Thank you, Mr. Glouse and Miss Teal for your time with our students and and getting those medals and being champions. We're going to move now to the 2526 student advisory leadership team, our salt team students. If you are here and part of the salt team, I'd like for you to come over here and line up for me. A little bit about salt. So, we have 23 students who participate every month. They get to meet with me. I think that makes them super excited. I'm hoping uh they meet with me and actually our trustee Austin and Mr. Kruzanne. And we really get together. So the first thing they get to do is they get to advocate

for the student body. So we picked hot topics at the beginning of the year. Um hot topics were everything from uh what was it? Pep rallies to parking to student well-being to college and career readiness. So we kind of chose topics like student well-being and college readiness because I told them I can't control parking right now. I'm trying. Right. I was like can you give me some time? It's just taken a little bit more time than I've wanted. But we went over those hot topics. They also learned about leadership principles. And every month we got to come together and have amazing lunch. Wouldn't y'all say that's probably one of the best core memories was lunch that Miss Valerie and her group made. And so I just want to thank them tonight and I want to

recognize them. They truly our last meeting with them. We brought them together with our silver pirates group on May 8th and we sat in the crow's nest and they got to meet our silver pirates. If you do not know what silver pirates is, it is our group that's 60 and older. They come in and they just want to learn about our schools. So this meeting we brought in Salt and they got to rotate and talk to each other about what did they like about school, what was their biggest lesson. Then they got to ask them a lot of questions. So, we did that for about an hour and a half. The very last thing I asked our Silver Pirates, now that you've spent a couple hours with our students when you go out into the

community, what would you like to share about our school district? And I'm going to give you a couple of them, but one of them that I really think brought me to tears, didn't he? Um, he stood up and he said, well, he didn't stand up. He sat there and he said, "I just want to know, I want you to know that you have the most amazing students." And what today gave me is hope. There's a lot of narrative about our our current generation school uh students and what they're doing and what they're not doing. And he said, "Talking to them, they're intelligent, they're articulate, and I have hope for what the future is because of them." Um it was amazing. I think all of them had so many good things to say about you guys.

I want to I want to thank them tonight for all that they have done to help develop our school district into what it is. And so we're going to start with our lone senior that's here tonight. That's only because one is working and one is on her way to Austin to participate in the state track meet. So we're going to start first with our senior Mr. Levi Diaz. Dice >> come up here. Come up. Das. Das. There you go. Give me a hug. I want everybody come out on Friday and see Levi Das walk the stage. Let's see. You got them in order for me. She's got them in order. Yes, she does. Mr. Braxton Yarnell. He is in eighth grade. He's about to be a freshman. This is for you. Harmony as she gets

it. It's Harmony. Mont Vio. Montavo. Montavo. You can see we only do first names there. She is in seventh grade. Have you done your application for next year yet? >> Are you gonna do it? Okay, good. Okay, perfect. So, real quick, Mike Noatney is not here, but remind him I need a bigger lip on this. It doesn't want to hold this stuff, does it, y'all? All right, we're gonna go with Sophia. Say your last name. El Alvar. Did I say it right? She is a seventh grader. Oh, hold on. She did her application last night. And if you got to go to church, go ahead. We got Mr. Almond, Braden Almond. He is also eighth grade. >> Eighth grade. You're going to be a freshman, too. >> Oh, man. Thank you for all that you've

done. >> Miss Julie Brown, she was a freshman this year. This is her second year on Salt. >> She is working on the application. Y'all all might as well check in and tell me where you're at in the application. >> [laughter] >> Alexis Vega, come on up. She is a seventh grader now. She said, "I haven't started on it. It's a busy month, y'all." Mr. Benji Hill, have you done your application? >> Okay, I'm gonna look for it tomorrow. Thank you, Benji. You got it. That's your gift. Miss Addison Presley, sophomore. She also was part of Salt last year as well >> and she is working on the application. Oh, one question left. Great job. Thank you. And Miss Alexis Burke. Freshman. Freshman. I always want to think you're older than that. You're so mature.

Okay. Application going. >> Working on it. All right. Good. in the mail. Now we're going to move to our recognition of a Rockport Fulton High School culinary student who advanced to the FCCLA state culinary competition. Would Miss Amber Lad or would you like Caddy to come up or both of you? Come on. I didn't see you sitting back there. It's all y'alls. And we're going to go ahead and move to We'll bring up our our welding students as well. It looks like all of CTE is about to be recognized. Come on up. I'm going to let the teachers talk about the students because they worked with them all the time. they have a lot to say. >> Okay. So, today we want to recognize um an outstanding achievement with our culinary arts and FCCLA program.

So, please join me in honoring Miss Dena Vu. Um Dena earned second place at our regional competition in Corpus um back in April. And uh she competed in baking and pastry. So she had to bake cookies and then she had to frost a cake in a matter of like an hour and 45 minutes. So it's pressured and she had to um be prepared which we practiced a lot in class and um and then she was she advanced to state. So then we went to Dallas and competed at state um where competition is a lot more difficult. She had to bake um chocolate chip cookies. She had to bake pate chew, which is a chocolate cla. It's very delicate. And then she also had to make banana um crumble muffins and frosted cake in a matter

of 3 hours and 45 minutes. And um that was very challenging, but she worked very hard and she did excellent and we're super proud of her. Um, we just want to say that she um throughout the season she demonstrated exceptional technical skills, creativity, and great time management and professionalism. And so, congratulations, Dena, on an incredible season and for representing our school so well. And we're looking forward to doing it again next year. Yes. >> Okay. So this year we began our welding club and our students did a really amazing job. So they were able to make it to state and in that time they were building a stool. That's what they decided to build. So they were in the furniture division and they've done a really great job with it. They did a great job

leading up to it. Um just becoming coming up with the project, coming up with all the designs and different things that go into that. So, we're very proud of them and what the the work that they've done to complete the project and make it to state. And um not only that, they've just done a great job representing the program throughout the year. Um all of the boys here are also officers of our welding club and so they've done a wonderful job with that. And I was very impressed to see that whenever we went to all of our different things like leadership um conferences and things like that, they were also willing to grab the mic and answer the questions that they were being asked and they did a wonderful job with that. So we were

really I was really impressed with that and I think it's a great representation of the program. And so um whenever they went to their competition, they earned a blue ribbon which is the highest that they could get without placing necessarily. So, um, they did a wonderful job and I got to, me and Miss Lad both got to watch them interview and they did a wonderful job and, um, it was just really great to see them come out of their shells and present their project. So, um, the first student we have is Anthony Diaz Deleon and Braden Fowler. Oh, sorry. and Jaden Bryant. >> And then we had one more student that couldn't be here with, but it is Raiden Canard. So, he's also a senior. All right. So, as they walk over, I want to

tell you guys if you didn't get to make it out yesterday, we had classroom to career signing day. So, we brought all of our CD CTE students who had received their certificates who had a letter of intent to sign from our industry leaders giving them jobs and careers. It was amazing. Yesterday, we had the pinning for our nursing science. This whole stage, we had to move it to the auditorium. Last year was the library. We had so many students who have industry certifications and intents to go out and start their careers that we had it on this stage and had a full crowd. So congratulations Miss Lad and to our teachers of our CTE. fell asleep like five minutes later. All right, I'm moving to uh Miss Roberts. Are you here? Miss Simone Roberts. There

she is. We are going to celebrate a Rockport Fulton High School student who is advancing to state in our vase art competition. Cool. I didn't know that I had to prepare a speech. So, um yes. So, um, Vay competition, uh, you could start it as soon as school starts. And Miss Kaylee Schiller, she did, uh, spend a lot of time on her art piece. About what, what would you say, 80 hours plus? Yes. Um, and it's not only just her art piece. She does have to go to the competition. She does have to interview. So, she has to think about and talk about her thought process, um, the meaning behind the art piece itself and everything that she included in it. So, we are very proud to have an art state qualifier. Um, Miss Kaylee

