I just want to >> All right. Do we have swim parents? swim here. Sebastian's hiding in the corner. >> Anywhere. Anywhere. >> You ready? Yes. Yeah, that was um these are our two teams, the girls team and the boys team. They were both district champions. UM we had uh quite a bit qualify for state. They did very well there. Um it's been a really hard year this year not having a pool. we had to really reach out and and use our resources such as um Cal Allen helped us out letting us use their pool. Um there

was a few times we had to go to the niatorum. We used the natitorium to host our actual home meets and we even went to Flower Bluff once. They were gracious enough to let us go over there. But we, like I said, we've we've been really outstretched and thank God our swim community is very loyal and they know how important it is and it was all about the kids making sure the kids got the training they needed to get and be as successful as they were this year and they did very well. So considering >> and they train at what time? six in the morning. And there's a couple of times we show up at a pool and we couldn't get in. >> So, it that's frustrating when you get up that early >> and

were district champs. They finished six at state. They were in the running all the way to that last relay. And uh unfortunately our former boys coach teams passed us up. So they got the fifth place banner. We got we got six. But still I mean >> that's good. >> That's all we had and we were able to score that many points. So they they did a great job. Uh, Bryley Bersar, >> Jackson Cook, also on a relay. >> Uh, this next gentleman is a senior. He qualified in his individuals. and on the relays he is the 100 butterfly state champion. >> Congratulations. >> Next we have Sebastian Ramon. He also qualified on the relays. DID A GREAT JOB. Um we'll turn it over to you, Miss Pratt, to make your presentation on behalf of your outstanding students. >> Thank you. Good evening,

uh ladies and gentlemen. We're so happy to be here with you again. Uh in November this year, we took a wonderful group of theater students to thespians, uh here in Corpus Christi, where a lot of them competed. They performed on mainstage shows. Um they were part of the opening and closing ceremonies. Um and we were lucky to have 14 students qualify for nationals this summer. Um in addition, we had um several of them receive superior scores and we even had one that performed on main stage with a professor, Caitlyn Benitas. Um all of these students are here and they want to represent uh the school at nationals this summer in Bloomington, Indiana, where they will learn from workshops. they will get to uh attend various opportunities for scholarships as well as future auditions um for

shows that are going to take place there as well as bring back several skills that we will continue to hone on uh for the next several years with this group. So I hope you guys will see it um to allow these students to travel to nationals and represent TM there. >> Absolutely. >> Splitfunded with beyond district and fundraising for the students. >> Yes. I am uh honored uh on behalf of the administration to recommend that the board approve the outofstate field trip request for the Tulsa Midway High School Theater Arts students to attend the International Thespian Festival in Bloomington, Indiana, June 21st through 27th, 2026 as presented. You >> want to have a motion? I'll make that motion that we approve the out ofstate field trip request for the TMHS theater arts students to attend

That's the most important thing. Have fun. >> All right. >> Thank you. >> Congratulations. >> So talented. >> Congratulations. >> Appreciate it. >> All right. Next item on the agenda is Tosa Midway Junior High School presentation. Mr. President, members of the board, um we have our architectural team here to give you the latest update on the Midway Junior High School. Mr. Lenz, >> good evening board members, Mr. Superintendent uh Van

Maitri, and all the administration. Thank you guys for having us. It's been a few weeks uh since I've presented to you guys and we really wanted to catch you up where we're at on the junior high. Uh so it's going to be a little bit of a long presentation because I want to make sure we all understand what spaces we have. And so I'm going to go kind of go through it in the different areas that we have for the building uh from the first floor to the second floor. um from the administration to the gymnasium. So that way you're aware of what it is that we have designed and what it is that the next steps are coming along uh with this construction manager at risk and what to expect in the coming uh

weeks for that. Uh first of all, we all understand our current site. I know we're we're looking at to see what it is, but uh this is our current site, the white dot, the white block, I'm sorry. Um just like how Mr. Dmitri has mentioned in the past, our Oregon Trail Connection uh falls along in that same line uh to make sure that in the future uh parents from TM are able to drop someone off at the intermediate, take Oregon Trail, the future Oregon Trail, uh to the junior high and then possibly even dropping someone off at the high school. all in the same loop uh to make sure that of course they're drop their children off on time as well as be on time for their job. This is what it looks like in

our drawings. Um we are providing a very large uh queuing area making sure that we're not overloading McKenzie uh with traffic. So, uh I don't know if the this will work on the TV, but essentially you have two-way traffic on the bottom as the your main entrance for buses as well as parents. Uh the middle uh entrance is for our administration and our teachers, our staff so that they can park and go into the new entrance. The main entrance is your star. Our secondary entrance is our circle. And then of course the exit only on the very top of the page is for uh anybody that would be dropping off at the main entrance to to exit as well as our bus loop uh to exit through there. So, just so you understand, uh, back

on the site plan, the the school itself does have a 45 degree angle turn on it. And then in plan, you know, we're we're making sure that it looks orthogonal in plan, right? So, the star is still your main entrance. The circle is your secondary entrance. Uh, very large building. If you look on the bottom, we have our first floor at 120,000 square ft. Our second floor, an additional 47,000 and our total square foot of 168,000 square feet of state-of-the-art educational spaces. So, let's start at the main entrance. Our main entrance. Yes, ma'am. You looked like you had a question. Oh, no. >> Okay. Let's start at our main entrance. Our main entrance will have our security vestibules. Uh so we have a main entrance coming in and you to the left is your administration

with your reception area and then a secondary vest to be just the way our current campuses uh were redesigned to provide. And all of this administration space was allotted for with our your current junior high your current middle school staff to make sure that we have the spaces required to meet their needs. past the administration, we have uh what we're calling the fine arts wing. On the left side, we have two band halls, our choir hall, and then between the the the fire the fine arts wing and the actual large spine corridor in the middle is our main area for our cafeteria. You have a fullsize kitchen uh to cook and store. Um and then the area between there is for um office for the janitor, office for our kitchen staff. Um and then the

large blocks on the very top are our infrastructure uh spaces for air conditioning, water, heaters. Um making sure that we're able to fit everything uh required for that. to the right side after your entrance. Again, I can't use the the pointer, but first vestibule, second vestibule, and then you have actual access to this open space. And I brought over a study model because I think it's important for us to understand. You don't have to be too gentle with this this study model. So, it's it's got issues. It's got broken pieces, but we used it to understand what the space is happening with our multimedia center, which is the block right where the courtyard is. Our stairs with our um again, I apologize that this doesn't work, but our stairs that we're allowing for students to

