Will the parents of Louise and Sophia please stand up to be recognized Thank you to Sophia and Louise for leading us in our Pledge of Allegiance and invocation The next item on the agenda is the May election results agenda item 2.1 canvassing of votes for school board trustees Election held on May 2nd, 2026. Just give us one minute. Mr. Garza. We'll get right set set up for you Good evening Madam vice president and fellow board members and superintendent The May 2nd election was conducted as a countywide Election meaning that the
006voters were allowed to go to any of the 15 early voting locations or the 30 election day locations With that there were 200 22,763 eligible voters for this election of which 2280 participated early voting saw 1,553 voters Election day 606 and the ballot by mail 121 In your packet you have a summary of the precinct by precinct breakdown as well as the summary of the overall election for Board of Trustees place for Orlando Papas Lopez 1680 For the Board of Trustees place five Abel Sonny Fonseca 997 Rudy Corona 1194 In the Board of Trustees place six Alex Reina 646 Linda Garza 184 Selena Gonzales 1370 Board of Trustees place seven Royal Abrigo 11 1164 Frutoso M. Gomez jr. 1019 The election itself was Pretty smooth the overall turnout percentage was about 10% which is pretty
007average for a May election One of the things to note is that that we're now required to do what's called an official reconciliation For the election and so in your packet, I think you do also have a copy of that I hope it was sent a little after the canvas report was forwarded But of the 9827 early voters countywide there were 3557 on Election Day and 837 ballots that were Mail ballots that were cast as well as 12 provisional ballots for a total of voters of fourteen thousand two hundred and thirty three Taking out the ballots that were either rejected or not accepted by the board which was 26. So a total of fourteen thousand two hundred and seven Voters and two forty thousand two hundred and seven ballots meaning that every ballot that was
008cast was and every voter that Presented a ballot was accounted for There was a situation at the San Bernardino Community Center with regard to the bottom part of the ballot scanner Where I think it was either the humidity or the quality of the paper that was Causing it to curl a little bit at the beginning and after the scanner had processed the ballot They weren't clearing the pathway to drop into the transfer case and so at one point in the in the election the auxiliary bin had to be used so the voters could continue voting while we Were waiting for the sheriff's deputy to come and unlock the bottom of the the the ballot box And that's where the the counted ballots drop into the blue transfer case We were able to clear the pathway
009and make some changes and it did not repeat So once the pathway was cleared In the presence of not only the poll all the poll workers the sheriff's deputy and any voters that happen to be in the polling place The ballots that were cast in the auxiliary bin were then scanned into the the scanner at the at that moment in time So all the ballots that were were cast at the Brown I'm sorry the San Bernardino Community Building were processed at the San Bernardino Community Building and then ultimately returned to our office and secured for the duration of the election So if you have any questions with regard to the conduct or the results of the election, I stand ready No questions. Mr. Garza. Thank you for your explanation. Thank you very much The next

Lopez before and I look forward to working with all of you as officers. So, thank you So we're gonna go ahead. We're towards the end
034of the year. We're kind of give a presentation as to where we are at Academically, I know we're waiting for star scores and things like that But there's a lot of things that we need to present to the community on the growth that we have had this year Cornett take it away. I think it's a 45 page slideshow Good evening, everyone and welcome. Welcome. Mr. Rodrigo. Welcome miss Gonzales My name is Delia cornet. I'm the assistant superintendent of academics and it is my pleasure to present to you This year's end-of-year academic health report And so our theme our model for this year was driven by pride and defied by excellence And so this is the team that does the work We met in the beginning of the school year and we celebrated I'm like, I
035mean so just let me reach go back a little bit What I will be sharing with you is not a comprehensive everything that we do But what I'm trying to do is highlight the things that we've done differently and what we're doing to refine our programs There's a lot that goes into the work of the academics department But there are things that we're doing constantly to refine our practices for To improve things for our students and our staff And so in the beginning of the year we start off and we started doing academic retreats where we bring in the entire team and we want to focus on Academics and the things that are going to take place in the school year So we set the tone for the year and this year we were able
036to celebrate And so we had a great celebration begin the year the year before we had finished the school year of 2024 with three F campuses for D campuses and zero eight campuses This school year was started the year with zero F campuses one F 1d campus and six a campuses and so There was a lot of Celebration that went on and so but soon after the celebration we celebrate it was great. We did great things But then it was like, okay, let's get back to work and that happened right away. And so the team came together and We talked about you know who we are Who we are and what we why we do what we do and I'm not gonna read it to you You can read that but I just wanted you