Schiller. Let's go on. >> Come on up. All right, I'm going to move to Coach Sosa with our last two celebrations. I'll let you turn the mic off. >> All right, thank you very much. Uh so I am to recognize uh we have a special group of uh student athletes that are in Austin right now. They're at uh they will be competing at the Mike Meyers Stadium at uh University of Texas at the state track meet, track and field meet. Uh the 4A competition is tomorrow. So starting us off at 10:45, Jordan BS, he'll be run or he'll be participating in the long jump. Uh at one o'clock, Gus Johnson, our saludiatoran, he will be uh participating in the pole vault. And then we have a little bit of break, but then at 5:00 pm,

that's whenever all the running events begin. Our 4x1 team uh consisting of Nalagandandy, Holly Burger, Bergen, sorry, uh Addison Burton, and Logan Wood with the alternate of Jada Sanders. Uh they will be participating at 5:00 pm. Um and so uh be thinking about these uh these individuals at this time. And the last event that we will be doing is Logan Wood. She qualified in two events. Uh she will be running at about 545 in the 100 meter hurdles. Uh she is just a sophomore. This is the second year in a row that she's made it. Uh and so we're uh we're very very excited. Um Addison and Gus are two seniors uh that that will be on that track tomorrow. And so we are very very excited about them uh and all of their their

accomplishments. We had our uh spring sports uh ceremony last week and coach Swinford, Coach Blue and all the coaches of the track coaches, they did a great job of just highlighting all of our student athletes. But um at tomorrow at about five hopefully 45 and 13 seconds then uh RFISD athletics in the 2526 season will finally be over. And so we are super excited. We are uh proud of them. It will be live uh broadcasted. So if you have any time at 10:45, 1 o'clock, 5 o'clock and 5:45 then please uh tune in to watch your RFISD athletes. Okay. Uh, the next thing I want to do is the welding. Yeah, go ahead. Uh, the welding that was just uh just announced. Um, we have some unbelievable uh athletes, students in this school district. Um,

all four of those welders were also athletics where they were athletes, they were multiport athletes. Uh, and that just shows the versatility of what our students are doing. Um, unbelievable that Anthony was a a a district uh golf uh regional qualifier in golf. Braden Fowler and Raiden Canar were both football players and then Jaden Bryant was a soccer player. And so they have very early mornings, late nights. And then on top of that, they're being wellrounded individuals with the CTE department. And it's not just them. there are we've seen it all throughout the year of uh kids that are in extracurricular activities whether it be fine arts uh whether it be choir band and uh just very very proud of them. So can we give those uh those individuals another round of applause. Uh lastly

I have the academic allstate uh people that that were recognized for academic all state. So if y'all can go ahead and come on up here. Uh a lot of them uh a few of them are in Austin as well. And so, uh, I'll I'll speak about them really quick and we'll, uh, we'll get through this. Um, but we do have a a good number. This, uh, we already introduced many of these, but they are do done by, um, really by seasons. And so, these are all the winter and the uh, spring sports. So, first off is Gus Johnson. He was boys track and he was the Texas High School Coach Association elite team. Caleb Wilshire, uh, boys track. He was THSCA second team. Hunter Tholey, he was boys track, THSCA second team. As well, Brady

Cuttingham, boys track, THSCA second team. We have Adrian Virrial. He was boys tracksca honorable mention. Aaron Gonzalez is boys track tha honorable mention. Mr. Trey Alvarado, THSCA honorable mention for boys track. Congratulations. And then we have Addison Burton. Uh she's not only fast on the track, but she's pretty smart in the classroom. Uh she's THSCA first team. Olivia Carney, girls track, THSCA second team. Mattie Dykes, softball. THSCA second team. Natalie Kelly, softball. THSCA. Honorable mention. For girls soccer, we have Mercedes Esparza. She was TA T AO academic all state. Miss Cara Hill. Uh, girls soft or girls soccer. T A S C O academic all state. Emily Shahan, she was also Tasco's academic all state. She's going to say the word. Uh Ashley Ruiz, uh she was Tasco academic all state. And then for the

boys soccer, it was Xavier Silva, Tasco academic all state. So again, we are very proud of what they do uh on the field obviously, but in the classroom is even more more important in our eyes and uh these are just a number of kids that are really all the seniors that have been able to uh to demonstrate that. So thank you very much. All right, that brings us to agenda item six, which is our public comment. And we do have individuals speaking tonight. So, let me read this before we start. The board welcomes comments about the district from members of the public. Anyone who has signed up to speak in advance of the meeting in accordance with the board pol procedures may do so at this time. The board asked that each participant's comments pertain

to district business and be no longer than three minutes. Please be advised that the information shared in public comment is is not an endorsement or of the information shared by the presenter and solely provides the opinion of the individual speaker and not the district. In addition, the board has adopted policies to provide prompt and equitable resolution of complaints and concerns for employees, students or their parents as well as the general public. Copies of our district policies and procedures on public comment and filing complaints are available at the superintendent's office or on the RFID school board web page at rfistd. us. Please remember that the board may not discuss or act upon any issues that are not properly posted on the agenda. And our first speaker will be Tristan Atkins. Is that correct? Miss, do you

have the timer? All right. >> Hello everyone. Uh, thank you for your time and allowing me to speak up here. Uh over the last month, I've been conducting interviews with teachers and uh faculty members who have served currently serving and used to serve uh the high school, elementary school, and uh middle school in the area. And I thought I'd come up and bring up just some topics that consistently came up. So, a big issue I'm worried about with the interviews I conducted was the student policy was both on the website not very clear as well as the handbooks that were available to us. Um, regarding things like absenteeism, uh, we believe that the approach to these kind of things should be less punitive and more like interventionist. And we think that there's not enough policy

regarding this like topic specifically. I'll keep it short and brief. Um, another point that was brought up to me by someone recently was uh regarding teacher retention and how our numbers may not be as optimal for retaining new teachers as uh we would like to be compared to like the state average. Uh so some quick policy points that I'd like to point out would be having a good relationship between the principles and the teachers and having more than just like my door is open policy and more of like a regular check-in. Uh these were some brief points that I discussed as well in my interviews that I believe could be of importance to um retaining teachers. Uh and lastly, I'd just like to say I think it would be nice to have more perspectives on

this issue. Uh and I also reach out to all members of the board as well as the audience if they'd like to reach out to talk to me and schedule an interview about policies and uh things we can do to improve the area because there may be something that I've missed and I'd like to hear everyone's perspective. You can reach out to me via my email [email protected]. Uh if you'd like to talk about um policy and various things we've discussed uh postcoid9 epidemic and even during uh which was like a concern regarding test scores. All right. Um that's the rest of my points. Thank you so much for your time. >> Thank you. All right, our next speaker will be Dr. Kathy McAuliff. Good evening. Can you hear? Okay. Uh my name is Kathy McAuliffe

