Welcome and thank you for being here tonight to celebrate Brazeswood High School's class of 2026. Graduates, congratulations for reaching this special milestone. In just a few moments, you will hear reflective and encouraging words from your classmates recounting your history as a graduating class and all that has brought you to this point. But just before that, I want you to know this. There is a light in each one of us that if we share it with and receive it from others gives us the power and the right to become who we're supposed to be, who we're purposed to be. And that's huge. That's huge because as

long as we are breathing, we are becoming. As long as we are living, we are growing. We're evolving to become who we were meant to be. And that's because true life looks upward and changes us inward so that we can step outward and answer the call of our purpose. Right now, you are standing and sitting at the cusp and the edge of your very own potential. From this day forward, from this moment forward, your highest past breakthrough officially becomes your new baseline. Every chapter from here will demand your potential be revealed and authenticated as proven capability. This moment is your ultimate testing ground. The exact place where theoretical talent is forced to become proven capability. The edge of your potential is where transformation begins for you. To stand at the boundary of who you are

and have the character and courage to leap into who you will become is your true calling. Remember, we do not arrive at the peak of our potential. We simply arrive at a higher ledge that requires us to walk through the shadow of uncertainty and into the light and hope of our calling. You are not alone though. None of us have arrived. We are all still becoming. So keep breathing, keep growing, keep shining, and keep believing that you have the power to become. I love you very much graduates. I'm so proud of y'all. And congratulations seniors. We are very all proud of you. Hello and good evening. My name is Jose Mendoza and I've had the honor of serving as this year's student body president. Tonight, I stand not just as myself, but as the voice

of the class of 2026. Let's take a moment to let it sink in. We made it. After years of early mornings, late nights, tests, practices, performances, wins, losses, laughter, and even a few tears, here we are, finally ready to step into the next chapter of our lives. As we look ahead, each of us is preparing to take a different path. Some of us are heading to universities, others to trade school or community college, and some straight into the workforce. No matter where we go, what matters most is what we take with us. The resilience we've built, the lessons we've learned, and the friendships that made this journey unforgettable. The future may feel uncertain and even intimidating at times, but we've already proven that we're capable of incredible things. And we didn't just get here alone.

We're here because of support of our families, teachers, and staff who guided us every step of the way. And along the journey, we found something just as important, each other. No matter how we got here, I'm proud of every single person sitting in front of me today. I want to take a moment to recognize a few people who have had a meaningful impact on my journey. Miss Stephanie Jess, thank you for your constant guidance and for believing in me and our council. I seriously couldn't have asked for a better adviser to serve with. You and I were truly the perfect duo. Miss Misty Ingram, thank you for sparking my passion for leadership and helping me set on this path. Miss Melissa Benedict, thank you for believing in me and preparing me for the healthc care

field. To my friends, thank you for celebrating the wins, lifting me up during the challenges, and letting me rant even when I said the same things over and over again. Most importantly to my family. Mom, thank you for being my constant support and for always believing me even during the moments when I struggle to believe in myself. To my dad, who I recently lost earlier this school year, I miss you every day and I promise to continue to make you proud and carrying your story with me wherever I go. To my godmother, thank you for always being my backbone and for standing beside me through every challenge. To my siblings, Nathan Ambrosio, Bella, Gabby, Shawn, and Aaron, I'm so grateful and honored to have each in my life. and to my niece and nephew, Randon

and Cyrus. You both have genuinely brought so much light and joy into my life, and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for you guys. Honestly, all of you are probably the loudest in the stands tonight, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Thank you for always cheering me on, believing in me, and reminding me why I keep pushing forward. I love you more than words can ever express. But tonight's not just not about recognizing the people who helped us get here. It's about recognizing who we've become. We didn't all start high school knowing who we were or where we were headed. Some of us changed our plans, our goals, and even our confidence along the way. But what matters most is we grew through it all. Serving as your

