Howdy. Although

the counselors couldn't be here tonight, one was not feeling well and they just had other engagements, I still wanted to give a quick shout out to the RFMS counseling team for achieving the crest award for 2425 and they've achieved this award for several years in a row. I know uh the other counselors have already started talking and collaborating with them to see about getting it for the other campuses for this current school year. So, we're excited for the future of the counseling department. Just a little bit of background, the Crest Award stands for counselors reinforcing excellence for students in Texas. So, this award is goes to counseling departments um and recognizes them for counseling programs that demonstrate excellence in their implementation and align to the Texas model. It's um given by the Texas School Counselor

Association and it just kind of really highlights their strong commitment to students academics, career readiness and their social emotional development. So with that being said, we just want to congratulate our middle school counselors for earning this crest award again for again many years in a row and then just thanking them. this dedication reflects um it reflects their dedication and collaborative work with students and families and we really appreciate their outstanding work that they do for students. That's it. Thank you. All right. So, at this time, where will our campus UIL sponsors come on up? We are going to celebrate our elementary academic UIL recognition for our students who are here. 006oak, Miss Jenkins? Okay, I'll let you go. I love your red today, not pink. Don't get too excited. So, Miss Cat John, congratulations on an amazing job. Where are you? I know you're here. Disappointment. I thought I saw her. So, I did the second grade chess. never touched a chessboard in my life, but I wanted them to be able to participate, so I volunteered and I'm very proud of them. Um, we have Gus, actually, it's Augustus. I know I'm not saying your last name correctly, Arietta. He walked away

with first place. Here, baby. Hold on. Fist. And then we also as a team won second place. So, I'm going to give you your uh second place medal and then your first place medal. Good job. And then I have Nathan or Vance Swanner. He uh earns fourth place. Oh, Vance, I forgot your metal. Vance, I forgot your metal, baby. And then I have Blaine Nunley that was also part of the team. Is he here tonight? Yeah. live oak teachers, don't go too far. You might as well go stand down there because you're going to get in the picture. All right, we're our Fulton Elementary. Head on up and we're gonna let you go first. And if you need me to hold anything, Um, I coached Arts Smart and I had a fourth grader win first

place. Vincent Lule, will you come up here for me? And then because he put placed first place, he also got us second place overall against all of the other districts that competed with us. >> All by himself. Okay. Okay. I I coach chess puzzle. Um, my chess puzzle team taught me more about chess than I probably taught them, but we did great. Um, so my third grade team, I had one individually place. Um, Emma Huerta, if she's here, she got fifth place. And then my third grade team got third place. So that was Mila, Evelyn, I see you. come up here and then Emma so they'll get third place medals. They don't get a search. And then for my fourth grade team, I had one individual place with Tatum Sza got third place. And then

the fourth grade team also plays second overall. Let me give you and the other members of the fourth grade team was Payton Dunn. So, she'll get a second place medal and Scarlett McKenzie if she's here. But I don't Um, and I don't I had fifth grade team Dominic Evil. He got sixth place, but I don't think he's here. Thank you. Thank you. Hi, I'm Miss Mendoza. I coached oral reading and music memory. I had nine contestants go and I had eight place. So, I'm very proud of them. Let's start with music memory. For third grade, I had one of my very own students, Riley Stridle, place third place. I finally said her name right. Mom just and then here's your certificate. And then one of my other very own students, Elise Shepard, but I don't

think she's here today, but she placed sits place. And then my third rate team overall placed third place among the other districts. Riley, you want to come get your other medal, babe? Now, for my fourth grade team for music memory, I had three boys that went and competed and I had all of them place. I'm very proud of them. The first one was Granger Simpson, fifth place. And I don't see And I don't I don't see the other student, Dylan Murphy. He placed fourth place for fourth grade. Then this next student, I actually had the privilege of teaching him last year. He placed first over all the other fourth graders, Flynn Engelman. And so fourth grade overall, where are Flynn? Fourth grade overall, they place first place out of all other districts. Good job. You're

welcome. And then for oral reading, I had four students place. Three, sorry, three. Uh, Satie Padier, fourth grade. She got fifth place. I don't see her here. I'll do this her tomorrow. And then for third place for fourth grade, I end up having Gringanger Simpson. You get another medal, babe. And then another fourth grade, I had Miss Grayson Truats place second place for oral reading. And then I had one fifth grader. I don't believe she's here tonight, but Miss Ryland Wolfful, is that how you say her name? Teacher here. >> Oh, she is here. Oh, I didn't see you. I'm sorry, honey. She plays fifth place out of all the fifth graders. All right. Thank you. I know. I'm like, all right. So, I'm Miss Oliver and I coached number six, which is a pretty

challenging uh event. It's 80 questions and they have to do it all mentally. They can't work out anything. Um, and they have 10 minutes. And I'm really proud of these guys. Guys, I'm going to start with my fourth grade team. And so, we actually had a third grader who was able to compete in the fourth grade team and he also got first place and that is Ben Mcler. And then third place in our or on our fourth grade team was Satie Padir. And I don't think I see her. And then overall our fourth grade team got second in the district. And then for our fifth grade team, I had a student get first place and that is Mr. Andrew Aguilar. All right. And then we had another student place third and that's Brooks E and