and my background is in primarily in child development and early childhood which is defined as birth through age eight. My colleagues and I have been talking about some concerns we had and uh so what I'm thinking about is kind of what do we do about it? Um and so I'm not talking about necessarily a specific problem or concern but just some remedies. Um and so starting with the board, I have addressed the board in the past. I probably most of you were there and remember and one of the things I talked about was ROI or return on investment. I had a handout that particular night. In fact, I forgot that I I have a handout. Can I give it to you, Mr. Fogle? >> Um, so the return on investment for early childhood is between

seven and 10%. Which is amazing if you were if you know investing, you know. So that that's an incredible return on investment. But what's interesting is that when we go down to birth, when we start addressing issues at birth and supporting families at birth, it goes up to 13% ROI, which is just incredible. And so what that means is I think the school district could think about partnering with those early care and education programs that are in the in the area. And I know there aren't many because we're in a daycare desert. Uh but we do have some. I'd like to read a quote from the Hecman report which is on the handout. We must insist that schools incorporate social and emotional learning in K through2 instruction. Character can be developed and should be measured

long before the ultimate test of employability in the job market. Individuals cannot complete compete for jobs without intelligence and character. And America cannot compete in the global marketplace without a first class workforce. People in society deserve accurate measures of their potential to create prosperity. And so then what can administrators at each of the campuses do? Um Dr. Marilyn Armor defines restorative practices. I don't know if you aware of what that is. It's a relational approach to building school climate and addressing student behavior that fosters belonging over exclusion, social engagement over control, and meaningful accountability over punishment. And of a little bit about what Mr. Atkins was saying there, restorative practices in Texas began in the fall of 2015. The Texas Education Agency partnered with University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work to participate

in a statewide roll out. And there are 17 school districts in Texas who are using this approach. RFISD is not one of them as far as I know. They're not on the list. Um, and then what can parents do? I think we all know that many students come to school prepared to learn and many students come to school with a respectful attitude, but we are all also very aware, I am sure that many students come to school, Can I finish my sentence? Many students come to school with a completely different attitude. And both of those attitudes start at home. So it starts with parents. So full circle early childhood. Let's work on that. Let's invest in that and then we'll see the gains of the later. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> All right. Our

next >> Hey, Kenny. [snorts] Yes. Real >> quick. I did I [clears throat] was unable to get his email address. >> Justin Atkins. >> I'm sorry. One more time. US >> and then a t k i ns. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Um I just want to say one thing. Um I think it's awesome to see a young person come out and get involved. I think it's great. Thank you. All right. Our next speaker is Ronnie Lamb. The infamous >> Ronnie Lamb. This looks what my tab I'm from Rockport. Is it on? I'm from Rockport. Look at this crowd now. This is what my TAB girls look like. My basketball team looked like when I got there. I had three fans clapping. I guaranteed the playoffs and the athletic director said, "Just try to win

a game, big shot, before you go to the playoffs." Now I'm seeing my hometown, Rockport. I graduated here in 79. I was stuck with this little bitty body because my dad was about 5'5. I played college semi-pro basketball. I did a halftime shooting show at the Austin Convention Center. I'm the only guy I know in a semi-pro game to make four half court shots in a row to start the game. When all the 68 guys line up after the game and give you five and say, "We ain't never seen nothing like that." And you come year after year, you come to the girls basketball games and you see the same stuff. We have the best athletes in the state. They're going to state. And Rockport girls basketball finishes dead last. Now, I got into the

schoolboard lady's child and stuff. I went went ahead and which was the toughest coaching I ever did. I had three daughters. How's my time doing? All right. As a coach, I know what I'm going to do next time. I'm going to get about 40 people out there and they're all going to give me their three minutes and then I'll have time enough to say, "I gave all the cards out. I'd like to talk to each one of you individually." When I went to the little league, what's happening there? There's no way I can finish this up. I'm not a doctor and I'm not an attorney, even though it sounds like I am. I've been fishing here in Rockport for 25 years. I coached for eight years. You can check in the Corpus Christie caller in

04195. That same team that had three fans, we had a jam-packed house. No place to sit down before I left. in one year when I guaranteed the playoffs and that athletic director said just try to win a game big shot. I went and met the girls that that day and remember I had this halfcourt range and I tell him that we're going to be in the playoffs. We're going to put a life-sized picture on the wall and Blanch, one of my players, raised her hand and said, "Coach, we won three games last year." And I said, "I know, Blanch, because you don't know how to play. I'm going to teach you how to steal it, shoot it." And about halfway through the year, we ended up beating a sin lady. then went to the regional

tournament. We ended up knocking the legendary Pat Hunt out of the playoffs and a big famous named Wanda Bender. We beat her 50 to35. Now, when I got there, the girls didn't even like each other. I'd call timeout and they're like, "Whatever, dude." So, I had all of that to fix. And it sounds like it's going to be a happy ending, but this is my coaching story of eight years. The same thing. May I finish my sentence? the uh after setting school's history and Taft and all this stuff, we went two rounds of the playoffs. We beat the big name 50 to 35 and then the next round we lost by a point. Remember, these girls could only jump half an inch high and they were dead last. That is an all-star team. I was

going to bet coach Sosa $10,000 and he can hold the money if I'm not first or second in the regional tournament. I got to tell you about Sinton, the Sint girls. Um, I'll borrow time next week. The Sentin girls was the big shot team around here this year. They went undefeated and all that. They had a seventh grade coach as their coach. I know that because when we set school series during Taft, my JV coach went over and said, "Why don't you hire coach Lamb? Y'all never lose again." They said, "Because we don't want to win." So, they select the sports that they want to win. So, the they want to win some, but not to mess up the other sports. See, if I was here and we go to the regional tournament every year,

then the coach coach >> So, Mr. Lamb, we're out of time. >> I'm almost done. >> No, that is a lot of sentences. So, >> Okay. Well, anyway, >> cut you off. You come back next meeting. >> I I guarantee we'll have about 40 out there. >> Okay. Thank you so much for coming, though. >> We appreciate it. >> All right. Our last speaker is Alice. Is it Pollson? >> Pson. Thank you. Hello. Hello. No. Oh, yes. Okay. Um I am here because I am deeply concerned in the way our education is going. Um I do not have children of my own and many say why do you care? But I do care very much because I'm an American and I want to see America be the best it can be. I'm also concerned about

wasting tax money um for issues that do not improve education. I feel that we're lagging behind in education versus other countries in the world, China, Russia. Um and one issue I strongly disagree with is the requirement to post the Ten Commandments in every classroom. Religion should be practiced and taught in places of worship or at home according to each family's belief. Schools should not schools should focus on education, teaching students the skills they need to succeed in life such as math, writing, science, and history. It seems that this country is going towards a Christian nationalism. And I've never heard of that before until this um regime came into office. And I think y'all know better. Um, but I there's something going on that I don't understand why posting the Ten Commandments in classrooms is such

an important thing to do. Um, it won't make you smarter and it won't make you more religious. Instead, why not post the Constitution of the United States, a document that applies to every citizen and teaches students about their rights and responsibilities? I've I've understand the blue bonnet um is to me it's a big scam. No reason to sell out education over nonsense and we don't need the money. But you know that's another topic. Um I want my tax dollars to be used to give students a stronger start in life. Right now we are failing many of our students. Religion and instruction belongs outside the classroom. Schools should be focused on education because today's students are the future of the United States of America. Thank you. >> Thank you. All right, that brings us to item

