001America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Roll call. >> Mr. >> Present. >> Mr. Yutsy >> present. >> Dr. Fake >> present. >> Mr. Friend, >> I'm present. >> Mrs. Guyer, >> I'm here. >> Mr. Graiac >> here. >> Mrs. Oier is absent. >> Mr. Olsen, >> here. >> Mr. Shipley. >> Yes, [snorts] >> he's Mr. Shipley is attending uh via telephone. Um just want the public to know that we had to enter into executive session um prior to this meeting. Um also October 21st, 2025 at 6 PM for the personnel log. Um, prior to this meeting, uh, at 6 PM for the personnel log and solicitor updates, um, we also, um, reviewed, um, the evaluations of Dr. Boon, the superintendent,

002and business manager Pam Mondock. >> Citizens comments, uh, agenda items only. We have any? >> No. No. All right. Okay. Our first section is reports, superintendent information. >> Sure. Absolutely. I'll be uh quick tonight. My uh Scotty spotlight tonight kind of revolves around a thank you uh to the board members who are um spending their last board uh meeting night with us tonight. Mr. Friend, Mr. Shipley, and I know Mrs. is the reason I'm here. Um, but as uh not only the leader of the district and uh but also a parent and taxpayer in the district that has kids um living and breathing in these buildings that has seen monumental progress uh over your four years here. I want to thank you. So, um this is me saying thanks. >> I agree. Thank you. It's

003been fun. >> Thank you. >> That's all I have. Solicitor's information. >> I have no report tonight, Mr. President. >> Thank you. business manager, transportation director information. >> Uh this evening, I'd like to address I the cyber charter expenses. Right now, I have not put them on the U board memo on board docs because we haven't been making any payments, which we voted on last month. Um, what happens with the cyber charter invoices, if you do not pay them by a certain date, they automatically turn them into Pennsylvania Department of Education to have them um deducted from your basic ed subsidy and your special ed subsidy. So, those invoices that we currently have in house will be deducted from our subsidies. Uh, we will be waiting for some new invoices obviously to come. As those

004invoices come, we will be paying those in house. And then once I begin to see that information flowing through through PTE and our actual payments, then I'll start reporting on a monthly basis on our cyber charter expenditures. >> Was there any cyber charter reform in the new budget? >> Well, there is a bit. They have given us um a little bit more sub cyber charter subsidy and they also have worked on making a a little bit of an adjustment to the regular ed cyber charter costs but they have done nothing to address special eds. >> Thank you. >> And is there a grace period for the um payments to the cyber schools? >> Well, what happens Dr. If I like I said like I stated, you'll see the invoice date and then right on the

005invoice date right under that it says date to be turned over to PTE. So since we hadn't paid those because we weren't paying them during the budget impass, those automatically they'll automatically turn those over to PTE to deduct. >> They're already turned over, Pam, >> I believe. So yes, because we've passed those time periods, >> but it doesn't cost us, there's no penalty. >> It doesn't cost us anything different. All that it does, instead of us cutting a check, PTE has cut a check and the cyber charters will be made whole. >> Does that affect our credit rating? >> No, it would not affect our credit rating. Actually, there are many school districts that I can tell you uh whenever I worked over at Hefield School District, that was how we basically paid our cyber

006charter expenditures. We the only time we ever cut a check to cyber charters was at the end of the fiscal year whenever they did a year-end reconciliation. Other than that, we just let them take the deductions from our um >> subsidy >> subsidies from the from the basic ed and the special ed subsidies. Do you expect any def uh def deficits in our budgeting for that? >> Do I expect for cyber school? >> Uh it's a little too early in the fiscal year for me to determine that Dr. Fe. Um it is my hope obviously that um one of the things that I will say that I do like that they change with Cyber Charter is they are working on monitoring the students now that actually go to Cyber Charter. They're looking to see whether

007or not they're attending. They're doing wellness checks for them. I believe it's once a week. In legislation, if memory serves me correctly, it was once a week. So, with that being said, it is, you know, it is my hope that um it kind of helps turn the kids the kiddos around those kiddos that were marginal and and you know, basically went there because they felt that it might be easier. Um, now it's my hope that they continue on either in our district or in our um, cyber charter program here. >> You said they increased the amount of money though that they were giving us for cyber school. >> Um, we received an additional 2,000. I believe it's $2,300 and some dollars. Not much. Oh, >> okay. I thought it was a 200,000. >> No, it'd

