Yeah. And that's it. Picture is fine. Yeah. >> Yeah. But they're always in the office this time of year. >> Well, they have to be back, I think, the Wednesday for the deal. >> Yeah. >> Oh, they got to be back the >> That is pretty close when it is, isn't it? Yeah, it's usually the Wednesday before. >> So, in like two weeks like a cup of coffee, Kevin, sorry. >> That sounds amazing. Okay, I need to get on the river. I figured those were like not specific forms. >> Yeah, pretty simple. I don't know that it's online, but we always have I'm going to call the meeting to order. If everybody could stand for the pledge of allegiance and I'm going to have silent meditation. To the flag of the United States of America
and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. M >> here. Mrs. Good here. Mrs. Alio here. Dr. Hoffman >> here. >> Mr. Koba. Mrs. Hanley. >> Mrs. Hanley. >> Mrs. >> Mr. Yeah, come join us. >> Thank you. >> At this time, um, are there any additions to the agenda? If none, I would like to make a motion to approve the agenda. Can I have a second, please? >> Second. >> I have a second. All in favor signify by saying I. >> I. >> All oppose. Motion carries. We had executive session on April 7th from 6:00 pm to 6:22 p.m. to consult with an attorney. And there is no executive session held tonight. I have the minutes. I would like to make a motion
to approve the minutes. May I have a second? >> Second. >> You have a second. Are there any questions on the motion? All in favor signify by saying I. I. >> I. All opposed. Motion carries. At this time, I'd like to call on Mrs. Petroski to review the board goals. Thanks, Amy. RD will provide learning opportunities to meet the needs of a diverse population and a dynamic workforce. RISD will continue to build transparent and trusted relationships with all stakeholders. RD will continue to build a culture of safety and support for all students, staff, families, and the community. Thank you, M. Tr. At this time, we have no public comments. So, we will move to student of the month and extraordinary elkers. Um, I'd like to call on Mr. Heindel for uh the elementary school. >>
Thanks, Miss Kevin. Uh, it's my privilege to introduce Mr. Henry Shaver. >> Okay. So, Henry is nominated by Miss Grumley. Miss Grumley says that Henry comes to school each day with a positive attitude, ready to learn, and consistently does the right thing even when no one is watching. He is always willing to help others, whether it's running errands or supporting classmates, and is someone his teacher can always rely on. Henry takes great pride in his work and gives his best effort in everything that he does, especially in art, where he takes time to create work that he's very proud of. Outside of school, Henry stays active in flag football, okay, basketball, soccer, and enjoys hunting and spending time outdoors. I had the privilege to interview Henry last week and he told me his favorite subject
is math because he feels he's very good at it. What he likes most about school is seeing all of his friends. He shows kindness by saying nice things. Are you nice to your brother? >> His advice for other students is to try your best and always strive to be an elker. His school inspiration is all of his teachers as they are nice and always willing to help. His idea to improve school is to have better equipment in gym and in the classroom. His future goal is to be an NFL player. And his favorite memory this year so far was the AR party as Henry and Cooper were the egg toss champions. Mr. Henry Sha. All right, my man Louie, you're up. >> Fifth grader, Mr. Louie Bavlla. Louie, excuse me. Louie was nominated by Mrs.