037to see some of the work that goes in we have to ground ourselves in the work That takes place and so collectively that entire team that you saw Came together and says this is who we are when we say we are assembly of CISD And we talked about why we do what we do And so that led the foundation and the groundwork for the work that is to come And so I'm gonna go through the departments here and we're gonna start off with the Department of Assessment Research and Evaluation And this is really critical the work that miss abrigo does you can't get to a location if you don't know how to get there and she lays the groundwork and I have been here for 27 years and Something that is extremely different than miss
038Abrigo's does as the assessment director is that she goes into campuses and she provides specific trainings to administrators and teachers Departments and grade levels at every single campus to make sure everybody understands What the work is that needs to get done? When you're going from an a camp f campus and trying to get an a become an a campus it can become very overwhelming Because there's a lot of components that goes into assessment and what she does for our teams is she breaks it down So it becomes more manageable and people are able to say you know what I can do that and that's how we have been able to do the work and so But she does that work for us On each one of those slides you will see statements on the bottom
039and that is actual comments and feedback For my stakeholders our administrators on the campuses The next one is after school program after school program is led by miss Celia Banuelos She is a new person to our team and she hit the ground running like she she took off The after-school program has over a hundred. I'm sorry. Can you have them stand up that way? Oh, yes Miss Abrigo I can't see everybody but miss Banuelos is she there she is Miss Banuelos started came to our team She's an experienced administrator from a high-performing campus and she came in she learned everything and She has been running like a little mini campus out there and she's been doing great things One of the things I want to highlight so here She has a campus that has over
0401600 serves over 1600 students across the district at every single campus and 1200 fan over 1200 families offering 30 plus activities in academics arts STEM sports and career readiness This year our students in the volunteer income tax assistance program for student success 18 students were certified completed over a hundred plus 40 plus tax returns and earned third place in Cameron County One of the things I really want to highlight and it's not a bullet But there's a picture there is that they're very intentional about bringing our families together And so they provided every single campus They provide family events and there you see the picture of a dad painting with his daughter They do this at every campus and they do them at district-wide level once a month and so you know I don't know
041we probably need to work more on our marketing But I think that's an exceptional thing that they do and they strive for through the after-school program and she's done a fantastic job So great job miss Banuelos Next we have our bilingual program and there's great things first of all I want to recognize that we improved for our results driven accountability From 2024 being a level two to 2025 being a level one, which is the highest one you can get One of the things that we talked about and really strived for is what are we doing? We do a lot of things for our elementary campuses and bilingual we talked about what are we doing for our high school students? So we were very intentional and this year through our bilingual department. We had someone at
042our CCMR Center at the high school Someone specifically there who was going to be able to talk to our parents relate to our parents relate to our students that they became very comfortable with that person and so as you can see a hundred percent of our identified emergent bilingual students applied for college or a university a Hundred percent of our been identified emergent bilingual students completed their FAFSA or the TAFSA We had ten students who had been awarded scholarships twenty students had earned dual enrollment credit hours I'm not going to read you the whole thing but it's listed there for you so you can see the work that the bilingual department has been doing to support our Students and help them move on to college and career readiness and miss Emma Gonzales, Belinda Gonzales. There
043she is I'm sorry. I forgot to introduce you Next we have professional development. That's miss Marlena Dysa Just stand up She does a little bit of everything but she's been leading first So I want to highlight professional development. She we have a whole pod at a VMA that has been outfitted for professional learning That's where we conduct all of our professional learning now, and she has transitioned our system to the Omnitrack So now no longer do we separate between region one trainings and district trainings? They're all on the same platform I just received a text message earlier today. I was talking to miss Dysa for mr. Because he's text messaging me and sending me pictures now each one of those classrooms has an iPad outside Mounted so when teachers go in they no longer have
044to sign papers. They're just going to enter their ID number and they're going to automatically be Identified for attending that session. So we're moving things along over there also, we had is everybody who has been here before knows we had a heavy lift with a blue bonnet and Our research based instructional strategies walks And so that was a heavy lift for our district and a hundred percent of our teachers participated in that throughout our campuses The other heavy lift for professional learning this year has also been deep dives into the teacher evaluation system So teachers evaluation systems, they did some deep dive dives on those we received fantastic feedback from our administrators Very positive and that's work that we plan on continuing as we move on Also She also oversees library services. And so we're