student body president taught me leadership's not about titles. It's about showing up when things get hard, listening when it's uncomfortable, and choosing to care about the people around you. And when I look at the class of 2026, I see leaders everywhere. This class has faced challenges, adapted when things didn't go as planned, and continue to move forward anyways. That resilience is something no diploma can fully capture. It's something each of us will carry with us wherever we go next. Every one of us found our own path. Some in academics, some in athletics, some in leadership and service, and some through responsibilities outside of school. Some achievements were celebrated loudly, and others happened quietly. But every path mattered and every effort counted. Together as those different stories shaped the class sitting here tonight. As we move

forward, we step into a full future of opportunity and possibilities. We may not have all the answers yet, but we have something just as important. Belief in ourselves and in each other. As Buzz Lightyear says, to infinity and beyond. It's a reminder to dream big, take chances, and not limit ourselves to what feels comfortable. So, wherever your path leads, go after it with confidence. Congratulations, class of 2026. I'm proud of who we've been and more excited for who we're becoming. Thank you. Good evening and thank you for being here today. My name is Sarah Aan and I am the Brazeswood class of 2026 saludiatoran. When I learned a few weeks ago that I would have to write a speech for this ceremony, I first decided I should learn what exactly the word saludiatoran meant and

more importantly how to spell it. After some Googling, I found that the word originates from Latin and means to greet or welcome. So, without further ado, welcome parents, teachers, and faculty, board members, and especially Brazeswood's graduating class of 2026. We've spent so many years with this day as a distant idea ahead of us, and now we are here. Congratulations. I want to start by thanking everyone who helped me get here. I'd also like to extend my thanks to the people that helped my fellow classmates along the path to success. First, to my parents who never pushed me to be perfect, but always encouraged me to be the best version of myself. To all my grandparents, thank you for all the fun you bring into my life. To my classmates and friends, thank you for always

being kind, funny, and supportive. I couldn't have asked for a better group to graduate with today. To my teachers, thank you for the hard work that you put in to get us here today. And finally, thank you to my sister Claire. You're my best friend, and now you'll know it forever because this live stream goes on YouTube. When I started writing, I didn't know exactly what message I would leave. I'm definitely the person who gives motivational speeches or any speeches for that matter. But I did know that whatever I said had to feel like something I would say. Otherwise, I would feel dishonest standing here telling you to believe in a message that I found on the internet. The decisions that we have made throughout high school have led us to this day. You might

have made those decisions based on what you made. Either way, those You should feel proud. After high school, there will be way more decisions that only make you look at the start of high school. I hope that you see the growth you have over the past four years. And I hope that the person is proud of who you are now. Even if you haven't wanted to be in high school, remember that there will be another day that will never come unless you make that day. Congratulations to the class of 2026 on finally making it today. For a long time, we graduation as someday but now keep waiting. Good evening friends, family, and graduates. My name is Kennedy Younger and I'm the student body secretary. And my name is Audrey Holland and I am your student

body historian and parliamentary. As history graduation speeches do, we have to go back to our meeting. It was the start of right and making us worse than ever. We didn't learn much. We stilling freshman year at first until we realized they were just as Every scent the freshman campus How the window understood their biology or our football team for the It felt like something that did not like contins Proud of Mr. Freshman year as fast. our class ranks for the first time and began to witness cut throat competition from sports and society. We all students understood what it Sophomore year also brought challenges we could not predict. Lockowns and false alarms became something we experienced far too often and it always found us on important days like the peace sad. But at least it gave

us some more time to study. At the same time, there were moments that reminded us how unique our time together really was. We experienced a total solar eclipse, something most people only ever hear about. And for a few minutes, everything paused. We stepped outside, looked up, and shared a moment that felt bigger than the school, bigger than stress, bigger than everything else. By the time junior year rolled around, things started to feel more serious. The classes got harder, the stakes got higher, and suddenly everyone cared a lot more about their GPA. Late nights, stress over tests, and constant reminders about college started to become the norm. This was the year that reality started to set in. And we began to realize what we were working towards was becoming extremely close. It was also a year

