Good evening schoolboard and community It feels like just yesterday I I was filling everybody in on the month of May Probably because it was 2 weeks ago but still I miss standing up here Speaking of which this is my last meeting as the 2025 2026 student representative of the high school school to the school board But I'll save my sappiness till the end Let's get into into June Although the official last day of school is tomorrow summer's presence has been flowing through the halls probably since well I don't know her but the student body body is ready especially after so much anxiousness in the last few weeks Underassmen just finished their last day of finals today And when I tell you what what a relief But it hasn't been all stress over at

the high school relief But it hasn't been all stress over at the high school In fact since we last left off in May the PE majors class went on a field trip to Lynvilla Orchards for some some nice fun fishing We had our spring improv show Whose Line Is It Anyway where students in the production gave gave audience members quite a laugh with their non-scripted scenes On our very last on our very last block day of the school year during lunch and and we had a courtyard jam session where not only bubbles and water ice were enjoyed but also live live music from our students themselves We also honored a remarkable amount of students and their incredible performances in the national Spanish exam We had six gold gold medals 20 silver medals 16 bronze medals

and 32 honorable mentions The girls lacrosse team season came to a close this month and tonight our boys boys lacrosse team competes competes at Extter Township High School for the PIAA semi-finals June marked a lot of lasts for our class We had the last days of class for our seniors earlier this month Senior sunset senior senior reflections senior awards senior stroll where seniors go back to their elementary schools and reminisce and maybe even have a few swings on the swing set And And finally of course graduation which is tomorrow of course graduation which is tomorrow at Villanova This RER class was so spirited and brought so much energy to the high school And I hope that if the class of of 2027 can live up to even a fraction of the class of 26's legacy

I'll call it a win Well the time has come for me to say say good It has taught me so much Gave my mid junior year slump something to look forward to And I'm really really thankful for all the people that made this this experience so fulfilling and so fun Thank you to Dr Mack and Miss Piersol for encouraging me to take this position To Miss Klesman for for always responding to my frantic emails and for always calming me down To the RER community who has either sat in this room or listened to me online And finally to to each and every single one of these school board members Um because I know sometimes my addresses are long-winded and sometimes I want to do is go home Please enjoy the flower arrangements that I made

people look at our budget 70% of our budget goes to salaries and benefits because it's it's people It's the people in the district that make the difference They make the difference in the lives of our students students uh and in their colleagues and we can't thank you enough Um we're going to have an opportunity after I finally get done with my remarks remarks to recute each one and we'll have the principal remarks remarks to recute each one and we'll have the principal speak about those that are here tonight Uh but I also want to just just thank all the retirees We started off the school year talking about um how much our staff love our kids and our our retirees tonight truly exemplify that And it was really wonderful for me at the start of

the school year because I called up one teacher to acknowledge 50 years of teaching at the beginning of the school year and uh and now now she's on that retirey list this evening Kathy will be retiring And when Kathy came up to acknowledge her 50 years Kathy looked at me and said "You know I this place." Uh and when Kathy said that I believe that's what all of you you know feel And I can't thank you enough for the love you've given to the kids the love you've given to your your colleagues um the dedication the time Uh it's truly incredible truly remarkable So thank you And then transition Speaking of retirement and all the retirees please stop coming back looking all young and relaxed Everybody comes back looking tan relaxed Our transitions though we're

excited for our students who are transitioning So we have pictures from um you know all the different transitions from our fifth graders graders coming up and and seeing the the middle school our eighth graders coming uh and seeing the the high school We are welcoming our our kindergarteners If you ever want to pick me up you should go to our kindergarten uh welcoming day and and we do like a signing It is absolutely absolutely adorable Uh but a lot of transitions a lot of opportunities While it's sad to say goodbye to students uh it is also an exciting opportunity while we welcome welcome uh the students in these transition years And then our senior stroll uh the high school administration administration working so closely with the AL principles uh have really set up a wonderful

tradition the last couple years where our seniors have an opportunity to go back to the elementary school uh stroll through the buildings see their former teachers uh and then also have some opportunity I'm glad we left off the pictures I saw saw many pictures of the kids playing on the playgrounds Uh I can't tell you how many of our seniors went back to their elementary school and were seniors went back to their elementary school and were sliding down slides uh uh swinging on swings and what was really cool was they were playing with a lot of the students at those buildings Uh we invite the parents uh to come and join the seniors outside at their elementary building and it really becomes a nice moment Uh you know those are such formative formative years those

