that extra funding for is we're making summer school free for the kids we're expanding summer school we realized that we realized as a board that just children haven't gotten the education that they would have gotten under normal circumstances so that's why we made summer school free and expanded some of the summer school offerings for the kids so please take

advantage of the summer school programs thank you thank you mr rush okay i think that's it right okay um now we'll move on to our second audience of citizens we will allow for an extra half an hour um so that would take us to nine o'clock p.m is there anyone that would like to make public comment at this time please state your name and your municipality please shane gilchrist tomlinson township well for a lot tonight i think we started with an hour of public comment nothing positive except for the praise heaped upon yourselves by yourselves commending the band for their phenomenal accomplishments but we all know what happened to them earlier that kind of died offer real quick multiple meetings special education concerns raised nothing done about it can't comment on it i've heard this

for for months now fail to see any action we start off condemning the actions of a teacher a special education teacher taping a mass to a kid's face interesting it's a special education teacher and we keep hearing about the issues with special education in the school there could be an explanation there all you need to do is open your eyes porn in the libraries race walks which are denied of course what we've been saying about mass turns out it's starting to be true esser funding boards making votes on things they apparently don't even know what goes into it don't question the science though science is meant to be questioned i learned that in this school that is what science is questioning science over and over and over and finding the failures and learning new things

and as we learn new things as long as they meet your political views they're copacetic one last thing well two last things really tina stole a lot of people a lot of athletes in the district a lot of athletes that don't play football there's a very specific reason they do not you are not the queen of football though you may want to act like it trust me your secret's out lastly taping a mask to a kid's face well while condemned by the board as it should have been it was then explained as something that was blown way out of proportion so i guess the best way i can put it is if you want to tape a mask to a kid's face and then try to downplay it why doesn't somebody come down here and

try to tape a mask to my face [Applause] um and what was your municipality i'm sorry what your municipality tell manson lansdale um i made a mistake rare but i do it sometimes i said 1.6 million actually you've received 16 million and used and i still didn't figure it all out yet because there's so many sections of it and yeah you are prolonging this mask thing because you're saying it's high transmission you know valerie arkoosh this morning at the um commissioner's meeting she gives an update every meeting about the covet situation wrong okay there's no hospitalizations going on for people with omicron okay they're running to the er if they have a sniffle or a cold because they're scared to death because of the mass hysteria they're not being admitted to the hospital for omicron

nobody's died from overcrowd okay omicron is a highly transmissible transmissible thing however it's not the danger that everybody thinks it is you don't need to be tested over and over and over again i actually brought that up to valerie and i said why is the why is the county spending so much money for people to just go running for tests how often do you need to be tested and if you've had covid you don't need the vaccine you just don't need it because you have natural immunity when i was a kid we didn't have vaccine so i had to have the measles and the chicken pox and i had them and i've never gotten them again because that's what it happened that's what happens when you get a disease and you live through it a

hundred years ago when there was the spanish flu that whole pandemic thing back then the way it was ended was people got sick some died some survived and everybody moved on okay that's what happens it's it's a fact of life people get sick people die but then the rest survive and then they build up that immunity and that's how it works the vaccines right now are actually causing people harm and that's already been proven okay here's some new truths i don't have a lot of time the vaccines aren't safe okay um nobody's going public with that yet but everybody's getting pissed because they're being misled and they're realizing it cloth masks don't work the cdc finally admits that cloth masks that they said worked they don't work they just don't kids should not have booster

shots there are children dying more children have died from the vaccine than have died from covid any parent who wants to sacrifice their child that's on them and their children are going to grow to hate them when they grow up and they find out what their parents did to them they will hate their parents they will resent their parents they're not going to thank their parents for ruining their lives for an experimental drug thank you mrs awesome now your time's up sorry you're the mic's cut your your time is up go ahead start the timer go ahead you can start your mic is cut off ma'am and you can start your time's up go ahead this is came from samantha ferry hatfield township i just want to piggyback off of what she was saying um