008be great if it was, [laughter] but >> Marty Grow here if it was. >> Yes. [snorts] All right. >> Anything else? >> That's it. Thanks, Pam. >> You're welcome. >> Uh, moving on. CWCTC report. >> Yeah. So, we had a uh trunk or treat out there on Wednesday, uh, October 29th. Um, I think we were over 300 kids came through the CTC that night. um different students uh with the classroom, set up uh different kind of themed uh um places for the kids to come and get some candy and uh really see and showcase what the students do out there. So, I think it was a really well attended event. Even though it was a little little cold and rainy um held inside, it it went really well. Uh we've got our reorg on December

00911th. The uh dinner will be that night. Um currently 54 students are in co-op opportunities and I know on the 5th of November um Dr. Boon with uh Mount Pleasant and uh Dr. Dr. Luchia um presented at the integrated learning uh conference. I don't know if you have anything you want to add other than >> No, actually we um had a good time actually speaking with people from all over the state about the different kinds of career pathway programs we have and our students have available to them here. um primarily satellite programming uh where we have CTC programming in member schools just because there's not enough space at CWCTC uh and then uh and which is the kind that we will be hosting at the high school for uh our innovative technologies program next year.

010And then we have a pathways program which kind of looks at all of the electives um that we offer at the high school and matches them to a zip code area uh so that our students who are um attending our high school and staying in our high school all day still have the opportunity uh for CTE education and to get industry based credentials and to be a CTC completer even though they stay with us um all day long. >> That's all I had for CTC. >> All right. Thank you. uh Wu report. >> Um this has been a very very difficult two months for the intermediate unit. As we talked about it before, they do not raise taxes. They are totally dependent on government u money coming into them to pay their bills. So in

011short, the prolonged budget deadlock created uh an elevated financial risk for the IU and uh in order for them to to plan ahead to be able to meet payroll, they had to uh engage in a number of um activities related to potential staff layoffs. The um state budget and the federal budget were both, as you know, uh delayed. And we have a letter from Tammy Good, who is the school, who is the IU treasurer. The IU borrowed $5 million anticipation loan, and then they applied for and got 2 million more. But even with the 2 million more, those are called RANs, um it will only sustain operations into January of 2026. Not all the money that we need at the IU comes in on time, but yet the the salaries have to be paid. Um

012Dr. uh Conway promised that he would notify all individuals and programs that were involved and he met with the Greensburg partial hospitalization program, the prison youth detention and shelter program, work discovery, English as a second language, and non-public services. There was a plan to lay off 17 professional staff, four support staff, five classroom assistants, one at will full-time, one at four at will part-time and an 11 act 93 employees. They would be directors, supervisors, psychologists, and five non-certified. The um problem that they face is when the money comes into them. And Tammy explained that it can take a long time even after these budgets are settled for the cash to actually get freed up and sent to them. And they also depend on government funds that are that do not necessarily come in early in

013the year, but come in later in the year, but you have to pay the salaries all year long. So they continue to um work with this. They have a number of special meetings scheduled. um the the finances are still a concern and of course you have to pay back the $7 million that they um borrowed and also there are fees attached to those loans and they have to pay those fees no matter what even if they don't use the money they have to pay those fees but Pam is it true that the money can take a while to come in >> actually um we have started to receive some state funding as as of today they did make mention whenever the budget uh was finally passed by the state that it could take up to

0146 weeks to make us whole, but we have started getting some some deposits, peace meals, some subsidies, peace meals starting. >> So, I'm assuming they got some of that pen. >> I would assume they would get some as well. Correct. >> Thank you. >> Did they have to do any layoffs or >> No, I'll say I was at my superintendent meeting with them last week and basically we were going to talk about all this, but he said there's no reason to even talk about it because the budget's passed. Good. >> Well, in her report, she said even with the second RA, they face a possible temporary suspension of programs and staff if they don't get increase in get quick released money. But I I'm with you. I hope that that's the end of it, that