I don't think he's here as well. And then overall our fifth grade number sense team got first in the district. Good evening. I'm Laura Grossclo. I had the privilege of coaching the UIL ready writing team, which is an individual event. Um, Drew was not able to be with us tonight, but she scored fourth place um for ready writing in third grade. Drew, she Oh, she came. Oh, sorry. Come, come on down. So sorry. They texted coming. Sorry, Drew. I'm so sorry. >> Heard you had a sick. >> Congratulations. >> Thanks. >> Earning second place in third grade ready writing is Evelyn Buckley. in fourth grade. Earning third place was Tatum Sa Um, our last one I would talk like to talk about is our fifth grader. And I was I had the privilege of being

her teacher last year and she won first place for fourth grade last year. And she also won first place this year with a perfect score. That's Sadi Werta. Hi, I'm Miss Aguilar. I coach UIL spelling for third, fourth, and fifth grade. Um, this year I have uh Jenna Schulard placed fourth place for fourth grade spelling. I don't think she's here. Sadie Martinez, fifth place, fourth grade spelling. This is her second year participating and placing in UIL spelling. Yes. And then in sixth place, Kase Patel, fourth grade spelling. And then overall fourth grade spelling team, second place in district. Um, for fifth grade, I had third place, Sadie Werta. Fifth grade spelling. This is Sadi's third year. She placed third grade, fourth grade, and fifth grade spelling. And then fifth grade spelling team. This is the

team. Second place overall in district. Good job. This is the team. Good evening. Um my name is Angela McConnell and I was the coach for storytelling. It was an individual um an individual activity. Um and so our second place is Riley Stridle. Riley. My mic's working. I just want to say thank you to all of our parents for bringing them tonight. Merry Christmas. It is very much someone and I just and 10 years from the moment they left high school back and went straight to work for us and he has been his last he has been at all of our board technology. retiring Mr. Chris that is all Howdy. So for the Rockport Fton High School updates, the uh progress for the billing is 88% complete. The money authorized is at 34.67 million and the

substantial completion is still scheduled for March of 2026. That was the updated substantial completion date uh is March 2026. Um last month uh go through our last month and I'll give a little update on where the slide on the schedule was. Um we continued installation or installation of all the flooring uh through all the classrooms completed all that. We actually if you go through there now you can see we've already started punch list on the flooring. So there's some tiles that were need to be replaced that are getting replaced. Um furniture all all got into the classrooms and the admin area looks great in there. Um installation of the locker rooms that was uh it's actually heated now or the lockers in the locker room, excuse me. Um there's a little punch list stuff in

there, but that's all those look good. Uh the finishes uh in the athletic wing, uh you've got flooring, athletic flooring going down and multi-purpose. Uh got a bunch of ceilings going on. Uh finished paint um all through athletic and again we're addressing punch list items. Uh we also had a unfortunate failed elevator inspection and so that was the slide in the schedule uh from February to March 26. Um this month continuing all the all the finishes in the athletic wing. um trying to get ceilings in and get uh ceilings painted and finished up. Um HBAC is started up in there. Um we are going to be getting uh installation of landscape. Uh you'll start to see some demolition starting uh next month. Um all the final grading and a lot of the paving uh concrete

will show up. Those guys will get going and finish start laying concrete around the building. Um including softball field. That's a big push. Um trying to get all that wrapped up. Uh the punch list. Um you and Clayum have been in the building creating punch list uh through all the classrooms and admin area. I'll just continue to developing that punch list and addressing items as we go. We do have um our elevator inspection scheduled for tomorrow and uh Thursday. And so correct, it's you got to the elevator company does comes back and does their what they call adjusting the elevator. They basically make sure that they're ready for state inspection. Uh and so the state inspector can show up on Thursday and do his inspections. With that, following Monday, we should be calling for, we

actually called for, we have scheduled all of our final TCO inspections for areas A, A1, and B. So, all your classroom and academic means, your fine arts area, classrooms at So, hoping to have a TCO and kids back in that space. after the break. >> Okay. And here you can see the uh furniture that has been moved into the classrooms and the offices. At the moment, we have a punch list going for all the standardized classrooms and the other areas like the admin and the corridors and some of the specialty classrooms like the podcast. Those will be soon to follow. You can in the entryway, the new flooring and the finishes that have been added. Uh in the podcast studio, the furniture has also been moved in and some additional equipment. And for the uh

athletic area, the prep for flooring and then the additional finishes will be soon to follow. And um yeah, are there any other questions? That's the full project. That's correct. >> Monday the 22nd. >> What? So over at the softball we're We're getting concrete started over there uh this week and as soon as that's done and Mike's got working on getting a meter to finalize power in the softball concession and then there's just a couple little items in the softball concession building to wrap up once we get electricity. There's about two weeks worth of work inside the inside the concession building once. Christmas >> job sites open 247 at this point in time. >> That's if people want to work Christmas, there'll be somebody over there watching work. That's correct. Job sites open. Typically what we're

