001We'll have our moment of silence and pledge of allegiance. So everybody stand for a moment of silence. Thank you for that. Um, we have Lexi Nava going to come lead us to the pledge of allegiance. Attention. >> I aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Thank you for that. >> Let's see. Brings us down into public input. do not have any stickers today. >> All right, I think I don't need to catch my breath. All right, that takes us into changes to the agenda. I believe the only addition we have is the uh overnight field trip that's been given to you for the to add to the consent agenda. Anything else? We

002got >> the ADA take time to the work session next month. >> Number one under new business. Um are there any objections to this? All right. consider that unanimous consent to change to the agenda. So that would be adding the field trip number four on the consent agenda and then removing number one ADA improvements at school facilities. All right, then that brings us to the approval of agenda. Move to approve the agenda. So move to approve the agenda. Is there a second? >> Second. All second discussion. All right. All those in favor of the approval of the agenda show by raising right hand. All right. 6 4 Z again. Motion passes. Consent agenda. Is there a motion to approve the consent agenda? So move Mr. Jan move to approve the consent agenda. Is there a

003second? >> Second. >> Don't second discussion. All those in favor then approving consent agenda then passes. All right. That brings us down then to committee reports. Got policy committee. I'll turn this over to Doug for the second reading. >> Uh the uh policy committee would like to recommend for second reading uh revised uh policy 6.312 use of personal communication devices and electronic devices uh with the additions that we approved on the first reading. So we would uh recommend to approve and adopt this on the second reading. So move Mr. Chair Doug to approve. >> Doug is moved to approve since it comes from committee. We don't need a second. Any discussion? All right. All those in favor of approving 6.312 use of wireless communication devices on S green by raising your right hand. All right.

004640 against that passes. Mr. Chairman, I'd like to also honor around the policy committee. I remind everybody that the next policy meeting is a special call meeting on November 24th at 5:30 here before the work session and any policies that need to be considered at that meeting need to be to run by end of business on the 11th. >> All right. Thank you for that. Um we have anything to add on the select or ad hoc committee report joint school board and commission. Anything on that? >> Um what we did just to give you the topics we talked about we talked we uh reported to the information about the egg building which they approved at their next meeting the funding. Uh we updated them on the on Talb and Jefferson Elementary and then there was

005a discussion on the garage. Uh it was decided I think I've mentioned this before that they would not at this point go forward with that without any without an additional uh quote from somebody and that they don't believe at this point they will need any help around. >> All right. Um Paul, you got anything for We uh sweat over the school needs assessment list uh which still getting worked on. Of course, there's always things being added to it as well and things that arise a couple hot water tanks or boilers that went out that have to get kind of put in the uh forefront. Uh we also went over the Jefferson Elementary School and elementary projects that are going on seem to be moving along pretty well. Um, we also went over the roofing projects

006which I think are now complete 100% if I'm not mistaken. >> We got some walkthroughs, but the roofing's done. >> Um, school zone lights, they're all up and running. I think all the little had a couple little glitches here and there, but they have to take care of um the um AG barn we discussed briefly. I think there's talk about it maybe being done by the end of this coming school year, which would be nice. Um and then a subject that came up that we may start looking at is the windows in schools in certain schools that may just have maybe start looking at some kind of a just energy efficiency problem. But now that's about all we have. Uh the next meeting I think originally supposed to be December 2nd was originally on it.

007We moved January 20th at >> 6:00. >> Yes. >> All right. Thank you for that. Mr. Chairman, >> yes, if I might. >> Uh, you're getting ready to move to another section, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. I said when I left said, don't start anything, but I can't can't help it. U, these uh committee reports, we never vote on them, correct? I mean, there's no motions made or anything. See, this is a business session, which is basically a motion, debate, and a vote. My question would would be, wouldn't it be more convenient if these reports were during a work session than if something came out of the report >> that it was like he just gave? >> Sounded good. And then we could ask that it be put on the agenda under new business. You

008kind of fall. I'm not trying to start anything. It just seems more logical to me. Uh and probably have more time to dis discuss and ask more questions. And then like you say, there's always good discussion in these meetings. And there's things maybe we could put on the agenda under new business. You know, you know, down we get down to here. We done set the agenda. We get down here then we have to suspend the rule. >> Yeah. >> Now, I don't know what the policy says. These committees are new to me as such since but think about just something to think about. I think we could just >> So to do that I think we have to to do that I think we'd have to revise the rules of procedure then >> what >>

009revise the rules of procedure >> I believe to do that we'd have to revise the rules of procedure. >> Okay I mean I'm just throwing out an idea. >> No it makes sense. We >> if it sounds good, fine. It sounded good to me. But if it don't sound good to you, for the majority of this board, we won't >> I'm not going to lose any sleep over as such. >> Yeah, we can uh we can get it to the policy. >> I got the policy. Yeah, >> I don't know where the policy says that these meetings go under work session or the business session. >> Well, let me let me ask you this. If in fact uh we do need to uh change policy. I think I think we're going to because of the

010rules of exchange are part of the policy. Would you like that to be on the next policy meeting? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. and put it uh that way everybody knows where it is. the truth. But if it sounds good to you all to be done during the work session during this meeting, we're voting and sometimes you feel like you got to get in a rush. Say, you know, we're moving down the page and made motions. But in a in a work session, pack supper, I say, you know, and then we can stay as long as we want to. and and you'll bring everybody several. >> All right. Thank you. Get that pause. All right. So, we don't have anything under unfinished business. So, then that brings down no business. And remember, we struck