Hording. Mrs. Hording said, "Louie is a diligent student who consistently submits high quality work on time. He demonstrates a strong work ethic in all that he does. Louie is kind and helpful towards his peers and always showing a positive attitude. Are you nice to your brother? That's good. Okay. As an elk, he serves as an excellent role models for other students. When I had the chance to interview Louie last week, he said his favorite subject is art because he likes to talk with his friends as he draws and it's fun. What he likes most about school is learning. He shows kindness by always cheering others out. His advice for other students who want to be student of the month is to work hard and never give up. His school inspiration is Mr. Fipps because he
plays a lot of instruments and Louisie himself wants to learn how to play the piano. His idea to improve FSG is to always continue to encourage others to do their best. His future goal, okay, is to be a computer programmer. And his favorite memory, I got to tell you, it's the best one of all time. Okay. In art class, he likes talking with his buddies and telling funny jokes. Mr. Louie Vll, >> thank you. >> Do you want to get a camera? >> Yeah. Mr. Hind, why don't you get in the picture with >> I'm not I might break the key. >> We have a board member. >> Come on, Adam. Let's go. >> All right. >> Make sure they're right side up. Okay, perfect. Thanks. >> So, we want to thank you for coming
because it's the best part of our evening when we hear about the um young people that are coming up. We have a lot of great young people coming up and it's very exciting. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Have a nice evening. >> Thank you. Thanks for coming. >> Thank you. >> Okay. At this time, um I'd like to call Mr. to um introduce the four extraordinary elkers. >> Okay. Mine's always aren't as fun because Mr. Hindle has all the people come in and we do videos, but um our first extra extraordinary elker from the middle school is Mariah McDermott. Um she's an eighth grade student. She's very involved in the school. She's involved in various sports. Um, one of the things that she did recently, she helped come up with a a volleyball tournament
for all of the uh, middle school kids to be involved in and it was six, seventh and eighth grade. They had various days they did those. So, um, that was really cool for kids to step forward and say, "We want to do something fun at the school and we gave them that atmosphere to do it." And so, like that was cool. She was one of the people that was really big in trying to make that work. So, um, we do have our video here and we check the sound. It should work. So, >> hi, I'm with Mariah Mcder at this month's extraordinary Ela Middle School. She is the daughter of Jason and Jennifer McDermott, and she was nominated by Mrs. Wolfanger for helping out with the volleyball tournament, even though she didn't have to because
she wasn't. >> So, can you tell us how you felt whenever we found out that you should open? >> Um, I got excited, but I knew I was going to have to get interviewed, so I was nervous. >> Well, I hope you're a little less nervous now. Um, so then can you tell us about some of your activities that you do? Um, right now I'm playing volleyball, track, and softball. >> Nice. And what are some of your achievements throughout school? >> Um, I got my first 100 on a social studies test. >> Nice. Good job on that. >> Um, tell us about your favorite teacher. >> Um, Mr. Why? >> I always have fun in his class and I like asking him questions. >> Nice. Um, and then do you have any advice for other
students in school? >> Um, don't cheat and just have fun. >> Nice. I like that advice. Um, and then last but not least, how do you stay motivated in computer? >> Um, my friends mostly help me stay on track in case I get off the budget. >> Okay. And that moves us on to our our next extraordinary elker. Um, and it's Emily Gazbury. So, um, she's a student that is a really quiet kid, but she's a kid whenever you see her, she has this infectious smile, like, and she's always so happy to see you. And so, she always goes out of her way to say hi. Um, I was very happy to hear that she was the one selected this time because she's one of those kids that you see in school and she brightens
your day. So, >> hi, I'm with Emily Gazbury, this month's extraordinary elker. Um, she's the daughter of Jessica Gazbury and she was nominated to be extraordinary author by Mrs. Grubs for just overall having a really good and positive attitude in bringing up the whole morale in the school day. Um, so how did you feel whenever you found out that you were out there? >> Uh, so when I found out I was immediately shocked. I was like, there's no way that I got to be a Jordan. I was overall just so proud of myself. >> That's nice. Um, congratulations for that. Thank you. But then getting more into you, what are some of your activities that are at school? >> Uh, so I like to help out with any activity I can at school. So if