elementary years and tomorrow we really do have a celebration K to 12 uh when we celebrate uh those graduates it's really a celebration K to 12 uh when that we come together tomorrow and then commencement so June 10th tomorrow 400 pm uh we're so excited for the class of uh 2026 and then I think that concludes my that does conclude I have I have no upcoming events that's that's a relief our next Next meeting will be August That concludes my remarks for this evening. Yes thank you And I will turn it over over to I think Dr McNamer if you want to start with some of the retirees from the high school Yeah that's fine Okay Jesus Good evening everybody So I am McNam I'm the high school principal and it is such an honor to be up here to share the retirees that I have here in the the building And the first one I would like to share is Mr Chip

Horner Chip come come on up buddy Tonight we recognize Mr Chip her for his retirement from the Rner High School and the Radner Township School District and we thank him for his career and his defined dedication and deep commitment to our students Now one thing you must know about Chip is that uh he has an impressive number of preps And by preps that means the number of of classes he teaches Uh whether it be uh he teaches in business and he teaches on the fizz ed side So whether he's doing personal finance weight training or what he's doing with swim he has an impressive number of preps So much so that when we posted Chip's position it was was like finding a unicorn And we knew this coming in We're like who how are we

going to replace Chip You know this is just something we don't know how And Chip it's a a testament to the number of kids that you have impacted at the high school You have gone far above and beyond for our kids and you are sorely going going to be missed Over the years CHIP has taught an impressive number of courses across both again again business impressive number of courses across both again again business and fizzed That range speaks not only to his adaptability but also to his willingness to step in in whenever he is needed most Whether it be in the classroom uh the gym or in the pool because because CHIP is a certified CPR as well as he's he's our pool person Whenever we need someone to do a swim test or do

anything with the pool we're like "We need you." You know and Chipp Chipp was always willing to come and be in the pool to help us out Chip brought a steady presence and a strong work ethic and focus on helping students succeed In the business classes he helps students build practical skills and serve them well beyond high school In physical education he emphasized teamwork perseverance and personal growth No No matter the setting Chip created an environment that was focused on ethics and a focus on helping kids always succeed What stands out most is not just the number of of classes he taught and I say that jokingly but the countless students he's connected with and you've connected with along the years Chip created an an environment students felt supported challenged and encouraged to always do

their best challenged and encouraged to always do their best Chev thank you for your years of service at Rner High School and for your your flexibility and commitment and having a positive impact Thank you for always stepping up and being there when we needed you Thank you for our kids kids and for who you've supported in these years And Chip's dedication by the way uh when he retired uh which was January correct Chip it was January Yeah, Chip immediately started going into subbing Okay Not only for Rner but he went back to to Plymouth White Marsh and to several other schools to see where they were I I shared with Chip that if I'm retiring on my first day of retirement I'm going to be fishing okay And I'm going to be sleeping in This

guy gets right up and gets right back into the classroom That just shows the dedication and ship We thank you so much for your years of of service. So blessed to have this career Thank you so much I appreciate it All right Next I'd like to call up Mr Ed Ruby Ruby Over the years Ed has been a a constant at Rner High School and one of the most dedicated social studies teachers that I've ever met As a colleague mentioned during our retirement lunch lunch in yesterday uh we honored our our retirees yesterday with lunch at the end of the school year Ed has switched careers Ed was not not originally a teacher in the classroom but we knew your calling and you decided to come over to this world and help our young people

Our young people people thrived under you and we thank you so much The number oops the number of positives that I heard of Ed Ed and the students and the parents that he impacted over his years are second second to none He is a dedicated individual and he's committed to our students His commitment to students extends far beyond the classroom He also um was someone that was constantly on our sidelines helping out being at games coaching our softball Chip did a a fabulous job working with our young girl softball Chip did a a fabulous job working with our young girl our girls on the team and helping them grow as softball players And I always remember the first time I met Ed it it was in 2020 It was during the pandemic And we all

have masks on I shared this at the retirement lunchon yesterday that Ed was explaining to me prevost I called it ankle ankle field by the way when I first got here And Ed was the first one to say "Uh hey listen Dr Mack it's not ankle it's Anky." And I was like "Oh I'm sorry Ed Thank you so much It was right during construction and and it was just at that time he says "Let me let me share with you a little bit about our sports programming we do here after after school Ed's impact has especially been meaningful throughout his work in the classroom It is is fitting that Ed was recently recognized uh at our last ceremony for our Memorial Day uh when we honored Ed as the Educator Impact Award Award recipients uh

