Independent school district board of trustees order. Let the record show that a form of board members is present that a meeting has been duly called and that notice of this meeting has been posted in accordance with Texas meeting acts code chapter 551. Please be advised that this meeting is being recorded and will be available for public access. Now if you ever want to hear how silly you sound, don't go to YouTube. Okay. All right. How about a prayer for today? Thank you for the blessings, your goodness in our life as this meeting goes, you got our decisions, Lord, and let us stay focused on what is best for students and the community here in Dwville. Let your wisdom guide us. In your name, we pray. Amen. Amen. >> Okay. Public comment. So, before you start,

I have a little piece I have to say. I've got to help you a little bit here. So it's okay. I'm keep confidence in you. So I'm going keep it short. So first of all, it's correct. >> You're lucky that you got confidence. >> You got five minutes to go through. So the public forum on this agenda and this evening is for public comment comment period. This is a time for citizens, staff or students to give their import to the board. Statements and questions from the audience will not be permitted or other options of for this meeting. So, please let us hear what you have to say. Now, a couple things to keep in mind as you're talking. If you call out anybody by name, any employees, any people by name or anything, you'll be

shut off. If you have any derogatory things to say specifically about individuals or any people will be cut off. You have five minutes. Not going to go through the rest of it. I'll let you roll. >> Um, I sit in the stands and I sit people come to my office. They that does changing the school uniforms from red and white and white and red to black. I like the black, don't get me wrong, but the last time when I mentioned to Joe Wald about it at the old school, they had a big old bra that back in 1998 school. That school board at that time said it was never going to be changed and the alternate color was gray, not black. The community that people come up to me, they're really not liking y'all changing

the colors without public knowledge. Now, I don't know if it's a rumor. I'm just bringing it to your attention. Now, don't get me wrong. I do like the girls in their black uh cheer suits. They don't show their I mean my stepdaughter was in a chair and she kept want pulling it down longer. So I do know it's not the cheer sponsors. It is the students that's they're walking around but we you got a school uh dress code going, they should go by it, too. Even on game days, it's out of respect, not just for them, but for other kids. I have 17 year old boys and most of y'all, y'all know. Okay. Second, my kids were supposed to come up here. They want to talk about the food service. They said it's really bad.

I understand y'all have to go back over guidelines, but don't we cook anymore? Everything is just microwavable. We have state of the dark cafeteria. Don't they know how to follow a recipe change from flour to whole wheat flour? I'm just saying this is what my kids, they are 17 year old boys and they're not even eating gumbo in the cafeteria. I know this hard time. I don't know who took the place of it. I don't know. I just every day I have to go listen to them. I have to listen to the other kids that come to my house or come to my ball station. Now, if it's a runner about the um about the uniforms, we need to set the radio state because some of the community members are very upset as the food

service. I told them I bring it to y'all's attention. The second used helmet. They're selling them for new prices. I know that far fact because one of the people that they paid $450 for a broken helmet when we are they're raing law for $5 a ticket. They're gangs. Why can't they justify? I thought we just bought brand new helmets this year. Was that not the case? >> Well, I can'tify it anymore. We can't respond. Yeah, you're >> But if if we're going to let the kids buy the helmets, it should be at full price. Broken helmets, split helmets, whatever. They've used some of these kids have used their helmet since junior high. Y'all might want to bring it to the people's attention if they're going to resell them. Don't sell them for full price. $450.

I don't mind paying for my son's helmet if he wanted his helmet, but it's going to be the brand new helmet. It's not going to be used. >> See what I'm getting? All right. I know I'm simple. I'm sorry. >> I'm being good on this. Okay. But yes, I don't know. School color. Y'all to bring it to the community's attention. Um, when they saw the girls in the black cheerleader suits this year, some good. A lot of them said, "That's not our colors. Our colors are crimson and white." So, I'm just letting you know. I know when I talked to Mr. W, he didn't know nothing about it. I'm I'm assuming y'all didn't know nothing about me. and he'll get to know me really well. >> I'm 4 minutes 53 seconds. >> Thank you very