there's like uh any after school like programs like the volleyball game, I like to help that. And then yeah, just overall good. >> And so what are some of your like accomplishments? What are you proud of? >> Um, I'm proud for making it to French. I didn't think I was going to make it that far and very bad. >> Um, who's your favorite teacher? Uh, one of my favorite teachers is probably Mrs. Grubs. She always makes French class fun. And Mrs. Johnson, she always makes art class fun and gets people motivated to do their art. That's nice. Um, and then so what do you have kind of as some advice for students? >> Some advice I have is don't change who you are. You're perfect just the way you are. >> That's I really like
that. >> Thank you. Um, and then what is something at Bridgeway High School that like you would want to see change or you think it would be better? >> I would like to see kids feel actually feel included in like some of the things that we do like I know a lot of kids don't feel included so that would be nice to see. >> Yeah, I agree. Um, and then last but not least, what are your future parents? >> So, I've been thinking about nursing for a while. So, maybe after taking maybe a year off for college for nursing that or just a 911 operator that since you're full and interesting. So, good luck with that. Thank you. >> I said she she has a smile and she has a personality that's uh unmatched. So,
very happy that she she was this was extraordinary. >> Thank you very much. Okay, this time I'd like to move forward um with board business. Um I would like just make a note that um under old business that our business manager and one of our board members is at a hearing tonight um for the solar installation that we do have as part of our budget um meeting or our budget proposal. So hopefully that goes well. We've had a lot of in-depth discussion about that and the board um really looked at all of our options, but giving given our budget situation, we feel that we have to take um every measure possible to secure the financial viability of the district. And this is one of the ways that doesn't take away from student education um but
allows us to save some money. We have the intermediate nine report um attached. Those minutes are attached for your review. The last meeting was held March 16th. We have a board vacancy. I would like to move that the Ridgeway Area School Board recognize Janna Holtz for 18 years of dedicated service as a board member and accept her resignation from the board effective immediately with regret. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> We have a second. Um, roll call vote, please. >> Mrs. Good. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Alio? Yes. >> Mr. Clman? >> Yes. Mrs. Hanley. >> Yes. Mrs. Lowry. >> Yes. >> Miss Kick. >> Yes. >> Motion carries. >> Motion carried. Um, I would like to move that the Ridgeway Area School Board elect Matt Frank as a newly appointed board member effective
immediately. Do I have a second on the motion? >> Second. We have a second. Could I have a roll call vote, please? Mrs. Alio, yes. >> Dr. Hoffman, >> yes. >> Mrs. Hanley? >> Yes. >> Mrs. Lowry? >> Yes. Mrs. Good. >> Yes. >> Miss Kevin, >> yes. >> Motion carries. I'd like to congratulate Matt Matt Frank. Um, we're gonna get Matt sworn in. >> We're going to pause our meeting for just one second. >> We are going to pause the meeting for a minute. Um, I just did want to note that the board did have extensive conversation about filling this vacancy and many different ideas were tossed around, but we ultimately felt because we have done this in the past that people that run for um a position and aren't um elected that we
try to give them some prior consideration since they did go through all the effort and showed a lot of interest in being on a school work. You should not be Maybe a I'll just go for a Thank you. >> We'd like to um say a special thank you to Lexi of North Central Notary that she made an effort to come in so that we could um expedite this position. So, thank you, Lexi. You're welcome. >> Okay. At this time, I'd like to call on Mr. Heindel for the um board report. >> Thank you, Mr. Kevin. Uh in addition to the board report, which is posted on board docs, uh just a couple things I want to highlight. FSG just recently uh participated in the Love Math Challenge uh throughout the IU. And the goal is
to solve as many math problems as you can and compete against schools across the entire IU, which composed of 26 high schools and elementary schools. Um over that time frame, FSG completed 32,82 math problems. Um they took seventh out of the 26 schools that participated and they took fourth out of the 12 eligible elementary schools and I thought that was a really positive thing especially for FSG. Um PSSA testing will begin next week. I just want to highlight our students and teachers. They've been working very hard to prepare for these exams. Um the kickoff assembly for this is this coming Monday. Um the teachers planned a theme and a snack every day that would accompany the testing and it's culminated with a glow party. So if you have nothing to do on May 1st, come