hearing is that that there's a we will have people on the 24th about a half day on the 24th. Uh people you know you get some people are off on New Year's Day some people are not. So >> I don't know. as much of it as can be. Yes. To say that there'll be a completed punch list. That's >> correct. That's that's what we already going back over four that's already been installed and replacing just because now's the time to do it. There's no kids there. Let's get it done. It's is it's towards the end of March. I don't It's towards the end of March. >> That's correct. Um, it'll it will not be open come the 7th of January, but it'll be shortly there after this. We're pushing that really hard to get all

that stuff in out of there and all that. We want the landscaping done or at least close to being done before we open that fully up just so we don't have equipment and traffic and vehicles. >> Um, we're shooting for the middle of January. What are we doing? ETA on the seven that We've all been very collaborative. The They all >> right. Thank you. Wow. It's hard to believe that there's just a few days left in the semester. Like, this is just crazy to me. So, anyway, um I'll go ahead and get started and show you what we've been up to for the last few months. So, we started our year in August with this kind of motto, United We Row, one crew, one course. And so, it's on our lanyards. It's it's around the

campus, and we also see it in our actions. And I don't know if you've ever um had an opportunity to see like Olympic rowing or professional rowers, but the crew team succeeds not just because of one person. It is because every single rower commits to that rhythm, to the same direction, to the same goal. um it's not just strength, it's unity, it's trust, it's that shared purpose. And so for us, our goal is student success. And so every single day, that's what we are shooting for is for our kids to be successful. Um we also kind of took it a step further and um some of the things that we're really uh aligning with as our commitment to the purpose for every single student to be successful being resilient with challenges not just with construction

but with things that happen within the campus. Um empowered to lead and grow and then also just a willingness to step up. And so I think as we go through this you're going to see some of those uh traits throughout our presentation. So, um, with the strategic plan for the district, we are aligned to that, um, with these four priorities that we've talked about with every other campus that's been up here and then just a few of our yearly campus progress measuring measures that we're using to check where we are and where we need to be. Um starting with student success priority one, we did implement um a sale time, a flexible uh learning time within the day for 30 minutes um where students get to pick where they need to go um managing that

weekly schedule based on their own individual needs. Um we were fortunate to have our salt uh assist with a roll out of our pirate path. They rolled it out to our staff in August and then they continue to do weekly presentations um to our students every Monday. And so, uh that has been successful because of their work. We've also I kind of tried to highlight I know y'all have this in front of you. I'm not going to read every one. There's a lot of bulleted things, but these all align going back to those same um uh progress measures that we're uh working on as a campus. We've had a college fair. We've had um outside organizations come in to discuss internships with our students. Uh we did a club showcase trying to get our kids

uh active and participating in clubs and organizations. We're part of a TEA Teach Texas grant and they've come to visit and given us some feedback on our program. We've had multiple CCMR field trips, FAFSA days, our fine art success, our athletic success. Our pep rallies have tried to get more people involved. We participated in welding. Um, we did administer the first nursing science IBC already had a 100% pass rate. So, that was exciting. Uh, big shout out to Miss Lad and her team for all the work they do. Uh, we've had workforce solutions come in, panel presentations. Um, one of the partnerships that we're excited about as a campus because this is definitely an academic need for us. Our kids are not performing. Our special ed kids are not performing in where we want them

to be. And so, um, Miss Madrono, uh, had kind of reached out to me to see if we wanted to partner with the service center on this. And we have highlighted three improvement goals for students with disabilities related to their EOCC performance in English. Um, reducing the office referrals and also lowering that dropout rate. And those are all things that we really need to focus on. Um, the professional development that is tied to those things are things that um, our our team selected. So, the teachers were like, these are the things we need. Um we kick it off on January 7th which is the first day back but we have a group of teachers that are going to be participating in the design to support series um that will kick off that and hopefully empower

our teachers to provide more uh support for those students. Um other staff engagement developing priority two we're doing mentor you uh we had our PD in October uh closing the gaps deep dive we all know we dropped in closing the gaps that is a focus for us and so we're trying to uh improve those scores uh we also have incorporated team building uh hosted lunch and learns for teachers are not mandatory but they can come sign up we feed them lunch and they have a PD session um our instructional rounds have been a big hit every single one of our teachers have participated in those. Um and then also some more uh literacy framework for sustained ed. We rolled out our protocols uh on data and lesson plan and then we as a campus created

a campus summitive data protocol to align with those because that was just a gap for our teachers. And so um we uh are enjoying seeing those actively being completed during our PLC time. And beyond that, we've had an extreme amount of parent and community partnerships um across the campus. Our kids and our teachers are going out into the community um to support different efforts um culinary Spanish club, graphic design. If you went to see fair, you saw the signs there. Those were courtesy of our graphic design students. Uh we also had an advisory board meeting. Um gave away backpacks. We're partnering with&m galveistston to strengthen our maritime program. Uh and then also that port of Corpus Christie and Lagon and Crane coming to our campus. Um hopefully you had a chance to come to the

holiday market. If you didn't, you really missed out. Uh there were some great products that were made by our uh students. Um we try to push out newsletters to our parents. I do one every three weeks and our CTE does one every uh four weeks. Uh we participated in uh Dr. Austin's pirate parent night and we had a few parents come to that. Uh lots of different activities going on. Uh one of the ones I was most proud of is our Veterans Day assembly. Um that was a partnership between StuCo RTC and choir. So I love to see our different clubs and organizations come together and work together to put forth an event. We had about 23 veterans that showed up to that and it was nice to be able to honor them. our ROC.