much for coming out. >> I'm okay. I we wish more people would come and tell us that we're so we don't know. Everybody assumes that the communities just call us and tell us and stuff, but we don't always know stuff. So, >> well, like I said, I have parent square, but I don't have Facebook no more. >> It's not and I don't have a board like I used to have and kind of get up there. >> And then, you can always go to our website and they're posted on there as well. Our agenda and I'll show you if you want me to. I had to I argued with Peggy for about 30 minutes while ago. >> Don't argue with Peggy. >> All right. Well, thank you. Thank you again very much for coming. >> All

right. So, let's move on. Let's go on to ourformational items. So, 2025 fall legal seminar. I got to be nosy a little bit. I usually come to these all the time. >> Um the fall legal seminar, the tour date, it's all dates for November. I know y'all just went to Edcon, but I wanted to show it to y'all anyway. Um but it's for the uh legal seminar. Um, there's different ones. >> Yeah, I'm I'm okay. I think I'm all cooled up. Thank you much. 2B district fundraiser highlights. Uh FFA fresh country. >> It's just the meat. and only reason I know because my kids but the community again wants the fruit. I've only had three people sign up for the meat. >> So this year it's meat, no fruit. >> No fruit. Last year we

had an issue with um the free being late. Some people in me and I don't think that they wanted to mess with that. >> Good deal. >> All right. Any questions? 2COU with Newton County. >> So we've signed our end. We're waiting on commissioner court. They meet tomorrow >> and then we should be finally done with theou. I thought we had that complete. So, we're still finalizing that. >> We are not on audit. Uh unless they come up with something tomorrow uh after about three phone calls, 15 emails. Uh, we finally figured out who to really talk to. So, uh, >> was there a sticking point somewhere in here or something? >> It was about the wording on the on the money that we pay. >> Um, nothing changed in it. They just did they

just wanted it worded in a certain way. >> Um, >> Lawyers. Yeah. >> And so, um, >> once once we got that, I mean, like I said, nothing changed. What we're paying is still the exact same. Um what officer Origo is doing is still the exact same. U they just wanted the wording changed on one page about three times and it was the same section. >> Did did we talk to them about the additional training? Is it in the in the notes for the folks that come here around the like school specific training or something? >> It's in there that that Newton County will be responsible for making sure that the SRO has to require training and that we will not pay for the training >> because there's some kind of school specific type of

training, right? >> Okay. Any questions updates? Wow, I haven't seen one of these in a while. Do we get a whole bunch of money or what? We finally get our square in there. So happy. We are officially done for the 2016. >> We're close out. >> Okay. Wow. Record timing. It took nine years. All right. Good. Any questions? Tulle board reporting. uh superintendent report. >> So, um I put this in there. It is the summary from a staff survey that I sent out um the first Monday that I was here. Um I asked all staff to fill fill out a survey. We got a good percentage of responses. Um and so, uh >> do you happen to know the percentage? We had 68 responses when all was said and done. >> So, and I and

I don't think I don't think some of the staff got it by the way that he notes were set up. Jeremy and I were talking about that. >> Now, were these specific teachers? Was this the entire staff? Was this all everybody? >> It was sent to both campuses. when you send it down, it goes to all faculty. >> I sent it to and then Jeremy came back and said, "Oh, I think this person this person might not have been in it." >> Okay. So, just because you said faculty, right? So, >> faculty would be teachers. >> Yes. So it correct >> Jeremy got with him after the fact and said, "Hey, these were missing." So then they were sent to >> So what was the number about 10 employees? >> We were getting we were

above 50% which is unusual survey. So that that's a I thought it was a good starting spot. Um, also then met with teachers and interestingly enough, I heard the exact same thing in person that I did in the survey. Um, it it didn't really change. Um, which is good. It was the same same concern, same same highlights over and over again. So, the the good of that is means there's just a few areas to focus on in it. The bad of that is it means everybody thinks it's the same problem. So, take it how you want. >> Easy to narrow down. >> It does. And then also just one other thing to your bill addresses. I'm sending you all a weekly update. Just a few bullet points. >> Do we have that? Can you check