045moving that area over She's doing some work with our librarians and providing some support and then she's also going to be helped lead the lasso residency programs as professional learning Next our next one is instructional technology and I don't believe mr. Farias is here this evening, but he is our go-to person for all things digital platforms This year, you know he what he did to facilitate work for our administrators He'd make sure that monthly reports were available to administrators every month on digital platforms Class dojo to again increase communication and accessibility to parents and create a two-way communication We utilize class dojo district wide He's also the person in our department who's working with the technology department to head to head our Apple Initiative for the upcoming school year This next slide right here because
046I'm we're gonna start looking at some numbers I know people want to see numbers So we're gonna start looking at some numbers and I want to give you some context here in General when we talk in education and we're looking at growth Anywhere from five to ten percent is what we say, you know, that's a good measure of growth from year to year And so when you start seeing numbers that are 20 plus percent growth Or numbers that are 50 plus percent growth. You're gonna start seeing that that's more Transformational you're looking at expression exceptional growth. And so I want you to kind of keep that in mind as we move forward counseling and advanced academics Counseling advanced academics is led by miss Sandra Domedos Couple of things that I want to point out here
047again, I'm not gonna read the whole thing for you But I do want to highlight a couple of items We've made it we really wanted to recognize our students who are achieving and performing at high levels So this year we started with our banquets for top ten We're also recognizing middle schools fifth eighth graders who are performing at that top ten We'll have those banquets next week We also want to recognize the people that are helping our students and acknowledge them So we started for the first year this year the torch award Where our top ten seniors were able to identify an educator at any time? Any educator who's made an impact in their journey? And so I was very emotional But it was great to peep for to recognize our staff members and our
048teachers who are making a difference in students and to Acknowledge that the work that our students are doing So that was really nice Also, I do want to highlight we unfortunately this year. We did go through a couple of times of crisis crisis it is difficult and when those things happened we had something that happened and With the staff member and with a student and I know that mr. Meadows She's got it and she's she's quick to make sure that we have the staff available the team available at the campuses to support Our teachers to support our students goes into his home visits So I want to recognize that work as well The other thing now we're going to talk about AP scholars last year This is a prestigious award for our students that are
049recognized We had four last year in this year. We had eight AP scholars dual enrollment dual enrollment student participation I'm giving you data for 2024 2025 and 2026 those numbers of growth are from 2025 to 26 So for dual enrollment student participation, we saw in one year 26 percent increase in student participation in dual enrollment college credit hours earned by those students 18% increase in student credit double dual enrollment hours earned by students dual enrollment course enrollments 20% increase from one year to the next and our 31 associates agree agree students. We're going to that convent that ceremony on Saturday We have 31 students this year who are going to go and get their diploma from TSC Before they even get their high school diploma and that right there is a 72 impressed from increased
050from one year to the next It's not easy doing that work Countless hours of planning. She's working with counselors. She's reviewing student transcripts She goes she went over to eighth grade once students start taking their TSI assessments and she's identifying which students are passing She's meeting with the team over there and getting them registered and enrolled with the team from the college the university So we can go ahead and get those students in their pathways. And so I do want to recognize that work Thank you. That's cornet. I have a question. Can you clarify the difference between student participation and course enrollment? Dual student participation, that's how many students we actually have individual students and then course enrollments You might be one student, but you might have three classes that you're taking. Okay, that's a
051difference. Thank you Next we have college career military readiness. This is a new department for this school year. This is headed by miss Nancy Casas and I'm in the beginning of the year. She started off. This is a new department She wasn't really sure what you know what we're gonna do and so you're building this department It's when we're going to a campus and one of the administrators like miss She's like a jack-of-all-trades You've got her doing all kinds of things Because something that she did and I'm going to point out that I do want to point out That was important for our district One of the first things I told her is like mr. Perez wants PTO at every single campus That's a need she's heading that and the other one was booster clubs.