gather and sit, possibly even take a class or watch some sort of uh documentary from the sky. um and how it interacts. If I can just kind of go over this real quick and how it interacts in here, right? So these large steps are the large steps there. This is your main spine and you kind of we created these kind of walkways. It wasn't the model. >> We created these walkways around the area to create a double height space. Um of course the railing is going to be there. If you don't see a railing, it probably broke off, but there's plenty of safety uh on these rails. >> Yeah, we don't want any kids getting hurt. >> Of course not. On on I didn't go over the classrooms. On the south side wing is our

kind of uh first part. On the first floor, we have our seventh grade classes. On the south side is our typical classroom spaces where they you learn anything from math to history. On the top side is our specialized classrooms. We have our science labs at the very top and then our special education on the bottom. The special education is all grouped up uh because they currently kind of help each other out. We have um behavioral uh not behavioral, I'm sorry. We have a life skills and uh functional academics and and then of course we have our um behavioral I can't remember the name we put on there. >> Base. >> Perfect. Uh, so they're all grouped together so that they don't have to go very far and they are near the entrance because these are

our more sensitive children and making sure that they're uh they're they're able to be if they need to be picked up, they're nearby. Um, and then on top of that, we actually gave them the closest exit to the courtyard. Our courtyard space right now is designed for outdoor education. >> What does that what does that mean? It means they'll be able to have class outside. they'll be able to quote unquote hang out outside and it's all secured. There would be a fence around that area which we'll show in a minute to make sure that anybody that's in there again safety and security being our most important part. >> There's a sensory room, right? >> Yes, we have a sensory room and so both all three classrooms have their own individual space. Let me go over

there because this pointer is not working. So these are the three special ed classrooms and they all have a this is called a cool down space. This is the sensory room. This is sensory and this is sensory. So all >> so each room has >> each room has their own sensory room. >> They have their own uh bathrooms. >> So they they have uh they don't have the the restrooms the functional space but they have their individual restrooms. >> Okay. Another question. Do they have like a shower? >> Yes. So that's what this little little X is. Those are showers. And then the the shared kitchen is between both of them. >> Good. I was about to ask about the kitchen. >> Yes, ma'am. >> And um and I think of another question I ask

you in a minute. Where's the elevator at? >> Mhm. >> Sure. So you see it here. This is the elevator. So if we go back one more um right here. >> Another question. >> Yes, ma'am. um if there is an emergency save. >> Thank you for bringing that up. It's part of the presentation. If you just give me like a few more minutes, we'll get to that. >> So, yeah, that was >> I was I was told I needed to address that. So, it's on the presentation. >> Okay, perfect. >> Thank you. >> All right. So, going on to the the top part. Um, so what we worked with our construction manager is as we design, we give him our plans and he's supposed to give us budget numbers at our 50% set that we

provided to him in November. He came back and said, "Hey, your auditorium space, your gymnasium space were probably out of budget." the contractor met with us and told us, "Let's go to look at this school in Corpus, >> Carol." >> Carol, um, where they combine the gymnasium and the stage. He said, "If you guys are able to combine that, you're saving over 10,000 square ft." And then start making small cuts here and there for some of the bigger rooms like the band halls, the choir halls. and combine this, we'll come back into budget. And so our design team went back, combined our performing arts area and what we're calling a performance gym. It's a full-blown stage. It has all the capabilities that the auditorium has. The biggest part of it is that it's can seat

more people. If you remember our gymnasium on the second floor, we had seating already. So, we we're keeping that seating. It's over 680 uh seats on the second floor. And then we're able to infill with regular chairs on the inside of the gymnasium, raising our total to 1,200 people that can be watching this. Why do I mention that? Because your current school uh goes to the Jim Cooper auditorium. Their max capacity is a thousand kids or a thousand people spectating or 900. What was it? I don't remember. >> It's just under a thousand. >> It's under a thousand. So, what we were told was there's some performances like the lip sync battle where it gets full. So, you're at capacity there. And so, now you're able to go a little bit beyond capacity with this.

if you were able to uh bring all the chairs at 1,200 seats, the second level uh which we'll go over in a minute. And then of course on this same level with along with the performance of the of the stage, we have what we call a black box. In this black box, it is a flexible space so that our theater arts um students can practice. It can be uh flexible enough to do a circular stage. It can be flexible enough to be your typical stage and of course a classroom of sorts for just theater arts. Um with that they do also have a shop, a scene shop to do any productions that they need to do in there. At this level at seventh and eighth grade that we were told they really don't do the

heavy uh sawing and cutting and things like that. It's more painting and uh moving the the uh the backgrounds around. So, we still kept it large enough to be able to do that. The direct access either you you move some of the set into the black box or you move directly into the stage itself. With that being said, we do have a separate entrance to it which we labeled it with the circle, right? Uh it's our secondary entrance during uh Saturday performances. You don't have to open up the school. You would have people enter through there. >> That's good. >> So we went to Carol and you know we we wanted our own separate auditorium but at the end of the day it was price prohibitive. But we went to Carol and we had a

conversation with the Carol teacher. And um his only issue was scheduling. And at a 5A high school, they're going to have things that we don't have in a seventh and eighth grade campus. But as far as lighting, acoustics, the black box, he said it was perfect and met 5A high school's need. So, I think we did our due diligence because we all know how important our theater arts program is at TM. >> Absolutely. And on top of that, excuse me, the what the teacher mentioned was the scheduling of the basketball games, right? Uh what we're doing is we do have the main gym, but we also have a secondary gym for practices or for during a tournament, you have two uh games going on at the same time. Uh, and just a quick reminder, we

do still have our bowling alley there right below the gymnasium, the the basketball court. >> It's actually got one more lane now, >> right? Uh, so when we went out to get some pricing on the bowling alley, uh, our our bowling consultant said, "Hey, they don't sell three lanes. They only sell two and four. You got to keep it even." So, either we bought four lanes and cut one out to make it the three, or we just keep the four. And so, we we opted to keep it in four lanes. No additional uh square footage was needed. We just kind of squeeze it in there with our bowling consultant. That's our secondary gym. Uh entrance to it can have its own entrance on the north side or the south side with a vestibule or it

can be accessed directly from the gymnasium area. Now we go on to the very back side of the gym where we have our locker room areas. The two locker rooms are separated male and female. And then in between there, we've worked with our coaches to give us a state-of-the-art uh weight program. Their preference on this space is to have the large racks because they're so flexible. You can do squats, you can do uh deadlifts, you can do the bench press, and then in between them, there's also the pull-up areas and different uh accessories that are require that that these uh machines are able to do instead of just kind of breaking it up and having individual machines. uh this just has a plethora of different activities that the students can do. And then on top