that he was honored with And when I say the number of applause our when I mentioned Ed Ruby as being the the recipient and the winner the entire auditori the entire entire gymnasium just lit up with applause Kids were on their feet standing It was such a sight I was even taken back and I wasn't even the one winning you know And Ed that is his role and and we have to thank you so much for that His legacy is not just in the classroom but in relationships He has built the teams he has supported the the countless moments where he showed up for students when it mattered most It lives on in his colleagues who have learned from his professionalism and dedication always always someone that is so positive so incredibly thoughtful for our

our kids for our staff He was the voice of reason in our building and that will never be forgotten While we are are excited for Ed to be this new chapter there is no question that he will be deeply missed I don't think Ed is subbing much like Chip Okay I think I think Ed is going to take some some He's going to take some time you know next school year it means that our last day is tomorrow Uh but your dedication and commitment is is very much appreciated from our students our staff and the entire Rner High School community Congratulations Thank you Oh here you are Got it And finally I'd like to welcome Miss Kathy Pearol Pearol Pearol It is a truly special moment as we recognize and celebrate the extraordinary career one

that has spanned for five five decades I mentioned to Kathy at the retirement lunchon yesterday I I wasn't sure what to say How do you take someone who has been in any profession for 50 some odd years and start off with the level of of impact that you've had on our kids on our parents on our community I truly don't know where to start And I I truly mean that And I struggled when I when when when even with the lunchon yesterday 51 actually correct 50 51 and a2 51 and a half year Who's counting coming through here Kathy had a wonderful idea that at the lunchon he he invited former superintendent of schools Dr Crosby to come through and and provide a few few words and I said that's a great idea Kathy Dr

Crosby in 1976 was the the superintendent who hired Kathy and he came so willingly yesterday yesterday to close that circle which was so moving and so touching to see the person that hired Kathy and then to be the person to say say congratulations you've made it 51 years in education is not just a number It represents generations of students countless English lessons taught relationships built and the lives impacted in the ways that are impossible to fully measure Kathy has been a constant at Rner Rner High School a steady dedication presence and given her name and her experience the heart of our our school not to mention the number of letters of recommendations that Kathy has written over the years Every time I'm like Kathy What are you doing I'm writing letters of recommendations I'm like

holy smokes To think what it was in one year given 51 years Dr Crosby yesterday says he has thousands of memoirs on his teachers or that he's written I can't even imagine the number of letters of recommendation you have written written for our kids who have gone far beyond Thank you In addition to to her work in the classroom Kathy's impact has been especially profound through her 21 years of commitment to student government Now those are also pretty big shoes to to fill Kathy has run our student government for the last 21 years and has embodied the traditions of the high school Radner High School School in our students The events traditions and leadership opportunities that define RNE High School today have been influenced by you Kathy Your guidance to our kids it has lived

on And that that is not going to be forgotten Think about the changes very quickly in education since 1976 I don't know and and admittedly I I was not born then so I I'm sorry. Now that's just just unnecessary. I'm sorry I just I had to put it out there But in 1976 the technology that Kathy came into into with typewriting and and other things and thank you all all all of that to now we're in the age age of AI We're in the age of computers that can take us far beyond what we knew in 1976 You have seen everything and now now you're retiring and that has something to say with that. Though all of it Kathy has has remained committed to matters most supporting students challenging them to grow and helping them

find confidence in themselves The kind of consistency consistency and care is rare and sometimes it can't be find found but you have found it in your teaching. Her legacy is not just in the the classroom but for the teaching. Her legacy is not just in the the classroom but for the thousands of students who have walked in the halls to there and they are better because of what Kathy has done as a teacher and it lives in the culture of our school and all of our teachers know it What other person has the the has the years that you have put in at that school two of you and I will tell you it is not unnoticed and the families that know that you are retiring they miss you and you will be sorely missed

