001here. Member Ruland here. Bryant here. Eisen present. Candace Eisenbr. >> And number three, pledge of allegiance. >> I aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Okay. Number four, moment of reflection or prayer. Sally, you have anything for us tonight? >> I'll find something down on you. >> I know. And it's been a day. I should have done more of this today with everything else I was trying to do. Oh, trying to think what I >> You just want to pray or you don't have to be put on the spot. >> You could pray. >> Yeah. Sorry. Put you on the spot. >> Yeah. >> No. Here we go. Here's a good one

002for tonight. Proverbs 1:7. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. But fools despise wisdom and instruction. Sally's paraphrases, let us not be fools. Thank you. We have any conflicts of interest tonight? That's number five. If none can move on to number six, approve agenda. I'll make a motion to approve agenda. Second motion. We have a second. Any discussion? All in favor say I. >> I. Motion passes to approve the agenda. That we're on to number seven. Approve consent agenda. >> Motion to approve consent agenda. Second. Any discussion? All in favor say I. >> I. >> All oppose. Same signs. Motion passes to approve the consent agenda. Number eight, got open forum. And Sean, you got we have everybody else. I don't know. Just you tonight. We usually limit the uh the open

003form to about four minutes and we can't respond. So, we'll just look we'll just sit here and smile. >> Perfect. That's all I need from this afternoon. Um I just have three quick things. So um May 19th I am hosting a community meeting um because I want to hear from the community on where what things we want wall where we want wall to go um what we can improve um and that kind of stuff. So I'm having a facilitator come in and uh facilitate that for us. So it won't be me it'll be somebody outside. Um I would like uh members of the community including students to attend to this meeting. Um there'll be two sessions, one at noon and then one at 5:30. Um if you could let me know that you're coming, I

004would appreciate it because trying to keep the numbers manageable. Um so that everybody has a chance to voice their opinions and speed up without being afraid being in a large group of so once again that's May 19th at 12 and 5:30. >> You send me an email. I can send that out to you. >> We'll do. We'll do. Thank you. Um, the other thing I have is I do have some brochures here. I don't know if anybody's here. I will be at the CTA CTE career fair pushing this as well, but I have an incubator program for uh tech um businesses um for small businesses um for it's like a graduated program. We help you get started. We have graduated breads, that kind of stuff. If anyone wants those, just grab them and I'll be

005happy to give it or you can swing by my table at the CTE fair and I'll talk to you more about that as well. And the last thing that I need, and I think I probably just need to talk to Kelly, is I need the names of the graduating seniors so that we can get them on our mailboxes this year. >> That's all I have. Thank you. >> Thank you very much. That move on number nine, uh, student presentations, recognition, students of the month. First one we've got is middle school student of the month, Rona Frick. >> Yeah. So I want us to um stand up and recognize our students like we typically do. Our students of the month middle school as you sit is Winona Pricky and our high school sit up straight sir

006and be recognized is Autumn Autum is our senior and student of the month for high school. And what's kind of fun, I've also got a couple seniors here who have to stay through the entire meeting because they are here for their civics online civics class. They have to um do something is it with a civic meeting or something. So American government dual credit with the meeting report do so we're going to stay as long as we >> so kids I would like you to come around and let the board congratulate you either side >> we appreciate the businesses of law giving them some really nice prices >> you Good job. >> Good job. >> Thank you. something else. He could not be here, but I want to recognize Colt Sharp. Um, I invited him to

007come and present, but he just won second place in a statewide poetry writing contest put on by SDSU. It was a Jerome Norren poetry contest. hundreds of submissions and Colt got second place in the middle school division. It'll be um published in a book and he also won $75 for it. So um great job for Colt. The other presentation we have more presentation than recognition is you know when kids um go for these learning opportunities as I call them and are gone from school for a while I tell them if they present to you what they did then I can work on some attendance things when it comes to final exam and so forth. And so Zoe Posley is going to tell us tonight about her opportunity that she had this winter. Okay. Um, this

008year I was, um, this was our 25th human being at the Black Hills Stock Show. Um, it's a trade show located at the monument. Um, 10 days, I believe, and I was able to be by my family and help me be there for the week. I would like to start off with my experiences. Um, I learned about business, marketing, and customer service. Um, as the fourth generation of the family, um, I got to understand life skills and understanding how to run a local business. But like many of us generational agriculture family local areas around here um I had the opportunity to implant many life skills such as public speaking, marketing, persuasive reading, writing and speaking every and also everyday math. Um this is a really big part of my week. Um I was able to

009do a lot of media experience. Um, I was interviewed by the news and then by the Brandon Jones Road Show Radio broadcasting. Um, they came up to the booth and I was able to um, talk about my family legacy and able to talk about what I love most and it was very special to be able to be on the radio show and the news to present the week and everything. Um, my favorite thing is to talk about our family business and how our legacy has become such a big thing in South other states. Also would um I got to work with a photo um with influencers and got to go along with photo shoots and stuff and help with our social media to gain more followers and get our business name out there as much

010as possible. Um, I got to work with a lot of people. Um, I was probably talking to 100 to 200 people a day or even more. Um, that could either be like five minutes to talking with them or even an hour or so. Um, trying to find them their perfect piece. Um, this year I was able to make a lot of custom designs for a lot of my customers. Um, like this lady is named Jill and I got to make her her custom piece and was able to meet her here. Um, here's a picture of our booth and stuff, just our big setup. And this is like probably the last people you'll see at our booth. We usually have two or three lines of people waiting to come up and talk to us and everything.

011So, that was really awesome. Um, I say I would u felt confidence talking with people and being able to really socialize and be very good conversations with everybody. Um, there's a lot behind the scenes to this trade show. Um, after our Christmas season, we start preparing for this show. Um, you have to get the right inventory and product for this and we go through a lot of products and everything. So it is weeks and weeks of preparing and getting the booth ready and making look into this in only two days. So we have to take everything from a trailer to all the way up to rapid and make it as possible. Um I have to be with a lot of my family members but also with a lot of other businesses. um this year a

012lot of other businesses for partnerships for um on social media so we could try to make both of our businesses get more followers and more interaction. Um I learned how not only could support our local business but others. Um I spent time working along my family such as my grandparents, my aunt, my uncle, my mom and a lot of our other employees. Um this year was really awesome. I got to talk to a lot of the people around the booth and got to talk to them and see what we could do to try to get the whole community um making more people come to this show. Um I'm very proud to be the fourth generation of this business. Um it's a lot. It means a lot to be able to be a part of it

013and to communicate with so many different people around the world and to be able to share our family. Thank you. Um I think it's interesting. Do you remember Zoe came and presented last year about her trip to Arizona where they went and mined the stones? So, um, it's it's been fun to watch what Zoe's been able to be a part of with her family business. And I sit here and think if we wouldn't allow some of these, these kids are going to miss out on some of those opportunities, um, to do some of those pieces. Now, I do put a stop to things where it's if a kid wants to stay home and do chores all day, you got to go to school. So, >> that's good learning. That's good learning. Certainly is probably some