these masks are useless they are making the children sick the vaccines are causing the variance okay and for you to open up this clinic is actually it's insane this is school not a hospital not a doctor's office okay if you do research you'll find out that what people have died from is because the hospitals are killing them okay so this fear is being pushed upon the nation as far as if it was treated properly it's a damn near 100 percent survival rate what the hospitals are doing is killing people don't trust me ask the hospitals what protocols they follow and some are still currently following from death severe is given to all covet patients per government orders as i said the government is not your friend i have asked several doctors and nurses if they

knew the adverse effects and they tell me no one actually told me and i quote no but i'll tell you i've never seen anyone get better off of running death severe go figure from the severe shuts down your kidneys fills your body with fluid you can't breathe they innovate you the intimate innovation literally stretches your lungs like a rubber band they can only recoil so far and then it's done then you die okay this is ridiculous another adverse effect acute respiratory failure ivermectin is a nobel prize winning drug and is on the nih's approved medication list which i have right here in my hands and needs to be handed out so what we need to do as a community and as people we need to stand up to people like you the hospitals the government

because you are killing us all and i also have your uh esser funds right here a bunch of liars [Applause] you can say your name hi my name is lucy stahl and i'm from north wales thank you i have multiple questions for all of you you have been given another chance which one of you will be bold enough to stand up and be different are you actually listening or just going to a safe place as we stand here begging for you to take care of our children by educating them with the best education in the county and if possible in the state when will you decide that it isn't about party affiliation that it's about the children has nothing to do with republican or democrat stop that when will you take off your rose-colored glasses

and actually see the damage being done to these children suicides on the rise we're constantly being asked for therapist recommendations emotional intelligence by all people in the district are at an all-time low children are constantly being yelled at by teachers about masks as if they're really going to save someone's life instead of being taught literacy science and math put up your mask is all my child hears all day how does that build confidence and make them feel it's a safe space for them safety isn't about getting sick or not it's not just about that we've never asked you to guarantee that it's impossible which of you will actually be brave and think differently and voice your difference amongst the peers you have up there at the board nine zero is not being brave which of

you will stop making us pay for contact tracing and testing at which two years from now two years in it should be done by the county because it's done poorly by north penn my daughter was positive here oh she was contact traced there oh it was close here oh we don't really know that's what i got in december if you can't do it well stop costing us money and stop it we have been here been there done that for two years and with all the changing information we still can't critically think we're not helping our children become critical thinkers either again who will be the brave one here i beg you to stand up and be brave thank you mr stahl mackenzie ferry hatfield township first of all i need you guys to stop ignoring

us open your eyes and listen to what i'm about to say it is halfway through the school year and if my brother and i hadn't switched to a private school we would still be in masks when i was in a mask i could not breathe as for my brother he's in kindergarten and i find it very unfair as he has a lot of trouble speaking and forming words when he asks for something and you don't understand him he'll give up and stay silent as i mentioned before he has trouble speaking do you really think having a mask over half of his face is going to help the problem if you think it will you're very uneducated every single one of you who think masc masks parents from getting sick from getting us sick is uneducated

if anything masks are why we're getting sick my mom just graduated nursing school and the first thing that she was taught was that masks are no good after 20 minutes you have to change the ma you have to change the mask in order to prevent particles ex exhaled from being re-inhaled into your lungs causing bacterial pneumonia we were all told as kids to not touch your eyes nose mouth or any part of your face because they are all entries to your body if that's true why don't we wear full face masks they do not work to add to that you all wear masks outside but guess what no matter where you are you all breathe the same air inside a house or outside when i go to school now i feel free i can breathe

there's no six foot distance and there's no teacher trying to tape a mask to my face i have no idea what this world has come to but this is not how i want to grow up i hope that by hearing this from an 11 year old makes you change do better thank you mackenzie miss dale cherry go ahead vincent altiri lansdale pennsylvania i wanted to make sure i heard something right some of these funds are going to summer school who the hell is going to go to summer school 90 degrees with the mask on are you kidding me this is my scold my third school board meeting shame on me last week there were only two people that decided to come up here and speak shame on us i know all you people up here

i don't know you personally some of you have requested friends on facebook yes yes yes i'm not that good on internet but okay i know you've been here before that's great i committed to running for the school board last week after my second meeting because of the lack of leadership as a son of a military dad i keep my promises and even when you decide to finally get rid of this ridiculous mass mandate i am still going to be here to be the voice i i commit to that so i did some research on what's needed to run for the school board okay it takes a lot of time thankfully my boss said make the time okay great you know it said you should show up for the meetings get a feel for what's going

