Um, I'd like to start by welcoming family, friends, and of course, my peers. We gather this evening in celebration of not only our ending, but also our beginning. If you don't already know me, I'm Hannah Allen, and this is Ginger Santos, who will be accompanying me and welcoming you on our special day. Thank you, Hannah, and thank you guys for being here with us today. Before we get started with all the sappy things we'd like to say about our time here, I'd like you to please redirect your attention to the south end of the field. Stand, remove your hats, and silence your cell phones while our EHS chamber choir sings our national anthem. I can't I felt Christ. gallant stream. The bombs bursting in pro [music] the of [singing] the free and the home of

God. Thank you, chamber choir. Moments like this remind us that tonight is about more than graduation. It's about the moments, the friendships, growth, and memories we'll carry with us long after we leave these h halls and take on what waits for us after high school. [clears throat] >> Okay. Now to the sappy part. If you're here today, you're either graduating or celebrating someone who is. To many of you, high school was just school. To others, it was the time of their lives. Although we all had different experiences, I'm hoping we can all agree that our high school years will affect our future. Not because they determine exactly where we end up, but because they helped build the foundation for the people we will become. The challenges we face taught us how to persevere. Finals week

taught us that we absolutely should not procrastinate. and the teachers who believed in us reminded us that our potential was greater than we thought. Although many of us are sad about its ending, I encourage everyone to be grateful that it happened, excited to try something new, and not to be afraid of the future. Because although the future may seem uncertain, it's okay to fail. Learn from it. As we are gathered here today to mark the end of our high school journey, it's hard not to think about everything that has brought us to this moment. Four years ago, we gathered on the same field for our freshman orientation. Some of us may be scared, nervous, and excited for what lie ahead before us. I remember walking into the school on the first day thinking, "What did

I get myself into? This is going to be the hardest four years of my life." Sadly, I was proved wrong. Before we knew it, those long years became four short ones. Somewhere between our first awkward introductions and our final goodbyes, we grew up. We filled these hallways with laughter, tears, and even cricket noise makers. Sorry, Miss Mey. Um, we made memories at our home games, school dances, and spirit weeks. We shared moments that seemed ordinary at the time, but now means so much more. While we may not remember every lesson from class, we will remember the people who sat beside us and the teachers who cheered us on every step of the way. No matter where life takes us after today, we'll always share this history, these moments, and the bond of being class of

0092026. Now, please help me in welcoming our next guest speaker, ASB President Cecilia Roth. [cheering] I'll try not to talk too long, but I am my father's daughter, so no promises. Um, [laughter] but hi, my name is Cecilia Roth, but most know me as Cece and I am the 2025 2026 ASB president. I just want to say congrats to us all being here. This is a huge accomplishment, not just for us graduates, but for everyone that loves and cares for us. Time, energy, and more tears than I can count have been put into these past four years, and we are all very proud of what we have accomplished. A huge thanks goes out to all teachers, certified staff, and administrators who helped us get to this point. And a special shout out to everybody who

works in the lunchroom. I wouldn't have been able to get through my ASB periods without you. While what we have accomplished is great, and I know we are all glad to be done with school, especially Mr. Hendrickson's college class. I'm so sorry, Hendrickson. I love you, though. Uh there is still so much for us to accomplish. We are all all looking forward to moving on with our plans, figuring out what we want to major in, what jobs we want to have, and all the other fun adult stuff. But I want to bring up a point I made in my letter to the yearbook. I'll save you all from reading it. In life, just like in high school, we will run into people who we do not see eye to eye with. Whether it be a

roommate, a colleague, or a random person on the street, we will find people that have a different way of looking at things than us. Always remember that it costs nothing to be kind. As you go on to your respective futures, there will be many expectations of you and many people will hold these expectations without thinking about how they affect you. Please treat these with people with kindness. Treat them with kindness when they hurt you. Treat them with kindness when they knock you down. Treat them with kindness even if they don't do it back. In this kindness, you will be able to find joy. Joy in the fact that you treated them well, in the fact that you tried your best to make their day better. Helping others is a sure way to also help yourself.