of that, because it's um a a growing program for the future of the high school, uh we're we're able to brand some of these things. You know, the platform is going to have TM on it. Uh our our lighting system, uh we we we're looking at a at a lit TM on top of that to kind of give that boost of uh sports morale going through there. So the second floor, again, some of these spaces are double height, so it doesn't count against us on our square footage. Uh, but second floor, same thing. The only difference on the classroom sizes on the second floor is our eighth grade classrooms. >> Bottom side is all regular classrooms with one science lab. Top side more specialized classrooms, science labs, as well as an art class and some

regular classrooms. This is the second floor that I was talking about about on the gym. So, what we were able to do when we incorporated the the the performing stage is we're creating we still have the track, but we were able to create a flexible classroom out here, right? Uh whether that's your um PE or if it's an actual class or even your theater to kind of perform things up there. when it's a basketball game or anything happening in the gymnasium where it can be e either or for the performing arts, we have our own restrooms and we have our own concession stands. Uh the concession stand is a shared concession stand uh to save some uh square footage on that. But the restrooms are separated in home and away visitors uh homeside, visitor side.

>> So you have some on both sides. >> Yes. God, that's great. >> Yes. And then uh again this is just more of a the the double height area for the weight room. What the coaches requested was some kind of uh cardio machines as a mezzanine. So this is where the squats are at a double height. And then we created a small mezzanine to have some treadmills, uh rowing stations, and possibly some ellipticals. Oh, here we go. going to our uh special kids or anybody that would need help on the second floor. So, the way it's defined whenever somebody needs to evacuate from a wheelchair is they need to go to an area of refuge. However, an area of refuge is defined when there's no sprinkler system. We have a full-blown sprinkler system, but we

do have areas for uh the the the wheelchair or anybody that's handicapped to wait. not only wait, but when when they wait for these uh spaces, if we look on here on the top left star, you're waiting outside on those stairs. And the reason for that is they become emergency stairs. We're looking at this one >> and we're looking at this one. They become emergency stairs to wait outside. So, they're not waiting inside for somebody to help them. They're already outside now. They're just waiting for someone to come and help them into a specialized chair to get them down um from the from the second floor. And these are placed at each um stairwell so that way the the in an emergency someone has that access. While while we do not uh discriminate, right, but

we do have most of our special ed down on the first floor. Uh can they access the second floor? Absolutely. Um but there's no classroom uh that would be required uh to have someone there with a wheelchair. >> Well, not just our special needs kids. I mean, let let let's be honest. Let's say for example, yeah, a football player's playing. He gets hurt, messed up his his leg. Absolutely. >> And he's got a class in the top floor. I mean, sure, if there's a fire or something, how is he supposed to or she, you know, not just he, he or she is able to get out, you know, what if they're in a wheelchair? What if somebody falls and you know, gets hurt for whatever reason? Not just with football, but you know, there's classes

of Absolutely. So, we need to make sure that >> we were discussing it is we thought of what if there's a teacher >> that maybe hurt themselves. So it works both ways for children and for adults. Um and so these are the the building will be equipped with these at those stairwells. >> Okay. Well, there'll be like for every teacher to have training on this like saying hey you know if in other words who's going to be designated to that when when we have these just like with uh AC's and any equipment that's brought up there's training to be provided. Um we we leave it up to administration whether that's going to be the teachers, whether that's staff, whether that's admin in the area like principles or assistant principles. But we do provide that training

once the building is is ready to start uh functioning. >> Well, not me, but the contractor will. >> No, I just want to make sure that everybody has access to the top floor, but also has access in case of an emergency that they can get out. >> Yes, ma'am. And then just kind of put your mind at ease a little bit more. Um, all our our documents, our plans, our designs, they go through codes on codes on codes on codes. So everything is to code. The city has to review it. Uh, we have a a third party what we call a registered accessibility specialist, a RAZ. He goes through every set of plans and make sure that we're meeting our codes, meeting the Texas Accessibility Standards. And so all these things are reviewed and uh

part of the code book. >> Okay. Yeah. Because I know that there's some kiddos that um you know have health conditions that sometimes they can't climb stairs. Yes, ma'am. >> You know, not just that they're hurt, but that they can't climb stairs. you know, medically reason medical reasons why. So, just want to make sure that everybody is taken care of, but not be excluded from being on the top floor if they, you know, have a class up there. >> No, no, you're you're right. And and they're not excluded. It was just a >> Yeah, >> it was just a an overview that >> the the the special ed students are on the first floor, but absolutely anybody in a wheelchair can go to the second floor everywhere. >> Yeah. because there's there's kids that are

not in the special ed department, which I always advocate for all the special needs kids. Um, but there are other kids that, you know, have other health issues that >> do want to go up there too, you know. So, I just want to make sure that everybody's taking care of, everybody has access and will be >> safely >> taken out if they if there is an emergency. >> Absolutely. >> That's what I wanted to know. >> And then just kind of going over our last uh uh renderings, I believe Mr. Vitri might have shared some of these. Um, and this is actually a good example of what what this model shows uh with those those wood steps where the kids kind of just congregate. Um, the colors are not finished. The graphics are not finished.

This is just more a representation of what uh the area will look like. Um all of these graphics and and letterings will go through uh the the scrutiny of admin and and making sure that it's approved. Uh a view of the performance stage. Again, >> let me ask you about the chairs. Are there those chairs going to be shared with cafeteria or you have a certain place you going to store them? >> Great question. So, we do have a certain space to store them. If we look at our first floor on the gymnasium, um we have quite a bit of storage. Uh where those restrooms are on the north side, everything around that is all storage. And then we do have some storage between the bowling alley and the gymnasium uh to store more things.