while we're excited for Kathy to begin her next chapter there's no question that she will be missed and we cannot replace 51 years Congratulations Congratulations Okay I'm just getting sick. Oh sure. I just have a few things to say I thought that um Hold the microphone this way Okay I thought that um um after half a century it would be nice to make some remarks of thanks So I'll I'll do it now It's not too too long Um first I wanted to thank We're going to make Mr Ruby and Mr Warner come up after so it's perfect So you guys just prepare. Okay Uh Uh um first Joan McNamera wherever you are right now Okay Thank you Thank you Mac Um for all the kind words you've said over the past past few days thank

you for letting me know how much you've appreciated my work and contributions to the school I've sincerely sincerely felt your respect Thank you And Ken you are one of the three superintendent I've appreciated the most over this past half half century Dr Crosby as you know as um Joe Joe Magnamera just explained was the superintendent who hired me and we had a wonderful full circle moment yesterday back at the high school with him Uh John De Flaminus I've always appreciated John especially because he kept the district on such a high level during the years my children were were students here So I've during the years my children were were students here So I've always thanked John John for that And now you can you've always supported my efforts I see the joy you bring to

our school community community as you continue to keep us leading the way in so many areas I thank you for for choosing Rner for your superintendence era and for your grace and kindness We are lucky to have you as our leader Thank Thank you And the school board All right Now I know a couple of people are not here but I will read what I prepared and hope they will see the message message uh since it's recorded I've had the distinct privilege of teaching the children children of many of you You've clearly instilled in them the same passion for education and learning that you you brought to our board I feel so fortunate to have gotten to know them in various various capacities Lydia I remember a senior year with Claire as she was your

youngest to to launch from our K Susan I shall never forget Kevin Kevin and his photographic memory for finding the pages of specific moments in the complex plot of Station 11 The class turned to him all the time for help and I still tell the kids about him Lon I remember Audrey in in AP Lit and of course the joy your son brought to the school on the basketball team We followed faithfully the the a few years ago DJ I didn't teach Charlie but I loved watching him on that basketball team too Sarah's not here but uh here is my comment Ah Jackie I enjoyed her so much this year We had many conversations about life life when we would run into each other early in the morning many days Her literature projects impressed us

all She loves loves to learn and exudes contagious enthusiasm for books Liz three of your four working with Anna and PJ in in student government showed me how leadership was a natural part of their makeup Reliable trustworthy a natural part of their makeup Reliable trustworthy responsible I loved seeing them take charge It's also been a joy to teach John for two years in my AP classes and I would like to take a little credit credit for the appreciation of literature that I saw emerge And Claire oh my all four girtens How could I ever have been so lucky Well I appreciated every one of them for their English class achievement I loved even sharing the extracurricular extracurricular activities with them and ultimately my connection to your family in our love for Gettysburg and Muenberg colleges

And finally I have to recognize the people in the back of the room who are so eager for more of my time So my husband Jeff is back there there and one of my daughters Caroline who lives down the street from me in Wayne She has has three children Two are in Wayne Elementary Vivian is in third grade for one more day Genevieve is in kindergarten for one more day And Levi Levi is too He will eventually go to Wayne My other daughter and her husband live in Hadenfield and My other daughter and her husband live in Hadenfield and it was a little hard to come over with with two babies at this time of night So I will miss teaching but I'm not going anywhere As you can tell I live here and love

the community So thank you all for the opportunity to spend my life here Thank you you So next we'll invite Dr Young up to speak to some of the retirees in uh at Bratner Elementary School And I'd like to also I I I was partially joking but in all seriousness all the retirees are also welcome to say anything as well So we'd welcome it I'm a little nervous following that So I appreciate your grace Um I have the honor to to celebrate Miss Teresa Weir So I'm gonna ask her to come up here and see me me me Thank you Um I am proud to celebrate this extraordinary woman 39 years of service 31 here at RER Township School District just dedicated and that love for children children that you spoke of Uh when we

hear 39 years 50 52 it's easy to think of a simple number but But kindergarten teachers know better than anyone that numbers tell really beautiful stories Over 39 years she has welcomed children into her classroom Nearly a a thousand children she has encountered and taken care of They've walked through her classroom doors carrying backpacks that were often bigger than they they were along with nervous smiles missing teeth untied shoes endless questions and hearts full of possibility She was there for the first day tears and the first day triumphs for the parents too She taught children how how to hold pencils how to write their names how to share how to take turns how to be a friend how to solve problems how to believe in themselves and how to navigate a a bathroom either in