>> [snorts] >> The kindness in this class has been thoroughly shown through these past four years. Through showing support through the loss of loved ones to building each other up on a day-to-day basis. Keep this kindness through your whole life. Class of 2026, good luck. [cheering] Thank you, Cece. And good evening, everyone. My name is Bella Wood, and I have the honor of getting to introduce our next student speaker. A student who truly embodies what it means to be dedicated, have excellence, and represent unwavering leadership. Throughout her time in high school, she's accomplished many incredible achievements. A few large ones being that she finished top of her senior class, went to state three out of her four years in wrestling, and took a huge role as treasurer for our school's ASB program. Beyond her achievements,

she is somebody who is always first to step up and help people. And even when it's a larger leadership role, she never fails to bring her positivity and hard work with her wherever she goes. I know that her motivation and strong character will leave a lasting impact on our school without a doubt. She's not only focused on achieving success today, but also in the future. This fall, she'll journey over to Boise State University where she will study engineering. With that, please welcome Alexandra Estrada Rangel. [cheering] Thank you, Bella, for that beautiful introduction. Good evening, everyone. I have sorry I am honored to be in front of you all today in what to date is the biggest crowd I've had the privilege to speak in front of. My name is Alexandra Estrada Ranel. I would like

to start off by thanking all of you for being here. I'd like to thank the staff, friends, family, and coaches who have all been a part of our journey. In addition, I would like to give a big thank you to Mr. Logan for never actually sending me to Lar's office despite all of his threats. His reasoning being, "Because you annoy me." Well, Mr. Logan, that was on purpose. This milestone means a lot to all of us, especially to the ones who did not expect to reach it. Your sacrifices and support have allowed all of us to stand here today. I would like to hold a moment of silence for those we hold in our hearts unable to make it here today. Thank you. During these past four years, I have doubted myself constantly, but never

gave up. Because of that, I have achieved things I never expected to be able to do. For example, standing in this very moment, in this very spot, I was supposed to say that backgrounds. I'm nervous. Okay. I did not get here alone, nor was it just handed to me. I worked hard for it. And for those who believed me, believed in me every step of the way, thank you. Writing this speech was harder than I expected, which surprised me because I was so excited when I found out I would be giving it. Last Saturday, I began jotting down notes for it while at a grad party on the back of a sweet potato receipt. And so, the procrastination began, reinforcing the statement, "Diamonds are made under pressure." Now, let's take a trip down memory lane

using Mr. Hamburg's iconic line, "I miss you already." To my friends who I will no longer be able to see as often as I do now in six months, I miss you already. [snorts] To the family with whom I've made my most cherishing memories with, I miss you already. To every time I got mistaken as a twin, I miss you already. Just a disclaimer, if you think you see my ghost in the hallway next year, don't worry. It's just one of my sisters. Now, let's get back on track. To the team I had the great privilege of leading and being a part of, I miss you already. To the times I spent secretly watching the World Cup in class freshman year, I miss you already. To the joke of the day, I miss you already.

To the community I've built, I miss you already. As much as I'll miss a lot, I'm also excited for the future. One should not dwell on the past but rather reflect on the lessons learned. My mom has always quoted Nobel Prize winning Danish physicist Niles Boore who once said, "An expert is a person who has made all the mistakes that can be made in a very narrow field." Now, let me repeat that. An expert is a person who has made all the mistakes that can be made in a very narrow field. Class of 2026, as you go out into the world, do not fear being imperfect, as you have not yet completed all the comp steps to becoming an expert. Do not fear high school like you once feared. Sorry, do not fear the future