So plenty of storage for those chairs. Yes, sir. >> Good. >> So is that how Carol's gym? >> Correct. >> Stadium is that you have chairs. Okay. Then my next question is what kind of floor is it? Is it a Is it a wooden floor or is it a >> It's a wooden floor. >> It is a wooden floor. They have to put a mat. >> You put a mat down >> to protect it. >> Uh Sergio, go back to the bar now. >> Yes, sir. >> We're probably not going to host Special Olympics bowling, but we will be having opportunities for parents to come in. Um what kind of space do we have around the bowling alley where parents can watch their kids bowl? So, our our our main uh lobby space or gathering

space is right here. Um I don't have the exact number of people that are allowed in there, but if it's standing room, I would say anywhere between 50 and 60 people can fit in here. >> Uh but our students themselves are the most important ones. And so they're they're they would be in this area here. There's no seating chairs >> or for for the students uh that we we're we have um the little movable chairs, a few of them, but again, we're not too sure on the how many how many would be in wheelchairs or how many would be in something else. So, we left kind of that open as well. >> Yes, sir. And but there is no seating for for parents. >> Can you see from the top floor to the >> to

the bowling alley? No, >> it's enclosed. Okay. >> Yes, it is enclosed. It's this is actually where our seating is on the second level. >> Ah okay. >> Yes. >> Will all campuses be able to use the bull? >> I have no doubt that every campus every employee will >> I think every employee should be able to use those treadmills and for the wellness. I think that would be great. >> Yeah. Yeah. I I I have a feeling >> my name on >> because we have a very uh we have a tradition the admin have a have a bowling tournament at Christmas. So I have a feeling that may be >> uh the venue may be changed. >> That's awesome. >> As well as a reminder we do have that indoor track. Eight laps equals

one mile. um you know open it up for >> I'm sure HR as proactive as they are going to have some sort of >> use wellness program good for our our special kids that um when they're practicing for track and field they can go inside cuz sometimes the weather is not good for them to go outside you know to to practice. So that would be a good space for them. >> So I will say that we've looked >> from San Antonio down we have not found an indoor track for a middle school. So you guys would be >> the very first indoor track. >> You found a bowling alley too. >> You could win. I have not found a bowling alley either. >> Look at that. >> Love it. >> I do too. >> I

have a question about the sensory rooms real quick. >> Sure. >> Um >> what exactly would go in there? Did you speak with our um our director of how to create those spaces? >> We did. We did talk to them. Uh the biggest thing was it's what they call a calm down room. So very dim lighting, adjustable lighting, very nice and uh cozy. Furniture wise, I I don't want to speak outside of that, but there should be some more uh soft uh cushioned areas for them. Um as well as we did uh hear them out and they have a a punching bag. So the punching bag wouldn't go in the sensoring room, but things like that are incorporated into the design. >> Okay. >> I also add to that a lot of the lights have,

you know, 365 colors, too. So even in the main three spaces, there are cove lights on the edge. So if there's a a nap time that needs to happen, you can dim them to a nice blue color to dim the whole room to a blue color and those kinds of things. So, and that also happens in those sensory rooms too. >> Just to clarify, this is just in those special rooms. This is not throughout the building. >> Yeah. For >> the for the for the colored of the lights. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> Feels like y'all thought of everything. >> And then one last one last reveal. Mr. Van Matri has not seen this, so we'll see how it goes. >> Oops. Of course, it didn't play. Let's see. It's bottom left. >> Are those

double lane drop offs? >> Yes. >> Actually, I think it's a triple lane in some areas. >> It's plenty of room. If two or three cars stop, the cars can go around. >> As long as the kids don't get hit. >> Mhm. So, our our our landscaping courtyard is not completely uh in this rendering yet, but we wanted to show it to make sure that it um you get a good feel of what that's supposed to look like. >> And Sergio, I'm sure you're taking into account our water situation. >> Absolutely. Yes, sir. >> The way we're answering that question is we're we're actually going to dig a water well just to to water that area. >> That's the wait room. Beautiful campus. >> Yes. >> Big. >> Well, and that wait room. >> The

middle school is >> been without a wait room. They have a weight room, but been without a wait room for a very, very, very, very, very, very long time. >> And that benefits the high I mean that benefits our middle school programs and our high school program. >> I think there was a question someone had brought up on those triangular areas. Just wanted to confirm that it's just in that main entrance. It's nowhere else around there. Um, it's our it's our uh tribute to the vernacular architecture as well as uh it's a it's a it's something different. It's not your typical canopy that you see at all the schools. Um, so it it it it really enhances our design. >> So, wow factor. >> Thank you. With that, I'm going to move on to what's

next. And really, I'm going to skip this slide because this is slide gives us a little bit better graphic. So, today we're providing the uh CMR new drawings. It's what we're calling our 85 to 90% set. With this set, our CMR is going to review it and will provide recommendations. And it says, >> h, >> this is Fton Construction, correct? Um, it says 3 weeks on there because at this point in our process, we need to be very close to our budget. And so what he's going to come back with our recommendations saying, "Hey, maybe you're a little out of budget, but we recommend you do these things to get us back within budget." What that allows us to do is um make sure that as a group, the owner, uh school district, the architect,

ourselves, and the contractor agree to what those recommendations are. Because if he comes back and says, "Well, the only way to get within budget is we cut out a gym." We're going to say, "No, Mr. Contractor, you can't do that. You got to figure it out." So those recommendations, we do need to put them back in the drawings. However, with those recommendations and the caveat that we're going to follow those recommendations, he should be able to give us a GMP at the budget that was requested. If our budget is 80 million, he's got to meet the 80 million. If our budget is 8.5, 80 and a half, he's got to meet that there. What our drawings are going to do is justify that GMP and then he can go out to bids for it. Once

we get those hard bids, then we'll even be able to if it went in lower, whatever savings from the GM GMP to what those bids are come into a contingency allowance to be able to put back into the project, maybe some of those recommendations that were moved around. So, we got about six weeks of work and then our goal is to have that GMP ready by May. At the same time, our design team because of again the land situation, we had to get special surveys. Uh we are submitting to the city this week our platting for the property because if you remember correctly, we have uh 800 acre tracked. Then we got 40 acres surveyed. Now we have to record it with the city, with the county to make sure that everybody's on uh aware

that it's our property. our our engineer said he's going to submit this week. City of Corpus says it's 6 to 8 weeks. Mr. Anand has contacted the city of Corpus trying to cut down some of that time, but I don't want to guarantee that it is going to get cut down. So 6 to 8 weeks is our typical from the city. At the same time, once we are submitting our plat and our plans are ready to go, we will submit for permitting. Um, and you will see start of construction by May. But what is it that you're going to see? There's a lot of work before you see any vertical things going on. Infrastructure work. We got to bring in water. We got to bring in sewer. We got to bring in the uh the

fiber optics. So, a lot of infrastructure work will be moved uh prior to you seeing any type of building. Once that's done, then you're going to move into the dirt. We got to move dirt around. Then we got to start drilling the peers. And then you'll start seeing foundation work. I will be uh transparent with you guys that that is a probably a slow process. Just the way you kind of saw the CTE, it was from 2 three months of no work to all of a sudden it's up. >> Yeah. >> The same way here at a bigger scale, 168,000 square ft is the size of a I don't even know what to compare it to, a small mall, right? Uh so it's it's a lot of building that needs to get uh the foundation