a Halloween themselves and how to navigate a a bathroom either in a Halloween costume uh or that wonderful outfit that their parents so meticulously picked out for the very first day of kindergarten Uh she didn't just impact children though For nearly four decades she welcomed and reassured countless families who arrived with equal measures of excitement and worry hopes and dreams trusting her with the most precious people in their lives For many families she was the very first face of education in our district She set the tone for what school could be a a place of joy a place of growth a place of warmth a place of possibility Over 39 years she has also worked alongside countless colleagues of them are here here today She witnessed changing standards new initiatives new curricula new assessments and

involving involving expectations She did so with grace She witnessed and helped shape the most significant transformation in Rner Township School District a full day kindergarten She advocated for what children need most not just academics but play creativity friendship independence opportunities to develop as whole beautiful human human beings She championed written expression helping young learners discover discover their thoughts and stories and that they matter She understand learning to write is is really learning to share your voice in a very special and powerful way And somewhere along the way she also survived at least four four principles As one of those principles I can assure you that educators often spend a great deal of time supporting children families colleagues but often administrators who arrive with their own visions questions priorities assumptions requests Though Though every leadership transition

she remained a steady presence for students and families always keeping her focus where it belonged our children What makes kindergarten extra special and and truly very resilient is that they often never get to see the full story but they do write that very first chapter the the confidence to walk into a classroom the courage to make a friend the pride of writing a sentence the joy of learning something new Those moments become part of who our children children are long after they leave kindergarten So today we celebrate not just a remarkable career but a remarkable legacy Thank you for your your 31 years here your 31 nine years of Thank you for your your 31 years here your 31 nine years of service and your patience kindness creativity and dedication and your love for children

Thank you you for you There's a gift for you Thank you. All right And now I have the privilege to welcome Oh did you wanna Miss Michelle Williams you can can come up I'm still very very nervous Um it is my privilege to recognize Michelle tonight as she retires 31 years here in the district 406 4 an extraordinary career in education As principal I appreciate many things about Michelle I appreciate her deep love for for music education for children I appreciate her perseverance through decades of change in education I appreciate the way she she continued to evolve as an educator while remaining true to what mattered most creative meaningful musical experiences mattered most creative meaningful musical experiences for our children When I I arrived at Rner Elementary School I entered a building with a rich

history strong trai traditions and people who had invested years of their lives into making a schoolable Michelle showed patience as I learned the culture of the building helped me understand the traditions that matter and always kept students at the center of our work And for that I am deeply deeply grateful Uh one of the things I have learned is that as principal uh teachers often are much better than administrators at at truly capturing the heart of what makes another teacher special So rather than continue with my own words I'd like to take this moment moment to share a tribute that our fourth grade team presented at Michelle's final chorus concert of the year A tribute that beautifully ref reflects act act Michelle has on the school community Margaret's words now Okay These are written by

our our fourth grade team and I thank Margaret Robertson for allowing me to share them It's hard to believe it's the final curtain call for our beloved Mrs Williams The fourth grade team has hard had the honor to work with her since our doors opened in 2001 And we watched and listened as she helped to fill this stage 2001 And we watched and listened as she helped to fill this stage and the entire building of rest with the most beautiful beautiful voices and musical instruments She orchestrated harmonies solos choreographed dances including showstoppers like black lights and flash And she seamlessly assembled Beatles and Beach Boys and medleys alike Miss Williams has dedicated dedicated her life her heart and soul to the students here at Rner Elementary School And it was just so fitting that night

that she chose Sansa Chroma Chroma to be included in the evening performance As mentioned it's a song symbolizing symbolizing communal care assuring that no child is ever truly alone It emphasizes the principle of our communal response to one another And Mrs Williams has lived by this principle creating a community of talented musicians where all have a place on the stage Mrs Miss Williams your legacy and energy will always live in in the memories and experiences you created I think we can all feel the love tonight You will be missed Thank Thank They've also informed me neither will be be Uh before we move on does do any of the retirees wish to share any remarks remarks and no pressure but just want to make sure we provide that opportunity Okay Well thank you all again

very much Uh Uh we're going to move right into our uh next a Oh so sorry Yes of course. Um first of of all how extraordinary to be part of an evening like this where we um recognize so many um amazing careers and um my my personal best wish is to to all the retirees Um I'm so impressed with um your careers and all that you've done over the years Um shout out to Mr Ruby Thanks for your your help with Laura Um that means a lot to her And I also would be remiss if I didn't take a minute to say to I also would be remiss if I didn't take a minute to say to Kathy Pearol Pearol um how lucky we are to have had you in our our lives We do

