The flag is right there. >> I got to be out of here about 7:30. >> Good evening and welcome to the U regular voting school board meeting this evening. At this time, we'll salute the flag and then we'll take a moment of silence for our military. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the stand [clears throat] of the All right. Well, thank everyone for coming this evening and everyone at home for listening. Uh, at this time we're going to do our favorite roll call. >> Marsher >> present. >> Bomb >> here. >> Ramsey. >> Ricks >> here. >> Shear >> here. >> Stein >> here. Watersf White >> here. >> Wilson >> here. And Mr. President, if I may remind board members tonight, you will have to touch

your pad in order for the microphone to be engaged. Thank you. >> So, thank you. Uh Ben and Jessica are out for personal reasons. Uh documented or announced reasons for unknown, which we just went over. Announcements regarding executive sessions held. We have not had one. So, at this time, we'll move into welcoming visitors, uh, formal and informal requests to address the board. Our first one is Jordan Sharp from Hanover. He is a student. If Jordan would like to come up to the mic and you have five minutes. Members of the board of school directors, superintendent Kurpatre, Assistant Superintendent Guadino, my name is Jordan Sharp, current senior at SGHS and an active member and troop president of our district's local chapter of the International Deskate Society, troop number 6987. Here before you all tonight as not

just a leader within Spring Theater Department, but as a student concerned with present and future state of the SJHS Orwell family auditorium and its operations. I spent the past the past four years using this remarkable space to help produce a remarkable production. Very same ones that have earned our IT troop statewide recognition and distinction as a gold honor troop. Though in light of the recent struggles our theater department has had to endure, which involved missing a third of all functioning microphones during its annual production of senior directed one act plays this past Friday and Saturday, I feel obligated to speak up. As things currently stand, the many groups that share the auditorium for events spanning music, theater, and other programs are operating without the consistent oversight and technical guidance necessary to use the space effectively

and responsibly. This has led to preventable issues, making miscommunication, improperly handled equipment, and missed instructional opportunities that ultimately lowered the quality of student performances. Recent events have made this especially clear from the sound system being left inoperable for SGE music night on March 17 and equipment being mishandled to res reset incorrectly in between group events prior to 1x. It's evident that without a dedicated knowledgeable tech director overseeing the space even the best efforts between students and staff fall short. These are not isolated incidents and their symptoms of a larger problem. Reinstating a dedicated tech director for the Roarball family auditorium would not only resolve these recurring issues but also unlock the full potential of a space our district has already invested in so much. It would provide students with the mentorship needed to truly learn

and lead short equitable access and easy communication across programs and elevate the overall standard of our productions and events held at the space. I stand here not just asking for improvement but a sustainable system that supports students long after my peers and I graduate. trust. I'm willing and eager to collaborate with any relevant authority to start the necessary talks such as with building level administrators. Thank you for your time and consideration and if the board has any questions, I am now open at accepting any questions. >> Well, thank you. Appreciate it very much. >> Any board comments? Did you give us a copy of that? >> Leave a copy of what he said or >> to put in the minutes. >> So Suzanne does have the email. She will forward out. >> That's what I

was asking. >> I will send that out to all board members with your directions. >> Yep, that's fine. Send it out. >> Then Jordan, thank you. Appreciate it very much. Uh our next speaker is Michelle is in Galabani. Uh she's from H Highaidberg Township. You're more than welcome to come up. >> Hello. I became a part of Springrove School District when my do my children transferred into the school district. I've always been supportive of the PTO's and now that they're in high school, there is no PTO. Um, so last year I learned the hard way that the high school doesn't have a PTO. They don't have any forms collectively to fund raise for the school in general. Um, last year I offered my services reaching out to the Spring Grove area education fund which I

was under the interpretation that they were supposed to support fundraising for the school district and more importantly to aid and support any academic or need of the school. Um, so I offered my services applying for grants both state and federal. um raising funds. Um I'm sure Spring Grove Area Education Fund is probably sick of me because I had my work donate a lot of money. Um I also wrote letters asking for donations to be made for my father-in-law who passed away, which his dream was to support children in education and we got money for that. What I don't understand is no one is meeting me halfway. My daughter is a part of the muk truck and I see the invitations that they get. We have been here supporting the theater and I see the needs.