like you once feared high school because these four years have turned you into yourself. You will make mistakes as you have before, but they do not define you. You will struggle through them and maybe currently are, but the most important part is for you to have hope. Think back to all the mistakes you have made. How did they shape you? And are you grateful they did? You are now able to answer those questions as an expert. A quality unique to you within that very narrow field. For my second quote, my man Drake once said, "Started from the border, now we're here." Or something like that. Graduates, let today not only be a celebration of what your future has to hold, but also a reminder of where you started. origin is very important. It makes your

accomplishments hold that much more value. I personally stand before you today as a first generation student like many others behind me. My parents have sacrificed a lot for me to have the opportunities that I do. >> [snorts] >> All of us at some point have been confronted with the question, what do you want to be when you grow up? I always had small ideas of what I wanted to be. But it wasn't until a late night practice when my coach brought some of us together that I finally pieced my answer together through his question. What do you want out of this program? My answer satisfied both of these questions. I responded saying I wanted to be an example. And though I didn't specify whether a good or a bad one, I'll expand on that now.

I want to be the example that I never had. I want to inspire young minds and women. I want to inspire minority groups, my family, and every adult I come across. I want to give people hope and confidence. Show them they have the ability to write their own story. Underclassmen, I have a few words of wisdom to share. And though it does sound repetitive, get involved, show up, and include yourself in what this school has to offer. Build a community for yourself. Go to games, join a club or sport, go to school dances, and straight home afterwards. Shout out to Johnson. Again, incoming freshman, sophomores, juniors, and upcoming seniors. Be the loudest in the crowd. Do it scared, do it tired, do it curious, but do you. Surround yourself with people you want to be

more like and who have the qualities you wish you had because you truly are who your friends are. And I am beyond grateful for all of mine. And though they wanted me to shout them out by name, my elementary school reports cards were right and I do talk too much. So since I'm sure some of you are yawning by this point, that brings this speech to an end. [snorts] Thank you all for your time in this wonderful opportunity. Congratulations, class of 2026. And remember to stay young, wild, and free. [cheering] Hello, I'm Michael Park, a fellow senior executive board member, and let me say what an honor it is to be among you all tonight. Without further ado, I will be proudly introducing a select few students who will be singing Whenever you Remember by

Carrie Underwood. So, please join me in a round of applause introducing our ASB president, Cecilia Roth, accompanied by Allison Moore in Evangeline Springs. [applause] >> [music] >> When you [singing] look back on the good I was on [singing] your side when We claim the brightest [singing] star and we came so far and know we [singing] won't forget when [singing] you remember how we held [singing] our heads so high [singing] I'll be Remember how we reach that dream together [singing] [music] [singing] and nobody could hold us down. 023we held our hands so there [singing] could [singing] be reach that dream together. Whatever you remember. Whenever [singing] you remember. [singing] >> [cheering] [applause] >> Good afternoon families and friends. My name is Jacob Reyes and it is my pleasure to introduce our second student speaker of the night. He's a very active member of our school and dedicated athlete to the track and field. He will be attending Witworth University to continue his athletics and track and field and pursue a degree in secondary education and coaching. As Lightning McQueen would say, he's quicker than quick, faster than fast. Please give it up for Alex Bolino. Thank you, Jacob Reyes, for that introduction. Good evening, families, friends, teachers, staff, and most importantly, the graduating class of 2026. Four years ago, many of us walked into Ephraa High School

not really knowing who we were going to become. We came in as nervous freshmen trying to find our classrooms, trying to make new friends, and trying to figure out where we fit in. Back then, graduation felt so far away that it almost didn't feel real. But somehow, here we are. Over the past four years, we've done more than just attend classes and complete assignments. We've grown up together. We've shared victories, losses, stress, laughs, unforgettable memories, and moments that shaped us into the people we are today. Their class, this class has become more than classmates. We have became a family. We supported each other at games, concerts, performances, competitions, and events. We celebrated each other's successes, and during difficult times, we showed up for one another. No matter what group, sport, activity, or background we came

