All right, we'll call this uh meeting to order. This is the annual reorganization meeting of the board of school directors of the Upper Adams School District. My name is Gareth Booka. Our firm Saxon and Stump serves as district solicitor. And I'll get things started here this evening for our reorganization meeting. Mrs. Hobs, will you please call the role >> for hold over members? Correct. >> Miss Jal >> here. >> Mr. Lauren Leic >> here. >> Mrs. Plank >> here. >> Mr. Wiggle >> here. >> Miss Young >> here. >> Thank you. Before we proceed with the action items, is there anyone in the audience wishing to provide public comment on our reorganization action items which include election of board officers uh and uh setting uh dates for our board meetings in the coming year? Anyone
wish to provide public comment? Hearing none. Uh we'll proceed uh now with our first item which is the selection of a temporary president whose job will be to preside uh over the election of the board uh president. Uh their term will last five minutes perhaps [laughter] and uh at which point we'll turn things over to the board president. Uh at this time are there any nominations for the office of temporary president for this reorganization meeting? >> Sure. Also uh Madame Secretary and nominate Lauren Lustik as temporary president. >> Mr. Lustik is nominated as a temporary president. Are there any other nominations? Hearing none. Is there a motion to close nominations? So move. >> Is there a second? Second. Second. >> Thank you. Um, nominations are closed. All those in favor of the motion to close
nominations, please say I. >> I. >> Any opposed? All right. Mr. Lustik is um elected temporary president. Um, I do want to note uh we have received certificates of election from the Adams County Board of Elections. um certifying that Kay Halabah, John Lindamolder, Melissa Anders, and Matthew Lustik were duly elected to the office of school director in the Upper Adams School District for a term of four years uh on the November 4th municipal election. Um, at this time I'll turn things over to our temporary president who will swear in our new board members and reelected board member. Thank you. >> All right. Thank you very much. I have something that I need to read to you all. Um this is uh entitled the certificate of election and in uh it is almost identical to the
oath of office that you will be taking. So it gives you sort of advanced knowledge. I and the name do solemnly swear or affirm that I will support, obey and defend the Constitution of the United States and Constitution of the Commonwealth and that I will discharge the duties of my office with fidelity. The appointment of new members, we've already uh uh heard their names, but I'm going to repeat that. Melissa Anders, Kay Halabal, John Linda Mold Moulder, and Matthew Lustig. That takes us to the administration of the oath of office. The next order of business is to administer the oath of office to the members of the board. Uh, and I believe that I'm going to ask us all to stand, please, and repeat after me. Raise your right hand, please. >> Just the members.
Yes, correct. >> Raising right hand. I do solemnly swear >> I do solemnly swear >> that I will support, obey, and defend >> the Constitution of the United States >> and the Constitution of this Commonwealth >> and the Constitution of this Commonwealth >> and that I will discharge the duties of my office with fidelity. >> I will discharge the duties of my office with fidelity. Congratulations and please be seated. [clears throat] >> Nominations are now in order for the office of board president. Do I hear any nominations? >> I nominate Neil Wagel. >> I would No, I would like to nominate uh Trish Blank. Trisha Blank. >> Okay. Are there any additional nominations? Do I hear then uh a motion to close nominations? Please >> make a motion to close nominations. >> Is there a
second? >> Second. >> Okay. >> I'm sorry. Who is second? >> Thank you. >> All those in favor of the motion to close nominations for the nominees shall signify by saying I. >> Are there any opposed? Say no. Hearing none. Uh that is carried. I now ask uh for a roll call vote please to be had to be held. >> Yeah, we could vote in order of nomination or if it's acceptable to the temporary president as Mrs. Hobbs calls the role. Each member can indicate your preference uh between the two nominees that have been uh put forward. Is that clear to everyone? I >> recommend that's probably the easier approach if it's okay with you. >> And it certainly is. Thank you. >> Miss Jal, >> Mrs. Plank, >> Miss Anders, >> Mrs. Plank, >>