I know they come here and they do a lot of service, but those men and women are out there doing so many things. Um, that is a very short list. They actually have about three columns full of of different tasks and and uh events that they have supported and participate in. I don't think they ever say no. Uh, and you can see that I think last year they ended up with just under 5,000 hours of community service. I'm curious to see where they will end up this year. Our art club painted a mural. if you haven't seen it. Um they did a great job with that. Uh and then we also still partner with the Rotary Club. Blood drives, if you want to donate blood, we just had one uh yesterday. There's still a few

more left for this year. We have, I think, about three more left. Um the Women's Lions Club, we served about a hundred guests feeding them. Culinary is cooking for everybody every chance they get. our last priority uh priority four with finance and operations. Uh we continue to focus on safety doing our drills uh campus walks regularly. Um but we also just for efficiency and for finance and operations. We have enhanced our campus navigation guide system. We put in some more guidance for staff on purchasing on safety and on campus security. Um and then continue to work with our department leads to update our inventories so we are financially responsible with what we are trying to buy and what we need to purchase. Um any questions about any of those items? I know there's a lot

of things. >> Thank you. Right. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. principles over here. This will conclude our school presentation. We'll start over again. And what I asked them to do last year was to make sure they brought you guys one of them. So excited to see that work. >> Great job. >> Yeah. >> Yes, sir. >> Sure. >> So, what it looks like is we uh we have a program called Smart Pass. And so it allows uh teachers to go in and schedule activities is what they're called. Um whether that be like a tutoring session where they can go in and select certain students who maybe are not being successful in their class that they that they're going to require to come into that extra tutoring or they can have an open time where students can just

select to go in wherever they would like to go. So maybe they're struggling on a math assignment and they want to get more support. They can go log in on Monday and they look to see or they do it on Fridays. they look to see where they're going to go for the rest of the week and um and they can select to go to whatever activity they want to go to. Um we also have like band and choir like if some they're uh rehearsing to get ready for performance then they may and they're doing fine academically they can choose to go to that elective teacher. So, every single teacher on the campus has a a sale group at a time uh Tuesday through Friday that is open to whatever they decide to offer. On Monday

is when our salt students roll out the same lesson to the whole class, to the whole campus. Yeah, sure. So, this is the most important part of what I have to say is Miss uh Bailey Wedell, and I do appreciate her sticking around. through this. She's probably like, "It's about right by bedtime." Um, she was not feeling well either yesterday. So, I'm so glad that she is here. But she is the staff that we have chosen to spotlight. And I don't know how many of you know her, but um it is really just an honor. So, uh the administrative team, we sit down and we were like, who should we pick? Because we have some great staff. Um and it's really hard to just pick one, but she's the one that we picked for this

first one. And I just wanted to kind of tell you a little bit about her. She really does step up and I think she embodies what it means to be on our crew, right? She's willing um with our new uh program that we were talking about, Smart Pass. At the beginning of the year, teachers were struggling. It was a new technology. She offers to put together a guide to make it easier for staff. We didn't ask her to do that. She just did it, right? We were short on a junior class sponsor who steps up, Miss Wedell. Right? I mean, there's a lot of things there. And I think on top of that, she's also a very reflective practitioner. So she is reflective of the work. She is responsive to feedback and always looking for

ways to see how she can grow as an educator. And I think that just models it for her colleagues, but also for her students. Um, so it is my honor to welcome Miss Bailey Wedell and acknowledge her for today. You're the sweetest. I appreciate you. Good thing. Catch it. Goodness, Mike. I need this lip just a little bit higher. Today I walked onto the Fulton campus in this boring green sweater and I left with this festive Christmas hat. I'm not turning on the blinky lights because I just think that would distract. All right. So, let's go ahead and begin. I want to tell you this is one of those presentations where I hope all of this sounds like something you've already heard because this is just a formality. So, we're required to conduct um this

particular presentation to reflect our targeted improvement plan for Fulton and Live Oak. Um this is connected to those consecutive D's that we received at Fulton Live Oak is connected because they are the feeder campus that leads to that. So their accountability is always linked in the system. Um so we had to develop a targeted improvement plan that would supplement the campus improvement plan which you've already seen and approved. Um we do this because of that federal designation after those three consecutive D's at Fulton. it has to be approved by the school board and then we will implement implement that for this year and next year. So we worked with the effective schools framework which we've been talking to you about. They conducted a diagnostic with the service center and then we used that information paired

