001I called this meeting of the independent Northwest Independent School District to order. Let the record show that a quorum of board members is present and that this meeting has been duly called and that notice of the meeting has been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551. Um, we will skip the close session this evening because we have no business there. So, we'll move to public comment on agenda items and there is none. So, we will move to item four, which is consideration and approval of an order canvasing the returns and declaring the results of a tax ratification election. >> Is that the right button? Okay. We're here today to finalize our election returns as required by chapter 67 of the election code. Your action tonight will be the final

002action that needs to be taken to finalize the November 4th election results. The packet before you has the final election results from our counties. Please keep in mind that these numbers do vary slightly from the preliminary reports we had on election night. Um they did change in all three counties ending in an 832 difference. um for our final result results. So the process for this evening, your charge is to canvas the returns and then make a final vote which will be recorded in board minutes. Thank you. At this time, do the board members are the do excuse me, I'm going to try that one more time. At this time, do any of the board members present at today's canvas wish to examine the result the election returns or have any questions about the conduct of

003the elections for the staff? >> Yes, I'd like to examine them. Okay, we'll take a few minutes at this time to go through the information. Are you referring to the under votes? Um, so Miss Hatfield made a good point. On the order document, you'll see that there's a total of counted and uncounted provisional ballots. That's one of the things why we have to wait till today to canvas our returns because you're waiting on overseas mailin and people who moved and so their addresses aren't matching up. So the number you see are people who came picked up a ballot but then it has to be verified before we can actually take their vote. So, it's the number that um were actually counted and then those that basically were thrown out for whatever reason. >> [sighs] >>

004I'd have to go back and pull those results and see. But Okay. So, do I have a motion to canvas the results of the November 4th, 2025 tax ratification election? >> Madame President, Dr. Roush, I motion that we do that. Canvas the election that we have canvas. Oh, I don't have mine. Okay. I move to adopt an order canvasing the returns of declaring the results of the November 4th, 2025 tax ratification election. Know what I did? >> Second. >> I have a motion by Dr. Roush and a second by Mrs. Hatfield to adopt an order canvasing the returns and declaring the results of the November 4th, 2025 tax ratification election. All in favor? It's 61 absent. Thank you. Board move. >> Second. Capes.