number seven, which is a close session. So, at this time, the board will recess an executive session pursuant to the Texas Government Code section 551 04. And this should be about 5 minutes. And the time is 6:26 p.m. 6:29 p.m. and we'll reconvene into open session. We'll move to agenda item 8A to take uh consider and take possible action to organize the officers of the board. So in accordance with the state law and RFISD board policy BDA legal, the board members shall elect officers after each board election or upon an officer vacancy. The board shall elect a president, a vice president and secretary by a majority vote. We will consider each position separately starting with the president. I will call for nominations for from the board of members for this position. Once nominations are closed,

the board will vote on the nominees in the order they were presented. Once a nominee receives a majority vote, the election for that position will end and the remaining nominees will not be considered. If no nominee receives a majority vote, the board will vote on all nominees again in the same order until a nominee is selected by a majority vote. So, at this time, I will open nominations for the board president. Are there any nominations? >> I nominate Kenny Kruzan for president. I nominate Kenny Kruzianne for board president. >> Second. >> All right, we have a nomination. Any other nominations? If not, we'll close on nominations. So, we have a motion made by Miss Jarnell, seconded by Mr. Burton. We'll take a vote. All in favor? >> Any opposed? Motion carries 70. At this time,

we'll open nominations for vice president. Are there any nominations? Yeah, I'll nominate Michaela Austin for vice president. >> Second. >> Are there any other nominations? If no other nominations, then I'll consider that a motion made by >> Logan. Mr. Burton >> and seconded by >> Mr. Yarnell. >> We'll take a vote. All in favor? >> I. Any opposed? Motion carries 70. All right, we'll open nominations for secretary. >> I nominate Bonnie Randall for secretary. Any other nominations? We'll close. We have a motion second by Mr. Jarnell, seconded by Mr. Burton. All in favor? I. Any opposed? Motion carries. 70. Congratulations. >> Congratulations. >> Yes. Congratulations. [laughter] >> All right, that moves us to agenda item number nine and that is our board of trustees report. Do we have any committee reports? All right. So, in

y'all's uh folders and in board books, I had asked Dina to place three calendar options for the 2026 2027 board meetings. Um, this is something we don't have to vote on. We will not vote on, but I wanted to discuss it tonight uh just because we need to start doing the scheduling. Uh and if we keep the same uh calendar as we've always had the the third Thursday of the month, then we're going to have a lot of conflicts, scheduling conflicts, and those include holidays, district closers, um facility conflicts, and and and some other things. I think I counted five conflicts knowing going into it. And that didn't include things that pop up. And that could be Rockport Night at the Hooks. that could be uh what was another one I'm trying to think of

the televised Thursday football games um things like that. So uh that's why I asked her to to make some get with administrators and and see if there was a better day or a better week. And so they came up with uh I think there's a calendar B that is moving the board meetings to the fourth Tuesday of the month and then and then C was [snorts] the fourth Monday. So I wanted to know any thoughts, ideas. Well, I know obviously middle school has Tuesday nights sporting events, Wednesday night's church, Thursday what we're used to, and I know how hard it is for us to get the reports even to have a meeting on a Thursday. So, if we move it to a Monday, that's going to make it >> fourth Monday. >> But it it

I mean, we even if we're on the fourth Thursday, we still don't get our reports until >> we're the third Thursday right now. So, the fourth Monday should give us I think what she's saying is on >> th Go ahead. I'll let you talk. >> So if on Thursdays, we're still not getting all of our information until Tuesdays and Wednesdays on a lot of these things. So if we move it to a Monday, that really puts pressure on you guys to get all these reports to us, especially with what the 10 posted date or the >> The new rule. So, like there's going to be a lot that changes between My only thing is I think on Monday is going to make it really hard on y'all to get everything to us in time to

read it. My thought. >> Mr. Vogle, what are your thoughts? >> Um, I'm good. whatever we settle on. I don't like changes. That's my thing. I don't like changes. >> Well, that's why I brought it up because if going into the Thursdays, we will have at least five changes. >> I see that. >> That's half. >> I see that. >> Almost half of >> So, I hadn't looked this over yet. So, let me look it over. >> Okay. Well, y'all look it over and then y'all report back to me. Uh, and then I'll call each one of y'all in and ask you your feelings and then uh I'll give Dr. Austin. >> Sound good? Any other committee reports? >> Mr. Burton. >> No. >> Okay. All right. Then we'll move to agenda item 10, a

bond 2022 project update. We have teal construction and clay comb. We good now? Yes. Perfect. Good evening. How is everybody? Um I guess we'll just go ahead and jump right on into it. Um, project status, we're we're getting ever closer. Project billing is 97% complete. Uh, we authorized 37.98 million of the 39.24. Substantial completion is June of 2026. Jam, is that correct this morning? >> Okay. Any questions on that before we go any further? >> You'll note that slipp from last month. Uh there was some weather uh that caused some in that last little section of building. Uh it's really tight. Our schedule's really tight and we just had a little bit of weather and it pushed us out of May and into June on completion mid June >> and then uh you want go

ahead. >> Yeah. So last month um we continued with uh interior signage, interior room signage. Uh poured uh some flat work uh in the uh phase 2 parking areas. Uh poured our foundations for uh area G. Um erected all the steel uh in area G. Uh continued some installation of some uh the site fencing. Uh got all the lighting program um in the school. exciting uh and we continued uh in conjunction with Clum working on uh creating the punch list and and creating and completing items off the punch list. Moving forward, it'll be uh a lot of work in area G getting that vestibule wrapped up um you know storefronts and all the interior space uh roof uh there's a lot of work roof drains going in. So, a lot of work moving over there.

Uh, we'll be wrapping up a lot of the paving and all the underground utilities. Uh, those are going in phase two right now. Storm sewer, rerouting some sanitary sewer over there, um, to improve some existing utilities back in that area. Um, we wrapping up some asphalt patching that's up in the front of the school between just right over here, uh, to the north of the auditorium. that'll be happening during the next couple days. And we've got some asphalt patching over in the stadium parking lot occurring getting out of the stadium parking lot with all of our equipment and material that's still laying down over there. Uh continuing working on punch list as we're wrapping up some of these areas. Uh and then also addressing those punches items areas are already complete. Uh as you'll as

kids school is ending and kids are getting out of school. Uh we start really focusing hard on getting those punches items completed and out of the way and moving on with projects. >> Yeah. And uh to address address the punch [clears throat] list just to I think I've explained it, but just want to clarify to to y'all and to anybody else watching the way that that works is they make their own punch list, we make our punch list. Going through the project, you know, as as everybody's working, sometimes you can walk past the same thing over and over and just not notice that it needs to be corrected. Uh Richard and I have gone into the building and looked at every wall, every ceiling, every every square inch of floor, wrote down every flaw, at

least within industry standards that that we, you know, that we found, put a put a big Excel document together, send it to Jamon. We're still working on that. There's still some areas that we need to to get into to write down, but he's got a a pretty good list to be working off of, and that'll that'll hope happen over time. Uh luckily we've got the summer where you'll have a lot of availability for them to go into the classroom areas to work on punch list items and then also the athletic areas that we're turning around as well. The other thing [clears throat] I did want to sometimes we use words that are familiar to us but maybe not anybody outside of the direct construction project. We we talk about area G. That's because in our

