that you would stand as we ask Miss Luis Larkin to lead us in the pledge and ask that you would remain standing for a moment of silence, please. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. All right, we're going to kick off with our recognitions and good news awards. Dr. Snowton, you have designated. >> All right, >> I'm going to do the Franklin Special District Student Artist of the Month. So, this month it's Kinston Bar. If you're here, come on up. Is Kinson here? No. Oh, this is his artwork. Do you want to go ahead and do it? Should we do it? All right. Um, Kinson is a third grade student at
Moral Elementary. His mixed media collage bursts with creativity and imagination. He created his masterpiece in Mr. Reynolds art class as part of a skill review project to prepare students for the start of a new year in art. Students explored the color spectrum and experimented with a variety of drawing and painting techniques using markers, oil pastels, paint sticks, and tempora paint. Inspired by the vibrant art supplies they love to use in class, these young artists create a bright and cheerful collage full of color and creativity, which you can see around the room. You can view Kinson's artwork along with other pieces by more elementary artists at the central office gallery. And Kitten will be getting a Sonic Drive-In gift card. And we thank Chuck Sug for his support of the student artist of the month program.

Uh public input. There's a podium to my right if there is anyone here for public
input. Seeing no one, we declare that public input is now closed. Uh, teaching and learning report, Dr. Decker. >> Yes, sir. Thank you. Tonight, the teaching and learning spotlight shines on the FSD website. It has a whole new look and functionality, and we're excited to share some highlights of it with you this evening. Behind the scenes, several teaching and learning team members, including Susanna Gentry, Shelley Robinson, Amber Whitley, Drew Bingham, worked with Final Sight and with Metal 5 as well on these updates, and I'm going to turn it over to them right now. Thank you. Uh Dr. Whitley is going to drive tonight, so you'll be you'll be seeing on the screens what I'm speaking to right now. Following our brand refresh with Metal 5, we used this opportunity to reimagine our website as more
than just an information hub. The new site is designed to be an outreach, marketing, and recruitment tool, one that truly reflects the energy and excellence of Franklin Special District. Um, we're going to start with our homepage. And right from the homepage, the focus is on inviting families to discover who we are. Visitors are greeted with bold imagery, concise me messaging, and clear pathways to take action. At the top, you'll see a call to action button. Um well, three of them on the on the side to the right that say inquire, enroll, and FAQs. And and each of those go to those categories, all placed for quick, easy access. Whether you're a prospective parent, a a community member or someone exploring our district for the first time. The goal is to make it effortless to get
involved or learn more. So, as you scroll down the f the homepage, um you'll see some quick links. We've refined our quick links section. We studied other high performing school districts and identified the most used navigation items on our site and on theirs and combined those insights to create links that our families can rely on most. This ensures that both new visitors and returning families can quickly find what they need. From calendars and lunch menus to Skyward in transportation. On the previous site, our career section was a little hidden we discovered. Now it's front and center. With a single click, potential applicants can learn about openings, district culture, and benefits. This reflects our commitment to attracting great educators and staff members. Then you scroll down just a little bit more and you come to our
showcase section. We added the showcase sections to spotlight what makes our district unique on our homepage and what makes each of our schools special on theirs. Every school has its own page, um, its own homepage that looks a little bit similar to the district page, featuring programs, achievements, and highlights that show off its unique character. These sections are perfect for families exploring which school might be the right fit, and they help us share stories that set our district apart. Scroll a little bit further, and you'll find testimonials, news, and events. You'll see the testimonials on the district homepage as well of as well as all of the school homepages from students, parents, community members, and staff. Authentic voices that speak to the FSD experience. Our news and events are presented in a refreshed format. We
had those on the old site, but these are in a little bit more modern um application, making it easier to scan upcoming dates and district headlines at a glance. Scroll a little bit further and you'll find our by the numbers section. It provides quick compelling stats, our enrollment, staff achievements, and student success rates. All designed to communicate credibility and pride in a simple snapshot. Those are tailored to each school with the input from all of the principles as well as combined at the district level um with district insights. We're debuting our new district You guys have already seen that in past board meetings. So, our online version you can find under our district FSD guide and it will pull up a PDF version of the district guide. What you see here is a printable PDF
that will soon evolve into a full web version, making it easier for families and community members to explore district information digitally. So, while this right now is a version you can read online, you can print as a PDF, um we have some um partners who are working with us to deconstruct that into an HTML format so that it is ADA accessible and you can read it through that format as well. In closing, um let's take a look at your page, the schoolboard page. This will give you a little bit of an insight as to what our interior pages look like. Uh the the the pages have been streamlined for clarity, easy access to meeting dates, agendas, and member information, helping reinforce transparency and community engagement. Overall, this redesign moves our website from being purelyformational to