I hear from Odyssey of the mind. Yes, I attend a lot of these fundraiser events, but without Springrove support, we can't fund them by ourselves. And I don't understand. There are state grants out there. There are federal grants out there. If we collectively start utilizing the Springrove Area Education Fund 501c3B, we can do more fundraising. It's not about taxes. It's about joining together as one united school district and saying these kids and the recognition that they've earned deserve to be rewarded. These kids have been working their butts off trying to get to that Harvard invitation which many of you probably never even heard of. They got invited to go to Harvard to present mock trout. They got pres offered to go to the Empire Classic and we've been working but we have no resources just

like the just like Odyssey the mind just like anybody else academically here. So again, this summer I will be offering my assistance to anyone who wants to work together. Does it mean we'll get it? No. But if you don't start asking, you'll never start receiving. And I think the students here make this school very proud. And they make them proud nationally. This past year, they had a school from California that purposely flew in to the Philadelphia competition to go up against them. and our kids won. So, you should really commend their efforts and say, "What can we do to help you and what can our parents help us to help them do?" Thank you. >> Well, thank you, Michelle, very much. And that is a great question of why the school high school doesn't have

the PTO. And somewhere along the line, we'll find an answer out for that for you. Any questions answered for board? All right. Uh, next one we have is Bronson. Is it Carious, right? Curious. >> Caris. >> Carris. So, you're more than welcome to come up. You can bring your group up. So, um, Bronson's going to speak on behalf of the mock trial as a unit. Um, I'd like to first thank you all for coming out here today. >> Sorry. I'd like to thank you all for coming out here today. I'd like to thank the people in attendance right now for coming out here today. Um, I didn't necessarily prepare something to uh speak, but I hope this doesn't appear too informal, but more anecdotal. At the end of my eighth grade year, I was clueless

of what I was going to do with the future of my life. I had no plans and aspirations, and the year prior, I was too shy to join up on the football team. But convinced by senior John Riley, a star volleyball player who went to Penn State, I signed up for mock trial and I took that leap like many of these other kids besides me and I never regretted it. I've been in mock trial for three years for all my years of high school and I intend on going for one more my senior year. This program, this extracurricular, this class has done so much for the students and for myself. It's an integral part of our identities and mine. And I just ask you to please consider our program and what it means to these

students. Thank you. I open I'm open to any questions. Can I ask a So we have multiple people here for we have multiple people here for mock trial. Can I get more information as to why exactly they're here? Because this is I'm I'm a little [clears throat] lost as to what what the situation is. So this all transpired um I guess about a week ago and what it is and so I say this correctly being on record. Mock trial is a elective so they can sign up and and earn credits for it. So they are funded through the school as far as uh you know through the curriculum. Well, then to find out um and this is where I'm a little big on and we'll let Deafany get you know jump in. Uh they are

also turned over as a club as well to start as their own funding just like Rocket Tree was turned over as all the other clubs. So now basically u MRI will have to start doing their own funding if if I'm saying that correct. So basically I guess it's a fine line. What I'm just learning about this is because it is a elective course. So does that fall under curriculum? Is it still sponsored by the school or is it going to be a club? And is it sponsored by the club doing their own funding? >> So that's not quite true. I didn't want to talk to >> that. Well, that's why >> I did not want to talk. Um they came here and we're working on some things. So they came on their own free will.

A mock trial itself is a co-curricular. Um we last year and the tulage of things getting cut because of move court. Uh we worked through the school district to find a way for funding and that's where the educational fund came back in where we had no PTO place to raise money like the athletic boosters or the music boosters. And so we were trying to raise money so we could go to those events. And in order to do so, you needed to have outside of the general fund a way to raise money. And so therefore, what we did, we've been trying to raise money for those additional events. And then we get caught in this quandry. In reality, as I said before, we need an academic boosters or some place that we can have support network

to then allow us to raise um money for some of the different events that we would like to go to. Um what happened this year and again we're working on things trying to make sure that mock trial is still being covered. I do support the school board, I support the administration. We're trying to find ways to make sure that uh mock trial competitions and events that we do will continue through the co-curricular for years to come. So that's kind of where that that is at and what we're trying to attempt to do and they were hearing and and upset that they want to make sure that they can still compete. When Bronson mentioned about John Riley, we have so many kids that are lawyers or go on to become law school. um you know um