drawings we have different areas. What that is is it's right between your um old manhole. So in the photo on the right you can that building to the right is where your old band hall is. That's where we're building a new vestibule, new entry into the building. That is the remaining construction work that is going on. And then there's also some uh some paving, some sidewalks that need to go in, some landscaping, but this is the last remaining part of the actual building building that we're doing. And uh right, this is a photo from a couple weeks ago while they were preparing for foundations. Um here's a couple of photos. They're not great because I think the the lighting wasn't phenomenal when I was able to take these photos, but you can see the steel's

gone in now. Right now, they're working on we're waiting on storefront frames for the for the entrance. There's um other finishes that are going to go in there, but those are those are occurring pretty rapidly and we're we're making progress on that. Um those are the pretty pictures I have of the high school. Does anybody have any questions or comments on that project? forgot to ask in our bond committee meeting this earlier. Uh are how are we on our temporary CO? >> Uh I believe that's been uh called in. I need to confirm with Larry. We talked about it today and he's calling it in uh and they should be on site tomorrow. >> If not tomorrow, if not tomorrow, it'll be on Friday. >> It'll be this week. The temporary co for seat for

for the athletic areas. >> Okay. But the high school they had extended us. Did we meet the deadline? >> Yes, that's it's extended out into I believe that July was the was the was >> Okay. >> We'll be well within that timeline. >> And this little piece right here needs to get finished for us to get the final final. Um and also there will be some other things that this being completed triggers. You know, we'll have somebody come out and review it for accessibility. And there's going to be other things like that that we're waiting till everything's actually in place in order to do that. I just wanted to add, you said a punch list from the architects, a punch list from the contractor. We also have a punch list from the district, which is

kind of what we call our priority punch list. And I just wanted to add or I would like the um air condition system in the locker room to be added to that if it's not already because I went by there today and it was sounds like it's going to blow up. >> We'll make sure it gets added to that list. >> Thank you. >> Yes. Uh just a quick question. So substantial completion, we kind of talk about this just about every month, but uh mid June 2026. How many days after that is final final completion? Like when do y'all move off site and let us move fully into the building? Like 100% usable and y'all are gone. >> Um >> when is that? We've so we've got some uh large punch list items in the

locker room specifically, >> right? >> Uh that that will keep us uh on site and in your hair until uh late July. Um but that will be about the most of the work that's going on. It'll be focused in very lockers. >> Okay. >> So about a month before we move back in before the kids show back up. >> Two weeks. Okay. Well, that brings up the question of parking lot accessibility. Like all the parking lots will be cleaned. >> Correct. >> Like way before July to where >> Yes. >> everybody can park where they need to park. >> That's exactly right. >> Okay. No. So, I still did I didn't hear the date. So, you're saying by the end of July? >> That's correct. >> Okay. The end of July. All right. Thank you.

Okay, perfect. Thanks. Um, then on to Fulton Elementary. Um, just to give a kind of a status update on that. Uh, I they have reached out and said that it's time for me to come check the punch list. I'll be coming. I'm going to wait until next Friday when you don't have students in there just that way I'm not in anybody's way. Uh, I'm I'm not throwing anything off. Uh but me and I I'll probably bring uh somebody with me from our office that um will start coming down here more with me as we're doing this and uh we'll be checking it and I believe I'm expecting closeout documents shortly from teal. Uh we've been going back and forth. There's some paperwork that just needs to be done at the end of the project making

sure all your warranty paperwork's in order. Um making sure all all of your operations and maintenance manuals are are provided in the format that is useful to you. Uh, and so we're I think couple of those are coming my way and then that that should be the remainder of that project. Any comments? >> Again, with summer coming up, I know there's some flooring that, uh, I want to walk with, uh, Mike and his team, probably Sean uh, and Josh also, and make sure that we get all there's some flooring that's on the punch list. It's a challenge to do while students are there. So once those kids get out here in the next, you know, week and a half, we'll be over there identifying the flooring that needs to get replaced, we'll replace it and

uh to allow that punch list item to be correct, completed. >> Okay. So, let me go back to what Josh said. So Josh said he's waiting until next week to do the punch walkth through that Teal has already submitted to him saying that you guys are finished with the punch list, but now you're saying that you're still going to have to wait and do flooring. Is that Did I understand all that? >> That's correct. There's part of one of the things that Josh is going to be walking is looking at that flooring with us. >> But the flooring isn't replaced. So >> it's not it's not a mass wide uh expansive flooring. very specific tiles that a handful of tiles that need to be replaced. >> So, would it make more sense to have Josh

come the week after y'all get the flooring done so that y'all are full throttle? >> I need Josh here to help identify the floor that needs to get replaced so we're on the same page. >> I like coming down here, too, so I won't I won't have a problem coming a second time. >> I I just want to make sure that when Josh signs off that everything is complete before >> that won't happen next. That won't happen on the 22nd. Okay. But just because Josh isn't coming next week doesn't mean Teal's not active this next week. Making sure your punch list minus the floor >> Yes. >> is completely done. >> That's great. >> Just want to make sure. >> For the record, I will come as many times as you guys need me to

come. >> I like to fish and sometimes I do it after after work. >> Well, I always see a lot of movement right when we're about to have meetings. So, I want to make sure that everything is happening this next week minus the floor to where everything is sealed and signed and done for Fulton so they can have their building and then we can focus solely on high school and athletics. >> Understood. >> Any other questions, comments? >> Doesn't look like it. Thank you. >> Thank you. All right, that brings us to agenda item 10B, Senate Bill 546, requirements regarding threepoint seat belts on buses. We have Sean Fletcher presenting. >> All right. Good evening. So, uh, as it says, Senate Bill 546, uh, which the legislation changed, um, or strengthening strengthening the standards for

school buses, uh, requiring a threepoint, um, seat belt. So, this is supposed to be completed by the 1st of September, 29. Um, but the first part of this uh bill, they are reaching out for data to find out really what it's going to cost. So, for us, we have 12 buses that are are done. We don't have to worry about them. Um, and we have 17 that don't have anything. So, of those 17, 12 of those can be retrofitted. Um, but there's four or five of them that are going to require completely refit, like taking all the seats out and it's like 80 grand. So, total for us it would be about 660,000. >> So, two things on that. One is the four or five buses that do not have safety harnesses whatsoever. Um, that

those are they close to retirement at all? >> Yes. >> How close? One one of them I believe uh they're saying is going up for auction here pretty quick >> like next year or >> I don't know the date on that. I have to verify that but I know it's it's soon. >> Okay. And then when does this all have to take place? >> The 1st of September 2029. >> Okay. >> But like I said, the first part is just to gather data and hopefully once they have all that information to find out that all the school districts cannot afford to do all that, there's going to be opportunities for grants. Well, so then that was my third question is are they going to supply the funding for it or are they saying >> that's

not that's we don't know that right now. >> Awesome. >> The Senate bill has a deadline at the end of this month that if we um say that we determine that we can't afford it, we have to document it in a public meeting. Is that what we're doing here or are you just providing information? >> We can't afford it. Yes, we are documenting the survey, talking to you about it, and yes, telling you that 620,000 we do not have it. Um, and then we turned that in. >> It was reported in Sentinel. >> Um, >> do we need to do something officially that says we are we are at a public meeting and we're determining that we can't afford these funds right now. You're just giving us >> I think this is just an awareness.