with some of the um feedback we got from our families and our stakeholders to um inform the plan. Now what I we and then those are those two dates that we had. We Fulton conducted theirs on the 5th of November and Live Oak on the 6th. So these highlights should all sound very familiar. We had to choose a school improvement strategy which was an intense curriculum and instructional improvements. This should all um this should align very closely with what you've been hearing about our work that started in the in actually last school year as we started working with some specific strategies that were linked to um the design of our literacy framework. Um the diagnostic through the um effective schools framework focus support grant that we're actually we went into that stage with our service

center this school year. We worked with E3 Alliance on the math framework. And so we've been bringing them back to continue to enhance those strategies, working on a new problem solving model and some teaks and star alignment. And then those focus systems that we've been discussing throughout really last school year, this summer, and into the fall. We have applied for several grants that we're waiting to hear back on um that will help continue to support this work. I want to literally >> Yes. And so then this slide just highlights those four areas, the internalization work, the strong the observation feedback coaching, um the teacher support and those data routines. So those are all systems that we've been working through that should sound very familiar to you. So when we res when we presented this plan

to our um to our support person at TEA, um quite frankly, they didn't really have a lot of feedback for us. They were impressed with the work we were doing. They didn't have really anything to add. So, it was a positive conversation where we just got to reflect on what we were processing and how the plan we had put into place. This is going to require um this will require some board action later in the meeting. So, do you have any questions? I do have Miss Poland or Miss Cox um just kind of on this item in case we needed to direct any questions to them, but I'm happy to answer anything you have. >> All right. Thank you. All right. So, we are um just we're adding in a course for the second semester

and all we're really doing is swapping out a course align alignment. It's going to to supplement some work that we're doing through our welding program of study and it's just something the industry is more um in need of and it's more of a safety course. So, it is an innovative course and so you've seen these before. It just requires board approval because it is that in that innovative category. We're not adding any teaching um units for this. It's we're not adding a section. We're really just shifting a little bit in that program of study to make sure it's more aligned with the industry need. So all it's doing um so they would we would start with our first group in this second semester and all it is is really just a shift in the a

slight shift in their um the naming on their in their on their schedule. Um and it is more aligned with the dual credit course that they're taking in the pathway. So it's just the freshman that freshman class it's an yeah it's it's a new cohort of students it's teaks based yes and so um this falls in that when we talk about innovative courses those are those courses that don't have a full course design at this stage but um the agency builds out a course that is um really something had been presented usually by districts that even work together to help coordinate on these innovative classes and so um they're just not officially adopted through that state board of education route. So that's why we have to come to the board for approval. So it aligns

to a set of standards and then um we will you know we just make sure that we approve those as needed. It is PEK. It's aligned with PEK. >> Y. >> So this this course is specific. Yes. with the PEK grant which is very specific to welding. It's not something that we would necessarily have students in other pathways take. It really is designed to be linked with that welding program of study. Is there anything you want to add or that I might be missing on that? starting this year with >> right starting this year. So, in our in our program guide on page 19, like if you just want to make note of that, there's a a chart and we have incorporated that in there in the hopes that you would approve this. So, it

it is listed there. If not, we'll just delete it. But, but we have a nice visual chart for you and so it shows it right there where it is. But for our kids who are in there now as a freshman, obviously they're going to miss that, but it's not going to inhibit them from moving forward. It's just we have figured out that that's just something we need to add in to enhance that uh freshman class. We we would keep doing what we're doing and just focus on safety in another way. Am I supposed to Yes, with the slided hat on, by the way. Uh, so last month was the first read. Remember, this is a lot of the updates from the 89th. Um, and so if you have any questions, I will be uh happy

to try to answer them or find the right team member to help answer the correct board policy. No. Everything Let's all be real. We did every single department who did it. We actually did that when session was final and this is I'll take your own All right. All in favor. Okay. So, this is similar to what we did. Well, it's not so similar exactly what we did on the early package of the high school whenever we had to demo the other two wings which we called the west wing at that time. So, this is outside the GMP. This is something the district was taking on. uh we are the one contracting the company to come out. So this includes uh proposals from two different companies. One to actually do the physical demolition and abatement of

the asbestous and the other one is for the air monitoring which is required during abatement and this is for the northwest wing. So right now that's currently where choir and the math wing are. That's the area that this affects. >> Yes. part of the project. So that the actual demolition outside of speestous is included in the GMP. The only thing that wasn't the GMP was the actual abatement of asbestous. So the quote for the actual abatement is 72,750 and the error monitoring is 15,025. So I put a little bit of buffer in there because if you look there's a line item in case they need some other stuff. There's another 6,700 possible to come from the actual abatement. And then there's also per chalkboard depending on how many are hot be. Oh no. >> If

if if all that that's including if the ads that 67 6,750. It'd be 94,525. So there's still I put it not to exceed 100,000. So there's still enough room in there in case there's something else they come across. >> No, we were under. >> Yeah. Correct. So, they sent me an email at the end of the day yesterday saying that they made an error in tracking. We gave them the number of days that we needed and they did not calculate the hours correctly. So, they do an hourly rate and so they had to go back and correct that. That's what it jumped up to the 15,000. So, that's why I just changed this. I had to update that, change that. But, you're correct. It was 6,000 before. And we were surprised. I was like, well,