014of the same stuff. When you guys went to Arizona, you're probably bringing back some of that. It's going into this project. Yeah. Well, certainly. >> Yes. >> Come let us know the next time you go. That's fine. >> Um, okay. With that, we're going to move on to number 10, student council reports. >> I want you to make sure because I didn't do all of the um celebrations like because I think you're going to hit a couple of the things with your report. So, I want Tyler Hines. Um she's on our student council, a senior on our student council. She's going to share with you some of the work that the kids have been doing over the last month. Um, so everybody already knows about this one, but state basketball happened um in between last

015minute and this one. That was a third, right? >> We got we got third. Um, yeah, congratulations. It already happened, but you know, it happened. Uh, and then prom. Prom was a good one this year. It was a lot of fun. Um, our DJ was good as usual. Um and then postpro I went to Tiki again and um yeah there was a lot of kids that attended this year and had a good time. Um and then state student council we went to that. I wasn't able to go but Zoe was and so I was wondering if she could say a few things about what happened there. >> Um I thought it was really awesome. The speaker Mike Smith was very encouraging with his um more about how to be bold in leadership. I thought that

016was awesome. Uh, I guess we talked more about how to bring the community and the school into more activities and more ideas and everything for the school community. >> And we're going to have student council elections coming up here >> shortly at the end of the month, right? >> Yep. We've been trying to get more kids to join and handing out like applications and stuff it seems like. So, uh, and then we also just had um state art. Uh, I went to that and I I placed there. And we had another girl, she placed um in the art contest. And then Bria, I guess I'll list them out. I know them. Bria Boomman placed um in art war. She got third in ceramics. And then um Hadley Bryant, she placed uh I believe second in

017color drawing in the state art contest. And then I placed uh second in digital art. And then uh I placed in state art wars uh third place in photography. And then Hadley, she got a really really cool award. Uh basically there's like over 400 pieces submitted to the state art contest. And um the arts director every year they do one they pick one that they like the most out of all of them. And Hadley Bryant got that um with one of her pieces and it's it's all displayed out there. I put that out today. Um, so yeah, really proud and it's a really really fun event and um, we really like the arts and yeah, art students really love it. Um, >> Jab is going to present. >> Yeah. Next, next um, student council meeting,

018we're going to have an actual presentation about the trip and um, what all goes into it because we prepare a long time for it and yeah um, but we decided to do the next one. Um and then next one is state FFA is coming up. Uh we leave this coming Sunday and we'll be gone for three four days I think. Uh it's the 19th 22nd. Um and yeah we have five teams going this year which is more than I being in FFA for quite like a while now. That's more than I remember going for a while. We have an a mechanics team going um a horse evaluation team going floriculture team going. Uh, milk quality team going and one more one more team going. I don't remember which one it is. There's a lot of

019categories. There's a lot of categories. But yeah, they did a lot. They we've competed at a couple and then we all at our last competition um made it to state and so we're really excited for that. We might actually have a chance at state too. I did the local We had a local contest too last week. >> Yep. We did a um one of in a long time. We have I don't think we've ever really done not in a long time done a um practice CDE competition at Wall. So, um we did that over at the powerhouse and we set up all the contesters for kids to practice uh going to state and we had like four other schools come I think. So, I'm going to do that again next year if we were able

020to and maybe actually make it a little bigger and stuff. And yeah, it was great. Um, and that's all I have here. Just any questions for me. >> So, what's did I mean I have some concept of what digital art might be? Is that computer animated? Is that how do you go about that? So digital art is um pretty broad, but um it typically involves like either digital illustrations or if you take a photo and digitally manipulate it in Photoshop. Um just an art piece that you could attach a statement to that means something to you. Basically art as a whole is really broad, but digital art um most of them that are submitted are just handdrawn illustrations and that's that's what mine is too that just illustration. So the skill there is really it's

021it's part of what you design and partly the mastery of using the computer. >> It's not easy. It's definitely Yeah, it's tricky and very very frustrating digital art class that we developed >> Last year. Yeah, I was I was in the guinea pig class for that one. Yeah. This year they did the um digital art was the first semester and the second semester was photography and it seems like they're really liking that and they actually got the Adobe products this year and >> yeah. >> So cool. >> Yeah, it's a lot of fun. >> Wow. >> Thank you. >> Anybody else have any questions? >> Move on. Thank you very much. Um, move on to number 11, committee reports. Start out with budget negotiations and insurance. Speak on that. >> We've accomplished negotiations and this

022week. Anybody any questions on it or anybody want to know what we did or go over later a little more? >> Yeah, we can discuss detail a little more later. >> Yeah, you'll be approving the the negotiated what was decided and then the revisions to the later on in agenda. We had several meetings that took place and thanks thanks to everybody involved. It's not negotiations aren't easy, but I think we all sat down and worked it out the best we could. Anyways, yeah, I believe >> I will contact. >> Okay, any other questions for us? Well, on to the next one, buildings, grounds, and transportation. We uh we just we just met actually, so everything should be pretty fresh in our minds. Um I don't know if any of you want to want to talk

023about any of that or >> I guess I can talk on the roof replacement update was more so just we're moving forward with replacing I think of the roof every year for the next five years because it's around 150 for every section of it. So it supposed to be in quite a bit of money. So we're doing it in a budgeted budgeting it every year and the only thing is just we're in the bidding day to kind of like going out to figure out what companies we want to use and stuff like that. Other than that there's really no other update on roof replacement. I don't think >> you know we're looking at some querifying I guess and legality of that I could add >> because the most important thing is if we go with

024one company whoever gets it has to we we want to continue using that same company the same material so it all seems good together is dangerous scares me a little bit by doing it in sections not from a budget standpoint but from a quality standpoint so we want to make sure we get make sure we can for sure use the same company for the next five years the same material at least and warranty wise. >> And warranty wise. Yes. So, we're going to start with the elementary waiting first. And that powerhouse update, you want to have that wrote out. I'll say it in layman's terms. We're hoping in May that we can uh take a vote to forward with the planning phase. So nothing set in stone. Have a community hearing that date later and

025lots of details to be worked out. But um collectively, you know, I think you're um aware of the situation there and what we're up against with maintaining that facility and and keeping it keeping our insurance in good standing um and the need for space here. And you know what what we would like to do and would propose to do is a full scale remodel of that building and put that into um good working order, make it a building we can all be proud of. So we'd like to bring that to you guys in May and discuss more then. Other than that, um there was a we got hit with a tariff on the bus. We got count 24 passenger. So that's a $2,500 tariff brings the purchase total on that bus to 184,000. I think

026we were at 1815 500 to 4. Can't do a lot about that right now. Proceed forward. That's all the more I have. Anything else >> other than this is the bus that we approved to go with the bid and purchased and they're building it now and they want us to sign a new sign a new purchase agreement based on the new price increase. I don't think we'll have another price increase. My understanding is I think they're going to be put in production now. >> And wasn't the price agreed that tariff the word tariff the tariff wording was in the original agreement was >> in case there was Yeah. >> This is a Thomas bus. It's a 44 passenger bus. Looks like a yellow bus, but it's white with individual seats, seat belts, and AC. So