with Jerry to see if some of us we talked to him about making that automatically forward to our personal? Can you check to see? But let me get a tablet and at the end >> I think you've already >> Yeah, I'll make sure that your person's on there and if it's not then I'll have them. Any questions about the service? You need to read. >> All right. Safety update. How about we just had our first safety meeting of the school year. We missed the summer meeting, so we're working on getting hot open and compliance with that. Um the EOP was updated. Um and I am waiting on instructions on how to actually officially get that to the school safety center with Mr. Roour listed as the superintendent >> to the what center? >> School safety

center. The Texas school safety center. >> Oh, Texas school. So that's the Dyingville. >> No, the Texas school safety center. And um it it shouldn't be a big deal. I think you just have to send an email. >> They'll ask us silly questions. This the first time we've ever had to send this to this. Now, normally the way that they ask for it is they give you a specific login just to go and submit the required new annex for the year and updated basic plan, but that expires and so I was not sure how to go about updating that. So, I emailed >> we've done it in the past. >> Who's they got my information today? They started a dialogue with me. >> So, we've been doing it. It's not like we haven't. And you're

listed as superintendent now as well. >> Yes. So, I think this was just one more area change names. >> Okay. >> And huge news on the United Communications radio for the patrol car radio came in today. The installation is only going to cost us about $200 $250. And um that means that we will finally have all of the pieces to make everything work for us down here, >> which gives us the capabilities to do what? >> To communicate with the fire department and from the car. >> Yes, sir. >> We'll have one for the car. We'll have one access to one. >> There's one in the office. He wears one and then there will be one in the car. There are two chargers and four additional batteries. >> This is specific to safety, police, fire.

This was one of the places that we were not compliant because there were no radios that worked out here in our buildings. We couldn't communicate with the sheriff's department. >> Now, years ago when we very first started looking at this, the challenge we had was because of the size of new county, we could not find radios that would reach >> well. It was uh he couldn't climb anymore and then a repeater was messed up from the count. So we got that the tower was brand new got the new repeater and all that hooked up and they can talk from here to Newton. >> Okay. >> And even good. Well, that's good news. That is good. >> And the Oh, the anonymous reporting for safety concern. It is live on the website. Go click fill out

the Google form. It's completely anonymous. It comes to the administration office and then Mr. can decide where it needs to go from there. Putting QR codes on the campuses to make that easier to access. And um I think Crimestoppers. We can't pair with them, but we'll be putting the Crimestoppers general phone number on the campuses next to that as well. >> How about all the door knocking, open doors, all of the fun things and challenges? Have we gone back to some of our frequent flyers and checked them? We fixed all that. So the next time the guy speaks in finally had our big door D6, the main one on the right to the gym, um fixed today came out, looked at it, figured out what was wrong, went back to Bmont, got what they needed,

came back and it was tested very rigorously and it is functioning. The electronic part works, the latch is working. So we should be good to go. What about around the the gym and those doors there? Didn't we have a door that was >> No, I thought we had one that went into the central area. >> Yeah, last year. alarm. If it stays open, does it have an alarm? >> But I will say that has been making his door checks very regularly >> and I got an email every single day. >> Silly question, but is there some reason we wouldn't put alarms? I thought I thought that was a requirement somewhere for exterior doors. If they were propped open, they would alarm after 10 minutes. I don't I'm probably wrong, but >> I thought that's what

we had in the high school to keep the activity boys from going outside and watching that door open. >> Was there never if it's something that's doable then because I think that's an added security option if it's doable. I would think >> especially that door. Now, back in this day when when the school was built, in order to punch the code in to leave at night, if there was a door propped open, it wouldn't let you and it would tell you which door was propped. >> But with the I've never activated or deactivated the new alarm at the hospital. So, I'm not sure. >> No, I thought we had originally talked about because there was an issue the boys were the door >> and so we talked about putting alarms on those doors that if

they were popped open and they stayed open for x amount of time that the office got an alarm. >> We talked about open it just close the door >> anyway check into it see if you can find some stuff out >> absolutely the last thing is Mr. I want to warn would like to start closing the east gate right here from 8:00 to 2 every day so that everyone visiting the campuses has to finally pass or go to the high school. So we just wanted to let you guys know >> we're going to put a post out on parent square and everywhere else we do before we start doing that surprise people. But with him being mainly stationed there I think it just makes sense to follow everybody during the day a little bit. Just