052So we have all these booster clubs We have all these organizations that are doing fundraising in the name of San Marino CISD But we had no system in place. There were no processes set up. There was no expectations. There was no review of financials There was no none of those things were being done And so she was tasked with making sure that all of these things we she created handbooks She created appendices there as reports that didn't be sent in she I just talked to her and she's like I'm getting ready to start receiving all the financials if you're doing these things which are all good things for our students But you're doing in the name of San Benito CISD We have an obligation to make sure that these things are being monitored and they're
053done accordingly And so she's gone and done trainings she's met with people She's gone and done all of this work and that has been a heavy lift Because that was something that some folks were not accustomed to But she's done a fantastic job in doing that and then along with that She's been really championing CCMR for our students at the high school and at the middle school and elementary Because it's everywhere. But one of the main things I want to go ahead and highlight I'm gonna leave the rest for you to read but I want to go ahead and talk about TSI that is Critical because that is like the the door that opens the gateway into college readiness for our students And so she's been working very very hard to make sure that our
054students are getting opportunities That our teachers receive the training that they need and that we're testing these students Timeline and timeliness to increase this opportunity for them Because she and then she works with you know, mr. Meadows as well So from last year in reading as of the day and I check it every day This was checked this morning and I had did updated a little bit because they're testing every day And this is just our graduates for this year. This is just 12th grade last year We had at this point time. We had 231 students actually the last year date That was a total what I'm giving you for this year's date. That's of this morning So reading 231 last year this year 255 that's an increase of 10% in math We had 200
055200 students from the graduating class pass this year. We're up to 263 students, that's an increase of 32% Those students that have passed both reading and math last year. We had 169 this year. We're 227 that's an increase of 34% and she just asked me Hey the summer we're gonna go do a camp Can I bring seniors who haven't passed and I said absolutely so that number is likely going to go up so Shout out to you miss On the next slide we have Now this is looking to be the baseline because now we're monitoring this starting in eighth grade So these are our baseline numbers next year I expect to be reporting to you the increases that we're having from these baseline numbers Moving forward so just kind of wanted to show you You
056know where we are for every content area for each one in each grade level, and we'll start monitoring it our goal last year I remember the year before last I don't know but But we had we had a graduating class about half the students Remember having a conversation and it's like half the students had not even tested in our graduating class But they can start in eighth grade And we're like wait a minute. Why are we waiting? So the goal is that we have at least five to ten percent that passed in fifth in eighth grade in ninth grade We're gonna bump that up to twenty five percent to thirty percent We that way when we get to twelfth grade We're only looking at five to ten percent of students that we're targeting and so
057that's our plan moving forward She also is the one in charge of FAFSA and so we're looking at those numbers, too I had a conversation got a call for mr. Fettis. He's like what is going on with this last year? I'm on it. So but actually it was miss Casas who was on it And so this year I can tell you pulled the report our last the item this was the one from April 27 and So we were at 45 percent at that point They give you the comparison from last year to this year and on April 27th of last year It was at 45 percent of the graduating classes is just looking at seniors and this year. We're at 79 percent It's an increase of 76 percent The other thing that she is working
058on Diligently is outcome bonus and So in 2024 as per our summary of finance report that is official This is lagging data that we have two years behind. So we get the TEA report. It's two years behind So the spring 20s 26 report that came out had data from 2024. We had generated $297,000 for outcome bonus our in-house numbers for last year outcome bonus money's generated Was $380,000 as of right now Without including all the students who have our pending graduation. We are at $477,000 for this school year, which is an increase of 26 percent CTE This is led by mr. Ellen Larande. This is another heavy lift. And so mr Larande is new also to this department So he had a lot of learning to do a lot of high Expectations a lot of
059work to do and he's done a phenomenal job so Last year when we were talking about we were working on testing students, you know I was a big push you like we need to get students tested and last year in 2324 we had 490 students who passed an IBC That year before I'm sorry the year before and last year And industry industry based certificate So there was an industry-based certificate that students when they work in these pathways they take the assessment and so last year We were pushing the year before last in 2024. We had 409 students seniors who earned an industry-based Certificate with the push that we made last year We had 998 students that earned a certificate But TEA likes to change things around for us last year also in order for us