015they don't have to do it. And then I'll just add that um following tonight's meeting, we'll be communicating again with the participating districts so that the they understand that it's important for them to recognize the board's designation of its new WIU representative. And I'm seeking um and and wanted to inform the board if if necessary uh to give effect to that appointment. I mean, I I think that you're clearly within your rights to file an injunction to compel the IU to recognize that appointment. So, do I have objection from the board if if that's what we need to do if they don't seat uh Mrs. Guyer on Thursday night? Mr. Shipley, you good with that? >> Uh, yes. >> Okay. Okay. All right. [clears throat] Turn signals on. >> Turn signals on. Wrong button. >>

016The turn signal. >> All right. Next up is committee reports. Uh there have been no committee meetings since the last regular meeting. Student reports. >> Congratulations to our Scotty Scholar for November, Alyssa Hixon. After planning for several months by South Morland Student Council, the Powderpuff football game took place on November 14th at 700 p.m. Student Council raised nearly $3,000 for Susan G. Combmes Breast Cancer Foundation. That was a huge success. This year's Powderpuff winners were the sophomores and seniors who won by a score of 9 to zero. Congratulations to both teams who played for a great cause. Congratulations to the 2025 2026 snow court. McKenzie Martin, Aninssley Martin, Alyssa Hixon, Audrey Miller, Alexa Pendulo, Riley Pletcher, Caitlyn Ice, Jenna Yutsy, Brady Buts, Stanley Chapman, Logan Duca, Joey Bence, Chad Long, Ty Warick, Damen Wright, and

This the male and female of the snow court bringing in the most donations will be crowned king and queen on December 19th at the bump it up assembly. On Wednesday, November 12th, the interact club students arrived with bags of candy to be shipped to soldiers and shared with local veterans. We are proud of their generosity and commitment to service. Over the next two months, every NHS member will volunteer at least one evening at Overly's Country Christmas. They look forward to supporting the beloved community tradition and spreading cheer throughout the season. Kira Bryson along with Mrs. Hixon hosted the first meeting at of Early Act this Thursday at South Morland

018Elementary School. Early ACT will serve as an Interact, an extension of Interact at the SCS. helping younger students learn the value of kindness, service, and giving back. More details will be shared next month as the program continues. Congratulations to NHS member Ty War for organizing a meaningful service project last week. Tai rallied up more than 20 members of the school to stay after and create holiday cards for both veterans and senior citizens. Interact and National Honor Society turned Walmart tagging into a whipple food drive into a friendly competition with each club assigned its own set of doors. At the end of the day, the real winner was the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank. Together, the clubs raised an incredible $1,000. The St. Vincent College English Department welcomed high school students to submit papers of literary analysis

019and selected students were invited to present their papers of the first tripum conference at South of at St. Vincent College. Four AP language and composition students presented essays at St. Vincent College. These students included Phoenix Roberts, Kira Bryson, Kaitlin Raymond, and Cassie Loop. That's all. Thank you. Thank you. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> Our next section is school board meeting minutes. The board has asked to approve the following meeting minutes. October 21st, 2025 discussion voting meeting. October 23rd, 2025 resumption of discussion voting meeting from October 21st, 2025. >> So do >> second. >> Discussion. All those in favor? >> I oppose. I >> [clears throat] >> Uh the next section is adjudication. The board has asked to approve the adjudication prepared regarding Dr. Katherine Feik's appointment to the WIU board as presented. >> So

020do second >> discussion. >> Yes, I had some issues with this. Section seven. Dr. [clears throat] Brun says at the April 7th meeting there was no private no public there. It's my understanding there was. And then I also have a problem with back at section 14. >> Were you at the meeting? >> No, I wasn't. >> Oh, you weren't there? >> But I heard there was. And Okay. You heard? >> Just just just to bring it to your attention. >> Section 15, crossexamination from Mrs. Moore. It says on the board shall find testimony Melissa Moore not to be credible. I don't want my name associated with that. I was not voting on that board. It should have except Mr. Sipper. I don't like that. Well, I think you voted no for the action at the

021hearing and you can vote no on the adjudication and then it'll be registered in the board's minutes that you didn't vote for the >> but you're going to have this is going to be posted. I don't want my name associated with it. >> It's not going to be posted >> unless you put it on Facebook. >> I'd like to have the names put on Facebook. >> That's a good idea. I'd like to have the names of the people who did say that her testimony was not credible because this is potentially a lawsuit waiting to happen. [laughter] >> You're hilarious. >> Perjury is perjury. >> So, whoever votes for the adjudication adopts the adjudication. It's just as simple as that. >> All right. >> Are you refusing to give me the names of the people then