027>> with a fancy wrap, but logo on it. Yeah. >> That's all, >> you know, the round the roundabout. >> Oh, yeah. >> We can mention that, too. >> We're We're working towards getting bids on the roundabout. the some people call it the eye store in the center out front here. We are um we got bids. We're thinking is right around give or take $20,000 to redo the rock or it's three times that do turf. We would take donations to do turf, but it's not looking like turf's going to happen. And at this point, I think we all decided that we're going to wait until after um after our budget comes out whether we have enough money to do that out front or it might just stay as is. if the budget doesn't allow us

028to do it because it's not needed. It's I mean it'd be nice but it's not a need. It's a want. So we're going to see how the budget comes out but that is in the plans if budget allows. If not we're going to wait pass it on another year. So >> what all would go into that 20,000? Like I I understand reviewing it, but it's not like a complete tear out and >> removal of rock, removal of the under barrier, replacing the barrier and then putting in >> new underllayment and then rock through a div. Is that part there's no beautifification to pass that from my understanding? Is there value in spending $20,000 just to put different rock down when we can just spray it a couple more times a year? >> Well, it's the

029black stuff pulling out and looking coming through and looking like and the only way to fix that is to take out all the rock and then >> I've got a bunch of rock at 810 North Dorothy Street if you guys want to get it out. >> But that but going back to your point though, yes, it is a lot of money for that. That's why we're going on budget and if budget doesn't allow we're not going to priorit I guess. So turf would be nice but like >> focusing and prioritizing on the roof first. >> Sure. >> Yeah. Well, I think that's about all we have unless anybody's got something else to add. Any questions? Um go on to the next one. curriculum instructional technology meeting talked about a lot of things. >> I don't

030know if you need to put I put the things that were mentioned. I don't think you got to go into detail, but those are um you want me to share some of these? >> Sure. Um science and reading curriculum the committee approved. you are getting new curriculum for science. Here's my here's where my mind is. I refuse to buy I'm just going to say it the way it is. Too much online curriculum, which is where everything is going right now. you put too much of that in front of kids and give that to teachers, it costs it's very expensive and teachers put that in front of kids and then they don't have to then we lose um face to face contact if we're not careful because they're working on a so what we've really done

031Becca and I I feel have done with the teacher really done a lot of work saying exactly what do you need online to design and to differentiate with students who need it and then how much we're also looking at our printing has gone up extremely. Well, part of that's my thing because what if I've come to the school and said more paper pencil, more guided notes, more working with your kids. Well, that creates more printing. So, our printing costs have gone up, our paper costs have gone up. So, Becca and I are trying to figure out, do we pay a little more for a consumable workbook or do we pay more to get some online pieces and do more printing? So, we're trying to balance that, keep budget budget, you know, savvy there. reading science

032of or yeah the science of reading is what I'm working on and we are getting the pieces that I know are really good pieces and we're bypassing some of the big packaged curriculum that call themselves science bridge special status and open enrollment. This is something um it's something that's coming up a lot in questioning to me and people are telling me we would like to possibly send our kids to wall. Will you let us open enroll and take some of our classes with wall? Um, and right now as it stands, unless policy thinks we need to change something, Sally, Dr. Sally approves open enrollment. The board approved special status. However, I have people asking me, we don't want to open enroll and waste our open enrollment if if you guys don't want us to um

033do like a part-time student. So, what I've got are some homeschool kids who want to enroll because they want our school, but they want to do some online class or not online, some homeschool classes. So, a part-time student. >> So, >> we have that policy about high schools and graduation and counting and all that. >> Right. But that's not >> right now. We don't allow we don't allow you that. >> It doesn't say anything against it. Hope, but that's where I'm needing to know. I will not lie to people. And so, I don't know for sure what to tell these folks. That's the only reason I need a policy committee meeting. I think it needs to be laid out clear. >> We do not allow our policy very says we do not allow special status

034for those. So are these high school homes school students? >> No. Well, what we do allow though you guys said remember you guys maybe we allowed open enrollment and they play our sports. >> Yeah. But that's not the same thing as special status, >> right? No, but it's open enrollment and then once they are our student, they are our student, they are our full-fledged student. So, we need to have that discussion. I don't know if this is the right place, but that's the one thing that I wanted to my policy meeting. People are asking wanting to um >> So, what would be the I guess yeah, maybe you said a policy piece. >> Here's where I am with it. I'm a believer. they start over here, they're going to want to come over here for

035more than just a class or two. Right now, public school doesn't have the strongest face. I don't worry about that because I know what we offer at Wall and I feel once people I've already see it happening. People start coming wanting to go to one or two classes and guess what they're want to take more and more. I think we just have to be careful and this why I say you might want to take the policy because we don't want to say yes and then have homeschool students who are who are special status that are elementary middle school kids but then we don't allow our students who are elementary middle school students to be special status students. I think there's a fine line there that we need to discuss that more. >> We just haven't

036talked to >> you think that's a policy committee discussion >> so that we're clear and we haven't written down. >> I think homeschooled kids we've never said no to them coming and taking classes. You know what I mean? Because I think >> they have done that before. >> I view it a tiny bit different when they live in district versus out of district. And I don't know if I know enough to form that opinion fully. Um, but you know, our district is to serve the needs of our district. Whether or not I think you'll come here or won't come here, we'll play supports. Um, I just don't know what that fully opens up. And I actually budget committee wise, the next time we talk, I would like to have a refresher course on that >>

037on the policies on not just the policies, but a little bit of how the funding works because I'm very blurry. I mean I know that um you know in I don't want to put a burden on our school or our teachers and I should say burden education is not a burden but at some point in time you know our efforts need to be primarily focused on who's in the district and if we put a burden on the teachers and staff I don't feel like that's doing the kids right even though I'm I'm fine with part time or attending classes. Uh I don't know if they can come to the student as an open enrollment. We do get funding for it to help the staff >> if they if they're open enrollment partial, but I don't

038know if that's if you're part-time. I think so. >> Yeah. Get a percentage of every class. So >> even if you're parttime Oh yeah. So like if I 50% of my classes here, >> then um we we get 50% of the funding. Now, if they take our online classes but do them at home, we get 100%. >> I knew that if if you go through the nor >> if you do what we >> Yeah. So, I guess that's my question. I guess I just refresher on that. >> Um the other things, well, school was chosen for a DOE test to monitor. Um we have not heard anything. Kelly hasn't heard anything from them. We did do all of our ACT testing and I think we just got in our junior ACT. Um what you will

039see is an average will go down when you test the whole shebang of kids. Um but we're still going through I'll give a report out on that here maybe in the main meeting. Uh math and science posting I talked to the committee about it. Those have been filled. I'll mention that in my report. uh March 27th PD we talked about and Mrs. Myers and I u Mrs. Myers more than I did it the other day. Um we really have been working hard on what grading procedures are and what what grading should resemble in our classes, what's it mean? And it we just will continue that because that's a lot of work. Um preschool, you guys asked me to get some information on preschool. The board has expressed a desire to look into a preschool. Um,