that came in low. And then we just were notified this week that it was it it had changed. Correct. >> I mean, we could I don't I don't foresee us having any and that I also included also the ad. It says power and water if needed. That was the 6,750 ad which we should not need. So that's I but I went ahead and included that. That brought us to the 94,525. I mean we we could do 110. I mean that just to be safe. We did originally when we were uh doing our spreadsheet budgeting we budgeted 110,000. We did. Okay. >> Correct. Yeah. Sure. Thank you. Seven. So, we did this to the high school where we upgraded our analog system into the new IP system. So, that's doing the exact same thing the middle

school. The middle school's system is was put in back in 1999. Has not been upgraded since. So this would bring that up to the same system we have the high school and they can actually intercommunicate and eventually when we start upgrading we can upgrade all campuses and our entire district will be able to cross communicate uh with this new system. So that's what this will do and uh it basically pretty much replaces the what they call the head end where everything comes together and upgrades it to the new system on uh that can be controlled over IP. >> Correct. Yeah, this will be Yeah. on us. >> Yes. Yes. So is either in August or September the board declared uh the property we owned at 1720 Colorado which is right across from the middle school

as as surplus. Uh we went out for bids on that. We had four bids sent out. We received two bids back. Um, one of the bids did not have all the requirements in and the highest bid we received was $28,24.7. Um, so I'm bringing this to the board. The value that the appraisal district has, the 2025 value that the appraisal district has on the VA on the property is $48,90. the right >> currently. Yes, it is. It's fenced in, but it is very heavily wooded. Yes, ma'am. It's up up to the board, but it's I mean that I do not know. Um I'm just going off the values. We did not get it appraised. I'm just going off the values that was on the excuse me on the appraisal districts um with what with their

with their value into that. So, we only like the highest bid was $28,24.7. >> Yes. Op option one is if you approve the purchase price. Option two um is is not approving it. Basically >> I make a motion to reject all motion. So now that other options for now. Kathy and I talked about it. discussion >> there are. Yes, sir. At first, um when we we talked about it, when we talked about it, we we were told that we had to say yes or no, but then we've looked into it further. Uh we've had others looked into it further for us. We could do the option of saying we're looking for um the best alternative, >> right? No, because you you're giving Dr. Austin the authority to write the letter. So the letter will Yeah.

This is So last February and the Dallas creatity and also adding a part that require that it's actually a more robust evalation. community relations and support and I think it's very hard not I'm going to go ahead and It was the word. >> I will say that we come back. portfol. So it's a mix already What's the first I just provided a quick middle ofear data timeline so you can see the process that we're working through at this time of year. Um we did some work at the district level. Dr. um Austin and I met with the principles and we discussed STAR interim analysis. Um we've discussed those data pieces in our December check-ins with principles around we're starting the conversation around MAP. We still actually have a couple of days left of testing. So

we haven't closed out our our um data for this month yet. And then at the campus level, they are already building out very robust January PD. Some of them have already been doing that data analysis this month in their PLC's. I got to sit in um a couple of data analysis PLC's today at Live Oak. It was it's always exciting when you get to celebrate strong data with a team. So we got to even have some tears of joy which are exciting. Um, and then we have some action data reviews that will carry us into January. The school board will get an update on those scores in January as all of those systems close out and we'll first report in the January academic excellence data review. Um, and then there will just be some highlights

that we'll mention in a board meeting. Any questions? does. All right. >> Do you have the business office report in front of you? I do want to make note on, excuse me, on page two of the report, the general fund, the 2425. It still says un audited because y'all have not approved it. But these numbers are the the draft that uh Mr. Hernandez has sent to me. So we ended up with a 3.8 deficit versus the 5.7 that was adopted. So that's much much better news. Um we will be usually y'all approve the board the audit in December. There were some changes made to tea and through the OM. Um but I talked to him today and he will be ready to present that to y'all in January at the January board meeting to approve

the audit. in the office of manage it management and budget. >> It's a >> they made some changes that we could not complete the audit until that was done because we would have to bring it back a second time to to fix to have you approve it a second time. So, he just opted to to wait until and it we thought it was going to be February, but he they've got it out now, so we'll be able to do it in January. Okay. >> Yes. The ticket sales question >> we >> no the the ticket sales we cover all our expenses and if there is funds left over and coach comes up with a price that he's renting the building and it covers officials and and all that. But when we um if there's money

left over then it goes to the two teams but we make sure all our expenses are covered first. So we we collect because we do it online now. We collect the funds. Um but in the same thing if our all of our expenses are not covered then we invoice the two the two teams and say okay now you owe us you owe us additional $300 or whatever it is. the the rental of the building actually goes into rent into the rental um the rental facility goes into rental not into athletics the revenue if if you look at page three there's the detailed there's a line item for every Yeah, we put the money. We put all the money in there first just because it's easier to put it and then we take it out and