Thomas Riley you're probably well aware of uh in this given area and so we have plenty of former students and students that want to continue the pursuit of excellence uh and going into higher academics later on in life and mock drought has supported them in this endeavor. So how do we determine the how do we rightsize this like how do we determine what is the like the a reasonable amount to provide because it is an ac like it is a class it's not only a club um how do we determine how much money we because I don't I'm not happy I don't know where we're we've ended and I don't know how much money We are cutting. Are we going down to zero? Are we go What is that number? How are we figuring that

number out? >> The district is will be paying the registration fees as well as the transportation fees. It's my understanding coming in in the middle of the movie that we were doing some reductions to be fair across all of our extracurriculars. And so with that fairness, with that decision, uh, came a reduction of approximately $8,000, which would cover some of their hotel and food expenses. I'll invite anyone else to to jump in to fill in anything that I missed. >> So here, may I speak? >> These items have been publicly discussed at the two most recent budget and finance committee meetings. There have been recommendations made for continued review. If I am speaking out of turn, Mrs. Leppo, please correct me. But there have been public meetings. There has been no decision made until I

what I just heard from Dr. Fpatrick that there are monetary values now being placed on what any reductions may look like. Um and again, uh if I may, um Dr. Dr. Patrick, equitability was something that the board requested that the administration review last year when we were in preparation for the budget, particularly with extracurriculars and co-curriculars. At that time, there were vision revisions made to odyssey of the mind if you'll remember. So again, the business office has done exactly what the board has requested and at those budget and finance committee meetings, those items have come out and been discussed publicly in the last two weeks and we'll know more when the budget is presented at the May DSF, I'm sure. >> Can this be on the next budget finance meeting as well? I I was

not at the last one, but I was two ago and I don't remember ever discussing this. So is has it already been approved and this is what is going to be showing up in our budget? >> Interesting. Okay. Discuss again. >> Sorry to share. >> Sorry. >> Correct. Mr. Barer, the um it is part of the it is part of the final budget. Um as Dr. Kerpatrick mentioned um the items that were removed to be consistent across um the board to all uh club student activities was the removal of food and the removal of hotel registrations for the students. We are still paying um the mock trial advisor fees and the uh and the co-advisor fees. We are paying for the registration. We are paying for the travel. Um approximately $21,000. Yeah. with the wherever

the 8,000 is. So, we are the largest organization. It comes out to $20 a kid for all our different competitions. So, I want to put some like variable understanding. We have like 50 people uh that do mock trial. We talk about DEC or others like eight or 13. So, you have to compare the numbers of people like a ninth grade team. We have a junior varsity, a varsity team. So, you're going through the different numbers of those that compete against all the different other schools. Um, that's where the the money is going through each one of them. >> So, what would be cut if if we if you have $8,000 less, what what kind of impact is that on the club? >> Uh, so for our class and co-curricular, that's what our conversation is. We're

trying to come up with some solution. Um, we've been trying to do fundraising. Um, the, you know, we can get to the place, but we won't be able to to stay. I mean, 8,000. I was hoping for like when we talk about the education fund and potentially like an academic boosters, I'm hoping for a stop bridge gap or something for like a couple years so that we can start fundraising enough money to be able to uh support those endeavors. um because again it's going to be a massive event. I don't know if we'll be able to go to all those events um because we have to raise all that massive money. Not saying it can happen. I'm saying that that's the problem that we face in such a short term finding uh out about a

week ago that this was potentially or possibly could go down. So um the the the goal is hopefully um as you look in the cafeteria, you know, these kids are amazing. um 18 district titles in a row. We have more district titles than all sports from 1950s to the present. Uh that's something to think about with all the kids that are involved and have an impact with learning uh without limits. Um I think your dollar amount is uh very important. Um we talk about trying to keep kids in school. I know of two kids examples that they did not go charter school at state of mock trial. $16,000 saved each time that happens as well. That's a major impact uh within our community. And uh again, super proud of these kids and hopefully we'll find