060to get that CCM our point our students had Concentrators that means they just had to have two classes within a pathway. So this year He comes in and it's like oh by the way, they have to be completers That means they have to have three to four courses in the aligned pathway and have the IBC And so when he starts doing the work in the beginning of the school year We have students that have lots of classes that are CTE classes But they have classes and almost all kinds of pathways that means they're not gonna be We don't know they're not gonna be completers And so one of the first things and what you see there They created these little he and his team started working on this and they created like these little degree
061plans His teachers with the help of his teachers and his team They taught students how to log in look at their transcripts identify their courses and be able to document where they were To see if they're gonna be completers. This work was so powerful that when we had a meeting later on Counselors were talking to us and I remember in the meeting they're like, you know what? We've got kids coming and asking for a schedule change and they're like, but wait a minute miss. Am I still gonna be a completer? That is powerful because now students are aware of the expectations are and so I wanted to highlight that because that was a heavy lift And it was a lot of work. And so they've done a tremendous job with that Ma'am, yes, I'm sorry
062to interrupt you. But I mean, of course, this is um, this is exciting you know, the kids are getting certificates, but can you please just Just give us a couple of other most favorite courses to take for certificates. Sure or Certifications and I spoke with him and he wants to come up But law enforcement is one of our big ones and we're actually looking at it He came to see me because law enforcement they just he just found out that there's gonna be a 5% cap And so that's an issue for us. We don't want to take it away from students So they're already working. Did he stand up? They're already working on making plans to make sure how we're gonna be able to support students. Welding is another big one for us Construction construction
063is another big one for us Board and welcome, mr. Abrego. Welcome miss Gonzalez. Welcome and board So yes law enforcement is our most popular IBC or most popular pathway Unfortunately, yes TEA put a cap on their IBC. So they started tearing IBCs And so what the state is looking at is are these industry-based? Certifications actually translating to higher paying jobs Are they actually translating to in-demand jobs and when they did their analysis date and I don't know how they came up with that Figure because I would think law enforcement is huge. I mean, especially here in the border area However, all of the IBCs that are for law enforcement are a tier 3 which is the lowest tier and now there's the cap of 5% So if we just kept things the way they are
064We would only get credit for 30 students out of all of our senior years that are in that for CCMR Because it's 5% for all the senior all the seniors regardless of their IBC week because there are other tier 3 IBCs The next most popular I would say would be our health sciences We have tons of kids in our health sciences, which obviously are in-demand and very high-paying so with that in mind we are Introducing the patient care technician program, which is from feedback from our industry partners one of the biggest needs that they have Trying to even have heard like for example our MA which is very popular But they really want the kids to also have like that nursing background and so we're pushing that We did make a change to the CNA
065because our numbers were not where they needed to be so we transitioned into that Sorry, I don't know how much I mean That's that's perfect. I'm just you know, it's exciting use We are really trying so we had a meeting a couple of weeks ago where we brought in industry partners. We brought in folks from Different areas so that they could tell us even like for example the job workforce the work for Texas workforce Texas workforce And they share data as far as what the needs are in our area, right? So one of the biggest needs and one of our other very big program is manufacturing and for that will be welding right at least For our we've had to grow our growth our welding has grown so much that we've had to hire additional
066Teachers were up to four welding instructors So it's and that again reflects the need that we have in the industry with SpaceX and CNG and all that Okay, so we really try to match what the need is awesome. Yeah, that's great news I need to remove in the needle, you know, and mr. Pettus done a great job in this Administration. Thank you job. Thank you. I still go. I still have more to go. I'm sorry That wasn't the extent of his work So he also was tasked with FFA and I want to highlight a couple of student organizations So each one of his programs a study has different programs Different organizations for students and so he did a lot of work But I want to kind of highlight this because I want to kind of