>> Yeah, it just said to report it, not a resolution. There wasn't anything that came with. We had to have a resolution. and it was reporting it in a public meeting is all it told us to do. >> Just curious, those uh four or five buses that uh need a major renovation, what are they going to retire by? Um will we have any of them by 29th? I would imagine we'd have one or two, but I don't know that for a fact. I'd have to get back and and let you know. >> Okay. So, we might have three or four we don't have to worry about. Right. Okay. >> Any other questions, comments? >> All right. Thank you. >> I'll just stay up here because I think the next three are on me. >> Yes.

>> I was giving you time to sit down. All right. We'll move to item 11 A. Consider take possible action to >> I'm sorry, one one more thing on that. We're talking about retiring the buses and that, you know, but we still have to have a certain number of buses in our fleet. So even with those retiring, we would have to get new buses which would already have the seat belts, but that's still going to cost us money. So there's still going to be money spent. >> Everything after that we bought after 2018 has all the requirements, >> right? But we're still it's not like we're getting out of spending money. We're just having to spend it differently. >> Correct. Thank you. I just want to clarify that because >> by subtraction. >> Yes. Thank

you. >> All right. We'll go to 11A. Consider take possible action to approve the auditorium lighting upgrade. >> All right. So, this is uh to approve the lighting in here up on the catwalks. And I believe there's some uh stage uh curtains that is also going to be replaced uh for this. Um and it's this is not to exceed. We have a quote and I believe it's 139,000 at this point. And the problem with lights is uh especially stage lights is there just not a lot of people that do it and there's even less people that do it that integrates with the system that we have. So, and if you have any additional questions about lighting, John Letman is in the back waiting for your questions because I know nothing about lighting. And this would

be paid out of uh bond funds under the uh fine arts upgrades in the bond 2022. Any other questions? If not, I'll look for a motion. >> I make a motion to approve the purchase and installation of upgraded lighting for the Martha Luigi Auditorium not to exceed 150,000 to be paid out of bond funds. >> All right. Motion made by M. Austin, seconded by M. Randall. Any further discussion? If not, we'll take a vote. All in favor? I. Any opposed? Motion carries 70. That brings us to 11B. Consider take possible action to authorize the superintendent to execute the TXU energy contract using TIPS interlocal. >> Okay. So, this is for the meters that we have at the new softball concessions and the new addition at the high school. Um we see uh to try and

get the rate with um the contract that we have for the other parts of the high school and they would not they would not add any additional meters to that. So this is um best deal that we have have seen and it continues to move as the days go. Um this is a do not exceed uh 68 cents per kilowatt hour. I think yesterday or this morning we had 67 So, um, >> when is our current contract up? >> 2030. And this one would expire during that time as well. And then we would be able to compine combine everything together >> and it would be fixed rate obviously. >> Yes, it would be under contract similar to what we have now. >> And here, my only reservation is obviously with things that are going on

right now, we are we sign a contract, we're at a we're at a So, if it's not to exceed it, it can still fluctuate below the 68, which is what I'm hearing, right? >> It's it's below that right now. It's at 67 cents right now, but it's been changing multiple times throughout the day over the last couple days. So, if we don't lock it in, there's potential that it could go over that. And you're saying that this is only for the meters that serve the new high school expansion and the softball >> softball concessions. And then if I heard you right, this contract carries through to the end of of the time of of renewal for everything. >> Correct. And then we >> so that we can get them on the same schedule. Right. >>

Okay. >> 2030. Yes, sir. So, is there a way to to get I know it'd be a higher rate, but maybe for a shorter term so that we could look at this in a year or two. >> I'm sure there is. I I have not been dealing with this particular contractor myself. Mike has been dealing with him. Sean's not gonna get up here for Mike ever again. [laughter] >> I'm not scared. >> So, the question was, can we do this and then go back to >> can we take a higher rate for a shorter term for just those two meters? >> Because I think what male Austin is saying is that >> is that right now we're it looks like electricity is at the highest rate. I mean, it could go higher. There's no doubt,

but there's a better chance that maybe in a year or two it would go down >> once, >> right? >> And I don't know that that was fully explored. I can't speak for Mike, but I'm assuming that the intent was to get them all to expire around the same time. That way they we could combine them with all the same rate. I don't know what the time is. >> I know we're just talking about it, but uh I mean could we not just make a motion that includes a little flexibility here that allows the superintendent to >> negotiate? >> Yeah, I would rather because I feel like again this is kind of how it was [clears throat] however many years ago, two years ago when energy was at the highest and we all of course

had to play the game or whatever. I just know with taxpayer dollars being as tight as they are, if we can save, we need to be saving. And so I feel like >> walk into a longer contract, >> I would rather pay more for a shorter time knowing that it's going to most likely drop in my opinion. responsible. >> How does it compare to the current rate on the other contract? >> Does anybody know? >> About 25 roughly. I think it's 44 cents. >> Yeah, that's a lot higher. >> Yes. >> That's why they say >> and it's a lot of area. >> Okay. And then um how important is it that it's with TXU energy using tips? How important is that, Dr. Austin? Do you know? >> Well, local which is why we didn't

have to go out to So is that part of the what would you call it? >> Co-op. >> So it would likely you would we would likely stick with them. It would just we would you might uh investigate some other options on some different >> possib Okay. Well then I'd make a motion to authorize the sup can can yeah to to authorize the superintendent to exe to negotiate and execute a contract with TXU energy using tips interlocal for a price Not to exceed. >> Do I need to go up on this number? >> Well, if you're going to go >> shorter, if you're going a shorter time, >> higher rate for a shorter time. >> Yeah, that's why. >> So, I'd make a motion to authorize the superintendent to execute a contract, a flexible contract

with TX >> Or another vendor. That's fine. Uh not to exceed I'll go I'll start with $75 per megawatt hour. Oh, and to um investigate other options for the the duration of the contract to consider those. Yeah. >> No, it's megawatt is dollars, kilowatt is cents. >> Come on. >> They're not. >> You don't go to power to choose.org all the time. >> No, you did it right. All right, we have a motion on the table. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> All right, motion made by Mrs. Mr. Burton, seconded by Miss Austin. Any further discussion? >> All right, we'll take a vote. All in favor? >> Any opposed? Motion carries. 70. >> Sean, do you want me to take this next one? [laughter] >> This is actually the one I know the

most about. >> Okay, go for it. >> All right, we'll go to item 11 C. consider take possible action to approve high school facility upgrades to the maritime program. >> All right, so this is converting the old ban hall into the maritime facility, I guess you could call it. Uh this would include painting uh removing the um the old carpet VCT, having them uh sand the floor, and then um clear coat it with some epoxy, so it's like an actual shop, so it'll last. I mean, the the carpet in there is pretty rough as it is. So regardless, the flooring needs to be redone. Yeah. So I think that was the last time it was painted, too. And it looks just like that. >> And I will say this would be part of the bond

project because this is an upgrade to the high school facility which was a priority for all of our our programs. And right now maritime is in a barn-like thing. Um a couple things that I saw even in the last as we finally have been getting rain, our kids have to run out to the maritime facility in the pouring rain so much that they would not do it. Refused. So I told them if I beat them to the maritime facility, I don't know, maybe some detention. So I ran out in the rain with them and we cannot expect them to do that every time. And so this puts them inside the building. It's a bigger space. Um and I think it's going to be uh phenomenal for that program feeling like they're part of the school

and having that space. >> And that cost is also the um what it would cost for them to for the techlag company that maintains it. That's with them moving it over to the new facility. That's the lab and um the 12 computer stations that they have. >> Just to piggyback off of what Dr. Austin said, one of the intents for the bond originally too was to bring all students within the building for safety and security. >> I only had a question about the paint portion of the uh attachments that seemed a little high for $42,000. Is that not something something that could be done internally or are we just doing it because we have bond funds? >> No, that this the scope of that in addition to everything that we have um on our plate

for the summer, that's that is a lot lot of work and we're still on the hook for moving the the room that the Maritime is housed in. So, we will be taking care of that. >> One more question, Sean. >> What you got? >> Uh I'm just interested. You don't have to give me the exact number at all, but uh how does the square footage compare between the the the current or existing maritime to the band? I mean, are they similar in size? I thought they were, but >> So, if I recall when I was getting the flooring bid out, it was 6600 square foot the ban hall and I don't think the the current maritime is that big. >> Okay. So, we're they're moving to a bigger area. Yes, sir. >> Okay. That's what