040next year seems really quick as you mentioned to me. Um, the state, Laura Shy, the state is pulling information for me if we need to do things such as it could mean another school structure if we include preschool within junior kindergarten um, depending on the needs of the kids. And I've also reached out to other schools. So, I'm still putting together some of that information. I can have things to you another committee meeting or board meeting in May. Parent teachers conferences. Um, I'm going to ask you in my report to be okay with us admin picking some dates. We cannot find a day outside of Wednesday that doesn't have an activity in any sense of the word. So I'd ask for, you know, some early releases. I don't think that's going to work. I think

041what's the best thing that we can come up with is do a Wednesday from release a little early 3 to 6. that puts in 3 hours and then the next Thursday 3 to 6 so that if there is an activity on that Thursday you can come on that Wednesday it still gets us out of here before church time it doesn't take much school time out of there gives two opportunities 6 hours of PT parent teachers time conference time and work it that way I I've racked my brain on that and then the calendar homecoming dates I'm going to talk about those a little bit later >> we also talked about the PE and health class right now is encouraging take those but that limits them to only one elective didn't go anywhere with that plan

042to put it anywhere else right now guys um partly because we put it as a sophomore and we're taking taking that we don't want to make it an option. I can discuss some things in later when we talk to personnel that might open up some more understanding of that. >> What the sophomores, juniors, you're taking away I >> the problem it's caused is that the freshman as they come to freshman when they have to take health and PE their first year, they're only allowed to take one elective. And so if they're going to be an FFA, that has to be an egg class. So that takes away all art, all music, all those >> that only has to be a half a seme, a half a half a year of agriculture. So if they take

043one class, one semester of agriculture, that's all it takes to be an FFA. Yeah. So Kelly and I have talked about some different options of some things they could do there where we could possibly get them a couple electives. You know, Hope's got a good point and we're going to talk about music later. Um if those kids don't have an opportunity to take music freshman year, it's hard for them to stay very come back. Um, so Kelly and I are really working into what that could look like and we still have we're still talking about that where that being class work in progress. Thank you very much. that any any questions or more discussion? If none, we're going to go on to next next committee here, which is legislation, policy, and strategic planning. >> We

044had to cancel. >> Amy, would you set up a meeting because we really need to get through that because people are asking. Okay, let's set a meeting and report back next next month. Um, I bought a career development scholarship and marketing. >> Did Kelly get packets? Hey, Chuck's got a good job. >> Yeah, we have one packet here. We just need um in the past we've had one board member who was on that committee to read the Brian scholarship applications. We got nine applicants. You got the score sheets and um we can have just one person on the one this committee do the um reading or you can just do all of them if you want. >> I think you're okay with them. >> You want all or just one? Just I didn't hear what

045you said. >> I can take them all. Sure. >> So that I don't know. Um that's I just have to pay Brian. I don't know anything about the other scholarships that board members might be stored. >> I thought she said today when we talked about it, Mr. Sor, that she was going to be getting something, but not right now. That's what she think there's one other one. >> There is another one. I don't remember the name of it, but I know there's another one >> scholarship due on Terry Peters Memorial Scholarship was just due on Friday. >> But is that a school board decision? >> I don't know, but that's just the ones that I know of. And then the greater moral one and that'll go to the bank. >> That one's due Wednesday. >>

046There was another one that's required that the board has to do. >> Yeah, I can't remember the name of that one. >> I thought there's personal. Yeah, they do that one personally. Yeah, >> I think she said that Mrs. Peters. >> Well, if there's one that Kelly has popped up, but to be fair, just send a group and >> yeah, the committee >> the committee a message that Yeah. Stop by. >> Okay. Move on to number 12. Approve surplus items for disposal or sale. >> I actually didn't have any items on the list this month. >> And number 13, approve no new proprietary accounting flag. Um I think I mentioned this to you guys in the past that we um would like to start another fund fund number 55 50 59 sorry um for CTE

047projects fund similar it's similar to it'll be similar to like our loss fund um hopefully start making those um CTE projects and those bigger projects like the mini home the sheds that they're working on and making that those bigger projects self- sustaining. So like um Dr. Sally will be talking about how they'll be having the auction this this week and so the sales from that auction will go into the fund and um hopefully pay for the products that was purchased to pay um make those. So, I would like to start uh funds for that, but I do need board approval to do that. Um, I sent um Garrett, Mr. Stroshine, and I worked on an accounting plan on how we would do that. I sent that to our auditors and got approval for them on

048the accounting side of it to make sure that was what we had to do for that. I bring forth a motion to approve CTE projects funds 59. Second motion and a second one question discussion. >> Let me say any discussion asking over >> any other discussion. >> Yeah. One one thing will the he teaches a finance class right in accounting or sometimes will they finance but the students be able to help track all that as part of that deal then? Yeah, that's um so >> like Amy >> would he want he's got so many classes uh is it a egg business, there's commodities, there's financing, there's about two or three different options and so some of that is to keep track but that is their club. So when they build their mini house >> No,

049this isn't for their club. This is for an accounting fund for it'd be just like another fund within the school. So we have like the general the capital outlay. It's just like it's another one after wasp. It's not there with the >> but isn't it for the mini house? >> Yes, but that's not their club fun. >> Okay. Sorry. The mini house the auction things. It's a fun to keep all that fun. I was just asking if the students will be responsible for monitoring the funds and paying bills and monitoring that stuff >> on a finance level. >> I know >> we can I can talk to him about it. That's a a good idea. Probably not this year obviously, but I can I can talk to him about it. >> Adding that into the

050curriculum, I think, is what like it cost us this much money if we sell it for this much have a little bit of overhead or whatever. right now. I think he um obviously keeps track of all that. I do as well, but um I think that'd be a good idea because then he needs the kids need to know what the bottom dollars is for them to sell the whatever, especially the mini home because there's going to be a lot that more that goes into that comparative shed. >> But essentially, this just this sustains the course. So for next year, they have the funds to purchase what they need. So like this year they'll probably break even. I mean because we're looking at first time, right? Obviously, >> but didn't we donate? Is there much donation?