some solution to let them get to those competitions because without going to them, we won't be able to uh perform and keep getting states all the time. Those are the tournaments that uh helps you uh succeed. It's how it works. So Jason, not not to go back and forth here, but how many teams are you talking about that you're taking? So are you taking two teams, four teams, five teams? So in the past the because of the problem, the way in which it works um starts January 1 and it goes for months at a time to get the new freshman one to understand how mock trial is, they go to the first one and they don't go to anyone else. Um it's the later on tournaments. it's just the uh the top two teams. Um

and it's it's just because now they see it, they understand it, now they can work far in class on the problem. They can have the upper classman help them so that it's an ongoing learning experience. It's that uh you know it's a proven success model that has reason why we have 18 titles in a row and u success. So that's to answer your questions. They don't. The first one is the most important one because oh my gosh, this is what we have to do. Let's now buckle down. Let's get to work. Let's figure this out. That's a process. >> All right. Well, thank you and thank you all for coming this evening. Truly appreciate it. >> Approval. >> All right. Do we have anyone else? >> Well, I I I would like to just make

a comment. You know, I I feel for them and I understand where they're at, but you know, everybody that has a club and everybody that has one of these things going on in school feel the same way and it is a fine line of where we can come up with the money and come and and do these things and who gets extra and who don't get extra. So, uh I [clears throat] hope you understand. I think this board does the best it can to focus strictly first on education for all of our students and then the clubs and things like that that come after that. We try and treat them all fairly and I think that's the only way we can do that. It it's just an important thing to be have a standard and

to have have the way we do things and that's the way we follow because if we would every time if we decide now all of a sudden we're going to give this club more money another club comes in they want more money it's just I don't know where that stops I appreciate taking time and coming and uh and doing that but I I understand what they're saying. Thank you. May maybe I'd like to I don't think we ever had an actual conversation about equitability. I know that there were a couple of board members who used those words about equitability, but I don't ever remember in a budget and finance meeting that being on the agenda talking about how to equitably treat every club because I'm curious as to how we fit to that number. I

mean, it's it's truly impossible to be completely equitable. I mean, the football team is going to cost more money than the soccer team by default. And when I think about our wrestling team, I mean, we send our wrestling team to various tournaments. I mean, I see that coming through our checklist all the time. And so, I don't think we only send three kids to those. I think we're probably sending the whole team. And so, I'm I'm curious as to how we ended up and determined what is equitable. And that might be a good conversation to have moving forward so we don't run into this again. Um because if we're looking at just academic clubs and our athletic clubs, they are we we spend significantly more money in athletics. I mean, just to maintain all of

our fields than we do in our academics. And so equitability is a it's a it's a conversation I think we should have. >> This isn't a back and forth conversation. >> It's it's not a back and forth conversation, but >> that's a public. It was said >> one moment. >> Great. >> Just need to state your name and read this about Hidleberg Township. Michael >> Galvani Galvani. >> Um for what Mr. Shear said out of the equitable law clubs. I think we're missing a key point here. This is not a club. This is a class the school offers. It is a weighted class for college grade differently. They get more for their grade than a high school grade. This is a college level. Um, so I just want to point that out that that's a

huge difference. This is not a club. It is a class. I go to school here. That's the class. The other thing that she that Michelle had brought up earlier is they're trying to raise funds, but there is nothing the school offers to help them get those spots. They either don't have the personnel or type just one like what he was saying club's equitable. It's not a club. This is a class that this school offers. Thank you. That's >> that's what that's what I to me that the question here remains is is not necessarily is is there a pathway to fund, right? So, um whether it be boosters, PTO, that type of thing. So, um that's what we need to make clear for them in terms of how can they fund raise. Um that's what I'm

hearing you say. So, um if if it can't be funded as a club, what can we do to fund raise and what pathway can we use? So that's what we need to research about. >> Exactly. And and on that note, as part of fundraising, I'm going to be the devil's advocate, there are a lot of clubs that go outside and do fundraising. So, you know, if mock trial is, you're saying, you know, 18 awards in the whole nine yards, I would be utilizing that and going to these attorneys locally and using I mean, before you know it, you could have $10,000 in a in a club fund for fundraising. So, you utilize your students, utilize what you have, and you certainly could help fund raise as well. So like I said, just trying to be