on up for the globe party uh to join all our efforts at FSG. And lastly, I just want to highlight our maintenance staff um with the rough winter. Recess is a big thing up here and to see how they cleaned everything up out back so our kids were able to use the parking lot and the playground that's a big testament to them and I just want to thank our maintenance staff. >> Anybody have any questions? >> That's great to hear. >> Thank you, >> Mr. Powski. >> Um I also have my uh letter on on board docs as well. I just want to highlight a few things. Um, some of these things were not on the board docs, but I thought it was cool to to uh talk about uh Sarah Samarovski, which is the
one we saw on the on the um video today. She set the tied the pool vault record for this uh Ridgeway Area High School uh in her meet last week. Um that's she's excited and she wants to try to beat not only tied, she wants to beat the pull vault record. Uh we're incorporating electronic passes next school year. Um and as far instead of having a planner to move back and forth, uh we began implementing that a little bit. Teachers have started uh messing around with the program and stuff. So I have a couple teachers are using it. We had a faculty meeting today and I talked about that and it's it'll be nice to try to keep the walking around the halls in a minimum. Um that way kids aren't coming to the office
and we can't see them and that type of thing. So, it's like they have to put in an appointment to come see us and you approve it, then they can come to the office. Um, and there's a lot of really cool things about it that I'm really excited about. Um, there is a part of it that, um, we have not explored yet, but I'm also really excited about where people will scan an ID when they come in and they'll get an electronic badge, not electronic badge, a badge that we printed off from that and that's what they walk around the school with as a visitor. Um, so those are some things I'm really excited about with the electronic pass. Um, one of the coolest things we have that go that goes on at our school
is senior projects. Um, those are this this Thursday from 6:00 to 8. So, if you're looking for something to do, um, please come check it out. It's really cool to see the amount of time and effort that kids put into various projects. And last year when I attended it, I was blown away by the information that you get at it. Um, and there is actually going to be a horse coming this year. Um, so, uh, that's going to be kind of an exciting thing for people to check out, um, with one of the projects. >> Is that Maddie? >> Yeah. >> Uh, and Maddie was also our, um, Rotary student of the month this month. So, she's had a busy busy month. She's a student that's really involved um, with things here. So, Maddie McAfee
is definitely someone that she's just a great kid to be around. Um, and our last thing is our National Honor Society ceremonies scheduled for April 22nd at 7 p.m. I was um, you know, I was lucky enough to be in National Honor Society as a student. So, it's kind of cool to be now on the other side of it. The only bad thing was I was told I have to give a speech. So, um, I'm going to have to talk there. But, they said it's all written. I just have to read it. So, it shouldn't be that bad. But um so those are some things that are going on in the next few weeks that we're pretty excited about middle high school. >> Well, thank you very much. That is a lot of exciting changes
for the positive it sounds like. And I also wanted to um recognize Kaden Reeds and her presentation at Creative Cup over the weekend. It was an excellent presentation and it was very well attended. It was especially nice to see the seniors that came to support each other in that event as well. >> Yeah, she um she shared that with me and unfortunately my son had a a wrestling party at the same time so I didn't attend but I made sure I found her right away on Monday morning and she was like it was awesome. There was people standing that couldn't sit down. So that that is really cool. I was really proud of her >> highlighting all the talent that we do have here in Ridgeway. For a small town we have an awful lot
of talent. Yeah. And I I love the fact that everybody, like you you mentioned, they all support each other. Um and as a small community, that's that's something that we should all be really proud of. You don't have that everywhere. >> That's right. Thank Thank you very much. And um I guess I should also recognize all the hard work that the teachers did to make the senior um showcase happen. That takes an incredible amount of work, not just on the students part, but also for the teachers and the staff at the high school to get that all set up and to make that happen. So, we do appreciate that. >> Yeah, our our shout does a lot with that. And um I equate it to like the middle school teachers that have the pressure of
the PSSAs. She has that pressure all year of building up to this moment. and um she does a great job keeping you do just it's it's amazing. So if you have a chance to see it, yeah, >> it's really awesome. >> Thank you very much. And at this time I'd like to call on Mrs. Heindel for the um office of student service report. >> Thank you. So last month was Down syndrome awareness month and April of course is autism the awareness month. So, um, this month, um, I had teachers in each building that decided to do, um, a clothing order just for staff. It was not for a fundraiser. So, as a district, they they wanted to wear the, um, t-shirts on this coming Friday. Um, and it's kind of we're just going to celebrate