on i said that's easy i just have to learn how to sing the kumbaya and i could get a feel for what's going on that won't be me um slightly off the mass topic i'm not sure if i'm allowed to put up a motion but my motion would be to defund the school give the parents the opportunity to send their children where they want to if they can't afford it i for one should montgomery township now decide the brilliant idea to defund the police i for one would take my tax pay money and i'd give that money to the police for people that are actually gonna do something and why are seven or eight police officers here tonight is beyond me and in the first place as i stated last week i'm not a domestic

terrorist and i'm not a pronoun period so why do we need all these police officers here and nothing to worry about with me just a regular guy that cares and then and then lastly when when is someone going to propose a motion to reconsider i don't know i think that's fair are we going to wait for the 400 million mass to be delivered i mean if if someone had 400 million of these masks we've been a lot better shape but nonetheless reconsider get the mass off our children in terms of providing them an option because we do live in america thank you thank you henriette dondell vasquez lansdale i'm sure that most of you already know my story and on behalf of the special education i yeah special education parents and myself we ask that

we can meet privately with administration and with the board we're exhausted we need answers and we need help our mental health is not where it should be and for this we just ask that we can meet privately thank you [Applause] uh zachadora lands lpa um mostly i'm here to talk to you tina we go way back played football with your kids i know how you were with the 12th night and i know how things are at the football program especially if you're not don't have the money to fund and to give into the organization and it kind of seems like it's the same thing going on here i pull my kids out of school public education i should say the one this whole pandemic happened and uh my daughter's six she hasn't had any normalcy

whatsoever and i have to deal with it on a daily basis but when i see stuff that's happening this school and see how you guys act especially with community seeing kids get abused sexualized i'm pretty sure in fusco your kids on the marching nights that mean national news you can't even protect your kid on march and nights and um i think that just kind of shows you where your guys whole agenda is it's where you guys get the money it's where you guys get your political statements from and that's all it really comes down to tina i called you as a conservative parent uh taxpayer um after you told me to hit you up if there's any problems because um the rumor mill that goes on in this school you know he said i don't

answer your questions i don't talk to you and he banged on me what kind of trust is that it's been like this since the beginning you call me conspiracy theorist when um i brought out facts about polio vaccines causing polio just like the covenant vaccine causing covet and you just call me conspiracy theorist right winger trump support and the same thing keeps on happening so hopefully you guys get this thing all situated and i wish you guys the best thank you [Applause] good mrs flaring thank you vickie flannery north wales um as i stated earlier i am the chapter chair of moms for liberty here in montgomery county all of you on your personal social media accounts and your political social media accounts jonathan casa pa151 you have done nothing but vilify my friends and

moms for liberty unlike you we are not political we are parents we are moms we are dads we are grandparents aunts and uncles who are only fighting for what we see fit for our children ms stole i'd like to talk about you again you lobbied for appointment to your position at the top of the pyramid three times promising unlimited time for public comment but the past few unlike tonight you have graciously only given us two minutes to speak and that happens now that members of the public actually want to make a comment addressing our concerns regarding the school district and our children on that line everybody in this community knows that if i walked up to any one of you and use masking tape to secure your mask to your face especially you mr fusco

i would be arrested and charged with assault would i not but yet students in our district do not have the same protections under your board's leadership so what are your plans when you run for additional office you want to go ahead jason lanier lands it i wanted to touch on something that somebody brought up about unanimous votes slight correction the first time somebody did not vote unanimously in over a year and a half was miss g that was regarding the the health safety or excuse me the the the medical uh facility so i applaud you for for using critical thinking and realizing maybe this isn't the best idea and i i'm serious when i say that i applaud your your ability to to look beyond this ask hard questions and decide this isn't the right

thing and i would ask you to do the same thing now with this masking policy if it's it's not fund dependent as as uh mr summers said why are you doing this apparently somehow these cloth masks are supposed to be preventing transmission of disease this is not the case we know this couple of reasons the thousands of studies that say that it is the case prior to the pandemic there's many health officials in the in this cdc and the young age who would say masking does not do anything now the pandemic hits and anything will work as a mask just not n95 kn 95 sure but just cloth mask anything in front of your face this is not the case i heard this analogy it's not quite right but somewhat accurate it's like it's like