from, we all shared the same hallways, the same experiences in the same journey. [snorts] And while high school wasn't always easy, I think that's what made our class so strong. We learned how to keep e we learned how to keep going even when life got hard. We learned how to adapt, how to grow, and how to push ourselves further than we thought we could. Now, tonight we stand together one last time as a class of 2026. Tomorrow, our paths begin to separate. Some of us are heading to college. Some are entering the workforce, the military, trades, athletics, or pursuing dreams we've always had since we were kids. And even though we may all go different directions, every single one of us is carrying a piece of Ephrada with us. The friendships we built here, the

lessons we learned, and the memories we made will stay with us for the rest of our lives. As exciting as the future is, I think it's important tonight to appreciate this moment. Because this is the last time all of us will be together in the same place, sharing the same chapter of our lives. Class of 2026, we are ready for what comes next. Not because we have everything figured out, but because these past four years taught us how to face uncertainty with courage, determination, and confidence. And as we move forward into the next stage of our lives, I want to leave you with this. Someday, years from now, we won't remember every assignment, every test, or every early morning. But we will remember the people besides us, the memories we created, and the feeling of

becoming who we were meant to be. Congratulations, class of 2026. Thank you. Okay, there are so many significant people in our lives that helped us throughout hardships these past four years. And on behalf of the graduates here today, I am honored to give to invite our first staff speaker of the evening. She not only has been a teacher of many of us graduates here today, but she has been a role model to me in my life, showing her resilience, selflessness, courage, and a positive attitude. Many here today know the great hardship that she has faced in life. Yet she continues to face each day with a smile. Her resilience reminds me that true strength true strength is not measured by the challenges we face, but by how we respond to them. This teacher has brought

joy to many of our lives and is truly a blessing to many of us here. Now, without further ado, it is my honor to introduce Miss Johnson. [screaming] Wow, that was quite the introduction. To the class of 2026, I am so honored and blessed to have the opportunity to share a little love with you tonight. [snorts] To say I am proud of you is an understatement. I've known many of you for a very long time. [snorts] Most of you since middle school, but some as far back as kindergarten and before. Tonight is a celebration of everything you've accomplished and everything that still lies ahead. We all have people who cannot be here with us tonight. But I know without a doubt they would be just as proud of you as I am. And I have

a sneaky suspicion they want me to share a couple of words of wisdom. After tonight, the easy part is over. You now get to join the world of adultting. There will be good days and bad days, easy days and hard days. Enjoy every single one of them. If it's hard, it's worth it. If it's uncomfortable, do the work. You don't just live once, you get to live every day. Make those days count. >> [snorts] >> And finally, in the immortal words of someone very dear to me and a lot of you, get out there and do hard I love you all. [cheering] [applause] [cheering] >> I love you all. Congratulations, class of 2026. And thank you for everything. I couldn't have done it without you. >> We appreciate ver Miss Johnson very much and we

brought her these flowers for her. Thank you, Miss Johnson. Now, I have the honor to introduce our second staff speaker. He's one of the most respected and well-loved teachers around the high school. And for me personally, he's taught me a lot in my life and how to be a well-rounded person. Whether it was on the football field or doing a random classroom visit, there have been many memories exchanged between us. Uh so, please give me a big round of applause in welcoming Mr. Patrick Mitchell to the podium. GOOD EVENING, TIGER [screaming] NATION. [cheering] >> STUDENTS, are you ready to graduate? >> Let's try THAT AGAIN. STUDENTS, ARE YOU READY TO GRADUATE? [cheering] >> My name is Mr. Mitchell and I would like to welcome my fellow staff members, the families from near and far, and

of course our seniors who we are here to celebrate tonight. This is one of my favorite places in the world to be, right here on this football field in our small town of Ephraa. This small spot on the map has changed my life forever. And seniors, I know it has changed yours, too. As we gather here today to celebrate the many accomplishments of the class of 2026, I want to pause for a moment before we look to the future. Tonight is not only about what comes next for each of you, but about the journey that brought each of you to this point. You each have unique experiences, struggles, and triumphs. And all of those moments were what kept you going. And that is what are we what we are celebrating here today. This class will