011the ADA improvements at school facilities. So that puts us at number what's now the new number one. Mari Middle School football field light and I believe there's a a carry sheet from perfection here. Tom, you want to say anything on that? Um, you know, I I think we've talked a lot about it before just where um, you know, those lights are not really useful um, and you know, a game that they can't play games as late um, as they need to start time for people to get off work and get there. It's a rush. any game that goes late. Um, Lord, if they were playing football this time of year after the time change, I mean, it's rough over there. So, uh, they couldn't do it. They It's just it we've had a couple referees

012say, you know, this is not really safe. We can't see. U, so, you know, we we have to do something. Um, playing on Saturday or something's not an option. um for several reasons, but you know, just something to consider. Brought this before you and it's a little more detailed than than the last one even. So, so you know, it's up to you all, >> Mr. Chair. >> Yes. >> If I may like to make a motion, please. I move to utilize $595,456 I've got this written down sl uh from U 141 fund balance for the perfection group to replace lighting at Mori Middle School football field per document presented >> talking about the document right yes >> all right so >> the amount on that document If you >> the amount on that >> 95

013>> 596 456 >> you said 5.95 >> you said 595 >> I did >> I just did that to see if you >> 596 >> 456 >> and I still >> did I get it right Can we see one of those coaches? >> A motion. >> All right. >> Catch has moved to utilize $596,456 from fund mounts for the perfection group to replace light at war middle school football field. Um, per the document that has been presented, it's been seconded by Doug. Is there any discussion on that? >> Yeah. Well, just like Tommy was saying, there was lights been there a long time. Uh they expired to the point of being a safety problem and I think we need to go ahead and replace those now. Uh if we start now, I think they will

014be ready for next season, right? So, it's just a good time to do it. Okay. Anyone else got >> I do have a question. So we just replacing I mean I see a detailed list here things we just put for is this completely taking out the old system and putting in completely new lights everything. >> Yeah. So there's nothing there that'll be remaining. No electrical wiring, no box that we're using >> supports. >> There's no supports. Everything will be removed and everything will be plugged back. >> So everything be brand new? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Yes. There's nothing there that that could be safe. Anything else? All right. Moon will vote on the move to utilize $596,456 from fund mounts for the perfection group to replace light lighting at Mari Middle School football field

015per the document presented. All those in favor of this motion show by raising right hand. against motion passes. Then that brings us to the jac. And I've got a motion here on this one. So, I move to allocate $4,84,082 from fund balance for the Jefferson Middle School HVAC renovation project presented by Perfection Group. Is there a second? >> I got bill on that one. Discussion wise, well, it's got to be done. This will leave us, if we can get this finished, I think that'll just leave So, I think while we've got the funds to do it, let's take care of it and get it finished. Bill, you got anything you want to say? >> Good. Can >> we just ask how much we're going to be left with with the motion with the lights and

016with this being done? >> I appreciate that question. Um, I was I didn't know the amount for the Mari middle, so I want to make sure. Was it 596456? >> Yes, it is. >> Okay. So, if this one was to approve, you would still have $4.3 million on your unassigned fund balance. >> You started with 9.7. >> Good. >> Any other discussion? >> All right. All those in favor of the move to allocate $4,84,82 in fund balance to the J middle school HVAC renovation project by protection group by raising your right hand 6. That motion passes. Is there a second? Any discussion? All right. All those in favor of the move to move forward with the teach accountability report show by raising your right hand. 64 against that passes. All right, that brings us into the 2025 local education agency compliance report. >> Same as the TISA accountability report. We're looking for consideration of the board of this report to pass along to state. >> Is there a motion on this? >> Motion made a motion second. Any discussion? All right. All those in favor of the motion to forward the 2025 local education agency compliance compliance report show by raising right

018hand. 4 against that motion also passes. Now over to the really nice 2026 2027 JC JC JCS academic calendar which we saw the other night it was in our packet. All those in favor of approving the 2026 2027 JCS academic calendar by raising your right hand. 64 against once again. I am envious of that. Good job on all that stuff. I actually heard from I'd say about 15 or 20 teachers that were excited about that calendar. So that's good job everybody on that. All right. So then that brings us then to the Jefferson Elementary School design which was also in the work session packet that we looked at. Is there a motion on

019this? >> Mr. Chairman, I move to approve the Jefferson Elementary School schematic drawings as presented. >> All right. Is there a second? So at this point uh I think we should move ahead go to the next step. All right. I'm in agreement with that. Any other discussion? All right. 022right. >> I didn't put the date in because I didn't know the December date for the business session. That's why that was the meeting I intended was December meeting. >> It's not that's not a motion. Dr. Could you explain what the situation for the playoffs would be as far as tickets and things like that? >> Yes. >> For the football playoff games. >> I understand. >> Yeah. So once you get into playoffs, the TWSA controls those games. So we may be a host school but ticket sales are are through um TWWSAA they control that. So um we we are not allowed to let our employee ID the only thing that's accepted is a TWSAA ID card type thing. Uh so as much as I bought on that to our AD and principal, you know, it's

023out of our control as far as that goes. So um so that's how how that works. And then we play at home um tomorrow night and then if we win, we would travel to Middle Tennessee the following Friday. >> So So virtually I meanbody anybody doesn't have under those lead IDs as page to get in. >> That's correct. >> And has to go to the take the the ticket booth. >> Yes, that's correct. >> Yes. >> Yeah.