needs to get done. So, I just want you all to be aware of it, be very patient with it. We are moving as fast as we can safely, making sure that we're covering all our costs, making sure that we're covering all the integrated systems that have to be a part of it. Again, it's 168,000 square ft. So, there's a lot of moving parts from our mechanical to our plumbing to our electrical. Everything needs to jive our structural. Uh what I can tell you is on new construction, we should not see change orders. We should not see um uh issues to where I have to come back and tell you, hey, we need more money. Once that GMP is set, there shouldn't be anything on budget purposes. >> Don't come back and say that cuz we

don't have no more money. >> Oh, I I know >> we saved money. >> I get Mr. Van Matri, hey, this is the budget. Don't pay anymore. >> Use my name on his phone. >> Believe me, I know. >> Tom doesn't say you saved us money. Save our district. >> Absolutely. The goal 100%. >> Okay. >> With that, I will entertain any more questions um on anything. >> We appreciate you. >> Yes. Thank you so much. >> Thank you so much. >> Congratulations on the honor. >> I appreciate that. Thank you to text you. Yes. >> Have a good evening. >> There you go. >> Thank you. Safe travels. >> Thank you. >> Yes. Be safe going back. >> And thank you for the dessert. >> Thank you. >> Have a good one. Safe travels.

>> Bring me the strategic plan. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> All right. That item was for presentation only. No board action needed. Uh item number three on the agenda is Texas Education Agency business report. >> Yes. >> Okay. Sorry, Mr. President, members of the board, Mr. Hernandez is going to give us a financial impact on seat belts. >> Thank you, sir. >> Thank you. All right, members of the board, good evening. Uh t uh I'm sorry. The Texas legislators are contemplating requiring mandating seat belts on all school buses in uh 2029. uh they've uh tasked TEA with trying to get a cost and some analysis how how school districts will be able to comply with this if it does indeed pass in 2029. So TA is is asked us to get this information to them

and to update it into Sentinel. They're also requiring that this information be presented to the board either in a presentation or uh consent agenda item uh to make sure you've got this information for you. They'll work on that in this meeting. Of course, we're going to do it with so you can ask questions and not get it through consent agenda. Before you see a spreadsheet with all our vehicles here at Tlosa Midway, we've got 44 vehicles right now uh in in the fleet. Uh and this kind of gives you a breakdown of where we're at. The red need to go to auction. They they've already done their time. Uh they're ready to go. We will put those in an auction either no later than May or June of this year. Uh the yellow buses do

not have three uh the ones in yellow do not have threepoint seat belts. The ones in green are compliant and meet the uh requirements for 2029. So we're looking at 19 buses that need to be uh retrofitted with seat belts. Uh we've reached out to Freightlininer. They're one of the big companies both Freightlininer, Bluebird, and International. They're all coming in with about the same prices to retrofit their buses. Uh if it's uh like 2015 or new year, you're looking at about $30,000 to retrofit. Anything older than that is going to be 45 uh to $50,000. And those are numbers that they they're generating right now. If this mandate goes through, I I foresee this price going way up. Uh they're they're going to look to make money. >> Yeah. The biggest thing is as of

right now, nobody will warranty this work. There's no warranty on the retrofit, nor is there any safety compliance or anything uh provided with that that funding. So, right now, Freight Liner's recommendation is anything that's older than 2015, we just go ahead and replace the bus. On the far right, I put the estimated cost. We're looking at a new school bus is right around 160 to $165,000 for a school bus. So if we were to replace the 19 buses, we're looking at about 3.1 million. Uh if we were to do a retrofit based on the numbers right now, we're looking at almost $800,000. I'm assuming if that does come to fruition, it'll probably be over a million dollars. that 3.1 if we replaced all these buses we would not replace them all at the same time

because you'd have to turn around and replace them all at the same time again right so we would have a couple I mean it would be >> staggering our million right >> yes we would try and stagger as much as we could but understanding that in 2029 everything we put on the road would have to have threepoint seat belts >> yeah I mean you're going to have to buy >> that was the plan in bond 23 >> right to stagger. That was a three-year plan that we got hung up on. We did complete year one and we want to still do year two and three, but that's where bond 2026 will come in to help us, >> right? >> We just have to have all of these buses replaced with seat belts by 2029. >>

Well, the green ones are already goes through. They're they're doing an impact study right now. A feasibility the financial feasibility of doing this. So, I will report that we cannot do that. I mean, off our our day regular budget, we cannot afford to replace 2020 buses. You know, if the bond passes, then we might be able to do that. But I'm going to report to T uh TA that we we can't afford this without some financial help. >> Absolutely. >> Because as right now, if if we ask for financial help, nobody everybody's afraid to say anything because there's there's really no clarity on this. like if I say that we can financially do that, that might lock us into having to purchase the buses. So, I'm going to report the truth that we cannot afford

these uh with our our normal budget without my outside financial help. >> So, if we were to fix or to get the buses fixed with it, will these buses last much longer or would it be better to replace them? >> No. Well, that's that's the thing. It's it's better to replace them. You look at like bus 23, the first one at the top of the yellow. It's already 20 years old. >> Um, and so we put the seat belts on it, but the engine goes out in a week or the chassis the the the repairs become too expensive. >> So that's why Freightlininer and the companies are recommending that anything over 2015, you really just replace it. >> Yeah. >> Cool. And I I really think just because that nobody is warranting the work or

sharing the safety of it, I don't think the uh the uh retrofitting them with seat belts is going to pass. I think the state will come back and say you're going to have to have just new buses equipped with it. And that law didn't pass until uh it went into effect was passed in 2017, went into effect in 2018, and that's when we got our first buses. In fact, bus 53 came without seat belts and it was questionable at the time when we got it. We had ordered it be in before the bill was passed. So, we were grandfathered in. But, uh, since it was a regular edus, I didn't feel that, you know, I wouldn't put you guys in that situation. So, we went and we retrofitted it with seat belts. 54 is a

special ed and it has the lap belts. So, it it actually has belts in it already. it doesn't meet the three-point belts that are are required. >> And that three-point belt is going to be used um for all the students like high school kids will be mandatory to use that as well. >> Yes. >> Good. I think they need to have seat belts. >> Any other questions or anything? >> Good information. >> Okay. Again, this item was for presentation only. No board action is needed. U going on to discussion. Action item number four, report strategic plan goal progress measure four, special education. >> Mr. President, members of the board. You've been sitting so long, huh? >> Good evening. >> Hold on. >> We all have lights. The amazing Dr. Shaw. Good evening members of the