a devil's advocate here. So there are possibilities to way to, you know, earn funds. Okay, on that note, moving on, we have student representative report Cameron Little. The mic is yours. >> Thank you. All right. So, the Springrove Elementary SGE had a career dress up day held on April 10th. The Big Buddy Club met after school on Wednesday, April 15th. The elementary instrumental concert was held on Thursday, April 16th. The Rolling Tractor Show visited SGE on the 17th by the high school students. And then Lighthouse has created another hope day happening May 1st, a day to express mental health awareness to students. National Honor Society held a fundraiser at lunches

where anyone could pie an officer in the face along with a cookie dough fundraiser. And then lastly, DECA has become a great hit at the high school. Students competing against other schools in business competitions. Thank you. >> Well, thank you so much. What a great report. And moving on, we have superintendent report. Daffany. >> Yes. Thank you, Mr. White. I'll try to also have a great report. Thank you, Cameron, for talking about the annual rolling tractor show. Of course, this was a first experience for me. Nearly 50 tractors took part in the show this year and parade which took place on the 17th at Spring Grove Elementary School. With the support of our FFA staff and students, Springrove Elementary students were able to explore a variety of machinery up close and learn more about how

agriculture supports our daily our daily life in our region. A lot of history there. some old old equipment that has evolved now into very big uh amazing huge equipment. Uh afterward, the community enjoyed the parade which featured the tractors rolling tractors and equipment rolling through Spring Grove traffic circle and back around to Spring Grove Elementary School. It was my pleasure to chat with many community members who attended and thank them for their commitment uh to of time for the show. They spend the whole day there. Uh, which makes the event what it is for our district and for our community. It's really awesome. We have several record-breaking moments to share with both about both boys and girls track. Our boys 4x100 relay team delivered a record- setting performance at the 99th annual Jack Rodic High

School Invitational, capturing first place with a time of 41.95 seconds. Their finish broke their previous school record of 42.72 seconds that was set in 2022. Congratulations to Caleb Allen, Breeden Smith, Cam Hoff, and Andrew Gerber. High school senior Caleb Allen also set a new school record in the 300 meter hurdles, finishing with an impressive time of 38.47 seconds. He surpassed the previous mark of 39.18, which had been held up in 2021. And high school senior Ella Bon also delivered a record-breaking performance, winning the 400 meter dash in 55.20 seconds. Her time broke her own previous school record of 55.73 seconds, which she set last year, marking another milestone in her career. So, congratulations to both Caleb and Ella. Students from the high school achieved strong results at the Battle of the Rockets competition held in

Coler, Virginia. Competing against middle schools, high schools, and universities from across the country, the team earned top finishes in several challenging events. Logan Shear earned his level one certification through the National Association of Rocketry, an entry-level high power rocketry credential that requires successfully building, launching, and safely recovering a rocket using an advanced motor under the supervision of certified individuals. So, congratulations to Logan. Spring Grove has once again been named one of the best communities for music education by the NAMM Foundation, which is National Association of Music Merchants, in case you didn't know. A recognition received every year in our district since 2012. Mr. Bup submits our application each year. However, none of these achievements would be possible without the programming, funding, resources, and facilities that the district continues to provide for the music program. This

support is what gives students the opportunity to actively engage in music making, which is what this award truly recognizes. And finally, today marks my 20th day as superintendent here in Spring Grove. Each week brings both highlights and challenges, which feels very much like the work that we should be doing. More than anything, I continue to feel grateful and honored to be part of the Spring Girl family. And that is my report. Thank you. >> Well, thank you so much. What a great report. But my question is, because I know Rodney and Michael were at the Rolling Tractor show, did any of them offer you a ride on their they think they're sexy tractors? >> Well, I had the pleasure of riding in the wagon. >> Oh, they put you in the wagon. >> So, I