a >> one comment about door. Uh we had fire prevention week last week and uh anytime I went up to the door at the gym for elementary there was a teacher that came and opened that door. It wasn't >> Yeah. And I was very proud. >> Good. >> All right. Any more questions? >> Good stuff. Thanks. >> 3B discussing. I forgot I rolled around. Roll my fingers around there too much time. Transportation update. Miss Willis. >> We're rolling. >> We just need some drivers. >> All we need. We have great buses. Thanks to Mr. J today. Did Kenny give you the message? >> No. >> Headlights out on the Giz. >> Yeah. >> 28. >> I don't know the bus number. I just know it's a Mville bus. >> Okay. >> And actually, one of

the teachers from Morrisville stopped in the hallway and said, "I know you I know you got to." And I was just the light the bus was passing me on my road and that light is out. >> Okay. >> So, Have we put together I know we've got new buses now we've got all kind of neat stuff but when we most of us got on this board we weren't necessarily that lucky and we it's because we didn't start now planning for that future time have we kind of started looking at buses and saying hey in five years we know or 10 year I don't know what time whatever this is the lifespan of this bus We probably need to start putting a couple of dollars up a year or something. I don't know. Whatever. We got

>> I'll I'll do a little better than that. One of the things that um Jana and I are working on, we have not actively start on yet because well, I'm still getting situated, but it is it has been talked about that we're going to put together a um planned obsolescence calendar for large ticket items across the entire district. And that includes down to specific activities and groups, transportation being one of them, so that we know how long to expect if we're not caught off guard, things uh wear out, burn out. >> Now, you're doing that across not just buses, right? >> We're doing it across large ticket items. Um I mean down to I'm asking the Anderson, when are the Soua phones are 15 to $20,000 and we don't need to be surprised by it.

Um, but there is a lifespan on how long those suckers will play. There's a lifespan on how long uh high jump mats will last before you've got to get the phone. >> There's no reason we should wait for end of life to have these conversations in here. >> Well, over and we need to make sure we're scheduling those out. So, we're not right to it saves you maintenance cost because you're not having to call people out to lint things along until we can afford it. the next year. So, I like that. I like that. Yes, >> that's happening. >> Did you say that you were short bus drivers or >> Yes, sir. >> route and the sevens. We have our route drivers. So, uh this last summer we knew we were losing one of our

route drivers and uh so we combined routes. We went from seven down to six. Uh seems to be working great. We It's It's a lot We had a lot of routes that over overlapped each other. they were on the same roads. It's u is a difference of like 15 miles and there's uh three bus routes that had it about 10 kids a piece and they were they were down on their numbers. So it really was a was beneficial to us and then that gave us that driver who didn't want to drive anymore route gave us a sub and so that helped just just the normal stuff surgeries gallbladders out you know just just it never failed. It's always stuff that um we get several applicants in sometimes, but you know, they don't usually pass the

criminal test and we're about to score one, but um the six routes seem to be working fine. They're not overloaded. They're, you know, and they're quick. Did I maybe added 10 minutes to each one? Miss uh Miss Addison before she left, we've adjusted the pay and we just have the two routes now instead of three. So, it's either long or short and uh it's been working out so good for that. It's just just drivers. It's and it's mostly on football nights >> because uh I lose a couple of coaches uh that drive routes. >> So, and on the on the positive part, Brack Brack is now a certified driver. So, All of our coaches are certified drivers. So all of our >> do >> well all I always say is once again from where we

were at to where we are today. >> You know we every board meeting we sat in what just two years ago was the bus fiat. There was something that we're wondering. We got a $500 bus we're driving around. Whatever. >> They told the switch that you have to flip it before you could crank it. >> No, I'm amazed. But um this year I refereed a few volleyball games and stuff and I'd go to other schools and and just some of the coaches would come in. Little Cypress coaches came in and was like dying. I was like, "Y'all come here." They said, "One, you know, one >> and they said we never get it. I said, "Let me guess. Football." >> And then she said, "No, no, they're even off tonight. No, no extracurricular gets it."

