I just wanted to say to you, don't make it I mean, don't don't feel bad when all these people leave after, you know, before we started. I mean, it's not that they don't like us. I don't think I think

they just wanted to do something else. I don't know. >> Don't worry about that. >> Congratulations. >> Now that we've cleared the room out, I guess we'll >> we'll move on to personnel reports. Dr. We >> board members. On page 27, item labeled 5A is our certified and classified personnel reports. You'll see those. I would recognize first of all that u I thank you for hosting the retirement reception this evening. Uh for those that were not able to be with us, we had 31 individuals who've announced their retirements since the since the board's reception last year, and we had opportunity to recognize those back in the focus room earlier this evening. Uh tonight, you'll see another six or seven names added to that list. Lisa Crouch from East Robertson High School, Dennis Ellison from IIA,

Anita Fentress, Heritage Elementary, Terry Gilbert from Coopertown Elementary, Carrie Linen, Springfield High, and Michelle Smith from Heritage Elementary. Uh, you will see several resignations. On the next page, we've started transfers for next year, and you see a list of leaves of absence. Following page on 29, you'll see the classified personnel report. And again, you'll see leaves, resignations, retirements, and other personnel actions that have been taken there. Thank you, sir. No questions. We'll move on to items. >> That's a lot of people leaving, sir. >> There are. and our uh our HR department is very busy and has started getting busy with those items. Uh several of the resignations and retirements um would remind you that we had a grow your own program. So we have 19 graduates from our grow your own program. They're going

to take a lot of those seats and fill those seats. We're excited to have that bunch in and uh we will be making those assignments in the next few days. I think you may see a couple of them couple of those on here. Uh but your next personnel reports will be quite busy. Thank you, sir. Moving on to item 6A, expense comparison report. >> Members, on 6A, page 31, you'll see the expenses that we've incurred, revenues and expenses. Uh revenues to date, 115.6 million, right at 80% of our budget, and expenditures 107.7 million, which is about 70% of our budget. Uh year-over-year we are uh you see the comparisons very similar in percentages. Uh you will see that uh we are $7 million in excess right now revenues over expenditures. We're excited about that. Uh

that is through March 31st and uh we hope that process continues through the end of the year. Uh revenues you see property taxes almost 100% of budgeted collected $19.4 million and sales tax 82% of collections 14.8. 8 uh million expenditures. Uh again, the one that I'm most worried about or the two that I'm most worried about, diesel and gasoline, you see, have really not uh shown up uh detrimental to our budget yet. I think those will continue to show up. Um and keep our eyes wide open on those two numbers. Diesel fuel so far, 62% of our budget, and gasoline, 49% of our budget. Um, still very optimistic about where those might go. Um, those do worries. >> We run out of our storage tanks yet. >> We may still have those somewhere that we

need to buy some guys. Worries me. Uh, the other expenditures again, electricity's running a little high. Um, which surprised me a little bit since we've not had that much warm weather so far. Uh salaries and insurance are are salaries where they need to be for sure. Insurance again looks a little high at this point in time and so uh we'll be working on those items for you to see. Detailed reports are contained in your uh consent agenda and you'll see those numbers that come to us from finance. Uh but again, these are a good summary of where we are uh as of March 31st. >> Thank you, sir. board members, you should all have a handout for tonight's budget amendment. >> Members, we'll label this item 6B. It is not numbered because it was completed

today. Uh you will see uh revenue amendments. Uh this is preparing for audit. So, we'll have one more budget amendment before the end of the year, I would imagine. Just to clarify an item so that they're in line with uh with what we are. I again I'm I'm I'm very proud of the work that our finance office has done and uh managing those expenses. Our department heads do a wonderful job of managing their individual budgets and um the economy has been good and we have uh we've been blessed with that. Uh but you will see uh numbers and these are both balanced budget amendments just moving items and moving items into the categories that they need to be placed in. Uh so you will see those um just additions, increases to revenues and increases to

expenditures. You'll see all throughout pages one, page two, you'll see some numbers move from some revenue and expense line items and anywhere you see those parentheses, you'll see decreases in those line items. So, uh, overall very pleased with that and, uh, you'll see some special projects that have been taken from those that that you had approved earlier and just again cleaning up those lines and getting things in the right categories, getting prepared for audit. >> Right. We've got a balanced budget amendment before us. Do we have any discussion or a motion? >> Motion to approve by Mr. Steven Ayes. Second. >> Was that a second by Mr. Scott Rice? >> All those in favor make it known by saying I. I. >> Any opposed? Motion passes 6. Moving on to administration school attendance report. >>