put it to the different expense accounts. Um, I will have to look it up. I'm sorry I don't have that in front of me. Um, do you know who the vendor was? >> Is there an account or what page is it on? >> I'm sorry. Okay. >> It's for it's for if it's fun 498 then that's from the education foundation donation. Yeah, but I with that I'm sorry, but if like DA said it was fund 498, so then that is from the education foundation money. >> Yes. >> Okay. I'd have to I don't know who did the PO. I'd have to pull it and see, but we'll look into it. The the the big part of that is we we did not really start collecting sales I mean the property tax until December. Usually we

start collecting property tax in early or late October and November. We did not start really collecting the because the statements went out so late due to our Vader election. We did not start collecting the property taxes until December. Well, it goes back to the the first few months until we start collecting the property taxes, we are using fund balance revenue or cash to cover that until we we do it and it all will balance out at the end. But we that's one reason we say we need to keep some fun balance is because until we start collecting the property values, we don't get revenue. So your revenue is not equal out What's amazing? And again, that has to go with we're having to use fund balance until we start getting the revenue in for our

property taxes. So you're just looking a lot concerned that we collectively add saying we're still spending more than what we did with all three months compared to last week. So then September was the one where I think was a spin that we had not balanced out every single thing that comes across every singlebody across the board. So those numbers while they might still be three months there's still more invest that number cannot be >> and and the other thing to keep in mind too is your your payroll went up this year versus last year because of the increase in teacher pay. I'm sorry I can't hear you. >> Well, even with the 27 because our salaries are still low because of the one but it's it's something that we have to continue to watch and

feel ago about I had one more question. So we had breakfast. >> So they go on Saturdays and they usually they're all day long. So that regional >> not for their not for the meals when they go on the Saturdays. No ma'am. Um so first and foremost um the gentleman at the top is Jacob Sanchez. We unfortunately lost him. Uh he was a phenomenal English high school teacher. Um, and recent, um, I think it was December 6th, uh, the students and staff held a candlelight vigil. Um, that happened right over here by the I don't know what wing that is, water burger field. Um, and it was beautiful. Staff got to share tons of memories. Students got to share share um, just it was a beautiful night to honor a wonderful person and a teacher.

and I just wanted to recognize um him once again. Um the biggest thing that I wanted to just mention tonight, if you hover over that RF, I'm not sure if y'all can click on it. Um Gil worked on a tracker for us for attendance and enrollment. Um it is a beautiful spreadsheet um uh that gives the campuses and can give you um up to-date information looking at I don't know if Chris can click on it or not. Um but you can hover over a single day and see what the attendance is, see what the enrollment was. You can go back to see what it was on September the 9th. um you can just it is a wonderful way to track and to see and it's a great way for the campuses to see some competition

because it's colorcoded as well. Um and so uh congrats and a shout out to him for creating this document um for us. Um along with that we have been battling a ton of sickness um especially at our elementary campuses. uh we are uh and it's not just with students, it is with staff as well. Um and we also know staff are parents and so they might be at home uh you know I missed last Friday because of a child that was homesick. Um and so lots of things going on but our teachers and our staff are doing everything possible to make sure that our students are continuing to receive a quality education when we are having to double up classes. um other people are walking into classrooms to teach for the day. Um and so

kudos to everybody for stepping up. Um I know that not only is it the fun season and we have lots of different activities, but it is the flu season right now and so lots of that going around, but we are continuing to monitor and work on that attendance and the enrollment. Go ahead. >> It is. It is. And as soon as I It's I mean it is like I'll put in today's um and you'll be able to see. So, >> and we are doing I don't know. that afternoon all the classroom It's 200. Don't have any questions from coach of the year. >> Takes a village, that's for sure. Uh like Dr. Carter said, um, it's like the rowing team. It's not just one person. It's collectively coaching staff, the kids, the administration, the school

board, the community. Uh, so very, um, very honored to be to be recognized by my peers, but also um encouraged by all the recognition that our boys got on u for all district selections uh for districts. So, uh, with sitting getting out last week, uh, to West Orange Stark, the the awards kind of went out and, uh, we were represented really well as a football team. So, uh, very happy for our kids. But I think more than just the um the the awards on the field, uh, our varsity football team, we have 43 kids on the roster. 33 of them were academic all district. And so, um, it just speaks volume because we're not only doing it on the field, but also in the classroom as well. Uh, and then of the 23 seniors that

we had, 11 of them were, uh, were earned Texas High School Coach Association Academic All State awards as well, which uh, last year was seven. This year was was 11. And just speech testaments of what that uh, senior class and their leadership uh, have done. So, um um that was kind of the football plug there. Um another you can see the uh participation numbers. They're all updated to all the winter sports. U we've got a lot of things going on right now. Obviously, soccer is out there on the field. Girls soccer uh is scrimmaging. Victoria West and um our boys are at at Ray. Uh just a lot of things going on. Middle school basketball was yesterday. uh just kind of it's Christmas break, but uh we still got kids competing and uh and and

really representing the green and gold the right way. Um speaking of representing green and gold the right way, I think possibly for the first time that I can actually say that the first time this happened in Rockport, Fulton ISD was that we had a wrestling match hosted by our school district. uh our boys and and girls called it the Brawl at the Bay. Uh we had um we had three or two schools uh plus Westoso, they they have a brand new uh uh uh wrestling team as well. Uh they had one girl that showed up, but we hosted Veterans Memorial and Miller and we had over a hundred wrestlers come out in the comp gym. It was a great event. Uh so proud of of the way that our kids represented. Coach Clark and Coach