And she said, "I don't know who gets be a lot more comfortable." >> And oh, a Jasper just the other night. Uh something was said about um a kid and anyway, they were asking me about our biggest problems and what they said, "No, we have cameras. We have aids on the buses. That's not our issue." I said, "We just, you know, they just want to take those seat belts off." And they said, "Do y'all have seat belts?" >> And I said, "On every bus?" And they were like, "We have one bus that has seat belts." >> And she said, "And we fight not to take it because we don't want to fight with the kids to have to." >> I said, "No, every one of our I feel like we're blessed." Jasper, those are big

schools. >> So, we're really ahead of that. When Mr. Wellborn came in, he asked me about the the other that we have our cars, our trucks, and those seem to be in good shape. Mileages are pretty low on those. So, >> we should quick question. So, uh headlight out on the bus. >> Yeah. >> And I'm sure the answer is yes to this. Do bus drivers do kind of a pre >> Yeah, that's why I don't know if it's maybe a >> short >> good deal. Any more questions? Yeah, >> we have another driver right here >> and he got I don't know. I I don't know what word I could use there, but he got to drive today. >> Did you let drive one of the old buses? >> And I think he liked

it so much he's gonna do it again Thursday. Appreciate that. Okay. Any more questions? All right. Well, let's move into our action items. So, action item 3A, discuss and take possible action to approve a resolution regarding SB12 and parents rights. >> I'll make a motion to discuss possible action to approve a resolution regarding SB12 and parent rights. Second. So, what have we got here? >> This is uh the large parental right bill from this uh last year's uh legislative session that was part of the Florida that's passed right at the end after they've uh gotten vouchers through. Um this one deals a lot with uh ensuring that parents have access to uh see the curriculum. Um that we are informing parents of what's going on with their kids. Um this is part of where the

uh nursing and counseling uh permission forms came from. is any did this throw any additional burdens or new stuff on this compared to what we were doing? >> Um the three biggest ones that I think came out of Senate Bill 12 are the permission for nursing, the permission for counseling and um the syllabus being posted which begins next year really because it took back. >> So other than the syllabus, weren't we kind of doing all that lot of that already or were we not? some some teachers were, but now we're required to. >> Okay. >> But as an overall district and how we manage our business, was it a huge step change for us? I mean, >> I don't >> I mean, I don't think so. I think the only thing that caused us is

more paperwork at the beginning of the year for our parent and y'all elected to opt out of the grievance policy change. So that took off that would have been huge for that one. >> Something too like next year now that we know what the wording needs to be the um >> the part for the parents can be in the online pre-registration paperwork. We won't have to do it like we did this year again where we send how many >> three versions >> three different versions home. Um every time CASBY updated schools were forced to send another version of that nursing form home. And so now hopefully they're done changing their minds about what it looks like and we put it in our back to school paperwork so it's just done one time. >> And then

the last one's around the board about public comment at the beginning. We already >> and then as far as during we don't have ours on the weekends or off hours anyway. So >> any questions concerns? All in favor? 3B discuss and take possible action to approve a resolution to declare a good cause exception for House Bill three armed security officer requirement. So House Bill three is the one I move to discuss and take possible action to approve a resolution to declare a good cause exemption for House Bill three armed security officer requirement. Okay, now we're ready. Sorry. >> Uh, House Bill 3 was um after Evald um it was the one that required each campus to keep somebody armed on it. Um, we have two points allow us to claim the good cause exception. One

is the location of our campuses that they're so close together geographically within a mile of each other. The other is that we do have school marshals on each campus. And so while not in a uniform, we do have an armed Any questions, >> concerns? All in favor? >> 3C. Discuss and take possible action to approve an amendment to the ISD local innovation plan exemption DISD from exempting DISD from the standardized grievance policy outlined in 46. Make a motion discuss take possible action to approve the agreement to utilize the localation plan from the standardized reg. >> I'll second. So, in our DOI plan, this is really coming down to the last page that we're looking at. Um, the grievance process, the board had decided u during the summer, y'all correct me? Last, >> I don't remember.