For members, page 32, item 7A contains the March and April numbers uh for attendance. And so uh you will see through there overall our district totals. Attendance in March 93.9% and for April 95.3%. Uh very pleased with those numbers. Overall, we're doing a good job in keeping um keeping our attendance rates high. Uh you do see several in the 96% range. White House Heritage Elementary, Woodall Elementary, Chrysler Elementary, and Green Bear Elementary all had 96% plus uh at the elementary school level. Congratulations to Green Bear Elementary for leading uh during the month of April. And uh I don't know what they're doing at White House Heritage High School, but they again have the April uh high score for our middle high schools, 98.4% attendance. Very pleased with those numbers. >> But a lot of the

schools really made jumps. Three and 4% up. I mean, that's good. >> I don't know what happened, but that's good. uh you will see in the third column the number of students with 20 or more absences. And again when we uh uh track these numbers, these are students who uh are defined as being chronically absent from school. And so regardless if they are uh excused or unexcused absences when a student uh misses actually this number this year should be around 17 um absences if they have 17 or more absences. uh but um particularly those that have 20 has been our reporting standard and so you'll see uh some of our schools uh with multiple students who have missed more than a month of school this year. Uh those continue to be a concern to us.

Uh our student services department, our social workers are working on them. We do have several outside groups that work with them. uh but um it is difficult uh to teach students who are not at school. Any further discussion on the school attendance report? All right. Item 8A, approval of pest control contract. >> Members, page 33 contains the pest control contract for the remainder of this year. It is an annual contract. uh starting May 1st and will continue for one year. Uh you'll see that Cooks Pest Control is the selected vendor for that and uh you'll see the price per building, price per school, and then other services as needed. I would recommend your approval for that contract, please. >> I make a motion we approve. >> Motion by Mr. Demetra White, >> Second by Miss

Connie Hogan. All those in favor make a note by saying I. >> I. Any opposed? >> You will note that is a change to our previous vendor and we had some uh issues with the performance on that contract and they were unable to fulfill that. So uh Cooks started with us on May 1st due to the other vendor being unable to perform those services. >> Thank you. Item 8, uh, executive committee report regards to housekeeping. Well, >> members, at our last meeting, you had, uh, directed us to, uh, break services with Jana King, and we did so. Our next bidder was HS facilities, and we believe that, uh, in accordance with directions of the, uh, comprollers's office, we have met the requirements of the auditors and the comprollers, uh, we have signed a one-year agreement

with Hes Services that will start on May 25th. and uh they understand that that uh that their bid is based on the specs that we put out last year and they understand that that is an annual contract that is subject to renewal or subject to this board's discretion of rebidding that. So we have signed that for yearly total the amount shown on the page there. Mr. White and I took this action uh I guess it was last week of April maybe the week maybe the week before that. So we would appreciate your confirmation of this service so we can submit that for audit as well. So we do need a motion on this to confirm >> to approve >> motion by Mr. Jeff White. Any discussion or a second? >> Second by Mr. Scott Rice.

>> All those in favor make it known by saying I. >> I. >> Any opposed? Motion passes 6. Item 8 C, uh, approval of bid for parking lot ceiling and striping. This is one that you also had a hand out for for board members um in front of you. We uh we took we accepted bids for a combined lump sum on two properties, White House Heritage Elementary and Central Office. Um the handout reflects the same information you saw previously on your page 35. However, we had one vendor that indicated they had placed their numbers in the wrong category. We have corrected that and so the the handout is a correct document. The low bidder for the combined lump sum is Reynolds ceiling and striping uh for White House Heritage Elementary and central office. The total