I I was able to have a great perspective of all things from the wagon. And I'm sure that I would be able to uh do some work on the farm at any time if uh [laughter] that was something that they would offer. >> Well, they're they're deeply smiling, so I I think the invitation is open. >> We talked a lot about bailing hay and and straw bales and hay bales. So, uh yeah, I have some experience in that area. >> Well, that is excellent news. Well, thank you and Rodney and Michael, thank you for always attending that. All right, moving on. We have correspondence. Uh, so at everyone's desk, you have a U invitation for graduation ceremony. Uh, Friday, May 29th at 700 p.m. It's going to be exciting this year. Hope to see you

all attend. Also, uh, you have the YC Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y Y L LC tour. Uh, everyone was received an email. If you have an interest, please reach out to Suzanne. If you'd like to attend for a tour of that and other than that, that's all I have. So, we'll move that on to York County School Technology. Mike, >> um, Mr. Shear had the privilege meeting. >> Mike, can you hit the the speaker broad? Yes, I attended a meeting at VOCC that was uh they started discussions already on their come upcoming budget, but uh they did they did get they hired a mentally handicapped person to help teach. So from here on out, we will not be getting a

bill from LIU for any services for the kids that are mentally challenged in York Bay. We're going to handle that in house there. They did that. they hired one one teacher to handle that instead of having six teachers come in there from Ohio yield. So that will be a savings to us. But it was a lot of discussion about the budget. Uh do area high school is is considering pulling out of York tax. They uh they they said they're out of money. They don't have enough money to do it, but they're trying to figure out how they can pay the penalty to get out and move forward. And I don't think West York's real far behind them. So, uh, that meeting lasted almost 3 hours that night and then they want to start the next

meeting in May at 6:00 a.m. or 6:00 p.m. to, uh, discuss more of it of of some of the challenges stuff they're having in there. But, we've had a good good response as far as uh, students applying. Again, we had over,200 students apply again. they they figured out how many we can we can take and then again it's only about we're only taking about one/4 of the kids that's applying into that school. They they'd like to find somewhere else to to further that uh to get bigger. And I guess they're going to do that with the building they bought them, right? They bought a building, but they don't have access to it for a couple years. And the reason they bought that, I found out, was because the storm the building they were going to

put up, the storm water management was almost $3 million just for this to take care of the storm water in there. So they thought it'd be better to to pay liability already exist and go to that project. That's all I have. Thank you. >> All right. Well, thank you very much. Thanks for attending. Uh York Adams Academy Karen, >> we meet tomorrow evening and then I'll have more information. >> All right. Well, thank you. uh special committee reports. And on that note, before we move on, I'd like to thank all the uh donors uh for their donations to for the future farmers backpack program. We had nutrition service, rocketry club, and we had uh district music program donations as well. So, thank everyone for your donations. Okay. Moving on, we have personnel Nicole. >> Personnel board actions requested. A, we have a resignation. Maline Smiser. Um, she's a junior high head cheerleading coach. Letter B, teacher appointments, approval of the following teacher appointments for the 26 27th school year. Um, number one, Lauren Hint for spring. She's she will be a Springrove elementary first grade teacher. Um, number two, Holly Wolf, Springer, also at the Springrove Elementary School as

a second grade teacher. Um, so they will start at the beginning of the 26 27th school year. Letter C, appointment approval appointments, approval of the following appointment, Stacy Schaefer, um, as a healthcare assistant at the Spring Grow Preschool. Letter D, classified substitutes, approval of the following substitutes, um, as listed. Letter E, temporary maintenance support approval of the following individual uh for maintenance need for maintenance needs for the summer maintenance support u Evan Shu. Letter F, temporary technology support approval of the following individual or summer technology support Nicholas Hirs. Letter G, extended school year support staff approval of the following support staff um for Kim, Miss Kimberly Poler for ESY healthcare assistant and letter H, aquatics approval of the following individual um spell Ziggler for pool as a pool supervisor and lifeguard. So moved for personnel.

>> Any questions? >> Yes. Uh I have uh some questions about position E and F. Um one I guess concern I feel like the label is misleading. The position reads summer maintenance support and another position reads summer technology support. Yet the descriptions read support for the summer and throughout the entire school year. So it is more than just summer. So I that position should not read summer maintenance support. It should just mean what like temporary maintenance support. I'm not sure how that should read. Um so that's concern number one. And then I just question I'm I'm in full support. We've done this before to bring people in over the summer to help uh complete some tasks. Uh my concern is hiring another person even if it is for a temporary position. But if it's for

the full year, that's a an additional position in both of these departments. Um, and if we are going to be hiring another position, I would rather that position be used more towards education. I know that we continue to hear from our elementary school teachers about behaviors uh from students in the elementary school level. And I didn't I didn't know if it would be possible to combine this money to then become a behavioral specialist to see if that would help solve some of our problems at the elementary school. Um, and so that those are my two uh concerns or issues. So these positions as they are labeled, I I am not in support of the full position. If it's if we want to correct it and just make it summer or or change it to just