067give you some context in how we do our work So, you know last year we had one student who earned the Lone Star degree award and We had you know, and that was a big deal, right? And it's in it's it's the highest degree you can earn through the FFA Association It's well recognized And it was fantastic. We had a student who got that we were very excited But when we started digging it's like wait a minute we can have more Another district had ten. So it's like why do we just have one? This year we have two and that's just the beginning. So that that's how we kind of do our work last year We had we it was it was we made history, right? We made news be history because we are students
068won Grand champion and reserve grand champion. It was phenomenal. They're exciting But I went back and I dug in We only had three students who went to sales of champions So my conversation with mr. Ladon is like, is that a well-rounded program? When you I mean, it's fantastic. We want to win reserved grand champion and grand champion but just steers We needed I said what happened to the goats what happened to the hogs? What happened to the lambs? What happened? You know where where we should have our goal if we're gonna do something We're doing it with intention and we're gonna do it Well, and we want to make sure that all students have that opportunity And so this year I'm very excited to tell you that we had 15 students Go to the sale
069of champions at this year's Rio Grande Valley livestock show Miss Cornett, I just thought I'd interrupt you. I don't think I've ever heard an assistant superintendent academics talk about goats and lambs I Love go see I'd love to go see them. I know there's different brand different different brands different types. I do love to go see them Now I'm gonna give you some numbers. Okay, let's take a look at some numbers. What is this transition over to the numbers? So again in 2025 those 2025 we were working with Concentrators these were students who only had to have two classes and took an assessment. We were at 42% But this year we're comparing them. It's kind of apples to oranges, right? We're comparing because they have to be con completers with an IBC So from what
070the expectation was last year to what the expectation was this year We went from 42 to 62 if we had taken that same cohort of students last year and had them and seen how many of them Actually qualified for completers with an IBC. We would have been at 32% So 32% to 62% that's a 94% growth in students And this is the percentage of students for the entire graduating class if you're talking about students that are in CTE classes We project now I'm including in this percentage our students who are completing classes right now and are going to graduate next week 93% of our students who are in CTE courses are going to go ahead and be completers and graduated with an IBC Great job, mr. Lavante We're placing close to the end Elementary instruction
071great things. This is the land of rainbows and sunshine We have been expanding our Work with early childhood. We're up to four daycare partnerships. We're extending our partnership with head start We've got those pre-k three-year-olds coming in and so there's great work going on there Also Continuing with the theme of wanting to increase our connection with family We did have our first annual family literacy night that was K through eighth grade Here we're looking at our pre-k3 and pre-k4 data last year when I presented this data we were looking at our 80% mark and here if you can see now at the lowest percentage we have here for our students for end of the year is 86% So our students are getting better prepared for the upcoming school year Great job. Oh, miss Atkinson. I
072didn't introduce you Elementary instruction led. I was when the world of rainbows and sunshine miss Atkinson This is elementary instruction is led by miss Diana Atkinson. I apologize. I got so excited Our next department fine arts head head led by mr. Idalio Martinez He's also new to the team and a new department and he has done a phenomenal job They have been doing some really great things one of the things I want to highlight that he does is he also does all fine arts teacher evaluations the secondary level And you know, it's been so it's been great because he says I don't think our administrators might not have the We're not fine arts experts, right as administrators. We don't all have that background And so he's coming in and he's providing the support to his
073teach to his teachers and saying, you know What when we're talking about differentiating this is what you're doing And so he's been on a great job in supporting our teachers and they I mean I keep hearing how happy they are to have him in supporting them And so he's done, you know as you also can see from our awards night Fine arts is doing some really great things and so and I've got some more highlights for him that I'm gonna go ahead and share In just a minute, but I just kind of wanted to acknowledge him and the great work that he's doing in that department Special populations. This is another one of our RDA accountability systems. This one also moved up led by mr. Ernesto Manriquez Where is it? This one also moved up
074to a level one highest level that they can achieve in this area of accountability the other thing that we but he mr. Manriquez has been working on is providing professional development for all of his staff and all his Both in the paperwork and resources for the classroom to support our students The other thing that he's been doing there's really been working on and I don't know if you've seen besides the reels He's also been focusing on parent engagement events and so he's been hosting these parent engagement events where he's bringing parents in and Speaking to them and not only that, you know creating that connection But also bringing outside resources so that parents will have needs for their students He's bringing other people in for them. So he's done a great job of and you