of change on our campus. We welcomed Dr. Johnson as our new principal and coach Luster as our new head football coach. And with that came new expectations and a different energy around the school. There was a sense that things were shifting and we were stepping into something new. Some things changed. Some things stayed the same. But either way, we adjusted like we always do, learning how to move forward no matter what came or way. Even with our streak of bad luck, like somehow always managing to miss more pep rallies than we actually got to go to, we still found ways to show up. Whether it was cheering wherever we could, supporting each others in small moments, or just staying involved, we didn't let that stop us. And we had plenty to to show up for.

From award-winning rockets to academic UIL victories and continued excellence in band, theater, and fine arts, our class kept stacking accomplishments, and proving what we were capable of. Even football started to shift in a more winning direction, giving us something new to cheer on on Friday nights and bringing a renewed sense of school spirit. But through all of this excitement, senior year snuck up on us. The year we've been talking about since freshman year. But when it actually got here, it felt like everything moved 10 times faster. Time didn't slow down the way we thought it would. All at once, our lives became a mixture of responsibility and celebration. One minute, we were stressing over college applications, scholarships, transcripts, and SAT scores. In the next, we were adjusting to new things like the new cell phone

policy. We're checking the time somehow turned into a full mission. Then suddenly we were watching the sunrise together at senior sunrise and wondering how it all went so fast, wishing we could hold on just a little bit longer. But senior year came in loud. Between the bonfire, homecoming games, and a first semester that felt like one long blur of excitement and chaos, there was never really a dull moon. It felt like every week there was something happening, something we'd been waiting years for. and something we used to look forward to as undermen. And even though things didn't always go perfectly like our weather tonight, we made the most of everything because we knew our time was limited. But what made this year so special wasn't just the big events. It was the little ones, too.

The last first day of school, where everything felt the same, but also completely different. the small conversations in the hallways, the familiar routines, and the moments that we used to overlook. The realization that every last was actually a last. Last football game, last pep rally, last time walking through these halls without thinking twice about it. These moments started to feel a little bit more. But more than anything, senior year was about realizing that the future isn't something far away anymore. It's here. It showed up in acceptance letters, college scholarship offers, and conversations about where we're going next. The things we used to avoid thinking about suddenly became the only things anyone could ever talk about, turning into real decisions that would shape the next chapter of our lives. These moments are what make the class

of 2026 special. Not just what we did, but how we got there and who we became along the way. And as we leave this place, the place we helped shape, we take all of that with us. The lessons, the friendships, the memories, and everything that made these last four years ours. the moments that changed us, the people who supported us, and the experiences that we'll carry long after today. We will be known not just as the inaugural class of the new Bradiswood building. We will be remembered for our accomplishments, our resilience, and the mark we leave behind. So, here's to the class of 2026. the ones who adapted, the ones who persevered, and the ones who proved that no matter what we go through, we will always find a way forward. And wherever we go

next, that's exactly what we'll keep doing. Thank you for the memories, class of 2026. Good evening faculty, family, friends, and fellow graduates. My name is Elizabeth Anne, and I am honored to be standing here today as the Brazilwood class of 2026 valadictorian. I spent a lot of time these past few months watching graduation speeches while preparing to write my own. And so many of them offered incredible advice about life, success, and the future. But as I thought about what I wanted to say today, I realized that I don't really feel qualified to stand here and act like I have everything figured out. I'm not the person to offer advice to hundreds of people who are at the exact same stage of life as I am. the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.