make it summer, I'm in support of that. >> So if I'm reading this properly, it says June 2026 through August 31st, 2026 and throughout. So is that and I'm asking hope is that correct or is it through 2627 so is it just a summer position and this was mislabeled or >> so I can I can say that it should just be summer not throughout 26 27 school year and that is uh uh something I missed on my part. This was what the previous description and I just make sure that information on behalf >> use your microphone. That's okay. I motion that for both those items that we remove and throughout the 2026 2027 school year >> to me I just have a comment. Um for instance uh the person for summer maintenance I think >>

we should vote on this amendment though. Can we have conversation? We got discussion. We got discussion >> after we vote on this or not vote until we got we got first and second a second. Now we have discussion. >> All right. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> Now we have discussion. >> No discussion. >> I bet you're going to do a voice on >> Yes. >> Go ahead. Go ahead. Sorry for the interruption. No worries. Um the way I handle the maintenance for the last seven years is Evan Shu is a junior in high school right now. So he's he works um the summer months and then Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter break um that's when he's available to help out if needed. So it's certain and it's $11 an hour. So it's certainly not

stamp as the whole school year. It's just when available any just to if that clears anything up. >> Yeah, it was just miswritten is what it was. All right. So, let's do a roll call vote on the amendment on E and F. >> But wait a minute. So, but he's saying he wants to use it until the end of 2026, right? >> So, yeah. When available. >> When available. But that's not what we're voting on here. No. No. No. We're voting on it. It runs out August. >> August 31st. But what Bill's saying is he comes back, >> but he can. >> We need to edit it differently. We have to revise it differently. >> You got to vote on this one first. >> Yeah. You have to vote on this this revision first. But

we want to vote no on this. >> Yes. And then re and then revise it to read how we want to read it. Okay. >> All right. Are we all clear on that? Thank you, Robert. >> Okay. >> Motion to amend the motion and remove throughout the 2627 school year. Ritz, >> no. >> Sheer. >> No. No. >> Sorry. I don't want to leave. >> You don't want to. >> Do we have any mock trial participants here? Is that illegal? [laughter] >> Marshinger? >> No. >> Stein? >> No. Wilson, >> no. >> Bomb, >> no. >> White, >> no. >> So, now we need a motion to amend. >> So, it right. >> Sounds good the way it is. >> we can leave it as is now that I fully understand. It just sounds like

they're gonna take it full time as needed. It's almost like >> right this is as needed >> and and it's a high schooler can't then full-time and also >> right in the >> Yeah, I'm good with the explanation now. I was confused. >> Yes, I think we all were on that because it sounds like he it was going to be a full-time position with Right. That's exactly right. >> Go ahead. If it's a student, can we just not tonight in the future student employee which we have an option when uh we hire student employees just for future >> be just summer employment but what I would do is list as needed. >> Okay, any other questions? All right. So now we'll do a vote from A to >> H. >> Yes. >> As presented. >>

Wilson. >> Yes. Bomb. >> Yes. >> Baringer. >> Yes. >> Britz. >> Yes. >> Stein. >> Yes. >> Sher. >> Yeah. >> Wife. >> Yes. >> And welcome our new teachers. Uh, evidently they're not here this evening, but Lauren uh, Kent and Haley Wolf. Okay. Curriculum Eric. Curriculum board actions requested. So move >> second. Any questions? >> One last time. Do it. >> Yep. Roll call. [laughter] >> Bomb. >> Yes. >> Rick, >> yes. >> Wilson, >> yes. >> Shear, >> yes. >>

Time. >> Yes. >> White. >> Yes. >> And before everyone departs, uh, I truly want to thank everyone for coming out this evening and speaking, especially the students. that takes a lot and courage and and uh for what you believe in and stand up. So I truly appreciate all of you coming out. Um parents as well, thank you for coming out and standing up to do fundraising. Uh everyone at home, thank you for attending board. Thank you all. This concludes our adjournment. [clears throat] >> Motion to adjurnn. >> Move. Second >> second.