board. Tonight we have our director of special education. She will be presenting on strate strategic goal number four which is the district will see a 5% increase of students who are exiting sped programming following the district framework and IEP conclusion. So I'm going to pass it over to Mrs. Booker. >> Thank you. There are there is that and a quick brief that I am required to give to you guys about our resultsdriven accountability. I promise it will be brief. >> I go down. Oh, I have to scroll. Okay, then I'll stand over here. All right. Okay. Okay. First, some celebrations. As always, we already got to celebrate our um our Special Olympians, but these are our pre pre special Olympians. Just some really fun highlights from our ECSE kiddos. And those are our three and

our four year four-year-olds. I know y'all saw this in the board brief and so you could read all the little things that they were doing, but this is stuff that they've been working on from the very beginning of the school year and um our our teachers and Mr. Crabtree wanted to share with everybody. >> This stuff. >> They're so fabulous. That is a really great class to go check. Um, next is just a quick overview of our resultsdriven accountability data, a summary of our strategic support plan, um, our new continuum of services that directly is impacted by that support plan, our indicators from our outcome, um, student outcome improvement and our strategic goal update. First of all, I want to talk to you about what a resultsdriven accountability is. Um, it's our RDA. It measures

or AC student academic performance, graduation and dropout rates, least restrictive environment and discipline indicators. Um there are other areas that RDA looks at but I am responsible for special education and I apologize whenever I downloaded this my highlight didn't come through but we are a level two which is needed targeted support. some historical uh backgrounds. Whenever I arrived uh before 2024 2025 school year, there was a past classroom, an adaptive ed classroom, and inclusion. Little bit of resource thrown in, but not necessarily um to the extent that it needed. So it created some challenges with some inconsistent access to that specially designed instruction of special education, limited scaffolding for students transitioning from alternate curriculum and our our teams without some without some clear guidance on what star and star alt um eligibilities were. So that

was what was identified in our strategic support plan which is how to correct that RDA data. The our problem was that we were our students were not meeting the state expectations on STAR and the root cause was it's just a lack of continuum of services that was aligned to the students needs and the least restrictive environment. So they had been moved from centralized programs placed into gened settings and without our committee decisions aligned to those individual student needs. So we've rebuilt an entire continuum of services to support that LRE. Um we now have a life skills, a functional academics, structured learning is growing up through the grade levels. We have resource inclusion base which is our behavior program and our 18 plus transition program. And our placement decisions are now based on cognitive functioning, adaptive

behavior, instructional needs, and those social emotional needs. >> All of this kudos to y'all. Thank you. Um, it was definitely a team effort. All of this was part of our big needs assessment whenever we I met with the state. So, we developed program characteristics and decision ma matrix guide um for our committees. When you're determining that LRE, we're looking at that cognitive achievement evaluation data, adaptive behavior, functional skills, instructional level, behavioral supports, and communication needs. And that ensures that all of our student placement decisions are data driven. They're individualized and they're always aligned to IDEIDA LRE requirements. Um just so you can see how we improved from 24 to 25. Um we raised numbers almost across the board and well in this one on all areas. Um those reflect our first year of implementation in

the district's continuum of services for math, reading, science, and social studies at the elementary and middle school level. High school's a little bit different story, but I'm going to remind you that the time stamp for the that data was right as we were implementing those changes. So, this coming year, we should see some differences. Um, that cohort really hadn't had an opportunity to be in the new continuum of services. Then, our graduation rates have increased significantly and as well as our um our uh students who are exiting. So kiddos who are dismissed from special education services, their passing rates are growing through the years. All right. So our strategic goal, we'll see a 5% increase of students who are exiting special education programming following the district framework and IEP completion. I'm going to give you

a little caveat. This was made and then the state said, "Hey, by the way, we're going to put dyslexia programming under special education." So, we're working at baseline data for this and this is our baseline data. Um, we have 27 students who graduated with high school or graduated from high school in 2425. Um, those students count as completing their IEPs. We had 10 students dismissed completely from special education services and then seven students who have been successfully uh dismissed from speech this school year. >> Do you have any questions? Nope. >> Good job. >> Thank you. >> Good job. >> Great job. >> I just want to say that um if it's okay. >> Um >> you came into challenges and you turned them into opportunities, you and your team, and we're seeing the success

in the program. Thank you. >> And I I just find that very very exciting um to see that going on. So, thank you. >> Thank you very much. I have a fabulous team and these guys um they put up with a lot of nos from me and so um they're actually the magic makers because I just keep them within the boundaries and they're the ones who apply it on their campuses. So they're actually the ones who do the work. >> Awesome. >> Thank you. >> They have a good leader. >> Thank you. >> Y'all are all doing an awesome job. >> Yep. >> All right. Thank you very much. Um on to the next Item number five, report teacher incentive aotment. >> Okay, >> Mr. President, members of the board, um something we're really proud

of, uh an initiative that's put over a million dollars >> in the pockets of a bunch of teachers and Dr. Sham has led that initiative. Thank you. >> So, good evening. Um tonight we're here just to kind of give you an update that we are pleased to announce that TA has officially um confirmed our TIA designation for the district. Um this is our second year participating in TIA and the results indicate that we are significantly significantly moving in the right direction. Last year we had 32 teachers that were designated. This year we have 53. So that is a an increase. We had 20 teachers that received master designation which is the highest level. We had 25 uh teachers received the exemplary designation and then we had eight teachers that received the recognized designation. So once

we heard that we were, you know, we got that official confirmation, we went that same week, we went to all of the different campuses and we went to their classrooms and we gave the official letter, took pictures. I'm sure you saw them on Facebook. Teachers were so happy, you know, el we had it was amazing because they were crying. Uh it was completely unexpected. They had no idea that we were coming. So, that was um I think that was one of our um the best parts about giving them this notification. Um we do plan to have a ceremony in May to celebrate um their accomplishments. So, it's going to be very similar to last year where we will recognize them in front of their families, their colleagues, uh because they, you know, they truly um

they they deserve it. They've been working really hard. Um in addition, >> no, I want to go to that. I you will definitely be invited. So last year we brought in over $400,000 to the district. This year with our designations we're looking at over $900,000. So 90% will go straight to our designated teachers and the district will keep the 10%. So uh you know we're excited. This year's a big year. We are collecting data. This is for our third year which is a huge category which includes all of our CTE courses um all of our non-ESTED uh subject. So this year we're looking at a lot of data that we're collecting. So um we're working with um our campus principles um in addition to um our designations. We've been going I've been going to every

campus and meeting with the principles and we've been calling in teachers one at a time to go over their scorecard whether they were designated or not so that they can have an opportunity you know you know give us some feedback we're giving them some feedback on how they can you know if they're really close how they can get to that next level. So, I think we have one more campus with uh Miss Lucas, but we started it, but that'll be um the end. And just meeting with teachers. They'll send me an email. Hey, can you come and and meet with me and and go over my data with me? Absolutely. So, um they'll send me an email and we're meeting, you know, with them one-on-one. So, but super excited of our teachers. Um, you know,