always have a special place in my career as they were the first class of freshmen when I became the head football coach. At the end of this past season, I was presented with a before and after picture of those players in their jerseys. first when they were young freshman at a playoff game in Clarkston and then lastly at our final game together in Stilicum. The transformation from then until now uh is it's a great picture. Brady, Jacob, Hunter, Bryce, Andrew, Michael, Calvin, Wyatt, Carter, Caleb, Braden, Naen, Dominic, Alex, Casey, Aiden, Jacob, Payton, and especially Brody have grown up a lot. It's a powerful reminder of the work we are called to do, not only as teachers and coaches, but as a community to help shape, mold, and inspire the future here in Ephraa. As you

leave here today, you do so as graduates. And the baton now passes to you to find your community, your purpose, and someday help shape, mold, and inspire the future yourselves. Class of 2026, my greatest hope for you is that you truly live and enjoy this season of your life. Don't spend too much time dwelling on the past or waiting for the future. be present and enjoy the season that is your youth right now. But also remember that it is only a season. To quote the great Greg Daniels, I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them. Someday soon, your life will shift into another season, and you may get caught up and tricked into believing that it will last forever. But it is truly only

a season. I believe that when you fully embrace and live in those moments in your life, even the difficult and challenging ones, you gain a greater appreciation for the struggles and the triumphs that will inevitably come your way. Now go out there and make the most of this one. Class of 2026, thank you. Thank you, Mr. Mitchell, for stepping up and giving such a great speech. Now, it is time that I introduce a very important person to Ephraa High School. a person who has done amazing job as a leader and a role model to the students and has made sure things run smoothly all year long. Please welcome our principal, Dr. Miller, who will come up to introduce and award the 2026 graduates. Okay. At this time, we will present the diplomas. Students with red

activity cords represent their continued involvement in one of the activities listed in your program over a three-year period. Those students with a gold honor cord represent an accumulated grade point average of 3.6 or above during their four years at Afreda High School. Mr. Ken Murray, superintendent of Afraida School District, and school board representatives Mr. Josh Sainsbury, Mrs. Casey Divine, and Mr. Mike Flurkins will recognize our students and present the diplomas. 042this ceremony to a close, we'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who's been involved in our success over the school years. First and foremost, I would like to thank LeBron Raone James just because. But actually to every family member, staff member, and friend, thank you for everything you have done for us. High school can certainly be a difficult place to navigate and conquer, but with the help of everyone around us, we were able to make it. It is truly a blessing that we have had so many amazing teachers and staff throughout our our years. And again, thank you for all the hard work that you've done for us. Finally, I would like to thank our families and more specifically our parents and guardians. None of us would be where we are today without

you guys. So, please be proud of yourselves for helping us get here. And because of you, we get to celebrate this moment together. Graduation is a very special moment in our lives that we as graduates get to share with you family and friends. To my fellow graduates, we have overcome so much to lead up to this very moment. These past 13 years, we have all shown hard work, dedication, and perseverance through all throughout all the challenges that we have faced. As we leave this chapter behind and begin a new one, let us remember the lessons, friendships, and memories that brought us here today. Our futures may be uncertain, but it is also it is also full of many opportunities. So take advantage of every opportunity you come across. Life after today will not be easy.

It will have its ups and downs. It is up to you to pursue your dreams and goals with confidence. Face challenges with courage and always remember where you came from. Now though we are going to our separate ways, we wish everyone the best of luck. Now Mrs. Miller, will you do the honors of presenting the class of 2026? [cheering] Okay, seniors, please stand. I am proud to announce that you have met the requirements of the Freigha School District and the state of Washington to complete your high school education. You may now move your tassels from the left to the right. Congratulations, class of 2026. [cheering] And that concludes our ceremony. Feel free to join the graduates on the field. Thank you all for coming. >> [music] >> Where did all the time go? It's starting