our autism awareness day this coming Friday as a district um, to celebrate that. Um, this wasn't in my report, but I'm just going to give a shout out to her here. So Nikki Gilbo, I don't know if you guys saw it here on Facebook, um she has a student within our district and she wanted to do a fundraiser for our autistic support classroom and she had a um mini picture session at her house up on on Dewey Circle and the they Rachel came and took pictures for any of the parents of autistic children that wanted to have their pictures taken and they just had to give a donation. So today she gave me $300 for a donation, you know, that she did just just because. So I thought that was very nice. Um, our special
education plan is in it under policies. Where's it at? >> So the special ed plan is is attached in there tonight. It is many pages long. It's very difficult to read and follow. It's the way that the program spits spits it out. Um, but it is for this June of 26 and through 2029. So once it passes through here today, Noel will sign it. Amy Pemik will have to sign it and then I have to upload it and submit it through at least Noel and I will submit it through in our in our system. So, and then it has to be there before May 1st and then they approve it and if there's any changes they'll send it back to us. Um, but that is in there as well. Um, tomorrow is a sophomore transition
day for students who have a disability. Um, what that looks like is it could be a student who has an IEP, a student who has a 504 plan. Um, Mr. Brett Lasco from the IU comes in. He's a TAC consultant there. He's the transition coordinator for the IU. and he comes in um I'm there uh the student's case manager is there, parents are there and of course the student and it's about a 30 minute meeting and they talk all about um jobs for the future areas that you know they would be good at if they should just go to employment agencies such as um OBR the office of vocational rehabilitation will be there um for some of the lower students Cameron and El behavioral developmental programs will be there so it's just kind of a
nice day to um get those kids thinking about their future. Um Mr. Brett Lasco does a nice write up and then we incorporate it in the students program. So that is tomorrow. We have about 10 of those meetings scheduled for tomorrow. Um gifted screenings are going on. U Mrs. Goodman is doing those for us right now. Um she's coming in Friday to try to finish up the third graders. So, for those of you that are not aware, we do all of the third graders in the district are screened for possible entry into our gifted program. Um, we have about 40 students that she's looking at because we've already tested the rest of the students IQs through um the current special ed students we have, current gifted kids and and whatnot. So, she will be working
on finishing that up. We also offer that to St. Leo's as well because those students are residents of our district. We have two students from St. Leo's that are going to be tested as well. So, that's something else that we're working on. Um, I wanted to just touch a little bit on my par staffing assignments. Um, I I know with Mikey Sty is another parah that's that's residing. I joke in central office with the ladies over there. Time to interview again for another parah. Um, unfortunately that that is kind of the nature of of the beast. You know, it's high school diploma 1405 an hour. You know, I appreciate them while they are here. I have a lot of great parents that come in and they are here and they work to get their teaching
certificate and then they're moving on. I was lucky enough to get um two of those are current teachers here in our district and are are doing phenomenal as special ed teachers. Um but that does hurt us because, you know, two of them right now are out finishing their student teaching. He'll be back at the end of April and we're very excited to have them back. Um, you know, we have one parah out on medical leave right now and I currently do have two two open positions, but you know, the paras do come and go. I have a couple ladies who have been here for a very long time and will be here till they they retire, but it does seem to be more of the norm that that the the come and go, the eb
and flow of that is is very a quicker turnover than than in the past. um the special ed teachers have stepped up and covered some of the the areas because I've had to pull um some of my life skill pairs out of classrooms to go and support students that are in some of the more trickier regular ed areas like the students transitioning up to sixth grade for example um so that they have somebody in in those classes with them. So, you know, we make those decisions very carefully, thinking about the needs of everybody. Um, and you know, the staff that's here, they do whatever I need them to do to make sure all the kids are serviced the best the best that we're a able to, you know. So, but that that has been very