Black did a really good job of organizing it. Um it's the first of many. Uh I know it was I I know we had the stands were packed. I wrestling is here in Rockport and I think it's official now that we hosted our first event. So uh super proud of of our kids there. Um the big UIL update uh got dropped today with uh the conference realignment numbers. Uh it doesn't really say a lot about redistricting or anything like that, but it did uh confirm that we are staying in 4A uh with our enrollment numbers. Uh our enrollment uh at snapshot it is only the the high school enrollment. Uh our enrollment was 8.91. Um, and 4A is from 550 all the way to 1304. So, for all of our sports, we're going to be

in 4A. For football, it it's it's divided into division one, division two. For football, the um the division two is from 550 to 895. So, we are at the top end of the 4A division two. We are staying 4A division two, but we are on the top end. That number last year or two years ago whenever realignment happened was 956 if I'm not mistaken. So that top number of 4A division 2 dropped about 60 uh number or 60 people which I don't know if I've ever seen that happen before. Um so that just kind of shows that all enrollments are kind of decreasing. Um and and really there were a lot of 4A numbers that actually dropped down. Cinton dropped down to 3A division one. London moved up. Um we have Corpus Christie Carroll, they

moved up to 5A D1. Um Miller, Moody, and King all dropped down to 4A division one. So we have a lot of um it just kind of the the consensus is all enrollments are dropping and we went from 8.98 to 891. So it's a a a decrease of seven for us. Uh but we've seen other people that are that are dropping a lot more than that. So um I know sometime we we want to talk about enrollment and it's very important. Um but from two years ago it is very stagnant in the sense that we're not losing as much as what other people are losing especially in the corpus districts and uh and and sitting they they lost quite a bit and they're moving down to 3A. So, uh, if y'all have any questions, I'm

more than happy to try to answer them, um, regarding UIL or anything athletics. losing 73 students in their high school and we only lost seven time. So it shows you more says a lot about and and it's it's kind of it's a double-edged sword in the sense that it's only that cohort, right? Uh and 2024, it was that four uh four grades, right? Then, and then two years later, it's still those sophomores and freshman that were in the 24, but then now there they are juniors and seniors, and then we're dealing with a new set of uh freshman and sophomores. So, it's not districtwide. It is just that high school cohort. Yes, that's the plan. >> I I don't know. I mean, London moved up. Yes. But, uh, again, we we won't know anything until

February district-wise. All right, we're going to move on to our operations report. Mike >> Okay, so you mind flipping the slide for me? Thank you. So, we just had our first door replaced over there at Little Live Oak in the prek hall. So, that's a picture of it. Uh, Miss Poland was gracious enough to let us use the lab as kind of a guinea pig cuz we weren't really sure what we were going to get into when we ripped out that existing door and frame and there was a little more work we had to do. Uh, our staff had to get involved and kind of help reinforce with that that glazed brick and sometimes there's you can't anchor it correctly. So, we we had to do a little more work, but it ended up working

out really well. So, we're going to do we we're for sure going to do three. We're going to try to do four over this break. So, we'll have four more classrooms done. Uh, all frames and doors replaced. We we have to be careful because we want to make sure that that door is done because if the door is not there, you can't have a class in there. So that's why we're kind of going through a phase and plan. We have a break. We're trying to do as many as we can, but it's a little involved. We have to rip out the door, then the contractor has and then we have to reinforce the frame, and then the contractor comes installs the frame. So there's a lot of moving parts to get that done, but it

it worked out well. So we have a good plan now, and uh we should have that all done. We're hoping spring break that'll be the next break and we'll have that whole uh wing done. access control. And then moving over, we uh that this is a picture between the green gym and competition gym during the construction phase. We had the demo out that because there's some utilities we had to add there. And this is pretty much going back with the sidewalk that used to be there. You can see there's formings up that is scheduled to be poured next Monday. And this is actually we took this out of the project and because we were able to save money, the district did this outside of the GMP, so we were able to save uh cost there.

And uh moving on to the budget, we started with 788,500. So far we've encumbered 328,145 expenditures from the last operations report, 27,913. Uh which leaves leaves us with 460,355. Any questions? This is right between both uh green and comp. So that you can't see in the picture, but there's actually four uh plates grates that are going to be in there for to allow the flow. And there's storm inlets, storm water inlets just if you're looking at that picture on the right side, there's two or three storm inlets, and it'll all drain under that sidewalk, straight into that inlet. So drainage shouldn't be an issue for that area. Yeah, it's hard to tell, but there's four grates that are going in there to allow water to go underneath. Come on.