being a strategic communication and engagement platform that represents Franklin Special District's brand with pride. We hope you will find it that way as well. We were proud of our our old site. It served us very well. But as we move into an age of recruitment and marketing, this um step up to that platform um has been very well received in our community. We've added some places where people can submit forms to learn more, to book tours. We've already gotten um over 10 of those just since we launched a few weeks ago. So um the campaigns that we have been conducting online are sending families to our website where they then come to the form submit it and within a day Lisa Klouse sends this to the principles who are mentioned the schools who are mentioned
or the programs who are mentioned as um as needing more information from our visitors. So I hope you like it. We had fun making it. We can say it was fun now back in. Thank you for the opportunity. >> Thank you. >> Any questions? >> Looks amazing. Thank you. >> Just a comment. >> That's great. That's great. >> Approval of board agenda. Is there a motion? >> Motion to approve the board agenda. Is there a >> second? >> Sparker. All in favor? Thank you. Approval of the consent agenda. Is there a motion? Mr. Stillings. Is there a second? Newman. All in favor? Business before the board? Dr. Snow. >> Yes. Uh the only item we have business for the board is FDA grant funded equipment number two for your consideration and approval is the bid
award to mobile fixture for delivery and installation of kitchen equipment being purchased using a portion of the FDA research grant money. We talked about that in the first bid that the board approved. The recommended bid amount for these purchase equals $236,380. Future bid awards using this grant will follow numerically so they'll be easily identifiable in the minutes. We recommend approval of the bid award to mobile fixture as presented. >> Thank you sir. Is there a motion to approve towns? Is there a second? >> Second spell. Is there discussion? See no discussion. Let's roll call vote. Mr. Billings. >> Yes. >> Miss Newman. Yes. Bale. >> Yes. >> Mr. Townley. >> Yes. >> We are approved. Thank you. Right. Uh Dr. Snowden, director of schools report. >> Yes sir. Um first William Incorporated or business meets
education event. That was a recent event showcasing students and student opportunities for local business. We have an opportunity for administrators and others in FSD leadership to network and celebrate students. Our Papa Grove Middle School coral group were highlighted singing the national anthem. Certainly thank Chris Stleki the director and the students for their participation and we didn't necessarily like where they were staged up in there but they looked and sounded fantastic. So, uh, also like to thank all of you that could attend that day as well. New family open house was on October 23rd. All the FS FSD schools hosted open houses for families interested in learning more about our schools. The pack was also open for visitors to tour on that day. Uh based on the logs, the attendance logs that we received from the
schools, we had a total of 61 families who visited schools that day. Now, some probably visited more than one school. I know one parent did. So, uh but that was counting everyone that visited the schools, every family rather. The Veterans Day parade will be tomorrow. Uh, I think the weather's going to be rather chilly, >> but hopefully it'll warm up by the time the parade starts. We'll line up about 10:30. We'll have all schools represented as well as the FMS, Papa Grove Middle School bands, FIS Bulldog counselor, council, excuse me, our fourth graders representing the schools and then school ambassadors along with the story bus. And hopefully some of you or all of you will be able to to join us to walk in the parade. Thanksgiving break is November 24th through 28th. Schools and
district offices will be closed. The date is we do have a December meeting on the calendar. However, it is tentative on and we'll be deciding we'll get with the board chair looking at what if there is a need to have a December board meeting. Also, if you have topics or items for the board retreat scheduled for January the 10th, we would appreciate those. We will invite our legislators uh to join us whether or not they will attend. Last year, everyone, all of them attended. So, we'll see how their schedule is and whether or not they attend. And then, of course, the TSBA annual convention is this weekend at Gaylord Operand Hotel. That's all I have. Thank you. >> Thank you, sir. comments. >> I just wanted to have a brag moment and share that I
thought you um for the state of the schools address, you did a excellent job in um sharing our FSD story and um I received a lot of great comments about it and so I just wanted to publicly um acknowledge that um it was with compelling pride and um and and um great credibility. So thank you I concur. All right. Uh, teaching and learning, Dr. Decker. >> Nothing additional, sir. Thank you. >> Esinga, finance and administration. >> Yes. Our November sales tax collections were up 2.6% monthtomonth and 4.4% year-to-year. Let the Christmas shopping begin. All right. Any comments? All right. Announcements from the board. Uh quick comment. I know some of us uh attended the founders day celebration at the War Morris Hillry and Culture Center. I think Miss Colton was there. Could you just give

It was it was a a great great evening. Anyone else? All right. We have a leadership Franklin member in the audience, Miss Stephanie Be. Welcome. There is nothing else for the girl board.