have four children that graduated from RER High School spanning the years 2013 to 2024 11 years Each one of them four of them says that they're the best writer in the family Well we can we we can draw a direct line to where that um bragging comes from Um Um we have been forever changed by your impact um for our four kids and for this whole school district And we're going to miss you terribly but we we know you're not far And um we're really happy for your family that you're going to get that they're going to get your you know undivided attention So my best to all of you you So I always find um the retirement night to be bittersweet because there are there's such a wealth of just knowledge and experience experience

and true um Rner institutions that are walking out the door on this um Rner institutions that are walking out the door on this night And so I'm always always in awe when we put together the total numbers of how many years 355 years of of experience with this group of retirees So how fortunate is Rner to have have people of caliber and so dedicated to our children in education Um Um I can't put into words how I appreciate it the students appreciate it and the community appreciates all of you When I I saw Miss Pearol with 50 years I thought it was a misprint I thought it must be 30 She couldn't So that that's just remarkable And I I've known known your family and you're lucky to have more of her time and it's

you can't be all places at once Radner would would love to have more of your time too But it's time for your grandkids to enjoy what you can offer And Miss Williams Michelle Williams So her plays at the Rner Elementary School it is truly an institution there It It is one one of the most marvelous things about Rner Elementary And I I know that it's from your heart and your creativity that that those were such a success all those years My kids all three of them were were in those shows I think the name was Freedom Ba the first year of RER Elementary and they dressed like like immigrants I I remember them all walking down Dillia was one of the immigrants And then two years later we did Cinderella Cinderella and Natalie was a

scarecrow And I'm telling you my kids are in their 30s and I can remember what parts they had in those plays That's how awesome awesome those plays were And then we were just talking tonight about Claire She was the godmother in Cinderella and you spread out her her feet She has this ability to do that And the whole um audience cracked up I I didn't know she was going to do that But but again your up I I didn't know she was going to do that But but again your creativity and just brought the best out of all the students So So again it's bittersweet for us to say goodbye to all of you and um but just our heartfelt thank you from everyone everyone in Rner Rner Is there anyone else I I'd just

say thank thank you very much to Mrs Purol Um the care and keeping um that you gave to my youngest youngest will forever be uh in my heart So thank you All right we're going to move into public comment Uh this is and I think for the retirees I think one of the public comments might be directed at some of the retirees so I'm not positive but then you can all all leave too I just wanted to let you know Go ahead. Uh at this point in the pardon At this point in the meeting we provide an opportunity for any would like to make make uh public part uh comment following our policy Is there anyone here in the office in the audience who would like to make make comment Okay Welcome Miss Miss McN.

Good evening My I don't know I should I stand I'm gonna stand back here Is that okay if I stand stand back here Good evening My name is Amy McN and I am the president of Rner Township Education Education Association um our union And I'm here here to just address briefly our wonderful wonderful retire So for those of you who don't know the role of a union is to advocate for our our members and also for our students Um and the reason we do that is so that we can keep keep attracting the best and the brightest to our very extraordinary school district And the people people who are here tonight and those who could not make it they are and I'm sure you heard it tonight the best and the brightest So from Rner

High High School Dave Wood Chip Her Ed Ruby Kathy Pearol from Rner Middle School Tom Randelich Randelich from Wayne Elementary School An Nissa Brin and Rner Elementary School Teresa Weir and Michelle Williams As you heard tonight H these individuals have made an incredible impact on countless students and that is is immeasurable But what many of of you may not know is they've also dedicated their passion their time their determination to our association to advocating for our members members and to advocate for students In that list of people we have a former president we have former officers building representatives executive council representatives sick bank representatives committee heads and you have people sitting sitting before you who have taken their time to write to legislator legislators on behalf of our students and behalf of teachers and educational

ational professionals people who have taken the time to communicate with their administrators the needs of our students and the needs of our ad of our members Um and most most importantly they have celebrated and supported each other and our members People like this are the backbone of our our organization And it's like Miss Solomon said it's bittersweet It really is Um but fortunately we have have retired um PSCA membership as well So hopefully you don't go too far and we get to see you again And on behalf of RTA all all 315 members I wish you joy and happiness as you begin your new adventure Thank for everything you've done done Uh do we have any reported recorded public comment Yes Okay Imagine I'm I'm designing a brand new family vehicle I spend months planning