I was we're little, you know, I don't I don't sleep from October to February because I'm just anticipating the results, you know, like are we going to make it because it's validated as a whole system. >> So, even if one category does really well, everyone has to do well. So, it it's it's nerve-wracking. So, u but I'm super proud of our district, our teachers, um like I said, it was this was a good year and it'll be a good year next year, too. >> That's great. So glad you brought it. >> So, thank you. So, a superintendent who got the Dear John letter from TEA because I'd never seen it >> and um sent it to me that says, "Unfortunately, your district is getting nothing. It doesn't say that, but it's a little softer." But

I would die to get one of those um letters that our teachers were not going to be designated. But they they do a great job, you know, and the the academic performance shows that. >> Very good report. Outstanding. >> Wonderful. >> All right. Item number six, discuss and consider a resolution of the board to establish non-b businessiness days for the 2026 2027 calendar years. >> Mr. President, members of the board, we have Dr. Shaman. >> Um, yes. Tonight we are bringing bringing forward the resolution of boardless non business days for public information act and this stems from house bill 3033 where they amended the Texas government code basically to really specify or define what business days are. >> Um and basically this relates to the public information act. And so you have um in your

packet you have exhibit A. So in addition to the state and federal holidays that are listed on the left hand side, we also um added the 10 additional non-b businessiness days. And so basically what we're saying that you know if there is a request that comes in where we do have to submit public records open record requests that we kind of have some grace uh because you know sometimes we may have a skeletal crew or we may be off during like the winter break. So basically this resolution is just granting us that you know that grace so that we're not penalized for not meeting the deadline of the open record request. And so, um, I have the resolution, um, that's in your board packet. And at the end, um, okay. >> At the end of

our meeting with your approval, >> if we vote and recommend the state and federal holidays with the additional designated non- business days, then we'll have um, we'll get signature. And this is a requirement. This is a a standard practice that we have to do every year. Um, and this is something that we also have to take to the board to get approved. >> Any questions? >> I don't think so. Anybody? >> No. >> Thank you. >> All right. This is Let's take the vote first. >> President, members of the board, it is the administration's recommendation that the board approve the non-b businessiness days for the 2026 and 2027 calendar years as presented. Okay. Do I have a motion on that item? >> I'll do that. I move that we adopt the resolution to establish 10

non- business days for the public information act for the 2026 27th calendar year as shown. >> All right. And Brian, do you second? Okay. >> All right. Let's go ahead and vote. Paul's not here. Leo Gonzalez, I vote yes. >> Rich, >> yes. >> All right. Brian, >> yes. >> Kim, >> yes. Yes. >> All right. Motion passes. 50. >> And now I got to read the resolution, right? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> You can uh let Rick read it if you so choose. Mhm. >> Whereas Midway Independent School District is a public school district subject to the Texas Public Information Act as the act. Whereas the 88th Texas Legislation 2026 authorized the passage of HB 3033 which revise the act by adding section 55200031 to the government code defining business days for the

purpose of the act. Whereas section 55200031 defines business day to mean any day other than a Saturday or Sunday on a national holiday or a state holiday. Whereas section 55200031 establishes that a school district board of trustees may designate up to 10 additional days per calendar year as non- business days. Whereas the board recognizes that the district 2026 2027 academic calendar includes non-school days that are not Saturdays, Sundays or state or national holidays. hand. Whereas the board recognizes that designating additional non- business days will allow school staff to better align with the district's calendar, academic calendar when responding to public information request. Now, therefore, it is resolved by the board that one, the board determines that the district will designate the specific dates listed in the attached exhibit A as non- business days for the

purpose of the public information act for the 2026 and 2027 calendar year. Two, future action by the board will be required to designate non-B business days for future calendar years. And the board hereby authorizes the superintendent to undertake additional measures as necessary to implement this designation for the purpose of the district's response to the public information request adopted by the vote of the majority of members of the school of the board of trustees of the Tulsa Midway Independent School District present and voting at an open meeting of the board on the 16th day of March 2026 at which a quorum was present. Is there anything else to read? >> That's it. >> Okay. Seven. >> So that's it. >> All right. Number seven. I'm sorry. uh discuss and consider uh to take possible action to

adopt a resolution regarding the teacher retirement system searchcharge required by the Texas government code uh 825.492B. Mr. president, members of the board, the legislature has given us flexibility with retire we hire teachers that we haven't had and um we're looking at um being as fiscally conservative as as we possibly can. So, Miss Riggs is going to present an action for you to consider and possibly take action on moving forward with this new legislation. Miss Riggs. Yes, sir. >> Okay. I I also as Mr. Vatri stated come with the resolution so I apologize. So retire rehire so that is a person who worked for the for a school district retired from the Texas retirement system and then has come back to work in the school district again. So when a retire rehire works more than 50%

of the time TRS requires two search charges um be assessed. One is the TRS pension search charge and the other one is the TRS care searchcharge. And these are two additional contributions that are on top of the benefits and salary. And the reason we do this is because those who have retired are not actively contributing to the fund. And so TRS has to protect the fund and make sure that there's financial stability for both the retirement fund and the pension fund. So as Mr. Van Matri stated in 2021 um the 87th legislature passed Senate Bill 202 with pro which prohibited school districts from passing the search charge directly or indirectly to the employee. So the school district was required to pay the sir charge which could add thousands of dollars in expenditures to the district.