difficult. And that is what was included in there, this nice little color chart. Um, if you didn't see it in there, there are 18 pairs that we have um in our district. We currently only have 16 staffed and hired. Um, but they are broken down into different positions. Out of those 18 positions, 12 of them are onetoone positions, which means for the majority of the day, they are with one one other student. Um, so there's only a few that are out and about into other other areas of the elementary school and middle high school. Um, my special education numbers this time stayed pretty consistent. It's actually still at 175, but I did want to point out that we had four dismissals. That's how we try to keep our our numbers balanced. We had three speech
dismissals in one um learning support uh middle school student we just dismissed the other day. So, we were happy about that. Um we do have a ton of evals in process. Um the EI kids are going on as well as some other kids, you know, at the end of the year. Um some parents here see some grades and they start to panic a little bit and I get some parent referrals. So, we have 25 open evaluations right now um going on in the district. Um my 504 kids, I had one new initial, so we're up to 32. And gifted kids is remain still at 16. Um and the other numbers are pretty consistent with with before. So, does anybody have any questions? >> I do. Okay. Does the the uh resignation tonight make it three
up? >> No, that's that's one of them. On a positive note, I do have an interview scheduled next Tuesday for not his, but the other one the other position that was open. I had um an applicant come in. So, no, Mikey's would make the two. >> Yeah. >> Unfortunately, that's a problem within the It's not just exclusively. >> Yeah. We've been This is the first time that we haven't been able to find somebody to staff them all. We've had that one hanging out all all year. We've had others come and go and we've been able to fill those, but that that one position is what's been there. And then Mikey, of course, makes makes two. >> Yeah. >> Thank you very much, Mrs. Mindle. >> Um, at this time, the manager report is attached. Um,
>> okay. >> So, you can just go through the financials. Um, Mrs. the sideler is at the um hearing at the township for the solar panels project. Mrs. Petroski. Sure. I just have a my report is attached. Just a couple things I want to draw your attention to. Um in two two weeks from tonight, we'll have the kickoff for our um next comprehensive plan. On the the old one is is in in cycle. This one will be due March of next year. So, we'll kick it off this spring. Um, and as everyone knows, when I have a meeting, I try to keep it to an hour. I invite anybody that wants to participate. In your folders at the workshop, I had shared with you the letter that I had sent to all of the board
nominated people um through that. So, everyone positively responded. So, they were all going to come. Sent it out to all the teachers in case they wanted to come. Board members, you're more than welcome to come for the kickoff. Um, there's no commitment beyond that. Um though we'll do a sign up after that for committees for next fall, but this is just where we are and where we want to move forward next fall as we build that comprehensive plan. Also, as you know, we had our first act 44 announcement this since the last board meeting. Uh as as a law, we have to announce to everyone if there is a weapon in the school and only in the school that it happens. And so that's been one of those things that people why didn't we get
that message because it happened at the high school. So the middle the elementary doesn't get that message but all of the the people at the high school and the middle school will get the message. So again it's school specific to where it happens. Um and then also I just want to talk Mr. Heindel had mentioned about PSSAs. As a district we're really pushing to get all of that done this year. They're all online across the state. We of course did them last year online so it won't be new to everybody. But we're doing we're working extra hard to make sure everything is in place so that it runs a little smoother than it did last year which was why I wanted to do them online last year so that we had one year under our
belt before everybody had. So we're ready to roll. Um teachers they're all lined up. Keystones just open so we have seven weeks left of school and a lot of that is taken up with all of our testing. two weeks of PSSAs, two weeks of Keystones, two weeks of finals, and then the end of the year is here. So, um, the last thing I want to talk about is a couple legislative updates. Actually, at the last board meeting, we talked about radon testing, and there is a legislation out there to require it. I'm not sure if that's what brought it up, but we do have radon testing actually scheduled for the summer when we do our air quality and our water water quality test. We're going to have our radon tested also at that time. There's