I wanted to measure. Thank you. Part of what they're in right now is a uh warehouse to where they can work inside. Are they going to have that ability in the new facility? Will they have a door to bring trailers in and stuff or >> not? Not not in there. They won't >> not necessarily trailers. I think there's a lot of space. There's some doors on that side, but trailers if they are and and if Mr. Garcia was here. Right now, we haven't done trailers, but if we were to do trailers, next to the welding, there is where wood shop used to be, that will become their outside. So, if they do want to bring in a trailer and they want to work on the electrical or other maritime projects that just don't need to

come into the building, we have designated what y'all used to call the old wood shop as maritimes like shop barn. Sorry. >> It's on the west end of the welding. >> Yes. Yes. And that would make sense because then you'd have welding over there and you have exhaust and all kinds of stuff. So that's good. >> And I'm just going to ask a question because I am rather familiar with the band hall. Um the lower section of it where the uniforms were stored. Have we resolved the flooding issue when it rains? Because I know that was a regular problem. Hard to tell since we haven't had any rain. >> We did we did solve the we we had a bigger issue with the plumbing >> and backing up from there and that issue is solved.

>> Mrs. Randle, we also when they are putting in the new parking lot there, they put in extra drainage. So, I think that I'm not going to say it will. >> It got ankle deep in there a few times. and and part of our our procedures whenever we get rain like that, we put sandbags by known flooding areas. So, >> I look forward to finding that answer out. >> Well, I make a motion to approve the high school facility upgrades for the maritime program not to exceed $135,000 [snorts] to be paid out of bond funds. >> All right. Motion made by Mr. Burton, seconded by Mrs. Randall. Any further discussion? If not, we'll take a vote. All in favor? I. Any opposed? Motion carry 70. That brings us to item 11D. Consider take possible action

to approve ratification of TEAK certification document with the adoption of blue bonnet for math and reading K through five and math 6 through eight. >> Parker Robbins. >> So on March 19th, the board actually approved the provision. Unfortunately, the timeline of the way the grant rolled out when I had to submit this document to TEA just conflicted a bit. So, we've already discussed this. This is really just a ratification to the TE certification document that you approved back in March for those materials now that we have officially received the grant from TEA. And this is in reference to the materials that Mr. Kruzanne mentioned. Any questions about that one? If no questions, I'll look for a motion. >> I move that we approve the ratification of the certification of provision of instructional materials survey for

0912026 2027. >> I second. >> All right. Motion made by Mr. Randle, second by Miss Austin. Any discussion? Not we'll take a vote. All in favor? >> Any opposed? Motion carries. 70 11E consider take possible action to approve the purchase of Blue Bonnet learning materials. >> This is um required board approval simply because uh board policy requires approval of the board for amounts exceeding $50,000. So, I've included those totals for you and this really will have no impact on the local budget because this aotment is provided through the state's um aotment for the this particular set of instructional materials. >> This includes all of our um consumables as well as tees. Correct. >> Yes, ma'am. [clears throat] >> And all optional resources that come with the resource. Yes, ma'am. >> We have been fully coached

in the importance and value of purchasing all print resources that come with this adoption. >> Any questions? Other questions? >> One more thing. Are they also going they're also going to have digital access to the materials? >> They will have digital access. Yes. But we are prioritizing for student learning. >> No, for teachers to have that digital access. >> Digital access. Yes, ma'am. >> No. the students paper and pencil >> don't we already have as I sat in in Fton's training we were allowed to log in and start seeing the digital curriculum >> they currently have full access to digital yes >> any other questions not I'll look for a motion >> I move that we take possible action to approve the purchase of blue bonnet learning materials not to exceed the amount of $182,000

I think >> is Is that the correct motion? >> I was going to say I think it's supposed to just say I move that we take action. >> Not possible. >> You want to amend that motion? >> I move that we take action to approve the purchase of Blue Bonnet learning materials not to exceed the amount of $182,000. >> Motion made by Mr. Burton, seconded by Mr. Randall. Any other discussion? Not we'll take a vote. All in favor? Any opposed? Motion carries. 70. All right. That brings us to item 12, the superintendent report. Dr. Austin. >> Thank you so much. We're going to go ahead and start with Jessica Robbins. Dr. Robins, since she has the mic. >> Hey again. All right. So, Miss Morris is apologize that she cannot be here tonight, but I'm

going to just hit on a couple of high points from um the EAF grant which was in my board report. So, RFISD was awarded $120,000 this year um specifically for the um advising grant and this is focusing on grades 5 through 12. Um it supports senior advising, transcript work, course alignment, career exploration. Um Fulton has some really exciting new spaces for that career exploration. Um and so we just are required to make sure the board knows that work is continuing this year. Miss Morris will continue to apply for the grant so that we can continue staying ab breast of those best practices and laws statewide. Um, the service center supports this work with us. Any questions about that? All right. >> All right. If there's no questions, we're going to move to our business office

report. Miss Kathy Henderson. >> Yes. Um, just to update you on the tax report. Um we are down 6% of tax collection on the current. Um it it fluctuates up and down. Still was budgeting at 97% and over the past years we've been at 98 plus. So I still feel fairly confident we'll hit the 97%. Um the other thing is on the um investment report as I tal last month rates are kind of fluctuating but I am starting to get some long terms which I purchased two different long terms um in April. One was at 3.9% one was at 4%. Our highest pool right now is 3.9 3.8 and they're go lower from that. So, I just I feel good start doing a little bit of long-term investing, watching the rates. Any questions? >> Will

you get another projected uh for the tax? >> I'm sorry. Can you hear? >> Will you get another projection before July? You'll get another projection for the tax collection. >> I get those monthly. >> Okay. This this comes this is a month we'll get one more in June. >> We get this every month. This is the current year tax collections. >> But that was May. >> This was April. This is the end of >> May and then >> we go all the way through. You'll get one you every month. I update this. Next month you'll see what we what they earned in May. So it's it's a monthly report. Are you talking about the certified values for budget? Yeah, that's what I'm thinking about because 6 doesn't sound like a lot, but it is a

lot, right? Because every dollar counts to try to balance a budget. However, what I'm saying is what's sitting in litigation that may be able to, you know, like I'm not on that board anymore to know if there's something that's about to sum up or seal up to where that would help get us because again, at the end of next year, we always go over a 100% collection, right? Because >> with with the current year and the prior year. Yes. Any other questions for Kathy? If not, we're moving to Molly Adams, our human resources report. Well, I wanted to show you um we are it's the busy season. It's hiring season. Um our administrators and our directors are working non-stop making sure that we have the right people in the right seat. They're doing a fabulous