it I choose a safe design a reliable engine and all the required safety features I tell tell everyone don't worry I've already planned carefully I'll follow all recommended safety procedures Inspect the vehicle every two weeks Inspect the vehicle every two weeks for conditions conditions closely and do everything I can to prevent problems before they happen Those are all good things Now let's say say there are two versions of the vehicle available One comes with standard brakes Let's call those brake nerve 10 The other comes with a more advanced advanced braking system Let's call those brakes MV 13 I decided to buy the version that can only accommodate the standard standard brake Bar is still safe still meets requirements but I know there is a a higher level of protection available that the coal wasn't designed

to use Then someone asked "What about seat belts and and airbags?" And I respond "I don't think we need those My plan is to follow all safety procedures inspect a vehicle every every two weeks and monitor conditions as I go If I ever think I need seat belts or an airbag I can always take the car to the shop shop and have them installed within an hour I think most people would ask why he wouldn't use an hour I think most people would ask why he wouldn't use an additional layer of protection protection when children are already riding in the car The fact that I I can add an airbag later doesn't really answer the question of why I wouldn't want them there from the start when my family is already riding in the car

To me that's similar to the discussion we are having about air quality I appreciate the district's efforts to monitoring water trucks death control measures environmental oversight and construction planning are all positive steps I also understand that the existing HVAC system is limited to MV 10 filtration filtration and cannot accommodate MV 13 filtration which would provide greater filtration of of smaller particles including some of the dust in airborne particles that can be present around an active construction site That's why I continue to to ask about portable HEPA air purifiers and air scrubbers They are the teacups and airbags in this analogy The existing existing HVAC system is the vehicle we already have The district has explained that it is limited to Mer filtration Portable hea air and air air scrubbers are one of the filtration Portable

hea air and air air scrubbers are one of the few additional protections that can be added without rebuilding the vehicle itself They are not a a replacement for prevention They are an additional layer of protection Taking steps to prevent a problem doesn't doesn't automatically eliminate the value of additional protections My position has never been that the district district is doing nothing My position is that the district is doing many good things already and when children and staff are are occupying next to a major construction project I believe believe layered protection is worth considering We don't add layers of protection because we expect problems We add them because we recognize recognize that even with good planning and good intentions conditions aren't always predictable The goal isn't to assume something will go go wrong The goal is

to provide multiple layers of protection because the people we are protecting are are children Thank you you Hi good evening This is Liz Duffy St David PA Um this is a night that I wish I could be in two places at once I'm missing missing tonight's board meeting because my son who's a senior is playing in the state semi-final lacrosse game tonight Um and while I I hope they live to see another day and make it to the final game at Penn State on Saturday Um regardless of the outcome tonight it's been a fun ride So go Rner Um the graduation of my youngest tomorrow marks the end of a 26-year run for the the Duffies at a Razner School And I'm calling in in to express my family's just profound gratitude for all the

teachers administrators and staff in this this district Um you are at the heart of what makes this school district so special to us I know that the field of of education isn't always easy but us I know that the field of of education isn't always easy but my family and I believe so many others in this community are so thankful thankful that talented people like yourselves choose choose the profession that you did Um you truly make a difference in the lives of our kids I know um um each of mine felt a sense of belonging within the Rner School walls They grew academically in the classroom and were truly truly prepared for the next step at graduation I'm sad to not be there tonight tonight um for the retirees It's always bittersweet but I love

hearing the principles talk about your career career and the impact made Lucky for me I have personally experienced that impact for each each of the five attending tonight Um Miss Miss Weir and Miss Williams what what can I say You are REF legends Um Miss Mr Ruby Mr her and Miss Pierol Together you you represent 93.5 93.5 years commitment to the students of Rner and Miss is 50 years I think you're you're pulling more than your fair share I just want to say I just think that kind of tenure is just truly remarkable and um I want to thank you for your your service We are sad sad to see you go but wish you just welldeserved RNR and all the best in your retirement year Thanks again to all take care. Two two public