also legislation out there about an alternative feasibility assessment for the keystone. So, we'll see we'll see how that comes out there talking about replacing and if you haven't met the Keystone requirement, you can do SAT or ACT testing that would take the place of that. As an administrator, you can't pass the Keystones. the odds of passing the SAT and the ACAT to replace it. I'm not sure that that makes a lot of sense to me, but um but that's one of the legislation pieces out there. So, we're always looking for an alternative pathway for our students. So, hopefully that they won't make those numbers so high that they're not realistic to other students. And finally, um curriculum posting. So, this was initially supposed to be posted at the beginning of this school year and now
they're trying to push it out to 2027. We have been working on curriculum as you know but the posting doesn't have to be the full curriculum. It it only will consist of the name of the course, the standards. Um at high school it will be the syllabus because we have a syllabus for the courses at the high school. Middle school and elementary it will be course description. We'll have that filled in. And then if there's any texts that accomp that's those are the pieces that need to be um posted to the website. So we're I have a document ready to go next school year. We'll just get that filled out as we go so that we'll be ready to post that when when or if that becomes um through. The last piece I just want
to talk about just to draw your attention to um the nursing piece. House Bill 2285, one certified nurse for 750 students. Angela will could probably speak to this better. That's a lot of kids for a nurse. So, um >> it's currently 1 to500. So yeah, so they want to bring it down. So just that words out there. It will still a lot of kids per part per part per part per part per part per part per part per part per part per part per partners. And then lastly, um there's legislation out there about requiring parent notification of bullying. It's I'm sure that's going to fall right in line with Title N. When you have a Title N complaint, you have to notify that. It's kind of the same process. And our Title N forms and
our bullying forms mirror each other. So, um, you know, that that would just be something if that passes that we would do at that point. And that's all I have. Any questions on anything? >> Thank you very much. >> There are no items under building and grounds. So, we'll move forward with finance. Mrs. Hanley. >> Okay. Under finance, I move the area school board approve the finance items 10 through 10 G. Second. >> Do we have a motion and a second? Is there any discussion or question on the motion? >> I I do want to thank the board for their dedication. We spent a lot of late nights here trying to um hash out this budget. It was a very tough budget to put together because we had to do some um cuts that none
of us really wanted to do, but unfortunately um the budget required it. And um I would be remiss in not thanking our business manager and our administration. I know they must have put in equally um as many hours trying to figure out how to make this work. And I guess um ultimately when you have to make hard hard decisions, nobody's 100% happy with the decision, but everybody recognizes the need to um give a little. So, I want to really appreciate everybody's dedication to helping us solve that problem, to continue with a high quality education in our district and provide everything that we possibly can for our students, but also acknowledge that our taxpayer burden has to be part of that equation as well. So, thank you everybody for for doing that. With that said, um,

Can I get everybody to fill out the ballots that are at your seat for um under finance for the item 9 operating budget before you go? Just so I have that. I have to turn those. >> So, I just want to make a note. Um the Senica Highlands intermediate unit uh the budget has to be passed two different ways. They get the vote of each board and then
they count the vote from individual board members and so they have to pass both areas and that's why we have the paper ballot. And then we also um nominate three-year terms to each board representative on the IU9 board. My name is there, but if there is somebody else that wants to take on that opportunity, I certainly would not stand in your way. What are the >> They are Monday nights usually once a month or once every other month. >> Thank you. >> Sure. >> All right. Um, so if you want to just go ahead and date and fill that out before the end of the meeting. Um, >> yes. Yes, we have some extracurricular. I have no idea David. I don't have any idea about that. >> Gymnastics did the boosters? Um um I did I I have no idea. >> So we do there isn't their rotation right now. They we have a rotation for for um uniforms and so I'm not sure why their boosters purchase uniforms.
But still they didn't have enough. >> Yeah. We would just purchase them. Yes. >> And they got they got new uniforms not long ago. So I know it wasn't their turn, >> right? So maybe they wanted different ones. I'm not sure. I I know I've ordered them uniforms in the last I think >> two years. Yeah. >> I'm not sure. >> I can check. >> Maybe you could do it and just send us an email. >> I know when they got the ones that they had ordered. Okay, at this time are there any other matters that come before the board? We have our next workshop on April 7th May 5th. Oh, sorry. Yes, it is May 5th and the regular board meeting May 12th.