is $72,750. >> I get I'll wait till somebody makes a motion. >> Do do have we used real before? passed. >> Okay. >> Motion to approve Reynolds. >> Motion by Mr. Scott Rice to approve the bid the low bid from Reynolds ceiling and striping. Any discussion or a second? >> Did you get your second? >> Second. the my only issue is when you look at the prices on these is the scope of work that is going out covering things the way I mean we got a company that did 72 almost $73,000 on Heritage and only 16,000 on central office. They were the highest on one bid and the lowest on the other bid. Are they looking at the same things that these other companies are looking at? I mean, I've got three two that I

would just kick out simply from looking at their numbers. And 49,000 to do White House uh Heritage Elementary, that's low, y'all. I mean, I know it's their bid. I'm just saying that's a low bid. I hope we get good work. I think he said we've used them the last two years. >> Been the last two last two >> and we've been satisfied. >> I'm I'm good with I just I agree. >> How can the scope of work be that to get numbers like this? There's a mandatory preid meeting that you must be at in order for us to get in where we walk parking lots and go over everything need to be completed. So the scope of work is explained every vendor put here. >> Wow. Got some estimator issues. >> I'm good. Question. >>

All right. All we've got a motion in a second. All those in favor make it known by saying I. I. Any opposed? Motion passes 6 to award that bid to Reynolds, ceiling, and striping. Item 8B concerns facilities and land. >> Well, members, I hope to have some uh information regarding uh land purchase for you this evening. However, the uh the parties that we have been negotiating with have um withdrawn and indicated that they no longer have interest to selling us their property at this time. So, um, we we are exploring some other properties at this time and very early preliminary stages as we just became aware of that uh early morning today. So, again, we're we're looking at some other options that we may have. And again, I would say if you have options for

us or if you have uh directions in which you'd like us to look or any items that you'd like us to take uh in terms of looking at plan, we'd be glad to do that. Anything else on that for tonight? Moving on to item nine, communications. No communications. How about director of schools report? >> Uh would like to just again congratulate all the students that came through tonight. This is just a handful or a lot of activities going on this time of year. Uh banquetss, award banquetss, ceremonies, and other things. Um, it always amazes me to see these students and their middle school students come through and and you see um students who won academic awards, students are winning athletic awards and things of that nature and students that are doing a great job in

the classroom uh fine arts program. So, uh again, I'm just thankful to be a part of a system that provides lots of opportunities uh for any student to become involved and to be successful in those programs. Our teachers do a wonderful job of spending time with these students, particularly uh teachers that travel with these groups and help them become successful, put time into programs and um activities that they take care of and oversee. And again, I always say to our coaches and our our teachers, I think they do so much more than just coach a sport and uh direct plays or bands or choirs and things like that. They're developing young men and young women. So, I'm thankful for that. I think they've done a great job of that. Would also say um graduation season

is upon us and so starting Wednesday night, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, two Saturday, one Monday and one Tuesday will be our graduation schedule. I think you have those and if you need any dates or times or locations. I believe everyone is scheduled to be outside this year. Not looked at the weather and try not to until we get there that night. Uh but we have had all of our administrators uh they have developed a weather plan in case that's needed and they've communicated that to their students. Uh graduation practices will start I believe in the morning. Uh we're also thankful for uh churches and ministerial associations that are providing bular art services for many of our students and uh thankful for those. Um, summer school will be starting not very long from now for those students

that wish to take advantage of summer school or summer learning camps. And then uh again just a lot going on uh for the next eight eight or so days of school. I'm not counting but somebody may be. And finally I think Miss Hogan you said that I would like to recognize Mr. Bill Pearson who's in the room with us tonight. Bill, we congratulate you. Uh, Bill will officially take the seat uh for his district school board seat at our September meeting and we'll have a a ceremony celebrating Miss White and the work that she's done as well as welcoming Mr. Pearson uh to the board. So, that's all I have for the evening. >> We need to send him our meal request for the first meeting. >> For the first meeting. Yeah. >> I'm sorry.