075know, he comes and tells me I think I have a great turnout I'm gonna have to go to talk to someone and so he's been really working It's really important to him to have a great turnout of parents for these events. So congratulations. Mr. Manriquez great job second and secondary instruction led by miss Joanne Fernandez So here I really want to highlight the work that has gone into master schedule and course catalog We've had things going on for several years where things just get added and we just can continue and get added and continue and get Added and continue so much so that I Remember having a one of the coaches from the high school called me It's like, you know, we're talking about a student and he says to me Well, the student got
076the schedule but you know what miss Cornett it had a name of a teacher the coach that doesn't even work Here anymore. I know and so, you know, that's a red flag. Like what I mean, and so he's like, yeah You know, and so we went back and we talked and the team did an exception. They went through Everything when they're working on master sketch a couple of things The other thing I want to go ahead and highlight by master schedule is we also had a situation last year in the beginning Of the year. I got a phone call This is cornet. Where are those schedules at the high school and it's like, okay And so what happened was we had at the house at the secondary campus We had one person in charge of
077doing schedules. And so what happens is if that person's not there You know that master schedule that person was in charge of the master schedule that person's not there then what happens? And so we met and we're like this is not going to happen to us again and the team's done a phenomenal job So they redid everything they cleaned everything up. They met with every department On Monday, our students will have their schedules for next year Good job Also redid the entire course catalog met with every department and we did all of that work And so I want to acknowledge that's a heavy lift. It's not easy. It's a lot of work. She met with every department Next one is teacher incentive allotment. It's not necessarily in a Department, but this is led by miss
078Abrego miss Araiza and mr. Faria's And so I do want to recognize this is a good thing for our teachers There's a lot of work that goes into it We have a total of 205 teachers that are currently recognize it and have received a designation from Tia And it has they have generated that's last year's picture, but they have generated two million eight hundred and sixty five thousand eight hundred Sixty-one dollars that's over a million dollars from last year. That's a good thing for our teachers All right, NWA map academics. Let me give you a little bit more data So our assessment that we administer to K to kind of want to show you the data trends of where our students are and where They're going So in 2024 for reading overall we were at
07941% if you look at where we are at 2026 We're at 70% that's it from year 25 to 26. That's a 35% growth in math blue bonnet You know, everybody was like miss cornet the score is gonna go down because of the blue bonnet. I was like no They're not and they did it 49 to 73 percent that's a 53 percent growth for our students in k2 And so that's a great job and that's the entire team our academics seem all our administrators and all of our teachers everybody everybody stand up We did also we don't I do not have any of your data for you for star But we do have our middle of the year data And so here we did see you know, we did have some gains in Algebra 1 in
080English 1 We did used to have a little bit of a dip in English 2 and US history We had an ink a little dip in biology. We anticipated that because we have new transition teaks that were going to affect there But this is something that we're working on just kind of wanted to share that But I didn't want to give you some context Just to kind of see where we have been and where we are and I know it's gonna be good The scores are gonna come in and they're gonna be good. I'm caught I know they are So, but he wanted to give you some context this this report is directly from TEA and it goes all the way back to 2021 so the purple line on the very top, that's the level
081of approaches those are the percentage of students that are performing at the approaches level and So the middle line is the blue line and that's meat So when we're talking about approaches our target is 90% we want 90% of our students there We are definitely not there, but we're further ahead than we've been in the past At the meats level our target there is 60% Again, we are not there, but you can see that we are making gains And at the meats at the Masters level, which is at the higher level for our students our goal There our target there is 30% Again, we're not there But I just kind of wanted to show you an illustration of where we've been and the work that's going in and how we're moving forward And like I
082said, I'm also gave you for point of reference. I've also giving you the state average for each one of those And so Now points of pride last year. My points of pride was only we're going to the end The points of pride was one slide, but I've got multiple slides this year. So ERP honor roll schools We had two new schools that were recognized as ERP honor roll schools at Downs Fine Arts Academy and line cantada elementary U.s. News best elementary school. Did I forget to mention anyone? I just want to make sure I didn't forget anyone from my department U.s. News best elementary schools. We had we also added two new schools at Downs Fine Arts Academy and La Paloma elementary All of our campus continued with capturing kids hearts additional points of pride