I'm still growing, still learning, and still figuring out who I want to become. And I think that's part of what makes this moment so special. We spend years working towards a goal that suddenly arrives. And when it does, it doesn't feel like the ending we quite expected. It's bittersweet, and there's a lot of uncertainty for the future ahead, which can be terrifying. I remember asking a few of my friends if they are ready to graduate. And a majority of them told me no. And I think that's because change can be scary. Even when it's something you've been waiting for, when it's something good, it still means stepping into the unknown and leaving behind what we're used to. People we've known for an eternity and past versions of ourselves. There's a lot of comfort in staying

out of the unknown. But there's also a lot that we're giving up. So if there's one These last four years have taught me and that I can share with you. It's to follow your dreams, to chase your ambitions, and to set your heart ablaze. I've missed out on a lot of opportunities because I was scared of change, of stepping out of my comfort zone, and of being judged. I didn't join many clubs or extracurriculars, and I wasn't one for going out to school events either. I was always just known for being quiet, and I think that's my biggest regret, not putting myself out there. On that note, I would like to thank a few people who have truly made my high school experience and helped me to grow as an individual. First, thank you to

all of the teachers I've had over the last four years. I especially want to thank Coach Roberts, Mr. Weaver, Mr. Christopher, and Mrs. Graa for truly caring about their students beyond just teaching. Thank you to Sammy, Lillian, and Shana for being the first friends I made during high school. You guys have changed my perspective on life and showed me just how meaningful and enjoyable high school could truly be. I wouldn't be where I am right now without you guys. Thank you, Adeline, for being one of my closest friends and for giving me the opportunity to create so many wonderful memories this past year. You've always supported and believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. And for that, I am so, so grateful to have known you, no matter the distance. I'm always rooting

for you and I'll always be by your side. I would also like to thank my older brother Aaron. Despite all of our bickering and differences, you are one of the people I am most grateful for. Because of you, I've met so many amazing people that I wouldn't have otherwise. Thank you for listening to my rants even when you didn't really understand what I was saying. Thank you for trying to give me advice. And thank you for just being someone I could rely on. Finally, thank you to my parents. Thank you guys for every sacrifice you've made for me and for giving me so many opportunities to pursue an amazing future. Because of you, I'm able to go far and follow my dreams. And I hope that one day I'm able to repay even a fraction

of what you guys have given me. To the class of 2026, you know, high school's only four years of our lives. In the grand scheme of things, it isn't as significant as what we make it out to be in the moment. There is so much more ahead of us than the limits that we place on ourselves. So much more than the doubts that we carry or the expectations we feel pressured to meet. As you all move forward into the next chapter of your life, I hope you give yourself the chance to chase what you love, to not let other people dictate your path, to let your ambitions guide you. We're all heading towards different routes filled with different dreams and challenges. But wherever everyone ends up, I hope that you allow yourself to live it

to the fullest, to become the person you want to be because you only live once. Thank you. And final intro. Members of the board, Mr. Massie. As principal of Brazeswood High School, I would like to certify to you that these candidates have met all of the requirements for participation in this graduation ceremony as established by the Texas Education Agency and the Brazesport Independent School District. Thank you for sharing your students with us and allowing us to be part of their lives. Parents, the Brazeswood class of 2026 respectfully requests that as members of the audience, you please refrain from leaving your seats or area during the announcement of names. Good. Hi there everyone. My name is Samuel Cummings and I have had the amazing opportunity to be this class's student body vice president. I would first like to

thank all of you for coming out and supporting all of these graduates. Showing up truly matters. Now, I promise this speech will be shorter than these past four years have felt, lol. But seriously, somehow the longest days turned into the fastest years. One minute we were figuring out where to sit at lunch and the next we're sitting here in caps and gowns about to walk out into a world that feels both exciting and a little unpredictable. I think if you asked any of us freshman year what this moment would feel like, we would have had no idea. Back then, graduation felt far away, like something we think about eventually. And now that eventually is here. And the truth is, it didn't happen all at once. Now, before I move on, I would like to A