I did have one other item. Uh board members, I think during our planning session tonight, we we talked about looking at possibility of May 28th, that is a Thursday evening for a planning session to look at our budget and maybe any other I'm going to put facilities and uh facilities and land on that in case we need to do anything with that. Uh does the 28th work for you? >> I can't be here the 28th, but if that works for everybody else, just send me the notes. I'm I'm the 28th. >> If the board wanted to work around that, are you out all the 28th, administrators? >> Yes. >> 27th as well? Uh, >> I'm gone the 21st through the 27th. Uh, >> 28, excuse me. >> I could e if the board's open to

it. I know with school being out, um, I can make anytime during the day on the 29th work if any of you work if any that work for anybody. >> I mean, I love y'all, but I don't know that I want to spend my birthday with you. >> If y'all want to go on do it on the 29th, that's fine. What else would you rather do? >> I don't know. >> You still celebrate birthdays? >> Okay. That >> I don't celebrate mine anymore. It's too too many of them. >> I wouldn't say I know you will. >> But she told him in the first grade, too. >> I I could do 27 28. I'm sorry. I could do 27 or 29 during the days if that works better for anybody. 28th I can do. And

again, we can meet as early as you want if you wanted to stick with that date. I I'm really if y'all can provide me an agenda beforehand, I can send my notes and thoughts on everything to get to y'all so y'all can meet on the 28th. That works for me. Whatever y'all need to do. Are you out of time? Are you >> I could also be available on the 21st. I don't know if that's any better for anybody. You said you're leaving on the 21st. >> Could make you out all day. 21st. >> Yes, sir. >> They got Wi-Fi on them. >> I'm not paying I'm not paying for the Wi-Fi. That's the whole point, isn't it? No, no Wi-Fi. >> That's right. Delivery with no Wi-Fi. >> My kids are My kids already looked

at the per per device data. They're making >> I can make 21 22 in the afternoon or 28th. >> 29th. >> 21 through 25. I'm gone. >> 28 29. >> I'm reading my calendar wrong. >> So, Friday morning, the 29th, what you'll be out, right? 29. >> I told you. >> Yeah. I mean the morning time. I didn't know about the morning. >> I'm gonna celebrate all day. >> I don't >> if we have it in the morning and we have a cake. >> Celebrate all maybe we spring a cake. You know, >> we want to celebrate with you. >> Yeah, I know you do. I appreciate that. >> I hope nobody's watching this. Okay. >> I guess 28th it is. I don't know what to do. Let's see. When do you present sir? >>

And Bill, normally we don't have this many special meetings. It's normally about two a year, but >> June June the 9th is the the board's meeting. No, I'm sorry. The board's budget goes county commission budget committee. >> June 9th. >> Will the 1st of June be a problem? >> I have a speaking engagement first and second. I And again, the board can certainly meet without me. Maybe I could have one of our assistants and our finance people here. >> I'm good either. >> I'm good that whole week. So, >> me too. >> I just know we don't need to get much closer to the ninth because it changes changes. >> Um, >> would the third be too late? I could do very late afternoon on the third. >> I'll be out the third. >> Is

it your birthday? >> No, I'm going fishing. >> I'm going to church at night. So tonight, >> how's the fourth work? >> I can do the fourth. >> June 4th. >> We're going to be without somebody. What time? >> Y'all missing somebody, do it on the 28th and I'll I'll send just send me an agenda and I'll send mine. If we got to pick one without somebody, do it on the 28th earlier so I'll have more of an input before it actually go. >> Well, we might have to meet again. >> It's true. >> True. >> Yeah, >> that's not a bad idea. >> As long as y'all can meet on the 28th and send me an agenda beforehand. >> Send us all your questions. Send send everybody all questions. >> Might as well do

that instead of delaying it till next week. Still missing something. Then we might end up having to do another. >> So the 28th is what I'm hearing. >> Sold. >> What time? I'm good. I'm good at the time. >> Yeah, I could I could do it. I mean, I could do it early after. Yeah, I could do it at >> 2 2:30 3. >> Did we decide on time? >> We're working on it. >> I can make that work. >> 2:30 on May 28th. We'll advertise that and provide public notice of that. That will be a special called meeting, not a study session in case we need to take action. Right. >> Stephen, you'll be nominated for a lot of stuff. >> And we can get some more data points we were asking for for