>> I think it was the August. >> Okay. August meeting that we were going to continue with the grievance policy that had been in place in Dweyville. And so in the district of innovation plan um on the in uh the last page part seven we updated it that we will continue to follow um DGBA local, FNG local, NGF local. Um we chose to go with that wording so that we do not have to update the grievance policy in two places when we change it. U those are the three places that if we ever change the policy it has to be updated in board policy there. And so now the district innovation plan simply states that we will follow board policy and then we don't have to worry about this aligning with that. It's it's always

set that the the district plan follows board policy period in the discussion. >> We'll change it there or not here. >> Correct. Yes. If we ever need to make a change, we'll change it in the board policy. This the the letters will stay the same as far as what what parts of it and therefore we don't have to worry about it getting off if we forget to update something. Um this basically just says we will all always follow policy and it overrides. Anything else? Okay. Any questions? All in favor? 3D D. Discuss and take possible action to approve TEA prepaid class size waiver for 2025 2026. I make a motion with discussion possible action to approve the TDA prek class size 256. >> We are two kids over in one class u to be got

a right waiver or have the right recommendations to teacher ratio right now. So need the waiver for this year for that. >> Are we getting that teacher help or is it that we feel comfortable that the teacher can just have an extraordinary group of great kids this year that are >> there there is a pair with the teacher >> but we'll keep an eye on her right >> it's only two kids but I know my two grandkids That's all I want. I can do three. >> So, do you ever see a trend where at a certain time during the year our numbers drop >> that that we have a change in the numbers like in prek specifically? >> Well, just overall after Christmas or >> So, is this just for this school year for next

year? I I think for next year we're going to take a harder look at the transfer policy, especially for kids coming in that haven't haven't been established in the district prior and >> work hard to make sure that we stay at the >> max to teacher or student to adult ratio 11 to one. But the teacher has 22. >> 24. >> We only have four transfer students that aren't teachers or employees. So next year we'll kind of have to look at that closer or not. >> Whether or not it actually qualify. >> Okay. Any questions? Any more questions? Sir, all in favor? Motion carries. 3E discuss and take possible action to adopt ESB alternative or is it >> A motion that we discuss ESB L alternative. >> Yeah. L alternative. >> All right. This is

another one from the summer's legislation. Uh this is the library bill that came out. Um as a district, we're choosing to take the alternative method rather than having to have a permanent sitting committee. Um, basically what this says is we'll hold off on having a committee um until there's a request to review material and then we will convene a committee for that purpose. Um, but until then our librarians with the advice of the administrators and teachers will select age appropriate materials as they have been um and continue to serve that. So, so does this say that we're put a committee together? >> No. Only if there is a request to pull something then we have to get >> by whom member who says this this my kid brought on this book it wasn't age appropriate

I want to request to review this material then we will >> they feel like our folks aren't diverse or they think are too diverse I want a committee together to review what's it >> I feel our pretty Do we have a library? >> We have somebody working in that position. >> Okay. Any questions, concern? All in favor? >> 3F. Discuss and take possible action to prop to approve proposed changes to board policies FD local and FM local. I'm move to discuss and take possible action to appro to approve proposed changes to board policies FD local and FM local. >> I'll second. This is another one in response to legislation uh last uh previously. You had to have a policy that specifically said you would allow a homeschool student to participate and it was assumed that

you did not allow them to participate. In this last legislative session, they said that for purposes of extracurricular activities, bands, sports, etc., you now have to do it the other way around. We have to specifically state as a district that we are not going to allow a homeschool student to come in and participate in our extracurriculars. And >> we opted out in July. This is just the we we've had the required readings now. So this is the meeting where we adopt that policy that a home student can't just walk in and play basketball on track whatever you not. >> Yes. understand they cannot participate. >> Correct. >> Any questions? Turn. All in favor? Motion carries. 3G. Discuss and take possible action to approve Christmas promises. motion to discuss possible action for approve. >> Okay. So,