051This not really off topic, but they they still make money because there's money donated to them to build it, right? >> So like this year we got a $10,000 donation from the Greater Wall Foundation that bought the um flatbread trailer, but that's for the mini home, but we won't see any profit out of that. >> I see. Okay. Um, so that's kind of going to be the wash because but um it's hard to say because they're going to auction off the shed. So we will they need to know that like what's the lowest bit, you know. So >> and then they are um there are we did surplus some of that old old um not but older um shop equipment from the old shop. So, they're going to be um auctioning off those and that

052will also go into this fund to help sustain some of their future projects. is the auction or the buildings and eventually the >> main how is that have you discussed with Mr. Thr how that's going to be marketed because I mean in this area limited is it going to be online or does he have a plan? >> Oh, as far as when we sell that. So like right now for the auction that's taking place on Friday. Um, we're getting we're hoping to get that out like he has been marketing that as and we're having >> somebody else today. We had I haven't seen anything online. >> there was a flyer that went out and I need to send it again. I have updated information. >> Take pictures of all the things that are for sale,

053>> but it is in the announcement section of our page and Facebook. There were a bunch of announcements that went out, so it could have gotten buried. um Facebook website, right, Becca? >> It's on both, >> but it does need help getting shared. There's >> hardly any website. >> Will there be a a way for people to bid online or anything like that just because it's it's a short window and I guess I think it does capitalize. >> We we need to do some more of that work. Um especially teacher. I pulled them in today and had a meeting with Chris and me and all of us and I said we need to kind of work through this. I know it's our first time. We're going to grow from here. So, the plan is to

054make this self- sustain. This this is to make this project self- sustaining. I also we he and I um applied for $195,000 state grant. We haven't been told yet. We had to have match money. So like the trailer that was donated, all the donations, all the other things, um, we showed as match money. So we'll see if we get any of that to add to this because none of your consumables can be purchased with any Perkins funding. So really, it's our budget that's got to supply the products, the materials for any shop things. If you guys have done any shop work lately, it's extremely expensive to do any projects out there. Amy and I are just thinking, "Holy smokes, what where do we find it?" So, I think Jared is thinking this is how we

055can help this is. But I'm going to say it right now. We're struggling to get kids to work. It's no different here at school than it is out in the workforce. Um, I think he's having to help finish up some sheds. He'd love to have kids stay after school and do some of those things. Um, yes, they're busy, but um, he's got some really good students, a few of them. They're trying to have a shed ready. They're trying to have several cornhole neat designed cornhole um, boards, several cool fire pits. They use a CNC table. What else is out there? a really nice little shed. And then we're hoping to have that mini home ready next year. >> We're also going to use that construction piece for internships and SAPs that want to do construction

056which will be a great they'll just go out there and work their internship. We made that discussion today with Chris and Becca working with internship classes. If we got construction, he'll be their supervisor and do some of that. Is it possible for the general public to come early like on a different day? I know there's another event taking place Friday evening as well. Not here, but it does impact a lot of locals. Is it possible like say come take a peek at >> it'll be over there >> on Friday like midday. >> Yeah, it might even be there Thursday night. Chris, do you remember that conversation that was so long ago this morning? They were >> he was talking about moving stuff >> thing is on Thursday and they're not going to have that down

057until >> No, but he was talking about moving stuff over there and I forget exactly. He's got coordinated with city on how that looks. But we got to get pictures out. You know what? We'll get pictures out first thing. now take pictures if I need to and get them put out because we ordered today, tonight. Let me work on that online bidding thing. I just think we we live in a pretty small community. It would it would limit the bidding a lot if most of us live in homes and don't need them. So think of that reach that will be done next year. >> That will be next year. But >> that would that's a good idea for something us to research for next year. Like if we can even have a couple of >>

058you remember those. >> Well, what you do is you man the the online bidding. So they're bidding online. That's your >> That's what Beck has. Yeah. As long as I get an old phone. That's my requirement. >> It has to keep the rotating down to teach the kids. That'd be a communication. >> There we go. >> Multi education. >> But anyways, okay. So, >> we had we had a motion. >> I think you answered my question. Thank you for the discussion. >> That's that's what it's for. Um, all in favor say I. I. I. All >> oppose. Same sign. Motion passes to approve the new proprietary accounting fund 159 for CTE projects. All right. Number 14, approve resolution 26-3 26 2026 2027 membership and South Florida High School Activities Association. Do we have a motion?

059>> I got it all under. >> It's not this. I'm ready for the next one. Got a motion. Got a second. >> The motion second. >> Any discussion? All in favor say I. >> I. >> All oppose. Same sign. Motion passes to approve the resolution 263 membership in South High School Activities Association. number. >> Um, what I've got for you tonight to look at, I didn't put it in your packets. I thought I could just throw it up here quickly. So, football schedules out for the next two years, and I would like your approval to add um to next fall, September 25th. So instead of this day being a an off day, that will now be a school day. Because we do approve the calendars, we approve that once we knew homecoming day, um that

060will be a homecoming day and it will turn green September 25th, 2026. The other request I have for you is um on the 2027, it will be this September 17th is um incoming day. Notice that you guys notice this calendar, but I pointed this out to you before. Yep. I pointed it out to you before. We start after Labor Day and Labor Day is as late as Labor Day can get that year. That's not even next fall, but the next fall. And so everything's going to seem extremely late. So that's first full week and then we'll do that's going to be quickly. But >> yeah, one year, one time, one time only. and you would have thought the rules. >> That's what I that's what I understand. Another thing with this whole um approval or

061this whole motion, what I would like you to do instead of bringing more days like I explained earlier, I really would like you to just approve my well, let's say administrative um decisions about when we're going to have parent teachers conferences, but I think we're leaning toward not really having early release on one day, but a couple three hours again just because the purpose of this is to make it accessible to parents, not for my convenience. And so two different days 306 motions on that R. >> Think we can probably bundle it into one, don't you think? Give me a second. >> I'll throw throw a shot at that. I will make a motion to approve calendar revisions to move home or make homecoming September 25th and 26, September 17 to 27 and also admin

062changing the um teacher parent conferences day whatever they see fit. >> Second >> motion in the second. Any discussion? >> All in favor say I. I >> save side. Motion passes to make homecoming September 25th, 2026 and and parent teachers conference. What day was that? determined admit determined for >> see you got too long. >> I know. I think maybe we should approach that up. Amy, I think uh we'll give you a minute to everything Tyrell said. >> I got her. >> All right. Number 16. approve 2026 and 2027 teacher negotiations. This is what we spent two days working on. >> So, you received them in your packet. Um, you want to go over them or um you just want to accept the >> Anybody has any questions? This would be a good time to

063to ask for maybe we could help answer this we can but you've all seen it and most of it's pretty self-explanatory by the time I got done. >> I have a question on number eight. >> Yeah. >> Who is an eligible employee? >> Oh number eight. Yeahation of health insurance premiums >> that would be um teachers. So this is for teachers. This is um this is just for our certified teachers and that are included within the negotiating agent and um only person that is um the school counselor that is not a teacher that's included. >> It's not classified or admin. >> Yep. This is not classified. This is not administration. This is just teachers. >> I shouldn't know that because this is a with the classifier. This is just the teacher contract. >> Y >>

064So the teachers are the only um collective bargaining group within. >> Does anybody else have questions? >> All right. as your time and forever hold your peace. If none of >> I do have a question. >> Oh, I was just trying to think past and maybe I I guess I know since this is teacher negotiations, the extra duty assignments that are negotiated here too, you know, like the the coaches and things like that, how how does that one time I guess? So when we're talking about like adding and removing coaching positions, why is that all included in >> I think the reason why we added it to that meeting is because the board already approved the dis the leave of >> it in the document. >> No, I'm just wondering why if it's like it's