comments Okay Could we be sure to email that um voicemail message to the retirees The one from Miss Duffy That would be great Thank Thank you very much Um before we continue I just want to report the board also met on May 26th after the board meeting to conduct the first part of the superintendent uh evaluation If we we can add that to the record Miss Closeman All righty We're going to move into report from board committees Up first is the curriculum committee Miss Girtton. Yes thank you Uh the curriculum committee met on June 2nd at 5:00 in the admin building We started our meeting by recognizing our student liaison Jackson Discin who has by recognizing our student liaison Jackson Discin who has been a terrific addition to our committee committee this school year Uh

we re we reviewed three overnight student trips for approval as well as several proposed textbooks textbook and and textbook editions We also reviewed the new virtual learning platform Edum that the district will be contracting with starting in September The The proposed 2627 school calendar was presented and reviewed and is on tonight's agenda for our approval Uh Dr Fston Dr Young and Dr Kierney updated the curriculum committee on the district's social em emotional learning audit Um and we had a good discussion around that And then finally Miss Miss Naen Carol our RTSD Karen Foundation liaison provided us with a comprehensive overview of the PA youth survey taken by 6th 8th 10th and 12th graders every two years in the fall And we learned a lot um about you know the results of that survey and keeping

us us informed Our next meeting will be on Tuesday August 18th in the admin building and looking forward to having a a good summer Thank you Thank you Uh next is facilities committee Miss Rosen Bloom. Yes Facilities last met on Tuesday June 2nd We started by thanking and recognizing our student rep um Kristen A Champong for her thoughtful positive contribution and and volunteer work for the facilities committee We discussed the credit for the EEN temp HVAC project and also the application for for the DCED public school facility improvement grant both up for board approval tonight And we were presented by Mr Ken Morris on our first Ien construction update which is off to a great start Our next meeting meeting is planned for August Thank you. Thank you U Miss Laauo is not able to

be here this evening So I have a policy committee report We met on Tuesday June 2nd And we also recognized our student Um and we have on tonight's agenda six six policies for a second read including one retirement of a policy And our next committee meeting is is tenatively scheduled for Tuesday August 18th the time to be determined All righty Uh Tuesday August 18th the time to be determined All righty Uh before I take a motion on the consent agenda Does anyone want to pull any items from consent No Okay great So although board action is required it is generally unnecessary to hold discussion on items with the consent of all all board members They are therefore grouped and approval is given in one motion In the event a board member wants to discuss the

item the board president president will pull it Uh we have consent agenda items 9.01 through 14.0 Do we have a motion to approve? So moved. And a second. Second Second from Miss Rosen Bloom All any discussion No All those in favor. The consent agenda passes six to zero Thank you And we will move right into uh let's see uh reports from board liaison We have a report from the dcccc dcccc tonight. Yes. Okay. So unfortunately our liaison committee meeting for May was was cancelled Um basically due to resp to no low response from the the liaison from the other school districts But um we did receive a report report from the administrators at the college And so I'm just going to highlight a few things that have occurred there in the last last month They

assigned eight new members to their education education foundation Uh they host an event for international students students to help make them welcome and make connections at the college Uh the community college hosted a career career development event where 46 employers were invited and um met with students They They also hosted a transfer fair for 23 of their transfer agreement partners And again these are programs or colleges local universities and colleges that will accept the two years that a student does at the community college and the student can then in program under the status of a junior and graduate from those specific programs if they have certain grades and have taken certain courses at the community college So it's a way to get a four-year degree by basically paying for two years at a university and

then going to the community college college for two years Um and really that's um those are the highlights from um what's happening to community community college last month. Thank you The DCIU. Hi Thank you So the DCIU continues to close up the school year Um we have recently just elected new board board president Ken Dez from Rose Street Media and Wadia Ivory from William Penn as a president and vice president The next DCIU meeting is actually tomorrow but I will not make it because I will be at Rader's graduation. Great Thank you Mr Thornton Um I believe the Delaware County School School Board's Legislative Council is Miss Dunn and she's not here tonight So our final one is uh PSBA which I believe is Miss Laauo and she is is also not here All righty

So for we will move right into board announcements As I mentioned earlier the next round round of committee meetings are currently scheduled for Tuesday round of committee meetings are currently scheduled for Tuesday August 18th beginning at 5:00 p.m in the ground floor of conference room of the RER Township School District Administration Administration building And our next regular business meeting will be on Tuesday August 25th at 7:00 p.m here in the Rersshshire room of the RER Township School District I mean uh RER Township Municipal Building Uh do we have any public comment in the the audience Okay seeing none I will accept a motion to adjurnn So move