083Dr. Cash elementary earned the Apple Distinguished School Award first one in our district Sullivan Environmental Science Academy received and earned the champion schools for Texas 4h award First one in our and we just got the news that Ed Downs Fine Arts Academy earned the Disney Stage Connect award and that Mr. Mr. Martinez radio Martinez was critical and assisting in making sure that we received that award for Ed Downs Fine Arts Academy Also, I got three slices here for points of pride We also were recognized San Mario CISD as a NAMM Foundation best communities for music education And also that is I attribute that work to the lead. Mr. Martinez taking the lead on that as well And of course our district earning the capturing kids hearts showcase district Finally the last one I Wanted to
084kind of show you what we ground our work in and what we how we pride ourselves in the work that we do First and foremost our students are always first in everything that we do and the picture I have there I have there because I want to show how everything we do is in collaboration so when I'm talking about master schedule or You know course kind of like miss Fernandez may be taking the lead, but she's doing that work With mr. Meadows who's head of counseling advanced academics. She's doing that work with mr. La Dada who's in charge of CTE She's doing that work with mr. Martinez who does fine arts. She's doing that where they're working collaboratively So whether it's literacy night for elementary and secondary when they're working with ISP whether the CCM
085our expo event CTE commitment day with is a collaborative event with CCM our and CTE Whether it's little Greyhouse track meet which head by said CCM our and all of our other campuses of the Vita program was a collaborative effort between CTE and after-school program Fall festival course catalog master catalog the spring festival And that's that picture there that they're planning the spring festival and awareness event The team prides itself in working collaboratively across in all areas to make sure that when we're working on things We're working together for the best interest of our students. And so with that I thank you for your time. Oh Here's the team. I do have pictures of my team. There's the team And one more time miss Abrago director of assessment research and evaluation all things are TI
086And Tia that's assessment miss Arisa professional development all things Tia evaluations library services Miss Diana Atkinson early childhood and early elementary and GT. She also does GT miss Manuel Who's does all things after school Nancy casa CCM are mr. Various digital plot of instructional technology miss Joanne Fernandez all things secondary Miss Emma Gonzalez mr. Laralde mr. Manriquez special services. Mr. Martinez and mr. Meadows They're an awesome team blessed to have them. They're doing some great things. Thank you Delia just want to thank you. Obviously you didn't have your picture up there, but we know who leads that that department I think my job is so much easier because I have Delia I'm very proud like mr. We got the onset earlier about having a leadership team that works very well together with me They put
087up with my sense of humor and they you know are They don't like my phone calls They get the job done. I don't have to worry about it when I ask somebody to do something They take care of it. So and Delia obviously your department is what drives this district So thank you very much that but aside from all of the directors that you oversee She also oversees every principal in this camp in this district. So thank you Delia for everything you do Mr. Pettis I just want to say a few words if I may really quick so we can we can move on but As a parent sitting up here first and foremost, you know just hearing all this Great news and us moving the needle and in the positive direction. Like we've always
088said we were gonna do You know, I've been fortunate to be in this board several years and there's have some fellow board members as well And we've seen the transition with mr. Pettis and his team So it truly is, you know a very admirable and a very respectable humbling experience to sit here and see how how this team works Together and and and what he does and for his staff and for the kids and and all that so at this moment I mean, I just can't I can't go without you know Thanking him so much and just seeing all the great things that are happening I mean if you don't if this doesn't wow you and in any way shape or form then then something's wrong But for me, you know as a parent first
089and foremost I'm extremely excited to continue moving forward and mr. Pettis you and your team, you know And as well as all the district holistically has done a tremendous job. So congratulations and thank each and every one of you Okay, let's move on to agenda item number seven consent agenda And in order to promote an efficient meeting the board must act upon more than just one one item by a single vote Through the use of the consent agenda the consent items placed on the agenda shall be marked with an asterisk Consent items are items for which the which no board member no board discussion or or anticipated for which the superintendent recommends approval Prior to the part of the time which approval of the consent agenda is had at the request of any board Board