In 2025 um the 89th uh legislature repealed that. So, we've taken a look at our retire rehire sir charges and that cost is about $200,000 to the district annually for the employees that we currently have. So, what we're requesting going forward is that we grandfather our employees that are currently retire rehires that we're paying sir charges. We continue paying their search charges while they're still employed with the district. However, any new employees that we hire that are retire rehires, we start assessing and passing that search charge on to the employee, thus saving the district some funds without having to incur any more search charges for those. Now, like I said, it's very important that we um give the loyalty to our current employees and have that respect for them. So, we're not going to pass

the search charge on to them. However, if they choose to leave the district and then they come back at a later date, at that point, we would assess the search charges and pass it on to them like we would everyone else. But right now, everyone who's currently with the district, we will continue paying their search charges while they remain employed with the district. So, what we're asking you tonight is to pass the resolution that passes the search charges to the employees who come on after today's date. >> So, I have a question. >> Yes. So, what happens if they reh they retire and they choose to stay out uh stay not stay out that was a wrong way of say they choose to stay in retirement but then we need somebody to fill a spot

like it's happened in the past and then we go back and we ask them would you be willing to come back as a rehire. How can we ask them to come back and then have them pay that sir charge? So what would happen in that situation that if we as the district are in a situation where we need that one specific teacher that or coach that has retired and then we ask them we're in a buying can you come back? How how would we deal with that? By making them pay for that sir charge if we're the ones in need of them. Unfortunately, with this resolution, it does not provide um any sort of exclusions. So, even if we were to go out and look for employees or maybe ask if they're, you know, interested,

they would have to pay the search charges. >> They'll get their regular salary. >> 16.5%. I would take it. >> Oh, yeah. I'd go back to work and I'd pay all of it. It's It's nothing. >> I'm just asking because I don't know. >> I Yeah. No, but it's nothing. I I would I'd go back to work >> and I'll pay and I'll pay and I'll I'll pay them easy. That's that's that's >> And I do like >> That's a lot of money. >> Yeah. >> It's a lot of money that I'm retired. I'm going to be getting teacher retirement >> and Tulsa Midway is going to pay me like 70,000 on top of that. Ring it. I'll go to work tomorrow. He's ready to come back to >> ready to come back. >> So,

so I think it's a great idea because school districts it's it's hurting us. I mean, we're paying a lot of money, $200,000. >> What should happen is there's no search charge, >> right? >> But I understand to keep the the TRS solvent, >> they have and those I'm a retireh and I'm not paying into the system. Um, so I understand the rationale of the state, but I agree. I don't think it's going to it may cost us some. It may, you know, someone may say, I want to make a 100% versus 84. >> I I do like that the ones that are already here that we're going to continue to take. >> It's the right thing to do. >> Yes. Yeah. Do >> you see other school districts? Uh, >> you know, Leo, that's a

really good question. I haven't researched it. Have you? >> I have not. I'll be honest with you. So, I'm not sure how many have in the past. Like, our district before 2021 that they didn't allow us to pass it on. Our district actually already passed it on in the past and I know there was several school districts that did that. So, then they rep, you know, then they didn't allow us to. So, I don't know since they've repealed it back this summer, how many have taken um any sort of resolution to pass it back on to the employee. >> I gota >> unfortunately with all the deficits around us, I'm sure they probably are. >> Yeah. Taking every advantage to perhaps. >> Okay. >> Great presentation. Any questions or anyone? No. >> Mr. President, members

of the board, it is the administration's recommendation that the board adopt the resolution regarding the teacher retirement system searchcharge required by Texas government code 825.492 B as presented. >> Do I have a motion? I'll make the motion that we approve the resolution to take action to adopt resolution regarding the teacher retirement system search charge required by the Texas government code A25492B. I'll second that. I'll second the vote. Uh Paul or not here. Leo Gonzalez, yes. Rick Chopper, >> yes. >> Ryan Ben, >> yes. Kimbo, >> yes. >> And Marty Himenez, >> yes. >> Okay, the motion passes. 5. >> All right. Now, we got to read this, right? >> You going to pinch it for him again? >> Sure. >> You do it. >> Go ahead. >> No. Okay, I'll do it. Whereas the board

of trustees of the Tulsa Midway Independent School District is committed to having the most highly qualified employee in every position in the district. Whereas this commitment sometimes means that the district rehires employees who have previously retired from the teacher retirement system. Whereas pursuant to Texas Government Code 85 825.492B 4092B. During each payroll, districts are required to contribute to the TRS for each retiree amount based on the retirey salary, which is the search charge. Whereas, Tossa Midway ISD previously passed a cost of search charge on to the retire through payroll deduction by imposition of a fee or by other means designed to recover the cost. Whereas the 87th Texas legislature passed Senate Bill 202 prohibiting an employer from directly or indirectly passing the cost of the search charge on to the retiree through payroll deduction by

imposition of a fee or by any other means designed to recover the cost and codify that position provision in the Texas government code 825.492F 4092F. Whereas in accordance with the Texas Government Code 825.492B F and the Senate bill 202 Midway ISD assumed the responsibility of the search charge for each retiree. Whereas the 89th Texas legislature passed House Bill 2 repealing the Texas Government Code of 825.492F. Whereas beginning with the 202627 school year, districts may resume requiring eligible employees to assume the cost of the search charge and the search charge imposes a significant financial burden on the Tulsa Midway ISD. And whereas the Tulsa Midway ISD believes that while the district should not continue to carry the burden of the search charge, current employees that are subject to the search charge should not be negative negatively

impacted by the above guideline changes in the law. Now therefore, it is be it resolved that the board of trustees of the Tulso Midway Independent School District has determined pursuant to the above that the district shall continue to pay the search charge for its current employees who are who are subject to the search charge while they are employees of the district moving forward. However, the district will not pay the search charge for future employees or current employees s subject to the search charge who may return after a break in service. Now, therefore, be it resolved, the source of funds for the search charge payment will be based on the alignment of basic costs provided in HB2 of the 89th regular legislative session may be used for this purpose. Be it further resolved that the board

of trustees has determined that the continued payments authorized in this resolution be served a valid school district purpose of maintaining morale, reducing turnover and ensuring continuity of district staffing that is sufficient controls will be put into place prior to the expenditure and that such benefits will be received by the district. Be it other further resolved that a copy of this resolution be placed in the meeting minutes of the Tulsa Midway ISD board of trustees and on the district's website not not later than the 7th day after the date of the adoption in accordance to the Texas Education Code section 11.0621B 0621B and two. And be it further resolved that the superintendent shall take all actions necessary and appropriate to implement this resolution in compliance with state and federal law and district policies in consultation with

the board of trustees and to ensure that documentation is maintained relative to the district's implementation and compliance of these laws. Certificate of resolution. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution be presented to the board of trustees of the Talos Midway Independent School District during lawfully called meeting on March 16th, 2026. A quorum of the board being then present, a motion was made to accept the resolution and seconded. Such a resolution was then adopted according to the following vote. >> Thank you. All right. So that is that right? We've already voted on that. So ma'am, next item is discuss and consider. Thank you, Mr. Chapter. Discuss and consider approval of consent agendaformational items, check register, financials, enrollment report, regular and special call board meeting minutes. 120all right. fell asleep on this. It is the Mr. President, members of the board, it is the administration's recommendation that the board approve the consent agenda as presented. >> Anyone want to make a motion? >> I'll make that motion. >> Okay.