job. Um what I do want to concentrate on is parent square. Um, parent square. Well, in all of our surveys, we hear communication, communication. We need to work on communication. Um, so that is definitely a focus. Um, as a parent, there's Skyward, there's Sportsu, there's Class Dojo, there's Remind, there's Group Me, there's all of these things. Um, and it can be overwhelming at times. So this is a one-stop shop that we will be utilizing. Um it is an app. It is web- based. It is called parent square. Um this is what we will be communicating to our parents. Uh it will replace remind replace group me dojo sports youu so forth. This is it is a beautiful platform. It is going to be like we're going to have to work through kinks. We are doing

a soft launch right now. We have met with the campuses uh with athletics um and we have some trial and error teachers and administrators doing some um uh um training groups um and so we are just playing with the platform. So in July, July 1st, we majorly push parent square is the communication tool that we use in this district. Um this is what we will talk heavy on registration for next school year. Um but right now right soft launch working through the kinks. So in July we are ready to roll to parents and in August we have time prepped with our staff of how we roll out how we can communicate um you know you can communicate with your first period class you can communicate with all seven of your classes. You can do direct

messaging back and forth with parents. Um everything is tracked. We can see everything. Same thing for students. It's going to be amazing. Um and we are excited. I'm excited as a parent. >> Is he gonna replace rank one, too, for all these physicals and new sports things? >> I don't think so. I would say that I don't think Parent Square can do what rank one can do, unfortunately. So, athletic department update. Coach Sosa. >> Yeah. Uh, so we've already kind of hit on the state qualifiers, but I wanted to make sure to to hit on them again because they need our voice or our our thoughts and our prayers for tomorrow, especially uh, luckily they had a great um, safe trip up and then we pray for a safe trip back for both the athletes

and the coaches. Uh, the next thing that we have is some national awards. Uh, some national awards. So, Coach Swinfur is our strength and conditioning coach. uh he is he applies for a lot of these awards and um and we had two all-Americans uh national it's the national high school strength and conditioning association. Uh Caleb Wilshshire was voted a uh an all-American for the boys and then Addison Burton was voted for the girls. So uh those are national awards. We we do academic all state. Why not do national awards as well? So um that is awesome. Uh and then with that we are also a program of excellence. So what we do both at the high school and at the middle school level with our strength conditioning um uh the the the the curriculum that

we do. Uh we were voted as one of the nation's top in the program of excellence. So we're going to get a big old banner that we're going to be able to um to recognize. And then we had a male athlete of the year in Trey Alvarado. Again, a multi-sport athlete u football uh powerlifting and in track and then so he was voted as the uh the Kevin year uh Vanner Bush male athlete of the year. Uh last week we had a signing day six of our um our students here at Rockport Fulton High School. uh I say students because five of them were athletes, one of them was was an emerald uh signed their letter of intent to participate at the next level. So uh it was a great event. Uh very very excited

for them. Uh for some upcoming events, we keep talking about tomorrow, May 14th, with the state track meet. Uh along with that, we do have physicals that will go on in the middle school. um middle school starting at 2:00 all the way through 5:30 or whenever the last person is uh gone through the line. Um there's been we we've we've told the kids for the past few weeks now if you are an incoming 7th 9th and 11th so that the odd number of years if you're going into those grades you must get a full physical. Uh they will cost $30. You don't have to do a an appointment or anything. you show up to the middle school and you get uh your full physical there. If you are a eighth, 10th, and a 12th grader,

if you were under a care of a doctor, so you couldn't participate for whatever reason, you must get a full physical as well. If you are an eth, 10th, [music] and 12th and you didn't go to the doctor at all. You were able to play all year long. No, no, no restrictions whatsoever, you still do need to fill out the first page and upload it to the infamous rank one. Uh unfortunately, we can't do anything with rank one. That is uh the system that we have, but they have been uh getting a little bit better. So, that will all go tomorrow uh May 14th. If you don't do it then, then then it is on the kids' responsibility to be able to set up an appointment. Those appointments can be three, four, five weeks in

advance. Um, unfortunately, this the later you wait, uh, there's a mad dash come July, late July, because you must have a physical on file in order to participate in the fall sports. Um, this weekend we do have uh some all-star games. Uh, at Miller High School starting at 10:00 a.m. we have Megan Leftwitch. She will be participating in the volleyball all-star game, the Coastal Bin Coach Association All-Star game. At 2:00, uh, boys basketball, we have Caleb Wilshshire and Gary Horton. They will be at the the Miller High School gym in there. And then at 7 o'clock at Buck Stadium, uh, Caleb will strap on his football cleat. Uh he will also be playing in the football game along with Wyatt Caulifer and Trey Alvarado. So if y'all don't have anything to do on uh Saturday,

then go to go to Corpus, go see some volleyball, basketball, and some football games. I know they will uh they will really do uh enjoy the support. And then last but not least, on May 26th, uh for the past couple of years, we've had some recognition at the Coastal Bin Sports Hall of Fame. Um and this year we have two recipients, two top finalists. They haven't won it yet, but uh Logan Wood, she is a uh a finalist for the girls uh track. And then Trey Alvarado is a finalist, a top three finalist for boys powerlifting. So um we'll be uh be fancing it up. They'll get dressed up and uh and and hopefully we can bring home some awards. Any questions? >> All right. If we don't have any questions, I'm about to move

to Sean Fletcher and Mike Noatney's department, but I do want to tell them thank you because on Friday they're going to be setting up for Principles in the Park and helping us. So, if you didn't know, we had to reschedule because it rained. Yay. Principles in the Park 5:00 on Friday, we'll be spending the day putting out tables. It is going to be a really fun community event that we had a huge crowd last year. I'm really expecting another huge crowd. We're at It's Principles in the Park, but at the beach style because we're Rockport Fulton. So, don't forget that. Thank you, Mike and his Sean, your crew who always helps. Now, you get to do the report. >> Okie do. >> Mike finding you tea and lunch and all that, right? >> Yeah. [laughter]

He doesn't know yet, but he is. All right. So, the picture on the left is James Ramla delivering wax. Um, looks to be live oak. Um we delivered wax to all the campuses. That's just a very small part of what we do u during the summer. Um a couple of weeks ago we walked with the principles and get their list of wants and needs um and then Mike and I prioritize those and go after it with our very limited crew. Um uh to the right we uh rented a uh lift. so we could trim the palm trees up. Um, we also replaced some lights over on the north side of the auditorium. And this is our budget. We started with $670,500. We've encumbered 594 uh spended $46,360 this month and we have $161,46 uh left

this year. So that concludes my report. >> Any questions for Sean? [laughter] >> [laughter] >> All right, if we don't have any more questions for anyone, we are finishing the superintendent reports. >> All right, that moves us to agenda item number 13 with our consent ag consent agenda. Superintendent may consolidate items on the agenda summary for possible group action or trustee may suggest group action on any items to expedite the meeting board. Are there any questions or anything? I think that's just one minute of the April 14th minute. April 14th meeting. I make a motion we accept the consent agenda. >> All right, we had a motion by Mr. Randall, seconded by Mrs. Jarnell. Any further discussion? If not, we'll take a vote. All in favor? >> Any opposed? Motion carries 70. That brings us

to item 14. So at this time the board will recess an executive session pursuant to the Texas government code section 551071 551072 551074 and 551076. The time is 7:24