>> if you'll send if you'll send questions, we'll be glad to Okay. >> get all the data you need. >> Okay. All right. That was easy. >> Yeah. I I I will say I I'm glad to to work with a board that if that's the toughest thing we have to agree on as a as you as a governing body and administration >> toughest thing we've >> that's a that's a pleasure to work for you. I will say that. >> Thank you. U let's move on to comments by board members. Mr. Rice, we'll start with you tonight. I can't think of, you know, seeing the students. Um, one stood out to me. I was I was trying to think if I remember how many more students we had, but one received their associates degree >> being

in high school. That's a big deal. >> I mean, it really is when you think about the amount of work that student had to put in and she will graduate, I guess, being a junior in college. That's all provided through this school system. That's a big deal. That stood out to me. Awesome. Uh, congratulations to all our students here tonight. That was a lot of really good awards. Thank you'all for putting that together and everybody at the schools that did that. I know it means a lot to each of the kids that get invited. So, I appreciate that and looking forward to the graduation ceremonies this year. It's always a happy time and to see all the culmination of work that our students and our staff put into each and every kid. It's a it's

a it's a happy time and it's, you know, what we're all working towards here is graduates that are ready to go out and go further. So, uh, thank y'all to everybody that made that happen. >> Sir, Miss Oen, >> um, well, first of all, I'd just like to say thank you to everybody that has a part in Robertson County Schools. I'm not going to sit here and try to name all the different groups, you know, but, um, we've got some really great educators in this county and I'm very proud of them. Um, I do appreciate everybody's hard work. I do hope everybody has a wonderful summer. uh has, you know, some time off and some time to to uh enjoy with their families. Um but I'll have to say graduations, those ceremonies are my favorite

time of the school year because um that's what everybody's working for. You know, that's what everybody's hard work goes goes to. And it's just um I love to sit where I can see the faces of the graduates as they're handed that diploma. you know, you see on some of them the excitement, you see some of them are nervous, you see just all kinds of emotions, but I mean, I just think that's the neatest thing. And so, I mean, I I know we have a lot of graduations to go to, but it's it's pretty neat to be there. So, I appreciate that. >> Ma'am, Mr. Right. >> Uh Mark, I'm glad to go to church with you cuz I I'm not going to miss you like the others will, but just to sit back and and

see what you've done with CTE has been amazing. I know it's your baby and you've enjoyed every minute of it. Uh we're going to miss you there and thank you for everything you've done. And I saw a lot of other teachers and uh coaches that that were going to miss. That's one of the reasons I said we sure got a lot of shoes to fill. U so HR, you got your hands full. And uh I really am I'll go to what Scott was talking about. We was at Greenburn last year and them two girls come up there and both of them I guess it was Austin P come out there and give them their or had already given their associates degree. Wow. Yeah, that is pretty cool. So, that's all I got. What you got

tonight? >> Well, I was pretty excited to hear we've got 19 grow your own. That's that that's >> Yes. >> That that's pretty neat. And but I don't know if y'all kind of noticed what, you know, we had those and then we had the the seniors that were here to do the pledge. And one of those was, you know, so we were probably just from that we were probably looking at some doctors and lawyers and actresses and musicians and maybe a professional sports player. But I was it just it's something about that blue and gold when they walk in. I don't know. It just kind of gives me, you know, you need Anyway, Mr. Gregory, didn't that just make you proud, you know, that that CT I figure probably most of those that were in

here, they can probably weld and build stuff. I know they can work on tractors and uh that gives me hope that we're going to have food in the future. And so anyway, that was pretty neat and look forward to see people at graduations. Thank y'all all. Thank you, ma'am. I'll I'll join in on the FFA plug as well because I don't I don't work in the A sector, but I my time in FFA is probably the most beneficial to my professional life I've ever had. So, uh great in all aspects, but it's hard to believe it's graduation time again. You know, I've been on the board four years and it seems like I don't know if it's me getting older, my kids getting older, just being on the board, it's like graduation just gets here

quick. But, uh, like you said, Miss Connie, it's it's hard to leave any of those in a, you know, anything but a great mood. You see these students that are, you know, they've got the whole world ahead of them and and there's just a ton of excitement, and I always look forward to that every year. So, congratulations. Congratulations to all of our administrators and and and teachers. That's a I know by the time it gets to be this time of year, everybody's pretty tired, but but thank you'all for the work that y'all do. And um, hope everybody has a wonderful summer and look forward to seeing y'all this weekend a handful of times. Yes, we don't have anything else. We'll be adjourned.