065just teacher negotiation. >> Well, I should take that back. So it's not it that is a negotiated item within I don't know why but it's always been within it since I've been there and it's just for their pay. So like when it's there when a teacher or a coach or anything there it's an assignment. So it's the only thing that's negotiated for a coach is the pay. Now I wonder back in the day and I don't know how old your document is here but I wonder back in the day it was mostly how coaches were teachers teachers were coaches so that was hooked. You did used to have like we have today were coaching on the outside and such and so I wonder if that's kind of why it's because it's always been hooked with

066teachers >> but um because the contracts still have to be approved. >> Correct. So, like if I could always show you guys a sample um coach or extra duty um contract, but it's not even a contract, an assignment. It's more like an at will. Like, it's only for one year. It's not there's no 10ear like it is a one-year contract. Because the reason I'm asking is where we're talking about like where we're going to maybe pay volunteer coaches when that other coach can't be there. But if those aren't teachers, I guess I don't know what that why we're doing that now. Why that's included in saying doesn't need to be done. You're saying why >> it's a negotiated item so that it has to be within the that was what we're negotiating. So if that

067is a change >> No, no, I'm not saying that. I'm just I'm just curious. >> Yes. I just was curious to say that >> if if if we were to take it out of the like the coaching stuff out of it, that would be something that would have to be negotiated next year. >> So does that mean every year every coach should technically have to reassign for the job? Correct. >> No, we can renew. We can renew >> just like a teacher doesn't have to reapply just like an employee doesn't have to but we can not extend a cont or extend an assignment if there's non or non >> just non >> I think what Miranda was saying was not necessarily reapplying for their job but another negotiation or another it has >> like a

068review if you will review okay reevaluating y That was all that was my only question. >> Yeah. Now to bring it up in policy. >> Yeah, you guys get to see that again. >> Okay. Any other discussion? We have a motion 26 and 27. Second. >> We have a motion and a second. >> All in favor say I. Okay. Same sign. Motion passes to approve 2027 2020 2017 neotations. Uh now under 17 approved WA 2026-27 negotiate agreement. >> Make a motion to approve the 26.7 negotiated agreement. >> Motion in a second. Any discussion? >> All in favor say I. I agree. >> Say motion passes to approve WA 2026 and consider the agreement on 18. Approve special student status for 2026 27. >> You should have had that in your and if there's any discussion

069to be had that needs to be had in executive session. >> I would like to take you into executive session for that. So just say u can somebody make a motion to table >> I make a motion to table improve special student status for 2026 2027 >> after you're waiting on second Sorry. >> Trying to see if we can remember that, but I don't >> It says number one. >> Um, >> it's >> I'm talking for number one and two. >> Okay. >> Um, thank you. We have a second. Seconded. Okay. All in motion, all in favor of tableabling item number 18 until after executive session, say I. >> I. Both safe side. >> Motion passes to table until after executive session. Um, okay. Number 19, discuss student meal money for state qualifiers and non

070South Dakota High School Activities Association activities. Okay, that's um I'm not sure if I explained that yet. So, >> okay, so just a little bit. We do provide the meal money like you guys have approved in the past. Um and we set in our official entities in July for South Dakota High School Activities Associations state volunteers. So, it's the students that qualify for a state event to go to a state event, but we've only in the past paid for activities or students that have gone to the South Dakota High School Activities Association. So, FFA is one that is not a high school activities association activity. They're not recognized by them, but it's been around forever. It is like recognized by our school. We pay an advisor. Um, so I'm not sure if I mean like

071state art wars, we paid the students, you meal money, but that is the South Dakota High School's activities association. They are recognized by the state. Um I just wasn't sure um how this came about this year was um booster club is giving them money to go and they all booster club always contributes a little bit of money for the days that any state qualifier for any student in any of our um activities are going and they did um provide money for the FFA kits. So, I didn't know if that's something that we wanted to do as well. Um, but there are a lot of programs that are not school affiliated, but this is the only one that we also employ. That's what why this one is different than the others. If that matters any, I

072don't know. Amy brought it up to me. I said >> I think FCCLA is uh we don't have that organization right now active. >> What about the art? >> Yes, they are. They are they are >> shooting is >> tra shooting is not but we do not pay for their >> roio is not we don't pay for so there that's one that's >> not >> so I wasn't I was >> and it's it's as far as we know it's always been that way that >> we I never >> the one thing I am going to tell you is we keep track of FFA if the kids we watch, you know, behavior and all those things where I sign off that a student is in good standing for rodeo. I am not the fly my brother's

073keeper at that they and so there's a little more of a partnership with FFA. It's an it's an interesting, >> you know. Yeah. I mean, just so you guys are all aware, there's just discuss budget's going to be a little tight this year. Not not this would make or break it, but I guess given the president and we haven't done it for so many years, I don't know if now is the time that I in favor of you. My big deal is I'd like to say yes because there are our students and everything but when how do you say no to anything else after >> it's it is in the >> what's the entity say >> I think it just says >> it just I believe says the amount >> because I know we talked

074about during the July When I talk about the entities, >> does it just say state things or does it specifically say South? It just says student meal prices for state perm. >> And you said we haven't >> from what it sounds like we should be. From what you just read, >> I feel like we should be. This is we we pay an advisor. We expect our students to do FFA. It's an extracurricular. It's no different than the boys going to state basketball, football team going to state. It's no different than that. The and but I think it's on a smaller scale. I don't see how we can say no to this when we have to say yes to other things. >> Well, and the reason I brought it up because I always there's I I

075do a litmus test of the things in my my office. So like did they earn their way? So like they art wars they earn their way. Is it a high school activities association type of an event? So that's when like sports did they earn their way? Did they make it to the state tournament championship? Yes. Okay. Yes. Did they Is it a high school activities association? Yes. Same thing with artworks. They checked the boxes. Now with state FFA, did they earn their way? They had to go through and so they that box was checked. Yes. where I struggled was the it's not a high school activities association. That's where I are. Are you going to say no to the state trap kids? >> I'm sorry. >> Would you say no then to the state the

076kids that make it to state trap? >> I would not say no to that. >> Even though that's more of a club. I I wouldn't say no to that either. >> We just talked about spending $20,000 on locks. I think we can pay to feed our kids a sandwich. That's that's where I stand at. I know our budget's tight, but this couple hundred to send in six or eight kids to do something is not going to change what we do. >> No, that's two different. >> So, no. So, like I just want to clarify. So yeah, you're talking about you're comparing absolute. So like the rocks would be a capital project, >> which I get they do come from two different pots of money. Just that said, I'm not saying it's going to cost $20,000

077to feed the kids at FFA. We spend a lot more money on a lot less important things when we can vote on it. We can take it to committee. I don't care. I'm just saying >> it's the principle. But I see what you're saying. >> I do. I just want to know where you draw like >> I would I would feed all the kids like but then it's like well we have >> like Amy's test you know do they >> part of our we pay for all we don't do anything with the other for >> we provide transportation cost and everything >> we do so that's one thing is like when they take a school we do not provide a school vehicle for Romeo trap when they go as an FF18 they take their school