um the bonuses were not in the original budget. So, it's something that needs to happen um that we're going to approve and then amend um if the bonuses are going to happen for our staff this year. Um I will tell you that they are more than paid for. Um Jana and I have been working on a couple of things. One is cleaning up um redundant programs. Um we found a few thousand dollars in that we were still paying for parts of Raptor that did the same thing that Sentinel does. We're required to use Sentinel by the state. Why pay Raptor for it? So we saved some money there. Um, we've been working um, Miss Hogan and I have been working very hard on the um, and Sarah stood over my shoulder and helped me find

numbers and understand courses in the master schedule, but we've been working very hard to make sure our CTE coding is correct. Um, Miss Fountain was here. I'd say in front of her, um, she did a great job. All of our PE's codes were correct as far as what courses we were using. We didn't have any courses mislabeled, but we did have some hours mislabeled. So, in the beam system, um the way we report it, um if you're in a class that takes place fourth and fifth period, there has to be a Jew in there um so that they know you're in that class twice. And so, while we had all the right numbers, not all the hours were right. So, we found about $77,000 so far that um we're getting uh that we were that

we were not. Um I think there's still a few more kids missing. We're working hard to find those. Um >> um it it may not So, um, we've there's a tool that we get from the Career and Technical Association of Texas that helps us estimate this and it is just an estimator, but we we've not had that tool here before and u so we plugged in all the kids and where they were. It gave us the number, we ran the report when the numbers didn't match up, we went to find the other money. So, um, the sheet the sheet that, uh, Jana gave you a minute ago, it'll show the amount that we're going to need for Christmas bonuses, and we're already under what we just said. Um, so it shouldn't be too bad. But

then also, um, something else that we're working on cleaning up just financially that another place allows us to have this money from. Um there's some grants that had been applied for in the past that uh they mainly bought equipment >> but some of the equipment came with ongoing uh services and charges uh or fees from third party companies and uh we're getting this out of so if you remember Zace what the amount was >> uh it was like 15,000 um it was over 30,000 year for up,000. >> Yeah. >> And the third party people was about us about 48,000 last year. >> What was that for? >> It was a third party grant writer. Um CTC. Um I checked with region 5 before I said, "Hey, we're not going to go through them." They are

not on the approved vendor list for any grant. So anything they help you write, you have to pay for out of local budget. You can't offset it from the cost of the grant. and so we won't be going through them anymore. The previous person that used them when she was in her role uh at high school and um while it sounds great um that's just not a cost we need to absorb. We're we got smart people here that are more than capable of writing grants and reading through and attending the webinars. And so at least for now our policies that we're going to do our grants ourselves, keep it in house where it fits for help. They paid for themselves right today, right? We're paying away for grant help, >> right? >> Cost us 15,000

and they're finding us 100,000. >> No, we're just cutting the check. >> We need grant help. We'll use the region centers and people like that that are approved vendors to where it can come out of the grant funding so it's not eating in the local there's people there to help too. Um, and that's TI, you know. use them for that. So, >> okay, good stuff. Any questions? >> I just think those bonuses were a great motivator. >> The teachers really appreciated that. >> We got to get it done this one. So, they had it for Black Friday. >> Make sure I didn't All right. So, all in favor we do. That's right. That's a pretty fair statement. And I have the same. >> Okay. 3H. Discuss and take possible action to approve budget amendment one.

I'll make the motion to discuss and take possible action to approve budget amendment number one. I'll second. >> Uh this is the budget amendment to move the money for the Christmas hand you do that down there,000 >> state. Any questions? I discuss and take possible action to approve monthly board meeting minutes. >> I'll second questions, concerns about that. All in favor? Discuss and take possible action to approve board reports and utility. >> Motion to discuss and take possible action to approve the month. >> Any questions about that concerns? >> Actually, yes. Uh what happened with Republic did we just miss? It looks like they paid 858 in August and then 31.44 in September. September >> there was a rate increase and they didn't charge us for like the three months before. Wish I could, but

okay. All right. >> All in favor? >> 3K. Discuss and take possible action to approve approve donations to have any. >> We'll run through that. Lis and take possible action. purchases over 10,000. >> No. >> So now 3:00 a.m. close meeting. Let's uh let's go visit for a few minutes.