022who did that? >> Dr. Fe, you're going to be witness to a public vote. You will then have the names that you can file or advise your silly and meritless lawsuit. >> Okay. >> Be filed again. >> So, the people who vote for this document are the same people then who said that her testimony was not not credible. >> It it wasn't. >> You know, Dr. or judge. >> I I I guess this is your first rodeo, but all the time when boards make decisions, when administration makes decisions, they they make credibility determinations and they're free to do that. You know, I'm I'm glad that that's the one piece out of that adjudication that that apparently stood out to you and not all the other stuff. So, >> didn't you just say that the vote

023tonight would be the same as speaking for the people who said her vote her uh testimony was not credible? >> I did not say that. I said you could either adopt the adjudication or or refuse to adopt the adjudication. You can vote for it or against it. >> All right. >> So, if someone does not feel that they were part of that criticism of her testimony, they should not vote for this document. Is that right, >> Dr. Frank? I don't think anybody in this room thinks you're going to vote for the adjudication. So why are you wasting our time? >> Right. Uh roll call vote, please. >> Mr. Zipper? >> No. >> Mr. Yutsy? >> Yes. >> Dr. Flake? >> No. >> Mr. Fund? >> Yes. >> Mrs. Guyer? >> Yes. >> Mr. Graia? >>

024Yes. >> Mr. Rear is absent. Mr. Olsen? >> No. >> Mr. Shipley? >> Yes. >> Five to three. Next section is policies. >> There are no items for this month. >> Next section is personnel. >> The board has asked to approve the personnel log for November 18th, 2025 as attached. All salaries are included and all clearances are current and on file with the administration. >> So do >> second. >> Discussion. All those in favor? >> I opposed. Musical staff. The board will be asked to approve the following 2025 2026 staff for the musical. All clearances are current and on file with the administration. >> So do >> second. >> Discussion. All those in favor? >> I opposed ESS substitute nurse. The board has asked to approve the attached addendum with the SS Northeast LLC for

025substitute nurse services effective October 30th, 2025. >> Do second. >> Discussion. All those in favor? >> I opposed. SeaOou. The board has asked to approve theou with sea regarding simultaneous instruction. >> So moved. >> Second. discussion. >> I'm going to vote no on this. You're talking about theou now because I'm concerned about the effect it has on the actual education of our students in that program. >> I feel that it was um poorly scheduled and I I don't think just giving some throwing a few dollars at it is what our students need. >> All those in favor? I I >> opposed. No. Confidential Administrative Assistant HR Specialist Agreement. The board has asked to approve the district confidential administrative assistant HR specialist agreement for the time period from July 1st, 2026 through June 30th, 2029. >>

026So do >> second. >> Discussion. All those in favor? >> I opposed. >> Anyone want discussion? Next section is education student service agreements. The board has asked to approve the following annual student service agreements. Markei, Pennsylvania. >> So moved. >> Second. >> Discussion. All those in favor? >> I opposed. >> Technology refresh Chromebooks. The board has asked to approve the purchase of new Chromebooks as part of the district's technology refresh plan for a cost of $160,594.92 per the attached quote. >> So do >> second discussion. >> I have a question about um Chromebooks. It was my understanding that we replaced Chromebooks with laptops. >> Chromebook is a laptop. >> That's not correct. So, none of our students don't have laptops. They have all Chromebooks. >> Uh, we have some students in K K through five

027has iPads and then our students from grades 6 through 12 have Chromebooks. >> Have what? Chromebook. >> Chromebooks. >> 6 through 12. >> Yes. >> So, that's what this is for. >> Correct. >> Thank you, >> Pam. A question on this. Um, so I see we're pulling 80,000 from the technology refresh. Why did we not budget the full amount of this in the technology refresh? typic because typically uh we have x amount of dollars to spend in the technology budget and that was all that could be afforded in the line item. It was actually we budgeted $109,000 but we kind of kept some of that money to the side in case we needed going further down the down the school year. >> Okay. >> So we used some of the some of the technology refresh

028and some of the curriculum. It's just unfortunately with being that I haven't raised the any of the discretionary spending since I've been here in those budgets, that's part of the problem that um you know, we can't budget everything that we need all at once. >> Okay, understandable. And is that going to impact the curriculum at all then? What we have planned going forward? >> Not to my knowledge, no, I don't believe so. Dr. Boon and I have been talking about the curriculum for next year and we have some I have some ideas on how we can finance that, but that's for another day. >> Okay. Thank you. >> How many Chromebooks are we going to buy for this $160,000? >> Uh on the quote it says 459 >> 400 roughly 450 >> 459 459. Yeah.