Mrs. Halib, >> Mr. Waggle, >> Mr. Lyndon Moulder, >> Mr. Wiggle, >> Mr. Lauren Lustik, >> uh, Mrs. Plank, please. >> Mr. Matthew Lustik, >> Mr. Wagle, >> Mrs. Plank, >> myself, >> Mr. Wigle, >> Miss Young, >> Mrs. plank. >> I have five for Mrs. Plank >> and four for Mr. Wel. >> Thank you. >> At this time then uh Mrs. Plank will assume the uh chair and preside over the election of a vice president. >> Okay. [clears throat] You want to trade places or do you want to go? >> I'll just easier. >> Okay. >> All right. Nominations are now in order for the office of board vice president. Do I hear any nominations? >> I nominate Mr. Wagel. Are there any other nominations? >> Any other nominations? >> No. If there are
no more nominations, I mo I make a motion to close nominations. >> Second. >> All right. All those in favor of the motion to close nominations for the nominees shall signify by saying I. >> I. >> All those opposed should signify by saying [music] nay. >> Let's follow the same procedure then if that's acceptable. Mrs. Plank and we'll have a roll call vote and uh as your name is called indicate your preference as between the two uh nominees that have been put forward. >> Miss Anders. >> Um Mr. Miss Javal, >> Mr. Leic, >> Mrs. Hollow, >> Mr. Waggle, >> Miss London Moulder, >> Mr. Wagle, >> Miss Lauren Leic, >> Mr. Wagle, [clears throat] >> Mr. Math Lustik, >> abstain. >> Mrs. Plank, >> uh, Mr. Leic, >> Mr. Wel, >> Mr. Michon Cover
>> Mr. Listing >> Five for Mr. Listic, three for Mr. Wigle and Lamstein. >> Mr. Lustig is elected board vice president. >> Right. Nominations are now in order for the office of treasurer. Do I hear any nominations? I nominate Mr. Wigel. >> Are there any other nominations for treasurer? >> All right. If there are no more nominations, motion to close nominations is [music] now in order. >> So moved. >> Second. >> Right. All those in favor of the motion to close nominations for the nominees shall signify by saying I. >> I. All those opposed signify by saying no. >> Can we have a roll call vote at this time on the nomination of Mr. Wel as board treasurer, please? >> Miss Anders, >> who am I supposed to say who I want? >> This is
just for Mr. Wyel, the board treasur. So you can say yay or nay. >> Oh, yay. Miss Jal, >> yay. >> Mrs. Hollow, >> yes. >> Miss Linda, Mr. Landon Moulder, >> yay. >> Mr. Leic, Matt Leustic, I'm sorry. >> Yay. >> Miss Mr. Lauren Leic. >> Uh, yes. >> Mrs. Plank. >> Yes. >> Mr. Wagel. >> Uh, yes. >> Miss Young Cover. >> Yes. >> Motion carries. >> [clears throat] >> Now, it suggests here there's an appointment of committee chairs and representatives. I'm assuming I'll have extra time to do that. I'm not I'm not necessarily prepared to do that at the moment. >> Do that, please. >> So, what I would suggest, Mrs. blank if it's agreeable. Uh the listing of the committees have been circulated. Uh board members uh may uh contact you
to express interest and uh committee assignments can be finalized at the at the next meeting. Would that work for you, Mrs. HS? Do we need to take action tonight on those assignments? >> We do. Um, just because we have a we had to do a meet and greet for negotiations prior to a certain date in January, we do have that pencil in for the committee meeting in January to happen before that January 6th committee meeting. >> Can I do it before that meeting? >> January 6 is the first meeting. Correct. >> And we don't have any other meetings in this month. So what I would recommend then uh we'll be discussing this in executive session following the meeting if it's agreeable the negotiations committee um can be ratified retroactively at the next meeting in January.
All the rest I assume would be fine to defer until the next meeting in January. I I think you should have some time to look at the committee listings, have members reach out and express interest uh and then defer action until the January meeting. I understand negotiations is >> and we would need an assignment for Cumberland Perry because they actually have their reorg meeting next week. >> Okay. >> So, if we could at least appoint a Cumberland Perry representative, please. >> Okay. I could do that. I can do that now. >> I think I'm comfortable doing that now. I would like to appoint Lauren Lustik. >> Does Mr. Lustik accept that? >> I certainly do. Yes, [laughter] I do. >> All right. All right. So, let's do that and then we'll defer the rest [clears
throat] until the January meeting and we'll discuss negotiations uh committee following the meetings this evening in executive session. >> Okay. >> All right. I have a motion to adjurnn. >> Have a second. >> Second. >> We're journed. [laughter] >> So then we will not start our business meeting until 700 p.m. because that's what we have advertised. It allows Mrs. Plank a chance to come up to this area as well. slide over here if that's okay. Yes, sir. Mrs. HS, do we sign these? >> Yes, please. >> Okay.