078vehicle and we do not make them use their custodial fun. Do we have to vote or do we have to have a motion for it? >> Yeah, we'll need to just take a >> Just keep in mind if the trap club was to come and ask for us to borrow a school vehicle, would that be I'm not saying because it was brought up. I >> something to think about. >> No, I'll be distracted. >> Gun deal. No. Okay. >> We've actually had quite a few concerns of respect with track and then going to track duty because it's about the school grounds. >> No, they cannot. >> Yeah. So, that's what the parents are asking questions. >> Do we want I don't think we need to know today >> they go to state here soon. So

079this is something if we could table it for this year and not do it this year and just set a precedent moving forward for FY27 or I just would like to have a clarity for this year and then we can maybe make a decision for next year when I don't know you I I'm struggling because we pay for the book. Sorry, they do that >> with their donation money or like they had the MFA >> Christmas. Yeah. >> So like it can depending on the students. So like the amount of excuse me that is a lot more than I don't even >> Oh I'm sorry >> cuz like that's like cash paid to cash. So um so we're talking it could be 5 to 10,000 bucks increase. There's like probably 16 kids going. >> I

080don't Is there >> It's more groups, right? >> What are we looking for on there? Um like money, state mail money on there because I'm paying back and pressed. >> Um so there would be >> they say art war meal money was $460. So that was for the art kids, >> five kids about you guys. There about 20 kids, maybe a little less, about 15 to 20 kids going to state. And now state boys basketball meal money was 2,390. It depends on how long there are and how many >> and >> it really varies because like basketball is a longer period. It's a tournament. >> Basketball was less, but there's more, you know, so variable. But I I guess I was I was an FFA kid and I guess I paid for my my lunch

081when I was there. >> Some kids might not be able to. So >> I I understand that. I just I struggle with it just a little bit given financial constraints, the fact that it is a club sport and just I don't know that I see it. I'm open to >> just because it was done a certain way when we were younger doesn't mean it has to be done that way now. >> No, I understand that. >> So, I'm I'm not a proponent for Well, I did it when I was that age. Like, it's our our goal to make it better for people going forward and that's why we're all sitting. I mean, whatever way we could we could table it, talk about the committee. We could vote on it now and we can see where

082everybody sits at. It doesn't regularly intervene. >> Oh, I'd like to make a motion. >> Have you thought through everything though? What this might bring up as far as other events? I think we should say table rodeo. >> We just did. We don't pay their advisors. We don't pay for their transportation. So, you're saying the same thing with trap. I'm sorry. I thought somebody said that trap, you supported doing trap and I was just thinking >> No, we just were discussing >> after Because of what Hope just got in saying, we pay for this, pay for this, pay for this, I would like to make a motion that we pay for their state meals just as we do all the other sports that are funded by the school district. >> I would second that. >>

083Are you saying FFA? >> Yes. >> specifically FFA because it's funded by the school district to a degree that that that is good. >> I'm not saying that. So say an FCCLA advisor is hired and it does become part of the curriculum. Are you we willing to revisit that? But that part of that it'll be discussed at that time. >> But I do think it should be added or however we need to we need to put it somewhere so that >> three years when there's a whole new board sitting here isn't the same exact >> so what we can do is pay for state meal money for FFA for 2026. That's my motion for this year and bring it up to policy. >> We can add some specificities or specific specifics to the the um

084official. >> Okay, perfect. >> As long as you just say FFA should be second. >> Got a motion. We got a second. All in favor say I. >> I'll pull the same sign. Motion passes to approve meal money for FFA students for 2026 state convention. >> Thank you. >> Will be revisited in the future. All right. Uh number 20, approve election board members and pay $250 a day. >> All right. So once again, we um so we will be having an election on June 2nd. Um, we will be sharing the election costs with the city of Wall and the town of WASA. Um, so the election workers have been established and have agreed in their Gary Johansson, Patty Benson, Pat C. Benson, Casey Gilmer, Diane Gel, and Pat Holen. um for the cost of $250

085a day, which is the same amount we paid last time we had an election that we shared with the state. So these amounts and these people will be approved by those other approval for that. >> So move the second. Any discussion? All in favor say I. the same side >> and this year we have an election and it's cont it's heated one out there and vote >> right for all positions we have two up for the two year we have three for two three years >> right so when will the candidates be announced and where so I could announce them now I suppose um so for the two-year position we have two candidates with one open position the candidate our candidates Eisen Brown and Linda Eisen Brown. And then for we have two open positions

086for the three-year positions and that um those candidates are Lex Heathershaw, Sharon Eisen Brown, and Mary Willow. >> Sharon. Okay. And the election will take place on June 2nd from Can you at the city? It's just >> Can you talk about that a little bit or are you allowed to just because we get a lot of questions. >> What do you question >> on how a coach? >> It doesn't make almost $5,000. He can't >> so >> he can't get paid. He won't the but he will choose to not be paid by one whenever that when he reach reaches that 5,000 threshold then he will sacrifice the wages at that and this was looked at and approved by the >> we had it right. Yes, we had this um before. Um there was not just

087Lex, but there was um questions asked about potential um if a board member could French for a school board position that was also a coach or was looking into being a coach. So, I did approach our school attorney about that and she said, which whenever they meet their five, because it state law statute says you can only make $5,000 if you're on the school board. And um they would either sacrifice their pay as a school board member or as a coach once they reach their $5,000. >> All right. >> Get out and vote. get out and vote. Yes. >> So, do we have a motion to approve affordable pay? >> We didn't. I didn't get the second. >> Get a second. Okay. We got a second from Miranda who motioned it. Tyrell motioned it. >>

088It passed at 7:22. >> Sounds good. All right. Number 21. Um, elementary principal report. >> Okay. I've got two things. Um, first spring concert's May 5th. We'll be sending stuff out, information out for that. Oh, I got more than two things. Got kindergarten screening on April 24th, Friday, April 24th. I think we've got last I saw we had 21 signed up and I don't know if everybody's going to come if they take preschool screening or kindergarten screening. And then the last thing, every year, uh, we have, every year since I've been here, we've had summer school. And, uh, this month, I want to ask you guys think about summer school again. And then I'll bring it up again in May. That's the end of my report. Do you guys have any questions? >> Thank you,

089Chuck. >> All right. Number 22, K12 assistant principal and tech coordinator report. >> So, we are in testing season. Um, ACT went off smoothly. We didn't have any glitches. I had quite a few questions from other districts on error codes, but we didn't experience any of those. And so far, um, our secure browser is looking to do the same. So, hopefully we'll have a smooth testing season. We did complete the light speeded adoption for that light speeded classroom. I should have it up and running by May 1 for all teachers and students. And that's all I have. number 23, business manager report. >> So, we've had a um impacted um schools of South Dakota, which is our South Dakota impact day. We need schools meeting in next week in here um at 11:30 time. Hope

090is going and Sally's going and I'm going. If there's anyone else that wants to go, just let Sally Hoper I know um I will be there for a business manager conference. So Sally and Hope will meet me there conference. >> My conference is Tuesday through that Thursday. So I will go there. Um the other thing I have um we have quite a few um CDs, individual CDs for our scholarships um that are at really really low rates um and aren't gaining any interest. Um, so what I have planned to do is I had Kelly look into each one of those scholarships to make sure that there wasn't anything within the written into the scholarships to see if they can be um move I track them separately in my accounting software but to see if they