029>> Yeah. Um, I've been watching the research uh, nationally because I have a question in in the education category, but I guess I can't ask it yet. But there is research now showing that across the nation there the significant drop in learning is due to the uh, increased use the inappropriate use of technology and um, I just think for the future this is something that should be discussed. But then I have another question after this vote. Yeah, I'd be curious to see what our teachers are doing that's inappropriate on them as somebody who sees it every day. >> This was the um Washington Post. >> I get it, but they're not seeing what's happening in our classrooms. >> All right. All those in favor? >> Opposed. [clears throat] Next section is finance. >> I have

030an education question >> on the agenda. Education. >> Yeah, but there's no item. Does it pertain to one of the two items that's already been voted on? >> So, I'm not allowed to ask a question about education. >> Well, the the meeting agenda has been prepared. We've gone through the education items. >> Okay. I want the public to know that I'm not permitted to ask a question about education. Thank you. >> All right. Monthly financial reports. The board has asked to approve the following monthly financial reports, all attached. Treasures report, general fund board summary report and fund accounting, capital fund, capital GISA and food service check summary listing. >> So do >> second discussion. >> All those in favor? >> I I opposed. Approval of budget transfer. The board has asked to approve the following

031budget transfer needed to purchase the 2025 Chevrolet Express 10 passenger van. >> I have a question. or we need motions to get it on. >> Need a motion. I'll make the motion. >> I'll second. Okay. Discussion, >> Mr. Greyback. >> Way back whenever we started our initial budget process in the buildings and grounds, we put in it for a new uh utility truck. Now, I see that we want to buy a passenger van and we want to spend $62,000 for the passenger van when we can rent a van from Grooms. So, we need to buy a a a truck to [clears throat] to get current with the equipment that we need to to take care of our schools. Agreed. >> Excuse me. Is there a truck item listed under this? I don't see a truck

032item. >> Catherine F. You don't run this meeting. Please stop. >> So, anyway, that's all. I mean, I just I'd like to table this till next meeting till we can discuss it and and then bring it back out on and and see which direction we're going to go. Do we really need a Do we really need a van an express van when we can rent one from Grooms? >> Damn, don't they use that van all the time? >> Pardon me. [clears throat] >> Pardon me. >> Don't they use the van all the time? It has to be there ready to go. >> Not every day. Uh we use it for athletics, for golf teams, for tennis teams, for wrestling. Uh we use it for um small field trips. >> It' probably be hard to get

033one in advance then, right? you'd have to know in advance and everything. >> Well, with um rooms it would be $20 and some dollars per day plus if they if the driver had to stay there for an event it would be $29 and some odd cents per hour for that. >> Our van it's driven by the >> but our van is driven by the person. Um we did whenever I came here we had three 10 passenger vans. We only have one 10 passenger van at this point in time. We do have two other vans. We have um one that is specifically used for our learning support kiddos when they go out into the um to the to the places where they work out into the community. Um you know, we do have the smaller van

034for some some additional athletic um >> works discovery program. >> Well, yeah, that's what I was talking about, the learning support. Yes. Thank you. But uh the athletics do do use the other seven passenger van as well. But obviously if you're taking for example some golf teams, they've got all the golf bags and those type things. >> We normally keep them for what 8 10 12 years, right? >> Um >> there's state law where you have to get rid of them every so often. Can only keep them so long. >> That I would have to check on that. I'm not >> I think it's 10 years. But did you did you check on an extended warranty with this? Because these vans are very expensive. >> There there is there is definitely an extended warranty. >>