few people. First, my class for being such tough blooded souls and for voting me prom king. My sister and brother Audrey and Trey for being there throughout my childhood and never leaving me alone. My other sister Railan who I love so much for being one of my biggest idols and supporters and for also playing Barbies with me even when I was the one who wanted to. my dad for supporting me and always being willing to go grab lunch. And finally, my mom. I do not know where to be begin about her. Not only has she learned new things for me, but she has chosen to support me throughout everything. If you think of a woman or a female figure in your life that has shaped you into the person you are, someone who is perfect

in every way, shape, and form, someone who has always been there to talk, even when you are both annoyed and angry at each other, times that by 100. If you have had the chance to meet my mom, even when she's in a bad mood, she's not afraid to let you know that you are loved. Even if she just met you, she act like you've been in her life since you were kids. My mom is the one person I can go to whenever I need some real life advice, even if I might get a sassy response in return. Mom, I love you so much to the moon and more, and I truly appreciate you. It It hurts my heart that I have to leave you, but I know you will be with me every step of

the way. Now, if there's one thing we've learned in these four years, it's that what people throw at you doesn't have to break you. Like Taylor Swift says, I could build a castle out of all the bricks they threw at me. And that's what we've done. Every setback, every doubt, every moment where someone underestimated you, you turned it into something. You kept going. You adapted and you grew. Even on the days you felt stuck, you were still moving forward. And even on the days where you felt unsure, you were still becoming someone stronger. And that's something no one can take away from you. And little did you know, all of those mess ups and uneasy times, they were all the base of your castle. Every problem is another stone placed. Every setback adds to something

stronger than what was there before. And again, like Taylor Swift reminds us, everything you lose is a step you take. So even the things that didn't work out, the friendships that changed, the plans that fell through, the moments that didn't go the way you hoped, they weren't the end of your story. They were steps forward, even if it didn't feel like it at the time. Now, here's something I wish more people said out loud. If you ever forgive something, don't forgive a person for them. Forgive them for you. Protect your peace. Because holding on to anger, disappointment, or betrayal doesn't change the past. It just weighs down your future. And we've got way too much ahead of us to carry that. And as we move forward, that matters more than we realize because life after

this isn't going to be perfect. There will be moments where things don't go the way you planned. There will be times you question yourself. But there will also be moments that remind you exactly why you kept going. Moments where you realize you're exactly where you're supposed to be, even if it took a few unexpected turns to get there. And as we leave here today, we're not just walking away with diplomas. We're walking away with lessons about resilience, about friendship, about who we are and who we want to be. We're walking away with memories that didn't seem important at the time, but now feel unforgettable. Some of us know exactly what's next. Some of us have no idea. And honestly, that's okay. Because if these past four years have proven anything, it's that we're capable of

figuring it out. So take the risks. Chase what matters to you. Surround yourself with people who lift you up, not tear you down. And when life throws something at you, and it will, build something out of it. Don't rush through what comes next, but don't hold yourself back either. Be proud of how far you've come, even if it doesn't look the way you once imagined. Class of 2026, we made it. And whatever comes next, I think we will be more than ready. Also, catch me at the Grammys in five years. Seniors, we did it. Let's turn our tassels. Now, let's do one last where you from. >> Please stand. Students, >> where are you from? Where you from? >> Do you love it? >> Give me one. Give me two. >> Now circle up for

circle of friends >> and throw your caps. Where are you? Where did all the time go? See how the hands go waving goodbye. You know I get so forgetful when I look in your eyes. >> Now she's walking backward and I'm stuck in the shadow in the shade. Ain't no way to sweep up the mess that we made. She gets dressed up like a pillow, so she's in bed. Flowers for the sick. She's on the Way too fast and way too slow. She'll turn the stars and when the rise is not in disguise anymore. There's nothing to keep you from falling in love. It starts at the bottom. It comes from like pieces of puzzle. Like a hand in a glove. She gets dressed up like a pillow, so she's always in bed. Flowers for

the sick and she's on the way too fast and way too slow. shall turn to hospitals. And when the tide sings in the blank of an eye