trying to control mosquitoes with a chain-link fence it just doesn't work the virus goes right through and as soon as you take off a k-95 mask or in 95 mass it loses all of its sterility you don't get to take this on and off on and off on and off it's one time on an hour maximum you cannot leave these on indefinitely they become saturated they do not work after that you need to make a better choice you need to do what's benefiting the kids not benefiting the usher plan not to benefit the political ideology because some people in here think mr cass is running i don't know if mr fusco's running i don't know who's running but there is political their political uh fathers tell you you need to you need to be in

support of mass because that's what they want because funding from the nea wants masks and funding from the na wants a whole lot of different things that you guys shouldn't do putting putting that aside i want you guys to honestly think about what are you doing to pre help prevent kids from not failing how is this helping them not to fail how is this benefiting their long-term education because from my vantage point i don't see it i don't see it in my own kids i don't see my kids friends and i have older kids it's not happening it's not beneficial to them so you guys really need to have a discussion not the the the quick tip when when you guys have your debates up there and then i'll vote unanimously but a real debate

involving real science understanding what you're doing to the kids that is not beneficial to them just consider what's really happening to the kids not what is happening to your political futures or what's happening mr cass's future or fusco's future thank you thank you mr linear all right we have time for one more comment [Applause] uh diana blystone uh lansdale the strix district has admitted they are not meeting fate for my son since september and has no place here in the district he's still here waiting for somewhere to accept him there is still no protection for the child running through lansdale and we listen to the board meeting about the special ed program like we don't already know what's available here how about we talk about those what those programs look like what is their day

look like what's actually happening and how the teachers and the staff are struggling to deal with behaviors due to covet post 12 who knows what that looks like we are putting a health care building on a property of pendail but the post-12 who are adults in a school with minors it's called dignity please allow them to have it and give them a space to call their own our children deserve protection they deserve a chance to meet their fullest potential when i see the post of a tape of tape being put on the mask of a child i instantly thought of my son i truly believe that the people who work with him right now would never do that and i am thankful for that but can you guarantee me that my son will can't come

who can't come home and tell me what happened won't ever have to experience something like this a boy who can't speak deserves to come home go to school get an education and come home safe he also deserves a mom who can trust that he's safe and getting his needs met when he's not in my care the job of being a mom of a special boy is hard enough he deserves all of your attention and i can promise you i won't back down until you make it right thank you thank you mrs blessed [Applause] okay that concludes our second public comment period all right one more comment thank you and then we're going i just want to say that it's not too late this is my first time being here obviously there's a lot of tension

a lot of differences in the room it my dad grew up racist my husband's black my dad learned different and he does different you guys can all have that you have that opportunity to make your mark in the history for north penn school district and for the community you can learn new things you can change your opinions and we're here to welcome you to hearing us to trusting that we know what we're doing with our children and i just wanted to make that known that it doesn't need to be so divisive we're here to share ideas and we hope that you're open to them and when you're ready to listen and you're ready to stand up and you're ready to be that first person making a stand we're here for you thank you thank you

i'm sorry can you say your name again my name is emily emily okay [Applause] emily johnson right okay thank you all right with that do i have a motion to adjourn please everyone comment please uh and appreciating the passion that everyone has for the safety of uh all students in north penn and throughout our community it's important for us i think the one aspect we can all agree upon and i've seen in our state house in our capital in d.c is the bipartisanship and everyone agrees about victim advocacy and victim rights i ran a national non-profit serving victims of some of the most heinous crimes across the country i've served for the last six years in a non-profit victim advocacy center one of the best in the country i think it's a good opportunity for

us to make sure that our community norms and expectations are understood the worst thing to do to a victim of any incident is to take away control that is for victims and their families to decide as part of their pathway forward for healing for justice one of the most awful things that could be done to victims is to take away their narrative take away their voice and when that's done an apology is owed to that victim so if there's anything we can do as a community in supporting victims of incidents that are traumatic we at least need to not dismiss them and let them have control over what their healing and justice needs to be for their attainment of satisfaction that their needs have been met thank you very much thank you all right thank