035We should look into that. Trucks. >> Yeah, there's definitely um an extended warranty with it actually. That is um for fleets [clears throat] >> table. >> Um >> 600. >> I'm with Mr. I'm I'm with Mr. Graia. Can we table this >> and have more discussion? >> Absolutely. >> I'll create a motion we table this. Second. >> All those in favor of the motion to table. >> I opposed it [clears throat] >> for your reorganization meeting. >> Table two. >> Does that table both these motions then? >> No, just the uh number three purchase 2025 express fan. >> Well, and number two as well, [snorts] >> right? >> Well, we're on number two. So, we tabled the approval of the budget transfer. So now we'll have to table number three. We'll have to table number

036three. Okay. >> Well, I'll make a motion to table >> the purchase of the van. >> Well, it's not even on the >> motions first. >> True. Sorry. >> I'm off when we put them together. Jo >> having some technical difficulties here. Russ >> you want me to read it? >> No. >> Actually, if you table one, you can't do it. It's automatic. Yeah. >> Can't you read it from there? >> Where we at? >> Brand new, bud. >> The board has asked to approve the purchase of a 2025 Chevy Express 10 passenger van for 61,789, which included a standard warranty from Co-Stars vendor number 02622 as attached. >> So moved. >> Need a second. >> Second. I get on the floor then we can discussion. >> So I'd like the motion to table the

037purchase of the van. >> Need a second. >> Second. >> So move. >> All those in favor of table the motion. >> I opposed. >> Thank you. Award copier RFP. The board has asked to award the copier RFP to Toshiba effective 12125 to 1130 2030 at an estimated monthly cost of $4,967.35. which includes unlimited black and white copies and a color overage of 0029 cents. >> So do second >> discussion. >> I have a question. When we discussed these copers before, uh Pam, you said that you were going to there were three that weren't being used, >> right? And we >> What does this bid include? Did it take the >> This bid does not include does not include those three copers. >> I had hoped that was right. Thank you. >> That is correct.

038As an aside, I I will just add that um the terms of this copying agreement are different than the terms of the previous agreement we had. Uh the previous agreement we had were unlimited copies for black and white and unlimited copies uh for color. Uh this new one does not have unlimited copies for color. Um so we are going to need to make some sacrifices here at the district level in terms of how much we print >> um in color. Oh, in color specifically. So, uh I just want to say I mean that's across the board. We're going to have to watch um watch what we print. Watch what we print in color. Um we're going have to come up with some type of quota system so that we um fall below the monthly um

039quota we have. We're we're going to need to ask uh our color copying to be reduced by around 67%. >> 67. >> That is correct. >> Yes. So, for the people on the schoolboard that get printed agendas, are they printed in color? >> Hopefully not, because I don't think they should be. I don't I don't think that we should be taking copies away from our students to provide them to those who choose not to have the internet. >> I I would agree that it is important for our teachers and students to have the majority of those copies. >> Yeah. And one thing I will tell you, anytime, for example, whenever somebody has a um anything like for example on a signature, if their signature has like a little bit of red or has the Scotty

040S, anything on a piece of paper that has a that type of impression would be charged as a >> full color >> as a as a color copy. So with that being said, um you know I don't believe that we had s that many that much percentage um that was basically for education purposes. I believe a lot of it had to do with print outs of emails and and the like. >> Are those things being printed? Are all emails being printed for the board member? Can we provide the people that don't have internet access at home with a Chromebook and a a hotspot? We have the wherewithal to >> reduce that printing. >> We do have that capability. Yes. >> Do we understand what the cost increase would be to go to unlimited colors? They

041wouldn't even quote us with unlimited. >> Yeah. None of them would quote us at unlimited at this point because of the overage of the color copers. Color copies, not copers. Um, I can tell you that they looked at the amount of color copies that we were printing versus what much larger districts uh were printing and we far exceeded what they were doing. >> You just got to scale back. >> Yes. >> Clean it up. >> Is everybody going to get like a an aotment budget of colors like >> Well, they they will and >> per grade. >> I know Dr. Boon had spoken with the principles and they're working on some sort of idea on how to set up a quota system for that. >> Let's just not take away from the kids. >> Yeah,