091can be moved in together into one so they can start maturing um and getting more interest at a larger rate. I still track them individually. So I will be moving um there's six seven seven of them into one CD at the first interstate bank and then um they will be getting larger rates. So, I just wanted to let you guys know that I don't really if you want these, you can give me a simple approval and we can vote on that. But those are and a fund that similar to like our custodial accounts, but it's just to get those kids some get them higher cuz some of them get like in a year. Some of these smaller ones like that are at like balance of $3,000 to $5,000 get like three or four dollars a

092year with the CDs in because they're serviceable. So if we can combine them all together and have a higher interest on those CDs, we can potentially get more than that. So we can because we haven't even given scholarships out for a while for these ones because they don't have any they money to give essentially. So, do you want to does someone want to make an official um approval or are you guys just okay with census and the most I have >> you're spending any money combined? >> I think it makes sense. I don't census >> scholarship or no because this doesn't really affect that side of it. It's just Andy's world. >> Yeah. And um these are still auditing heavily and they're just gonna hopefully we can get the kids warm and scholarship money. So

093you guys still approve the scholarships? >> Yeah, I think we've got consensus right everybody. >> Um and I have all the official numbers so if anybody has any questions we're more than happy to ask but we're kind of rolling them in as they come due. like Sally gets just so you know so how it works as far as segregation of duty anytime a a statement or anything comes in from the bank Sally gets it before I open it and she opens it and a lot of times she'll circle the interest rate of like oh and I'm like I'm working on the one >> we have a plan and so they're really that's our plan for this year and I hope to we we have a plan for this for the end of this year so

094luckily we have them all ruled in by November. And as far as segregation or whatever duties there, um or I work there at Preser State Bank and I manage accounts, uh Brandy or Kristen is the one that actually physically make all the changes to these. I don't touch them. I just run I just print off Amy. I don't touch them else. So, um, and as far as the F say Brian one, that's the big big one, the 250 28,000 one. That one's with wealth management. So, that one's even outside of person. So, that one's that's a whole they write the checks and everything. So, that's not even through us. The school doesn't write the checks to the university. So, any questions? Awesome. That's all I have. >> Thanks. >> All right. Number 24, 6 to

09512, principal and superintendent. >> A lot of little things have come up. Um, I do need to go to executive session for items one and two. So, yeah, please. We had prom, as um Tyler said, it was a good night. We did have a fire alarm. Music was so loud it took me a while to hear the fire alarm. Um and it was pretty much fog, but um I called Chris out of his conference he was at to help me shut off the fire alarm. There was an officer here the whole night, entire night. So if anyone asked, he was here. Um we took 75 kids. Now with that I go not as a have to thing but the kids have asked me to go as a chaperone. We also had several other teachers go

096as chaperones. I believe the postp prompt party postprompt committee paid them to do that. It was it was successful. I think we are working on scheduling. Um here's one thing a shout out to Kelly. We rack our brains trying to do the things mentioned. We have a tentative schedule put in place, but as kids come and say, "I want this or I want that or I need to take this," then we refigure and we refigure and we ask teachers to sometimes put trick or read glasses in their room at the same time if it works out if they're small pieces. So, I feel we do a big job. I had a parent call me tonight about an open enrollment and and um just this evening and she said, "I'm struggling because it is hard to

097get um classes in a small school." And I said, "I can't tell you we work magic, but we work very hard to get our kids what they need." Um two positions. Now remember, you guys approve contracts. I um offer positions. So the first position I'm offering is more of a transfer. We did um offer she accepted the transfer from Jenna Elshire from elementary middle school science. Um the other one is we offered and he accepted is a music teacher to Doug Olsen recently at Lee Deadwood for the past two years. Before that he's been a musician all over the world kind of. He's got aging parents. He's got a place to live. Um he was here on Friday and just visited Cass Mrs. assignments in her classroom and worked on their concert music with them

098and played some and so forth. Kids came to me later and said we could please hire that man. >> He's also doing drama. >> Yes, he's also accepted if I mean we've offered and he said he would um be the head drama director >> and music director. City cleanup is April 23rd. We will do our regular K12 activity. I know we have two track meets going out. Uh the city you know typically we do this the first week of May, Wednesday the first week of May, but because of the energized conference in town, they wanted us to clean sooner. They were cleaning earlier and so we've got the 23rd. >> Yep. And so I've got lined up other people to take my spot. They can have as much make it as as chaotic as I

099as I can. So, we'll be all right. Oh, freshman impact is hopes, baby. Not freshman impact. >> Yep. >> Yes. Freshman impact. I always mix up freshman impact and impact age. >> You know how many times I texted that or emailed it to people? >> Too much impact. >> There's a lot of impact in our >> um April 29th that because it's here in W, it affects more than just our freshmen. We'll have kids in the skit. will have I know kids and staff helping hope as she has asked them to. So, it's exciting. Also, on the 25th, I told Rick McFersonson I would go to Saturday over to Crazy Horse. They're celebrating 20 years and I guess Wall was one of the first was the first and so they'd like representation at a launch

100and such. So I will I will go over there on the 25th to represent wall. If anyone wants to go with me, it's lunch on the 25th. Please let me know. >> If anybody is looking for volunteer hours that would like to donate eight hours of their time that day >> on which day? >> 29th. >> Oh, on the 29th. Do you know what? National Honor Society kids. >> What is it for? >> Freshman Impact. It's where you're involved. >> You're already Can I double it as volunteer hours? >> Huh? >> Could I double it as volunteers? >> You could do morning. You could do morning things over there if you have the time. >> Volunteer hours. >> Huh? >> Well, then do morning and then you just got to do skit stuff with me

101pretty much noon and later or early and later. So get with um the honor of national nation and oh national honor society. Um yeah on April 23rd Hope and I are going to impact a Yeah, I said that right. >> Impact aid of South Dakota. Um, hold on. Testing. I said that testing is done for our high schoolers and our middle schoolers will test next week. Then elementary the week after that. Teacher appreciation week is the first week of May. I don't know if we want to um do I've got my own things. We're doing some little fun things. Um, but know that that is teacher appreciation week. Um, I keep waiting for the week when things get quieter and it doesn't happen. So, they are doing a lot right now and it's a good

102place to be. That's about all I know. If I miss something, I feel like as we go, we discuss and we educate each other and that's a good place to be on the board of things. One thing I do want to say to my two students, well, it's because I'm a I'm an educator. You guys are here for your class. We are going they will move us into executive session and that is a time you can talk. They talk in private about just specific things and like um you can't just have open conversations in executive session. But I just want you guys to know as you write your reports, that's what that means when they move into that. >> It's usually about personnel or student people's names. >> Contract. Yeah. >> So once once you

103go in, you got to discuss that that only got to get out. I think we are I think we are a motion to segment session for South by law 1-2.5 one and two second >> motion and a second discussion favor say I >> all the same sign now enter executive session by 95-2.