042agreed. >> Yep. >> I don't think >> All right. On to the vote. Uh all those in favor. >> I opposed. >> Next section is building and ground security. >> No items for this month. >> Next section is athletics activities. >> No items for this month. >> And then our final section is closing exercises. Citizens comments. [cough] [clears throat] Jan Kefir, East Huntington Township. Excuse me. Um, I'm overjoyed tonight. I'm overjoyed tonight as I look forward to the next uh school board after they're seated. Um, it's tempered a little bit because I would like to see our superintendent and solicitor be on that same boat out, but nonetheless, I am genuinely uh pleased with uh where we are tonight. It's been a long time. Um, I I want to speak to my favorite subject, my

043usual subject, and I think we can all agree by now that America's health for youth and adults is is is what it is. And I don't need to present that data. Uh tonight I want to bring a spiritual dimension to this. Um you know we talk about body, mind and spirit all being connected like you and I are connected in more ways than we like to think. But first up, um, for over the length of your, uh, ten years as employees up there and, uh, elected officials, I'm just wondering if you can, uh, point to any data that you could say indicates that student health has been addressed or has improved in any way. Um claiming uh you have a limited role is uh sort of like washing your hands of the situation and it's

044just wrong at all levels to do that since you are a major contributor. uh a classroom of properly nutritioned children, nourished children, protected from toxins would far exceed the uh see the gains as measured by your blue ribbon award. And that's sort of my punchline for the night. Um mentally and emotionally, um in your eight years, you know, point me to uh you know, where the improvement has been and where the effort has been. you'll point to your in-house mental program man emotional program and I think that's needed very much but I'm quite familiar with that for quite a number of decades and and understand the critical reviews and I uh I just um I consider it a failure and I and I want to just point out that you won't discuss these type of

045things publicly and it's just going to be a sort of a dark program that goes on Um, and um, also mentally, you know, we're still in the test to teach to the test paradigm. You'll say that's not true, but you know, I I take online teachers accreditation courses just for the fun of it. So, I'm sort of in the mix. I'm not like the Washington Post that doesn't have a clue as to what's going on in the school room. Um, but you know, where you are, you're having people recognize answers instead of retrieving uh information from their mind and their memory. I mean that's that just wears on a person after 12 years especially a young mind and saying yourself that this isn't the current model is uh it it just it is and >>

046all right Mr. Ke for your time is up. Thank you. >> Could I have a couple more minutes since this is the last slide? I was getting to the spiritual part. You've given a lot of people. >> I appreciate your comments though. Thank you. >> Does any board member want to off ask him to give me one? >> Nope. You can have a seat. >> Any other public comments? >> I signed up for one >> at the beginning. >> I signed up for one. >> It's on there. All right. You going to the podium or you staying at your seat? What? >> Are you going to the podium or are you staying at your seat? [snorts] Ask me something. I have received written statements and requests from uh the community and I would like to

047address that. We have recently received multiple com contact contacts from community members regarding the action taken by the board when they voted to stop live streaming public board meetings. Their concern is singular. They feel that the board has chosen to limit transparency rather than foster an open relationship with the community based on trust that the board and the administration are accountable for their actions. We have thousands of taxpayers who financially support our district and they are stakeholders in our district and have the right to know how it is run. All of them have the right to see public board meetings. The question is who is going to edit these meetings? Who is going to who's going to decide what the public can or cannot see or hear? The board already has the cover of executive

048session to severely limit transparency on a wide number of issues. With edited meetings, there lies an imminent danger called censorship. If someone, anyone, including the public, says anything that the editor or editors do not like, it can and will be hidden from the public. Then what happens? Word gets out quickly and facts become second and third-hand information, rumors, and the infamous quote misfort misinformation. Based on that, the public now responds without authentic knowledge as they have already as we have already experienced. People can make comments on things that they never really saw or heard. If meetings are no longer live streamed, misinformation, distrust, and rumors become the reality of the image and perceptions of the board and the administration. We owe it to our constituents to be open and transparent to the public about the

049actions of the people that they elected to represent them. Mr. Buchko, we the board have received your letters and I want you to know that I hear you loud and clear. You and all the others deserve the right to truth, accurate information about the district that you financially support. Thank you for contacting us. All right. Any other citizens comments? >> This might be a record. >> Who protects our kid? >> 7:30. >> Make a motion to adjourn. >> I'll second. >> All those in favor? >> I I >> meeting adjourned. Thank you. >> Hey Laura, you said on this thing that we would receive the board self assessment report.
